  • Survivors have the advantage when it comes to the highest level of play. Everything else is relatively balanced.

    Relatively.

Survivors complained about Killers like Deathslinger due to the lack of Counterplay at Loops.

Killers told them that Survivors should not only Loop but adapt.

Survivors adapted and figured out that running in a straight Line buys more time against most of the Killers, including those with a very strong Chase Power.

    Killers: :O

Well, I never told anyone to stop looping and adapt when facing Deathslinger.

Therefore I shouldn't have to deal with survivors holding W and pre dropping every single pallet.

  • This suggestion has my full support! I would love such a feature!

I already have a specific menu in mind:

I mean, you should, since that shuts down the entire desire for Freddy nicely with simple logic. "Unique" is not good enough to justify even wasting resources on bringing back old Freddy and doesn't outweight the various pros that came with the rework.

And so... you're going to actively pretend decisive evidence that Freddy was a badly designed Killer doesn't exist. You just... don't care, you're going to continue even if the other person is correct. Yeah, thing is, others are subscribing to your opinions despite the glaring flaws in it. I don't think I can't let you go unchecked if people are going to join your cause. If everyone dismissed you, sure, but you have QwQ and other regulars regurgitating what you say.

I've also only called you out... 3 times now. The 1st was when I engaged you the first time. You do this thing where you make almost every post to be about old Freddy in some way very, very, very consistently. That Pig topic was one of the few times where you don't mention old Freddy... that is, if I forget that "old Freddy" bit at the end.

And I understand that this is probably breaking a rule, I apologize to the mods, but I really would rather be able to try and shut down this view before it spreads further. I can remain civil if the mods wish.

I have provided several counters to your "evidence" before, which you ignored and wished to stop the discussion, something that, mind you, I respected by giving my final reply without pressing the matter any further. And then, suddenly, you decide to call me out when I voice my opinion, even though I've already asked you to stop. I've seen you on other threads saying things which I did not agree with. Did I call you out for that? No, I did not.

@QwQw and other friends of mine are not "regurgitating" everything I say as if we were some sort of cult. We are just players who lost the killer we loved most, and wish for him to be brought back to the game. It doesn't take much to realize that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. What happened to us Old Freddy mains was unfair and we have every right to speak about it as much as we want to, as long as we keep it civil. WHICH we always do.

And yes, most of my posts are directed towards Old Freddy, simply because that is the reason why I joined the Forums in the first place. The mods have stated multiple times that every one has the right to voice their opinions as long as they are civil about it, which I always am. I've talked with people who completely disagreed with me, but I never insulted them or called them out for it.

You know this, you know that by wanting to "shut this view down" you are clearly breaking a rule. And yet you still try to do it. I must say, this is genuinely concerning. I will ask one last time: please, stop doing that.

  • Original characters? Well, I would say Claudette and Huntress.

Yeah that's how I feel pretty excited about it. I want to stockpile as many as I can I have got every killer to prestige 3 except for the four newest releases. So I want to stockpile the ones that are on Prestige 3. I'm hoping this event helps me to get barbecue on a bunch of them right now Huntress, Freddy, Bubba are P3 50 with BBQ but outside of them ghostface is my only other one that's P3 with barbecue so I might be using him a lot during the event I think he's around level 30.

On P3 I have: Freddy, Bubba, Clown, Oni and Spirit. PIg is the one I am going for right now, that is why the event will help me a lot. I just need to git gud and make the most out of it.

Mine is very close to P2. The upcoming event should help me get her to P3 with the perks I need.

If you dont have ANY decent perks on her cant really have high expectations. The point of perks is to help strengthen the weaknesses of that killer. If you dont have Save, sloppy, Bbq, monitor, enduring, brutal, corrupt, etc then her weakness is glaring and easy to take advantage of. Unless of course you play bots.

Truth be told, I don't have a single one of those perks you've mentioned :)

The consequences of Prestige. But wait until I get to P3.

Then I shall be there to fight them. And we all know Legion will take her place as the most op killer.

Funny enough, Legion once was one of the most broken killers in the game.

It is one of the few things of the past that I do not miss, and I am such an old fashioned player that if there is something that I do not miss than you can be sure that something was a bad thing.

I'm still fairly impressed that you manage to make every post of yours to be about old Freddy.

I think we've already gone over how "unique" isn't good enough, and never will be. :)

And I am impressed that you think I actually care about our previous discussions.

No matter what you or anyone else says, I will never stop standing up for my all-time favorite killer. So, if you would kindly stop calling me out every single time I voice my opinion, that would be nice for the both of us.

Stbl is the only chase perk i run on her. Just have not needed anything else i personally dont boost her ambush or crouch and do just fine in loops. I crouch and if they dont leave they get downed by ambush dropped pallet or not. Yes there are some spots anbush aint long enough like shack for instance but you can close that with mind games. I also dont run tampered timet crate of gears I personally bring extra trap and extra box. I do my best to put the extra trap on the obsession but just someone running the gauntlet twice is enough slowdown with sloppy. Monitor and BBQ are my other two but i am a hugh fan of enduring so might one day (when bp not needed as much) swap those two for enduring brutal. From what i read on here shes not for everyone but I love her and can kill you faster with her than S class killers.

Indeed, STBFL truly is a good perk on her, same as the other perks you've mentioned. If only the Bloodweb helped...

    @ChiSoxFan11 said:

I posted this for someone else before, so I'll cut and paste it here:

As someone who plays The Pig a LOT, a few thoughts -- other Pig players experience with her will obviously vary, but there's always more than one way to play a killer successfully. A lot of good advice has already been given in this thread -- my own experiences are here can be taken for what they're worth, simply one player's experience.

-- You're gifted with an innate in-game slowdown in the form of your traps, so use them. Some Pig players like to save them, but I start busting them out immediately. Nothing worse than having the last gen pop, and you still have a trap left that's been rendered useless. Survivors will, for the most part, start searching boxes immediately, even if their trap isn't active, so that's a survivor that's NOT working on a generator. That slowdown is invaluable in a game where gens can go by so quickly.

-- That said, additional slowdown perks for gen regression are useful, if almost necessary, to hang with coordinated Red Rank squads. Corrupt paired with Pop can work, though Pop can be unreliable at times. Even though she's not a high mobility killer, I will run Ruin paired with Undying -- again, once a survivor has a trap on, particularly an active one, they won't be looking for your totem. I tend to run Surveillance with her as well, and I get a TON of use out of it with Ruin (as long as the totems stay up). I run BBQ with her mainly to reduce the BP grind, but Enduring or Brutal Strength is a 4th good perk since you'll be eating through pallets, or Save The Best For Last (since you can save stacks by using your Ambush Attack on the Obsession). Sloppy Butcher isn't bad either, as survivors who take longer healing won't be searching boxes or working on gens. Any additional slowdown you can get is good for you.

-- Stealth is not her strength, but it still can be useful. Her terror radius doesn't go away immediately like Ghostface, and after you uncrouch, there's a brief period that it takes to come back. She moves painfully slow while crouched, so while it's okay to use it to move around, you have to be selective -- you don't want to be crossing the entire map while crouched. I get a lot of cheeky hits using her crouch to stealth back to a generator that Surveillance tells me someone has jumped back on. You don't have to use her Ambush attack in those instances -- using her stealth simply to get close to a survivor and in position to land a hit before they can reach a pallet or window is often enough. There are many matches where I barely use her stealth at all and are still successful with her.

-- Thought a lot of people want to label it as useless, I find her ambush attack is VERY underrated at loops that aren't large ones. If you can break line of sight -- and even better if you can get into the pallet -- you can turn it into a no-win for the survivor if they hesitate and don't run immediately away. Here's a great example of how I'll land that type of hit:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKD_e1RxhYk&list=PLC2rL4BtEvpu37EzsT36X2SS3vL2Igksg&index=28&ab_channel=GeriatricGaming

If you think survivors are anticipating you using the Ambush at a loop, you can also FAKE using her Ambush Attack as well, since her roar telegraphs it (something that it would be nice if that would be changed down the line). You can crouch and snort, faking that you're charging the Ambush Attack, then immediately pop back up after a survivor has run from what might have been a safe tile for them and land a hit while they're in the open scrambling to another tile.

-- Her best add-ons are the Combat Straps, which are a common that reduce her crouch time, and either the Video Tape (an uncommon that reduces the time it takes to charge the Ambush Attack and the cooldown if you miss) or the Last Will (which gives you a 5th trap). If you're feeling particularly spicy, the Tampered Timer/Crate of Gears is deadly, if for no other reason than only the most experienced survivors will realize you're running it before someone dies (if they notice that you're putting the trap on them slightly quicker than normal). I've had survivors die to the TT simply because they got healed off of hook with an active trap and got pushed off of a box somewhere along the way. Her other add-ons are not really anything to write home about -- the one that puts an extra Jigsaw box isn't terrible. Amanda's Secret is a nice meme build that is similar to Scratched Mirror Myers (you get only 1 trap but wallhacks when crouched), but you need an indoor map to really make that work (Hawkins is probably the best place to run that build).

-- Speaking of traps, the best way to start a round is to get a down and a trap on a survivor's head before the 1st gen pops. If you can do that, you'll have immediate pressure on. While it might be tempting to chase after a trapped survivor, that's NOT the way to play her. The trap IS the pressure, not you chasing after the person who's trapped. RNG can sometimes be cruel -- it's frustrating to see everyone getting their traps off immediately -- but that's still time they have to do something OTHER than work on a gen, which gives you additional time to get the downs you need to win.

-- The exception to the above rule is when you come across someone on a Jigsaw box, it's always worth it to harass them off of it, even if you don't commit to chasing them. They lose all progress on the box, and if it chases them all the way to another box somewhere else, even better. If, while chasing someone, you run across someone searching a box who's injured, downing them and continuing your chase can provide a ton of pressure.

-- Finally, players are going to want to meme with you when you play The Pig. I honor every Boop of the Snoot by letting that person live -- I've even let whole teams farm who are willing to Boop out the gate -- but that's not a requirement. If you don't want to meme with your survivors, a quick attack will let them know you mean business, lol.

I'm not an "expert" by any measure, but I have played hundreds of rounds as her, and I've made it to Rank 1 playing the majority of matches as her. She can compete, even against very good survivors, and she's a lot of fun to play.

Other people have recommended him, and I concur: the best Pig player I know of is a player by the name of Scorpionz -- he has a whole Pig guide on his channel (here -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UOlX6azR3A&ab_channel=Scorpionz). While I don't follow everything he says to do, I think there's more than one way to play the Pig successfully, and I have learned a lot watching him (particularly about using the Ambush Attack).

Hope some of that helps -- and good luck playing The Pig! 🙂

Ah, my friend, I expected no less from you. Your Pig gameplays show me that you know what you are talking about, and I will make sure to remember your tips.

    Thanks for the help!

The Pig nerf is going to give me nightmares tonight.

I consider Scorpionz a mentor of mine. I've been watching him for years perfect his own playstyle, and borrowed some of his tactics to perfect my own. But unlike Scorpionz I tend to focus on objectivs and stall rather than brute force and constant dashing. Not that I've forgotten or don't use any of the dashing, but theres a time and place, but his little trick on certain loops to hide blood stain and double back ( I steal that ######### whenever I get a chance) . I usually play her as a snowbally Killer, stacking punishment on top of punishment, if I can get an inch I'll take a mile until I feel comfortable enough to LET survivors do things. And I'm not gonna lie, my first time playing pig I was pretty bad, and had games about as bad as yours.

Scorpionz usually tends to run enduring and pallet break perks. I tend to run Thano+dying light and objective gimmicks. If I catch an item in lobby I don't wanna deal with pop franklins, if I can detect a lot of heal sweat, I run all that plus sloppy butcher. Tampered Timer and crate of gears for sweat squads. But for normal matches where I can tell there are solo's I'll run a blind trap+mangled or an exhaustion trap+crate of gears, or blindness traps+knock out for SWF's. Get funky with it and creative. Her versatility in perks and add ons knows no bounds....except for the dogshit barbed wire add ons....we don't talk about those.

After Thano+dying light I usually will take another 3rd objective strat perk, especially ones that are false objectives like haunted ground, or Iron Maiden. Or thano+dying light+BBQ if I wanna be oppressive and keep up constant pressure. People always sleep on thano+dying light but against a killer who already has a secondary objective stall built into your kit those precious seconds saved by the perks combined can completely and utterly put survivors off their A game, especially if you know how to chase and end loops effectively. Above all else though as all the loopy crazy ######### is going on in a match I'm keeping track in my head of where survivors working on jigsaw boxes are, where I should position myself on the map to corner survivors, who I should chase next, how much time I have between chases and boxes, which of the survivors is trying to be a hotshot, and who of them is being altruistic. Overly altruistic survivors are my favorite because they just love to hook swap, <---which makes thano+dying light stack to the moon. And if you can....make survivors play against themselves more than you. Having perks and combinations that make survivors a hazzard to each other helps get into their heads, and can get into their heads enough that they make dumbass mistakes.

I can usually get about 7-8 dying light stacks plus a consistent thano pressure by the end of a match, which is 40+% ######### off and stop this damn game worth of slow down and about 2 hooks by the time the first gen is done. Thats 10%+10% slow down by the time 4 gens are still up. Then you just keep stacking and running people through traps even if it means putting the same person back on another bear trap. All about stalls and time with my playstyle. Meanwhile Scorpionz could run around buck naked, but because he's gotten so adept with chases and her dash, he really does make it look easier than it actually is, and some of the dash plays I've seen him do defy logic. But thats really the only 2 viable ways to play her. You're either charging into people like a bull and making 360 no scope chases and dashes and disrespecting pallets, or you play quietly and use stalling and pressure to get into peoples heads. Body plays vs passive mind plays.

She is an M1 killer but so is like 70% of the roster. If you already know how to operate an M1 killer then that skill will translate over to her with the bonus of having this chaotic mini game survivors have to deal with in the middle of it as well as on command stealth.

People put her at lower tiers compared to other killers (usually because they honestly suck at her and M1 killers in general) But back in my day we didn't have all these extra attack powers to carry bad killers through loops they should already know how to handle with M1 and no power crutch.

If you're used to having a power to crutch you during chases don't play pig or any M1 killer. If you know the fundamentals of all these different loop tiles, she can be a god in your hands.

Side note I'm having to take a break from this game for a bit cause my M1 button on my mouse is broken, ######### up all my lunges.....thats how much M1 killers abuse that button....

Hey, glad to see you here! You are the one who motivated me to play her in the first place!

That is a very extensive guide and I appreciate the help! As soon as I get to P3 I will make sure to go after the perks and add-ons you've mentioned.

And don't worry, I only play M1 killers so that is not an issue. I hope I become a Pig God eventually, who knows...

  • @MadLordJack said:

Unfortunately, Pig is one of the killers that's on the "physically cannot play" list for me because people really do just predrop filler pallets and slam gens before running rings around you at long walls and killer shack (because now us survivors know the right angles and timing to make killer shack insane again).

I really, really liked playing Pig, I learned everything I could about her dash, but she's just an m1 killer the moment the mildly unsafe pallet goes down.

Yeah, it is something I've noticed too. Makes me angry at the Bloodweb for not giving me Brutal Strength.

But I shall not give up, no matter how challenging it is.

    Thank you.

The Forums and DBD have been a large part of my life for two years now. I'm aiming to significantly reduce my presence on both. I won't be gone completely from the Forums, but I may only comment once every few days for a while, then drop out entirely.

Same thing with the game, a few games here and there until I drop out fully.

The game has been negatively trending for some time, and I've been struggling to stay unbiased and continue my support for it.

I am sorry to read this, my friend. Though not for the same reasons, I understand how it is to be frustrated with DBD.

I hope you enjoy your break, and somehow find a reason to return to the game.

This is literally what happened to me while trying out Myers.

It is complicated, isn't it? I know this kind of situation is pretty normal when you are trying to learn a new killer, but I wasn't expecting it to be that bad.

  • @SilentPill said:

I guess I don’t get what you mean by “learning the killer” since pig is pretty much pure M1.

The only real decision to make is to tunnel head traps or not.

If you don’t have combat straps + video tape the lunge is useless at all but the shortest loops. And I would much rather use addons to pump up the head traps. You are already just playing an M1 killer and relying on luck so you might as well go all the way and have them kill people for you if you get lucky.

I usually just do monitor + 2 chase perks and just run around never crouching. Even if you have information perks to try and sneak up on gens she will get crushed by spine chill so it’s usually not worth attempting.

This cannot possibly be all there is to Piggy, especially when this "decision" would never cross my mind, as I don't tunnel unless absolutely necessary.

But I suppose an alternate playstyle is not a terrible idea. Of course I don't even have perks for that, but it is what it is. Thanks for the suggestion, I will make sure to test it eventually.

  • It already is a problem. This damn annoying tactic shouldn't be a thing.

  • @SilentPill said:

I don’t think so, I actually rarely run across nurse these days. Spirit is spammed along with Huntress but I usually see a decent amount of variety.

Old DBD red ranks was Nurse/Billy or killers running Moris.

Survivors were pretty much invincible with balanced landing and exhaustion recovering while running which is why you almost only saw Nurse.

Well, I don't. Of course our experiences are not the exact same, but from what I've seen the variety has barely changed.

While the balance is better now, the usual annoying tactics were replaced with even more annoying tactics, while we lost other things we loved.

Old DBD was better on every metric, with the sole exception of balance.

  • Glad to see. I thought about it, but I think Trickster is slightly better because his power can actually down you.

I don’t know how people would think the game was better back then.

As survivor it was like Nurse, Nurse, Nurse, Instasaw Billy, Nurse, Nurse, Nurse, Nurse with Ebony Mori, etc.

As killer it was “lose entire perk slot to bamboozle every game” or have fun running the infinites.

    Replaced by:

Nurse, Nurse, Nurse, Nurse, Stridor Spirit, Nurse and Nurse.

As a killer you better play someone with an M2 Attack or have fun with survivors holding W.

At least back then we had better events, better atmosphere, Old Billy, Old Freddy, and the list goes on.

It was not perfect, but it was much better.

  • It definitely isn't just you. I probably the most old fashioned player here.

He just needed some QoL changes.

But like with the famous Wraith Cube, they didn't ask mains what they wanted.

Precisely, his initial nerf reverted would be a good start. Old Freddy was much stronger than perceived to be and a full rework was not needed.

  • They kinda do tho.

  • Well, it seems like a good suggestion but personally I would not use it.

It is extremely rare for me to buy cosmetics, and I like Prestige the way it is. Although I suppose many players would like such change.

  • Well, I once thought it was a decent map. After the rework I hate all Coldwind maps equally.

  • No, because somehow infinites were replaced with "holding W" and both of them make Bloodlust a necessity.

    Alright, let me rephrase.

May I ask your reasoning? Won't even try to dispute it and cause an argument. Just wondering.

    Now we are talking!

Myers has stealth and insta-downs as base kit. He can choose between different approaches, not to mention that he is extremely deadly with the right builds and add-ons.

Legion has nothing but a power which can't even down you. Not saying that he is completely useless, but his power is much weaker than everyone else's because he has nothing going for him.

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

You're going to have a hard time convincing me Myers is better than Legion... Tombstone aside.

I am not going to convince you of anything. This is just my opinion, which you are free to disagree with.

  • It looks like it, but maybe there might be an extra detail or two that we don't know about.

  • @CashelP14 said:

I disagree with a few of the placements but that's just a difference of opinion.

Really just wanted to say I appreciate the fact you had your lowest tier as B and you had mini tiers inside each tier. Usually most people have their tiers include a D tier which I believe no killers are in. Lowest I think anyone is, is C tier but no one is below that.

Mine even has an F 👀

  • Because some people are salty, that is all.

  • Yes, it is possible. Gen Slowdown perks are powerful, but they cannot hold the gens forever. Your skill is important too.

  • Well, they've promised extra effort on Halloween and Anniversary events, but from what we've seen so far this promise was easily broken. The event seems to be a copy from last year, which is extremely disappointing.

Of course there might be one or two extra details that we don't know yet, but what I've seen so far doesn't look like a pretty good job.

  • Yes I did. Not only that, I've lived it, as I've unfortunately played reworked Coldwind many times. And just like that I've played with actual infinites many times in the past.

    This video may help:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAixJzL3o2M

This video may be very old, but surprisingly enough some of those structures took quite a long time to get fixed.

Edit: For context purposes, I started playing DBD in 2018. Things were not as insane as shown in the video, but many infinites were still there.

  • Except that none of those are infinite loops. I remember actual infinites all too well and they were much, MUCH stronger than this.
