A very tiny aspect of it remains, but you can barely notice it. Leaving the horror aesthetic aside, on a horror game, was a very bad idea.
-
A recycled event is simply unable to deliver much.

Good gravy YAASSSSSSSSS 😍
I knew someone would agree :)
Of course I want the legend himself back, but another unique pearl amidst a generic sea would be nice.
-
Such catastrophes were bound to happen either way. Lockdown just made them worse.
-
All Seeing Blood could indeed see a change, and maybe even Wraith's base kit needs come tweaks. But it is debatable.
-
Honestly it is not that bad. I never had any problems with it.
-
Well, most people here seem to be going for builds, so I would like to share one:
And right now you are probably thinking:
"General, this is the weirdest Freddy build I've ever seen".
And guess what? I agree, this would probably be the weirdest Freddy build ever, because it wasn't meant for his current power.
Now, go back to the past. Think about Old Freddy and how his power worked, and most importantly think about what those add-ons did. Now you understand this build.
Basically Jumpscare Myers, but much more fun to play as and against.
Edit: Of course there were countless different options for this build, I am only sharing one here.
-
If they wanted to recycle an event, they could've gone with Scorching Summer BBQ, which definitely needs another chance.
-
It might be a distant dream, but I would like to see someone as unique as Old Freddy was.
-
When it comes to the event, the only thing I want is to Prestige my Piggy.

Is it because of the constant leaning back and forth behind walls so you can't reveal him or because the reveal mechanic is kinda iffy?
Both. And much more.
There is just somethin about him that gets on my nerves, ever since his PTB.
-
I would take 1000 Spirits at the same time before going against Ghostface.

nemesis and trickster I agree.
Granted:
With Nemesis I have to agree with pixelbrush's assessment that he's a killer for new players to show them the ropes, in a way.
Trickster is a mess. He's all the weaknesses of Deathslinger, Huntress, Clown and Plague combined without their strengths, and he's be better of with a complete overhaul giving him a different power on the whole.
But Deathslinger and Twins?
To me they stay the prime example of people's unwillingness to change their loopy-jukey-genrush MO. Slinger's main counter is in his map and backstory: He's a bounty hunter, the counter is stealth. Will the matches take longer? sure, but it's a killer where you can show off how well you know what killers can see, where to hide etc.
The issue with him is more that we don't have dynamic map creation, nor are the devs brave enough to bar killers like him from using perks that make him unfair (like M&A)
And twins? similar issue: people are not used to killers they can't face with one MO, and Twins also do get some unfair advantages on some maps (while on others survivors get unfair advantages against them).
So, the fault isn't on these killers, it's on the community and on the devs unwillingness to really shake things up (maybe out of fear of the community)
They have counters, but that doesn't them fun imho. They are unfun because their powers are unfun, not OP.

Thanks Dad. What I meant what was unique about a certain set of maps (farm, macmillan, etc.) seems less now. Or maybe its just that they look like #########, who knows.
Yeah, I know it all too well. But looking at old pictures really help with that.
I was just trying to help.
-
I mean...Deathslinger, Nemesis, Trickster, and Twins are pretty unfun to go against, in my opinion.
Though obviously not for the reasons Tofu mentioned.
EDIT: And obviously Ghostface. is the most unfun of them all.

Somehow they managed to make the maps look worse. Feelsbadman. I feel like each map used to have a unique feel to it, now they all blur together for me.

Who doesn't like T H I C C?
-
Deleting it sounds extreme, but reverting its rework is a logical thing to do.
-
I think this is the popular opinion, and rightfully so. The Realm Beyond is, for the lack of a better word, a monster. It destroyed everything it touched, sent our favorite maps to hell and replaced them with the little abominations we now have.
Now, the concept of a "good map" is nothing but a memory. A memory which we will always hold close to our hearts.
Damn you, stupid Realm Beyond, damn you!
-
Cry
-
Blood Warden.
For someone who started with the ANOES DLC, this perk was a blessing. And there was no EGC back then, so I could use it pretty much every match as a last resort.
-
BBQ and WGLF are a necessity, obviously, but the one perk which is a must for me happens to be Brutal Strength. It feels so slow without it.
-
Neither. Doctor is mid-tier, at best, while Freddy is in the bottom of the A Tier.
Not strong enough to be OP.

I play this game since 2017 and this is the most "depressing" time I've ever seen in DBD tbh. The game just feels weird nowadays, with all these disappointing updates in a row. Even the Darkness Among Us chapter felt more lively because everybody was united in the universal hate for Legion.
I felt this on a spiritual level, except mine would be 2018 instead of 2017.
-
Killer: 3 or 4 kills.
Survivor: Me and at least 1 teammate managed to escape.
-
I know how it is. I absolutely love what this game once was, but despise what it currently is.
-
If the map hadn't been disable I would've gotten it by now.

That was back when they didn't have as many players, the grind for bloodwebs was even worse, and they actually sorta gave a #########. Now, they have a ton of new players thanks to RE that they're terrified of losing so quickly, so they believe the grind will help keep them around (because their logic is you don't want to stop playing DbD after grinding so much and spending so many bloodpoints building your characters)
It still is a weird logic tho. We need more BP.
-
As long as I can maintain the illusion that this is the same game I fell in love with back in 2018, I will stick around. If that means being here until the end, then so be it.
-
I hope you are right.

It definitely was.
Hatch stand-offs were fairly common.
Not in my experience, my friend.
Which could've been entirely different from yours.

I wish the Devs would go all out on animations in this game and give us mori's akin to MK Fatalities. Mori's just seem lazy.
I agree completely. We need more violence, more blood.

Same. Experiencing what I did would've given a whole new perspective.

This is my first year playing DBD, what is Blood Hunt(s)?
Blood Hunts are a recurring Event that often happens alongside special occasions or holidays. Those Events boosts all Bloodpoint gains post-trial by a specific factor. There are 3 versions of it:
-A Blood Rush is light-version of a Blood Hunt, but with a longer duration. During the Event, Bloodpoints gained during a trial are multiplied by 1.5 after it has been completed.
-An actual Blood Hunt boosts all Bloodpoint gains post-trial by a factor of 2.
-The rarest of them is the Blood Feast. The Blood Feast is an event that currently happened once. During the event, Bloodpoints gained during a match were tripled after the match had been completed. It took place for 4 consecutive days back in 2017.

It was pretty common. Unless the survivor got to a hatch first or the killer is rather lax about the situation, it'd be a hatch standoff
@Soulpaw said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2305464#Comment_2305464
it was pretty common actually. especially for new players who are immersed. people will walk soooooo slowly around the edge of the map to get to a exit gate/hatch and it would just drag on and on just waiting for the new survivor to find the exit gate and stuff. It was just awful experience to just wait and once they hear the heart beat, they hide for another 5 minutes and it just wasnt a good time.
I doubt it. I never had a single problem with survivors holding the game hostage, and I've spoken with many people who also haven't seen such things happening.
But then again, we haven't faced the exact same people. There is a huge possibility that our Endgame experiences were completely different.

I love what this game once was. I hate what it currently is.

Beware your fears...

Yes. I play DBD exclusively for the great game it once was, not for the mess it currently is.
No failed updates can change that.

Cease from existence :)

@Seraphor said:

It does it brilliantly. It gives a hard cap on the length of the game.
It IS survive or die. But, you still need time to be able to take action to achieve that end.
You realistically still need time to be able to cross the map and reach the exit gate, at a minimum, and if someone is hooked, you realistically still need time to be able to cross the map, make the rescue, and cross the map again to reach the exit gate. 2-4 minutes is the perfect amount of time for that.
And if you can't camp and protect a hook for just 4 minutes, I don't know what to tell you.
Taking my opinion into consideration, I never thought I would someone call the EGC "brilliant".
But hey, to each their own :) Just something I felt like pointing out.

Just because it didn't happen all the time doesn't mean it was unnecessary. Holding the game hostage indefinitely shouldn't be possible.
And it wasn't. They are at the gates? Go force them out.
They are hiding on the map? Well, if you find them they are dead.
EDIT: There is something I forgot to point out.
The lack of EGC was healthy for the game, much more than people realize. Back then, Endgame was just as important as the rest of the game.
Now, Endgame is nothing but an encouragement for scummy tactics and rushed actions.
-
Just a bad mechanic which shouldn't even existed. It is ludicrous that it once presented itself as a necessity.
I am positive that holding the game hostage was not as common as perceived to be.
-
Always was.
