  • I sympathize with you, I even made a comment on the day it was announced ST was leaving (to myself of course) was that I was sad new players won't get to play these characters... so I sympathize. is all I'll say really.

Yes, it's unfair but it's not our fault we have the DLC characters before you got into the game. :/

  • Nope because I don't entertain them for longer than two sentences on their salt. I don't care, I'm not going to join any vc that's not pre planned by a group I already know, that's so stupid to me. My ego isn't that high to join it because they're looking to soothe their fractured and bruised ego in abusing me over vc. I wouldn't ever allow the chance. Now vc messages..... can't do much about those except ignore it and move on. Their clownery already shines through with their messages and how stupid they look, that's enough for me.

I don't accept friend requests either after games. I've had salty teammates and survivors when I'm killer go out of their way when I had my stuff off to private just to send me salt. It seems to make them madder though when you don't engage in it and remind them the stress of the video game and too much sodium isn't good on their health and their health is important to finish it off with a sincere hope they have a better day and games. Even after the good ole, "enjoy your ban" comment just because I played Bubba.... No camping, no tunneling just.... Bubba. I got reported for... what? lol still don't know. Just chainsawing I suppose. People will get upset over the smallest things and the messaging channel is their best way to do it and unlike PC players luxury, the host lobby chat box doesn't time out so they can be salty for a long ass time with free reign and I've had them go on for ages later about one match. It's absolutely insane.

If it bothers you that much, I'd recommend you just set everything on private and enjoy your games that way.

The progression on Gen is necessary, no need to be specific % though. There are scenario like this:

Dwight on hook, Meg in chase.

Clau with 75% Gen, Jake with 50% Gen. In this case, Jake should be the one to go for Clau to complete her Gen. If Clau goes for unhook, its possible for Killer to disturb the Gen.

The idea is to closer the gaps between Swf & Solo as possible, but not buffing Swf. I know not every Solo will catch the strategy. But at least there are tools for better players to use.

How would you go about showing other survivors how far a gen is progressed to go for the appropriate save?

We have ton of nurse threads with survivors arguing with each other how nurse is broken and every part of her kit should be nerfed. You know it, because you post in every single one of them.

You are probably new here because we have already tons of rework nurse threads. It’s becoming boring at this point to see the same spam over and over on these forums.

    Apologies for my late reply.

Yes, I am aware. Just like there's a billion of "buff solo queue / nerf swf" posts. You can always just choose not to read them if they're causing that much of a discrepancy of a topic. :)

I dont really want Basekit Kindred. Solo need a status on everyone who is on Gen, in chase, opening a Gate, doing a Hex. Thats mostl the info Solo need.

If further, showing the estimate progression of their Gen (25-50-75%). And showing who are the closest to the hooked survivor, thats all.

Basekit Kindred can be totally removed with Fear monger.

That would require people to actually look at the HUD which is how sometimes you see one person doing a gen with one hooked and two slugged or two hooked and one slug. Hasn't happened to me in ages but ignorance to some people is bliss. But I do agree the vast majority that does look at the HUD need more info than they already get. I don't think gen progression to be shown is necessary though. Just more HUD info is enough.

  • I don't use Twitter and knowing the Cesspool it is, I'm not so sure how I feel about this info since I play her almost as one of my mains.

  • @Murgleïs said:

Lmao another nurse thread complaining and not giving any constructive criticism.

If you want to know how she can be changed, do a research…

Was about to comment this is what the thread is for but @Pulsar beat me to it. Lol You sound so goofy when you don't read the thread and just see "Nurse."

  • I don't think there's any plans for that and I wouldn't want it. I personally don't care about endgame chats unless someone messages me first which is one reason I find people who go out of their way to send salt to be silly people.

I almost wish endgame chats didn't exist because they just spread toxicity. Sometimes I'm not so sure the positive moments are worth it.

  • That's a long penalty....

It does reset as far as I'm aware. The highest I think is 48 hours. Someone can correct me on it but I think that's the maximum. One minute for the first two (?) offenses and then five, then so on.

  • If I play 10 games of solo survivor which I always do now since I don't swf anymore then I win about 3-4 out of 10 of those matches unless I'm on a hot streak then it's roughly like 5 out of 6. Not bad. I can't tell if I've just gotten better as a player or if the match making for me improved with teammates and the killers I go against. Unless there's a DC or rage quit on hook, my games are usually very close.

  • It's perfectly reasonable and understandable someone wants to play a game they queued up for.

  • @Sycamore said:

Honestly I see the locker thing as an exploit, and should be reportable. Like they know what they are doing, you know what they are doing, and that isn't how the add-on is intended. They need to add a mori animation for Shape pulling a survivor from a locker. It could be a horrifying animation of Shape just stabbing them through the locker door.

Honestly, the best chance you'll get at achieving that tombstone achievement are against newer players or players seriously outpositioned due to poor foresight and planning. Anyone who's played against it before and has a brain would plan their encounters with a Tombstone Myers around locker areas or staying on gens, blowing them up to prevent progress (though the lockers are better) as looping is just too damn risky. It's not fair to call it an exploit or want it to be reportable. It wouldn't be fair to make it to where there's absolutely no counter to an insanely strong addon. Asking for there to be no counter is basically asking to make Myers impossible to win against or play against. There'd be DC's every game because every Myers would run the addon.

The fact lockers are a counter and staying on a gen is the only thing not making survivors DC and the only thing that gives the addon balance. Without a counter, you're asking for an automatic win without effort and it's selfish. Sure it sucks to be struggling on the Evil Incarnate challenge or getting value if you just want to use the addon but you aren't owed or entitled to those kills. You still have to play the game, you still have to work for those kills.

  • I've been really chilling and vibing with Wraith lately. I just like his bing bongs. It used to be Pig as I used to main her but I just have to be in the mood as of late to play her or I'm not interested. If I'm not playing Wraith, I'm probably playing Demo. I adore playing Demo, his head nods are the best and his chase music. Next to them is Onryo. Yes, she's weak, no, I don't care and just enjoy her. She gives me hope one day to have Kayako (The Grudge / Ju on) in the game and I have some ideas already how to incorporate her to make her stand out from Sadako. Or Spirit. I already have the best hearing in my family so Spirit's pretty easy for me - easier now since the IW rework so I don't have to think too hard with the chases.

Once like every 3-6 months I get the itch to play Clown. Oddly enough only that once when I shake off the rust off my Clown do I get salt. It's the only time I can count on some salt being in my inbox then my following games with Clown is a stompfest on me and I get humbled real quick I actually suck with Clown then I don't play him again for another 3-6 months. Lol true story, real cycle.

I need to spend some time again with my killers, give them some love. They got kinda neglected this season. :(

........... Killers actually are using the snowmen? Interesting. Any game I play, it's an Esports. Try to have a little fun with the killer in a snowman (especially in a game with 2 dcs at 4 gens) and what do I get? Slugged. Yeah, real fun from the killers.

The chances of winning though under those circumstances or even draw when there's 2 survivors left are very miniscule and pretty uncommon. But killers turning 0k to 2 or even 3k in endgame is way more possible and common.

Well, that's why I said really difficult. I know they're slim occurrences. But still possible. It's always a feels good when it happens no matter which role you're playing. :)

Holy...the Tribunal has been gone since 2014... I dunno what server you were playing but EU is as toxic as ever (had been worse before the separation). People running it mid or AFKing is more annoying and tilting than being toxic imo.

The thing is 2 survivors cannot turn a game with 3 gens still un-repaired. A killer with a few hooks though, is significantly stronger at the end game because there are usually no resources left anymore. Definitely end - game perks make a turn around more possible, but when survivors bring end-game perks they might never make use of them. A hatch win isn't a real win though because there is no MMR increase, it's at most neutral.

Most of the time people I get matched with cannot chat because I have crossplay on. As for people dodging, the people who care about winning already do it if they see low prestige. But most don't care. Now the questions is, how much dodging would increase. People who already dodge will dodge regardless and I think they kind of should have the right with the matchmaking being as bad as it is atm. If it worked significantly better, dodging would be harder to defend.

Hope it's alright to give some two cents on something here regarding, "The thing is 2 survivors cannot turn a game with 3 gens still un-repaired." So I think it's absolutely possible. Just really, really difficult. As you said, there's barely any resources left if people are dead (unless your teammates haven't been using pallets then it's a different story) but I remember once being in a match against an Artist months ago on the Chapel map and someone DC'd at the start of the game and we got to 2-3 gens somewhere in there and I gave Artist the chase of my life and I was lucky enough to have teammates to actually have done gens while I was being chased. I got left sadly when she finally caught me but it was worth it since the other two got out. I've had games where it looked like we were toast but somehow came back and won. Which is partially why I love dbd: each trial is unique and anything can happen!

trust me i have been playing pig since release i don't need you to psycho analyze my build

slack off in a snowman for 2 gens, put a trap on a dwight, he dies from it because others are doing gens faster than light

3 other survivors 3 gen themselvs and no longer can win what's complicated about this exactlly?

oh i forgot mention that was in 4 mins..not sweating at all

put a trap on a dwight, he dies from it because others are doing gens faster than light

Not actually true. I'd recommend you take another look at your addons and their descriptions. You're running Bag of Gears and Tampered Timer. The only way Dwight's death would've been a result and consequence of "gen rushing" is if you were running Jigsaw's Annotated Plan addon, you're not. That addon states:

    • Each time a Generator is completed, the Death Timer of all active Reverse Bear Traps is reduced by -10 seconds.

Tampered Timer only reduces the timer's default timer. It makes it tick faster regardless of if gens get done. Gens have zero to do with this addon.

    Crate of Gears:

    • Increases the Attaching speed of Reverse Bear Traps by +50 %.
    • Decreases the Search speed of Jigsaw Boxes by -14 %.

In short, the build killed Dwight, not the gens. You killed Dwight, not his teammates or the objective which is what one of those addons punishes.

Though, to be honest, that's not what your whole post is about, is it? The mori, the build, you wanted kills why else would you run it including the mori? You weren't out for fun. If you were, you wouldn't have brought the mori or the build. What I'm not understanding is why want kills then complain about people not wanting to have fun on the forums when your whole build is I want kills then you're here proclaiming the opposite? People have explained to you why the mori is the polar opposite to survivors of friendliness, recommend you switch up your build if you're genuinely out to be a friendly killer but you aren't listening nor do you actually care. No one and I mean no one is going to take a look at that secret offering, realize the probability of it being a mori is 90% and think time to farm!

Either change your build or don't complain when survivors try to actually, you know, survive.

What’s the limit on bond? I saw a mikaela pretty far away on the game the other day and she had bond.

Tier 1 is 20 meters, tier 2 is 28 and tier 3 is 36. If Mikaela was also running Open Handed (Ace perk) then the tier 3 range extends 16 meters with tier 3 Open Handed. The total being 52 meters which is pretty big! It's bigger than Wesker's TR.

But at least as Killer you can facecamp without Terrorradius now (without needing Insidious)

Not really. Certain perks can give the face camping killer away. Perks that give tokens based on terror radius ruins this strat.

Am I the only person who ran into people playing around with the snowmen? Also doing the game, but snowmen.

All my games were miserable. No killer interacted with the snowmen, they were just in the mindset they need their 4k no matter the cost. My teammates just did gens like any other day. I'm a bit salty about others having a better time with players playing around with the snowmen but eh, it is what it is.

  • @HugTheHag said:

I might kill the regular hours players and let the newbie go, or if they're all prettty new, just be friendly after I get some hooks.

When you're that new, and if matchmaking apparenrly screws you over like that, you're probably dying over and over, and one friendly game or hatch here and there might make the difference between a horribly discouraging couple of hours and an overall okay experience.

I remember some of my first opponents being extremely nice when I started playing around the anniversary this year, on both sides, and it really shaped my experience of the game and attitude going forward.

This can be a super discouraging game when you're casual or new, and sometimes being a little nice goes a long way.

For the most part, I agree. I remember when I was in ranks 16-20, I had some nice killers who realized I had just bought and began playing the game which I super appreciate looking back on it. The only downside I could see to a new player getting a few nice killers and this actually happened to me for a bit until I got over myself and got out of this mentality is a bit of entitlement to expect nice treatment just because a few killers gave you hatch back to back.

I'll be completely honest, I used to be one of those survivors who got mad a killer didn't respect the 4% when I kobe'd, didn't give me hatch though I didn't wiggle, let me go when it was a slaughterfest, mad at endgame camping / tunneling, etc that I developed quite a bit of an entitled mentality for a bit. Obviously, not every player will end up like that but some will. I think it's also important to teach new players that yes, it's nice of them to do these things but you shouldn't expect it. Every killer is different and they don't have to be nice to you if they don't want to. If they don't, it's not the end of the world. Playstyles and how some people are just suck sometimes. Lol

I played killer the whole day. I literally ONLY encountered 3-4man swf with toolboxes and map offerings - no wonder killers tryhard if their experience is the same as mine.

It's not just the survivors, let's not fool ourselves here. It's a cycle. Some innocent person decides to play solo for a bit because hey, it's the event and killers play like what's complained about and in turn, that survivor says to hell with this and gets in a 2+ man stack on comms. Vice versa, some chill killer just wants to play killer for the event, experience the snowmen a little and the 2+ man stack into what killers complain about.

People with a swf are lucky to play they way they can in a 2+ man stack and possibly win, killers can do what they want in the game to possibly win (camping, tunneling, slugging, etc) meanwhile solo queue players are at the bottom of the totem pole for misery. I don't find none of how the killers are playing enjoyable as a solo player but there's nothing I can do besides go next.

I just don't know which side starts it the second the event opens.

  • Welcome to dbd events where the killers and survivors act like someone's holding their mother hostage. It's one of the only reasons I dread the events. I've only played 3 matches so far but my first one was a tunneling at 5 gens Wraith, the other was a Trapper (though tbf, he just played well so we'll exclude him) and just ended was a Hag with the silent traps and hitting people on hook on top of doing what Hag does best: camp. Coincidentally both Hag and Wraith brought BP offerings. -.-

This argument is so dumb. They don't have to play, but when you queue up you are commiting to the game and deserve to be punished for leaving.

While this is true and I agree, you can't force players to play. Doesn't have to mean to DC - players can just not play in other ways: AFK, throw pallets, jump in and out of lockers, etc.

  • Most killers don't care about flashlights.

Who cares if they want to bring Franklins and Lightborn? I run Franklins on Hag to counter flashlights which can disable her whole power in seconds. Nemesis players might bring Franklins as flashlights counter his zombies. Some people find it fun to have a build where it takes your item(s). The more lobbies item heavy the better. If it doesn't already have a name, I'd call it the Grinch build where I take your gifts this Christmas (It IS December). Which can include the offering to reduce your resources.

Not everything is about the fear of flashlight saves.

  • But if people stop talking about Sadako, how will there ever be a chance for buffs? Lol

Jokes aside, I do wish her condemmed did something more. Ring drawing basekit and perhaps passive stacks when in proximity of a TV. Which, those are usually by gens. I don't think it's necessary for me to explain the buff / idea behind this. It's not much but it's a starting point of what could make her better.

  • Bioshock is my last dream chapter.... BHVR make it happen! Any part of Rapture as the map, I'd die!

That's the video. He highlighted the devs post about cheating and exploiting in the beginning of it. So my husband took it as he was saying that locker jumping on tombstone Myers was an exploit.

I rewatched the video of the one @ohheyitsbobcat was referring to and there's nothing about highlighting exploits? Just an opera gx promo. The one from 3 weeks ago if you check out his videos section is the revenge against a toxic streamer where he does highlight in that video about exploits about 5 minutes and a half in. Where did the Myers thing come about when there's no Myers in that video??? This is why I'm confused. Lol

I digress though, it's not bannable or an exploit. Mandy commented on this in August after doing some searching regarding an answer:

Yeah, I agree and I have a hard time believing OP, unless it's some other Coconut or it's been taken out of context or something. I mean, Coco has a video from last month where he hides in a locker over and over from a Tombstone Myers in 2v1 and they manage an escape. Seems weird he'd change stances like that.

To OP, would you mind posting the video?

This is why I'm confused as well. I've seen that video (amazing vid, I love it lol) and one titled Michael Myers is vey angy where a Myers actually got VERY salty Coco jumped into a locker when he tier 3'd and couldn't mori him. Very salty.

I typed into the search dbd coconutrts + myers and nothing recent came up involving a dev? Even in his uploads, I couldn't find anything so I too am curious for the link. Lol But I'm inclined to be on the boat that it's a different Coco or a misunderstanding somewhere because I've never seen or heard of Coco having that take.

  • Wait, Coconut said this? Or did he just post a video of someone else talking about this?

If it was Coconut.... I'm going to be surprised as trying to claim it's bannable to counter an insta kill addon with no hook states sounds a bit entitled in my opinion. Something I never associated him with.

The "it's bannable / an exploit" argument in my head sounds like this to me: Let me mori you! No! You can't jump into a locker, that isn't fair! I wanna kill you, Let me kill you! :'((((

  • I'm so glad I don't put in a single dime in this game anymore. I spent $10 ages ago for one rift and I've stored that 1k like nuts for rifts only.

Really disappointing news. I was actually considering getting the Yun-Jin one as it was my favorite in the group but oh well.

  • I'd love to agree with this post as I mostly play solo survivor. Though I can't. Why? It's a vicious cycle in this game. Toxicity runs rampant on both sides. Neither side cares about the other's fun so therefore, they rush gens, tunnel, flashlight save / click, slug, etc.

If you chill out with gens and let the killer get some hooks, it can result in a scenario where it snowballs and the killer just slugs people out for no reason or repeatedly hit them on hook because it's been a rough game and they're gonna make you feel how frustrated they are and it'll then make the survivors regret being nice. On the killer's side, if they let survivors go easy after it's essentially a slaughter and they feel bad, survivors will stay until the very last second at the exit to teabag and waste everyone's time, including their own when the killer didn't have to let them live and will make them regret being nice or the killer takes their foot off the gas a little after a brutal beatdown and the survivors make a genuine comeback and then do tbags, clicks, etc with some finishing bags at the exit or there's still endgame abuse even after playing nice. The result of these outcomes is gen rushing, camping / tunneling / slugging. Obviously these outcomes aren't every time you decide to be nice but the point is the other side will usually find a way to be ungrateful and ruin it so is it any surprise people just don't care anymore?

  • The DC penalties are confirmed off? That would certainly explain the slew of DCs today as both killer and survivor.

It's either pulling from well beyond the stated 350 max range, or 350 is too wide of a range to pull from. Matches have been mostly awful since they made the changes. Arguably worse.

The major issue for solo survivors hasn't changed. If you're a good player, you'll get one good teammate and one or two absolutely horrendous teammates that make the game unwinnable.

I can't boost my MMR when a teammate with three tier 2 perks lets Pain Resonance/DMS proc 4(!) times in a single match and gets found injured out in the open near a hooked player twice. That's an unwinnable game.

According to some people, if you can't run the killer for 5 gens and do all 5 gens for your incompetent teammates and still escape then "you're not as good as you think you are." 🙄But that is true. Those are the types of games I've had as well. The icing game on the cake for me that has made me quit playing for the day was this match against a Bubba and Claudette got hooked in the basement. I waited until I knew for sure he was in chase, no one was going to get her so I go, injured. I have BT. Instead of making it a free escape out of the basement, she goes into a freaking locker, Bubba comes back and I'm screwed because Claudette didn't bother to take the BT hit to get us out of basement. So naturally I go down and hooked, she threw the game.... for one... head on stun.... that failed. He gets her before she even gets to the basement steps and she dcs.

I'm honestly so done playing this game in my free time. I've made up my mind I'm only playing during events and rifts solely for the challenges because I do like this game but the only truly good days I had was during the MMR testings and it's gone and I'm back to just pure unfun matches. And I was very excited about the changes to but it doesn't feel like nothing's changed or it's gotten worse, I can't tell.

  • I've played today to see how the MMR changes felt and it feels absolutely no different. Still getting matched with bad teammates and sweaty killers. Or situations like your caps above. Absolutely no changes I feel like. What exactly, did they change?

I don't feel the conclusion really touches on the core of the problem.

As survivor in particular, the current system thinks I'm very low-skilled as I don't play selfish. I have spent quite a bit of time stuck in low-MMR-hell, because I die a lot with my playstyle - I take chases, I try to save in EGC, try to cleanse NOED and save the last person, even if everyone else has left etc. Sometimes it pays off but I also die often, especially so as I get paired with people that do not know to bodyblock when rescued with BT near an open exit gate. 😭 I also find that I have been dying on first hook more than I used to before the skill-based system was introduced as I'm basically stuck in a loop where I'm the only one running the killer but eventually they will catch up with me, my teammates don't pop gens and are too scared to come and rescue. So my MMR goes down.

Now the system will supposedly be tighter, so I will be further down that spiral and I don't see how this conclusion will improve the experience for people that play altruistic in solo queue and hence die/MMR goes down.

These are my games in a nutshell as I too, do not have a selfish playstyle.

  • Billy, Sadako. Demo's been removed from the list because it doesn't matter what Demo I go against, they're so angy with violent smacks on the hook with holding their mouths open and face camping. :/

no the test finished at 11am today, we don't test into the weekend.

We're currently keeping the grades hidden for the weekend though.

I love that the grades are hidden! It was really tiring seeing the, "I'm an ash 4 being matched with red ranks, how is this fair matchmaking?" posts. If they stay hidden like this, it'll prevent any future confusion and maybe people will focus more on the game / match than the grades.

At first when the ranks were hidden during the last tests before sbmm went live, I didn't like it was hidden but this time around it's just been so nice. I could care less about someone's grades and just focus on the match and my mistakes without my inbox being harassed about my grade being relevant to my skill.

It's an existing bug that has been in the game for at least a year. It's honestly bs at times.

I never got hit with it as bad as I have lately so this is news to me. :/

    That's an attitude thing.

Clue is right there "team of solos". People like to think since they queued solo, they aren't really in a team. I swear most people end up in swf simply to get teammates who actually act like they are on the same team. I queue solo all the time, as my friends long ago gave up on DbD, and I'll still bring CoH for my team.

It doesn't matter what the viewpoint or attitude is. They're still a group of solos at the end of the day. They're still a team but they're solos. But I agree solo players treat it as a free for all but I really think it's mostly because of the huge disconnect and disadvantage they have versus the swf.
