I usually also end up being altruistic. Another bad survivor habit for me is to either go and do all totems and spend the whole game searching for totems and not do anything else. It does not matter if I'm solo or SWF - it always results to the same.
Idk why, but sometimes I offer items to the killer to just run away.
As killer I pretty much do the same as the op. Another situation is when I'm in a chase and it's going well for me... I ruin this for myself the moment I spot someone else, 'cause my attention span is thinner than a thread going through a needle. I start following them and this can easily result in bad results.
If I do bring any Hex perk, I forget they exist and never check on them. RIP all my tries to use Devour Garlic.

DMing you @x06 :)

I suck against trapper in solo queue. I am very good at the game but I am always scared to loop a trapper because of his traps. I know for sure my team will not be disarming his traps so when I get into a chase I usually panic a bunch and end up leaving every tile with a hiding spot for a trap. Most of the time I look around and try to find where he places his traps instead of doing gens.
Does anyone else feel the same?
@Mandy said:
I'm a trap magnet! The Trapper can place one single trap on a map and I guarantee that I will find it with my feetsies, it happens all the time!
These two describe me perfectly.
Generally, I'm scared to walk around, especially if the Trapper seems to have no order of how they place the traps... Same happens to me if it GF, I get paranoid when I know it's a Ghost Face and idk where he is. I keep looking around frantically everywhere.
Also if I get stuck in a trap, either I'm able to get out immediately or I get stuck forever. Most of the time it's the latter.
-
I always liked the MacMillan maps. When it comes to maps I hate... I hate every map I load into. It doesn't matter which map it is, the moment I'm on any map, I don't wanna be on it anymore lol
But my least favorite are the farm maps.

Doggo deserves being warm.

They have said in last weeks stream they're looking into a add-on pass for Myers.
But for this add on specifically, it takes a lot of stalking to get it and it's not a easy peazy breeze.
-
What about Demo? All Demodoggo wanted was hugs, now he's not asking anymore. I guess he didn't get any and is destroyed about it.
-
Currently the only available cross progression is between PC and Stadia. Switch will be added soon.

Please avoid creating threads that are asking how to edit game files! If you do this, this is at your won risk. If you get banned, there is nothing we can do for you.
-
Hey, cause you haven't had it uploaded yet, I'm doing this. I advice you to read the rules. Naming and shaming isn't allowed - please report them in the game and send additional evidence to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com
Please read our forum rules. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/137-forum-rules
-
If you have any issues with their in-game behavior, you are free to report them in the game and send additional video evidence to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com
Otherwise, just like other threads, this will be locked down for the high risk of naming and shaming and the discourse to negativity. That is something that applies for every streamer, too.
-
You are free to feel like however you want about Fog Whisperers, but having a thread like this will go easily into name and shame and massive negativity against streamers in general.
If you believe they're breaking in-game rules, report them to support: https://support.deadbdaylight.com
-
Imagine opening a chest, expecting a item and it'd just be a cat.
But for the game, I guess 'cause crows and ravens are commonly seen in horror media as death bringers sort of? And they can fly away, so as visual clue for killers, I'd assume.
-
It's something from our escalation system. The second consequence is called "Jail" and well... you get put behind bars. I advise you to not try to strive for that one and recommend everyone to read the Forum Rules.
-
For the part that is a issue and reportable behavior in the game: Report them in the game and send additional evidence to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com The ACM team will take care of it
-
I want to mention: it does not take 10 minutes to bleed out. It's 4 minutes. If you were gone and it took 10 minutes to bleed out in actuality, that means the other survivor has picked you up while you were gone.
I know it is tedious and it can be tiring, but it is a part of the game. It's why there are specific perks designed to work against it or work for slugging (e.g. Unbreakable/Deerstalker). It can be a valid tactic for many situations, but it is not a reason for leaving a game. Leaving the game is intended for emergencies only. There have been several suggestions by people before how to possibly make slugging better and less tedious. I do think there needs to be done something slightly to make it less tedious and a better experience, but it is a part of the game and not something to DC against.
About your last sentence: You can only report that if the intention is to not finish the game. It requires proof for this. You won't be banned for hiding here and there - this rule only counts if the objective is not being done at all, especially if the killer is just standing around somewhere. The intention is very clear here then.
-
'Kay, it sadly seems like people can't remain respectul. I'm closing the thread now, don't worry - your feedback is heard.
-
I don't think it's really necessary to try to see if hackers... really care about differences of the sites. There are cheaters and hackers on both sides, plus asking for a clip here is not something we condone. I've met both survivors and killers that have cheated in the game.
If anyone meets a cheater on either side, report them in the game and send additional evidence to Support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com
-
It has been reported and acknowledged in bug reports already.

On PS4, if you don't upgrade to newest firmware, you can not access any online PSN services. If someone told you they did not update last version, I doubt they can access or play the game.
I'm just relaying information I was given to ask :)
-
I... What. This is not what I expected out of my Saturday night, but that's okay.
-
Hey, I can't give a clear 100% answer on this, but if the killer was abusing a glitch/exploit to keep you trapped without a trap and you couldn't get out, that possibly could be punishable. If you have any additional evidence, send it to support please: https://support.deadbydaylight.com

Hey, I just deleted a few comments - as this is a sensitive topic, please everyone remain respectful while commenting about it. If it's not handled respectful, it has to be closed. If you care about this, this is fine, just as much as it is fine for someone who doesn't care about lore - but for both sides it's important to be respectful while discussing things.
For some players this is a important part of the game for others it might not be, which is alright.

Isn't everyone already on the 8.0 update? The update was required for online play and this game is online play only. So every ps4 player experiencing issues are already updated to the latest software because if they weren't they wouldn't be able to play.
We've had people say they weren't updated ye. There was an update on the 14th October 2020. I'm mainly relaying the info more than anything else :)

Issues with the cross-progression system are known and being looked into! Once more information is available, those will be shared.

Urban, Self Care, Sprint Burst and Spine Chill.
Urban and Spine Chill: I see people just crawling around and doing nothing the moment they anything happens.
For Self Care, many times people will abandon the game to heal and this can easily turn the game over (negatively). People who use SB most of the time just walk... and walk... and walk. I don't have the patience for that!
The one for killer for me is Beast of Prey. I guess it's good if you try to keep it in your build, but if you want to learn how to hide your stain around corners, etc., it doesn't help much and it shows when people use it.
Territorial Imperative is another one. I admit, I used it in the past... It didn't help much, cause most of the time when you reach the basement, people have already dipped.
It is fun in a scratched mirror Myers build though. I've to admit that.
-
Hey, if you still got problems with the PS4 Framerate, please try updating your Firmware to 8.0. That might fix it! If this doesn't work, please ping me and I will get back to you.

They do play their own game, but not all of them stream it.
Hoodied specifically has mentioned a few people who stream it or used to.
There are several factors why something might not change or be adjusted or why it's not done immediately. Before anything gets out, there needs to be a plan first of what to do and then it needs to develop from there on. This can't happen in a week as a example.

I have nothing against the LGBTQ community, I'm fine with them however I don't really care too much about them, my opinion is: "If you love someone and they're the same sex as you, fine it's the personality that matters." I'm saying that so that you don't possibly get all sensitive and butt hurt because the topic can come off as touchy to some people.
This is a HORROR game, I don't believe that the characters sexuality should be a main focus, in a H O R R O R - G A M E. Because why would anyone want to care what their opinions are on a subject that really don't matter to the basic game itself. Why is this a discussion at all, for a game that doesn't need to discuss this specific community. I don't remember in recent horror games and films where the characters just stopped everything they're doing to state what their sexuality is and who they "identify" as.
I'm annoyed at seeing stuff like this because of how unimportant it is in certain genres and media, and how badly people are trying to shove this down our throats. Again, I'm ok with anyone who loves someone part of their same sex, it's not my problem if they like someone of their own same sex. But seriously, this stuff needs to stop. Keep the pride month, and the support for the LGBTQ people where it belongs: in the protests and media that DIRECTLY have something revolving around the subject. If it doesn't revolve around the subject, then it's just a waste of time.
Just take this comment with a grain of salt. But don't get too sensitive about it - is all I'm saying.
They have confirmed some of the survivors to at least be heterosexual. They talk about partners of some of the older survivors. David King as a example had a ex-gf. Just because this has been so normalized and is the main focus in most medias doesn't mean it's not a sexuality.
BHVR has also released a statement which is posted in the OP about their stance. The original statement was that they'd not represent any sexuality, but then there were references of hetereosexual relationships. This is why the statement was released.

I'm locking this thread as it keeps circling back... It has been explained a few times so far. We do truly appreciate the feedback (whether positive or negative, as long as it's not insulting) and we forward it. We can and we DO forward feedback from the community to the team.

For the most part i believe it isup to the community managers and mods to pass on the feedback. When they look for feedback and have little time to do so maybe they only look in the feedback discussion itself.
Realistically if it's a post giving feedback about something then the section should it be posted in is the feedback one.
Its the same as bug reports being moved to the relevant section.
So moving the post doesn't necessarily remove the feedback from reaching the devs just the playerbase from seeing it who may only be spending time in general discussion.

Ok. I've just seen so many threads stopped quickly today especially. I was legitimately curious about why.
The conversation should always stay civil and non hostile. I agree whole heatedly.
People can disagree without reverting to insults.
Exactly, that's the important part.

Once I had a team complain to me that I wasn't doing anything and why I didn't cleanse the totems when NOED activated...
I did cleanse four totems and just couldn't find the last one.

No, controversial concerns/opinions won't be stopped by us as long as you're not rude and insulting. Follow the forum rules and all is good.

"Then may I suggest telling the people up there not to make such a colossal mistake? This is on the devs for aggravating a big chunk of the community, and they're getting the backlash they well deserve. They're making you guys, the forum admins, deal with the backlash while they make the mistakes, so it's not your guys' fault, but letting the conversation be Laissez-faire will actually get a point across. Overall, Merging threads is a major error because the forums being flooded is completely justified backlash.
My point still stands.
(I don't know why the font is like that lmao)"
That's not constructive criticism of your practices? You obviously didn't even read it either, since it clearly states that it isn't your fault this is happening. However, if you care about the devs actually seeing the feedback instead of ignoring it (as well as the community), you wouldn't hide it like it is right now. There's already people who have no idea the superthread exists, so denying it's being hidden is futile and non-constructive. Heck, your moderator team is becoming the issue rather than just the white knights; you've been moving threads to a hidden superthread that aren't even giving any criticism (making the public opinion look even worse). There's a scientific effect based off of this, but I forgot what the name is.
We're merging threads as it makes it easier for everyone to see the complaints as a collective - if threads were all individual, it'd make it harder to keep track of. Merging threads always has been done as it's easier to forward the feedback.
Even if it's all in one thread - it's still noticed and seen. It doesn't make the feedback less valueable. It's just as valueable as if it wasn't merged.
-
I'd say say this thread has run it's course by now. You're free to voice your concerns as much as you want, just remain respectful and civil.

I just want to put out that we do welcome criticism in regards of the game. You're free to voice your concerns as long as it's respectful and not insulting. That goes for all sides, whether you like or dislike changes and you're free to discuss them with others too. Just remain respectful at all times.
Good, have some then. I think it is very telling that you thank people for positive feedback, but not negative one. A lot of threads about the Halloween event have no moderator posts thanking the people posting there for their negative feedback.
Why is that?
My expectation is that if the feedback in those threads was not respectful and / or insulting the threads would be closed or deleted and the violators warned / jailed / banned. I know that warnings and post deletions are not public, and that I should not base my assumptions solely on those. A thread being locked or a moderator posting a warning to get back on-topic in the thread is visible publicly however, and I expect to see that if a thread is not respectful and insulting, I don't see that happen.
To me it looks like the feedback in those threads is therefore respectful and not insulting, again, on virtue of them not being closed or deleted. But no one is thanking those people for their respectful and not insulting but negative feedback. This gives me the impression that you only care about positive feedback.
I hope you disagree with me saying that you only care about positive feedback because I am wrong about that, but that is nonetheless the impression I have regarding the communication from the developer side about the Halloween event.
If it's feedback about the game specifically - we're moderators, not devs, so we can't tell you much about changes or whatsoever, but what we do as a team is respond to threads about the game. Engaging with the users is important too, like I said, we're players too. I've posted my opinions on too, others have too.
Our job isn't just simply dishing out warns, bans, locks and etc. We do so much more than that. If it's negative feedback, typing on every thread "Thank you" would look condescending in the long run, especially as those threads are meant for the game developers. The devs do see the threads and they do check them. We're here to keep the forums running and to also engage with the users.
-
We do appreciate this, thank you.
I just want to put out that we do welcome criticism in regards of the game. You're free to voice your concerns as long as it's respectful and not insulting. That goes for all sides, whether you like or dislike changes and you're free to discuss them with others too. Just remain respectful at all times.
-
This is not a topic that should really be discussed as name drops could easily happen for all sides. To avoid this, I'm closing the thread.
I just want to remind all of you that we have set of rules to follow by for a reason. Follow them and you won't get in trouble, break the rules, we will issue a consequence. If you're ever worried about a post possibly causing issues, you're always free to contact us on our walls and we will send you a DM to talk to you and see what's up and if we can help you.
We're players ourselves, all moderators play the game and were regular players before they joined. Many people seem to forget that we also do things that we enjoy and that many of us joined the team out of our love for the game.
BUT because we are moderators doesn't mean we get to do whatever we want, which seems to be the impression here. We have to follow the rules like anyone else. I can't go and insult people despite my position. They apply to me like to all of you - just because I have a different role it doesn't mean I'm free from them.
