Hey, I actually advise you to post here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues Please also describe which error message you're getting :)
-
Hey, nein, dies ist leider nicht möglich. Ich kann dir auch nicht raten, was du machen sollst, da das eine etwas knifflige Lage ist.
-
Hey, there is currently no ETA, but the team is working on it and once more information is available they'll be shared. I'm afraid I got nothing more than that, sorry.
-
If you are encountering a bug, this is right place to report it at: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs Make sure to read the pinned posts first though.
-
Considering the direction the thread is taking with some comments, I'm locking this. This is a great opportunity for a lot of people that have interest. If you're not intersted in it, that's fine, too!
I do want to clarify some confusion as for some people it seems sudden or that it never happened before: This is not the first time Community Moderator applications have been opened. BHVR has done so a few times in the past before.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1742923/#Comment_1742923
The forum is not cooperating with me to quote this, but Janick, a dev, has addressed this in this comment.
"We are also discussing the instance when Survivor hold on the Brother infinitely."
-
Okay, after some consideration and some of the comments... Lots have been deleted after my post, I'm sorry, but I'm closing the thread as it keeps getting out of hands and people apparently can't comment on these threads without insulting a group of people.
I just want to remind all of you in the future that people have different opinions and to be respectful of those, but it's not okay to insult a group of people asking for something.
On the other hand, everyone should not go out of their way to attack or insult anyone, no matter what they say. If you think what they said was wrong in the sense of breaking the rules, please report it.
-
No, you won't be banned in that case. Only the person who has cheated will be the one to get in trouble, but not you.
-
Yay! That's awesome to hear and that you're enjoying your experience on PS5!
-
Due to the way the thread went, bans are not to be discussed on the forums. We state that in the rules.
-
The log files in question are encrypted and can't be read.
Your screenshots were also old ones, which you can see by the green perks.
-
Please be respectful to each other, even if opinions might differ. People might be worried about how those characters might be added, for some lore might not even matter at all, for some it helps them to have something to identify with and for some that care about the lore see this is as a important part.
Some people might also feel indifferent about this or do not see it as relevant, just be respectful about this. For many people this is a sensitive topic, which is why they're asking for it.
Just the main part is to be repectful to each other. Otherwise the thread will be closed if the fighting and bickering continues on both sides.
I do also want to say that it has been mentioned before that chapters take months prior to release to be prepared. That also can refer to things like the rift, especially if characters are interconnected, changing certain aspects might affect more than just one character.
-
Hey, dies ist bekannt und das Team ist aktiv dabei eine Lösung zu finden.
-
He is NOT a baby. He is Charlottes twin brother. There is no baby kicking in DBD.
-
The in-game report function does not block users from playing with you. The game offers no avoid player feature. The report function does what it does: Report the person you click report on and fill it out for. That gets checked by people called ACMs and they deal with those reports.
Please do not falsely report users for not rule breaking things. This still gets logged and is another report the ACMs have to check. Read the game rules please: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

Thank you. Any idea what the link is for the discord?

Please note that he is not a baby but Charlottes twin brother.

Even if you didn't name anyone or even if your description "might" not point out who it is clearly - sorry, but we still don't allow these kind of threads on the forum as they will inevitably end up breaking the naming and shaming rules. Users will start naming content creators to shame them - these threads always do that.
This goes for all content creators as users might dislike someone you like and then start naming and shaming them. We've always dealt with these kind of things this way as they'll always end up breaking the rules.
-
We have a escalation system in place. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/138-forum-ban-escalation Unless whatever a user did was quite severe or under the permanent ban list, we follow the escalation system when it comes to consequences.
and if you read the whole set of rules, there are way more things you can get punished for and if it escalates, it is possible to earn a permanent ban: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/137-forum-rules
I locked the thread as it might possibly spark discussions about other people who have been banned and as it states in the rules, that is to be avoided.
But we definitely don't instantly perma ban everyone. The escalation system is in place for people to learn and grow from the the things as we're all humans, but there still are offenses that are permanent ban for many reasons.
-
Whelp, that didn't seem to work at all. There was a chance, but people apparently can't remain respectful!
It is possible to be civil and respectful on things you think are not necessary in the game, same for things you'd like to see be added in the game, but if it comes down to attacks and fights - that's not a good to go about it, esepcially these kind of threads.
-
Please be respectful when commenting on this topic. I've deleted a few comments that were anything but that. Otherwise it has to be closed.
-
I'm closing this as from the looks of it OP does not want to have a proper discussion but blame a specific part of the playerbase and just argue with people instead of discussing.
-
Bitte poste hier, wenn du eine Fehlermeldung hast oder was genau passiert: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/de/categories/fehlermeldungen

Okay, it does seem like people can't be respectful in this manner. There were now several comments about it and it just seems to keep reverting to the same kind of comments.
Remain respectful and do not try to joke about serious topics. It was decided to change the name for the better after careful consideration that it could possibly be harmful and upsetting for many people.
-
No, censorship is not what you think it is in this case. The blade was changed after concern was raised about the name possibly triggering people.
Censorship is to suppress information, speech, etc. Nothing is being suppressed - the devs made the decision to change the name of their product.
-
Most recent one? Forgot that a Nurse can blink mid match... I knew before she could blink, but I just forgot. Whelp.
Also when a Myers clearly had tombstone (he used it before and I SAW it)... I forgot and tried to take a hit for someone in the exit gate.
Huntress Match: I forget to reload for a long time. The amount of times I try to throw a hatchet... and I can't...

Please check this out: https://discord.gg/dbdmobile
Mobile and Dead by Daylight PC/Console are different teams.

Bans are not to be discussed on the forums. This also includes discord bans.
If you want to appeal your ban, message the person who has banned you. Elemental (Discord Bot) tells you in the DM which moderator banned you. You can add that moderator and they'll get back to you whenever they can.
If you were banned with either Elemental or in the past with TypicalBot (Discord Bot): You can find in your DMs with them who banned you. Granted, you do have to share a server with the bots to be able to access them.
-
It was a bug fix.
-
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs Please psot here :)
-
Due to some comments that have been made after MandyTalks comment, I'm locking this thread... Some of the comments and discussions went too far. Please remain respectful, especially when it comes to such sensitive topics.

True, and it’s there as well. Even though technically it fits under both umbrellas, as creations is more specific while general is everything concerning the game.
Killer and survivor concepts belong here. I'm locking this as you already have on here. Please in the future mind the appropriate sub-forums.
-
While I saw your top comment, this still belongs in it's correct sub-forum.

Like @GoodBoyKaru said: If you owned the twitch shirts previously, you're going to keep them. If you didn't own them before, then they'll be gone in the future update as they weren't meant to be given out to everyone.

Hey... People are free to like and suggest what they might want to see. It's also okay to not like it, but we won't ban anyone for that and making such a thread can be discouraging to people who might have come up with concepts about something.
If you don't like something, you can disagree with a idea respectfully.
-
If you know which kind of error and error message you are receiving, we do have Technical Issues sub-forum you could check out. By using the search function you can limit searches to that sub-forum specifically. See if someone else has reported it, chances are other moderators and users have tried helping to fix it. If not, you can create a thread with all the necessary information. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues
I'm sorry that you're experiencing these issues, but if you know you're experiencing issues it'd be for the best if you tried fixing them first before continuing to play the game. Whether the disconnects are intentional or not - it still ruins the game for four other people.
-
Okay, I'm locking this now. @xhimsa12x I have told you to use the search function and limit it to the sub-forum Technical Issues to see if someone else has reported the error message you receive. If not, make a thread and ask for help how to fix it.
Playing the game while knowing your game doesn't work properly - that's still ruining the game for four other people.

I didn't say post in the forums, I mentioned using the support page aka email.
Woops - misread, sorry, but point still stands as a reminder for people then!
-
Bans of any kind are not disclosed. They certainly do something. Bans are issued by the dedicated ACM team. There are many reports daily, a report might not be done right away, but they certainly see them and do something about them if it's not a false report. Sometimes people don't report in the game, which is mandatory and this also hinders a report.
Also I want to note: Temporary bans are not visible on anyone's profile.
Additional evidence can always be sent to support. More can be found here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
@Marigoria said:
Reports don't do anything if you don't come on the forums and send video evidence to support, and even then, to be fair, I truly doubt anything happens.
(I misread, but point still stands, sorry Marigoria!) Postings things here on the forums won't do anything. It won't quicken the process - if at all someone might earn a warning for naming and shaming which is against the rules. We can't speed up the process - everyone has to go through the same process of reporting people in the game.

ive been playing 300 hours until recently got problem
and how do i know whats the problem
all i can do to fix is only uninstall and install the game over and over, its should be on your side fix the problem not ours
ive had nothing problem until just recently your updating a lot since hallowen coming
and your dc penalty isnt resetting is one of the biggest problem, how can i achieve the rest when u need 12 hours to play without dc,i some accident happen after i play 11 hours and then dc
do i need to wait another 2 days to play a game?
its like you telling people not to play this game anymore, theres no justify here
I have linked you the technical issues sub-forum. If you get a error message, you can look it up here and if you can't find anything, create a thread here, describing your issue and what's going on.
-
If you have issues, I advise you trying to fix them first before attempting to play games. We do have a sub-forum that's dedicated to Technical Issues: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues Use the search bar to see if your error has been reported already.
And I'm sorry you're experiencing this, but the DC penalty is here to stay for the games health. If you are experiencing continous errors, the best thing to do would be trying to fix it by looking up if it has been reported already and if yes, is there a fix maybe? If not, create thread in the Technical Issues Sub-Forum to ask for help and some of our moderators and users might be able to help you.
Playing the game knowing you have a crash issue that causes you DC still affects other players that are in the round with you. I know this is not intentional, but best advice is to try to fix it first before trying to continue playing the game.

@xhimsa12x said:
i couldn’t disagree more. Only a handful of games would people experience DC penalty and for those not extremely competitive, what does it even matter? Oh well, I’m back in another game in just a few minutes. Also, this has happened to me only the last 2-3 days. Only after updates from your platform. I have an outstanding internet connection i a very well populated city. This doesn’t happen to me in any other game or setting. DC penalty is punishing your customers when they did nothing to deserve some kind of punishment from you and I am one of many
@xhimsa12x said:
There is nothing “healthy” about the DC penalty. While I’ve only been playing this for about a year, i play on average 20 hours a week. Maybe a hand full of games a day of gaming for several hours did i experience DCers and if so, boo boo. Onto the next game in a few minutes. But i get the people who cry the loudest get listened to
That is nice if this was your experience, but this wasn't the case for a lot of other people. The DC penalty wouldn't exist if DCs weren't a rampaging issue.
Also I have advised you to check out the Technical Issues Sub-Forum to see if this issue has been reported already and if someone has found a way how to fix this.

So do the mods have any special insight into suicide penalties?
Only as much as the user. The moderation team does not have any special insights on any statistics.
-
I'm sorry you're experiencing errors that cause your game to crash. The DC penalty is needed for the games health though. Previously people kept DCing every match and the penalty helps to reduce this.
Someone leaving the game for whatever reason does ruin the game for others, even if it wasn't intentional.
I do want to point out that the DC penalty starts low and does not start at 6 hours. This means this has happened before as the DC penalty has been designed to already take IRL emergencies into account. If this error has been happening to you for a while, please use the search function and limit it to the Technical Issues Sub-Forum to see if this issue has been reported already. You might be able to find a fix for it. This is the link to it: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues
If you can't find that it has been reported already, you're free to create a thread asking for help to fix it.
But the DC penalty is here to stay to help the games health. Even if it's not intentional, it still leaves four players with a possible ruined experience as they're left to play alone in a scenario that should have been a 4v1.
-
This is just a friendly reminder to avoid any naming and shaming per our rules and be respectful. We do not outright ban people unless there is a escalation already going on or they have broken the rules that are permanent bans. If you check out the rules, we do have a section that are instant permanent bans.
If you want criticism to be heard, being rude, condescending and insulting about it won't help the cause.
We won't be discussing bans publicly. This goes against what we stand for and it is to protect the users that have been affected by this. If they want to talk about this on their own platforms, then they can, but not here. The same goes for others trying to discuss them - the person might not want this to be done. Privacy of the user is important to us.
-
Something like that would be need. Definitely would save me a lot of time! I am blind, even if I follow the order they appear in, I won't be able to find it for a while usually!
-
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs Please check here. We have a dedicated bug section.

Hey, is it possible if it happens again, that you take a screenshot of the tile name? :) Just open the settings and it tells you which tile it is in the bottom right.

Adrenaline is a good perk and is one of her own perks. Sprint Burst is decent. I can actually recommend all of Meg teachable perks. If you're ever able to get Head On, it's a great combo with Quick and Quiet.
Adrenaline can help you in the endgame as it heals you once gens are done. Sprint Brust makes you run quicker, but it has the downside you have to walk a lot. I'm not a fan of the park for that reason, I prefer to run across the map to get from point A to B.
Quick and Quiet is great for mindgames. A fast vault doesn't make any noise, but scratchmarks are still there btw. Keep in mind, it has a cooldown.
You should also look into the teachable perk Iron Will from Jake, it makes you quiet unless the killer has Stridor (teachable Nurse perk) which counters it.
^ This is a starter thing I could think off... These are quite good perks.
I personally love Empathy (Claudette teachable). It helps a lot when others are injured, you can go and find them for heals.Kindred is also a good perk, especially when you start out - it enables aura reading for all survivors (depending on the tier) and the killers aura within a certain range of your hook.
If you want a perk that possibly helps you seeing people that are close to you when not injured, then I'd recommend Bond. It's a Dwight teachable perk.

@IxmKira said:
Short but easy point, please make tunneling banable to people rank 15 or 10 below or just in general. Even letting the killer be able to not play the game for said amount of time would be perfect better than allowing the killer to go for a survivor right off the hook. Jeez.
In regards of the latter part of the comment: Tunneling is not a bannable offense, so there won't be a time out for it. I just want to clarify that. For the rest of the comment, that's a suggestion, so I've moved it.
In regards of giving them a timeout, this is a excerpt from the game rules:
____
Discarded report reasons
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT:
- Camping
- Slugging
- Tunneling
