Oh no i don't disagree, you're totally right
It's just I think DH counters their ability, that's why it's needed if you get me
Yeah I guess.

I mean...
Dead Hard, kinda?
I think Iron Will is also really good against Nurse since she can't track you through walls as easily.
Dead Hard is actually a requirement against a decent Blight and Nurse or else you die. Also about Iron Will against Nurse, if she plays correctly (playing reaction game and not prediction game) then it’s really not that strong against her.

And yet you give your opinion on Nurse (who you are clearly clueless about) all the time.
I go against her at least once a day (if I’m playing that day). Try again.

I mean she still takes infinitely less effort than Blight or Nurse. Sorry, but as much as survivors hate those two characters, they really aren't very pick up and play and master in a game or two.
Is there a meta perk that hardcore counters Blight and Nurse? No.
-
@Zarathos said:
Well i d probably say that both nurse and blight have more exciting weird variations in terms of builds and power. A lot of spirit meme addons straight dont work. At least nurse and blight jankier addons have some edge case uses.
Spirit lives in that zone of high skill for solid performance while blight and nurse have high skill for incredible power. Im sorry to break it to ya but if your gonna have such a high skill floor you better have an equivalent payoff otherwise make the killer easier to play.
Im sure there are those out there who will say nurse blight op pls nerf but the reality of this consistent undercutting of killer skill expresion is clearly impacted the games veterans. How many of dbds old guard has worn away with time. Sure you can argue some of that was natural but I can tell you nerfing every killer with an ounce of skill expression isnt helping. So cut it out!
A lot of her gimmicky add ons are way more useful than you claim. Senko Hanabi and Wakizashi Saya are prime examples of add ons that have their uses but actually have their own unique learning curve. Nurse and Blight don't have add ons like that.
-
Blight in every single game is so annoying though. I don’t really find Blight as fun as I used to. I don’t think his base power needs a nerf though.

Your phase is most likely on cooldown by then and most maps have enough pallets by the time you're done kicking and starting your phase they've reached the next pallet.
Alright well again if it’s such an issue for you then as @Tr1nity said, use the Teacup. Uchiwa is also a good choice.
-
@kate_best_girl said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2902239#Comment_2902239
I do play her she's still in my top 5 most played and I've played her since release. When a survivor is camping a pallet there is nothing you can do from there. They know exactly where you are, exactly how close you are, exactly where you're coming from. It doesn't matter what you do they can throw it down and easily play around it because you're left with no information while they have all of it.
Kick the pallet and then phase after them. You gotta stop acting like you should be able to mind game every single pallet that easily.
-
@Brokenbones said:
How would you buff Spirit, any ideas?
Personally I can't think of anything, aside from maybe an Iron Will nerf? Not sure how much that would help Spirit alone as opposed to helping the rest of the roster
I wouldn’t buff. I don’t really think she needs that much else. I’d rather just leave her alone so she doesn’t become “OP” again or actually devastating to play.
-
@kate_best_girl said:
Because she's really bad now Gann. Against good survivors they just camp pallets and know the exact side you're coming from. On top of this she has a hugely punishing cooldown which allows them plenty of time to run to another safe loop or pallet. She's only somewhat good at unsafe loops but most of these other killers are good or even better at. She's a solid B tier killer now.
I play her all the time and do well with her even against good survivors. I know she’s good because of my experience. If you don’t play her, your input won’t be that valid. Not trying to be mean when I say it but it’s true.

You forgot to mention that you know exactly WHERE Spirit is when she is phasing you can see it (dust) and hear it around you. Meanwhile, if you are healthy, she has no idea where you are, and if you are injured with iron will, she still has no idea.
I am more of a survivor main these days, but let’s be honest and cut the cr*p : she is weak.
You do realize they didn’t implement the dust right?

That gave me a chuckle lol.

@sizzlingmario4 said:
Because people overestimate her nerfs. She’s still a very good killer, she’s just the 3rd best instead of the 2nd best.
And yes as already mentioned you can’t run MDR/DCB every game and some people don’t want to learn how to get good at her without them.
Hope they can nerf Nurse and Blight so the true queen can actually be the best :)
-
@egg_ said:
Those 14 people who used to play her without stridor kept playing her because she is fundamentally the same killer.
The rest just refused to actually learn her and moved on to playing blight and nurse. Games play themselves anyway when you just put 3-4 slowdown perks, like they used to with stridor spirit. And buffed DMS is just the cherry on the cake.
I mean, on nurse/blight you need to actually try not to win when stacking up all those perks. Spirit still requires some effort, even though she's arguably the third strongest killer, with still a strong power
I don’t understand it. People really used my girl because of their own benefit of winning. It’s sad to hear that they never played her because they found her enjoyable.
-
@Vampwire said:
The nerf seperated the good spirits from the bad ones. And there were a lot of bad ones...
Basically she requires actual effort now that survivors can make plays against her power, while the options against nurse and blight are usually limited.
I guess that’s true

Not even them add-ons, she needs some form of "catch up" add on in order to cope with people running in a straight line (charge speed, speed, duration) unless you want to walk as a 110 killer for a while or have a small, easy-to-zone map.
I usually never run add-ons on killer but she's one of the 3 killers I always run add-ons for, the other 2 being Billy and Onryo. I just find her so boring without charge speed.
Well she has add ons like that that are brown and yellow, and there’s a lot of them. So they are easy to obtain.
-
@Leachy_Jr said:
Cos she's really add on reliant and takes more skill than before. W keyers are also incredibly unfun to verse and I have a curse of Overcome whenever I play her.
I don’t think she is add on reliant. She can do well without MDR+DCB.

add onto this pain resonance + another slowdown perk like corrupt, pop, or ruin.
True.

Hey Gann, mind hitting me with a few favourite Spirit builds you find competitive against SWF’s? I will give her another shot out of respect buddy. Any perks, got them all unlocked.
Well if you wants viable competitive build then try Mother-Daughter Ring + Furin + DMS with an info perk like BBQ or Discordance.

"Gutted" would imply they completely nerfed her power even though it's exactly the same on a mechanical level
Survivors just have an actual way to respond to it now. She still moves faster than them, she still can't be looped as easily as other killers can and the information survivors get isn't 100% perfect - it's vague enough for it to be fair imo.
If they had left in the dust footsteps as well, I might've agreed with it being a straight up gut since that is almost perfect info, rendering the invisible part of her power pointless
Spot on

If they were losing then yes they would get bored. But because blight and nurse lead to wins, then no it’s Not boring. Remember when one side is winning then that side doesn’t complain at all
True. Luckily I find fun in this game fun.
-
@Piruluk said:
After the Stridor nerf she became unplayable for me, only to bullied by iron will users. Useless now.
Use short bursts against IW users.
-
@Blueberry said:
Because she got gutted and has too much counter play now.
Legion has too much counterplay yet they’re common?

@CrashofRhinos said:
Hey TheGannMan, huge respect, but spirit is just no longer fun to play for me. She is hard countered by iron will and at high MMR I find survivors just toy with me. Also sounds get bugged at the worst times and tracking is a nightmare. It just isn’t fun. Why would I spend my valuable time off of work…working?
I get it but it all takes practice and experience. Use short bursts against Iron Will users and don’t try to go for big mind games against them. She can be hard at times but she’s very rewarding and fun.
-
@deKlaw_04 said:
Because she doesn’t have the OP phase power. She’s fine now and fun to play against.
She’s always been fine 😏

@Salvador578 said:
In my time playing, most Blight and Nurse players have zero idea what they're doing and what they've got themselves into. Most of them are what I like to call, "Tier-List hoggers" where they just look up on Google "DBD Tier-List (Insert Current Month/Year Here)" and they see whos in S Tier or SS Tier and then they play that killer, completely unaware that Blight and Nurse take a-lot of experience and hours to get to that point of being a S Tier or SS Tier killer.
But shouldn’t we say the same about Spirit? People put her high on the tier list.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
She used to be brain dead easy. Now she takes a bit of effort. Add to that I don't think very many people enjoy playing as her, they just liked winning.
I don’t think she was brain dead but her skill cap wasn’t big or anything.

Hate to break it to you, but spirit is not as strong anymore. When alternative is losing or playing nurse & blight, players choose alternative. I have not seen much spirit ever since they weaken Stridor. Its like as soon as Stridor was weakened, Spirit disappeared.
Spirit got demoted to an art-appreciation relic that nobody wants to play. I remember 3 years ago, her pick-rate was like highest in the game, even past huntress. Now she is a true ghost. Just another Billy.
She is very much a great killer. Have you played her at all since her nerf?
-
@BrokenSouI said:
Because they took away an add on that didn't need to be. And left folks with hearing issues in the dark.
Because for god knows what reason. Her chase music is so loud. That any sound that they could potentially make is drowned out.
I do feel for people with hearing issues. That’s why they should’ve kept Father’s Glasses and possibly made it a lower rarity.
-
@Huge_Bush said:
Because Blight and Nurse have more cake and Spirit is only sporting flat pancakes.

@danielmaster87 said:
Because Spirit sucks, bro. I never saw her when her nerfs were announced, never see her now, and saw her just a sliver more before her nerfs. Some killers, like Spirit, Artist, and Hag, only interest a niche portion of the community, because I've never thought Spirit was THAT fun, and Hag and Artist are lots of fun to me yet boring to others. But imo Spirit didn't need to be nerfed except one or two specific things, and now nobody wants to play her, especially since people still think she's OP, because who wants to get into a killer who's probably gonna get nerfed soon, due to 'popular demand', at a point in the game where pretty much no killer needs nerfing?
It’s fine if you don’t find her fun but don’t act like she’s not a good killer.
@Murgleïs said:
Because she is overrated. She is easy to counter, bring Iron or camp pallets and stun her. Or simply walk.
You know she has two add ons that counter pallet camping right? Even if she didn’t, she can still manage it by simple pressing space bar and catching up with great speed.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Because she now takes half a braincell and you can't slap on 3x regression + stridor. MDR + DCB is too expensive to feasibly use every game when 4x slowdown Blight/range+recharge Nurse is right there
Do people not get bored of using Blight and Nurse like that every game?
-
Have you ever played Deathslinger?
-
I’ve played with @HarperXD many times.
-
I would only prestige your mains. No need to try to grind out every character that far.

Spirit because I’m always distracted.

I already took Spirit out as my lovely Valentine :3
-
I’d love to see more threads like this. The positivity people spread is just so heartwarming.

This doesn’t fix the issue. You’ll still be able to ignore all defenses and so many perks will still be devastating to go against on Nurse alone.

Some people are very competitive and try their hardest to win because that's how they are. Not gonna judge them, though I think that's overkill, personally.
Yeah I’m not judging them either, I’m just trying to figure out how they find it fun.

I’m not talking overall. That’s useless because it’s not controlled for any factors. I’m talking about specifically high levels of play, with evenly skilled players facing each other in an evenly balanced map. As in, actually controlling for relevant variables.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2900430#Comment_2900430
Yes, good job stating the literal exact add-ons I already said were an exception. Also you are blatantly beyond wrong on the second point. Perks that are very good on her have been buffed just fine, like Hex: Retribution/No Way Out’s buff. Perks that are incredible on her have also been released just fine. Like No Way Out post-buff/Deadlock/Pain Resonance/Floods of Rage/etc.
I wish people would actually do their research before making up points.
So it’s all about high level then. So since the Twins are “absolute monsters at high level play” I guess they deserve the nerf because high MMR is the only level we should be focused on.
-
@Brimp said:
Because... that would completely kill any perk that only works with m1's on her?
I like to use surge on her and since that only applies through m1 downs that means I would get no value from it forcing me to go back to ruin or pop. Overall killing my perk variety for her. I get that not many nurses have perk variety but it's better to have the few that stay using it than to make them like the rest of the nurses.
Dude she’s the strongest killer in the game. I think she’ll be fine if not most perks synergies well with her.
-
@SuzuKR said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2900417#Comment_2900417
The data from matches against players of even skill shows as much. She averages out to 2K. Taking perks like Starstruck is a significant risk because all the survivors have to do is bolt in completely separate directions ASAP, and she will lose the majority of time on the Exposed pursuing them. Or be spread out already, and thus not even in the area of effect. Even with Agitation, this is a trade off against good players.
So you’re basing it off meaningless kill rates? Not taking info consideration that she’s a free killer so new players can play her from the get go? She’s super hard for new players but her skill ceiling is so massively overrated it’s ridiculous.
-
@SuzuKR said:
Why? She’s in a spot of perfect balance with the exceptions of her distance increasing add-ons/three blink add-on. No reason to kill perk diversity on her. Even with Exposed perks, you just have to mindgame to avoid the hits.
Perfect balance? You have to be joking.
-
DS is one of the most well designed perks in the whole game. Please don’t touch it.

I mean I get the frustration but I don't think you know how hard it is to code the game to detect something like that.
