  • I hate this map on both sides as a survivor im wandering around a maze trying to find gens and as a killer im wander around a maze trying to find survivors while trying to pressure multiple floors.

I used to love Brutal Strength and rarely took it off.

It feels so slow without it.

I think BS is so under rated I ran it on pinhead to see if it helped braking pallets after hitting a chain. Now I feel like it takes forever to brake a pallet or kick a gen without it.

Disrespect pallets build is fun. Brutal strength enduring and spirit fury and walk right through those pallets.

Really don't care. My ego isn't that fragile to get demoralized by getting beat.

I just don't find it fun to lose 5 games in a row because the stuck me with players that are way above my skill. It seems like all the sweat come out after 7pm on na west.

Because that's the only way such extended queue times can happen for one role; it has to be the more saturated role at the time.

There could be a dead zone in mmr which from what I understand is more likely because it seem easier to up killer mmr. This is all theory and based off a video but it makes more sense as survivor has always been the more popular role

Because there are now more killers. Survivors dealt with this for months but I guess the tables have turned

What makes you say there is more killers now. The whole new killer released has died down and there's been no buffs to killers. So I'm wondering why you think more people are playing killer is the problem?

  • @Psycho_ said:

It doesn't matter what time of the day or killer I play I have to wait 10 - 15 minutes to get into a game. Then if someone doesn't load or dc's into loading I'm back to a 15 minute que. I just want to play killer again, I'm tired of playing survivor, I can't do my archives. How's your guys experience?

I seen a video from Scott jundd and he said at peak time it seems like most the killers are in high mmr and most the survivors are in low. It seems like mmr might be easier to get high as a killer. Mine are 5 minutes or so atm but I do believe I'm at low mmr because I went on a 30 match losing g streak the first day mmr came out

Just switch to an end game build. Seriously. It allows you to just NOT CARE about gens. With your usual gen regression build, once the survs finish the last gen, you have nothing to help you anymore. So just revert it, play with nothing (except BBQ bc BP) while they do the gens, and then hit them HARD with all your end game might (Noed, Bloodwarden, No way out). You need not be afraid of the survivors doing all bones to prevent Noed, they practically never do this when they can rush gens instead.

Will you get heavy salt for that? OF COURSE, thats the extra bonus! If they attack you for your Noed 'crutch', point out why they did not do bones when it was so obvious you would have some end game perks (having no gen regression whatsoever)? That's where they usually fall silent and leave the after game chat.

Really, free yourself from the mantra that you need slowdown perks to do good as a killer. The game is not over until the survivors get out of a gate (or hatch). If it does not work to prevent them doing gens, prevent them from opening a gate and escaping.

See the problem is I'm still in the grind I'm not even close to having all the perks on everyone. Its all about BP gain for me honestly I just want to earn enough to actually make a difference trying to level up my killer. Alot of non slow down matches I end with 10-12k so 4 thing at best in the BW.

  • @Heartbound said:

I'd recommend just playing perkless and go for the Power Moves achievement. It's time to break your reliance on perks.

    Be free.

The problem is for a average killer or like me one thats not that good gen speeds are to fast without slow down. One mistake can lead to 3 gens been done. I find when I play survivor I'm less reliant on perks but I also suck at survivor so I still use meta.

They did iterate on it in PTBs with changes to radius it counts, Making it deactivate in chases and instead of stopping the sacrifice it simply slowed by X amount.

No matter what they did survivors managed to abuse it.

Its funny how they complained about camping and the devs try to do something and of course it gets abused so at has to come out

  • It really does stop becoming fun. Gen rushing is stupid( I mean real gen rushing bnp and that) like 2 people get in a chase how fun, w keying is no fun i think that's self explanatory, camping is pointless I would rather be moving and tunneling can easily cost you the game. These thing make the game boring on both sides and I don't get way its such a big thing.

  • @KblokoBR said:

You enter a match and in one side a killer is rushing kills by camping or tunneling and the survivors rushing gens when in the firts chase 2 or even 3 gens pop (toolbox prove thyself). Is so fast that dont even have time to end first chase sometimes, and when is a SWF is way worse, because they know gens gonna fly so they insta pre drop every pallet in game forcing killers to camp in the end for 1 kill (with is even hard when they use bt and ds).

This game are becoming this boring speedrun forcing these strats and mettas in both sides.

Your not wrong though. I don't think people realize that this game completely brakes down when you try to be as efficient as possible. That goes for both sides

  • How come I've never thrown a pallet but seen it get rejected. Like I throw it and get downed but the killer really hit me first so the pallet didn't get thrown?

  • So if I swing and then they throw the pallet since I would get stunned it will just cancel the hit out right? If I'm swinging and you throw a pallet my arm should just stop all momentum.

I'm honestly not entirely sure. Their servers in the US specifically are TERRIBLE. All players will rubber band backwards, have huge lag spikes, just tons of issues constantly. What most likely happened that match could also be that the survivor was closer to the server you guys were on, making their actions reach the server faster? That or you just had a bad server, which is probably more likely with how much they suck... lmao

EU actually has so much more acceptable servers, as they're much closer to all players since EU is much smaller, allowing faster server determinations to happen properly, unlike US. Idk where you live, but if it is the US, I just chalk it up to terrible servers. LOL

It could be dbd is definitely the game I see the most server issues from. Thats bs though and it behaviors and need to fix there servers. Killer is already a unpopular role and behavior make it worse with stuff like that.

I am well aware of this. In the clip I was making fun of the people who say it's "completely survivor sided" because I literally hit her and got the down...

To be fair I don't see to many survivor I play mid camp pallets they run to the other side or pass for the loop.

  • @NightWolfsFury said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2496905#Comment_2496905

Yeah... that's the BIGGEST issue with this game... it rewards bad internet. I've never heard of a game doing that before. There is "favor the shooter", which the server tries to determine what should hit based upon what the person on the screen sees, but not blatant disregard for good internet and actually giving you a straight up DISADVANTAGE for it. It's stupid and Behavior reallllyyyyyyy needs to fix it.

Like the teleporting survivor. Or my favor i made the vault and I'm running and I got hit?

    Alot of weird happens.

  • @NightWolfsFury said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2496898#Comment_2496898

The game will never be perfect on what should hit and what shouldn't, sadly. If you have really low latency, you probably just got screwed over, sadly. It happens A LOT. Not even my suggestion for server hits would completely fix that either. :\ It would just help reduce these scenarios.

One specific situation I will always remember is when I dropped a pallet on a Nurse right after she blinked, I got the stun and she still hit me facing 180 away from my character... at the other side of the pallet... We both discussed it and talked about how it was BS. It just happens sometimes.

Sorry about that, though. I know how frustrating that can be. Also, my apologies for the other response. I saw your notification pop up right before I posted my comment, so it was in regards to before your response.

But ill gave games where everything is running as it should except for pallet so are pallets causing a latency issue then?

  • @Impose said:

I'm almost convinced that they simply added iframes to pallet throws like with dead hard. I've seen survivors take a hit on my screen, HEARD them get hit, then stunned by a pallet and they took no damage.

I have sub 40 ping basically every game. There's no explanation besides iframes

My last game made me honestly wonder the same like I had my weapon on her a few time before the pallet stun even got the scream and blood twice.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2496888#Comment_2496888

Yeah, ever since the hit validation change, I have become obsessed with brutal and enduring. Maybe a fire up if they don't have flashlights. It is ridiculously satisfying. I am not sure I ever want to go back to other builds. Lol.

Well, maybe if they fix this and respecting pallets becomes valid again.

You ever get AoE stunned like where you have to move forward to brake it. Its only happened like 3 times its pretty rare?

  • @NightWolfsFury said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2496885#Comment_2496885

To back up my internet situation that penalizes a killer with good internet and survivor with bad internet, survivors can rubber band and make them much harder to hit because the server can't keep up with them properly, making ghost hits (ones that don't hit) or a wiff entirely because the survivor is much farther on their own screen.

If the servers actually prioritized the better latency, the killer would get the hit, regardless of what the survivor sees, which is completely fair due to them having better internet.

This also combats VPNing, which is an extreme issue currently because it gives an innate advantage due to higher latency and how the game rewards what the player sees instead of what the server sees first.

But I have great internet. I does some times get crazy and I wonder if it a vpner. For the most part I have no internet problems on most games.

  • @NightWolfsFury said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2496866#Comment_2496866

The reason for this is most likely because the survivor had better latency than you, so on the survivor's screen, you weren't as close as it looks on your screen. When they dropped the pallet, you were farther back and the server registered their pallet drop before your hit due to them having better latency. As the game should do for all hits. Reward the better internet, regardless of which side.

Right now, hits are still killer-sided in most scenarios, which shouldn't be the case anymore with servers. It should reward the player with better internet and the server determines what should and should not hit based on what hits the server first. This goes for both killer AND survivor. Currently, the game rewards bad internet and actually penalizes good internet (in most scenarios), which makes absolutely no sense and is completely unfair.

I'm running at like 16 ping so I really doubt that. I clearly watched run pass the pallet(because I had been respecting them) i swing she then turns and runs back a little and boom vacuums the rest of the distance and stun.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2496866#Comment_2496866

That is what Behavior claims, anyway, but you know, it is pretty obvious something else is going on.

The game i played just the the Feng was abusing it and she knew she was as well. I don't think I've got one hit through a pallet since the hit validation, I mean hits where they messed up because I didn't respect the pallet this time. I need to get enduring on all my killers asap.

  • @Mr_K said:

The survivor stunning you reached the server first.

That makes no sense if they have to run back to the pallet when I'm in mind swing through the pallet?

First sentence is already false since it was always dependant on region and time of day and is mostly subjective.

My game in eu west after 8 pm in the last 6 months had queues so short that i couldn't even choose which BP offering to pick.

In the morning to afternoon I would've to wait 2-10 minutes.

Now with sbmmr there is no longer this extreme rank widening for matching with long queue time (for now). And the distribution of killers and survivors across ratings is most probably just not the perfect bell curve it would need for fast queues. Coupled with the disparity between the perfect 4:1 ratio depending on day time like before sbmmr.

During 2-8 it 10+ minutes i was like 3 before. NA west

  • @Slaughterhouse3 said:

Today when I got on to play, my games felt great! Maybe MMR is just taking time to fully go into effect and place everyone in the right places. Anyone else feel any differences today? Or am I just a lucky guy today?

My games have been way higher skilled survivors after way higher skilled survivors. I've lost 90% of my games yet I'm still seeing the same level of survivor. Out of 40 games I've had 3 random baby survivor groups thrown into the 3 hook matches I've had. Plus q times 10+ minutes for 3-5 minute matches. I honestly haven't had fun in days and I've only played 1 game a day the last couple of days because I just don't want to wait 10+ minutes to get stomped.

  • Its been horrible I've played exclusively killer because I wanted to sort my mmr out on my main role and its been nothing but ridiculous q times followed by matched were ever survivor it better than me. I've played about 40 games and got a 2k in 3 of them against some baby's. Mmr doesn't lower (even know iv lost badly like 3 hooks) like 90% of my matches ever killer i play has went against full meta builds regardless of previous play time.

  • @Purgatorian said:

I had one good day the other day of matchmaking. Now it's gone back to 0k or 1k and still getting the stronger survivors no matter how many matches I lose. Tried playing a lot of spirit matches and getting trounced in every single one of them.

Don't dc and you won't get the ban. Disconnecting hurts everyone in the game so you should get a ban. If it's an unintentional disconnect happening many times, you should take that ban time and find the cause of the problem.

Just wondering how many hour are you im around 400 and its been the same experience for me really good survivors full meta 0-1k most games.

  • @Raptorietz said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2492368#Comment_2492368

And long answer short: Just keep playing and enjoy losing every single match because from what I see the survivors are way more skilled than I am on any killer, barely getting 1 hook and survivors having all meta tier 4 perks while I don't even have tier 3 perks or meta perks on killers.

    S u r e.

This is my last 40 matches. So when does my mmr drop so I don't get steam rolled by survivors way better than me?

  • @illusion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2492378#Comment_2492378

The old system was not based on skill, so red rank survivors could still be potatoes. It was a very basic system that had zero balance to it. The new system has to determine the skill of tens of thousands of players, and then try to figure out where you fit in with them. It will take some time to sort everyone out. I mean, we can't have 100% faith that the devs created a good system, but we do have to give it some time to work before condemning it.

The thing is 9/10 the purple and red rank survivors were better than me.

About the past data I play a game with plague who i played alot of and I'm pretty good with i would say like a 60-70% win rate and clown because the the challenges and the the skill was even higher then on less played killers like Myers and demo.

  • @illusion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2492361#Comment_2492361

They have limited past data to go on. They can't use anything from the previous MMR system. I imagine there are a lot of people that recently came back to the game for the new system, and/or the release of pinhead. A month is probably a good estimate, but I imagine that it will be getting progressively better over that time, not just bad the whole time then suddenly good.

Here the problem im at the same point as the op. Before mmr I hit green ranks and the majority of the survivors I played against were purple and red so I was get stomped my player I shouldn't be playing against. Now with mmr all I've got is 4 survivors way better than me and I'm not playing against lower skilled survivors.

  • @illusion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2492332#Comment_2492332

That would assume that everyone has played the exact amount of matches as you against/with people of the exact same skill. It is not just about the number of games you have played. You can't expect the game to balance the game perfectly, in a week, with tens of thousands of players, all with varying amounts of games played, across numerous maps, with other players of varying skill levels skewing your numbers. A week is nothing. People have been bitching for years to get better matchmaking, but no one seems willing to let it gather enough information to do its job. The previous MMR system was a disaster. The problem I see is that the previous system was more an indicator of time played, rather than skill, so red rank survivors could still be potatoes, and it probably felt good beating them. Now you have to play against more skilled survivors. Ideally, as they beat you, they rise and you fall, and things will balance out. It just takes time.

But they have past data to go on. And real question what is a decent wait? A month of terrible lopsided games were i earn 10k bp and then wait 10 minutes to be put into the same situation. I've have lost the majority of my game but have only seen a lower caliber of survivor like 3 times.

  • @illusion said:

I don't understand how people expect the system to magically determine their skill and everyone else's skill in a short period of time and match them perfectly after only a few days. That is completely unrealistic. Everyone had to start from zero, so it will be rough for a while, that is to be expected.

That is not an excuse we are at almost a week in and I've play around 40 matches and I've lost about 90% because the survivors i face are way better and running full meta builds. On top of that its 10+ minute wait to just get stomped. I got like 3 matches with survivors that were way under my skill and then 37 with a group that I get 3 hooks in a good game. I don't think mmr is working.

  • Played my 3rd match as pyramid head with only two perks all 3 matches were full meta way out of my league survivors for my first time playing the killer. I lost all 3 with about 3 hooks so yeah sbmmr.

  • @Bluebird said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2492235#Comment_2492235

I'm right there with you. Played a Billy match (whom I haven't played in a year or so, since the Overheat Mechanic) and I got stomped. Only reason I got kills was because the Survivors got greedy.

Plus it takes like 10+ minutes to find a match and then you get stomped by survivors way out of your league in a 5 minute match and have to wait 10 more minutes for the same thing.

I know I'm not a good killer alot has to do with my lack of map knowledge but how do I get better when I don't want to play because I'm out classed ever match I get.

One more thing I get crap for BP and its making the grind even worse

  • @SimonSkinner said:

    Change my mind

It's not. Pinhead just dropped, so there are people trying to play him. This happens with every killer release for the following weeks.

But I haven't seen a pinhead in like 3 days when I play survivor.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"Things would be different if there was NO rank based matchmaking, but there is and it's matching with people I don't belong playing against. "

There is indeed no Rank-based Matchmaking. Those are Grades, not Ranks and they are not used for Matchmaking.

I don't think this is really ture yet because grades transferred directly from rank atm the higher grade tends to mean higher skill. Now once reset happens it will be less an accurate.

  • @Breadn said:

I know a new chapter recently came out so a lot of people are rushing to play Pinhead, but my queue times are worse now than the day the chapter came out. I've tried killers who I know I have average MMR with, and killers who I know I have high MMR with (blight, who I've probably gotten 1 exit gate escape with out of 50 matches), and still I'll wait 20+ minutes with no match during the day.

During the evening it's a bit better, the queues are only ~5 minutes, but why is that? Do all the gremlin survivor players get on at night, or is it some matchmaking bug?

I just made a post about this but I'm not high mmr. I'm a average killer and my q times are 10+. I don't see pinhead often when I play survivor so I don't think its the new killer thing.

  • @botrax said:

Sometime its because you have the crossplay activated. You have some period of time were the game is more fun specially during the day survivor are more chill and what i can see the mmr is better too so maybe people prefer to play killer at those time. I got cross play on but it seems like untell 7pm q times are longer than matches. Its just weird and when I play survivor I don't see much pinhead.

I really dont count MoM. It was nerfed heavily shortly after release and it was only a Cash-grab, because otherwise there would be no point to buy a Survivor only-Paragraph if you are not a completionist or like the Character/Actor.

I heard there was alot of that for a little while I was taking a brake.

I'm all for giving survivors more things to do, so it's interesting in the sense that it is something new, but it just seems like it'll cause more problems than it'll solve. Who knows how they'll be balanced at this point or what they'll actually do, but the setup isn't too promising.

The set doesn't sound all that great plus behavior has a tendency to not care about balance or making perks obsolete.

That's a great point lmao I assume they'd have to add basekit aura reading for totems on killer.

It seems like it'll cause problems for the survivor perks too. RIP Inner Strength

I was hopping it would be something like with in 32m you can see the aura or something.

That sucks because itd a way better perk than self care

MoM should never have been in the game the strength that it was and was heavily nerfed into uselessness within a month or two i can't remember, it only recently became usable some time within the last year when they updated protection hits but it definitely isn't meta, it may have been for a little bit but why does that matter.

Because they have released meta perks. Imo the reason the meta we have stays meta because there is no real way to nerf them with out making them usless

  • @Apollos said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2490960#Comment_2490960

That's what's bizarre to me. There is no downtime for killer, so why would they waste their time messing with totems? Survivors are supposed to be breaking them, so trying to protect them also seems pretty bizarre. What about perks like NOED? Will boon totems block it, or will it override them?

It just doesn't really seem very good for gameplay.

Thats my point its a add think that the killer has to sink time into and they don't have any to spare. I would say as long as there is no dull totem noed won't activate unless the chage the perk. I feel like they will make them strong to justify them been like hexs which could tilt the game to a real almost unwinnable game every game.
