FAAAR too many names to name and probably a good deal who won’t even know me seeing as I’ve only maintained a fleeting presence in the forums despite the many years being on the forums as a member and even longer as a lurker before that. (Most of you may probably be thinking “who even is this?” lol)
But I’ll just give a little snapshot of why my interactions with many in here were, and continue to be, meaningful.
I joined at a time not knowing much about the game and honestly feeling frustrated, clueless and armed with a list of gripes. And while I remain clueless, I’ve grown a lot and in no small part due to the people I met here - the good the bad and everything in between. I got to see others’ points of views and even when I haven’t agreed with them, I could see why they held their views most of the times. It gave a humanity behind the name and I realised that many are jostling for what is important for them. There are potatoes like me that may have found a lot of the balance changes hard to digest at first; for some, said changes didn’t go far enough. Others still felt the dynamics change and it was refreshing/the end of the world. I won’t wade into that too much but it was enough to see that different people were having different experiences.
I learnt that ultimately, my own purpose wasn’t to ever become the best player in the game (though I have one ‘A’ tournament - ifykyk lol). No, my satisfaction is playing with people who I could relax and have fun with and when playing solo, I’d set my own challenges and achievements.Back to the point, too many names amongst good friends and I don’t mean to disrespect a single person who I haven’t mentioned - it’s not that you weren’t worth mentioning, more that you know who you are and it’s a given.
EVERYONE on the discord servers I’m part of for one.
For those whose paths don’t cross again, I wish you the best and good luck for the future.

Well thats what I mean, something like that only for extreme cases.
I tried to introduce 2 new players tonight and they got slugged and said they'd never play the game again, by a try hard blight. It's really really hard to explain to newer players why these things are how they are. Jason is really bad for it too.
There needs to be more of a forgiving experience in DBD for both sides, killer is punishing too for that matter, there is a lot they could learn from 2v8.
IDK it's just demotivating trying to share a game you love and people are just always highlighting how ######### the game is for casual players. We need stuff in place to help both sides, leave the comp strats for custom games, or a ranked mode.it’s the Biggest paradox amongst those who know me IRL why I spend so much time in dbd yet actively discourage them from playing it. It’s like where do I start??

Coldwind Farms has had a bumpy road in DBD's history but the worst map to come out of the realm has to be Rotten Fields. Talk about a map where there is nothing notable and just feels like a test map that put into the game by accident because there is NOTHING on it. Compared to the other Coldwind Maps which at least have a main building, Fields only has the Shack, which is one of the only two good loops on the entire map besides the tree pallet loop. This goes for the realm as a whole buts its the worst on Fields but the corn and yellow lighting make it very hard to see, call me crazy but yellow on yellow lighting makes for a terrible sight for the eyes, at least when the realm was at night it was easier to see and the games lighting was darker back then. Way to make the rest of Coldwind. Fields is a geniune waste of space and terrible map design.
I kind of feel dead sands is like the slightly more deluxe equivalent of this lol I mean it’s a shack in the middle surrounded by, barely anything. It’s not even about pallets or structures but the distinct lack of any features that is almost a waste of a map

maybe a half way house to mitigate the sentiments for what @Cornil is saying could be if, when let’s say two people DC and there are bots (and they get the dc penalties) the remaining two survivors and the killer, could have the option to exit the match without penalties if for example it is still at 4 gens or above.
I’m pretty sure stats would probably show that games with two bots at 4+ gens is going to be an exercise in futility. Maybe only at this point, the game could give an in game voting system where everyone or the majority can elect to abandon without penalties?
probably still has flaws but just throwing it out as a possibility -

I am mainly talking about licenses that realistically could happen either due to the license holders being too stingy or literally just because the character that you want it’s just out built different, or maybe the license in general just sounds completely ridiculous in the context of DBD. That’s mainly what I want to talk about here so if you just have a license that is just you know way too out there go right ahead and say it I don’t judge. I wanted Godzilla in for a long time. And honestly, I still Kinda do. ( primarily either Shin or Minus one Godzilla)
I’ve always wondered how something not clearly defined like the evil in Poltergeist would work, but its power implementation could be very out of place without some creative finagling. also Omen or final destination but they are more flexible in that they can use conduits and the environment itself rather than a killer directly doing something.
Otherwise more obvious IPs could be The Thing, Candyman, Killer Klowns (but we’re kind of heavy in that representation now i guess..), Outlast Trials, Phasmo..Outside of horror, Very unlikely but a natural 4 v 1 IP could be teenage mutant ninja turtles. Shredder would probably have to be stretched to give him a killer power but the turtles themselves have very distinct personalities that could translate to perk types.
Ghostbusters as well if a killer is done right spike be similar to the TMNT.
im not necessarily advocating for these by the way just throwing it in the mix lol -

This is wonderfully written, I will just add a tiny disagreement I have with the post that the killer should be required to bring in a perk to do it, given how they only have 4 vs the 16 of the survivor perks. If we talk solely about solo queue, then sure it might be a fair comparison given if 4 of them take it and the killer has to take 1 perk. But if we talk even outside that and 2/3 people take it and still get tremendous value verses the 1 killer taking it.
Sure, you can argue that the killer might not take it ect, but a killer might not tunnel yet most would argue taking decisive strike is a must. I would argue this goes in the same category.
Thanks very much and yes, I broadly agree with your point. My view ultimately is that as BHVR will probably best be able to look at, implement and test a solution or solutions that, although no doubt won’t be popular universally (as with most of the changes ever made in a live service game), it would be worth exploring and testing these things based on what the underlying data behind the sentiments are and if it presents a paradigm shift (which it will as regulating or managing slugging In whatever capacity or form certainly would drastically change things), then it would need handling as well as possible and may need a willingness to commit to the wider layers and nuances that would follow. Above all it would need courage.
I remember just how popular something like dead hard, CoH Franklin’s and gen kick era etc were. Those changes drew outrage in many quarters and is still grumbled at by some but the game has survived. Who knows, it may even lead to new metas or better health. It may even be worse - who knows? and that’s why I feel courage is needed to make changes IF they are warranted. -
Don’t know if I should enter the fray but I’ll say my opinion based on my thoughts and experiences.
I’m going to raise two points - one which is on whether slugging is toxic and another on whether it is abused. The conclusion and what is or should be ‘done’ about it will ultimately be one that only BHVR can decide and what makes them ‘decide’.
So let’s get the straightforward part of what I want to discuss out of the way first:
what I will say is that, you can look at something like power struggle, DS, deliverance etc and say they ‘can/are’ abused, but you also have the status quo of slugging in the category ‘can/is’ abused.
So in a way it’s like saying, we can’t restrict this thing that can and is abused because it is a valid strategy against something survivors can and do abuse if we don’t.
As I said, there’s no point in arguing whose point of view is the chicken or the egg, but the status quo right now, is that slugging can be abused and is being abused by ‘some/many’ and is available basekit to all killers regardless of their power, perks and add ons they’ll bring.
So MY opinion is that something that can and is abused out of the box has a bit more of a danger to the health of the game than something which can and is abused based on whether a survivor brings it or not.
I will say what I THINK should be done and it will be subjective. First of all, I agree with @AbsolutGrndZer0 ooint in that such a nerf or ‘anti’ measure will need to be done carefully to consider things such as whether it will affect others undeservingly and what could be a proper implementation and compensation otherwise it may or may not go down well for some.
we’ve seen beloved perks, play styles and other things come into the game many times before. The game has evolved and so has the need for changes. There was a time where bloodlust wasn’t a thing but came into the game shortly after, ditto window blocking. We’ve seen nerfs to DH, CoH, Franklins, face™ camping and many others on both sides - some have not gone down well for those who relied on it but the game has moved on and it survived regardless.
In conclusion, yes the game has many elements in a tug of war and everybody experience can be valid for them as to why they want something changed. The ones who only can change things at BHVR. People do have a right to express their experiences to surface them for BHVR who have the means to analyse how much of said claims are founded and to what extent they are a focus for the current and longer term health of the game. And by that I don’t mean just number of players but the actual health and balance for the majority, experienced, new, god-like and total potatoes alike.Granted that isn’t an easy task and so here we are.
So I would respectfully and sincerely hope that BHVR can focus on this and ideally work on a best-efforts solution (as certainly none can be perfect and will go down badly for some regardless).

there is always the cases where something that can be considered toxic isnt meant to be toxic, eg Killer hitting surv on hook - if its just done once and without other gestures like headnodding then it could just be them trying to shorten the survs scream
So yeah, i agree with most being mentioned in this thread but there is often a situational aspect to consider as well.
In general, if someone goes out of their way to make someone else feel miserable.
Oh and special case (which happens very often with content creators) is bad mouthing your opponents and/or teammates. Worst case scenario here is starting a witchhunt against other players, but even if not that, insulting someone over not playing perfectly, making some mistakes or even just doing something they personally don’t Like i do consider to be toxic as well, similar to end game chat.
it doesn’t happen often to me I must say, but I was once insulted in a pregame lobby for not bringing an item and then some more for my perk load out in endgame.

Agree there are too many things that are just "you don't get to play" elements which we really dont need
100% this is why I never say a ‘side’ is toxic as if it’s two different species of people. I’ve seen and experienced many times that toxic people play both sides a toxic way. I’ve also seen countless steam profiles where the comments indicate a person is toxic as both killer and survivor.
that’s why I can’t help but laugh and cringe at many of my dbd brethren who defend their role as though it’s a religious order -

The best thing about Blast Mine is I don't need to kick again with Nowhere to Hide to just know the survivor is nearby. Kinda like an arsonist always returning to the scene of the crime, a Blast Mine user is always going to watch the fruits of their misdeeds. Mirrored Illusion is the same.
I have been caught observing these fruits on many an occasion haha

Screaming into the void with this one lol. The player base at large has zero common sense - the amount of times I've wanted to ignore healing for Resilience or any other perk benefit from injured state only for another soloqer to tail me and almost beg to heal whilst ignoring any other task is insane. You can see it now on 2v8: most surv games I have are sh*tshows because everyone is too busy running around trying to get heals in rather than grouping on gens.
slightly off topic but, I’ve long argued that the problem with “common sense” in dbd is that it isn’t, actually all that “common” for a lot of players. Does that speak to their actual lack of common sense? A lack of understanding and education (of the game, i.e. tutorial on some of the more macro elements) or does it speak to some or many just not caring and making a calculated decision (albeit a wrong one in some cases) based on the opportunity cost?

I've played 100s of hours with people I've never spoken to. No one is obligated to speak. It does wonders for your mindset just having someone with you whose playstyle you come to understand and who has your back.
I also play in the middle of the damn night and that's a trickier issue, as you'll meet people who are on that schedule at the time but then go on a more normal one, and you'll lose them. I also play with people in different time zones, so that helps.

Everyone used to refer to Nea as the entity so she was really the underdog when she came out, and as a Brit, gotta love the underdog!
Wait you’re a Brit? I always presumed you were Canadian!
This is most surprising and pleasant - Entity tea party when?!
I choose Lisa and Rose as they are also underdogs lol

I have two mains:
Lisa Garland - she is quite possibly the biggest representation of my DBD persona. She is the one I pour the most BP into.Rose Marigold - probably also a fitting persona for me in DBD, however I purposefully keep her at low prestige (was at 0 for the longest time until very recently when I accidentally pressed the prestige button lol)
I’m generally a potato and not very good at the game but I will usually try my best to support my teammates.

At the current moment, mmr is not actually a deciding factor as much as a starting area, queue times are prio'd over MMR by bumping either up or down in bracket (I believe it's supposed to be down but I think it can go either way), I myself do not know the full extent on how this works, but you will see a lot of variation.
As I noticed myself, if my matches on killer are quick, while on survivor is slightly longer than usual (30 sec - 1 min), I would more likely to face same level or opponents stronger than me
Thats why I’m trying to play between 09 pm to 02 am. Idk, it just feels in such matches people at least trying to play. It doesn’t cancel some mismatch, but it’s the fault of MMR being too flexible rn
If the Devs had published player statistics with their kill/surv rates and somehow grouped them in a specific way, and then published them... maybe the reasons for queue priority over MMR would be less frustrating. But for now...1) We don't know if "mid MMR" really exists or what it means.
2) We don't know exactly how matchmaking works in SFW, other than we know how the match RESULT is reflected for each player (yes, this game has an SFW multiplier that determines the outcome of MMR gains/losses based on how many survivors are saved, which should ideally be the case in solo lobbies too...).3) We don't know exactly whether disconnects allow this system to be manipulated or how much they affect MMR changes.
4) We don't know the proportion of low-MMR and high-MMR players, and how exactly these aspects intersect in the system.
For me, the worst thing is that we still don't know the exact ratio of survivors to killers. I already tried to argue that a broken and imperfect MMR leads to a boost rate for killers, which then extends the search time due to the system's inability to find an equal pool, but no one even bothered to listen, trying to present the position as truth that we simply have more killer players than necessary. Even though indirect tools like NL show that people load their games at a ratio of 5-6 survivors x 1 killer. It's impossible that such a strange MMR system won't sooner or later lead to different averages rates for different sides, which ultimately leads to longer queues.
For your point about sfw, I noticed my matches are easier when I’m playing with friend. But I can’t really do a lot of testing tbh, because it’s hard to engage people I know to help me in this actually boring stat gathering :₽ For my personal experience I usually meet some P100 Blight or Huntress more likely when I’m playing solo. The statistics I collected were largely driven by personal interests and an attempt to analyze my own play. My memory is often very good at recalling game details when I see a team's perk set, their characters, and the map, so I tried to write all of this for future recall. I just came across some rather unpleasant observations as well, such as VERY SERIOUS difficulties with map rotation, the lack or absence of anti-tunnel perks for solo players, and MMR differences.I don't know how interested people will be if I publish this personal stats with some observations. This post is already showed, people… maybe not really interested in it on this forum
stars are always useful - sometimes people’s minds are more occupied or disgruntled by other factors affecting them. Now, this is just an example - for some, let’s say someone who plays purely or mainly soloq and is having a hard time because of (perceived or real) tunnelling, frustrating changes and/or disgruntled experience because of recent killers or heavy losses/bad feeling - they may see this post in isolation and feel “must feel good for a killer to have their woes attached to ‘2K’ or getting sent to easier lobbies”.
I say all this, not to discourage you, but rather the opposite - don’t feel concerned if there isn’t a high engagement on such stats or posts. Sharing stats is always good and who knows, maybe in a few weeks or months, people will refer to your published stats and see patterns overall with their own or the wider state of the game.

being asymetrical game i do think the killer should have it slightly easier than survivors. there is no fear element to playing killer, they cant be killed. but a survivor should struggle to survive and escape. sort of like an easy and hard mode. easy mode being killer role and hard mode being survivor. although i feel solo and swf have their own modes, solo being hard mode and swf being easy mode. as survivor i want the challenge of not knowing if im going to die, where the killer is, who the killer is, it adds to the horror element i want that edge of the seat feeling a true fight for survival. as killer i dont have that fear that survivors have because im the killer, i dont want to struggle against 4 unarmed survivors that that can literally run circles around me. thats just my take on the roles, i dont really know what individual streamers agendas are because i dont get involved in that sort of thing, i just play the game and voice my own opinions rather than echo a streamer.
Streamers offering tips and tricks and showing people certain tactics is fine but i do agree that streamers shouldnt have more of a say in how the game is developed. They should stick to offering people advice and playing for peoples entertainment, not influence the devs to make the game how they say it should be.
I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said in this post. You’ll see I very rarely make a cameo on the forums because it’s often the same arguments and I don’t think I can add much value in that regard. However, as a player of the game who is subject to changes constantly because the voices of the loudest people is often magnified and subsequently, heard, it then impacts not just me (and anyone who plays with me will tell you I’m NOT seeking advantages for ‘my side’ for the sake of ‘winning’. This is a live service games with new additions and balances and there is a natural jostling of where to position and which direction to take the game in.
competitive players want to be competitive. Casual players want to be casual. It’s not a right or wrong but someone has to make a decision as to where to take the game. Those who want to play competitive are justified in their reasons but don’t have the right to say the game shouldn’t cater to a casual audience. And of course vice versa - ultimately it’s the devs who decide that. Imagine if this was an old school arcade game - how many would write to sega, Nintendo and co and say “nerf this immediately!” (I’m sure some did lol). The game is the game and you play it or don’t play it.obviously things ARE different now and this is the landscape we deal with. I can shut up and just read comments then accept changes and that come about from them potentially and either ‘rise to the challenge’ or leave.
I am perfectly happy with the game being one that puts the killer at an advantage - I agree with everything in this post but I don’t want the challenge to be a frustrating one. I have lost countless friends who have stopped playing this game. I myself only play now due to a handful of friends. I feel the game is approaching a stage where it is one or two bad decisions away from even more people leaving.
As much as I love this game, if I lost a few key friends I don’t think I could play it. And this isn’t a veiled threat - I mean why on earth would others care if some random person leaves the game? I’m only saying it because mine is a voice and voices need to be considered. Not just the loudest ones who think they are competitive and playing at elite level and theirs is the only ones that matter.
sorry for the rant, it’s almost 4am here and I woke up and read these forums. Any bad words are probably typos. -

i can see both sides of the coin, the casual player that doesnt take gaming seriously and the competitive must win at all cost mindset. if someone is content with their life and wants a casual easy going game thats great. likewise someone that is older and perfectly happy with their life might want to win at all cost, great. But just because people do or dont take gaming seriously isnt a reflection of their personal life goals. im fortunate enough that i am able to play games in work, i have a great life, perfectly happy but that doesnt mean i will take gaming more seriously or less seriously because im older.
The streamer thing i kinda agree with, but even before social media and streamers and even the internet i used to get gaming mags that came with tips and tricks for top games and advice for beating bosses or tactics to use in multiplayer matches. if i saw something useful or fun i might share it with my friends or surprise them by beating them using a new method i read about. Streamers are basically the modern day equivalent to the old school gaming mags, they just share the tips and tricks and advice online for free instead of a mag.
only these gaming mags want nerfs and buffs to suit their agenda. They want to be competitive, but at the cost of having the other guys be at a disadvantage. Some want to be competitive whilst having no challenge. not to generalise but I often feel Many killers see the role as the power role (and it is) and also see themselves as the only competent playing side AND want the challenge to be for the survivors - yet want all the changes to be beneficial for them only.
Which is fine from a selfish point of view but is narcissistic. And I see some dedicate hours and hours to argue their case on these forums to what end? Keep advantages. So much for challenge

There's too much power on our side to play with poor sportsmanlike conduct and not enough people willing to look past their own results to ensure everyone in the match has a good time. That's why we NEED these systems. It's just human nature.
It is not fun to be tunneled out at the start of the game and be forced to sit there, unable to play with your friends, but stuck watching the match instead of moving on to the next game because it's the only way to continue playing with your friends. Downtime is the absolute worst thing you can have in a game. Killers need to think about the survivors too. There's more to it than just getting a 4K. You need to get it without spoiling the survivor's right to have a good time too. These systems are trying to fix a glaring flaw in the game's design that's been around since the beginning.
When I play killer, I usually don't even kill anyone. I get my eight hooks and then let them escape. I usually do it with 4 or 5 gens remaining. I main Daddy Myers and most matches I don't even use Tier III and I use the weakest addons I still have. I literally afk at the exit gate and wait for it to be powered so I can open it and scoot them along to next game. I don't camp or tunnel, at all. I do not use gen regression perks. If I need someone to stop progressing the gens while working on my eight hooks, but they have already been hooked twice, then I slug. I even try to make sure no more than two are hooked at a time so the survivors don't get left to die on hook.
I'm not expecting anyone to go this far by any means. I get you want to win, but I promise you that you do NOT need to use such scummy tactics to do it. It's just too easy to 4K that there's no excuse for having some consideration for the other players playing the same game.
Survivors still kill themselves all the time, btw. They fail to hook, or get each mad at each other, or DC to become a bot which I then kill. I admit, I will kill someone if they are proving to be a bad actor, but that's just to protect the fun of the other three playing. You can't go higher than Gold I w/o killing btw.
No one likes being nerfed or the game being forced to be harder, but it truly is needed. Please try to keep the survivors' experience in mind and just get use to the much needed changes. Thank you.
I often joke with @THE_Crazy_Hyena @cogsturning and @HeroLives that 20% of my hours in DBD is in the lobby, 20 on a hook, 30 slugged 25% watching others while dead, 2% blessing boons, 2% plot twisting and 1% for the rest lol
and ironically it probably is fairly accurate lol -

because a lot of survivor squads just throw. Part bad matchmaking, part emotions, part straight-up inefficient play. That’s why KR sits high. If you’re even a halfways stable player and your group plays cold-blooded, max-efficiency, Survivor is still the power role vs most killers on the roster.
and yet evidently the data and mixed experience shows that isn’t the case. Inferring from your posts, it seems you play super efficiently and ‘cold-blooded’ as this is what you deem to be how the game should be played and you feel that even though you probably have a 99.999999% KR, you still feel survivor is easy; that the KR stats average (60% for killers) is only because so many games are played sub-optimally by even high MMR survivors as they are emotionally driven and not efficient..
IF everyone just played optimally and without human emotions, the game would absolutely die. You may feel that is how it should be played, but those stats and experiences you mentioned should prove that people don’t want to play that way. And if they do, you have somewhere you can go: the comp scene.
what was that expression again?“weaklings die, big deal!”

Uhm I just want to tell people this actually has nothing to do with the patch notes or what's going on in the game this is actually a personal thing
Quiting DBD and gaming in general.
The reason is that something in my personal life outside of DBD has made me in a possible homeless situation and this could be my actual very last post on the website.
I want to say before I go is that thank you for giving me a game to get my mind off the world that's been crumbling down around me.
This does have something to do with me becoming homeless very soon and will most possibly never be able to play again.
Regardless of the games problems its a amazing game
I started playing sense The Lichs release and I Main The Unknown P33 which this means im canceling my road for P100 and this is where ill stop playing 100%
I know most people don't care but I do have a very strong bond to DBD because of the years I spent on the game. Just seeing the game go just breaks me as I speak.
Im now going to step into the Fog where I belong.
Thank you all for everything.
To : The DBD community and Devs
Hey Skeleton, I’m so so sorry to hear about your plight and things like games and other stuff pale into comparison when this kind of adversity hits..
I don’t want this to sound like these words but I sincerely hope that things get better for you and sending thoughts and best wishes for you friend.
Life is like a book and there and great and terrible chapters and pages. I hope this dark chapter is short for you and that better and brighter ones are written soon. Please stay strong and use any form of support network to get through this.
I’m glad the DBD community and game was a source of happiness for you and will remain here when things get better for you you.
warm regards,
DBD family

While I don't play her much, I do have Adept Alan Wake despite never playing him once because I got it with her and have never used him. Haha.
Haha This is your calling! You have to start using her now 🥰

My mains, Lisa Garland and especially Rose Marigold seem to also be on the unpopular side. Poor Rose, I think I might be the only one that plays her in the game lol

I did mention i haven't played sense the TWD chapter so this maybe not be my real states of this chapter. These where from maybe a year ago
sure I understand but unless you’re barely getting kills and getting loss after loss, it can’t be all bad.
As a survivor, honestly I don’t play for wins anyway but my escape rate is probably laughable. But I don’t want to leave the game each time my fave perk gets a nerf or a a new killer aura read means I’ll get targeted quicker though I’m not good at looping etc.
I know I’m not ‘good’ at the game so I try to find others ways to enjoy it even if the direction of travel of the game is more toward looping ability and so further from my skill set.
Sometimes we have to empathise with others in the game. Today, You see some nerfs/buffs which you perceive will make you feel worse as a killer. But just think that this is will make some poor soul in soloQ enjoy the game a little bit more.In any case, do prioritise your mental health and wellbeing - I genuinely hope you will feel better and never say never. Come back to the game with the intention to enjoy regardless of changes and numbers etc

I meant *survivor side (sorry can’t edit in forums)

Tbh I haven't really touched the game sense The TWD chapter so this maybe not my real stats
you win over half your games.. what would make you satisfied?
Can you imagine someone like me who would barely escape more than 20-25% of the time hearing someone who has your successful rates saying the killer side is better and so they’re leaving? -

i agree with you, im not saying we should not stop the abuse, but survivors who know what they are doing, are the strong ######### in the game, not the killers… i know that because i main killer and some friends main survivor, when i play as survivor, i suck and their killers seem so strong, but when i play as killer outside of the frindly game, its a damn war with swfs, against my friends who are not bad, i have to play basically like these changes are trying to force, so we can have fun, but against stronger survivors, things go sour… they want to abuse mechanics as much as some killers or more… so thats what i am saying, if we stablished this behaviour as problematic to the "shoot in the face" extent, lets act like this on both sides
Absolutely - I don’t doubt that there are these scenarios and so my suggestion is to look stopping or removing any abusable strategy.
for example, I don’t know any survivor friends who at least begrudgingly, didn’t think something like old breakout + wiggle off with sparse/non regenerating hooks or old ftp+buckle up, flash saves even when killer faces the wall etc was broken and can have no qualms about such changes - and any further ones should also be looked at on both sides going forwards.I have some ideas which I’ve mentioned in the past too - if there are survivors who are quite obviously outclassing a killer (let’s say 2 gens pop without a down for example), there could be an contrast in gen time for remaining gens, or a new feature such as all survivors required to get ‘parts’ (these could be in the guise of sparkly spots in random places across the map) in order to even start on a remaining gen.
The point is, I don’t want to feel horrible when subject to gameplay which takes me out of the game in a manner which is targeted and very difficult to counter; similarly I would not want my killer friends to also be subject to things which makes them feel helpless too.
I’ve died a million times in this game - trust me, dying and ‘losing’ is an expectation and I don’t mind it. I don’t want the power to outclass killers. I’ve want the balance which stops be being able to have agency in a game.
Much better ideas than mine have been posted in the forum, so the how and the why has been articulated in a way that I can’t begin to. I just want the game to be enjoyable and ‘fair’ as possible for an asymmetric game. As a starter; the base kit ability to affect the experience of a player should be looked at. The fallout following it, should then be looked at.

I have to say I agree strongly with many points made by @MDRSan above.
I have spoken in the past about how stealth from the survivor side has become almost totally eradicated.
With smaller maps, less resources and/or less useful placement of loops, more dead zones, larger roster of high mobility killers and powers, countless aura perks for killers and less aura hiding perks for survivors, nerf/reduction in potency with both perks and items - I’m not saying that some of these are not justified, but the results speak for themself: their had been a shift to the killer dominance.
Now this killer dominance in and of itself isn’t an issue - of course it’s the power role. But rather than encourage killers (not all but many), it has helped facilitate a base kit abusable strategy - the out and out tunnel, slug and camp of a survivor from the game. - Hold on! I’m NOT saying that these are not viable based on context and timing (end game for example or if the situation calls for a short period of slugging, camping etc) I’m talking about the base ability to do this from the off. And sure, you can say it’s a strategy to level the playing field - but that just invites a counter argument for others to ‘Gen-rush’ and or bring ‘busted’ items and perks.
I believe if the base kit ability to tunnel, slug and camp incessantly should be considered an abusable mechanic of the killer role. So I am for the changes and then, if it looks like this is skewing the spectrum toward survivors too much, tweaks and (scaling) changes to nerf things like items, gen time etc should be looked at properly to even the field. One thing is clear, there has to be a paradigm shift. And one side cannot say ‘such and such is abusable’ whisky currently having an abusable base kit strategy that can be deployed. Everything is subjective so some might argue over what ‘abusable’ means but at the moment, the survivor side doesn’t feel great at all and no doubt killers also feel the same. The first step must be to remove the base kit ability to remove agency and lead to non-play.
I am a survivor main and for sure I have some biases and the above may seem to generalise and trivialise some situations - I know things are nuanced. But like I said, this should absolutely be tested and then following it, look at any other tweak to balance.

I know this post has probably been turned over and over in the compost pile so many times. But why so toxic? I try to enjoy this game the best of my ability, I mostly play killer because its the most fun for me. But I have almost 5k hours clocked in and still the survivors are so unbearably toxic. Like what are they achieving throwing toxic insults at a real person behind the screen?
I just can't fathom the mentality of some survivors, I don't let it get to me but like cmon it gets annoying when a survivor comes to my end game chat to start calling me names and other verbal insults because they didn't get their way.
PS This goes for both sides, who are equally toxic, I just see it more on survivor since I play killer more.one thing I’ve noticed when I do the odd steam profile check is on the wall of certain players, they get comments such “-rep toxic player [insert toxic action as survibor]” and in the same comments section, “-rep tunnelled and hit on hook and BM”
my conclusion is that toxic players are toxic and are probably the same person to be toxic on either side.
So I no longer see it as ‘toxic survivors’ v ‘toxic killers’. I’ve come to the realisation that all these people that killers and survivors dislike are probably most likely facing those doing it on both sides they play.
naturally, as a survivor or killer main, we’ll see this accumulated experience and think the other side is the worst.
