I'd be curious to see it, because that doesn't make a lot of sense unless the downed survivor had started recovering already, or maybe if you had healed them a little bit with the medkit before using the syringe. Because it shouldn't take any less than 8 seconds.
I had to go into another LIVE match to get a better video for this, the new video clears up the actual time which is 8 seconds yes, since 100% would cut the time in half.
My mistake was that I added 1 second to the video I had the day before, since it cut off 3-2 seconds before the video was actually recorded, I've since gotten a better video and edited the comment above to reflect this new found information (plus common sense would reveal that 100% is only half of 16 seconds, making it 8... so 6 isn't possible if the healing speed is 100%)
Anyways here's the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8u7irMolpsSOME SIDE INFORMATION
Apparently, healing caps at 100% for anything. I didn't know during the time of this question, and assumed it went past 100% because of the plethora of perks and add-ons that involve increasing the healing speed.
So, as a result I thought that because of how many perks and add-ons there were, that the percentage could exceed 100%. But it doesn't, it's always capped at 100% for anything you use outside of We'll Make It.
What does that mean? It means this is the most reduced time the Syringe can half, so 8 seconds is how long the Syringe takes with a 100% healing boost.
Something i'll eventually add to the DBD Wiki since this information doesn't seem to be anywhere... if I make an account for the Wiki that is, which I don't know if I even will.

first, graphics card
Your Graphics card is fairly outdated for 2020 standards, so i'd personally say it's time to upgrade that, but that's my opinion. Something like a 1050 or 1050 TI is decent to use still in 2020, not amazing since it's going to soon be outdated eventually, but it's still a decent choice for an upgrade
If you can use a bit more money for a graphics card, than a 1060 or 1070 TI would better a be a better choice.
a 1070 TI is more expensive, but a 1060 or 1050 TI is around 150-100$, at least from ebay and amazon searches.
second, processor
I'm not really experienced with computers, I just know a few things about Graphics Cards and what not.
But from reviewing your processor, it appears to be fairly dated as well, so i'd say yes to upgrading it, but to what is not something I'm really sure of. You best option to looking into cheap processors is through youtube videos and reviews.
ending statement for the post itself
This sub-forum is mostly for DBD related questions, this question is more fitting for something like the Off-Topic sub-forum like MakoaKeo stated above. That's the best place to post non-DBD related questions, but for the sake of answering questions, I took the liberty to give some knowledge on the subject from an outside view.
Here's the link again for any future off-topic NON-DBD related questions:

1.0.4 was the most fun for me. A lot of infinites have been cut and survivors started slowly touching pallets and other windows, and not just infinites 24/7. There were no rules, no metas, no tierlists. Billy could flick, bump into space, he was so bugy overall. It was great. My most fond memory was around that time, when you could bumb onto the harvester infinite to fly off and land on top of it to dunk the survivor with a revving chainsaw. It was hilariously fun and stupid.
Didn't the Iron Grasp and Agitation meta still exist in 2016?
The infamous Jake Park would break all the hooks and force the Killers to use the basement... or something along those lines. And since hooks didn't respawn back than, this is why people used those two perks for the most part.

Some backstory about this topic
Back in a long forgotten age! (Literally like a year ago or less), a forum user by the name of Orion had the most posts, while @GrootDude was behind him at the time.
As a result, Orion made a meme about it, and the mods and or devs gave him a crown with his Nurse pfp as a sort of meme for a week. So, people made memes about Orion being our king and that GrootDude was to surpass him one day!
Than because of life or something (he wasn't banned from what I can see), Orion vanished when the world needed him most! Than GrootDude became our new king, and ever since than, this is the tale of crown... or something.
Some other nerd also had a lot of posts or something... but I don't know if we can talk about him since he's banned. @Boss is the closest active person to surpass GrootDude now, and that's about it for "story".

It's mostly a stand alone perk that works off of stealth builds or any build in-general.
As said above, Stake-Out is a nice combo since they both have the same requirements, if you're trying out for anything other than a stealth build, than you can try using it with an already established Houdini build.
A Houdini build is as follows, Dance With Me, Quick and Quiet, Lithe, and Diversion.
- Dance With Me [A Kate perk] (Simple concept, when you fast vault or leave a locker in a Sprint, you leave no scratch marks for 3 seconds. Alone is niche, but combined with Quick and Quiet can remove the notification the fast vault gives AND Lithe gives a speed boost after the vault is complete)
- Quick and Quiet [A Meg perk] (When you quickly vault or go into a locker, the visual and auditory notification that's supposed to come after is muffled. The cool-down however for the next use of this perk is 30/25/20 seconds, depending on the tier it's in. The perk is actually useful on its own with many different builds, but for this one it's used to remove the notification that comes from a fact vault with Dance With Me and Lithe, it's important for this combination)
- Lithe [A Feng Min perk] (Once you do a fast vault in or out of a chase your running speed is boosted by 150% of your normal running speed for 3 seconds afterwards. This is also important for the "Houndini build" as it's the main thing that distances you from the Killer while also confusing them on which direction you ran or went! This is because Dance With Me removes the scratch marks you leave for that 3 second duration and Quick and Quiet removes the notification from the fast vault)
- Diversion [A Adam perk] (Depending on the Tier of Diversion you're using, Diversion can create a auditory and visual notification at 10/15/20 meters away! It requires you to be in the Killers Terror Radius for 45 seconds and is used by crouching and pressing "Activate Ability" button to throw the pebble. You might ask "Why would I use this on this build? Because you could simply run far away while the Killer is confused and if they saw you runs somewhere but lost sight at the end, you could crouch and throw the pebble to another direction after the sprint ends, making them believe you fast vaulted somewhere else or that something else is happening close-by, which wastes MORE time)
As said in the explanations above, the perks Lithe, Dance With Me, and Quick and Quiet make up the "Houdini build". They do this by removing the fast vault notification with Quick and Quiet and than removes the scratch marks you leave after the fast vault for 3 seconds WHILE also giving you a speed boost for 3 seconds at the same time of Dance With Me's activation.
So in a sense, if you get the Killer to lose sight of you in a chase, you can fast vault at a window (for example) and than run off somewhere without leaving a trail! If they saw a glimpse of you at the start of that run but not the end, than you can crouch afterwards and throw the pebble somewhere to make them think you fast vaulted something else OR someone else is close-by.
Or of course, you could just use the 3 perks to hide in a locker, but this makes Diversion have a use with the build itself!
conclusion (tl;dr)
Use it with a stealth perks like Fixated or Urban Evasion to rack up the charge meter in the Killer's Terror Radius (while also hiding a lot better), or use it in a Houdini Build to divert them to other locations at the end of the sprint.
The perk goes well with mostly every build, but the perk is at it's best with a stealth build.

As a killer.
Usually they leave the hook giving me at least a free hit.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1000854#Comment_1000854
Exactly !
That depends if they don't also mind-game you and make you waste a hit on the hooked Survivor, than hit them into the injured state afterwards.
At lower ranks this isn't an issue, but if the Survivor is good at a lot of loops THAN it becomes an issue for higher ranks. Hence why the speculation that the hit-box was rumored to be removed for hooked Survivors, but that's still a rumor.
-
Sadly I don't play the Switch or console version, but I do know this, the Switch versions file size is a lot smaller than the normal file size for console and PC, so the graphics are a bit lower as a result and the file size is smaller to compensate for the Switches lag issues.
From what I know, the Switch usually has some lag issues with even its Triple AAA titles from time to time, so this could explain the lag you might be experiencing. Console has it better because it's been out longer on those systems, and it's had time for optimization changes and updates to it as well, while the Switch is still very new.
So in a sense, it could just be the Switch OR the game still being fairly new for that version.

Personally I do not move from the hook, especially by having two people immobilized.
That statement confuses me, you don't move from the hook as a Killer or a Survivor?
If you mean as a Killer while the other Survivor stands under the hooked Survivor, than they'll eventually just unhook them fully and take a hit off you while the other Survivor gets away. In-general, i'd just mind-game where you'd face next and hit them, if you miss, than you'll still have enough time to hit them on the rebound.
-
No, hiding behind the hooked Survivor to avoid a hit and get an unhook is not an exploit, it has been rumored that they will remove hooked Survivor hit-boxes because of this issue in the past, but whether or not this is true or not is unknown.
Although, it could be argued that this is abusing a design choice with how the hooked Survivors hit-box works, but the fact the hit-box does exist leads me to believe that this was an intentional concept (Whether that's true or not is also unknown).
Here's the link to the game rules AND a quote from the section on exploits:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
"Exploit bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage"
The same argument was also made that blocking up upstairs of the Thompson house was also considered an "exploit", but this has since been debunked for many reasons to how the exit to the upstairs was designed.
You could say the same for this.
-
Depends on your rank as well, the time of day, and the rank reset just happened on top of that.
Recently I've also had a bit slower queue times at Red/Purple Ranks since the reset, so it isn't just hitting Grey Ranks, Yellow, and Green, it's also hitting Red and Purple a bit as well.
But naturally, Grey and Yellow always had bad queue times, so if you're in either of those, than this is why.
-
No, it's not.
You could dodge 1000 times and it isn't bannable, it isn't listed in the game rules as a bannable offence so it isn't bannable. I don't see why it would be anyways, it doesn't do anything besides make your match-making longer.
Here's the link where every bannable offence is listed:

Edited to give the actual reduction time for the 100% healing boost on the syringe
After doing this in a LIVE match (Twice for another video that wasn't missing a part of the heal), I've come to the conclusion with the Syringes healing time after the 100% healing boost cap is applied.
Once the 100% Healing Speed increase is applied, the Syringes base 16 second time is reduced to 8 seconds. And since common sense was given to me at a later date, 100% of course would cut 16 seconds DOWN to 8 seconds, but it just needed to be confirmed or not.
So yes, the Syringe only takes 8 seconds with the capped 100% Healing Speed increase with We'll Make It and any other healing item boost. Healing speed can only be increased by 100%, so this is the most reduced time the Syringe can have.
-
I can't personally say, I don't have a "favorite version" because I don't really pay attention to that... in a sense.
I just play and follow along with whatever is given to us in each new version, thats about it. I never really thought about WHAT the best version was in the past. I guess I liked the GhostFace version? I guess? Cause it added GhostFace...?
I don't know, I never thought about it because it's just an update to DBD, its not really something you'd naturally think back to and say "This was my favorite DBD patch!"

I'm not entirely sure what you're referencing here, if he has Devour Hope at Tier lll, than it's a 5% speed boost buff when he hits 2 tokens.
Blood-Lust is a mechanic that only activates when you're in a long chase, so in a sense, you can go faster with it yes, but I don't see why changing Devour Hope would inhibit this mechanic... or if that's not what you mean, than this is because it's hard to understand the meaning behind your comment.

I need more of an explanation for this issue in order to help you. What exactly happens when you try to load into a lobby with Killer or play a match with Killer?
Can you even load into a lobby? If so, what's it like? What version of DBD are you on? And any other bits of information that might be helpful is appreciated.
-
Xbox doesn't have text chat, neither does any other version of DBD outside of the Steam version and I think the Windows version as well.
The only way to chat to others post-game is to message them through the Xbox or PS4 messaging system. Even if you have Xbox Game Pass, you still can't do this. Xbox Game Pass also doesn't connect you to PC players, which is still a common misconception that players mistake as a "hidden Cross-Platform feature" when it actually isn't.
-
The balance changes didn't really change that much to make her "bad", if anything she's still a top tier threat at Red Ranks, she just doesn't have add-ons like Prayer Beads (Which was 100% within reason to nerf) and other such add-ons were changed as well to follow a more fair approach to playing against her.
Also her collision was removed in her phasing, which gave her a solid counter to use against her, unlike before where if the Spirit was very skilled in their main, than they would for sure down you in most cases.
So in a sense, when you get over those add-on changes and slight tweaks to her power, than she's still in a sense a top tier Killer, she's just more fair and fun to play against now. Of course some would argue that they did enjoy facing her for the challenge, but i'm speaking for the general audience that faced her that didn't.

I know this is a meme, but they're speaking in-general lol.

There are actually a few factors that go into this. Your rank is one, your region, and of course the time of day you're playing at.
first, your rank
If you're at Grey Ranks (Which is around Rank 17-20) than you'll naturally get very long queue times for whatever time of day it is, mainly because not a lot of people stay in Grey Ranks for long, and because the match-making for that rank has always been a bit iffy.
Ranks like Yellow (the rank after Grey) or Grey will always have bad queue times because of this, so they usually can take about 10minutes+ or more depending on the time of day as well as the region you're in, if not many people in your region are in Grey or Yellow ranks, than the match-making will take longer to find a suitable team for you to play with or against, this usually means you'll be paired with higher ranked Survivors or Killers, since the match-making couldn't find anyone equal or to your rank, so they look above that to fill in the time.
second, your region
Your region is also another factor that plays into match-making queue times. If your rank is low with a region that doesn't have many players in that match-making pool, than the match-making will take longer (depending on the time of day for what that regions peak times are as well).
So, your region isn't a massive factor into this, but it somewhat does change how the queue times are. If your rank is high though, queue times can be slightly better or a lot better! But like I said, the main factors are rank and time of day, the region is just a bi-product of how the match-making searches for suitable players in that same region.
Basically, your region can also lessen or worsen the queue times depending on where you live. So if you're in North America in Grey Ranks, the queue times will be bad (because it's Grey Ranks), but it might be slightly better than someone in say... Germany for example.
third, the time of day
Last, if the time of day for where you live is not at its "peak hours", than the match-making will be a lot slower at low and even high ranks. Sometimes though, if your rank is high, than this isn't really noticeable... if your rank is low, than it's slightly more noticeable.
conclusion
It really does depend on these factors above, but since you're quite new, it seems that you're just starting out in Grey Ranks.
If this is the case, than your match-making will of course take awhile UNTIL you reach a higher rank like Green Ranks (That's about Rank 8-12), which usually starts to bump up the match-making queues quite a lot.
So, in a sense, you'll naturally have longer queue times because less people are IN those ranks, but the time of day can also make this a lot longer... and the region can lessen or worsen this, depending on where you live.
-
Still, speculation.
No accurate or official date is said anywhere, and they usually don't give one until it's about to be the update or when the update is LIVE.
-
There is no official date, sorry.
Usually a new version of DBD does not include a date and time, however, Peanits has confirmed that it will be at least two weeks after the start of the PTB, this was about a week ago now... so it's speculated to be around January 21st or so I hear.
But again, this is not an official date for version 3.5.0, so take it as you will.

I believe it's supposed to be a fail safe for when a DC happens, so that's why you lose the items... for some reason.
Also, I was going off of when this was posted, so I just assumed this was posted AFTER that match. My point is though, there will be change to this soon and they will be punished more severely as a result.

@Fibijean said:
I would call that the smart move, not an exploit or holding the game hostage. Unkind? Yes. Unlawful? No.
A bad design is not the same as an error. An error is, definitionally, a mistake, but it's not a mistake that those stairs are the only exit or entrance to the top floor of the Thompson House. I'm certain that the map designers knew that was the case when they made it. Exploiting an error in design would be something like a wall with no collision that survivors could walk inside and become unhittable. Something which was clearly not intended to be a feature of the map.
It's also not holding the game hostage, no matter how long they stand there, as long as they're revving their chainsaw. If the killer were just standing there and refusing to injure or down survivors even when they are in range, that would be a different story. A player is only holding the game hostage when there is no way for the other players to leave the match without disconnecting. An unworkable situation is not the same as an unwinnable situation. The survivors can't win in that situation, but they can leave the game by getting downed and dying, something which is entirely within the survivors' control, so it's completely within the rules for the killer to do that.
I personally don't agree that it's not holding the game hostage because the option to die by the chainsaw is a thing, but I don't make up the rules of course.
If they sat there for hours on end doing nothing and not hitting anyone and refusing to move, THAN it's considered holding the game hostage. The issue with certain subjects is that there are many grey areas and factors to it, if the Killer wants to down you when you give them the chance, than it's not holding the game hostage...
If you stand there and do nothing for hours, than it is. The issue I have with this is that you're still blocking an exit with your body and refusing to move until someone decides "welp, I have no choice... guess i'll just die from this unfair scenario" and that's it.
In my opinion, I don't like how that's ok, and in a sense it could be considered a "Reverse HTGH" if they don't choose either of those options... I guess? But to me, I don't agree that it is the Survivors fault for not dying to the Killer (they're LeatherFace or someone who can Insta-down), as this seems like an unwinnable situation.
-
It used to be more common because Red Ranks would go back down to Green, and some of these Red Rank players were notorious for DCing if the match didn't go their way. But because of the new rank reset system being added, they're just deranked back to a previous rank now.
So, this isn't exactly the main issue anymore. It just seems to be the time of day you're playing in and the specific players that do this are more common at this time.
I'm sorry that this issue is happening to you, but once the DC penalty system is in full effect, than they'll start to be punished more for this. So like many of us, you'll unfortunately have to just tough it out until that system is in full swing.
I'm sorry about the loss of items and time, but there will be change soon!
-

Immeresed in the atmosphere aka crouching around and being a little baby using urban evasion. Don't be like those type of survivors y'all be a good survivor 😁
Immersed could mean many things, but that's the most common thing it's linked to yes. My argument was that by saying "Don't play immersed buddy' sounded like you were insinuating that he was by default playing immersed.
That's why it sounded that way, since on text it could mean anything.
-
@MakoaKeo said:
I think you meant to pick option 2, you said 3 which was the option you proceeded to explain as an exploit lol.
Stating standing there for hours is a ridiculous example, since no one will spend hours in a game like that just to secure a single down.
As for it being an exploit, IMO that's a ridiculous thought as it's only a problem if
1) the survivors refuse to give in and attempt to bait the attack
and
2) only a real threat to killers who can one-shot (like Leatherface in the above example). In any other situation, the survivor gets smacked once and can run away (See: Basement blocking for a hit after an unhook while the survivors are fleeing, or blocking a survivor in on a totem space or another space a killer can body-block a survivor in)
I would argue that by refusing to get hit for putting themselves in the position to where they only have ONE escape, the SURVIVORS are the ones causing the game to be held hostage. In this scenario, only one survivor is knocked into the dying state while the other is free to either be chased down or unhook the survivor.
Is it sleezy? yes. An exploit? Not at all.
Small error, sadly it happens too often for me at this point.
And yes, people actually do stand there for hours to secure a kill or to spite the Survivors... it's happened before, hence why the term "holding the game" hostage was created to be a bannable offence.
Also, I was going off of the Killer being LeatherFace, but I guess I ALSO forgot to mention that as the primary example, since you used him in your question and I followed up with it. If it was any other Killer, than they can only hit someone or if they want to break the rules... sit there for 30 minutes+ just to spite the Survivors. Which again, actually does happen from time to time.
As for the two examples "1 and 2" doubting this, I already answered 2 above, but I'll answer 1 in this. You can't bait an attack that the Killer refuses to due out of their own uncertainty that they'll hit it, unless you walk right into him to get chainsawed, than he won't use the attack, hence if he just sits there for minutes on end to an hour to just get "two easy downs", than he's holding the game hostage to do so.
as for the argument of this being a "reverse hTGH"
I disagree, The Killer is the one blocking the stairs, if they don't want to get in-trouble for something that's bannable (if they stood there for that long), than they should just chase the one Survivor and down them, rather than sit at the top of the stairs to get two downs.
In a sense, they started this, so they're deemed liable for it. The Survivors wouldn't be "holding the game hostage" because they didn't intend for this to happen NOR did they want this to happen. Why would you want to let the Killer down you because he wants "two easy kills" and if you refuse than it's "their fault", that isn't exactly fair.
regardless of all of that, here's the point
Example 3 is camping, I pick example 2, I agree that this isn't really an exploit after further thought and other examples that also happen on other maps (if the hooked Survivor is dying on the hook, it isn't holding the game hostage, if they stand there long after, than it's holding the game hostage), I disagree that it's the Survivors causing the "game to be held hostage", and I also re-instate that this can be considered holding the game hostage if the Killer just stands there and refuses to move until someone is downed OR they give up and just down someone.

I do want to say though, since Dead Hard has the survivor meta changed? Yes and no. But if we have a nerfed ruin, then what’s going to even the odds? Killers can still be rushed and either way no one likes a slug meta, it’s boring and I know this too well.
We'll see what happens, 3.5.0 isn't LIVE yet, and a lot has been said since the PTB and before the PTB was announced (when the announcement was made for that change).
Just because Ruin was changed, doesn't mean other Survivor perks need to be changed in response... this isn't a bargain, perks get changed and that's that, whether others want different perks also changed in response is not up to them, its up to the devs.
We can of course voice these opinions in a civil manner and see where it goes.
-
i'll answer the question itself and than the follow up question
I'd pick option 2, since I'd prefer to just down someone and than let the other person unhook the hooked Survivor to extend the game further and gain more BPs. I don't personally play for the 4k in-mind every game, and usually when the option if given to me, I just let the last person escape anyways.
Usually what I do is play LIKE i'm after the 4k but don't actively use choke points like that to get it or camp, than after everyone is dead and I find the last Survivor MILES away from the hatch, I play like i'm going to down and hook them. But after I down them, I just give them the hatch, so it gives me a sense of accomplishment that I could get the 4k, but I don't take it unless i'm re-ranking back to Red OR i'm after BPs desperately.
Most of the time I just down them like its a real chase, than let them escape.
as for the follow up question
Blocking the stair case with your body while revving your chainsaw to let the person die on the hook is definitely camping. It's grey area though, it's camping, but is it holding the game hostage? In that situation if you just stand there for hours and hours than of course it's holding the game hostage, but it may also be considered "exploiting", since you're using a flaw in the buildings design to guarantee a kill from the hooked Survivor, so in a sense, it's personally an exploit they're abusing to do so.
Whether it actually is or not is up for debate, but an exploit is usually something that's abused by a player to get ahead of the games design, so blocking the staircase at the top of the building with your body so nobody saves them is considered to me, an exploit.
Here's the link to the game rules that backs this up, as well as a quote below that link:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
"Exploit bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage"
So personally, I consider THAT an exploit, but it's up for the support team and devs to decide if that's the case. The signs point to it being the case, but i'm not a dev nor am I affiliated with BHVR to confirm this as a 100% fact.
but besides opening up another discussion within the discussion
I consider this to be camping yes, it's definitely camping one spot to prevent a Survivor from being unhooked. Even if it's not directly hooking a Survivor, they're still camping the upstairs to prevent both Survivors from leaving.
If they stay at the spot for an unnecessary amount of time afterwards to ensure they down both those Survivors, say an hour or 30 minutes, than it's considered Holding the Game Hostage, which is also a bannable offence.
Is it exploiting though? I can't say for sure, it's personal speculation if it is or not, that doesn't mean it's a fact that it is an exploit. For the sake of argument, i'll say it isn't, but if they stay there for a long time than it's considered holding the game hostage.
But at the base of this question, yes it's camping.

Problem is, Ruin was the band-aid for the core issue, but instead of addressing the issue and then removing the band-aid, they instead let the wound fester and then removed the band-aid.
They seem fond of that in fact. Just tossing Band-Aids on every issue via perks and instead of addressing the core issues, they just let it fester then remove the band-aid later. Sometimes.
Yes, this was already said above...
The point I was trying to make though is that other options exist that're equal or better in some regards. The gen rushing issue really depends on the Killers skill alone and just how the game is structured to go through generators.
We'll see how they handle this in the coming days of the 3.5.0 release, but I personally feel that everyone is freaking out over nothing, which happens when any meta perk is nerfed.

I have almost 3k hours and every perk on multiple survivors/killers, plus a lot of paid cosmetics. I'm not really down for farming for all that again or being denied content I already paid for.
What're you at in progress anyways?
If your entire roster for Killer, Survivor, or both is P3-50... than I can see why you wouldn't want to start all over on another version lol.
But it's not just that, its also (like you said) about the money you spent on cosmetics and DLC that you'll also have to re-buy. I'll assume you have every DLC, so that's at least 100$+ and the game itself adding even more onto the pile.
Plus cosmetics that you had on the store will have to be re-bought. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 200$ or more... it depends on how many cosmetics you bought though.

I didn't say that he was immeresed I said don't be immeresed. I was giving him a tip. And yes I also realize that he was saying he was new and needed help with camera angles and that looping was his biggest weakness. Why do you think I said practice looping?
Saying "don't play immersed" could mean anything, usually when people say that they're implying that the OP themselves is immersed.
With enough practice though he'll understand how this will all work in due time, you're right in that regard. That's why I left such a massive list above to explain how it's so second-handed to some Survivors that face it all the time.
They don't directly look for the body, they look for signs and tells to where they'll go next, and just common sense to how the loop works.

North American, it's not really a secret since I'm mostly active during the "prime-time" of the forums, i'm only on during late nights when I mess up my sleep schedule. Recently this has been the case, so you might see me more during the late nights (for now until it's fixed).
If I may, why do you ask?

Just ask them on the wall of the forum, don’t need to ask a question (through this means) for it.
A question is a question, but you're right, it would've been better if he just asked me on my wall. But he seems fairly new so, he might not be aware that the option exists.

Play the game more. You'll get used more used to when it comes to when looking behind you and camera angles. It's not that hard to loop you'll be a master or a pro at it if you keep on practicing and doing it. But keep doing it. Don't get immersed buddy.
I don't think being immersed is why he's having issues with this, its more-so the lack of knowledge and in-experience with these loops that's giving him trouble.

It lasts until you stalk kid have you never played Myers? You gotta stalk to get more of a lunge 😂
I'm sure he's very aware of that... it was more in a form of a question to how long the Tier l lunge is, simple curiosity.

Instead of worrying about transferring your progress just play the game. It's not that serious of a game anyways and you should have fun with it more then you should rage in it. If cross platform comes out they might add a "sign in with Microsoft" feature or "sign in with PlayStation" or whatever feature to there game if they were to add it on PC. Idk that's just my opinion
A lot of progress takes hours of gameplay, days, weeks even.
I can see why they'd be concerned about having the ability to transfer their progress over to another version. This will spare them the time and effort of getting all that progress back on ANOTHER version.
But as said above many, many times, BHVR is interested in the idea of Cross-Play BUT there isn't any official news about it right now, and we don't know where they will go in the future.

Thing is, Ruin was most commonly used on lower tier killers as they needed the little bit of extra time because of how the gens can fly, as said killers simply cannot apply pressure as well as they need to, so Ruin was a band-aid.
BHVR decided to remove the band-aid before addressing the wound, and turned ruin into a perk that really mainly benefits the killers that didn't need ruin in the first place.
So, while this may give more perk flexibility, it'll likely hurt KILLER flexibility, as now slower killers like Clown, Trapper, Hag, and so on lost their one tool to slow the gens down a bit.
If the match-making wasn't pairing them with higher ranked Survivors, than they wouldn't have an issue when it comes to gens flying...
As it would pair them with Survivors or Killers that're equally in-experienced, so the issue wouldn't be as bad for the low ranks.
I've also argued before the Corrupt Intervention can be equal or better than Ruin, other Hex's like Devour Hope (surprising I know), and Huntresses Lullaby with 4-5 tokens are as strong or stronger than Ruin in some regards.
Yes, these Hex's require set-up time UNLIKE Ruin which doesn't, but a Hex perk isn't supposed to last more than a minute, it's a gamble, if the gamble pays off that that's good for the Killer... if not, than they try next game to see if it'll work this time.
Corrupt Intervention doesn't have this issue though, so that's why it's considered equal or better than Ruin. You can still have a set-up time with Trapper using Corrupt, or Hag with Corrupt, or even Clown with the proper perks that can lessen the map pressure issue.
But I do agree that the lower-tiered Killers do need a sort of buff to help them out with some of their own personal issues, but one issue at a time...

I was rank 18, yesterday. I'm rank 20 today. I assume that's working as intended and not a glitch, but I could be wrong.
Who knows, perhaps it's intended but not directly said.

It sounds very hard to get it down with the new reset system. I’ve noticed a lot of people saying they aren’t happy with it. Is this why? I’ve noticed a change in the gameplay of the survivors too. It seems like the matches I get into are with people who don’t really play so much as just run around or try and irritate the killer. How are we supposed to stay at the ranks we achieve now?
No, this change is not why people are unhappy with it.
People are unhappy with the current ranking system because of another issue called "rainbow ranks" that's commonly happening to lower ranked Survivors/Killers. The issue stems from the match-making pairing low ranked Survivors like Rank 10s with Rank 1-4 Survivors in Red Ranks, making it an unfair fight since the Green Ranked Killer is not as skilled as that 4 man team of Red Ranked Survivors.
The same applies to Survivors as well, Survivors get paired with Red Rank Killers while they themselves are only in Green Rank or even Yellow. That's what you're hearing when people talk about the "rank system issue."
now, onto the other question (about the rank reset)
Also, the new rank reset mechanic is a lot better than the old one, previously you would be reset back two ranks if you were in Red Ranks (The highest rank), now it's only one. This new reset system is a lot more forgiving, and the rank reset only happens once every new month on the 13th, so it's monthly basically, which is plenty of time to get to the higher tiers (if you want to).

This seems about right, I personally can't find any info that would say anything is after WITHOUT the power being used.
You could argue that "Charging your power is using it", so that's up for debate. But personally, they're not directly vomiting so...
Besides that, this seems to be the fastest you can go without directly using the power on anything or anyone, if I find more information about it than i'll Re-@ you about it.

Rank reset isn't like de-pipping, it can send you all the way back to 20.
Not entirely sure if that's true, it just says you'll be set back to the previous rank (aka rank 17) if you were in Yellow ranks.
It doesn't say you'll go that far back if you're inactive for example.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108852/patch-notes-3-4-0-cursed-legacy#latest
Here's a quote from the patch notes:
"Rank Reset: The Rank Reset will now reset players back one rank crest color. Players who end the season in Red Ranks (1-4) will be reset to Purple Ranks (5), Purple Ranks (5-8) get reset to Green Ranks (9), Green Ranks (9-12) get reset to Yellow Ranks (13) and finally Yellow (13-16) gets reset to the Brown Crest Ranks (17)."
-
The new system bumps you back to the last rank during the reset, so if you were Yellow Rank before the reset, it'll bring you back down to Grey Rank.
Same with Red, if you were Red before, you're now Purple after the reset. If you were Purple before, than you're not Green after the reset.
That's why it brought you back to rank 17, that's in the rank BEFORE 15 (aka, 15 is Yellow Ranks, and 17 is Grey Ranks)
here's the patch notes to help explain it better
Here's a link to the patch notes that added this change, and i'll provide a quote below that as well:

Hope this clears up any confusion!

I'll add a bit more if you're feeling adventurous with this.
You can also try some more idea below:
- Hex: Totems/Dull Totems (This'll take a bit of work to replicate...)
- Third Year Anniversary balloons (Pretty easy to replicate, needs some flare to it though)
- Myers Knife as a display cutting knife (Covered in blood of course)
- Trappers mask on the coat rack, key rack, or a table (Or Legions or Huntresses, you can find them on online stores)
- Lunar Lanterns (Something similar in the look)
- Serum Vials (You can use bio-luminescent gel or something that glows orange in the dark)
- Putting a dummy dressed as Myers in a closet (Ambitious idea of course...)
- Flashlights, and toolboxes sprinkled around in some places
That's about all I can think of I suppose, its too ambitious to make hooks and other such large objects like LITERAL GENERATORS lmao, but this should also help... I think.

Here are the hardware specifications from the official website.
From what Boosted_Dwight has shown, i'm gonna say that's a hard no... unless the phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 (or equivalent), a Iphone SE, or an 6S and above, than no.
You don't have to tell us what the phone is if you already know that it isn't above these specifications, from the sound of it, it isn't i'm afraid.

@FireHazard So when a perk is valid and therefore it gets used a lot, the perk should get nerfed so that players would be forced to use other perks - do we apply the same rule to survivor perks? Because I'm seeing the same perks all the time.
I mean, they did it to DS and there was a big stink about it for weeks. That change was under the same concept I believe, that the perk was unfair to play against and a lot of people used it. (I could be wrong if that was their main reason to the nerf).
This is about the same, except Killers are now claiming the game will die because no Killers will exist after the change, which as a Killer main myself, I find that to be a funny response to the change itself. If this was to open up avenues for builds, than yes that would be their next goal.
I'm not entirely sure on why they changed Ruin, but I personally don't mind the change. If they did so with Survivor perks, than I also wouldn't mind. As for others, that's another story. (I play both sides, so that's why I said "I wouldn't mind", as despite being a Killer main... I do play both sides frequently, I just play Killer MORE)
But I do know this, a perk change doesn't mean the entire Killer population will suddenly die, which was the main point of the post. So, in my personal opinion, players are jumping the gun over it.

This was my first game ever as a killer about 3 and a half months ago.
You're both in Grey Rank, Grey Rank naturally has a high queue time for Killers and Survivors as well, mainly because when this was taken, the rank reset was REALLY late, meaning not many Survivors or Killers were in Grey or even Yellow ranks, so the match making takes longer to find OTHER ranks to play with, since your rank hardly has any players.
This could be because of not many players in those ranks, the region you're in, and the time of day it was during these images.
