So did you guys know that rare items drop more frequently on Level 50 killers? Everybody complaining that "rare" items aren't "rare" doesn't understand the mechanics of the blood web. Have you ever had an Ebony pop up randomly on a Level 10 killer? I haven't. Cypress yes.
Same thing for Survivor add ons. You won't get instaheals at low levels. You'll start getting all the good shot at Level 50.
-
It's tough to call, because it changes based on ranks. Killer at Red rank is greatly disadvantaged unless you're playing meta. Spirit, Nurse, or Billy. Try GF or Trapper at Rank 1 and you'll most likely have a tough time unless you've got thousands of hours poured into those killers.
But at mid to low ranks, killer stomps faces in. I pretty much always get a 4K at lower ranks and it feels effortless.
-
I think it's hilarious any time Jake gets smacked. And I'm not the only one.
Also, anytime Ghostface is playing around and teabagging on the other side of a window or vault.

I don't mind the fact that's its long. What I mind is it has literally ZERO punctuation, so it's just one long ass run on sentence, and is in BOLD and is only separated once down the middle. I'm not sure how anybody is supposed to comprehend this lol
-
To be honest, I think the easiest thing to do would be to add time to the gens by about 15 or 20%. All it would do is make games go slightly longer. You can't really argue that it would be detrimental to newer players. Bad killers will still lose, and good teams will still win. It will just add a bit more time for EVERYBODY.
I hate waiting 10 minutes for a match as a survivor only to be done with all the gens and run out within 5 or 6 minutes. It's dumb. I want the matches to be just a little longer and more intense. I don't see how this would be a bad thing. I have matches where sometimes I don't even see the killer once. Adding some time increases the odds that all players will get into at least one or two chases.

Prestige isn't supposed to give you any benefit. It was the same way for COD Modern Warfare 3. You lost all of your perks and guns and attachments and just got a prestige emblem next to your name.
That's why it's called Prestige. You do it quite literally for the prestige of it. As a bragging right, or a way of showing off you're experienced. That's it. It's not supposed to give you anything else and was never intended for that.

Short version:
As survivor: Try to do everything. A good mix of gens, hook saves, and one or two decent chases will allow you to pip (depending on your rank). Most of the time when you don't pip as a survivor, it's because you were only doing gens, or only saving people, or you never got chased and hid the whole match.
As killer: Honestly just don't play like a dick? If you don't tunnel and camp and you actually hook everyone a couple of times, try to keep gens from popping, and hit people, you'll pip. Most of the time when killers don't pip, it's because they camped and tunneled people, killed people too fast, and on occasion let gens pop too quickly (it's usually the camping/tunneling tho)
Tunneling won't depip you buddy. Maybe camping will, if somebody dies on their first hook, but tunneling has basically no ranking penalty. Now if you tunnel and chase somebody for 10 minutes straight and all the gens get done, and that's the only person you kill, then yes...you played badly. But if you hook a player 3 times, kill them, and simultaneously defend gens in between hooks it really won't effect your pip.

I'm always down for completely new stuff and changes.
But this community is very picky when it comes to that. And unless its some "change" I.E. events for example, within the original game mode.
The vast majority would flip out w/o giving it a second thought or trying to be reasonable. There will always be some supposed problem. Even if it's no perks no addons for everyone. Someones gonna complain.
Which is unfortunate.
True. This community has really chill members but also a lot of toxics boys and girls. Whiny babies.
But I would LOVE to see a vanilla game mode. Basically just old killers and old perks. It would be an entirely different experience and would be a good change of pace from the stale meta perks.

The response to anything that revolves around separate queues/different game modes.
They could do what League of Legends does, and introduce alternate game modes that are available for a couple weeks and then go away, and then another one comes around a couple weeks after that.
They could have a Vanilla game mode, where there's older perks and killers only.
A casual game mode for low ranks or non try-hards
A game mode with randomly selected match modifiers.
And just cycle them weekly or biweekly.

Honestly, a really good Rank 1 killer against a team of really good Rank 1 survivors, the Killer gets bullied. It's really hard to balance the game for all ranks.
Killer is only strong when the survivors don't know the maps, and don't know how to loop as well, and aren't as objective focused. If the survivors are smart, don't hide in lockers, and constantly do gens, you can't do anything as killer. You might get 1K or 2K if you're lucky. So I really don't understand the complaint here. What would you suggest the Devs do? Because if they buff survivors right now, then Killers in red ranks will have absolutely no chance.
Of course a good Killer will smash people in low ranks, but I mean...shouldn't they? I'd be pissed if Killer was so weak I got bullied at Rank 15 LOL

Biggest issue if you SWF with him at the start. It automatically places him against higher ranked killers then he is ready for. Normally you play against or close to a rank above your first few games.
Interesting thing I heard the other day. Whoever is the host of the SWF lobby is the one whose rank gets matchmaking. I played with my Rank 18 friend all day yesterday and kept getting Rank 19 and 20 killers. It also helps if you SWF with multiple low rank friends and you're the only high rank survivor. You'll literally only see baby killers, and just don't be a toxic ######### to the new killers and just try to help your friends learn the game.
-
This is honestly a great idea, especially for new players. And we're about to get a lot of them with Stranger Things.
-
Good idea actually. And it would help new players out, because lots of new players don't understand that they don't necessarily have to escape to do well.
-
Honestly I've had a similar experience recently. Got my friend into the game and when he's chased, he goes down almost instantly. He gets hit once and then doesn't know what to do and ends up still near the killer and just gets smacked again and downed. He's also usually the first person found EVERY game, which I don't even know how that's possible...
To be honest, I think it's part of the game. Everybody has to be a sucky noob at some point, and with each failure you learn.
-
Coal Tower. Iron Works. Both ######### bullshit maps with an infinite in the middle that has zero mind game to it and is even worse when you add Balanced Landing.

Its DBD, not a shooter lol
Nurse and Huntress are significantly better with Mouse and Keyboard. Also, it's way easier to hit survivors that are trying to zig zag or 360 on you. It's also easier to juke as a survivor with Mouse and Keyboard. It doesn't have to be a shooter.

What's a pip?
If you do well at the end of the match and it says +1 or +2. When you first start, you need 4 pips to get from Rank 20 to Rank 19. Once you get to higher ranks, you need 5 pips. You can see your pip progress in the top right corner by hovering over your rank. They look like little shards.
-
I will proxy camp if somebody is like 5 feet away from me when I'm hooking and then suddenly disappears. Like I KNOW you're crouching behind a rock somewhere so I'm not gonna just go "Ok I'm leaving now byyyyyeeee" and let them unhook for free. So I go searching the nearby hiding spots. And considering I play Leatherface, unhooks are very risky for them. even with Borrowed Time.
Moral of the story is, HIDE if you want to go for an early unhook. Don't get in my face and flashlight and bodyblock and then just expect me to run across the map after the hook.

I don't really care about pips I just play for fun:D
Haha same dude. I really don't care about rank, but once I get down to red I always get a little more mentally prepared for sweaty teams or sweaty killers.
But yeah, basically, if you kill everybody quickly you won't pip up. You basically have to hook every survivor at least a couple times, and try to end chases sooner than later. The quicker the chase, the better you score in that category. Getting M1 hits on survivors helps you pip up too. Every time you whack a survivor you get points towards that specific category. You also get points towards rank for interrupting survivors from doing gens, healing, or other activities. It's a lot. Seriously. But basically if you're constantly putting the pressure on survivors, getting M1s, and hooking them at least a couple times, you'll probably pip up. I've had 4K games where I didn't even pip...so it's not even about whether people escape or not, which is weird at first.
As for survivor, you need to get chased a decent amount, do some gens, get an unhook, heal somebody, and do co-op actions. Whether you escape or not doesn't matter. What matters is completing these actions. Boldness, Altruism, Objectives, Survival. Get a little bit in all of these. As a survivor you get more points towards ranking the longer the chase is, and you get points for escaping the killer as well and making them lose track of you.
All of this is basically why I don't care about pipping. I just play to have fun, and in the process end up in Red rank for both killer and survivor. My best advice is, don't play to get a 4K, and don't play to escape. If you try to rush through gens and just run out of the door immediately, you won't get rank or bloodpoints AND it's boring. As a killer, just trying to kill everybody super fast isn't fun either. Only sometimes that is...lol
-
No, but you'd be an ######### for it. Giving yourself an artificial advantage rather than playing on the same level field as everybody else. Bravo sir bravo.
Let me guess "I'm just used to mouse and keyboard." Good for you. Then play on PC.

Maybe not everyone wants to run the meta build. And as someone who kills and survives almost equally, I'd rather not everyone feel like they need to run those perks to have a good game.
You know what dude? I absolutely ######### agree with you. I hate how stale the meta is, and as a killer I hate seeing the same 4 or 5 perks on all survivors. That's why as a survivor myself, I don't run any of those. I have Lithe, Alert, Spine Chill and still survive most matches. I wish we saw more diversity in perk builds.

Brand new part OP LOL
I'm not calling BNPs OP. Just like Ebony Mori's aren't OP. I was showing an equivalency.
Besides, BNPs aren't OP but do you know what is? 3 or 4 Survivors running Engineer's toolboxes with good add ons. How do you counter that as a killer? Getting hooks won't keep all those gens from popping in those circumstances. No amount of pressure will do.
-
@Jago said:

"Don't get tunneled". Yeah. Looks like a nice counter. Thank you, very cool.
Borrowed Time, D-Strike, Dead Hard. Pick one of many second chance perks that survivors get and stop complaining.
Besides what are you even talking about? If you get tunneled WITHOUT a mori you're screwed. If you get tunneled you get tunneled. But I'm sorry, I forgot. You're a survivor main, you're supposed to win every match and never get sacrificed.
-
@Atrushan88 Moris have a counter too. It's called don't get hit twice, hooked, unhooked, then hit twice again. Most survivor matches I play, I don't end up hooked, or I end up hooked once. Yes every now and then I get hooked 2 or 3 times but most times, not. You act like the killer doesn't actually have to chase your ass down and smack you around a bit. It's NOTHING like your comparison which is a ridiculous false equivalency if I've ever seen one.
-

Okay? But ebony moris do kind of break the game, especially against solo survivors.
So do instaheals and brand new parts. You probably don't think so as a survivor, but as a killer, a couple of gens popping super early or somebody from downed state suddenly sprinting around can basically lose the entire match for you.
Not to mention if that same survivor that just got instahealed is also running the typical Dead Hard, DS, Balanced Landing. Borrowed Time build. 3 of those perks are second chances by the way...
-
Oh look survivors complaining about more things.
If you played killer for more than a few matches a day, you'd realize that killers have almost zero control over the match in Purple or Red ranks. Calling for nerfs on numerous perks and numerous killers, numerous items, just shows you got your ass killed and got salty and need to get better. I'm a damn good killer but against a coordinated Red rank team I can get legitimately bullied and there's not much you can do. Here's why...
If survivors are constantly stuck on gens, refusing to heal, refusing to cleanse, refusing to look in chest, and do gens instead, let their team mates hang an extra 30 seconds, and do gens instead, and can loop decently, and pretty much never stop doing gens, you really can't do much, no matter how much people say "just pressure more."
So whenever I see survivors constantly complaining it's just laughable. Survivors have so many second chance perks, and the only one killers have, NOED, is also constantly bitched about.
-
If I play him on Purple or Red ranks, I get bullied hard. More so than any other killer. In his current state I actually think he's the worst killer. Most times you get revealed very easily and then you're essentially just an M1 killer that can teabag. Maybe I have a bad perk set up on him but I refuse to play him anymore until rank reset. I've gotten many 4Ks with him, but now at Rank 1 I just get embarrassed.
-
Impossible skillchecks Doc on The Game is terrible to go against and he'll probably kill you. Doc on a big map, he'll probably lose. He's just not mobile enough to compete against a good team popping gens on different sides of the map. Playing Doctor during rank reset however is extremely fun.

3 people can finish 2 generators in 25 seconds according to your comment.
Ah I see you're a literalist. You must be fun at parties. Tweak the numbers a bit, it's the same #########. By the time you find the first person and chase them for a bit, a generator will always pop and sometimes 2. I'm not sure how that's confusing.
-
I was on hook one time and saw my team mate camping the hatch. She had zero intention of saving me even though it was my first hook. Let me go into struggle and everything. The killer noticed this and started searching the map for the hatch and found her camping it and killed her. It was very satisfying to watch. Worst part is we only had one gen left but she just camped hatch. I was almost tempted to stop struggling and let her have hatch but, the fact that she didn't even attempt a rescue the entire match...
-
If you don't have ruin this is what will happen. You'll run around for a bit, find somebody after about 10 or 20 seconds, and after chasing them for about 15 seconds, the first generator will pop. Sometimes 2 generators. On top of that, too many loops have infinites, where the mind game is completely removed and you're forced to run the loop three times until the entity blocks the window, with the only counter being Bamboozle. Regular loops and jungle gyms are fine, but there's too many infinites. Period. I can still get 4Ks but many red rank survivors know how to abuse the infinites
-
Yes I agree, Leatherface needs more faces. One for each survivor *laughs in Bubba*

Weirdly enough I see more Bubbas and Nurses than anything else.
Not that I don't see plenty of Spirits, Maxes, Freddys, and GFs, but Bubbas and Nurses happen almost every other game.
Haha I wonder if you went against my Bubba
-
I play for bloodpoints and spicy DCs. Rank comes secondary. I'm in purple rank as killer now and hardly sweat for my pips. It's honestly a way more relaxing way of playing the game. I get red rank swf all the time. Seems like as soon as you hit Rank 9 or 8.
-
NOED is fine. It's balanced. It sacrifices a perk slot for literally 30 seconds of glory towards the end and sometimes doesn't even pay off at all. Also, if somebody runs NOED but doesn't run Ruin also, and you gen rush like crazy, you really can't complain. It's a balanced perk and you just need to have it in the back of your mind when the last generator is powered. You should never really be surprised by it and also DO BONES.
-
What do you mean it's no fun? It's a ton of fun to use them on people :P Oh you mean it's not fun for you? Well it's really not supposed to be. Kinda like how Brand New Parts and Instaheals aren't supposed to be fun for the killer even though they have a MAJOR impact. One instaheal under the right circumstance can literally ######### an entire killer's snowball up. To be honest...survivors complain way too much. Survivors have the advantage. I'm a killer main but started playing Survivor for literally around 8 hours today and went from Rank 20 to Rank 9 extremely fast. It was so easy for me to loop and escape, and I don't even have great perks. Probably the best one I have is Level 2 Lithe...
-
Damn dude they even had 3 Adrenalines. Plus there's a Decisive, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, and Deliverance. Super sweaty team. Glad you 4K'ed them :)
-
Yeah that answers it haha. Pretty much makes those add ons useless. It should be applied as a status effect until they heal or something to where it actually EFFECTS the game. Like it's applied to the next generator they work on no matter what.
-
Yes survivors are little babies that want to be coddled even though they have a ton of OP perks and a 4v1 advantage for gens.
Best advice dude, play how you want and who you want. If you get salt, consider it a victory. That means you're effective. Remember your job is to KILL them not play paddycake. Obviously they're gonna be frustrated if they feel helpless
-
I usually get games quick during the evening and slow in the morning. I live on the West coast.
Easy solution, put on an Ohmwrecker or Monto video and soon enough you'll actually be angry the game interrupted your video lol
-
Sounds both broken and hilarious. Making a killer perk the encourages farming off hooks? Haha toxic and guaranteed to get easy kills/DCs
-
Tier list isn't the same. A lot of people on here are talking #########. Nurse and Huntress usually suck on console. Not just from a lack of Mouse + Keyboard but mainly because of FRAME RATES. And if these people ever played on console they would know that. Even if you are mechanically perfect, you will still be robbed of a solid hit because the frames dropped to 5 per second. Especially on maps like Red Forest.
Also, it's easier for survivors to abuse the 360 dodge on console because of the lack of a mouse. You can't quickly reaim your swing as easily as on PC. You can definitely still hit somebody attempting that strategy but it's much much harder. I would say Spirit is still good but Hag definitely suffers from the drop in frames as well, making a quick teleport and free hit a lot more difficult.
I won't create a tier list for you, but just take that information for what it is. Nurse definitely isn't the queen on consoles. Billy is still good though.
-
Exactly. I play on PS4 but in a manner of speaking, I basically use Leatherface as an M1 killer and the chainsaw situationally. I've gotten a lot of good downs with his Chainsaw when catching survivors out in the open or a double down when they're unhooking. So his chainsaw isn't useless it's just contextual.
So yeah, I run gen patrols and try my best to always run a 3 gen strategy towards the end. God help them if there's only 2 gens left and they're right next to each other because there's really nothing they can do with Unnerving on. They almost always miss the skill check, then I run over and kick the gen. I've had gens nearly fully repaired just regress down to 0% progress. They can't do the two man commit either, where you whack one and the other stays on it because then you just chainsaw them both down.
Honestly I think LF is good, you just have to adapt your style to him completely. You can't play him like Billy.
