I'm sure it'll turn out as busted and unfair as original mettle of man, it's easy to outrun the short broken timer
-
It's because most killers are weak and most of the better one got nerfed to hell, reducing the playable killers further

Breaking the chain no longer injures the survivor, only applies deep wound.
Sounds pretty crap

Dafuq when did they ever do that? xD Ghostface got fixed in 1 week after PTB launch, Demogorgon got even a ultra rare as basekit... Oni got QoL changes that are all healthy and nice. Since I am oni main I hear alot of complains about how busted he is but still they didnt do anything to him yet.
Lol most killers get nerfed after release, I've played since leatherface

They don't usually inform us of upcoming changes coming out of a PTB until they release the Patch Notes. Point being, there's no reason to believe he won't be changed just because we haven't been told that he will be, so it's still very much a possibility.
Imma mark these words for when I'm proven right this week

If they didn't revert the Sabo changes, then I might make a thread on how long this game is gonna last.
I give it about 2-3 months before it can no longer hold up because of all the players that refuse to play killer anymore. period.
I might be quitting after Doom hits, I was an uberfan but the devs have rammed killer so badly into the ground I kinda hate the game at this point
-
@TheHourMan said:
I think it will be fine. The devs have gotten pretty good at making adjustments to PTB. The only real exception is Legion T-T
Lol good one

Devs gotta sell cosmetics to pay the electricity bill. Cmon
That's really all they care about I guess, true
-
🤣😂 are you kidding me? do you actually play this game, the second part of that analysis is so silly I don't know how to begin the refutation. There's always been more survivors than killers, we don't need to buff the bajesus out of survivors so killers quit en masse, then make all the challenges for survivors to further reduce the number of killer players; it's obvious lunacy
-
Hope they see this bro
-
Or he'll get a mild QoL buff with Plague, Doc and Trapper but we'll still have the unbelievably obscene gigabuffs to survior mechanics so it won't matter
-
Wait a week, betting it goes live exactly as it was in the PTB and he'll still get nerfed for some nonsensical reason in the first few days. Or at very least wait for patch notes or streamers to get thsir hands on him
-
Pick nurse and afk the match. You can do it all day for rift xp

@AvisDeene said:
I wonder how bad it will be when the new sabo changes arrive.
Double your current survivor que times, that's how.
-
The 80 to 20 survivor to killer challenge ratio definitely makes it worse but evey buffoon insists that's fine and awesome instead of contributing to the horrible survivor ques. This game used to be my life but every decision they've made in the last few months is tanking it badly, I'll probably forget it exists when Doom comes out. Might get the dlc if they do something drastic but as of now it's all bad, especially the archive challenges, I haven't wanted to play for like 2 months because they're so incredibly survivor skewed
-
That comment is insane, and totally ignores reality. The game is imploding from a lack of killers and have waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more people playing survivor for the challenges on top of how little incentive there is to play killer now is making it worse. There are 30 minute ques for survivor and 10 second ques for killer, maybe having a similar number of challenges could incentivize playing killer? It's easy to understand why the mismatch is a terrible idea (especially now)

I'm not disagreeing with you, but the Ruin nerf was part of a bigger problem, the Gen speed.
Any killer can be strong, and buffed yes, but against a decent team, 2 good loopers and 2 stealthies that only do gens and it's a GG.
Again, not disagreeing, I'm just saying.
You're wasting time trying to be reasonable, there are a few posters that omegasimp to defend the devs everytime the devs say something ridiculous
-
@Peanits said:
First and foremost, no, we don't hate killers.
Second, this was something we were very transparent about back during the first Tome. Originally we had an even distribution of survivor and killer challenges, but this caused a lot more people to play killer than normal. When that happened, killer queue times went way up, making it difficult for people to do their challenges. Now there's slightly more survivor challenges than killer challenges as to not mess with matchmaking too much.
1) prove it, you've failed miserably to do so at every opportunity
2) the game is in utter crisis from a lack of active killers and the challenge count imbalance likely plays a very large role in that. It was much better when the number was balanced out, This rift is a severe downgrade from the last one and is so bad I don't know anyone who bought the pass this time. At least make it closer and not wildly unfair on the counts, 15 to 7? Come on, and you really expect people to think you don't hate killers?
-
Nurse and ruin became unplayably bad, BL is still great and it's "nerf" was a literal bug that enabled infinite loops. The instaheal "nerf" arguably made the items better and doubled all the medkit healing speeds as a tradeoff, one heck of a buff if you want to be honest
-
For survivors, yes without question.
For killers, probably not.

The problem with DBD is that the community divided itself. Survivor mains and killer mains are the root of the issue. Both groups have no empathy for each other and have become entitled because of it. The rift challenges were a good attempt to force people to play both sides more, but I am beginning to think it didn't work.
It didn't work because 80% of the challenges are for survivors and killers were forced to sit out, they totally ignored all feedback from the first rift and made this one substantially worse, it's honestly impressive
-
The gen times are the entire reason killers play like that; double the base repair time and the game is fixed on the spot
-
Rotten Fields is the only map with fewer than like 15 pallets, there's way too many on most older maps
-
Remember that update where they showed the pallet spawns on one of the swamp maps before and after their pallet spawn update and the spawned pallet count went from 36 to 32? Then they went "see killers there aren't too many pallets anymore!" and survivors complained anyway over that marginal reduction?

Killer main? lol
Survivormain entitlement demonstrated, gamerpoints scored
-
They'll report you anyways if they don't escape
-
Moris, specifically Leatherface's.
-
And they couldn't care less about new killer players, they attack them brutally at every turn with nerfs and bad matchmaking

No what he does in that video is try to express it's any reason but because Killers don't want to play anymore. I'm not saying he's wrong. I just don't see it past him to not agree to the dev's every word and change because he knows it gets him views.
I know in the past there was problems, and I know that can be said by both sides, but that's not a good defense of why things are so terrible now.
All of these buffs to survivors back to back, and consistent nerfs to killers back to back pushed people away. That and the terrible matchmaking/ranking system created long que times for survivors, and it's only going to get worse from here if you have tested the in's and outs of the updates in the Chains of Hate update
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1133895#Comment_1133895
It was and it did.
A lot of killers did quit, the killer nerfs were too crazy. Ruin was removed from the game, the new version is unplayable, and that changed how survivors played even if the killer does use it. There's no reason to play cautiously anymore, just do gens and you cannot lose
-

Finding a match lately is almost impossible, it literally takes me more than 20 minutes to find a lobby as survivor, even if it does it’s always the same people over and over. In one match I went against a trapper who camped and tunneled me so you can say that game lasted 5-7 minutes, the next game (took 30 minutes to find) I found a lobby with the same people from before and when the game started, surprise surprise, it was a trapper and yup you guessed it, it was the same trapper and yes he did camp me and I did not get saved once (I guess my teammates knew it was the same guy from before so they didn’t even bother). I was pissed that it took that LONG just to put me with the same crappy teammates and just to get face camped by the same guy.
Why is this happening? Is there a problem with the servers? A few nights ago everything was completely fine, usually the longest queue time would take 5 minutes at most, why is it longer now? Why does it keep putting me with same people? Is this happening to anyone else? Anyways, sorry for ranting on and on I’m just annoyed by this.
Survivors did it when they begged for nerfs to ruin, nurse, spirit, freddy, oni, etc. Lots of killers quit or stopped caring about playing fairly
-
They usually ignore ptb feedback if it doesn't help survivor, expect a deathslinger day 1 nerf for some "problem" that makes no sense
-
The last several killer nerfs went too far and ruin was the breaking point. I love the game but barely feel like playing anymore since killer is so weak. Most red rank killers quit the game or try to stay in lower ranks so they can play fair matches instead of getting instantly owned by red swf. Unless they buff the heck out of killers soon this game may not last another 6 months. They don't seem to really care though
-
@DrownedFish said:
Idk about grind but there are like 5 killer challenge and 20 survivor ones. Why not make challanges like do 5 gens or kill 5 survivor so we can play and enjoy the game as we like...
I asked them why the discrepancy and the devs seriously said they wanted to encourage playing more survivor and have fewer killers on at once
-
@PodgeNotRodge said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/133297/does-the-tome-feel-more-grindy-this-time
It's the idea of money scheme behind it. Charge you for a new rift pass every time a new one comes out. The challenges also require to buy a character you may not have which leaves you at a disadvantage. For example, I dont have Jane so her challenges using perks on her are useless to me. Which means I'm missing out on potential rift progress.
Some are grindy without a doubt, others like the challenge encouraging NOED is just scummy but it's more to get you to buy every character as they want you to play with 'all characters, not just ones you want to'.
Main reason why I just dont care for it. Blood points and that's it. Heck even the archive reader talks like he isnt aware of full stops and commas xD
Don't forget the grind is slow enough to strongly encourage buying tiers as well
-
There are way too many survivor challenges in each level instead of there being an even mix, especially since the survivor ques are longer now
-
More the suspense and feeling of danger; Alien Isolation is brutal on the senses with minimal gore
-
There are many zones of absolute safety, enough's enough.
-
I think the bigger question is whether there's going to be another chapter at all, the game's future looks darker than ever
-
Literally everywhere when you play on xbox past rank 8
-

It takes only 2 seconds to break a hook, the buff is insanely unfair to killers and will definitely encourage slugging

Too weak, prob not at this point without serious upgrades after ptb

We are not playing the same game bro. You are obviously a way better killer than me. I'm on ps4 rank 8. My games are lasting 5-6 minutes. I dont even get 12 hits on the entire squad sometimes.
That's normal swf gameplay unfortunately. Franklin's evens the odds against the bs items they bring but you have to be super aggressive and luck out on finding them early. Sloppy butcher and Save the best for last can make hits nastier with Franklin's. Often they'll get hit, drop the item and try to double back for it in the same chase while you're on hit cooldown, save the best cuts down on the stun time and helps surprise them. Plus it helps hurt bodyblockers or flashlight creeps
-
It does seem like they badly cheaped out on servers, and picked bad locations for them too
-
@Nickeleye said:

How often on average do you get a hit on one item though? I tried to run it to avoid dodging lobbies. I just found I get 1 maybe 2 hits a game. 10% just is enough to justify running it over other perks for me. I wish they would bump the numbers just a little.
I get a dozen or so hits at least, even if they escape a chase losing the item did some damage, especially if they were counting on that medkit or flashlight. If it was 15 or 20 it'd be pretty menacing, or if it showed item auras like plunderers instincts
-
Everyone says they're pretty bad, I think you're justified. Not looking forward to getting back on myself later
-
@Dehitay said:
It takes a considerable amount of bias to look at the update notes and actually think it's survivor sided. You seem to completely be ignoring anything other than what favors survivors.
Breakable walls will definitely be killer sided since if it's an advantage, they can break them whenever; and if it's not an advantage, they don't have to be broken at all.
Item retention was always ridiculously easy on escape. If you think this will increase item retention by any significant margin, you have no clue what survivors have been doing all this time. However, the garunteed addon loss on the other hand will be where the true difference comes from and that is huge unless survivors start running Ace in the Hole to counter it.
Sabotaging will now require a deal more of a head start than previously. If a survivor is downed too close to a hook, it's impossible to do anything about it with this change. And the faster hook spawns are definitely in the killer's favor.
Toolbox changes were clearly a nerf. If you bothered reading the details, that much was definitely made clear. You're just desperate to see everything as a survivor buff if you're honestly questioning this.
And all 3 killers that got changes were definitely buffed. This is one of the most killer sided patches in a long while.
Great job ignoring all the reasoning OP used to explain the problems, "nuh-uh" is an invalid argument

Most people see the title and that's it. Your first sentence literally states "Hear me out" but most people just read the title and assume you want all killers nerfed to the ground.
To be fair that's how all real nerf-begging posts start out, and the devs are the kind of people who'd read this and go "yeah 110% Hillbilly sure" as their only takeaway
-
@terumisan said:
Dunno why people think Franklin's is good to begin with if the survivor remembers where they got hit they can easily pick it back up with minimal to no damage
They have to go get it, and they can totally lose keys in the environment rather easily
-
It's one of the last good perks that everyone underrates. They damage it does to their items does stack up pretty fast, especially since they always go back for it after healing. Trust me it makes a huge impact
