Does "chumpfuckery" get censored?
-
Nah I got the point
-
You first
-
This is a troll thread

Oni plays like trash on console, outclassed by hillbilly in every way and oni can't even steer. His 10 second cooldown on everything make him pretty lame, easily my most hated killer to play next new nurse
-
The cowboy thing in horror is a subgenre I'm unfair with so I'm excited for that. Otherwise his stats are quite poor, I hope he doesn't turn out as lame as Oni, a sheer downgrade of another killer.

Oni? Awful? He is the killer with the best snowball potential in the game! And Demo is IMO the most fun killer to play and verse.
Fun to verse due to clunky weaknesses. I don't think I've actually lost to a demogorgon

Tunneling got nerfed when DS was reworked, same with the Styptic Agent, as these 2 can help counter tunneling, same with BT
Camping got nerfed multiple times
Survivors can be unhooked at any angle
survivors got I frames when being unhooked
When getting off hook by yourself, you regain control of your character faster
Kindred’s existence
Also DS
Don't forget the gigabuff to sabotage in this update that erases all the stuff they tried doing for killer
-
@Nickeleye said:
Let's see how it plays out before we rush to judgment.
They dont have time to rework all the maps. They cant keep bleeding out killers. Seems like this could be a way to fix both issues.
Let's be honest. You shouldn't be able to bully a killer. It makes the game a joke.
Survivors just want bullyable killers, complaints like this are a strategy to get nerfs that's worked extremely well since the nurse got tombstoned
-
The last 3 killers have been underwhelming at best, Oni is awful and Demogorgon was a big letdown. The new guy at least looks supercool, been watching streams and he's pretty weak
-
Nah you don't lol, the sabotage hyperbuff alone is undoing all the otherwise good things they're trying. The new killer LOOKS spectacular but mechanically pretty underwhelming.
-
@ColgateAdvancedWhite said:
New killer seems strong. 360 no scope incoming
Watching him on streams now, he's like a downgraded huntress. Looks cool but needs lots of adjustments
-
If they go live I'll be pretty happy
-
It's worthless, we've all been over this ad infinitum
-
Why NOT report it is a better question
-
Then you try watching streamers or looking at forums and it's mostly survivor players throwing abuse at killers and begging for nerfs while telling killers their concerns are invalid. I kinda wish I'd never looked at the forums, it's sucked so much fun out of this
-
Careful, point it out enough and you'll get a ban
-
This is an "ideas for more nerfs" trap, especially since Peanits jumped in right away
-
Nope, going to tell anyone that'll listen to avoid the game
-
Why do we hate fun so much

You know it's bad when F13th is better than Nurse lmao.
It has better balance than DbD and gets actual bugfix patches frequently
-
Witcher 3, F13th, Sinking City, read Fangoria
-
Lol instablinds sitll happen from behind all the time
-
The emblems are probably as good as it'll get, they just need a logic-based and robust overhaul

I'll start by saying I don't necessarily think this will improve or impair the actual quality of matches, so its not a change I'm particularly worried about unless it kills queue times.
That being said, its extremely easy to see why an MMR system cannot ever work for this game: There are too many variables. It is impossible to design a system that accounts for all of the variables that go into the outcome of a match. People have thought of solutions for years and there still are none. You just simply cannot do it.
Here's what I mean, with a line from the update:
"Going forward, we will use a hidden skill rating for matchmaking purposes. Your skill rating will increase when you do well and decrease when you do poorly."
Already this is now flawed. You cannot determine what "doing well" and "doing poorly" in this game is, so the system is based on a premise that is impossible to define to begin with. What killer are you? What addons did you bring? What map did you get? What perks do you have? What perks do the survivors have? Is this map bad for this killer? Did someone kobe? Did you get bad map RNG?
There are an infinite number of variables that result in the outcome of each match, and you cannot account for all of them, or even most of them. You're not a bad player because you got Blood Lodge with Wraith and everyone can see you at all times. You're not a bad survivor if you spawn in a deadzone with a Billy that comes right at you. With an automated MMR system like this, the game will simply draw the conclusion though, without taking anything into account. How do you even determine who is good at survivor? Is an escape good? If so, hide all game, get the hatch. You're now a God. Is altruism good? What if the killer is facecamping and you literally cannot save in any way. Are you now bad at survivor? What if its tied to how long the match goes? Billy slugs for the 4k in 2 minutes and is now a bad player.
What if I run Iridescent Heads 200 games in a row? Am I now a godly Huntress? Is this Huntress being compared to an addonless Clown with the same system?
The thing is, you CAN tell when a player is good. A person can spectate and KNOW "this killer is good, this survivor is good." A SYSTEM cannot ever do that because its impossible to code for every variable that happens. A good survivor might perfectly know the distance of a lunge and run through a pallet, baiting a swing, saving the pallet and wasting the killers time. A system is not going to be reliably able to record situations like that and assign a skill rating to a play.
You can't even determine how good a survivor is based on how long they last in chases. What if someone uses every single pallet on the map. Just straight up camps them. He makes the killer chase him for 3 full minutes. Now no one else has anything, they all go down instantly. Are those other survivors now worse?
Yeah. Its impossible. It cannot ever be done, and its not because the developers are bad or anything. No one can do it.
Your video on that was pretty good, agreed
-
I sorta doubt it but have hope
-
His power would have to involve hexes or totems somehow, he'd be tough to figure out power wise within lore. He can appear from nowhere, has to go after the marked ones, and is vulnerable if his summoner is hurt. Cullen Bunn wrote a great Pumpkinhead comic series that you could draw power ideas from

I don't mean to be that guy, but if someone is following you around trying to get flashlight saves, they aren't doing gens. I would really hesitate to call that gen rushing.
*ignores that this ensures nobody can be safely chased or hooked and trolling the heck of of killer* which apparently devs like Peanits fully endorse
-
Forreal 🙁

I've always called Hag pumpkinhead, she's a good analog. Love the idea of getting the real thing and that was my first thought when demogorgon opened the door for nonhumans

i don't care about sounds whatsoever but free overcharge on multiple gens without having to traverse them to kick them is not a minor buff, nor is 10s less cooldown a minor buff.
It's like what, 50 seconds? That's quite a lot. Also overcharge blast was 96% joke
-
When Ruin is restored and gen times adjusted properly, till then git gud and don't get caught

as a doc player you should be plenty satisfied with the patch, doc is top tier now, no question, you can literally counter stealth (except lockers, they are a thing, but totally underused vs doc) and every ordinaly pallet loop and even most window loops for free and are still crying for buffs? i'm sorry but i can't take you seriously
They are the most very minor of buffs (and I want that sound)
-
Run in a straight line, she can't get you with the new kit, vs break line of sight and put some thought into your actions against old nurse
-
I'm mostly serious, that's how I play doc.

3 seconds per Blink, you can say that it is 3,5 seconds Cooldown for two blinks, because 2,5 seconds are Fatique anyway. So when you wait for one blink, you only wait 0,5 seconds after Fatique.
@Topic:
The Cooldown makes sense to actually give a chance ot get distance. This was the problem with old Nurse, you can simply just blink again, which left not much Counterplay.
There was plenty of counterplay, survivors are just lazy
-
I'd say doc doesn't quite need PWYF or Nemesis but it's decent. I personally like complimenting doc skills with Unnerving Presence. STBFL is pretty good on most so I think you'll get good milage out of that build
-
See my static blast post, I've started coming around
-
If we wanted to be really hardcore then instead of those silly "backwards skillchecks" have the queen addon make the blast apply Overcharge to all gens in range
-

no need for whispers, run discordance or simply use your brain and only use the blast when you see someone or hear a gen. the blast is frankly ridiculous anyways, due to there being almost no counterplay except lockers it is so annoying to play against that it promotes gen rushing opposed to going for the save.
This makes no sense to me but whatever. I've been using BBQ, Brutal Strength, Overcharge and Unnerving Presence. Doc is probably the only killer Unnerving is good on and I hate how so many killers play the same, so I'll try riskier builds. Plus good survivors know about discordance and figure out you've got it real fast

@FrenziedRoach said:
When paired with Distressing this would be overpowering. I do not support this change.
I'm gonna tell you, a fellow killer, the same thing I tell survivors - let the change settle in first before you start suggesting changes.
I doubt it'd be overpowering, I'd go with 'Threatening'. Distressing kinda takes up space you need for other stuff now so there'd be more risk with using distressing.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
1% gen regression would be nice just so it never feels wasted. Cooldown is pretty low as is.
I was thinking like 2-4 but that's probably fine
-
@oke said:
It already takes absolutely 0 skill to use Static Blast and paired with Distressing it reveals the position of every survivor that's not shown by BBQ (unless they use lockers).
If the first blast misses you're screwed, plus running whispers fills a spot that you need for something stronger
-
@WolfPad06 said:
Like people are saying, she still has the potential to be the best killer in the game, and those who mastered her before can do just as well with her now probably.
I, personally, just think she's not very fun to play as anymore. Her add-ons have pretty massive downsides, or are just memes/useless for doing well, and the double cooldown mechanic just makes her feel sluggish and unrewarding (even if, with add-ons, the effect isn't too big).
Most of all, the last time I tried nurse on Dedicated Servers I had such an awful time with the rubber banding and the wonky blinks I haven't touched her again after that.
Summarizes my technical opinions on Nurse, agreed
-
With the huge cooldown and stun you can't use blinks to travel around the map anymore and are forced to rely on her slower than survivor walk speed to get around
-
@Tro said:
Have you even played the new doctor? As a doctor main rank 1 four months in a row I can guarantee that it was an improvement overall, and that his kill rate will most certainly go up from before the rework. Oh, and by the way I was against the rework, but they definitely made improvements on him.
Rank 1 doctor main for 2 years so...The madness nerf still hurts a lot, he is a bit better than I initially thought if you can hit with every static blast you get
-
The people saying otherwise are mosrltly survivor players happy they don't have to play carefully against a strong killer anymore, that's the truth of it. Just look at the panicked damage control replies to my first comment.
