Agree with Legion, but only because of it's lore. Kid with knife, supposed to be as menacing as other demons, monsters and mutants? RE survivors scared of some kid with knife. It is so laughable.
Next on the list: trickster.

This isn't an issue with killers, it's an issue with people. People are just mean to each other for no reason most of the time, especially in games since there's no consequences for being mean.
Second that. It's not "side" problem, it's the player's. Some players received the means to harass people with no repercussions. Some try to raise reassurance and petty ego, some just miserable or rotten "by default". It's just all people remember mostly toxic ones (because they stand out), but in general there are much more good players. And there are lots of trash among survivors too (they just diluted among other players mostly).
-
No matter how childish this post is, I understand the feeling. Playing survivor is frustrating and miserable as f. I remember 2-3 fun matches out of hundreds at best.
Maybe to play survivor you have to have some loser mentality or something, otherwise it is literally painful.
-
At least Sadako was cool visually and aesthetically.
-
Hade Badham just because it's ugly
-
It should be multiple choice, because Trapper, Wraith and Mercant mories are boring af.

Horror isn't just large men with deformities wielding a machete.
You're absolutely right, it's not. But it is something dangerous and menacing. Sadako, for example, is one of the most menacing (despite all devs attempts to make her harmless), and she is not large or man.
Merchant is just a girl with a knife. "Very menacing" to Chris, or Leon, or Jill, or Ada. If devs made her cyborg, she would be, also she would be much more fun aesthetically.

The only thing you are right about is that "tunneling is easy". Therefore tunneling will be even if we place survivors and killer in a 50x50 map with no objects and generators. Why? Because it's easy. Kids always will go on path of least effort.
The only way to get rid of tunneling is to remove possibility of tunneling. No carrots will work, only sticks.

She doesn't need to look like a freak to be killer.
She is human sadist, with normal looks.
She does need. Otherwise anyone would just punch her in a face. And when survivors do not, it ruins atmosphere and shows artificial game condition. In a roster with demons, mutants, spirits and monsters, yes, she does need to be something menacing. Otherwise it's laughable (like Legion)
-
If she become survivor, she'll definetely become my main, hands down. My visual complaints to her that she is NOT a killer. She is just a human with claws. Although it could be menacing for Claudette and Dwight, I don't want to think in which body part her claws end up when she meet any RE survivors.
I at least hope they just redraw her into some T-X/Aelita cyborgs/cyberpunk robo-girls, it would be awesome. At the very least just make her claw on hand actually her hand and replace tinfoil mask with actual robotic face (half face human, half robot, similar to Robocop or cyborgs in Aelita).
Devs are very sensitive and offensive (remembering my conversation about tweaking Artist lore) so it is unlikely to happen, sadly....

Struggling as a solo has to be a skill issue. I've been playing solo for years now and there is nothing in-game as far as mechanics that is beyond the ability to overcome.
Oh, true. As I was saying many times before, to play survivor you are required to have skill no less than Airyn, Nyimety and JRM. Very nice. Very healthy game!
I'm almost 2K hours, btw. It's either not enough or you could blame me for being "physically challenged". In the latter scenario it doesn't prohibit me to win almost always as a killer ;-)
-
After her cheap looks I couldn't care less about her power. It feels like they gave this killer on outsource while doing other things.
-
"Hot killer" not a bad thing in my book. Besides, Spirit can be angry (more than usual), let alone Artist, Plague and Huntress.
-
Definetely much more fun than playing survivor. I almost always feel bad for them when I play killer, as I know very well how frustrating it is to play that role.
-
Day? You mean 2023 Year of the Tunneling?
-
Cool idea, but the thing with destroing everything on map is technically hardly real. They more likely to migrate to UE5 (which I very very hope for) than implement something like this.
-
I was thinking about psychological issues. If we take notice of usual topics and complaints that involves emotions, they are:
- US vs Them
- ***-sided
- griefing: t-bags/hookslaps
- tunnel/camp
We can exclude last one, because it's simply cheap, unfun and spoil the game experience. What about other three? I think people are anxious of losing to not receive taunts. "If I lose, they will t-bag be and write 'ez'". I see pretty often (almost every second day) some stacked up Blight with alchemist-compound- eruption-brine-overcharge that completely destroys solos and heavily abuse them, slapping on hook, slugging, nodding, bleeding out. Like he is not playing a game, but on full revenge mode. Like these four survivors pissed in his lunch and stole his hamster. Why? It's a game, as your wife fairly noticed. So I think it is mostly of low self-esteem: avoid to be emotionally tilted, and that is only by winning no matter the cost.
Personally I have no urge to win, I let last one or two survivors go VERY often, and also can give free kill to new killer. I'm more after current book challenge or achievement, especially love tricky ones (that need to do something crazy in one match).
But when I encounter some questionable-maturity individual, that camp/tunnel/grief, I easily say this in EGC. "You get what you've paid for" - the quote that carried me through my whole life.
-
It was once or twice in my experience (I don't take the cases when only two survivors present and one killing himself to give the last one chance to find hatch, I do it myself usually). Maybe it one don't play like trash, people won't suicide on first hook.
-
What the fuzz with the deadhard? It was nerfed as I recalled.Cannot remember more then couple times when I inconveniently ate a DH and it was NOT on me and MY misplay.
-
I was thinking about just removing "incapacitated" part, but as a killer, cannot complain with aura buffs at all. Perk was unhealthy mostly because it made huge gap between Solo and SWF. Now I finally could start to use it without feeling like being sweaty scumbag.
-
Lol, everytime? I escaped couple of times in january although I play almost every day. Very funny xD
-
I understand you completely, it's hard for me to play Spirit as well as against her. What I mostly do is trying to predict where she is heading and moving into least expected position. That's the only counter, i think. In short, THINK what SHE WOULD THINK YOU WOULD DO and do the OPPOSITE.
-
The only thing I can complain about today's Knight is inability to spawn friends in tight spot or in front of the wall/pallet/object. That is increadibly annoying and often cost momentum where you walking backwards like idiot trying to find a "sweet spot". Besides that, knight is very nice.
-
Bubba hands down
-
It's very rare to dodge, but it's when trashtalk in chat begins or one of survivors has some provokative nickname (like blatantly racist or straight insulting)
-
Camping and tunneling idiots are the least favorite. Today there was 5 out of 6 games. Every other killer is very nice and welcome (from nurse to trapper)
-
I think because when killer tunnel, he probably unskilled, desperate and doesn't play smart, more of autopilot. No need to make it easier to him to tunnel.
Skilled killer know where everyone is, what they doing, he definetely knows how many hook stages each survivor has. That killer may do some tunneling in strategic way, not because of desperation or at 5 gen start.
-
Ideal is to at least play a little. Survive to 1-2 gens left. Not getting camped on hook or tunneled and 5 gens (or sitting with m1 while teammate camped or tunneled)
-
Not camping and tunneling one, and not one that tries to raise his petty self esteem. Everyone else more than welcom (from Nurse to Trapper). I have no problem to lose to skilled killer, not petty cheesy one.
-
I think they just need to add FOV slider and thats it. I don't know what so good in Shadowborn, completely useless perk.
I use same FOV, same mouse sensitivity in EVERY FPS game (First Person game more accurately). Luckily, default DbD FOV is exactly 90, but I understand pain of people which uses different FOV.
So I vote for FOV slider for everybody else, and for ultrawide monitor support for me, because these black bars on sides are trash, but when you enable it, FOV breaks.

Queues are typically 10 seconds - 3 minutes depending on who has the match making incentives.
If tunneling is such a huge issue, learn the tiles and don’t die immediately.
I didn’t want to say the last part, but it needed to be said.
My favorite "Git gud" statement. Works in both ways. Learn to apply pressure and macroplay. See?
Especially when in my personal experience (not that is said by someone bla bla bla) when you die almost always as survivor and win almost always as a killer, something is not quite right.
Again, if skill-floor for survivor is to be at least Ayrun/Naymetti/JRM level, then I want to hear it officially.

That’s false lol. D3ad plays tunnels all the time if he needs pressure / somebody out of the game, and he’s one of the best killers on the game.
There is literally nothing wrong with tunneling. It’s completely valid and EXTREMELY effective when you need it to be.
That's very entitled point of view, valid only if DbD-world spins ESPECIALLY around the killers and survivors are just paid entertainers to please killer. Even more effective could be start with only 3 survivors, or disable survivors run, or make them exposed initially. But when it comes to the game, game HAVE TO BE fun. So, if there is some scammy way to play, it have to be gone, no matter how effective it is. Especially that it is tactic only for bad and desperate players.

That is NOT a valid reason for killers not being able to see progress over THEIR objective.
Genrushing is VERY frequent, so why have gen progress shown?
The logic is so effing dumb.
I don't know if it's smart thing to answer someone who defend tunneling, but "genrushing" is a killer skill issue that focus on one survivor, which was pointed many times by pro-players. So the word "dumb" you throw so easily could be very ironical and backfire. But nothing wrong in acknowleding skill issue, I just for saying it straight, not by complaining.
-
@Vagab0ndCat said:
Let me remind you that killers STILL cant see how many hooks each survivor is at.
True. Tunneling is not frequent enough, only in 80% cases, we should fix that ASAP!
-
Here we need to put a pin, IS DbD COMPETITVE game, or is it suitable for casual players. Because if BHVR try to sit on both chairs, it won't work.
- Pro-streamers almost never tunnel. I can say because I watch them frequently.
- Majority of players don't care about competitiveness, they play game to have fun. When you are destroyed in 2-3 minutes from the start, it is not healthy. That's from my experience too, but besides that, tunneling issue (let alone camping) is being brought up every now and then.
I just added some ideas. Because if something make the game less fun, it has to go. Otherwise we could just down survivors number to 3 and remove all objects on the map for killer pleasure.
This is coming from killer main btw (truth to say "killer enjoyer" because I like playing killer, but have to play survivor too for all undone achievements are only there, sadly)

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/363052/another-idea-about-tunneling
it's a very bad idea to take strong toys only from 1 side, the killer loses his strongest tactic
what about the survivors? what do they lose?
If you read what I suggested, you'll find all the answers.
"Tactic" is not strong, completely not working on strong teams and strong survivors, also bad for game "health". Killer lose nothing, only gaining, because killer now has stimuli to play skillfuly and apply pressure.
-
The answer is simple: if one side most of the time loosing and other side most of the time winning, it is logical to give more powerful tools to losing side. Yet still survivor side losing most of the time.

I booted up the game to check it out and you're absolutely right. No new tome tho the splash screen announces one.
I withdraw my question. It will be only tomorrow >>
Archives
- Tome 14 - BETRAYAL Level 1 opens January 25, 11am ET.
-
Birkin is super awesome!
Ada still looks like kinda 12yo Ada. They need to change her face and body asap.
-
When I saw Birkin, I nearly **** myself (in a good way). It is super awesome!!!
Btw, what with the new book or challenges or whatever? Don't see any changes except new patch and store cosmetics....
-
Normal, not zealous, evening-couple-hours gamplay: 2 weeks as a killer
Fervent, tryharding, sweaty hell: 6 months as survivor.
-
I don't know if what you asking are rhetorical questions, or you just ranting?
- many weak and pathetic players' sole purpose is to make you suffer, just for raising their self-esteem (in their understanding)
- you can put anything in your bio, but a) hardly anyone read it, and b) if pathetic player read it, he will focus on you to ruin your day with twice effort.
- "Outbreak breakout" is the most trash achievement and I hope author don't sleep well at night.
-
QoL changes:
- Perk list with names, not just pictures
- Searchbox for perks/addons
- more profiles (now only 3)
Visual changes:
- injuries on survivors
- fix Knight animation (he is running like spaceman on moon, or deep diver)
General, most requested changes:
- address camping and tunneling!
-
Main thing that frustrate me: myself, the stupid things I make sometimes and that I cannot handle quarter of killers, which people render strong and powerful.
Second thing: when someone have some personal issues and dc / kill himself. Then I finish whatever challenge I have and let all go.
Other than that, not much frustration in playing killer. But playing survivor, oh boy.... I can roll out VERY long list.
-
Springwood is very ugly.

Yeah, i can read. Im aware of the difference. I asked a question. Thats taking the game hostage. But yeah, please do kill body blocking. I'll never be slowed on the way to the hook again.
🤦♂️

So its cool when you body block, but not the killer?
You have some evidence that author is cheating? Because only cheaters can bodyblock killer forever.

What you shoud do is start recording and then upload it with report, because a long as I remember, it is reportable.
-
1 out of 10 games in average.
-
I kinda disagree. Pop was OK, but ruin is is random. I remember a lot of matches where everything goes down not because players are bad or map or other thing, but just simply because no one could find Ruin. Also lot of matches where Ruin broke in first minutes and it went down for killer.
Now meta at least have some consistency, also annoying as F.
