I see nothing wrong with Thanatophobia when Dying Light is a perk in the game. Nothing is shittier than loading in, being the Obsession (I don't use any Obsession perks), and then getting tunneled and camped/mori'd.
I'd rather see Thanatophobia made baseline in its current form, or receive a slight buff. Also, the debuff should probably become permanent if the survivor dies.

Were you using the garbage Amanda's Secret addon?
-
It already feels like the fattest killer is faster than all the rest.

SB and vigil (together) was so OP it was hilariously stupid and SB was bad enough on its own. I wonder if they’ll rework (or buff) vigil?they should make vigil allow you to recover from Exhaustion from running! would make the game fair again.
I doubt it. You could still get 2 Sprint Bursts easily on some map variants.
-
They posted stats from a long time ago, and the only 2 killers to fall under a 50% sacrifice were Wraith and Freddy, and that was before a lot of changes that can be construed as buffs for the killer(s). The stats excluded disconnects, Mori kills, and NOED.

I'm fine with the perk it is what he deservedI disagree because Doctor is pure cancer to play against in randoms, or especially as a new player. He should've been changed, not completely shut down by a single perk.
Imagine yourself back at sub-50 hours playing against Distressing/Unnerving/Ruin/Freebie Kills&Chili.

I can’t take anyone serious that complains about the balance of the game literally all the time while dominating the majority of the teams he goes against. All of these "rank 1 killer mains" want an easy a game as possible with four kills spoonfed to them every game.
-
Killers need to be leveled in balance. The outliers make it extremely difficult to balance because several killers outright ignore mechanics critical to a survivor actually bringing time for their team, or cut so much time off compared to others, or have numerous perks built in automatically. Most of the killers don't, or can't, and so balancing is skewed.
Map size can't be adjusted due to mobility issues with Hillbilly and/or Nurse. Pallets can't be adjusted because they're the main escape mechanic, and some maps are pretty barebones these days. Windows are a problem, but they don't affect Nurse.
That's the main issue, imo.
-
I miss stacking Slower Setting addons to watch him struggle to pry open his bear traps over 3-4 seconds using his weenie arms.
-
Everyone plays Doctor for E-Z Farming.
They should've nerfed Madness function instead of giving a perk that basically destroys him.

You can easily body block pallets and windows with your traps. I do it all of the time on Red Forest for the cabin.
I don't think you have any true idea what you're talking about. The camera jerk can ALWAYS work if you don't place it predictably or "body block windows and pallets"
Trust me daddy, I've been playing hag since before Tyde tyme had all you guys calling hag low tier (which no, she never really was)
The two strategies are mutually exclusive, and body blocking doesn't risk them getting the window before your hit if you're relying on the camera pull.
WhineTyme is garbage, though.

I hope they don't nerf her. She's legitimately one of the scariest killers now without feeling totally oppressive.
However, she does make Urban Evasion mandatory, and I think it's fair to take away the jerky camera movement after triggering a trap. Or put the jerky movement on a cd.
Urban is great for her. You dont trigger the trap randomly. You keep it for chases. And the camera swing is like leatherface's 3 chainsaw hits part of the power.
I think it's cheap, unfair, and annoying after the first time. It's useful for the jumpscare atmosphere, but I don't think it's intended to completely disorient a player again and again. It goes against the devs motto of not taking control away from the player.
There's no skill or strategy needed on behalf of the killer with the camera flips. And whether you are completely screwed by the camera flip is up to chance as the survivor.
Actually the best hag mains and similar activelly use that mechanic by learning the trap placement and all of the survivor's possible routes too. The traps's exact placement is key to it and it takes lots of time to do it perfectly. There are tons of mindgames with it its insane. I have to then disagree with the "no skill or strategy needed on behalf of the killer with the camera flips" sentence. Now hag is 3rd best . Bye bye huntress.

Literally no one runs that perk. Not even during this event.
But you'll see a #########-ton of Agitation 3 (which is normal), Iron Grasp 3, and, Franklin's Demise.
-
I've had no problems getting in to play, but I'm probably not going to bother now. Every game, tunneled and camped. So many Ebony Moris.
The Lunar event was #########, so I'm not surprised that the re-skinned Lunar event that we have now is no less #########.
-
Every single killer I've faced since the event started hard camps with Ultra Rare addons.
I'm switching over to Saboteur, cause if I can't get gens, they won't get hooks.

The immediate Exhaustion recovery wouldn't change much anyway to be honest. Seeing as Exhaustion already recovers like normal when you are on the hook anyway. This would only make those quick saves better.Pretty much what I was thinking. It'll have no real effect on anyone but camping killers, as the exhaustion change already prevents multiple uses of Sprint Burst in a single chase.
It seems like a QoL change more than anything.
-
Survivor auras should reveal after 3~ minutes, and Blood Warden should automatically trigger after 5. That's plenty of time to try and make a last-ditch attempt to rescue a hooked survivor and get out (or fail, get caught, and die yourself).
-
I agree with basically none of your observations, though I think this game is extremely miserable for new players, but for different reasons. For starters, I recommend watching some video guides on survivor and killer. Particularly, Pyrus has great killer guides, and Ussylis has some good survivor guides (some of them have outdated info, though).
You can also watch gameplay of higher end players to get an idea of how they maneuver. I recommend Monto for survivor and killer, and Marth88 for killer (though, he's too good with Nurse, so those matches are one-sided).
The worst parts for newer survivors is dealing with Hex: Ruin (very hard if you're new), and certain killers whose powers require multiple perks for most players to even hold up against. This game resets ranks on the 13th of every month, and this serves no purpose other than to punish newer, or lower skilled players. There's no reward for ranking up (which is balls easy as a killer, and relatively the same as before on survivor), and a mediocre killer will decimate a set of mediocre survivors, especially if they have access to a crucial killer perk like Hex: Ruin. This isn't helped by the fact that high hour "killer mains" tend to deliberately down-rank just to have their matches spoonfed to them.
-
Bamboozle 3 should just disable a window completely until you vault a new one. Or, what if you could disable the last 3 windows you vaulted, indefinitely (until a new one is vaulted, and the oldest one opens up)?
That would make it a godly perk, and you wouldn't even need the increased vaulting speed at that point.
-
Just don't go down in the basement, or you'll tilt the game WAY in her favor due to Make Your Choice. Other than that, she hasn't... really changed much. The teleport range increase might've been a little too much, but she still has all of her previous weaknesses.
Mint Rag is broken as sin and needs a nerf, but the rest of her is fine.
-
Looping is what I do at the end to buy time before I go down. If you can actually use a good pallet to juking, cool, but generally I need more distance than a single, average pallet to lose a killer.
-
Every time Marth88 drives near a hospital, every active Nurse game turns into a 4k.
-
I want to give up DS and NOED, but I actually use NOED on Pig.

This Hex is bar far on of the greatest but it is easily worked around simply by Tapping the button to repair the Gen.
Doing so will by pass any skill check and ignore the effect of Hex ruinA Tool Box by passes it as Well which is intended I guess
But my point is .....Simply tapping the interaction button repeatedly to repair a Gen shouldn't be a thing
I'm a survivor main and see this as a exploit to cheese the killer
Sure it is the killers fault for not patrolling Gens
And not catching survivors fast enough but you have to admit this is cheesingGen tapping is roughly the same speed as just hitting all Goods at 6-7 skill checks on the generator.
In reality, getting better at the game will completely nullify the perk, but gen tapping through generators isn't effective for speed and just circumvents bad players failing skill checks to hit the great and alerting the killer.
It's not an exploit and I just laugh at survivors doing it, instead of searching around to cleanse the totem.
A real issue is that Ruin can cripple multiple-person repairs, but does little to nothing against solo repairs.
-
More balance issues with how Ruin has to be in the killer's build (and its place in balance) than DS or NOED.

@Grimzy i will to know why you say kilers are on top now .R1-R5 killer stats (without DCs, moris and NOED)
The requests for stat generation were as follows:
High Rank (Ranks 1-5) Excludes games that have less than 4 survivors spawn. Only counts sacrifices as kills; meaning it excludes DC's and Mori's from adding to the kill list. Specifically excludes games where NOED is used.

EDIT: He went with the specifics you asked for. Quick note, NOED is used in 14.6% of the games in Ranks 1 to 5.
Killer and % Sacrificed
HillBilly: 60%
EDIT: oh yere thees stats where before, pallet vacuum, 3 seconds pickup timers, and exhaustion timer going down while running
I like how Hillbilly was statistically broken even before killer buffs, and without using a major endgame perk. But lel, "all killers should be brought up to Hillbilly's level".
-
Except for some extremely rare window sequences that synergize each other, this perk seems inherently worthless to most killers.
-
190+ when with normal friends. (We live in different areas, so if someone is over 220 we'll usually dodge.)
435+ with AUS friends leading the lobby searches.
I also dodge when the ping can't stay stable.

He's designed to be a better, easier to play Huntress. He isn't affected by a single one of her negatives, and the only thing she has is double the range.
He moves faster, has full lunge, a smaller warning that he's coming (no lullaby), his power is just as strong at pallets--and actually shuts out LoS jukes--he can reload on the move with a marginal slowdown, his restock is a few seconds that doesn't require him to go anywhere specific and disrupt his perspective, and lastly he can spam nonstop. Juking him is virtually impossible due to no speed penalties, and you scream automatically if you enter a cloud.
Seriously, he's a better Huntress. You can juke hatchets in the open and even in tighter spaces if you're lucky, but you can't juke the MEGACLOUD that comes from his poisons, and the slowdown is insane.

Ultra rare shouldn't mean ultra unbalanced. Many add-ons need downsides to counteract how powerful they are. Most of them are so ludicrously over-the-top with ways to circumvent their weaknesses that any negatives they do have rarely offset the easy-3/4K they give.
-
Yes. Killer requirements are piss easy.
As a survivor, you have to singlehandedly do ~3 generators, save multiple people successfully, and run the killer around forever while still escaping. You can still double pip if you went down, but you need the aforementioned requirements to make up for it.
-
I would play the Clown. He's an easier, better version of her in every way.
-
Lery's isn't bad for any killers anymore.
True misery is getting Coldwind Farm over and over.
-
This would encourage the gen rush meta more.
-
His new "Injure-on-Disarm" addon is overpowered. No counterplay to it. If he gets to key spots, such as his totem first, there's no dealing with it. It completely does away with the need for a late game perk like NOED or Remember Me. I was hoping it would make disarming take forever instead...
All I ever wanted for him was faster trap setting, and traps that blended in better.

Only on PS4 -_-This is PC, too. It's worse when you save someone with crouches, and you're prepared to heal or follow them to eat a hit if Hag comes back, but they just get off the hook and run, f*cking both of you with Make Your Choice + them being injured.
-
I don't trap gens or hooks. I trap pathways to funnel survivors where I want, such as easily countered loops or windows.
Trapping gens is pointless. Most survivors will crouch at gens with a Hag, and almost never run by them during chases, and that's most often where you'll find people while hunting.
Trapping hooks is also pointless--you want to trap paths, so that their only safe running option narrows it down to catch people for Make Your Choice, or just in general. EG: You see an injured survivor running, you know the other survivor is still very close by, etc. And then you have your pick of who to get.
The more your traps are spread, the more they will surprise survivors when they're not always where they expect.
-
The Lunar Event was soooo great, right guys?
Survivors sabotaging Lunar hooks, and killers camping Lunar generators.

Use bamboozleWhat about double window structures like barn? Or the house on Red Forest?
Bamboozle only works on one window at a time.
The worst part about Bamboozle is that... it doesn't last very long. It's, what, 16 seconds at rank 3? That's nothing if map RNG f*cks the killer. I've run killers for 3 gens with mindgames, but I should never effortlessly run a killer for 3 generators because their "inevitable doom" mechanic gets taken away.
-
I don't load into a game with three other survivors and immediately say to myself, "Gee. My life sucks, let's make everyone else feel as ######### as me." Farming your teammates should be a last resort when it's clear you're not getting out alive and want to milk it for points.
If a game is over in the first 60 seconds, I just leave or suicide on the hook.
-
When Hag has Make Your Choice and Mint Rag, so you just sandbag for points because you're not getting out alive.

Neither side should have either of those things. There should be a greater emphasis on isolation.

Deerstalker - It's a pointless and useless version of BBQ & Chili.
Beast of Prey - lol
Stridor - Never worked for me.
Shadowborn - Minuscule bonus for wasting an entire perk slot.
Lightborn - Unnecessary, and outclassed by Franklin's Demise for countering flashlights.
Monstrous Shrine - Tiny bonus, conditional, and it's just a bad camping perk.
Insidious - Only for obvious chainsaw basement camping.
Overwhelming Presence - Pointless; items aren't strong enough to counter by proxy; too limited by TR
Pop Goes The Weasel - Outclassed by Overcharge 3 in every way.
Iron Grasp - Outclassed by Agitation 3 in every way.
Bamboozle - Incredibly niche due to map designs and RNG. Rarely actually useful to anyone but Myers.
Territorial Imperative - More camping garbage; the basement is already pretty fatal to be hooked in.
Hangman's Trick - Sabotage isn't common/powerful enough to justify this. Ever.
Predator - Arguably tied for worst tracking perk.
Spies From The Shadows - Rank 3 isn't even 100% chance. lolwhy This should be a baseline mechanic.
Surveillance - Bad, even for 3-Gen. You don't even get an actual notification if it's worked on again.
Thanatophobia - Too low of an impact. Utterly eclipsed by all other time-wasting perks.I'd also argue Knockout, Third Seal, and Whispers are pretty bad, but they can actually work to great effect in some situations.
-
This is a core part of his mechanics, on top of the huge cleave he does at the end of it.
-
Mist is useless.
-
Decisive Strike isn't even used anywhere near as much as it used to. We'll probably see an Unbreakable meta in the future.
-
There's already only two reliable ways to get WGLF stacks: Unhooks, and hits taken while the killer is carrying someone. Distraction can't even reliably be done, even if you run in to take a hit for someone at the last second. That perk is so finicky because the game almost never wants to award Protection tokens where it should.
-
@MrChubChub said:
to clarify, instead of pressing space and saving yourself, there's a few milliseconds (or frames) where the pallets goes down, making it possible to get hit even if you pressed space. That sounds like... the way it already works now if the survivor doesn't have good reflexes/timing.
-
Hm. I take more issue with specific killers than any specific mechanics right now. The survivor nerfs have worked out quite well, imo.
Exhaustion change sounds nice, but useless to anyone not using Sprint Burst, and mayyyybe Dead Hard. Dead Hard itself is a piece of ######### imo, and I still can't get it to work until I've already eaten the hit. It's so bad, I use Balanced Landing 1 over DH 3.
Pallets reacting faster would be nice. So many free hits this patch without needing to mind-game with the bloodstain at all. I don't think this will affect good killers much, or even make unsafe pallets safer.
I'm more for map balancing over Bloodlust changes, tbh. Window + pallet loops that just break your LoS and remove Bloodlust anyway are bullshit as it is, and some still haven't been fixed. Hell, there's spots killers can't chase survivors, still, and some spots that I still encounter to this day from back when Pig came out.
