  • Well judging by how many people have argued against it and defended it probably means it needs adjusted in someway. Seeing every pallet and route you can run is a massive bonus. Compare this to being swf with comms and certain perks. Obviously one gives more information but windows shows you pallets or loops you may have been blind to. Kind of breaks the map randomness aspect to be honest if you know where all pallets/windows are in all tiles.

  • well for hawkins if you know the map as survivor it's super easy to loop, as killer it really suck if people know how to run it. Too many loops and it's massive. It's in need of a rework bad. Other maps are okay i guess unless they have like 50 pallets

  • I think the games are longer than they used to be since they changed gen speeds a while ago. games would almost always be under 10 mins now they're 12+ usually.

  • I have issues on both ends, it's like the i'm playing with new players as survivor but super sweaty swf squads as killer. It's kind of frustrating because 9/10 games on survivor they're horrible anymore and most of my killer games are a loopfest unless i play a killer who can counter looping hard.

  • My issue is i play killer and get at least 1 p100 survivor and they loop and do gens, I play survivor I get survivors who are all under p10 and they do very little and die. This makes my games playing both sides very unenjoyable for the most part.

  • Do you mean telling you you have the status effect? Friends til the end pops up every time someone is hooked especially if you're the obsession. Noed tells everyone it's active when someone is hit after gens are powered by anything because it also gives a pretty decent speed buff.

Strange as I could say the opposite that and not post a link as well.....

lol i literally did the survey, it was like 9 months ago.

  • From what i understand, the dlc doesn't transfer between platforms.

  • I've seen a few unbreakables with the person not using unbreakable recently.

  • why does he need buffed? you can instadown multiple people, if you run certain add-ons you can literally run people down from far away.

  • Here's the sad truth about the game most of the time. No matter what you do or how you play you will be in the wrong to the other side some way. Just play to have fun yourself and don't worry about the survivors.

  • I think the daily rituals is because it functions off of certain ways like heal others with X or open exit gate with X where as killers have different powers so they're all different challenges like shred with demo or slice and dice with chucky. Bloodwebs have changed a lot but there's a lot of offerings you probably will not use, it's just the way it works with randomness.

  • The problem with COH was you could self-heal the same speed as someone healing you. This is pretty big especially if the totem is placed somewhere away from the current gens or in an annoying spot for the killer to reach kind of takes away a lot of pressure compared to self-care which is super slow and medkits which heal once or twice typically. If it functioned like self-care with a super slow heal speed maybe.

  • I don't think so really. Some of the people that were best in chase didn't use any exhaust perks. Half the time when people use exhaust perks they run into walls or something after getting the boost.

  • It is a very high stress game on killer and as survivor it's not fun to get camped/tunneled or deal with trash randoms as survivor. So I wouldn't say it's very uncommon to get a little cross after dealing with that nonsense for more than a few games, doesn't make it right though to insult/trash talk people.

  • It negates the bonus chance from offerings to get a map unless 4 offerings are burned for the map.

Hatch grabs are still in the game if I remember correctly-

hatch grabs are gone as are grabbing off hook saves.

As I have recently merged my Epic account with that of Steam I was happy to see that all DLCs transitioned but got annoyed that the achievements did not. Well, this gave me the idea to do some experiment and to see how many matches I would need to get the adept survivor achievements unlocked starting with Dwight.

I played 15 matches. I had a pause after 10 for an hour or so then I continued. The rule was not to take any items (with the exception of the event specific firecrackers) to the matches and only use offerings that gave me or the entire team bonus BP. Since I wanted to win I had a mindset to be more stealthy but never to be too greedy as I wanted to save people if it made sense for me to do the saving because either I was the closest survivor or the only one not injured.

I also tried to align my playstyle with the character-specific perkset available. For instance, with Claudette I definitely wanted to be more altruistic or with Dwight getting a companion for faster gen progression in coop even if it meant doing a gen in the killer's TR. I always stayed till the end even if I was the first to get sacrificed as I wanted to see the overall team progress. I did not note down the realms for the matches and below I only mention specific builds if I thought those were interesting. I started at Iridescent Rank IV with 3 pips available.

In 15 matches (strictly in SoloQ) I managed to get the Adept unlocked for the first 5 characters only. At the beginning of the series (and after the 10th) I drank Mozart, a Belgian chocolate cream liqueur (from a shot glass). I do not believe this affected my performance in any way.

    Below are the details:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/U1DXHQDMAMW7/image.png

Some more info on the matches:

1st: Freddy had to tunnel to get his single kill. This he only started doing when he saw 3 gens were done.

2nd: It was a massacre. Blight was fast and efficient. I got the hatch but Blight allowed me to get it.

3rd: Chucky did some proxy-camping but it was fine. The last survivor found the hatch.

4th: The match was on Gideon. Perhaps that is why Legion decided to end his frenzy after 1 or 2 hits. I guess 2 floors do not make the job of this killer easy. Nic Cage as the only survivor managed to open the gate but Legion allowed him to do that.

5th: Feng gave up on the hook. A 2nd survivor approached me while I was on the ground. She knew the Huntress would get her but she allowed it to happen. So, essentially, this was the first match in the series where people started giving up without any DC. Huntress was playing well as she was doing a lot of orbitals (with some nice successes).

6th: Another Blight, another massacre. This was an individual with 4.5K hours (compared to my 2.5K). He did not have a single add-on or perk equipped!

7th: We almost got out with Ripley. Finished the last gen as the 2nd survivor got hooked / sacrificed. SM got us but also asked me to report Ripley for cheating as she did a very fast healing after her first unhook. She did have Resurgence, though, while another survivor Leader equipped so that was the explanation.

8th: The first match in the series where I went down quickly. I stayed to close to the hooked survivor (I wanted to save) and as Huntress was reloading I found out she had UW equipped. The last survivor got out through the gate as Huntress closed the hatch (this was on Nostromo).

9th: No specifics. It was an OK match. Plague was playing well. The last survivor got the hatch. I lost my 3rd and final pip here.

10th: Very efficient Oni player with less than 1,000 hours. I got a pip here yay!

11th: This wouldn't be appropriate without a match with Weskussy. On Glenvale, of course. We were the victims of genrushing. Wes was patrolling 2 gens that were closest to completion. 3 of us were injured and the others refused to do any healing. This was a very dangerous playstyle given a killer who can quickly cover great distances. The 2nd match I entered endgame chat and lamented on the outcome and the attitude of the others.

12th: Now this was a surprise. The first match in the game with a true tunneler. You know the one that wants to hook you for the 3rd time even when there are 2 other survivors running along that can be injured. One survivor DC-ed. In fact, when Jeff got hooked Cheryl did the save in a matter of seconds. I would have gone back to the hook myself. Huge mistake. Awful match with bad survivors. Or perhaps the team was just doing challenges.

13th: Finally, my lose streak ended here. This could have been a 3-member escape but 2 decided to try to save Ripley. She was protected by Clown and she was close to the corner far from both gates. I left as I said no way Jose. The other also got sacrificed.

14th: Pretty awful match. Got the hatch so I got lucky. Dwight was the first on the hook and he decided to give up. At stage 2 he got saved so he decided to wash up immediately. Plague started using corrupted after so everything went downhill.

15th: Great match where the majority of my time was spent with running away from Oni. I got hooked twice and team members also saved twice when Oni picked me up. This was a great teamwork and we all managed to leave injured. I forgot to check Oni's playtime. He did make a lot of mistakes with the dash hit. I wonder if he was a new player or a killer picking Oni the first time.

All WIN matches were recorded with the exception of the 2nd as I stopped recording since I thought I'd lose with Meg.

So what do you think of the results? 5 wins out of 15 matches. What was the survivor avg win ratio? 40%? This is not far from it. I was surprised to see only two tunnelers (Trickster and Oni at the end) and while the win ration is lower than the average the gens we did were OK overall. There were definitely 3-4 matches with bad survivor decisions and where people decided to give up so perhaps the end result could have been different.

Eh You didn't really win some of those games from what you said you were given hatch a few times and i don't think Hatch escapes specifically are "wins". The Adepts are pretty outdated in my opinion. I mean they used to just be getting the survivor/killer perks unlocked for the original survivor/killers anyway.

  • They're pretty easy challenges it's not like they're asking you to do something ridiculous.

    Hello,

I've not played in about 9 months but came back a couple days ago and noticed about 50% of people I play against using DS. It doesn't look like it's been buffed but was wondering if this was just a coincidence or if it's really become popular again?

Anti-tunnel in general is more popular. You'll usually see Dead hard, OtR, or Dstrike a decent amount now with how popular tunneling has become.

  • I don't think it would delete your progress as it's saved in steam cloud and behavior has their own servers they save progress on now so you should be fine, the only way you'd lose stuff on steam is if you removed it from your library.

  • I don't think so, Xeno basically takes the power of 3-4 other killers, combines them into it's power and goes with it. It's power is essentially the combination of slinger/nemesis for the tail and demi/sadako for the tunnels. Xeno also is slapped with the 115% speed a little bit of stealth when in crawler, also the turrets work ~10% of the time maybe less so you're mostly dealing with a 115% ranged killer with stealth and map presence who can also find survivors hiding while in tunnels.

  • I don't really get the MMR stuff. It feels like it's opposite ends for me. If i play killer it's a 4-man SWF sweat squad but as survivor it's immersed survivors who just got the game. Makes it really difficult to have a good time playing either.

  • @ChaosWam said:

Mine swaps between survivor and killer depending on the time of day.

Mine used to do this, was survivor in the afternoon/early evening and killer and night and morning.

  • I think there are plenty other killers than need some touching up before nurse. Her issues are more than just a rework to basekit, they've basically done that already with basic hit perks like NOED and Sloppy not triggering on hits and reducing her blinks from 3 to 2 base. She does break the game rules but it's not impossible to deal with her.

  • It really depends, usually if you see it it's some sweaty 4-stack that's doing it or if it's against a less than amazing killer it definitely hurts a bit more.

How many levels would you need to complete to have enough iridescent shards to buy all non-licenced characters ?

for reference, you get just under 25k iri shards every 100 account levels and 35 original characters that cost 9k shards each so probably close to 1300 levels.

  • Really depends on if there's double xp or if they give them away in codes or something. Probably 800-1000 hours maybe more.

  • The joke i always make to friends is since Nic cage is in the game, i say it's going to be Pedro Pascal next.

  • Blight, Sadako, Trickster.

  • Just a survivor. They haven't said if it's licensed or not so it's up in the air. Should know soon though.

  • I believe that is for everyone to decide for themselves when they're playing but I would take into account that if you do consider it a party game and are screwing around some people may not like that if you're solo queue.

  • Add a possibility of failure and splitting your attention even if it's for a second. Think of it as your character fixing a mistake or adjusting a wire quickly on the generator to prevent an explosion or keeping calm and not fumbling while mending a wound.

  • Some hex perks are pretty bad but if you combo a few into a build it becomes a real pain to deal with. Like devour or Face the darkness, undying, Pentimento, thrill of the hunt. Or Plaything, Pentiment, face the darkness. These are really annoying to go against and add a ton of slow down for no reason to any killer.

  • I think Killer should have more power than survivors and i believe there should be some sort buff killers get if they are struggling based on gens completed to survivors hooked. This could be speed buff until a certain hook criteria is met or information to assist the killer in maintaining pressure. Currently it seems the way to play is to tunnel the first survivor out immediately to maintain control/pressure.

It's hard to really address the issue without raising more issues though or making one side mad about it but for a fun game i would say they need something to make it so the killer is not down and out after some quick generator completions early on.

  • Probably depends. You can do some nasty stuff with some killers that you can't with others. Like Sadakos iri tape makes her super unfun to deal with, pigs slow search scream builds are horrendous Myers is kind of bad with gravestone piece etc. The ones i mostly hate dealing with are Blight or ghostface, but it's usually other survivors that are worse to deal with than the killers.

Killer sided game. Noticed how the incentive has been 100% survivor throughout the event? Why would anyone want to play an unbalanced match as survivor?

very far from a killer sided game in most ways. Have you played hawkins at all? It depends on killer but usually it's very survivor sided but survivors have to play pretty coordinated most of the time or just you know do gens then it's super survivor sided.

  • probably should have just killswitched the onryo instead, would have less upset players probably.

boy, did I hit a nerve here.

im a p100 singularity with 100% winrate and nearly 100% killrate in 200 consecutive games, what other cool story will you tell me? im actually working for my wins instead of relying on exploits to get an unfair advantage.

you're mad because I rightfully called the likes of you out. You are not skilled at this game, you are skilled at abusing its bugs and therefore cheating. If you disagree - come to any decent poker table and try to cheat there and say how it is part of the game and it takes skill.

If you were actually good, you wouldn't need to resort to these exploits, because you could win regardless.

just because you want to play the game on hard mode doesn't make you any better than others getting wins.

Never seen poll which is odd but if you are polling the community do you want voice chat in game then I couldn't see why a feature would be voted again. Too many variables for a poll for people e.g. a high percentage my be obtaining an unfair imbalance and why lose that.

The question is about balance and fairness not that it should be put to a poll

It was in one of the review surveys they asked a few questions about it and i think it was somewhere between 70-90% of people said they weren't interested or would just toggle it off.

  • The only way they'd do that is if they took away the negative effect but it would essentially similar to hag. Most Hags i see just trap basement and it's next to impossible to get someone out without them or someone else going down.

  • They did a poll a little bit ago asking about voice chat and a high majority of people either didn't want it or would turn it off.

  • Cheating is definitely up in the past few weeks. Most of the cheating stuff i assume is subtle but there have been more obvious things like teleporting and such now. Had a game a few days ago against a trapper who just instadowned and hooked everyone in 20 seconds of match start and kept teleporting. I went to stage 2 on hook, unhooked myself cause he was just teleporting back to everyone in a fall animation and i unhooked myself from anti camp and immediately got hit 20 times and downed re-hooked and was so fast the game didn't register and i was still in stage 2 with 20% left on the bar.

You know, I don't think trickster is strong or anything but I would never start an argument by mentioning you need to hit 1/5th of your knives.

You really shouldn't be playing a character your miss your power more than 80% of the time.

I said you need to hit around 1/5 of the knives for one damage state you start with 44 blade base. I wasn't saying i'm missing them all it's just a lot more than the previous 1/7 for a damage state.

  • I've had one that was blatantly obvious as when i loaded in the game he was teleporting around hitting everyone down instantly and hooking immediately. Had all 4 hooked in like 10 seconds and kept teleporting. After i unhooked he hit me like 20 times while i had the iframes and downed me as soon as they were gone, rehooked me so fast it still said i was in struggle phase with 10% left.

  • This is a weird Phenomenon i've had playing the game the past 4 months or so, I will get the sweatiest of sweats as killer but as survivor i will get the worst of the worst. It really makes no sense to me.

  • He feels pretty bad now, you have to hit 1/5 of your knives to damage a health state. It's not like he just got the speed buff some of his add-ons got nerfed as well as taking 2 more knife hits to injured. There's many chases where you could easily have shaved off 10-20 seconds with huntress or slinger.

  • The best way is to aim for 9 hook minimum on killer.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 22
