It is a party game, not a competitive game. There are no official win conditions. Just escape/kills that highten your MMR. And that MMR just has a soft cap, that’s it. Your “reward” would be prestiging, that’s it. Ofherwise you have picked the wrong game.
I do so wish this were the truth. Maybe in the beginning it was but it has shaped into a pretty competitive game over the years.

I've noticed this a lot recently. Idk if it's a desync issue or what, but it's usually similar to yours where the sound is the same instance or sometimes after you get off the gen. It's happened a lot when i switch from repair to toolbox repair too for whatever reason.
-
Would depend on the map and killer, but in most cases survivors would win.

I’ve been playing this game for 2 year now, have around 4,300 hours, and NEVER the devs have been more transparent, and yes, they do in fact lac the ambition to do some necessary changes, but I repeat, NEVER they have listen to the community more, it’s been painful to see SOOOOOO many ptbs that ware done, feedback gave, and ABSOLUTELY NONE changes would be made, but in the now days, they not only communicate what they are doing before they do it, they change thinks based on feedback, take trickster for example, or xeno, or whatever u want, ever since the MMR disaster they’ve listening, I don’t think the hate they are receiving is fair by any means
I don't think they are very transparent or listen too well now like they used to. idk if you played around year 1 but they used to do weekly live streams and give updates on the game and involve the community frequently then. They don't really do that anymore maybe once a year for the anniversary stuff.
-
Very hard to say, an out there theory i have is it leans towards Predator as the knives belong to people who are "predators" in one way or another in the way they kill, and it's an invisible predator looking at michaels weapon perhaps?
-
I think people are buying too much into it being a killer update and instead it will be a reveal for a michael rework THEN a killer reveal along with ptb.
-
Old map versions, more killer variety i feel like way back in year 1 or 2, sure there was only a handful but you seen them all, now you just see like 4-5 with the rare outlier.
-
i usually find 4/5 games i am next to at least 1 other person. most of those times though it is 2 or everyone has spawned together.
-
I think there's a lot of different issues with perks now compared to 3-4 years ago. For killers some just synergize way to well with their power or get buffed and survivors seem to lack a lot of meaningful perks as only a few are pretty useful and there are a ton of niche use perks.
-
For that exact reason. To make looping more difficult and have room for error.
-
It's not ranks anymore it's grades. resets to what used to be 20 every month and has nothing to do with who you're matched with. I think the only purpose it has now is for blood points at resets.
-
Just use stealthy stuff like calm spirit, distortion, lightweight, sole survivor or left behind also bring a key. Just rat around hiding constantly to not be seen. The challenge encourages really bad playstyle and pretty much requires to to almost say screw the other survivors.

After 3,5 hours playing this game today, hoping for some nice rounds, i finally stoped... a little bit in disblieve.
This is no news for you: DBD has one if not the most toxic and generally speaking worst community someone can think off. But what i have wittnessed today is beyond my usual, most of the time sub par experience.
Today i played exclusiv survivor and i am not exaggerating when i tell: Not a single round, in 3,5 hours where the killer has not tunneled 1 person out of the game early on. The endgame chat was in 8/10 cases bashing like "gg ez" or other rude language.
I need to ask this question, and i am not sure if it is rhetorical in nature. What is wrong with people in this game? What makes people play like complete jerks and then even beeing aholes in the chat?
Is there really nothing BHVR can do to fix this issue? After a day like this, i would even considere something like base kit DS, which would not be a terrible idea - forcing the killer to play the game instead of cheapshoting an easy win by creating a quick 1v3 situation.
This of course wont happen to me to that degree when i play in a group of friends, since generators would be done and you can coordinate things. But playing as solo survivor is a different story.
Thoughts about that?
Killers want to do event stuff and survivors want to gen rush typically. The event in general feels like it's poorly designed and encourages slugging for killers to maximize points gained from it. Also eliminating 1 person drastically increases pressure the killer puts on survivors and with how survivors have been lately i don't really blame them.
-
I think it's more of a "if survivors do gens then it's an easy win" compared to the chasing someone and one of the survivors chasing you with a flashlight for whatever reason. My solo Queue games seem to be me doing gens and the other 3 hiding or doing a random totem.
-
Definitely been seeing subtle little speed boosts, noise reductions, and flashlight blinds recently. They think they're sneaky with it but you can chalk it up to MFT until the endgame when you see no MFT.
-
the haunts are the ghosts you activate from the spirit realm. They show up as white auras, you just have to run the killer/survivor near them
-
It does need more windows, less pallets but there are other maps in need of changes over The Game which was already reworked.
-
It's more annoying than anything, i also still don't understand the reason everyone runs windows. To address the dlc thing, i think this is one of the better dlcs released for killers in a while, the perks are decent, killer is decent, only survivor perks suffered this time but even then idk because the cryobomb on pallets also brought changes to make stun mine and wire tap easier to use while it still being alright.
-
I will scan the webs for certain items/add-ons/offerings. If the add-ons aren't really big on that killer i'll just looked for BPS or cake/puddings. For example: For killer I will usually take, BPS/Puddings first, then add-ons i want, then auto-buy after. For survivors i look for BPS/Cake, Map offerings, sometimes add-ons, but usually just auto-buy after i get map offerings.
I do have everyone P3 on both sides so it makes it a little easier i guess.
-
I'm still just wanting d-strike/off the record endurance to deactivate after the survivor is healed to healthy state.
-
The issue is there is "Toxic" behavior and "scumbag" playstyles/behavior. For instance Slugging/camping/tunneling I see as more towards the scumbag behavior while it Isn't outright toxic, it's not exactly nice. Toxic behavior to me would be, t-bagging at the exit gates, flashlight clicking at the killer, killers hitting survivors that are hooked repeatedly, doing their weird little movement ritual on survivors that are slugged, etc.
-
People are that scared of flashlights? The only time i'd say to use lightborne is if 3-4 flashlights even then though it's still less appealing that other perks. Just face a wall or hit them if you know they're around when you down someone.

I've been saving iridescent shards for oct0ber because I don't know if there is going to be a half off event does anyone know?
things usually don't go on sale for shards if i remember correctly.
-
You can for unsportsmanlike but i doubt much will happen without video proof and even then it's a toss up. I don't really get that trend of killers doing that to survivors, it seems kind of a sad thing to do.

Where does that leave your teammates? Remember 4=1 when it comes to survivor.
I mean obviously if i'm trying to not get downed it could be bad but 2 of the 3 games the killer was just not so great and only 1 would i say things could have gone differently. Then again i'm not just hiding in a corner i am still doing gens and getting saves just was avoiding the killer as much as i could. It was my last challenge on the tome and i wanted it done so i could go back and do other tome challenges.
-
It depends what you want from the survivor. If you want outfits, well it's quite easy to see which ones to pick. Licensed survivors are cool but costly if you want different outfits for them but if you don't mind that, you can't go wrong with Cheryl, jill, or leon. Basically can play 3-5 different characters on each survivor.
-
the key is to play whatever has the bonus going on if you want points. Also killer in general will net you more points as it's easier to score on them than it is on survivors.
-
I did the challenge in 3 matches earlier in solo queue... you just have to play like the ultimate rat and hide and such. I'd highly recommend lightweight, quick and quiet, and distortion at minimum.
-
It's hard to say really, i have similar issues with matchmaking but i don't really think there is a matchmaking thing as when i play survivor i usually get teammates who seem brand new but as killer i get the sweats consistently.
-
I've not seen many people dodge p100s on either side, maybe 1 or 2. I usually never dodge as killer unless there's like 3 and i don't feel like putting up with the shenanigans.
-
i've seen bots hide in a corner or professionally loop you, there is not difference. I've also had a bot item tech me and steal my medkit after i unhooked it.
-
yea but the likeliness of pipping in red ranks is abysmal for survivor. De-pipping is frequent and sucks in general.
-
I will say that 3 iri unbroken medals looks pretty terrible.
-
It's been a thing. you get 3 then after those 3 if another day has passed you get 1 in reserves as that days challenge.
-
I think it's heal removes all the points you get from injuring/downing, the only way to secure points for it is hooking i think or hitting them at the exit gates before they leave
-
I have had my suspicions about when that has happened. It hasn't happened in a bit but when it has it when i was in a chase with someone every time usually doing very well as killer in the game. I've seen it happen a couple times recently to killers about a week ago but this was close to the beginning of the game so could just be them dcing.
-
Yes, depending on the way it's done. If everyone is farming it's fine, if someone is outright running the killer to you and the killer goes after you it's griefing/unsportsmanlike i think.
-
The killer needs some adjustments. It feels super oppressive in the current state, between the tail attack and the tunnels plus lack of turrets doing anything most of the time. I think people undersell what this killer has base kit, You literally have 2-3 killers powers packed into one killer with minor downsides.
-
uh, hope your teammates placed the turrets in decent spots and hope Xeno isn't running turret add-ons. If there are turret add-ons used (one or both) your turrets are 90% useless in most cases.
-
It's getting kind of sad where i get excited in my games that don't have Xeno as a killer.
-
Sounds like maybe one of your parts is going bad, possibly RAM, CPU or your SSD/HDD. I used to have issues similar with stuttering till i swapped to a new SSD.
-
Just run empathy and background player with sabo and a tool box. If the killer picks someone up near a hook just sabo it. No SWF needed.
-
I don't know what or if the MMR actually works, I consistently see p100s in my killer lobbies though i kill a lot but in survivor i see p1-30s rarely p100s and the survivors play like they have no idea what's going on.
-
Free weekend issues
-
Very oppressive. High A-tier maybe low S.

I have no idea really. I think outside of SWF, survivor is just pretty rough. Honestly after 500 hours of solo queue, I'm close to just finding a SWF. I can't be bothered to coordinate with people, but it's gotta be better than the solo queue experience.
I feel that, did many hours past couple days felt so horrid in solo queue. whether it's the dcs people giving up or what not.
-
Does MMR exist? i feel as though survivor i escape maybe 10-20% of games maybe less and the statistic does carry over to killer where i conistently 3-4k 80-90% of the time. I see the same players when playing killer and survivor so how does mmr even work in general?
-
My thoughts on Xeno from many games since release is, it's an oppressive killer and if played somewhat right will easily stomp people. As you said it's good in lower to mid mmr but so are most killers... I play both sides more leaning towards killer but this killer feels pretty rough. Has a lot of tools in the arsenal and not really difficult to learn.
-
More so learn the tail length, loops and other things. The killer is super oppressive for the most part.
-
I've never seen the 0/5 it usually just counts down from 5 for me. Maybe it's a setting?
