Having to look behind yourself when you are running forward and not bumping into objects while judging when the killer is about to swing or use an ability while ALSO making sure you are Dead Harding in a spot that will be advantageous to allowing you to get to a safe spot while ALSO keeping in mind where you end up being after you use Dead Hard because it only goes in a straight line.
Yeah, it's a very low skill ability. I'd say, in fact, that's it's probably one of the highest skilled perk in the survivors kit, if not the highest. It's also one of the best perks for making high skill plays in the survivors kit. If anything, there should be a lot more perks similar to Dead Hard that require skill to use and also let you make amazing plays.
You already know how to loop anyway (assuming youre not a potato, dh doesnt help potatos). Youre literally just pressing a button to gain distance or delete a mistake you made. Thats it. Thats the skill. Anything else is you pretending.

My Steam Username is pretty consistent. It would be: Facture
Occasionally if I'm in a 4 stack, we will play, red vs blue and I'll change my name for that.
Name sounds familiar. Chances are i have. Ill notice next time

Since the Resident Evil Chapter it is around 3-5 minute wait for Survivor and less than 1 minute for killer.

I run NOED, and yes sometimes it can get frustrating but you just need to counter it. Donβt get ballsy and teabag the killer. Just get out. Really, the only reason I run it is so I can get that extra jump on the survivor who does a gen in my face. I also use it to punish the teabagging idiots. Plus sometimes if can be fun. Like when playing NOED Gate Nurse! But, sometimes as soon as my NOED is active it is destroyed almost immediately.
Stbfl punishes them too because they dont expect you to be able to pick them up so fast π

The halloween trailer was leaked, it wasnt meant to be out yet

Im actually with others here in saying that you should be comfortable in running different perks. Yes, the gens will go faster if you dont use slow down perks. BUT if you make a build and go in with a plan you should do ok most of the time. Maybe you wont get 12 hooks, but so what.
As aven mentioned youre looking to create deadzones around the gens you want to keep in the end game. Whatever build you run can be focused around that. Dont be afraid to pressure the hooks in your area, if you get someone hooked in your territory then you want to be patrolling the gens around there and getting rid of pallets tgere anyway. Then youre using your perks to employ whatever other strat you want.
Im not saying its easy, its not, but if youre so focused on winning all the time that youre not having fun whats the point?

What would that quick nerf be then? Moris were a simple number change, keys aren't that simple.
Just have the hatch only appear after all the gens are done. Also a simple number change

@TicTac said:

Isnt it a great experience seeing a survivor teabagging at the hatch? Its so much fun the devs just needed to nerf franklins bc there was a slight chance you could counter that.
I know it was bc of the vaccine, but
1. There were other ways to solve that
2. You could easily make a quick nerf to keys like you did with moris
They also could have just made franklins not effect the vaccine.
When you code you assign things unique values. So for example:
Medkit =x1
Toolbox=x2
Vaccine=x3
They probably have logic that reads to the effect :if survivor has item and killer has franklins then when killer hits with m1 drop item.
They could have changed that to: if survivor has item that is not x3 and killer has franklins then when killer hits with m1 drop item.
I took some very basic programming courses, im not skilled enough to code a game for sure but i understand enough to know that they didnt make this change because of the vaccines. Whats more likely is survivors hated the fact that their items would disappear. Ive heard even streamers complain about how it "feels bad" and they wont run franklins because "its mean." Even if the charges are gone they can at least get their item back now.
Im with you, the change was a bad one imo

Want to hear something funny. I was playing on a buddies account yesterday giving him tips and what not. Hes a green rank. I see why everyone thinks killer is easy as i believe most killers are green or yellow. I was able to win several games with addonless trapper π¬
Wish it were that simple in reds π

Survivor side i hate removing bt and ds. I know the most efficient strats for killer so i like to be prepared π

I would agree if match making weren't a thing. If I was talking about solely balancing the game via what happens in game, then I'd be on the same page as you.
But the reality is different. Match making is inherently lopsided and attracting people to play survivor means there must be an imbalance
In other words, the combined power of 4 survivors should be slightly more than the power of 1 killer.
If killer was slightly more powerful than the combined power of 4 survivors, match making would suffer tremendously. If killer was perfectly balanced to the combined power, I believe it would too suffer, since the imbalance is still present. This is a 1v4 game.
It's only when killer is slightly weaker does the issue of how to keep match making going smoothly seem resolved imo
Even if this were true, clearly theres an issue since survivir ques are so long.

if you remove all exhaustion perks you have to get rid of the lunge and reduce the killer speed slightly else there is no way a survivor can get away.
I play this game without exhaustion perks all the time and do quite well, as do a ton of other people. NOED and exhaustion perks are 2 sides of the same coin. You trying to lump other stuff in there doesnt work

I think that all depends of solo or swf because normally swf has huge amount of free info therefore they're at advantage but if we gonna look at 4 solo at red ranks vs 1 killer in red ranks I think it's more than 50% that u will win as killer with swf u'll either win or lose no between depending what kind of swf they are
People underestimate 4 good solo survivors. Its really simple and straight forward for the most part. Hold m1 on a gen if youre not in a chase. If you are, loop a couple tines then drop the pallet. If you get hit hold w till you get to another decent loop. Goid survivors know this. They dont waste time with bones and gens. They only mess up when they get overly cocky or altruistic. And when its necessary we are perfectly capable of body blocking, flashlight saving and whatever else without being told to. The only thing missing are the coordinated plays like you see with oracle

Used Resurgence against a Legion, and after being unhooked, The Legion swooped in and tagged me and the rescuer with Feral Frenzy. As he was chasing the rescuer, I was expecting a quick heal after mending only to see my 50% healing progression was nowhere to be seen.
I don't recall the Deep Wound effect resetting healing progress prior to this update, so this confused me much.
Yeah getting stabbed by legion takes a health state and adds deep wounds. Thats always been true as far as im aware.

Oh but I did lol I encountered squads with bunch of meta builds with 4 bnp, flashlights, also some of great loopers rank doesn't mean much now because of matchmaking that is broken but again if playing killer is bit hard at rank 1-2 than so be it it is normal u go against experienced players but u already have skills in rank 1-2 so chances are still 50:50
Some of the people i play against dont need items or perks at all, those are just there for show. You'll see. At r6 i dont doubt youve faced decent squads, im saying theres better. I know this cause you say its 50/50. Its really not lol.
What balances the experience out is thats not every game. Some games are easy, some games really are 50/50. Some games you better get someone in the basement and hope theyre altruistic
-
How this hasnt been addressed ill never understand
-
Once you know the killer has it, a simple counter is to get the gen to just past 70% and sneak away. He'll show, kick the gen, look for you, leave, as long as you get back to it before it gets below 70% he wont be notified youre back on it.
Or, run spine chill and sprint burst. Those counter a ton of stuff anyway besides just tinkerer

Your argument here is very reductive
Its really not though.
You like being chased.
When youre tunneled youre the only one being chased.
But then tunneling bad, which means you for some reason want the killer to stop chasing you so you can hold m1 and stare at a generator.
None of this makes sense to me. I dont mind being tunneled personally, im trying to understand why you do when its giving you the thing you like

Chasing/being chased
Ok, if youre being tunneled then all the boring bits are cut out and you just get to do the fun stuff. So whats the issue?

- I blame the community circle jerk more than the devs tbh.
- This game has had an insane amount of content added to it, usually to the detriment of 1) and 2). Don't agree here.
- Balance is decent right now and has gotten steadily better over time.
- I enjoy it. It is long though. Depends if you appreciate the journey or just want to get to the end.
- Offerings are supposed to have little to no impact. That's the case across the board now.
- This is improving all the time. There are only a small minority of perks that are straight up useless now, even outside of niche builds.
- Map balance is also decent and has consistently improved over time. There are only a couple that need more substantial changes imo.
I disagree with you on the maps. I think theyve gotten worse over the last year. Corn maps still suck, groaning storehouse is still godawful. Dont get me started on RPD and the game. Midwich i like even though most people hate it. Its like theyve learned absolutely nothing imo in terms of map design. In a lot of those cases they made the maps worse

I'd give a problem to slow to change the game as a problem. the meta could be so much more spicy if they were to give meaningful buffs/nerfs more often instead of waiting for 3 months for them to change how fast demo moves while channeling his leap.
I think Scott had a great idea with perks of the week. Basically pick 2 perks on each side. Buff the crap out of them, then pick 2 meta perks and nerf them. If something breaks the game, no biggie because its only a week, if something turns out to be awesome, keep it

The trade off for the Invincibility is the severally reduced distance you get with Dead Hard. 3 seconds of distance with Sprint Burst and I think only 1 second with Dead Hard. Also, Dead Hard doesn't allow you to turn.
Honestly, Dead Hard is the high-skill type perks that should exist. It's strong but requires a lot of skill to use. Honestly, Sprint Burst and Lithe are stronger. In certain situations, Dead Hard is better but usually the other exhaustion perks out-class it in every way.
This is what im saying, they think using dead hard takes skill π
It takes as miniscule amount of skill as possible in a game like this, like hitting a skill check. Thats it

I just played it on two matches in a row on myers.
Tinkerer, cruel limits, bamboozle, infectious fright, with the lock of hair and j myers memorial addons.
I got a 4k and a 3k. The 3k happened because even though i closed the hatch the last survivor found a key in a chest at some point and got out :'(
The idea is that being in tier 3 for longer with the addons means big scary TR and tinkerer makes you a stealth tier 3, and cruel limits blocks in survivors on the gen that triggers tinkerer by the time you get there and start a chase. It also punishes survivors for finishing gens right next to you when youre hooking someone or in a chase near a gen.
Infectious fright helps you slug while in tier 3 and bamboozle is just there because i cant think of what else might synergize with the rest of the build.
I only got use out if bamboozle when closing off the killer shack and forcing a drop on the god pallet.
How much value did you actually get out of cl though? Did it get you a down or did the game play out pretty much how it would have without cl?
Its a good build, just switch cl out for almost anythibg else imo
