What? This is extremely wrong:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9M8HE3ZNAUK1/image.png
3 survivors on the same gen would take 118.1 seconds to fully repair it. 118.1/4 = 29.525 which isn't even close to 7 seconds.
And yes, current Freddy is stronger but he is boring and unfun. That is not something that I accept, never did and never will. And, if we take Freddy's power on-release, which is different from the Old Freddy we are talking about, then the disparity of strength is not even that great.
As for the lore, remake's Freddy used blood once, it was a river and not a pool. However, it can be inferred that he pulled Nancy and her mother into the Dream World, precisely what his old power reflected.
Bruh....you think 3 survivors working the same gen takes longer than 1 survivor doing a gen?
No, no thats not how any of this works. If 3 survivors get on the same gen it takes 38.1 second for them to complete that gen, thats without toolboxes or prove thyself btw. The efficiency penalty applies to your individual speed. At 30% penalty, YOU are repairing 30% slower than normal.
Simple math, for every 9 seconds on your own, youre doing 6 seconds on your own when theres 3 of you. BUT THERES 3 OF YOU. So 3 of you would have 18 seconds of a generator done in what took you on your own to do in 9 seconds.
Here are the real numbers
On no planet does it take 4 survivors longer to do a gen than what a solo survivor would do it in. Look to the far right of your screen shot, it gives you the nunbers right there.
If remake fred made a river of blood you dont think he can make a puddle? 😂

I’ve experienced this a few times now while playing since the new update…I’ll be in a chase with the killer and I can usually run them pretty good, but here recently I’ve been getting stuck on nothing and it gets me hit or downed. So has anyone else experienced this?
I dont suppose you were a nora that got stuck on nothing outside of killer shack and downed by legion on deaddawg were you?

Not exactly. If all 3 o[are on the same gen, repairing a quarter of it would take roughly 29 seconds, far longer than the Transition.
Besides, by 7 seconds half of the chase was already done, now it was up to you whether to hit them, commit to them, or leave them. And on a normal situation committing to a chase was not a good idea. The best possible strategy with Freddy was hit and run tactics while juggling survivors between awake and asleep.
When done right, they were not getting those gens.
And yes, his current version is stronger, but unfun, boring and generic. Not to mention kinda inaccurate with the remake's lore. He lost what made him unique, what made him special, and that is unacceptable.
It takes 3 survivors to do 1 gen in 38 seconds. If all 3 are on the same gen then a quarter of the gen is 9 seconds. How is 9 seconds well beyond the transition of 7 secobds? By the time youve transitioned that dude and downed him theyve finished the gen and are moving on 😂
I think hes fun, what you think is boring and generic isnt an argument. You admitting that freddys current version is stronger is all I needed to hear.
How is it inaccurate with the lore? Its the entities realm, if she wants fredster to be able to stab awake survivors she can do that
-
Crash number 8, this time on cowshed.
Particularly frustrating because i was losing but was 5 seconds away from turning tge loss into a draw. Guarantee they had a nice laugh at the dcing killer 😡

Only if survivors decide to split up on gens, which is kinda rare on solo queue. And their progress combined result in a quarter of a gen, not individually, and it is possible to recover from that.
Also, the Incapacitated status effect would help you deal with gens, totems and heals. While it might not be the strongest thing ever on one survivor alone, it is very powerful against multiple, which was always his strength. Of course there were scenarios where he would struggle, such as the one you've described, but the same thing happens with every other killer except Nurse.
And weakest killer? Oh please, he was never the weakest.
Don't trust my word? Then trust Otz:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6D1kZNdUrk8
Skip to 1:06:20 and see for yourself.
Almost every other game i see survivors split on gens, even if all 3 if them are on the same gen pretty sure youve lost more than a quarter at that point. My point isnt that he can be gen rushed like every other killer, my point is youre wasting 7 seconds staring at a survivor which in reds (solo or swf, split or not) is a quarter of a gen. Then you have to chase the survivor on top if it.
Ive seen ohtz video a long time ago, even if he wasnt weakest then hes certainly weaker than he is now.

7 seconds is not even close to a quarter of a gen, and there are a few things to keep in mind:
The Dream World had 50% slowdown base kit. That is why the best idea was to pull as many survivors as you could. If they used Skill Checks to wake up, they are just making the game go by slower, not to mention that they just told you exactly where they are. And that is when his lack of mobility presented itself as an issue, something that the modern day Dream Projection could fix.
As I've said, as long as you knew what you were doing, the Transition would result on a free hit. You could pair it with Thanatophobia for even more slowdown. Or you could just leave them be, denying a possible Self-Care skill check and forcing them to make mistakes.
Freddy had his fair share of weaknesses, and was far from being the best killer in the game. But he was deadly if you adapted to his unique playstyle.
7×3=21. 20/80=1/4. It is a quarter of a gen.
The devs would have nerfed the 50% slow down long ago. Even if they didnt, theres a reason he was the weakest killer at that time and the incapacitated sratus on 1 survivor wouldnt have helped

As I've said, it was bad because you couldn't do anything to prevent survivors from finishing gens and heals in your face, something the Incapacitated status effect could easily fix.
Not to mention that you could reduce it to 3 seconds with add-ons, if you really wanted to. Also, the Transition would almost always result on a free hit, if you knew what you were doing.
Thats 1 survivor though. Theres 3 more. In that 7 seconds youre just standing there staring at them a quarter of a gen got done. Multiple that across all the times you need to put survivors asleep and you can quickly see why it was a busted mechanic

7 seconds of Transition was fine. Being unable to interrupt survivors during the Transition was the problem. In my idea for a Freddy rework, I suggested the Incapacitated status effect to solve this problem.
7 seconds of transition was awful and literally broken. One of tge best things they did was move away from that with fred and doc

Would it be fine? In Your Freddy Version 3.0 with dream pallets base? Just curious thought it'd fit his lore.
Blood pools fit his lore better. There were blood pools that slowed people down in tge movies, i saw a lot of things in those movies, never once a fake pallet

I'd probably add Bamboozle somehow since it makes vaulting faster, lol.
Little off topic but i call this crack doc and its a fun build 😂
-
As someone that uses Freddy a lot, I must say his "nerf" was lip service as it did absolutely nothing. Nor should it, hes a good killer sure but hes def not OP.
As for Pallets, I love them and use them all the time. Yes, blood pools are better, but man are fake pallets fun, maybe youre not doing it right?
Brutal is almost a requirement to get rid of tge pallets. Enduring helps ALOT. Never respect pallets, the survivors will get used to throwing them. Wont take long before they throw them and only find your claws.
Theres 2 builds I run them on:
Pop, bbq, enduring, brutal
This ones not for the feint of heart: tinkerer, nemesis, dark devotion and third seal (you can switch out third seal for trail of torment if you prefer but I like third seal).

Yeah... I changed my mind, I was really overthinking it, sorry.
You're right, I think Fire Up is a nice concept and deserves a buff.
My post to you inspired me 😂
I wish more stuff went with that concept honestly. 👍

@glitchboi said:
It should either:
Block windows 24/32m of the killer's terror radius
OR
Block all the windows in the map.
Honestly, perks shouldn't even reward you for having a gen getting done, including Fire Up. Coup de Grace and Bitter Murmur are different scenarios though.
The idea with fire up is its supposed to make the game harder on the survivors as the game ends, which isnt an awful concept at all imo. Really fire up needs a buff

Cause hes fun for the killer :)
-
Someone needs to loop as Freddy in place of Nea, beanie and all 😂
-
Ive always been able to close the hatch when were both on it as killer. Ive seen others say what youre saying I just dont know why. I even had 3 survivirs standing on it once with a key and the only one that got out was the key use. The other 2 just stared at me for a sec realizing they were screwed 😂
-
I bet i was close to a thousand last year. I had a couple hundred across several killers plus i too 4 different killers through all 3 prestiges. If you play a lot and are decent at the game youll get a ton
-
There were 5 gens on the map. 2 of you had comms at least. If you couldnt manage to get even 1 gen done out of 5 while on comms it wasnt the games fault.
Next time, split up on different gens. If one of you is chased the other will be able to keep working.

I've lost count on how many chases I've won because the survivor ran DH and got greedy about it. Most survivors don't even know how to use properly anyway.
Yeah sure the occassional survivor gets greedy.
Most survivors YOU FACE dont know how to use it properly. Its stupid rare for me to run into a survivor that messes it up.
Theres 2 situations that get brought up constantly and for good reason:
1). You out play a survivor at a loop, they press the button and are able to then make it to a pallet or vault, depending on the survivir and area this can extend a chase 15 seconds or more which is HUGE in red ranks.
2) They use it for distance to get to a vault or pallet, same issue as before.
15 seconds doesnt sound like a lot, but if 3 survivors are working gens it amoubts to 45 seconds of generator time (15 x 3). Pop doesnt even delete that. And thats just 1 dead hard, imagine if there are 4 of them. And its not single use, so if you leave the dead harder they will get to use it again.
ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT the dead hard users think this makes them goid at the game. It doesnt.

New killers arent great either. If they go through the tutorials seems fine. Its not like its going to do anything if the killer never comes to a gen, and even if he does and doesnt find you and leaves youre right back on it.
Are we balancing around brand new players now?
-
@aroell said:

Giving faster regression will slow the gens down though
Nope. Gen speeds are the same.
What you mean to say is "if the trash killer is able to effectively pressure gens it will take me longer to do them since i lose progress."
The gen speeds havent changed, it just means a killer could have an actual impact on the gens outside if running regression perks

Make her crouch as fast as ghost face. Make her ambush dash way more threatening without addons, let her carry 8 traps and have traps arm on unhook instead of gen. That might put her in company with nurse and spirit.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298464#Comment_2298464
I am more than fone with buffing solo to narrow the gap. But there would need to be sweeping buffs to all killers outside the top 3.
Yeah they could buff the crap out of the dash and slow the cool down. Basically make it so ling and disgustingly fast that if you try and leave the loop she will catch up and if you dont you have to drop the pallet. Interesting
-
Id have it regress at the same speed they repair.
The problem is though how do you then deal with the kicking a gen mechanic?
-
@Steah said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298416#Comment_2298416
Thats why its an effective strategy. But its also one of the 3 deadly sins of the survivor handbook.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298419#Comment_2298419
If and when the gap between solos and swf is reduced, what should be done about the really good swfs. Should Freddy get buffed or is it acceptable to be doomed to be fighting a losing battle?
If they close the gap between solo and swf then i think one thing that would help fred is having blood come out of every gen when hes teleporting. Theres an add on that does this but it locks you into teleporting to that gen. Remove the lock and make it basekit. Not sure what else you could do, if anything.
I think some of the other killers are more interesting. Like how do you buff pig to deal with a 4 man good swf? Her traps would need to be ruthless and shed need some way of countering loops, maybe she can trap pallets and vaults? Not sure.
-
When im killer its gone in 15 seconds and i get 0 value out of it.
When im survivor i cant find that ######### any where 😭

@Steah said:

Pig is probably the second worst killer in a chase. I think she beats out hag. But even then is that reasonable? I mean the pig was going for mind games. Not even just holding w plus the survivor wasn't even milking as much time out of the first pallets as possible.
I know survivors hate facing spirit because of how devastating she is in chase. I guess my question then becomes wheres the sweet spot. Pig is obviously too weak in chase. Spirit is considered too strong.
Any power you can use to stop looping the survivors call op. I had to explain to a purple rank swf the other day why clown isnt op. And thats the trade off. If a killer is good at 1v1 but weak at 4v1 then they are TYPICALLY low tier. The killers that are decent in both survivors think are op, the truth is killers NEED both.
Freds an example, if the survivor is asleep he can stop looping pretty quick. Plus his teleport gives him map control. Hes still loopable when awake though to a crazy degree.
Spirit is similar, she can use her power to end chases or get around the map.
Wraiths new speed allows him to get that first hit quickly and have better map control.
The weak killers are typically very weak in both areas. Like pigs traps can sometimes be great in the 4v1 cause they can stall the game, sometimes they do nothing, and her 1v1 is atrocious.
Honestly imo Freddy is pretty balanced in red ranks, hes not quite strong enough to compete against REALLY good swfs. And I think more killers need ways to get around the map like he can. But hes beatable like every otger killer by simply splitting gens and dropping pallets early.
I dont think spirit is op

Its even better when you consider
1. He had no perks. So no exhaustion perk.
2. He didn't even loop the beginning pallets at all.
3. After getting hit he still beat pig to hatch on the other side of the map.
With a set up like that it's comical to say the pig had the advantage in the 1v1 that game. If that wasn't a troll game that pig had no chance assuming the other survivors could loop at an average level.
I think pig is MEANT to be better at the 4v1 given her traps, its to bad their weak. But she needs something to help her in a 1v1. Ambush attack only helps against noobs.
Almost any other killer would have been able to use their power in some way. Almost.

U don´t see the clow loopng the pig so hard everyday lol. Is that a cosmetic skin or a mod?
Respect to the gameplay, Idk. The survivor looks really good. And although the killer doesn´t look like pretty good at chases, he has just won the match with 3 kills.
It was a mod, only he could see the clown skin, everyone else saw Jane 😂
The other survivors were just messing around, it wasnt a serious game, thats why the pig was willing to do the chase.
Sweh is very good, not taking anything away from him, the pig was above average. Not bad, not great. In terms of skill level yes sweh was better.
The point is though the rng was such that there was nothing this pig could have done. What if 2 of the survivors had been as good as sweh and the other 2 had been just decent at the game? The way this stuff spawned in, the number of pallets, the placement of the tiles, the fun bus, sweh himself admits its broken.

Idk it seems they are just looking for something to blame their failures on. I dont even use DH in any of my matches and killer still cant get hits good in so....i am still not convinced DH is the actual problem here.
But, if you want to remove DH sure, but then i want the killers lunge attacks also gone to make it fair, then i wont need a perk for ditance if the killer cant lunge at me from meters away.
The lunge isnt remotely comparable 😂 what i said is remove all exhaustion perks AND noed.
-
This is an interesting video. Sweh is able to run this pig for almost 10 minutes. At one point he even says that this is literally broken, if you watch it closely the pig makes a couple of small mistakes but not bad enough that it should take 10 minutes. No survivor should ever be this strong in a 1v1. Start watching at 5:30
https://youtu.be/sc0U6xfr1d0I dont know how they fix that, but its really gross
-
Its an add on he can run that causes that to happen. Basically any zombies he deatroys after the last gen pops go there.
Would have been WAY COOLER if all zombies that were destroyed throughout the whole trial spawned in there instead
