Hag is the worst killer to go against as survivor and I get sick every time I go against her. Not only can she cancel a chase in a click of a button with her traps which is the ONLY thing survivors can really do in this game if being chased by the killer. Not only can she do that she is jumpscaretopia which is the most annoying thing when playing an online game. Because when playing single player you can just jump, and then pause, and then laugh. But no, on here the thing jump scares you, it turns your ######### camera, and then she pops out and smacks your ass, and then your day is ruined. I just wanna play a fun game with my friends but I can’t have that when I want to rip my eyes out every time I see that cabbage. It wouldn’t even be that hard to delete her, keep the perks and just turn devour into a killer neutral perk like Freddy’s were on the switch for a while
“But she’s fun to play as” you say but I don’t care because I don’t want this game to be fun on one side and garbage on the other. This game should be fun for both sides but it can’t because we have stuff like Hag and Spirit and Pyramid Head and moris and keys and fast gens and Noed and adrenaline and all the stuff that makes the community so angry at this game but keep playing it because there’s nothing else like this game because the idea is cool but the execution is garbage and the devs can’t focus on fixing the game they just have to make more killers that end up being the worst thing on the planet that we just want fixed but BHVR has to go chasing the next butterfly because they don’t want to listen to their fan base
You're playing a horror game and complaining about being scared.... I dont find it fun being looped and genrushed for days, but it's a part of the game.

Every time the Killer is guessing in an attempt to outplay the survivors, the survivors are also guessing.
The tiles are designed to protect them, they have a 3rd person view to see what the killer is doing, and the red stain. If survivors are guessing, they need to improve, because there is no reason to guess.
Dont tell me it cant be done, because I've seen survivors that cant be mindgamed.

Umm you do realize looping mindlessly results in death?
What does that have to do with guessing?
Look, for the most part, every tile is set up for survivors to survive, when played correctly, killer cant get a down. Thus, he has to be unpredictable and guess what the survivor will do. Ultimately, the survivor is in total control and the killer gets lucky.
Spirit and nurse are the two killers that can flip that on its head. Killer is now in control, and survivors have to guess. Not everything has counter play in this game, killers have to deal with ds/unbreakable, dead hard for distance, god pallets, and keys. Survivors can deal with two high skill killers.

We mmindgame at looping and that is out playing
Killer side, it's still an educated guess. Will they double back, will they take the vault, throw the pallet, run, etc? You read the player, and take a shot.
Spirit is the same way, but again, survivors aren't used to reading players, they are used to standard looping.

If you have to guess against a killer that means they don't have a counter. I like when I can use my skills to win and not have to hide or waste pallets. Or be a gen rat
Killer has to guess all game long, it's called the mindgame. Survivors dont like it when the role is flipped, because they're used to controlling everything.

DS doesnt have to be used to be powerful. The simple fact that there is an obsession changes the way killers play.
Much like old ruin gave killers too much passive power, DS does the same. By existing it makes the obsession mechanic pertinent and powerful.
Just look at how killers play without an obsession and you see the strength of passive DS.
I found even less usage in my stats, 28% and that led me to calling peoples bluff. DS has so much power because killers give it so much power. Call it a 40% chance of a 5 second stun, or a 100% chance of 60 seconds of free god mode, hand delivered by the killer.
Even if I do get stunned and cant catch the person, I've removed it from the game and am now free to tunnel that person right out of the game.

This is a dumb thread. You cant block or dodge spirit. I hate her because when I slow vault or pre drop pallets she ALWAYS knows where im at and that means of I try and get away it doesnt work she will go around the window if she hears me. You have to pray she doesnt have a headset if you want to win against a good spirit. Don't compare it to a fighting game where every character can be wrecked by skill.
No, mixup characters in fighting games use 50/50 moves, meaning you guess, based on the person and their playstyle. Look at sonic fox and batgirl for example. When you do guess right, you have to punish.
Spirit is also a 50/50 character. It's the punishment that's the issue.

"No one wants to play killer. "<--- can we for once stop with this? It is not true at all. Besides, before Crossplay the Queue Times were instant for Survivor and longer for Killer. And nobody said "No one wants to play Survivor".
@Topic:
My Queue Times are roughly the same as before Crossplay. Usually I get instant Lobbies from Morning until Afternoon as Survivor and longer Waiting Times for Killer (5 minutes+), and in the evening/night, I have instant Queues for Killer and have to wait around 3 minutes for Survivor. The Survivor Queues got a little bit longer in the evening (instead of 2-3 minutes it is mostly around 3 minutes now).
Probably, because Console had a lot of Survivor players. Also, Console Killers dont have to play Crossplay to have instant Lobbies, so I assume that many already have disabled it to get "easier games against Console Survivors".
It's the truth. When pyramid head came out, suddenly survivor queues were instant and killer queues were long, because of the hype. Once the hype was gone, back to instant for killer.

@ProfessorDunwich said:
I actually thought crossplay would remedy this. Silly me. Been this way since the Ruin nerf. Maybe it is just me.
No one wants to play killer. How bhvr handled that ruin nerf was the single biggest PR screwup I've ever seen. They pissed A LOT of killers off by not addressing the core reason everyone ran that perk, and focusing only on what survivors found fun.
They might as well have said "hey killers, ######### you, go play something else if you dont like it."
As for now, well let's see. You spawn into a match and by the time you get your first down, 2-3 gens have popped. The maps are huge and chock full of safe pallets, the survivor meta allows for endless second chances, but your own perks dont synergize, and matchmaking throws you to the wolves.
So you run around, cant catch anyone, cant hook anyone, and feel totally powerless. The survivors abuse you in game, and in chat. Doesn't that sound like a fun experience?
It takes a psycho like me to stick around and play, but us psychos are rare, thus you get long queue times.

Because that version can have game crashing bugs that they're aware of and need to be fixed. Or it's just not stable enough. Would you rather them release a broken mess and have everyone report on the same bug they found after 3 games of testing themselves or release an older version which is more stable and find bugs in that which they couldn't because it only happens in every 600 games.
But when you fix the bugs on the new version, more might appear. Better to delay the ptb by a week and get a stable, current version for people to test.

If it's a "must" then why do I do so well without it?
Or maybe it's just the number of ridiculously optimal SWF teams I've been getting since crossplay that changes my perspective. Ignoring 1 person for the sake of stacks is dangerous, but if you don't ignore them then your stacks are worthless. Add in a few locker DS's and that perk is done for.
I feel that same way on most killers, but not slinger. You can do well with him, but that perk is god tier on him.

Although I am actually curious how useful STBFL is for you - I feel like I never get value, but that's probably because I'm more of an anti-healer than full-commitment chaser
It really is a must have perk on deathslinger. 8 stacks is pretty much an instadown if you can aim.

Yeah, I get the feeling that McLean was like "holy crap, I actually programmed this? Better tell them that this is outdated so they will buy it."
Why release something in the test build that's not even a current iteration? Any feedback they got would have been worthless.

That's the vicious cicle I'm talking about.
May be a vicious cycle, but I respond to what I'm given. In my region, I was/am constantly getting survivors that have way more hours than me, and use every advantage at their disposal. They've grown bored with the game, and the only fun they find is by humiliating the killer.
Throw that in with my extreme dislike of losing, and we end up with me using the strongest perks too. If I could get a match to last longer than 5 minutes while using a stealth build, or a use up your flashlight in one blind build, I would do it.
-
I dont like participation trophies and that's essentially what this and hatch is.
-
@NursesBootie said:
Just so you know. I stopped playing nurse almost entirely, because it somehow got boring and stressful for me. The fun aspects of nurse could just not outweight her bugs and the cooldown on her cooldown.
I like chase potential, so i tried STBFL deathslinger with fast reload for a while. Long story short, that's my new main.
I dont main anyone, but he's definitely a go to when I need a win. I've been playing shooters since Doom was new, so he's definitely strong in my hands.

I got into a match with a rank 8 Leatherface running Insidious. I was the unlucky first to be found and downed. They went out of their way to hook me in the basement, then proceeded to stand still behind the wall and lockers that face the stairs and wait there until someone came to get me, and then instadown them with his chainsaw. Rinse and repeat until all survivors are dead. Camping is one thing, but this I just felt was beyond toxic, so I used the in game report system. Was I wrong to do so?
It's a dick move, but not reportable. There's a lot of dick moves for both sides that the devs dont address. Just move on and hope your team does gens next time, instead of feeding him.
-
When I play wraith, I use double windstorm and devour, just to make him viable. If devour goes, I have to play a little more scummy.

Red ranks are usually always running the same OP meta tier perks over and over, while I see more variety in builds in purple and green ranks.
Yesterday I got into red ranks, and game are alllways the same thing.
Seriously, you guys that run the exact same build over and over, are just boring. There are more perks in the game you know?
I've noticed that obviously, to reach red ranks you need a certain amount of skill, but another reason to reach red ranks, is because you are using meta perks, that's all.
I rather derank at keep playing in purple ranks, before being forced to play meta perks in all of my games.
It's a vicious cicle. Killers or survivors, use meta perks. Then the ones that didn't use them, may feel bad about their performance. Then, they realize they "have to use" meta perks. Then they use meta perks and they make the other side think the same ######### again.
You see what I mean?
Please, try different new builds, don't be afraid of changing one perk slot for something you might have wanted to try before. Same with add-ons.
I know, It was so hard for me at first to get rid of my BBQ+pop, but it gets better, believe me. You feel better when you are experimenting and trying new stuff.
Finally, I'm not saying "NEVER EVER RUN META PERKS". Just that you know, there is a wide roster of perks and add-ons in the game, you can always try something new.
I've tried running silly builds, I get stomped every time, and then harassed for being a bad killer and using crap perks. So I dont any more, I run what's necessary to fix the crap balance in the game.

I’ve been playing this game for a little bit. Got about 500 hours between killer and survivor 50/50 and I really love this game and all of its quirks. I play it daily and enjoy it so much. Before immersing myself in the culture in forums and streams I would have never guessed the community would be so intense about “toxicity” and “entitlement.” I have a suspicion that the people who just like the game are a silent majority. I think many peoples personalities have caused the culture to be really heated. I just take everything as part of the fun and just enjoy it.
Flashlight clicky clicky? It’s a dece distraction I guess and I’m just glad they don’t have medkits.
Exit gate tbag? Lmao go head and do your thing
Noed rekt during endgame collapse? Lol I guess my team is ass and didn’t do bones
Tunneled to death? Decent move can’t blame them. Guess I shouldn’t have got caught first.
DSed? Nbd it’s only once if it gets them the escape I wasn’t in a good position anyways
Gens just pop off? Well I should have prioritized better
I think a lot of y’all just don’t know how to handle a loss. Sure some of this stuff feels slimey but it’s a competitive game and slime is part of people’s competitive nature. May as well just have a laugh and que up again.
The fog smells like butthole for all of us so ya might as well take a whiff.
When the game works as intended, I love it. When matchmaking is busted, or the opposite team is doing their best to make your life miserable, or a gam breaking bug happens, then it's an infuriating mess.

If they dont ignore perks, there is absolutely zero reason to use them. You have to work to get people tormented, you dont know where they are, and they usually spawn right near a survivor, so you get no pressure.

Hello to all Dead By Daylight gamer's I ask you all on your opinion's if Dead By Daylight needs a new mode i have been thinking about it and what i have for my opinion is that you have 2 killers 10-12 players 8-10 gens that have to be done and 3 exit gate's but that's just my opinion tho it will not happen its just an idea.
I've always liked the idea of a kill the killer mode. Survivors need to find items to be used in a ritual that will destroy the killer. Once they get the items and start the ritual, an egc style timer starts. Every so often the killer can see the aura of a survivor, get the survivor performing the ritual, and it adds time, and changes which survivor which survivor is the target, get all 4 and you win, egc runs out and survivor wins.

I saw a few more threads and the normal demands of nerf this, punish this, when are you getting rid of this scattered throughout the Forum. You all know the terms: Camping, Tunneling, Slugging, and the Mori. The vocal and demanding all insist these must go or be somehow punished to keep the Killers from ever daring to do them. So I want to address what is REALLY being asked by all these people, whether they understand it or not. In effect, they don't want Player Killers. They want to fight Bots.
If we remove every single choice from the Killer, except for chasing and looping with you, what agency are you leaving them? I comment on it in one of these other threads, that the vocal and demanding would see all our Killers reduced to being PacMan, albeit with a scary Skin. Killers employ all sorts of different strategies and which ones they use and WHEN is part of the puzzle. Those are the choices they get to make. Without these other tactics to call on when appropriate you leaving them ONLY with looping with you. That's it, glorified Bots.
So this is my question to you, if you take away everything but looping with you, what agency exactly is left for the Killer?
Survivors want you to loop, get two hooks, and then escort you to exit gate, where they teabag until the egc timer is almost out, then leave.
That or they expect you to two hook everyone, play fair, using no second chance perks. While they use swf, and every second chance perk in the game.
Fact is, you have to play dirty and use killers with no counter play if you want to stand a chance of winning.

I play like a rank 10 but somehow got up to rank 1 (Must be the busted matchmaking. But I nearly had an aneurysm from all the bull ######### in the second game.
Loop this, loop that, loop something I didn't even know was ######### loopable, make zero mistakes, rub it in that the survivors are better (No ######### Sherlock) then proceed to call me toxic for dc'ing. Like how entitled are you to bully a killer that is the wrong rank, then when said killer has had enough you call THEM toxic.
And to top it off after me messaging back about the game boosting me with it's garbage matchmaking, you tell me "You have a lot to learn." Nooooo, I had no idea. Pfft, tell me I have a lot to learn, that match was literally like putting a high school basketball player against a team of the best nba players in history, you have no room to tell me that I have a lot to learn when I had no room TO LEARN.
See, I had the opposite of your experience. I was the rank 8-13 that drew rank 1 swf teams with 10k combined hours in every freaking match.
Both ways suck. Matchmaking is a huge problem in this game.

Oh so now we are assuming things for the sake of argument. Alright well I dont want to "bully" killers that's messed up and quite frankly childish. More assumptions yikes. The game should be fun for both side I dont want the game balanced on my *subjective* views but I also dont want weak killers.
I didnt know playing with friends is abusing swf. How about we remove it from the game and watch it die maybe you will like long wait times because no one wants to play solo hell would you?
The strength of swf depends on the skill of survivors and whether they play optimally. My friends and I find sweating boring and try to chill and meme, but keep on assuming if you think that makes your argument worth more.
As long as gens are boring and the chase is the only fun part yeah I will complain I want to have fun to but you look at survivors not as humans but devilish people who are out to get you. Stop that or leave my post.
Depends man, I've had swfs "memeing around" and its absolutely miserable for the killer. That's just the nature of this game, if one side is having fun, the other probably isnt.
As for the swf depending on the strength of survivor, I disagree, it still gives you a massive advantage, even if you sucl.

I have noticed that when it comes to survivors complain about killers like spirit it's always someone saying something like "they want easy games" "they dont wanna change their playstyle." Is this ok now? I try not to generalize killers but why has this not been called out?
There is a problem in this game. Most survivors suck at it, but the top 10% are almost unbeatable. So the survivors that get dunked on by strong killers complain, and the killers that deal with strong swf also complain.
Spirit is one of the few killers that give you a chance against the top teams, but that means she is strong against average people. If you nerf her, it makes the top teams all the more unbeatable, especially since the devs refuse to address gen speed, the swf advantage, or the meta.

You weren’t even in that match first of all and like I said don’t get mad when survivors act like A holes towards killer mains, they bring out the worst in survivors behavior.
I dont see that at all from the killer, he was just securing a kill, and you're complaining because he didnt let you walk out. What youre asking for is the definition of entitled.
Be glad I wasn't in that match, you'd be on here, whining about how overpowered pyramid head is, rather than whining because all 4 didnt escape. Because if you cant dodge his m2 in open space, you wouldnt have lasted 5 minutes against a killer like me.

So me and my friends were SWFing And we ended up getting a pyramid head on this match, unfortunately the killer did not get a hook until almost the end of the match. Once the gens pop he chases the guy that got unhooked from earlier in the game and he unfortunately became tormented and cages him instead of hooking him. The killer ran right to the area of our caged teammate and we all were trying to save him but the killer stands there 4 feet away (which I feel like is still to close for the cage to not move) with his power ready to instantly kill him if we were to save him. There’s nothing we could of done as a team to get him out safely because borrowed time does not proc off cages or any unhooking perk for that matter. Unfortunately we rescued him from the cage because the exit gate was right next to us and wanted to make a play so we could escape as a team but the killer still downs him because of it. Our teammate was very upset as anyone would be and leaves the match and the killer thought it was funny to dance on his body and shake his head. Here’s a clip of what happened and if you don’t want to watch it that’s fine because I explained how the scene went but my question is why? Why do killers play like this? What makes you entitled for a kill knowing you lost? This is why survivors are toxic and bm and do other things to upset killers.
~Rant over
Had everyone escaped the trial yet? No? Then he hasn't lost. Survivors have this idea that once they've completed the gens, they have won.
Killer has every right to camp and use everything at his disposal to kill.

Video:
Lot of mistakes in both videos, but the survivors you're going against allow them.
You've got three major problems that I see, that need improvement. Tracking, hit distance, and power management.
A few times, I saw you leave an area where you know there are survivors to go back to the hook. Lot of time and pressure wasted there.
Hit distance is obvious, you're swinging too early, I can feel your adrenaline from here. Be a little more patient.
Power management is a big one for mikey. You've got the right idea for 99ing people, but then you forget to do it again.
There were a few more questionable decisions, not just eating the locker ds on the healthy survivor, going through the window at the house of pain instead of stalking. Nothing major.

Many people are saying the solution to facecamping is just to "rush gens and punish the killer" - that is not possible unless you are playing in a coordinated team or have very smart teammates - since that is often not the case, a facecamping killer will get an easy win every single game.
The solution is simple - just give survivors a boost to all actions speeds that slowly and constantly rises as long as the killer is extremely close to the hook. This way facecamping could actually be counterable for less experienced people. The boost would dissapear after all gens are done.
Your opinions?
Cant be done. Toxic swf will abuse it by looping the killer around the hooked survivor.
If the devs want to get rid of camping, they already have the mechanics to do it, pyramid heads cages. They dont want to get rid of it though. They want frustration on both sides to keep you coming back. Same reason they dont get rid of teabagging or the survivor meta.

Yes but what you’re saying makes no sense in the context of this post. You’re talking about the killer’s win condition like it has any meaning to the survivors. I have no way to know whether the killer pips or not, it’s entirely separate from whether or not the survivors pip and honestly nobody gives a ######### about pips after about 500 hours unless you’re Tru3talent.
Besides which, if a killer depips and gets ######### for points but kills all 4 survivors, they all depipped and got ######### for points as well. That kind of match means that the survivors also lose. So why are you saying “well the killer depipped” like that means the survivors won? The survivors all died and depipped so they ALSO lost by any possible metric of success. So how is a game in which everybody playing it loses healthy or fun?
Now you're getting the bhvr logic. No one wins.

Pips and bloodpoints are the win condition in this game. If a killer 4ks, but gets 8k points and a depip, he lost. If he gets 30k points, ruthless, and a 1k, he won.

Are there really people who care about whether the other side pips or not?
When you play survivor, it's not a 1v1, it's a 1v4, so if the collective wins, you win, even if you die. That's what so many people dont understand about this game.

Just do bones! I don't see the problem, if you don't do totems you're just being a lazy entitled survivor main.
These are all from the last week, by the way. Every time I've run into NOED it's been in one of these kinds of builds.
Sarcasm aside, could someone give me tips on how to find the time to "just do bones" on a map like Lery's when I'm a solo survivor against an ebony mori and/or face camping killer? Thanks.
That's two depipps, a brutal, and maybe a ruthless. The vast majority of those were losses in every way that matters. So who exactly cares if they were running noed?

Since it roughly corresponds to play time, would it be beneficial to attempt to match players with similar devotion levels? Especially since it doesn't really do anything else right now.
No, and here's why. I've been playing nothing but 2500+ hour survivors since last year, when I only had 100 hours. Because I'm insane and continued to play against those kind, I've reached a killer level on par with them.
If you were to put me against average survivors with my own devotion level, it would be a slaughterhouse. Wouldnt be fun for me or them.

Also this. I'm used to very tight precise loops from survivors and everything nasty you can think of. A lot of console players panic and don't do loops efficiently. Some do, but not a lot.
Sometimes I feel like the farmers insurance commercials.
Toxic 4 man head on squad, seen it, beat it.
Dead hard hook bomb, into down, into adrenaline, into hook grab, into ds, into hook save, into borrowed time. Seen it, beat it.

Why are PC players on dbd so sweaty? Like, I thought us console players were bad but after playing against all these tryhard spirits, nurses and the race car bubbas I'm rethinking that. And jesus the amount of face camping and tunneling is actually UNREAL. And is it just me or do hitboxes just die between PC and console? Like, there are times when there is a whole wall between us or the killer just hits a wall yet it still downs me. And there have been other times that things should have hit but it didn't. Does anyone else care to share their crossplay experience?
Because we've been trained by toxic pc swf. When I play against console guys, I play very relaxed, but not everyone has my sense of honor and sportsmanship.

Yeah, this is becoming more and more common and more annoying. They need to make an egc style bar if gens aren't being advanced after 5 minutes.
