You have ONE bank right?
One business pays these employees.
That's still using resources to support this one side.
Let's say you have 20 people on the dev team.
20 people on the cosmetic team.
Just giving you an example because people Love shutting down arguments with "they're not the same" but the funding is.
You're paying the dev team let's say $150k to develop the new DLC. (projected sales are about 200-250k)
You're paying the Cosmetic team $80-120k to make cosmetics for 3 to 6 months. (projected sales are about 150k-250k)
You're using a ton of resources on the cosmetic team alone instead of funding the balance team, or the coding team.
This is just an example on how it all comes from the same bank, the same source. You're still funding the teams even though they are separate, you're spending resources.
This!! I always keep saying the same and those people trying to shut down others with "not the same team" are so naive

I thought Legendary Skins was just gonna be for like, licensed characters? So that they didn't have to add new perks every time.
I don't see the point of making a regular old cosmetic a legendary / unmixable...? I don't wanna pay for that, hell nah.
Clown is next with legendary skins according to leaksbydaylight

Unlimited (charge-up, non-free directional, easy dodgeable) instadown and good mobility. It's not braindeadly easy to use the instadown you know? Good survivors use windows and tiles in general to keep billy a M1 killer. The nurse nerf was discussable, but billy's nerf is just simply and objectifically not good and balanced.
Yep, with certain tiles and maps you can render Billy to a pure M1 killer. And with majority of the maps you can vault so many windows and tiles in general that you can get him to BL3 before he can back rev chainsaw you. And curving is not only skillful mechanic by itself but also risky since you have to predict where the survivor is going to be while having a dead angle view. Especially with window tiles.

Because a killer with unlimited instadowns on demand and the ability to cross the map back and forth with no cooldown was perfectly balanced right?
You can easily loop Billy. If you can't you bad.

I don't see faster blinds ever coming back.
They're already quite easy to pull off at Pallets, and if you're there when the Killer picks them up and doesn't have a wall, it's not as easy as at Pallets, but definitely not that hard.
Hold on, "easy to pull of af pallets“? What do you mean by that?

I mean the main issue for me is that there can be 4 flashlights at a time, but only 1 killer. If the flashlights were much stronger than they are now we'd just have people using the strongest item more often than not because why wouldn't you? It's a free escape/save.
They're balanced right now because they are high risk/medium reward. If the risk factor goes down at all (i.e., making it easier to blind killers) the equation is thrown off.
4 flashlights means 4 survivors not working on gens, right? I take that as killer any day. It's easier to counterplay a flashlight squad than a genrush squad.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
Were you around when flashlights were more powerful? If not, then you can't comprehend how they needed to be toned down. They literally gave us Franklins Demise because flashlights were so powerful and games were 4 flashlights every other match. Screen would go white so often it was giving killers headaches they evenetually changed the screeen to what we have now. Franklins was only given because survivors were abusing 4 flashlights per match.
Survivors had their fun with flashlights, so much that they added perk, edited blind screens etc,... was abused so devs addressed it. No way they going back on it.
I don't think op suggested to bring back flashlights from 2016 my friend. Just a slight buff to make it more appealing to try and not just to continue holding M1 at gens. I personally wouldn't mind as killer, survivors aren't trying that often anymore and always look at walls. From 100 attempts they make 5 successful saves and nearly all of them were because I didn't expect a flashlight (they found one in a chest) so I played slippery
-
@Izo_Quartz said:
I would have prefered if the perk just disabled the item for a long period and depleted 20% charge per hit, instead of forcing you to drop it or deleting it entirely...
The perk is already strong the way it is now, it doesn't need any kind of buff imo
Same, would also prevent randos taking your stuff.

APPLE mentality. "you don't know what you want and what is good for you. But we know, so let us decide for you"
I mean I get, you can't please everyone. But when they don't even consider opinions of high skilled players with immense game knowledge and which are also very popular and liked on streams then this is just apple (the brand) mentality
-
@coppersly said:
I disagree. It didn't really make it any more toxic, it still does the same thing but now eats the item and shows it to the killer. It's virtually unchanged from those who only ran it to be toxic anyways. They'll still camp the item, so what's the difference if it disappears? Less stuff for randoms to go after and die for imo.
Maybe you are right, it's just what I personally think is going to happen.

I try not to see the Devs as evil people plotting to destroy our fun, but man it can sure feel like that when the only changes you make from PTB are negatives for a killer you're dumping on already.
Here's hoping they actually listen to Billy player feedback and make appropriate changes, but Nurse players aren't exactly holding their breath.
My hopes that the devs listen and revert it (or at least retweak) are veeery low. Like, I think without a massive outbreak and streamer support (especially fog whisperers) I don't think they will listen to any feedback and just push their idea out.
Because look at nurse. So much feedback, tweak ideas etc and not A SINGLE F was given.
-
The devs said themselves Billy is in a great spot, yet they go out of their way to change him to add skill level? But in fact this change does the exact opposite: removes the skill of mindgame loop curving with holding the chainsaw (double engravings for example).
So what's the point of this change? Pissing off people.
And they have the audacity to call it "minimal", this is probably worse than the change itself.
-

The problem is that people like you will go on the PTB, play one or two games with the mentality that billy sucks, and then go on the PTB balance feedback to say that billy sucks, which is not helpful feedback in any sort of way.
Ok because you are sitting right behind me when I do that so that's why know that. Go home.

If billy was a problem because the majority back revved, how is punishing the minority who were skilled and encouraging more back revving going to help?
Besides the fact that this new mechanic is NOT punishing back revving at all. You can still do it. It ONLY punishes them skilled billys doing curves on loops. The upcoming patch is a disaster.
-
MYERS - you can gef tier 3 only 1 time now and after it runs out yo go back to tier 1 and stay there for the rest of the match
WRAITH - he is fine as he is... So lets give him cooldown timer for his power so requires more skill
HUNTRESS - she can only reloud once every 3 minutes. This timer requires more skill to use her.

99% of the time it's the only way to get anything by facecamping with open gates. Just rarely you can get more by leaving.
-
@Zoomies said:
It just boils down to the devs not knowing their own game.
They run on this assumption that the Survivors are weaker because they HAVE to be to balance 4v1. This was their intent.
..Except they're NOT weaker. All the second chance perks, times 4, plus bodyblocking, pallet saves, flashlight saves, hook sabo, AND SWF voice comms means the Survivors are, 100%, the stronger role.
The devs, however, keep making balance changes as if this balance was not flipped sideways years ago. They keep thinking 'This Killer may be too strong in OUR IDEA of the game' instead of 'This Killer is too strong in the REALITY of the game.' And thus 'strong' killers that are actually weak as hell are nerfed. Because the devs can't accept reality.
See also: All the complaints that struggling is PHYSICALLY PAINFUL for some people, and the devs replying with 'But our CONCEPT of the game!'.
They make balance changes based on the fresh players with 5 hrs playtime in Solo Q hiding in bushes and being afraid to touch gens.

Spirit was nerfed after the PTB.
Plague was nerfed after the PTB.
Nurse wasn't changed, they just left her to rot.
Those are the only 3 I can recall at the moment, I'm sure they've messed with more.
Oh nurse got changed. Her cooldown was bugged and was faster than it should be. Despite everyone already saying how bad the cooldown is they gave us the middlefinger and fixed her after the ptb which made her cooldown longer. Insane if you think about it...
-
Oh don't trip, they listen... ONLY when people say "good job devs I like what you did" then they listen and say "thanks, alright we keep it this way".
But critical feedback and asking for changes will get ignored as if they never existed, no matter how reasonable and logical the argumentation is. They don't even discuss it on streams most of the time.
People who say "wait for PTB" are either new, blinded hardcore dbd fanboys or people you could fool more than twice with the same trick.

But nerfing Pop / Infectious nerfs every killer when they're meta (pop) perks.
Maybe I haven't made myself clear with my suggestion. My idea: if infectious and pop is a big issue for only certain killers (Billy and Nurse for example) then make the values of these perks only for these killers different instead of changing the power. U know what I mean? Like reduce the range of infectious Fright when used on billy and reduce the timer of pop because he has the mobility. That's a better approach, what do you think?
-
The main issue I have with penalties is when you get hit by a penalty while you haven't done anything wrong (crash, server hickup, losing connection for a few seconds, being forced to dc because of a bug or hostage situation etc).
-
@Seanzu said:
Billy hasn't been "balanced" for a long time.
Billy is very fun to pla against, but almost every Billy I see now-a-days are running Pop/Infectious and slugging for the 4K, it isn't fun, and it's a symptom of the constant changes making it easier for killers as a whole to play the game.
Maybe the perks are the issue then? Because his basekit at its own is legit fine. And you probably know very well that curve mindgames at loops REQUIRES multiple seconds of chainsaw reving and they took that away now.
They could have handled it differently if pop infectious slugging is the main issue with Billy (variable perk values for individual killers is the first thing coming into my mind).
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
They won't fix anything during the PTB.
The devs have shown us time and time again they're content with the changes they do on paper.
The PTB only shows us what their plan is and almost never changes, if it does, it's for the worse.
Nurse, Ruin, Legion, and now Billy. I'm not a Billy main, I just picked him up 2 weeks ago, but I feel bad for the avid Billy mains out there. =/
Oh yeah I agree with you.
Really bad timing for you to pick Billy now, he is still bugged and the nerf is coming around the corner and you will probably never experience loop mindgame curving for yourself :/
But at least you can watch some montages on youtube from the past, really fun killer and with impressive anti loop potential (skill required).
-
@coppersly said:
RIP every survivor who hates Billy in the coming weeks.
Yeah I agree they definitely under-exaggerate what the changes impact will be. Especially if it's purely a limit/nerf with no other possible new things for the killer.
Oh they will suffer more after the nerf because Billy mains will quit playing killer (longer Q times) or will start maining spirit (and majority hates spirit more than Billy by a long shot). It's a lose lose for survivors aswell, not only for Billy mains
-
@HollowsGrief said:
Billy already requires skill, your post title is enough for me to disregard anything else you say since you very obviously don't have any idea what you are talking about.
Lmao I had the same reaction, reading the title is enough for me to dismiss his opinion. Imagine some says Billy takes no skill. The killer who has so much depth and techniques and takes very long to master his curving and baiting.
-
Depends on how well the servers get improved (especially how much more severs they add) and how harsh the system will be. It can be done well. But we all know that "pretty good job" meme so it's most likely going to end up terrible for at least 1 year.
-
@SpaceCoconut said:
Reminder that the post also says "Please keep in mind that numbers are not everything; there are a whole bunch of factors that could influence these numbers."
Also according to those stats, Ghost and Pig have similar kill rates in NOVEMBER of 2019
Also you should edit-add this important reminder since you are first comment: I think devs changed the rank reset system at that time already. Which means red ranks was already overfilled with every single potato survivor. So having a high kill rate is pretty much meaningless.

This is a huge NO. This means that the killer will always catch a survivor on a loop, even if the killer doesn’t deserve to.
This interferes with Deep Wound too, it would make Legion unstoppable.
For reference, Survivors move at 4 m/s, while walking I believe they move 3.8m/s or less, which is the same as Nurse. Nurse would not be punished for not using her power.
If the survivors couldn’t Sprint, that would also mean that they couldn’t perform medium or fast vaults, which also means that they can get grabbed even if they are healthy while slow vaulting.
Everything about this idea is no.
Obviously this is not a real suggestion but trying to showcase how stupid the devs are with the Billy Nerf.

Everybody is complaining about the changes made to his base kit (that we have yet to test out), but nobody is applauding the fact his add-ons are finally getting the overhaul they needed and he is finally getting his own ultra-rare add-ons.
Idc about ultra rare or not. Just take the avaliable addons and put on some red colours if it makes you happy.

Insta chainsaw is still the most busted thing in this game and as a survivor you couldn't even do 1 loop against a sweaty tryhard P3 russian billy because with the power of dedicated servers they insta down you around every corner.
Engravings are most of the time stronger at loop curbing. You probably were to greedy with pallets if you get curved on without engravings.

post containing video evidence to the contrary.
Even if Billys do feather the chainsaw to camp as one of their uses, removing that at the cost of the high skill portion of his kit (demonstrated in the video's in the thread I linked) simply isn't worth it.
Exactly. The good (curving skills) outweighs the bad (rev camping)
