Why isn't the community allowed to decide on their own if they want major nerfs or buffs?
I was thinking about it and DBD isn't in the same realm of other competitive games. Vocal people on forums always talk about how the game isn't balanced around the top players, shouldn't be balanced around the top players, and I've never seen any indication from the devs that said otherwise either. Normally competitive games focus on the highest level of play and balance from there, that's why the general population of players who hang out on the vocal community forums like reddit, boards, ect. are "ignored", among other reasons.
Their word doesn't have weight.
But that's different here. If we're not listening to the best players and just focusing on everyone as a whole then why is it that the balance decisions are still so one sided? Why can't the community be given the option to decide for themselves? Obviously written posts can't be counted for much. No matter what, forums are still going to be the minority of the playerbase. Not everyone visits forums or have the inclination to weigh in. What about a poll though? Something built directly into the in-game client that's connected to unique profiles on console and steam. If the voting options are built directly in then there's basically no way they wouldn't see them. Then allow people to decide for themselves. Nerf, don't nerf, ect.

Because the community all pull in different directions and as its multi player with multi characters with multi perks it would never be successful. Every one person who is pleased another is disappointed
APPLE mentality. "you don't know what you want and what is good for you. But we know, so let us decide for you"
I mean I get, you can't please everyone. But when they don't even consider opinions of high skilled players with immense game knowledge and which are also very popular and liked on streams then this is just apple (the brand) mentality
Well to be quite honestly there isn't any other competitive asymmetrical pvp game. The only one that came close to "competitive balance" was Evolve Stage 2 and we see how that went.
I'm concerned that DBD and BHVR are following in that games footsteps, and while the overall population of the game has grown since March for obvious reasons, I'm concerned about when that wears out.
Recently the dev team had made changes to pallets and looping, specifically god loops. Which was a great change. I agree the game should be balanced to the top level of play, but unfortunately the most vocal portion of the community by a landslide is survivors simply due to the asymmetrical nature of the game.
Is that not the same with ever OS? And every franchise? RE? MGS? COD? players can have their say but at the end of the day the developers are gonna do what they think is best for game progression
