  • Survivor escapes: keeps his item and addon

    Killer 4ks: keeps his addons

  • @Peanits any words from you or the team about this? I see this topic coming on everytime but never catched a statement from bhvr about this. It's really something noone really enjoys and changing it would make many players very happy

  • Let survivors do this like killers slugging for full 4 minutes just because they can.

    Wake up, (hooking a survivor) takes more time and DC takes about 2 secs. Those valuable seconds hooking someone give your team more time to do GENS. *surprised pikachuface*

    Pop goes the weasel exists. Bbq exists.

  • This is a stupid example. You would have a great point if he used idk Billy with meta perks and his strongest addon, eventually mori aswell. Then the video would look different. But here he used freaking Bubba!! With speedlimiter! With basically 0 perks! And STILL 4ked at the end! Imo he shouldn't even get 4 kills with this ######### build. This video is actually backfiring killers, it shows that even with a garbage killer and garbage loadout u can still destroy survivors with meta perks.

    Sorry, but this system is necessary to keep people from intentionally disconnecting when they aren’t having the kind of game they want to have. Because those disconnectors are ruining the game for other people.

    If you get disconnected once in a while, you’re not gonna have that penalty often, and let’s face it five minutes is nothing considering the queue times we often face anyway.

    And if your Internet connection is bad enough you have to worry about disconnects all the time, you’re hurting other players anyway, you’re fun shouldn’t come at penalizing other people.

    Wake up, they just suicide instead *suprised pikachuface*

  • This challenge made me play like a dick. I dominated the survivors, and when 2 were left I was "farming" with them. Once all gens were done I knocked down both, opened gate and killed them.

    Moonwalking doesn't say Horror Video Game to me. It's just a workaround for a flaw in the game design.

    It's a game ffs. Fun and balance is more important than "feeling the horror".

    How about adding a blue stain for survivors? You know, to increase the skill cap and to not make the game easy for baby survs? Think of the extra mind games that would become possible.

    This makes 0 sense.

  • Why removing it when skilled players can use the red stain to their advantage? Makes it just easier for baby killers and removes a skillcap. No thanks, red stain must stay forever.

  • Stupid team mates. Always tilting to have potatoes in red ranks

  • True, but maybe they could add pre entered texts and all you have to do is pressing a certain combo to sent the message. Idk, for example R2+R1+square -> "killer on me"

    It's so simple for a way to buff solo survivors to be almost as good as SWF. Just make Kindred basekit and one of the biggest issues with the game will be solved, but noooo, us solos have to spend a perkslot to get what SWF gets for free. I know it's a huge to give that much information of if the killer is camping and where the other survivors are as basekit, but think about. SWF get to know that without having to use a perkslot.

    Other than that, they need to give some kind of symbol for someone getting chased, like the obsession.

    That's two huge buffs to solo survivors that'd help a lot, then they should buff killers accordingly. But instead they are makin perks that gives solo survivors information that SWF already gets to have without spending a perkslot on it.

    Though, I'm not blind and know when the devs have been designing new killers, they've had in mind balancing it around solo and SWF. Like how someone works on a Demo trap, everyone can see it and anyone can kick GF out of stealth, even on hook. They just need to go back on their older mechanics and buffs solo surv there as well, start out with making Kindred basekit.

    It's actually very simple, this is what I would have done:

    Kindred basekit: noone wastes time running to a hook when the killer is camping or someone else is closer

    Totem counter: noone wastes time trying to find the "last dull totem" when it already got cleansed by someone else

    Chase indicator: well, obviously more efficient on gens

    Ofc, this will make killer games much harder against solos. But that's not a problem, because this allows actually to buff killers. My 1St step of buffing killers would be to finally introduce a second must do objective for survivors which gives killers more time.

  • @Irisora said:

    Well imagine what would happen in DBD if all solo survivors were like playing against full SWF teams... I think only masochist would play killer then.

    I play solo and i can say that in ranks 10-20 you get matchmaked with people that have little idea of how to play and it can be difficult sometimes but that doesn't deprive me from reaching violet and red ranks.

    When one reach those ranks you get more competent teammates and it's a whole different game.

    Competent team mates in red ranks? Are we playing the same game??

  • @finitethrills said:

    BHVR's pigheaded insistence to not add voice comms for all will ensure that gap never closes. Nothing else will ever come close to the power of the info exchange. The easiest and biggest tool for balancing the game as a whole. The game was never meant to have it, but swf makes it impossible not to. The day swf went in, they should've added full voice comms and then balanced for it instead of trying to pretend noone would get an advantage from it. Hell, even playing casually and joking with friends, you still pass on a ton of info without even realizing it.

    That's not the goal in the first place. Noone with a clear mind wants solo on the EXACT level like swf. All we want is the gap being smaller.

  • Freddy, spirit, Ghostface

  • Since the new adept mechanic (2 pips instead of just 4k) I stopped trying. The onky time I tried was with Plague right after rank reset. Never again, screw this.

  • Devs have no clue about their game. That's why we see those stupid challenges coming back.

  • @xllxENIGMAxllx said:

    Things you have to play a lot of hours to see them. pretty much like a god tier Billy/nurse, Those survivors do gens in 3-5m while pallets are barely used. I wish you never met those on haddonfield/crotus prenn or rotten field you gonna have a bad time. Flickbilly don't scare them and mori won't stop them from winning.

    The good thing is that they are very rare if all survivors were like that the dark times would be back. All i can assure is that there are not a myth they do exist but you got what... 1% chance to meet them.

    It's why the current system (ranking) is bad because red ranks is mixed with good/bad survivors. A skill based matchmaking is what we need. So the game can have new players without being killed by a Esport-like skill player. Balance-wise devs will be able to balance things right without getting hillbilly OP thread for example.

    Yeah, they are rare but they exist. And they will show you all the power survivors can have. Massive difference between 4 random and a coordinated swf group. Hell, even 4 experienced and strong solos are nowhere near as deadly as 4 experienced and strong players in swf on coms. This is next level hellfire.

    If I would duplicate myself enough times to make a 4 men swf group we would SLAUGHTER killers left and right. The game would be over before it even began. Looping for 2 minutes, 1 pallet used, 3 gens done. After 4 minutes we all escape.

  • The MMR score should NOT be hidden. At least not yours for yourself.

  • I see noed on oni nowadays.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    It's apparently bugged atm and not supposed to look like that. Changing graphics setting to high if you are able too sometimes helps.

    I wish I could do that, but I'm already struggling with the fps on low with the current version if dbd :/

  • @ZoneDymo said:

    it seems the PTB specifically always messes this up, it should be fine when it actually comes out.

    Also I would not disable AA entirely but rather fix it somewhat:

    [/Script/Engine.RendererOverrideSettings]

    r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=False

    r.DefaultFeature.LensFlare=False

    r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=2

    r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.2

    r.TemporalAASamples=64

    r.TemporalAASharpness=0.6

    r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1.3

    r.PostProcessAAQuality=4

    Why fixing it instead of removing it? Is there a benefit in visuals or performance?

    If you could grab us a short clip of this happening, I will definitely raise a flag with the team. We don't want to punish someone for an error.

    Today I played against a Bubba. He camped last guy. Suddenly, he DCed. I asked him if that was on purpose. He said no, game crashed and he is now sitting on a 30 Minutes penalty.

    Seriously, this system can't work with all the bugs this game has. You guys are punishing the normal players more than the ones who are actually destroying the match on purpose because those who constantly rage quitted before the time penalty are now just suiciding on AFKing.

  • If Hillbilly becomes 110 I'm out of playing killer. I will just main survivor till I'm bored and stop playing at all. Hillbilly is already really good beatable. Make him weaker and he can't stand a chance

  • I hope not, otherwise they don't understand which loops are to strong and which ones are already balanced.

    Anyone who thinks killer shack is to strong/weak is just bad.

  • @I_Face_Camp said:

    Sounds like a good killer buff. No complaints from me at this point. We will have to see how it plays out

    A killer buff on first sight, but probably a nerf. Loops will buffed to justify breakable walls. But then you are forced to break them as killer asap. So now, you not only have to deal with breaking pallets but also breaking walls. Yeah, I can't see how this will end up good for killers or survivors.

  • @GHOSTfaceP3 said:

    No more god loops for you

    Ok? U do relize that the devs have to make some loops strong stronger to compensate the new mechanic. Which means as killer you are forced to break walls. And if that takes long, it might be even worse.

  • This is one thing I really hate and it really pisses me off how bhvr persists on not changing it already. So annoying and unprofessionell.

    Comon, if you really dc'd because of a acceptable reason, the penalty should not really care someone.

    To reboot your pc + open steam again + open dbd again its already 1-5 minutes depending on your system. If you dc because of rl reasons - who cares there about 5 minutes?

    You hang anyways on your phone, move to a friend or vise verca and so on for more as 5 minutes and I could go on with the reasoning for that.

    The time for the first penalty is ok, if you have not dc on purpose and in this case, the most people deserve it imo^^.

    Why should I reboot my pc in the first place?

  • @iBetClaudette said:

    Wow...before dc penalties it was "Devs need to do something about dcs". Now it's "It's too harsh". So what do you people want?

    I already told what I want. Start reading already.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

    Why be inconvenienced at all? Should be 1 second for first DC. It's not like you are inconveniencing 4 other players by DC'ing. Oh wait.... you ARE inconveniencing 4 other players! That's 4 other players that will get less value from their add ons, offerings and most importantly time. If the average game is 10 minutes long then you are costing 40 minutes worth of inconvenience by DC'ing. Therefore you should get 40 minute ban for first DC and add 40 minutes for each DC after that. Consider yourself getting off easy with 5 minutes.

    So many logical fallacies, nearly died.

  • Out of the sudden? It was a complaint since 2016, no clue where u get that "out of the sudden" vibe

  • This is the known infinite bug. This bug will keep you in the match forever, unless you dc. Even EGC won't finish the match.

    But hey, let's punish players who are forced to dc because the incompetence of the coders amaright?

  • Other toxic side effect: killer bodyblocking survivors and say in endgame chat "enjoy the penalty" after DCing when trapped for 10+ minutes.

  • @xJOELx209 said:

    I have the simplest solution guys....... don’t DC Ik it sounds crazy but it’s a really effective idea to not get DC bans. Just take the loss and move on don’t get upset because you lost, learn from them.

    Sometimes you are forced to dc. Or your game Crashes.

  • Survivors don't leave ->"but ban survivors teabagging at exit gates, or make them insta down with mori"

    Survivors instantly leave -> crying aswell.

    What are survivors supposed to do now? Tell me exactly the steps so I can follow them and fully satisfy you.

  • @Mert_MK said:

    No.

    If i see teammates crouching at the corner of the map and not do gens at all after a long chase, i'm not going to stay in that match.

    This!! So much this!!

    It doesn't even happen rarely nowadays. Red ranks. I give Billy the chase of his life, running him for 3+ minutes and being super greedy with the pallet resources. I get downed. 0 gens popped. 1 crouching around, other one going into locker, third one searching box in the basement. Oh hell no, not even 10 horses will let me stay in that match. I'm out, enjoy the rest of the match u useless potatoes.

  • @Mandy said:

    I think NOED is completely fair as it is, it's easy to remove from the game by getting all the totems and if the killer is camping one person then there's plenty of time to do that.

    In swf on coms I agree. Solo q is a different story, and u know it.

  • Ex nurse main here. Haven't touched her again since this stupid rework. Not worth it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/130038/5-minutes-is-to-much

    I feel like the first couple of DCs should be quick while excessive DCing are more punishing.

    Here's what I'd with the DC penalties

    1. DC: Warning, get a message about the consequences of DCing.
    2. DC: 1 Minute
    3. DC: 5 Minutes
    4. DC: 15 Minutes
    5. DC: 30 Minutes
    6. DC: 60 Minutes
    7. DC: 2 Hours
    8. DC: 4 Hours
    9. DC: 8 Hours
    10. DC: DC Ban

    Escalation will reset after two conditions:

    • Play 5 full games (either side) without leaving early.
    • 24 hours have passed since the last DC.

    That's sounds better because it covers things like gamebreaking bugs or a killer taking hostage by bodyblocking etc.

    Also, what do you mean with with 10. DC ban? Permanent ban?

  • @Frankie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/130038/5-minutes-is-to-much

    Or, you could just not DC.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1095653#Comment_1095653

    No. You agreed to their end user license agreement when you started playing the. You are not allowed to "do whatever you want".

    Stop DCing, and the penalties won't be an issue.

    Well if the game had no gamebreaking bugs u would had a point. But the game has bugs forcing you to dc.

  • @Talmeer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1095680#Comment_1095680

    Well I had to dc because of EGC bug, it annoys me a lot to wait 5 min because of ######### Spagetti code

  • @Huntar said:

    Anything less, and you wouldn't even see the ban before you were able to boot the game again after a crash. This was an issue the devs were seeing during the initial test. People would have repeated crashes and DCs, and not even know they had been punished until suddenly they had a 30 minute timeout. I don't know about them, but this doesn't seem fair to me. I think people should be aware they were punished the first time it happens.

    I'm just talking about the 1st DC. 2nd etc can stay high

  • @Peanits said:

    We do have a quick update for you: The issue we ran into before has been resolved and we're looking to send those cosmetics out to the people who earned them soon (hopefully within the next couple of days if all goes well).
