Yeah, I dont know what exactly they were thinking. The thing is, they said they will look at the Deadzones in a future Update. But this is just stupid, sorry to say it like this. Either there is a full, complete Update or no Update. But releasing an Update with a lot of Deadzones and then, some time in the future (nobody knows when), there will be something done about the Deadzones.
I mean, I am totally fine with removing a Loop from the Thompsons House (2 Pallets there is still really good), also it is fine to change the Structures next to it (those where possible to spawn two Jungle Gyms or a Jungle Gym and a Long Wall). But replacing this with "nothing" is not good. At least T/L-Walls should have been placed there, those are probably the Tiles which are most fair.
Even Z walls would be at least something lol. But nope z walls are clearly OP, just 360 the killer in the open multiple times till gens pop 4head

I don't need evidence to have an opinion just like you don't need it to have yours. Regardless, you did miss the point point of the comment, which is "And i'm actually pretty sure that this is not the reason OP and a few other people on here mess with the files. People have been complaining forever, just less because there was a fix; no game should force someone to go into its engine files to make it playable for them.
I remember doing this only to very very old games like cod 1 to get a different aspect ratio (but it still tons of options tho) because newer titles have already everything in the options
-

I wish the game would have more graphics options like every other game, dbd has like only 2 of them...

Well, with AA on i have around 80-90 fps, with AA off i play with 100-105. A lot of fps actually.
And Now imagine how impactful this is on low end PCs. My 60 fps are gone now. I play with 40 fps at best with this forced AA and vsync. Absolutly disgusting. Besides the blurry vision which makes it even worse

U mother trucker! That's illegal! Ban this guy now

I don't even know what's hard to understand for the devs team...
Players can"t play the game because :
-FPS drop is insanly huge
-AA is destroying people's brain and eyes
In addition apparently survivors now just spread on different gens and you cannot apply pressure as a killer on 3 different gens while chasing someone .
Am i from Mars or something or is it hard to understand and correct?
"am I from Mars or something"
Lol I ask this myself very often, so simple stuff yet after 3 years still to complex for them apparently.

Another impatient person, isn't it?
You guys want everything to be added, nurfed and buffed but you can't understand there's a list. The devs can't just add things up like that. Also, have you tried making everything you listed? From the small experience I have with coding I can tell you that you don't press one button and you're finished. I would speculate it would take em, for everything you listed, at least 1 month of work or more, and since they are working from home I would speculate 2 months.
Since you love to complain do them yourself, now that you obviously have free time.
What do you meeaaan with impatient? I waited over 3 years how much longer do I have to wait??

@Peanits @not_Queen @PatBrutal @McLean @mcote why are you guys dodging this question for 4 years now? This isn't something we costumers wanted just recently. HamletEagle basically answered it, but it's to prevent malicious modification of the ini files to gain an advantage. Unfortunately that means that other harmless tweaks, like disabling anti aliasing, are also disabled. It's not just to spite the people who prefer playing without anti aliasing.
So, why can't we disable AA and vsync ect ingame if it's not to spite the people?
But as usual, bhvr is going to dodge this question like all the other important and legit ones

But in all seriousness, what happens to the Killer who hooks someone next to their three gen? Ive had games like that where I hook them dead center in my three gens, under this nerf now Im getting punished for defending my gens to prevent a possible escape.
Also 48 is WAY to much. Depending on the size of the map, that means a Killer would be considered "camping" if they were within 1/4th of the map.
If you got such a 3 gen setup you already got all cards in your favour. 50% ain't making you lose anymore.

He requires no skill, his snares are pretty much just mindless loop enders. He gets free map pressure with his teleport so you don't really need to be efficient in your objective management. He's probably the easiest killer to win with.

I have been right up against the wall and still got blinded. The angle on the odd bulb is insane.
Odd bulb doesn't change the angle. The onky thing which affects the angle is shadowborn (and maybe monitor and abuse). I'm pretty sure you weren't close enough or at the edge with the face still not fully covered.
-
@Dwinchester said:
Close the forum, this man just said it all. The only thing I would add comes in on flashlights. Skill is one thing, but its absolutely unacceptable for a killer to be blinded by something he can't even see. On numerous occasions, I've been blinded while staring at a wall.
Just staring at a wall is not enough, you need to be close at a wall aswell.

There is no way you get morid 60% of the time. I am a rank 1 survivor and I haven't seen a mori in weeks. Killers never run them because they depip or black pip and most killers like me have an honour code where we just don't run them.
Just because YOU don't encounter this doesn't mean it does not happen to others. It's like saying "moris are doesn't exist because I never encountered them. Probably just a myth. Same with the existence of toxic players".
-
You leave bloodtrails. You moan, unless u waste a perkslot for iron will. You are one hit away to get downed. Killer can use perks to use survivors being injured even more to his advantage Yet it's not enough?? Ok.

I remember I was playing a game on Bedham (preschool), i was in the school basement doing a gen, there was like a drop right beside me, so anyone could drop down. Unfortunately for me, Pig happened to drop down (after she was sneaking around so I didn't even hear a terror radius), and because of her hitbox, i initially thought it was a survivor until i heard the roar and i started to run for my life as she lunged at me lol - this was all at the start too so no one knew who the killer was. I generally have terrible luck of spawning right next to stealth killers and having to find out the hard way who the killer is and letting my team know as i get smacked.
This is my exact point. People are using the no LOS as a killer disadvantage but it's literally an advantage as the killer can follow scratches. It's so easy to track a survivor on the map - especially since most gens are also placed right by doorways which is a gift wrapped nicely for the killer to grab you off the gen as you don't know what floor they're even on most of the game.
Also that shower room? yeah, that's a death trap, you have killer walk in, then you need to hope that you manage to 360 them in the tight space and run out, or if they drop down from the hole, then you better hope that they don't catch you quickly enough before you get to a safer area in the map.
One 360 isn't enough lol, the killer recovers to fast from missed swing. Need more like two 360s and then the pallet still being up

They're not because they effectively affect the whole game.
One of the biggest problems this game has is the grinding for things.
If pipping/score/bloodpoints weren't part of what it means to have a victory/good game, then they wouldn't have them in the game. They wouldn't use them to dictate what are good/bad actions, eg. camping reducing your score as killer.
When you go into the match, you're looking for a good game where you can max out everything or get it close to maxed out as humanly possible for the player.
I can't get to escaping UNLESS i do generators, but the fact that i complete generators doesn't mean I will get to escape. Killers don't have to hook a survivor more than once to get the kill, if no one comes to save, then the survivor is dead. The killer is essentially actively killing throughout the game.
Objective and points are 2 different things. If you can't see that then there is no point to continue.
-
@SmarulKusia said:
I just want to get this straight...
Meat Plant, easily one of the most killer-sided maps that is possibly most hated and complained about because of:
- How ridiculously small the map is where 80% of the game is spent in killer’s terror radius and not knowing if the killer is on the same floor as you.
- There are essentially no safe loops or pallets on this map
- Very few vaults
- Gens are in a very awkward place
Yet you decide that the best thing to do for the maps is to make them smaller and remove loops..
Despite one of the issues of doing objective is getting stuck in a 3-gen situation where killer can easily monitor all three gens that are in a close proximity of each other - despite that being the objective for the survivor. This is already an issue in the “big maps that take ages to walk across”.
if you’re going to make these spaces smaller and removing loops then ATLEAST fix the issue of getting hit through a vault, and nerf gen specific perks for killers. ESPECIALLY since gen rushing is being nerfed for survivors again
My biggest issue is that indoor maps like meat plant have no Los. Nearly every killer can suddenly pop out around a corner like a stealth killer. Besides the fact that stealth killers like GF have the easiest match on those maps

Killing Survivors = high scores, big amount of bloodpoints, pip
Just Escaping = low scores, low blood points, and depip
Survivors don't have to escape to get a good match and essentially win by pipping and getting a large amount of bloodpoints. I don't know what survivor considers an escape with low score, depip and little to no blood points a victory lol. That's why '99-ing' the gate is a popular strategy and survivors usually will try to rescue unless pressured out by killer.
The objectivr is killing and surviving, period. The points are a different subject.
-
@SmarulKusia said:
I often see Killer Mains make the argument of, “if survivors can have keys! Then killers can have Moris!”
but those two aren’t comparable like at all. Killing survivors is the killers objective - that is a fact, as killer, you’re hoping to kill all the survivors in the game. As survivor, your objective is to do gens.
Keys are highly situational to begin with - you’re not even guaranteed to get to a stage where hatch spawns for the player to use the key. A mori - whilst admittedly needing to be “unlocked”, is far quicker to use within a match than a hatch is. You can get a mori kill before 2 gens are done.
Keys aren’t even commonly ran by survivors - in my hundred of games as survivor, I’ve only escaped using a key probably 5 or so times. As a killer - in my hundreds of games, I’ve only ran into two games where a key was actually used in game.
Moris can be achieved in-game quicker and end the game quicker - they don’t take up a necessary spot in the kit as they come as an offering. With a key, you have to wait till end-game essentially to use the item, which is a part of the game that you’re not even guaranteed to reach - on top of the fact that it takes up an item slot.
these are not comparable at all. I hate seeing the argument that they are when they’re blatantly not
The objective of killers is to kill and survivors to survive (aka escape).

Because everyone pretends totems are also part of the survivor objective when they're not.
They're completely optional, if they were part of the survivor objective then the killer would be at an advantage because that adds a SECOND objective on the survivor roster so it tilts the scales.
This is what I don't understand about killers when they say that totems are a second objective, and that's a straight up LIE.
But how can something optional be so impactful? Seems to me quite unbalanced or wrongly termed.
-
Play apex and you will see what horrible matchmaking is lol

Some of these comments justifying DCing are great, the "playing plague is toxic" is my personal favourite so far but I'm optimistic about the possibility of reading something even more idiotic.
I don't like slugging for 4k but you generally have to get all 4 as plague if you want anything more than a black pip, so there's that.
Again and again and again: what's the point of pipping? Why the F do people care about this meaningless ranking system? Is it going to give you better players in the lobby? Not really. Is there a reward at the end like other game? No nothing. Are lobby times better in higher ranks? Nope its worse.
-
This isnt ideal but not that bad. Other games are much worse. This game doesn't have a high skill cap but compare this with a game like apex legends. You can be just level 10 (3 hrs playtime) and can verse full sweaty squads with multiple thousands of hours every lobby. That's some insane disbalance. Compared to that DbD looks pretty fine

I was also in the stream, alot of the games he won he was using leatherface. As for the last game, one 1 died. He COULD have hooked another survivor but he let the nancy escape because he felt he already lost considering 2 already left through the gate. In that game DS saved 1 survivor and it snowballed. He never once said NOED needs to be changed, people were giving him ideas of how it COULD be changed and he heard them out and liked a few. There were a few games where they broke all the totems and still died. Which is what NOED can be used for, its another way to slow the game down. Just like Ruin, it slows the game down, if you dont like it then find the totem. I play killer and survivor, and as killer the times i ran NOED, survivors only cleansed 1 or 2 totems and i still got a 3 or 4k. I never even needed it. NOED can support killers who cant kill effectively, yes BUT it can also be used to slow down the gens being repaired quickly.
If 4 survivors load in with the intention of "He probably has NOED lets all do totems" then no duh they're going to suffer casualties. That is the point of a perk. Survivors are suppose to be able to do Gens AND totems, its literally another objective and you're even rewarded for doing it.
If Survivors can change the tide of a game with DS, Unbreakable, BT, Adrenaline, and so on and so forth. Why cant NOED?
If survivors are supposed to do gens AND totems every match then why is there still no totem counter in the HUD for solos?
-
@coppersly said:
TBH until they change the objective and make it actually take brainpower and therefor more time, we need something to counter 3 minute games.
I don't use NOED myself as a Nurse main, but I get why it needs to be in the game right now. It's the only chance some killers get if they go against meta teams from bad matchmaking.
I personally don't see why noed needs to be in the game. Since the release of dbd I never saw the need of noed. Do I use it? Yeah, when a new killer gets released and I have literally no better perks I will take it. But I don't even use NOED on clown. Are games hard and fast? Yes they are. But at the end I win 90% of the games and I'm totally fine with that.
-
I said it multiple times: noed + early 1st hook camping is a guaranteed with against solos. The time alone of CHECKING the hook to realise the killer is camping AND THEN going back to the gens is already to much time wasted. The game is lost at that point. And this isn't done by just one survivor but all 3 solo survivors in the team. This is why we need showing the killer aura when camping for everyone for free.
And besides all of that don't dare anyone saying "jUsT cLeaNsE bOnEs" to a solo team. Cleansing dull totems to avoid noed in solo Q is the biggest W for the killer, no matter what he does.
-
@Lucian said:
Killer gameplay is a bit more stressful and less rewarding than survivor. It's easier to feel a defined sense of objectives as a survivor, especially when you pip so easily.
As a killer you depip easily, especially if you kill the survivors too fast.
Pip is definetly not the main reason lol, imagine some cares about pips. What is this useless mechanic doing? Exactly, nothing.

I don't think we have enough players for multiple modes.
Besides that, the upcoming new matchmaking system will have hidden ranks, so we won't be able to tell which ranks our opponents and teammates have anyway.
Other games with round about the same playerbase have multiple modes and are doing absolutly fine. Hell, I even remember the old ps3 days when bo2 was in its dying state. 2k players at best. Over 15 modes, every mode was still playable with instant lobbys. Dbd will do fine. It's just a lazy excuse from the devs.
