im a rank 5 survivor I play against red rank killers all the time. I play solo though and I don’t see myself making it out 75% of the time. I think the high mobility killers like billy and spirit... even legion if he’s built right are just too much. I firmly believe this game killers do not need one hit downs handed to them like this game does. They should have to work harder for it. Billy can rev his chainsaw up too fast and recover really quickly. It’s just way harder to play on some of these smaller maps. Gens need to be spread out more and cover needs to be better. Paper thin walls, vaults inside of walls that are like 2 feet wide in either direction. Crappy hit detection as I’m getting blasted by the killer after I’ve Vaulted and taken a few steps already the killer has impeccable melee range. It’s like they can lunge through the vaults. Not everyone is a pro looper and for that everyone suffers? Nah, that’s just not fun imo. Some killers seem more balanced than others. Idk if it’s necessary for killers like ghost face to be sprinting and pummeling survivors at the same time. Or legion. Every time I SEE legion he’s going so fast he’s sprinting past me. I just don’t think killer speed needs to be that fast. You got huntress running around with 3 one shot iridescent when paired with infantry belt. You got billy flying across the map over and over. Spirit too. And you got newbies in here crying about survivors having so many chances? Okay can they make it so killers have a harder time finding people then or go down to nonsense?
Did you mean to reply to me? Because I feel like you didn't read what I wrote at all. I didn't ask anyone how their experience at rank 5 as a survivor is. I said get to rank 1 as killer without using your best 5 killers and tell me how balanced the game is. You simply can not gauge killer's balance from the survivor perspective. You are only getting a small view of the actual game.

If I wanted I could, I've never had an issue playing killer, my problem is it gets boring playing for 3 hours getting 4k's every match, its stale for the killer after a couple matches honestly
You aren't comprehending what I'm saying. Even if you've been rank 1 killer in the past the experience is different today. There is no substitute for the actual experience of working your way to rank 1 as a killer. The easy 4k's you enjoy at first won't last. You simply can not make the argument that killers are balanced until you've experienced what it is like at the higher end of the game as a killer. You can't even make that argument if you only play as a couple of killers. You have to experience it with a wide variety of killers to see the problem.
-
How is this so confusing? Bloodrush is 1.5 times whatever bloodpoints you would have earned. This is a multiple from the base amount earned. Let's take the hypothetical game where you are playing killer, use BBQ perk and burn survivor pudding offering. You earn 30,000 base bloodpoints in the game.
30,000 base +
30,000 BBQ 4 tokens +
30,000 Survivor Pudding +
15,000 Bloodrush bonus =
105,000 Bloodpoints.
Same game without an offering or BBQ bonus would result in 45,000 bloodpoints earned. 30,000 x 1.5 Bloodrush = 45,000 bloodpoints.
-
He reported you and you immediately got banned right?
-
Shape is pretty popular among both killers and survivors. Demogorgon seems to be a favorite for survivors but is less popular among killers.

How so? I cant think of a killer, that if played correctly, that needs a buff
Work your way up to rank 1 as a killer without using what you feel is your top 5 killers. Then come back and let us all know how balanced killers are.

I just play injured until I’m hooked, and then the unhooker usually heals me. Otherwise I just use an aura reading perk to find someone since I always run either Bond or Kindred.
Honestly, you are better off with self care instead of aura reading perks. You can make a good argument that aura reading has other benefits besides healing which is true. But in terms of just healing, self care is better. If you have another player heal you then you are spending time moving around the map to get to them and also it is wasting two players time not being on gens instead of one. It's overall more efficient to just heal yourself.
-
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that when Behaviour is ready to announce when the next patch is and what will be in it, they will.
-
I think open handed is fine where it is. It's not meta nor should it be. But it does have it's place in the world. Don't forget that the player bringing the perk isn't the only one benefiting from it. All the survivors aura reading is increased. If it was self only buff then I would be inclined to agree. I would even say that as long as it isn't the killer's aura that it could be unlimited range without issue. If you want to give up 2 perks slots for unlimited range bond then I'd be good with it.
-
Whatever dude.

As stated, a lot of people including the devs stated that the goal is 2 kills and 2 escapes. But according to the emblem system, 2 kills does not equal a pip. Its either a depip or a black pip. And also how come the emblem system is so biased? For survivors, you don't even need to escape, just do the generators and basically "chase the killer". You will pip, but for killers i can kill everyone really fast and still depip. So what exactly is the objective for killer? Is it to be looped like a dummy and then kill? Or should i just open the gates for the survivors? Because the only way im pipping is if the survivors mess around and not do generators
This isn't actually true. You don't even have to kill a single survivor to pip (depending on current rank). There are 3 categories of emblems. Only one actually requires sacrificing survivors. If you get iridescent on the other 3 then it will result in a pip. Gaining rank has little to do with killing actually.

Multiple game modes necessarily impacts queue time.
I've been advocating this for a long time. There is a way to do it where it will positively impact game queue times. Introduce alternate game modes on weekends and rotate them so only one is active at a time. This will increase the active player base wanting to check out the new thing on a regular basis without fragmenting the player base. This is a model that has been successfully done across a number of games. Eventually, you might hit on a game mode that is so popular that it can be made permanent as it will have it's own devoted following.
-
No. It's not valid. It's not even the same game as when he conducted his experiment. I would love for a group of survivors to step forward and give it a go though. I'd be interested in the results. But this is the kind of thing that needs to be done on a regular basis for it to have any merit. Think about all the things that have changed. The very metric for whether a killer pips has changed!
-
To be clear here, you were harassing the killer. Not in the "you deserve to banned" kind of way. But in the sense of the definition of harassment.
noun
- aggressive pressure or intimidation.
What purpose did your comments serve other than to pressure the killer into playing the way you want them to? The killer wanted to play a normal game and is entitled to do so. If it was me then I would probably have clowned around a bit and got some bloodpoints then killed all of you. Maybe another killer would have got a good chuckle out of it and let you all escape. But survivors don't get to dictate how killers play the game.
-
You know, if you just had your chat hidden/blocked then you would have never seen the "threat" and could have gone on in blissful ignorance. But call the police or whatever if it helps you sleep at night.
-
Her add ons aren't bad. There are better uses of dev time.
-
What is this thread? Seriously. "I stopped playing last December but I watched a few videos and I just wanted to swing by and let you know I'm glad I quit." If you don't actually play the game then your opinion doesn't mean much. But uh.. thanks for the update?

Not by a long shot. That title belongs to Darkness Among Us like others have said.
Legion was fundamentally broken from the beginning and is now a lackluster killer than is still annoying to go against but isn’t a threat at all. It’s like old Doctor...a pain in the ass but no threat.
Jeff isn’t even played often but has decent perks. Breakdown is great for sabo builds, Aftercare is decent for solo, and Distortion is decent as well. Jeff is just...there. Sadly he is the best thing from this chapter.
Ormond is a terrible map for killer. It’s one of the worst. Aesthetically they nailed it, but gameplay wise it’s torture to play on.
If I could delete one chapter from the game it is Darkness Among Us. It was an abysmal chapter that introduced a broken killer, a lackluster survivor, and a terrible map.
Dude, don't hate on fat Jesus. Nothing "lackluster" about him.
-
I would play more when challenges were available. But average would probably be 2-3.
-
The challenge is pretty doable. I'm sorry you are struggling with it. Borrowed Time and Empathy are musts as has already been mentioned. I would drop the Kindred and Iron Will though. I would use Spine Chill as one perk. That helps to not be the first one found and hooked. The last slot would go to something that provides self healing. I absolutely can't stand depending on other survivors for heals. Personally, I would opt for Inner Strength. If you are cleansing dull totems you are less likely to be noticed first as well and getting a quick heal is really nice against all the thanatophobia and sloppy butcher that seems pretty common. Anyway, that's my advice. Good luck.
-
There is a time to run and a time to hide. More often than not it is more strategic to run though. It's actually the way the game is designed to be played obviously from the way bloodpoints are rewarded. Sneaking around never being found doesn't give very many bloodpoints.
-
I've seen quite a few of her actually.

We were all purple rank and red rank and the killer was rank 17
It's not news that higher rank survivors can bully low rank killers and finish gens quickly. That was true before the ruin changes. If you are going to make the argument that gen speeds are an issue (which I agree with btw) then you need to present better evidence.
-
So you played one game? That is beyond statistically insignificant. Come back after you play another 99 games and let us know how those go. Then you can at least present a decent argument. What rank is everyone on your squad? What rank was the killer? What were the actual results of the match?

Are you new here? This is the case for every killer released ever.
Killers dont understand them quite yet and are far to fast with a conclusion that they suck.
Survivors dont understand them quite yet and are far too fast with a conclusion that they are OP.
Lol, too true. It does seem to be a little more intense than usual though.
-
I like him. I wish he had increased map mobility outside of a chase. There also seems to be some weird inconsistency when it comes to speared survivors. Like when I'm speared, it seems like I can barely shift my position as I'm dragged by more than a foot. Then when I play as Deathslinger there are a number of survivors that after getting speared will almost instantly shift position by 4 feet or more. Maybe it's dedicated server nonsense but it doesn't feel like it. It just seems like some survivors have figured out some trick to get extra mobility while speared.
-
Honestly, the hatch challenge wasn't as bad as the pallet challenge! Everyone and their brother is using Deathslinger, if it's not Deathslinger then it's Doctor, if it's not Doctor then it's Huntress (oddly enough) all of which are a pita to get pallet stuns on. It took me so much longer to get 5 pallet stuns then it did to get 2 hatch escapes. Under normal circumstances I would see a 5 pallet stun challenge and be happy about it.
-
I actually like the idea. I don't think the lobby dodging would be too bad. Players can always pull the ole-switcharoo last second if they are worried about their team mates dodging if they run No Mither.
-
If you didn't notice, everyone is free to complain about everything on these forums and everyone else is free to argue the point. That's how free speech works. So yes complain away about genrush, camping, tunneling, or whatever else. That appears to be the most popular choice when it comes to free speech... complaining.
-
Deathslinger does not need a nerf in any way shape or form.

Yeah - Save The Best For Last is pure trash
@_@
STBL is okay. Just okay. You could never run this perk on any killer and wouldn't miss much. Dying Light is over-rated and it isn't rated all that high by most players. PWYF is just a meme perk. I stand by what I said.
-
@Witas said:
I agree with Peanits' opinions on these killers, one thing worth adding though is that Oni's perks are all trash except Nemesis being very situationally usefull in some perk combos. So I'd pick Myers.
Lol, by that standard you shouldn't choose either. Myers has trash perks too.
-
I would personally prefer that all perks had the exact same rarity. Then you can just find them alphabetically. At the very least there should be a sorting option.
-

He should be able to pull them over vaults because it fits with common sense physics
If you harpoon someone through the heart they would be dead. That is common sense physics but it wouldn't be very balanced. This is a conversation about game mechanics and balance.
-
I do agree that if a survivor is tagged mid vault it should stop the animation. Or even if they are hit on the first half of the animation.
-
I don't see his base move speed as a problem. But I do think he should have increased map mobility. I would love it if he had an ability to harpoon hooks to slingshot himself around the map. Basically let him teleport to hooks the way Freddy teleports to generators. Put it on a 60 second timer for balance. That way he has increased map pressure but his chase is fair. That's what the killer needs.
-
On a 1 to 10 scale of things I care about related to DBD this registers as a -0.2
-
I don't like the position of the generator on the saloon. I think it is entirely too safe. I agree with you on that point. I do like the aesthetics to the map a lot though. It's a beautiful map. The breakable walls are interesting but largely pointless.
-
If it was up to me then I'd say "screw the cult following, rework the add on". But since it's not up to me then the smart thing is to probably just forget it exists, never use it, and avoid buying it if possible on bloodwebs. Ignorance can be bliss sometimes.
-
I don't think that's true. They've been fairly consistent with how they engage the players.
-
Lol, a lot of players are going to die trying to reproduce this bug.
-
@Deagle0105 said:
i just want jason, his game is dead for sure and now is the good time to add him in dead by daylight
The reason that game is dead is because of the licensing issues which is also why you won't be expecting Jason to join the DBD roster any time soon.
-
Oh and for the record, it looks like you are playing on xbox. You would need to file your grievances with xbox since the chat took place there. The offending chat didn't even take place using DBD software. Nothing BHVR could do about this even if they were so inclined (which they wouldn't be).
-
This scores a 0.5 out of 10 on the toxicity scale. Seriously, you need thicker skin if you are going to play this game. Best thing for you to do is just block all chat from non-friends while playing. There is nothing remotely ban-worthy here.
-
What that perk needs is the following text added to it: "Whenever you are injured you can see the aura of the nearest injured survivor." It still wouldn't be good. But at least it might be useful once in a while.
-
Hag is a tough one because she doesn't mix and match very well.
-
I found this article which seems relevant to the topic:
The relationship between women and video games has received extensive academic and media attention. Since the 1990s,[1] female gamers have commonly been regarded as a minority, but industry surveys have shown that over time, the gender ratio has become closer to equal, and since the 2010s, women have been found to make up about half of all gamers.Pretty interesting read.
-
@Desh said:
Does it really matter what their sex is?
It doesn't really matter but it is interesting. There is a perception in gaming that the vast majority of players are male. I don't know what the actual percentages are but from my experience that seems to be true. The fact that this particularly violent game draws a substantial number of female gamers to it is curious. Or at the very least to me, surprising.
-
The reason is simple. You don't have the right to force all the survivors to remain broken for the rest of the game. If you don't want that situation forced on you where you are automatically given corrupt status and all the pools cleansed then you need to be more proactive about using the pools up. It's just part of mastering the killer.
-
Ebony mori's should become what green mori's are now. Green mori's should require an extra condition such as sacrificing a survivor first. Yellow mori's should activate during the end game collapse. That would be balanced imho. I do hope that they balance gen speed before making this change though.
