Preemptive complaining. That's a new one to me.

I'm going to take it to another level. The next THREE killers are going to suck!

There was an article by bloody disgusting that quoted what Mathieu said about the next chapter being a licensed classic killer, but ok.

Maybe that is evidence of the next killer being a licensed killer but that doesn't mean it will be Pennywise or Jason or anyone else in particular. There are literally dozens of licensed killers that fit that criteria of being "licensed classic killer". It could be Chucky or Pumpkinhead or Pinhead or Jeeper's Creepers or Candyman or Leprechaun or Creature from the Black Lagoon or Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde or the Fly or the Mummy or Carrie or Hannibal Lector or Buffalo Bill or Psycho or any one of a hundred vampire or zombie characters or or or...

They all have an equal chance of being the next killer until more information is released. Btw, this is a link to the article in question:

In celebration of four years of their hit asymmetrical horror game, Dead By Daylight, Behaviour Interactive has a little something for fans. That "somethin

If you read the article it does say "That “something” includes a reveal of a new chapter with an iconic horror license set for May 26th at 2pm EST." But it doesn't actually quote Mathieu Côté as saying that. They only quote him with some generic stuff about how excited they are for another year of DBD. So yeah, odds are that the next killer is licensed but anything beyond that is pure speculation.

  • If you are playing as a killer then play the way you want. You don't "have" to do anything survivors expect you to. If you want to make up your own rule book to play by then more power to you.

  • So just pure speculation then? I haven't seen anything resembling evidence.

  • Skill checks on totems would be dumb. That's a good screenshot though.

  • About the only thing I agree with on decisive strike is that 60 seconds is a bit long. Especially if the survivor heals to full or works on gens. I think doing either of those things should turn decisive strike off. If you got time to heal or work on gens then you aren't being tunneled.

  • I would call that more of a soft counter. It is a funny interaction though.

  • To all the people in this thread saying it is bad map design, why do you think that is true? People running from killers in movies run into dead ends. If anything, there is an appalling lack of dead ends in this game.

  • @Zaitsev said:

Alright, Im a killer main, even though Im red ranks both sides, I predominantly play killer.

Survivor is boring to play. It is. Holding M1 and holding w to walk to the next generator is boring as #########.

So why would anyone want to make a boring role even more boring?

Instead of just decreasing gen speed, why not add more objectives for survivors, that are fun and map related?

To be clear here, it isn't specifically gen speeds that killers are complaining about. It's game length. Game length is generally determined by generator speed though which is why you see all the complaints about gen rushing and gen speed. If they added a secondary objective to the game then the gen speeds would be fine. It's not so much that killers want survivors to be bored repairing gens forever so much as it is a case of killers wanting time to actually play the game.

  • According to BVHR, nothing wrong was done here. If you are dealing with a blatant face camper like this then pretty much the only thing to do is focus gens. If you try and run up for a rescue then you are just screwing your whole team over. But the person who was downed should be able to crawl to the other side of the map and get healed if the killer refuses to leave the hook. If you get knocked down and just sit next to a hooked player then that's on you.

But do I think this is the way the game should work? No. No I don't. I think it's a game design flaw. I also think slugging and looping are poor design as well. None of these things are accidents either. They very intentionally made the choices to make DBD the way it is.

  • I'm sorry but that is an awful idea. It would make the perk near worthless. Not only that but it wouldn't be clear to the killer who is immune to NOED. Even beyond the fact that it would ruin the perk "lack of clarity" is reason enough not to do this.

  • Statistically speaking keys are a non-issue. Key escapes make a very, very small percentage of survivor escapes. The one key nerf that I do think should happen is for the unlock action to take around 3 seconds. It is wrong for survivors to be able to open a hatch directly in front of the killer.

  • I don't necessarily think Doctor is overpowered but I have to admit he is the killer I least enjoy going up against when playing as a survivor.

  • I don't think NOED is a problem. But I do think that everyone (killer and survivors) should get a notification when a totem is destroyed. Just a simple pop up indicating the number of remaining totems. This would have an indirect nerf effect on NOED since if you know your team mates are breaking totems it would increase your desire to break them given the opportunity as well. But even as a killer I don't get mad when survivors break all the totems. At the very least that means I wasn't gen rushed so I still got value out of the perk.

  • If it's any consolation, the player that DC's doesn't get any bloodpoints for the match.

  • Ghostface is more popular than I ever expected him to be. I don't think he's OP though. But I do like variety.

  • Lol, when I saw the thread title I thought it was going to be the opposite. Having a handful a free perks each week for players to use. Which actually seems like a good idea. It wouldn't effect me at all. But it might make life easier or at least more interesting for newbs.

  • In what world is this perk so OP it needs nerfed? I legit wouldn't care if every single survivor who went up against me used it.

  • If only we could tie our accounts together. I don't care for the idea of starting all over or buying stuff I already own.

  • I don't agree that survivor game tags should be hidden. But I agree that it is fair for survivors to see the killer's game tag while in a lobby. If you've had horrible experiences in the past with a player (killer or survivor) then you should have the option to not play with that player again.

  • How would aiming faster not help Huntress?

  • Based off what? Is this purely anecdotal evidence or did you keep track of a number of games over a period of time. My experiences have been substantially different.

  • Such a weird question. If not a human then what? A talking cow? Spongebob? A robot? Nothing besides humans makes any remote kind of sense.

  • That would be the lamest killer in history. I would also say it's overpowered.

  • If this isn't a burner account and you aren't intentionally trolling then what does Legion have to do with DS? The two are completely unrelated. If you think Legion is overpowered (they aren't) then make a post about that in one thread. If you think Decisive Strike is underpowered (it isn't) then make a separate thread for that. Unless there is a link that I'm just not seeing.

    someone’s alt account #34

    check ✅

This really does feel like a burner account.

    1. What you are asking for is impossible.
    2. What you are doing is in fact whining and complaining.
  • The only way this would be balanced is if it required a substantial time investment from the survivor. Like on the scale of 30-45 seconds. As a killer I would be willing to live with that. As a survivor, I'd be mad as hell at another survivor who wasted 30-45 seconds rebuilding a pallet instead of working on a generator. So really, it is probably best all around if that isn't an option.

  • Favorite Killers to Play Against Tierlist.png

I went with the OP's format in terms of tiers. But I wouldn't classify the lower tiers so much boring as less enjoyable. Anyway that is my list.

  • It really is weird how the first player sacrificed seems to be the one with the bloody party streamer offering. I swear to god I would show more mercy for a survivor if I knew they were the one that brought a streamer. But alas, there is no way for the killer to know which survivor brought which offering until the end of the match. Don't take it personal.

  • @xEa said:

Dont you think that those changes are a bit of an overkill?

I agree that godloops should be nerfed, but from the pictures i see, this is more then just a fair nerf, they are basicly more or less useless especially the Ironworks one. At least make the pallet a bit more safe.

Changing the size of some maps is okay, like Red Forrest or Rotten Fields, those are too big, but why would you think it is neccessary for a map like Wreckers yard? This map is already really small. Instead of that, how about fixing the size of Mothers Dwelling, the biggest map in the game? You did not even mention this map, while it is the one which actually needs it the most.

When you fix the size and make a map smaller AND you fix the god loops, why would you go any further? Why would you nerf tiles aswell? Why would you also nerf genspeed aswell? How about you just take a break, nerf the god loops, change the 2-3 biggest maps and see how this actually goes?

Why it always has to be mallet method?

I don't think you know what "jump the shark" actually means.

Jumping the shark is an idiom used to describe a moment when something that was once popular but has grown less so makes an attempt at publicity which only serves to highlight its irrelevance. This is especially applicable to television series or other entertainment outlets.[1]

A.) There is very little attempt at publicity in this game. If anything they have a lack of publicity problem.

B.) The game is not irrelevant.

  • Door is on the wrong side. The loop is way too safe but I wouldn't call it a buff since the loop is smaller.

  • Things I think would be acceptable for survivors.

Totems destroyed gives indicator to all players.

UI change showing how far each survivor is in sacrifice progress. (IE hooked once or twice)

Hooked survivor having a way to indicate if the killer is nearby. (waving arms has unclear meaning. The survivor should be able to change their aura color or something to clearly indicate the killer is camping so punishing camping is easier in solo queue.)

  • Clown has best perks. Oni is strongest overall. Since you have clown perks then I'd go with Oni.

  • I would prefer 16 meters. That's plenty far imho. But I agree with the notion that it should be range limited.

oh Dear Lord why it have to be legion

I'm good with it. Hopefully there is a male and female body to unlock.

    lol @ "god loops"

Even average killers have little to no issue with any of these, but ok help out the baby killers even more

    Thumbs up BHVR

Having no skill loops is for baby survivors. Keeping the large brain dead loops is for babies. So really it's time for baby survivors to grow up.

  • I hope it is a breakable wall. I want the satisfaction of kicking it down every game!

  • If I had full control of the game this is what it would look like:

Fire Up - The increased pressure of losing your preys fills you with anger and gives you unsuspected motivation. Each time the Survivors complete repairs on a Generator, Fire Up grows in power.

    • For each Generator completed, gain a nonstackable 4/4.5/5 % buff to Picking-Up, Dropping, Pallet Breaking, Generator Damaging and Vaulting speeds for the remainder of the Trial.
    • When four Generators are complete, gain a nonstackable 2% bonus to movement speed.

  • Absolutely not! The penalty for missing a bunch of shots is missing a bunch of shots! Players that are struggling with Deathslinger don't need to be further penalized for no reason.

  • I would personally save up 9000 and buy a killer though. If you get hag then you get ruin, third seal and devour hope. Any one of those perks can take over a game if it survives. Plus you get a good killer. If you get clown then you get pgtw, coulrophobia, and bamboozle. Pop and bamboozle are both solid perks. Good luck whatever you go with and welcome to the forums.

  • Tough call whether it is worth it to you or not. It is a better perk than most players give it credit for. The trick is protecting the totem while still pushing survivors off generators. Let's put it this way, if the perk survives then it can absolutely take over a game. I still use ruin on Doctor. He actually does have the ability to push survivors off gens while keeping the totem alive. Pop Goes The Weasel is more useful at delaying gens with most killers though imho. If you only have enough shards for one perk then that is the one I'd pick.

  • If you hover over the tab on the right side of your character select screen you'll see how much time is remaining. Last I checked it is under 20 hours. Better get to grinding or buying if you want to finish the rift.

  • @Exxodus21 said:

When the rift first came out we were told completing the tomes would be enough to finish the rift. I've finished the 2nd tome and I still have 3 rift tiers to go and probably won't have enough time to finish them.

Some of those challenges are really grindy too so I've put in a lot of games just to finish the tome, and to need to grind more exp just to get the last few tiers isn't fun at all.

If I'm a dev then what I'm hearing from you is that we didn't make the challenges "grindy" enough. Are you sure that you want to proceed with that argument?

  • Apparently you are a god and we are all scrubs unworthy of your presence.

Math is not wrong. Never played an actual event other than our basic Archives since I started a few months ago. My understanding of the 1.5 for total run to run plus 1.5 was the issue. For a simple minded, I think 50% bonus as a statement for those who never played before. However, thank you all for clearing this up for me. Now, I do not think grinding 1/2 points is worth it when it seemingly takes forever to get a lobby regardless if I am killer or survivor. I do not need any more responses please, thank you.

Lol, sorry that 50% bonus isn't good enough. Historically speaking double bloodpoints bonuses tend to run for shorter periods of time like over a weekend and bloodrush events last longer like a week or so. To my knowledge this is the longest bloodrush event they have ever held.

So many people claim this game is completely unbalanced, however I disagree with this.

Is the game better and easier for one side compared to the other, yes, however the game isn't near as bad as some state it is.

Recently, after hearing so many people complain about how certain killers have it so hard, or rather how survivors have it easy, I decided to start playing killers that are considered weak by majority of the community, and I still don't fail to get 4ks.

The game is survivor sided, but not near as bad as so many people think it is. Change my mind.

What rank are you as killer?

1 … 22 23 24 25 26 … 71
