People said the same thing about stranger things and look how that turned out. Also no need to be rude and condescending for no reason.
I have no idea why stranger things wouldn't work, I know absolutely why Silent hill doesn't though. It's not to do with them not being a human killer, it has to do with how monsters in SH work. Also Sorry if I came off condescending, but I don't think anyone whose very familiar with the franchise would have made that suggestion and I stand by what I said

The devs can't confirm it either. Maybe their company goes bankrupt overnight or all their hard drives fail. Nobody can see the future.
I'm mentioning this because you want confirmation of future events, which is metaphysical knowledge. Nobody knows. All we can conclude is that based on the last 4 years, there will be more chapters after this.
You took what was a simple question of confirming whether or not there are plans to develop past this chapter, and turned it into an argument of metaphysics. I'm not even touching that, man.
The devs plan these things out months, even years in advance in some cases. If another chapter isn't already planned and in the late stages of development at this point, the likely answer is there will be no more chapters.
Considering were in the midst of a pandemic still, I don't expect we'd receive regular updates, so I get that. But as far as I can see, both our arguments are in the same boat. They're pure conjecture and theory craft until proven otherwise.... ERGO I'm asking someone with potentially more knowledge than you or me of the situation if there *IS confirmation one way or the other, and given the context clues I've seen, signs lead to potentially the final year of this game... But again I don't know that for sure.
-
Stop it. If you're a fan of SH, you know why this doesn't work.

No, nobody can confirm that, just like nobody can confirm if the chapter will even be released. It's impossible to prove a negative. However, based on all available evidence from the past 4 years, Occam's razor says they just misspoke.
Actually someone can confirm that... The devs.
But understood, you don't that evidence yourself. Does anyone else have any sort of confirmation? Legitimate question, not trying to argue semantics.

They're French Canadian. English isn't their first language. It's a simple mistake, it's happened before.
I'm willing to believe guys, but based on the text and wording in several instances I must ask, is there anyone who can confirm 100% that this isn't the last chapter? Was a roadmap given, did the devs expressly say there will be more chapters, or did something else prove this to be true?
I'm just saying 16 is a well even number, this game has a smash Bros. Roster of killers already. 20 isn't a bad number either, I just wan a little confirm, not a big one.

This isn't the last chapter forever. MCote is talking about the upcoming CH16 as the last chapter they've finished.
I mean I considered that, but that would be an absolutely strange way to phrase it. Why wouldn't he just say this "upcoming" chapter, or "next". I tend to put alot of emphasis on the word selection for a given context, so I assume most do, but I guess it could have been a slip - then again on these forums a few weeks ago, one of the headers read "if you ever had a question you wanted to ask the devs, now's your chance", and again, I don't see how they could go much further with creating new, viable killer interactions and gameplay.
But I'm willing to accept any evidence to the contrary!

People have been pointing out that the 4 looks a lot like Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. Honestly I'd find him much more terrifying than Candyman.
As a humongous fan of SH, that wouldn't make a lick of sense. The whole thing about pyramid head is he is a manifestation of Henry's guilt over the murder of his wife. It is judgements slow, unmerciful arrival in flesh coming for him. The reason it was so beloved as an icon of video he horror is that it could have literally been anything, but the form was conceved in Henry's mind -
when the movie threw pyramid head in the movie with no proper context, it was pure fan service, which not everyone hated, but it put a bad taste in most mouths as it betrayed the very ideas and concepts behind silent hill. It was always about the psychological horror, the gear builing with your imagination... Also it was fun for people to attempt to decider the meaning behind the manifestations in the players mind.
That being said, I don't think silent hill is a viable source for this game to extract from anyway. The series is all but dead (and at this point, should probably just stay that way), the company who owns it refuses to sell for whatever reason (not that I think anyone's looking to buy) and the creatures in the he aren't even human in the first place, it makes no sense from a lore standpoint. How would the entity torment an imagined creature?(part of the Jacobs later-esq horror of the series was realizing that this could all be in the players mind to begin with).

Don't understand the hate over Candyman but I'm pretty certain that Candyman isn't coming this chapter but instead will be coming next chapter.
What makes you so sure there will be a next chapter? From the text I've read, Matheiu Cote was quoted as saying "this last chapter" not this next chapter.. I have a feeling it's all balance patches from here on out until a dbd 2 maybe. And I mean come on, how much more can they do with killers in this design model? So many factors to balance, so many perks that accidentally have synergy in unexpected ways, all the spaghetti code... I think I'd be just about done after Candyman, if that's in fact what were getting here (all evidence points to yes)

Corrupt and pop dont synergize? Corrupt is gone and barely does anything? Uff...i guess we are simply not on the same page then.
If you dont go for the unhooked all the time, they have 0 minutes of god mode in total and play with 1 perk the whole game. Again, why do you make this argument when there is an amazing counter and that which is simply "dont tunnel"? And if they want to achieve something with their DS/Unbreakable, slug them, let them waste Unbreakable and get the next target.
Maybe you are in a different region, because where i play (PC EU), 75% of those survivors should not even be in red ranks imho. But i also think we might define "looping like a god" very different. May i ask on what plattform and region you play?
Don't tunnel isn't a valid strategy every game though. Just like searching out all the totems in a match isn't viable every game.
So why is DS more fair than Noed again?

So it's better to go the Vox populi route?

Bloodlust sucks, it's not even good, I can't for the life of me figure out why survivor players find it so bad, as if it isn't super simple to get rid of or avoid in the first place. It's as simple as keeping time, knowing how to block LOS, and actually doing well at mind games.
If you're at a loop where the killer can maintain LOS on you AND get downed by it, that is completely your fault. Not to mention there's no real way of you even knowing you got BL'd, unless you know you're playing the wrong way or you were just holding forward on joystick (W) forever.
Seriously, can anyone even present an example that isn't based on a complete misplay?

Other than BBQ, the perks you listed may be dlc perks but they are free dlc you can obtain fairly easily by using shards.
Bbq is 'needed' to win, its just there for bloodpoints. Of all the paid dlc that you can not get with shards, the Halloween dlc probably has the best perks for either side. And even then you can argue that the killer perks aren't 'needed' and personally i don't think DS is 'needed' on survivor side. Though some would argue that.
In my opinion the biggest problem with the dlc is that they don't release really strong perks with any real frequency anymore. They are afraid of being labeled pay to win.
Personally i feel that if they release a great perk on a character you can purchase with free currency, its not pay to win. Its grind to win, which this game already is
The reason BBQ is needed is killer add-on's are a constant cost, and to play some killer well, or at least have a fun time playing them, you'll be going through a lot of add-ons.
The shrine is not a reliable way to get perks, this is essentially like saying Star wars battlefront wasn't pay to win because anybody could get a random loot box with Darth Vader in it.

Sorry, pig. As stated before, there is no cheating or hacking on consoles.
Dark Souls has no crossplay either, so I'm afraid he did not cheat and was just better.
I had ppl accuse me of running speed hacks in DBD. That's on Xbox. No possible.
Ppl hate to admit they were worse than others so they assume it must be cheating. But consoles prevent that.
That's not true, but you say it with such conviction. I used to play Dark Souls on a modded Xbox. Not sure about this generation, but it was absolutely possible once upon a time to hack and cheat games on console.

Gotta pay for the big bad Decisive Strike that everyone seems to complain about.
That's true, but it's not necessary to play well as survivor, where as if you don't have one of the dlc slowdown perks, you pretty much can't play consistently well at high ranks as killer.

The people that play with the mindset you promote (roughly summarized "don't care about my teammates, don't care about playing well, because as long as I pipped I won") are exactly why others like me find solo queue so frustrating and unbearable. I'm thinking all the time and it's very obvious when others don't.
But how's that the killers fault? If we were to balance the game in the way you guys want, the killer would just be bad against solo ques AND SWF. If solo is basically fine outside of the random factor of having 1-2 bad teammates, what exactly is the expectation here?
But furthermore, if you pip and take a death, that's absolutely fine and by design. It's not exactly comparable to times when a killer can lose because they got Ormond or because they didn't happen to have or bring a specific dlc perk. Didn't by the LF dlc? Good luck without BBQ and chilli keeping up with demand for bp and useful notification. Didn't buy clown? LMAO jUsT PrEsSuRe gEnS
Meanwhile all meta perks for survivor are free. That's why certain killers need buffs.

How do you adapt when your team is useless and they all go down in 15 seconds at max?
Here's the problem tho- there is literally no way to balance around that. The problem isn't only that SWF is souch more efficient than solo (although it is), but because of the fact that bad survivors infiltrate every rank and SWF allows for others to be carried where they aren't yet, skillwise.
In my personal experience, once you transcend brown ranks, solo survivor is pretty cake. I literally play both survivor and killer on a broken PS4 controller. If I pip a vast majority of my games in the high ranks as survivor, and carry just under a 50% survival rate while bringing in perks Like OoO just for the lulz, In my eyes solo is fine.. Now high rank killer on the other hand will always have to deal with peak level rival play to some degree, meaning as killer you have a consistent limitation to how well you can do with the other side being much more variable. That's why I think it's fine to say ok, this side has a consistent issue and we'll address it.

Marth did not only mention Ironworks, but since this might be a bad change for Killers, it is here.
He also mentioned how Coal Tower, Groaning Storehouse and Grim Pantry have Windows which are free hits for the Killer.
Regarding the Ironworks Window, I agree to his fix to let it only spawn in its current location and remove the Boxes so that the Survivor can run right and is not forced to run left, when coming out of the Ironworks. Because otherwise the Window is either a big middlefinger to Killers or to Survivors.
(But the other 3 Maps also need some work, even tho it is bad for Survivors, something people on this Forum like)
Don't do that man, don't give into the negative pressure of siding, you're one of the most even kelled survivor mains out there.

I wanna ask veteran killers how where you find motivation to play next match when you see games are so unfair? Thank you for your answers. I like a game so far, but will feel free to move to another one, if matchmaking will be not fixed....
I don’t know why anyone isn’t actually trying to help you, so please allow me. I’ve been around the block a few times, and I could give you a few tips to become a really strong player.
1st thing first, you need to set yourself up for success. You’re going to want to either play Hillbilly, LF, or Huntress with iri hatchets. bring NOED as a part of every build, and if playing LF or Billy, bring agitation and iron grasp.
next what you‘ll want to do is when you enter a lobby, decide your man. This is going to be the person you are going to want to get rid of at all cost, usually one of the black ones cuz they’re hard to see.
next, when the trial starts, you’re probably thinking kill the black ones like I told you, right? Well, not necessarily, you just find the first survivor and down them, then hook them in the basement if you can make it, if not it’s fine, because all you’ll be doing for the next 100 seconds or so is standing in front of the hook, making sure no one even try’s to get your survivor off that hook. After waiting that person’s death, now it’s time to look for the black ones, as they are usually the ones that will try to skate by at the end and you’ll want the ending to be as easy as possible.
If you’ve gotten away with waiting insidious on the last down, you may not be able to use it again, so it’s important that the second hook is placed in such a way that you can possibly go between and protect 3 gems, as by the time you wait his death timer out, most of the gens could be complete. Nevertheless, if it comes between defending gens and defending the hooked, always defend the hook.
at this point it should be two dead. As well as you may have played at this point, you may find at this point that most of all the gens are now complete. This is great because as there’s only two survivors, you’re very likely to find one by a gate at some point, and when you hit them they won’t know what to expect. And just like that, you’ve won the game! It’s not that hard, honestly, but watch out for crybabies who aren’t good enough to go against this, as they’ll make it your problem.
-
What if DS only activates if the killer is within 40 meters of the unhook? I don’t really think it needs a nerf, but if I were going to give it a healthy one, I’d say that would be it, as it still provides the survivor plenty of time to hide and escape with if the killer isn’t on trigger range, just in case a killer came back from such a range, but also ensures that if a killer is within range to “tunnel” the perk can activate in case that’s what the killer was planning on.

Deathslingers can be very good when played well.. I agree with many who say a few missed shots can be the difference between a win and loss with him, and that's why I see him as more of a weaker nurse than a huntress.
First off, his small, already hard to hear TR means he gets in for free a surprising amount if the time. Any information that tells you where survivors are working on gens is very strong for this reason, because it helps you do what Deathslinger wants to do, get the first hit in a survivor, then line up the shot for a quick down. If you approach the gen a certain way to position yourself for a clean shot after a potential hit or chase, you cut down the escape options for survivors. It's also important to know there is almost no shot you can make that is a waste of time, and on certain loops and corners it's smart to actually approach and reel instead of back and reel so you can end with a lunge that may not get a hit, but lessens the space between you and survivor and pulls him out of position enough for you to get the follow up hit. Anything to shorten the chase.
DS is a monster when it comes to cutting down the map, getting a surprise shot that disorients the survivor worse than a hag trap, and securing an area. His 3 gen game is really strong if played well, and he is one of those killers you can never really sleep on, even in endgame, because with certain add ons and perks, a sharp DS makes hook saves almost impossible even from a distance. He's got alot going for him, but I don't think he's top tier or anything, I just think the way in which he locks down chases and removes survivor options shouldn't be overlooked.
-
Let me pose this question, do you guys think you see "tunneling" so often because it doesn't work?
Why does it continue to work? Because the game is "killer sided"?
-
Honestly, there is absolutely no reason to not just eat the stun from DS, it's actually quite pointless for it's intended purpose.
Think like a high rank, try-hard killer for a second.. In any given game where an obsession exists, even a beginner killer will assume DS, but the problem is you can't ever assume how many DS's (this was a part of the "huge" nerf to DS that everyone forgot made it even more annoying, since it used to only work for the actual obsession who couldn't change during a match in the older days).
This is an issue because more than likely at some point in at least some game, after you hook someone you may have a difficult time finding someone before that person is unhooked, which basically resets your pressure to zero if no one is dead yet. Now, imagine you were only 20 meters from the hook as it was unhooked, a gen popped in the distance, and as you turn around to punish the unhooked, the unhook comes running straight past you.
Now, you could choose to ignore them and go look for the unhooked who must be close, but how long will that take you? They are at full health state, avoided MYC because hook rush, and you still have to find them, which is dependent on stage and RNG layout if you even do.
You could also choose to simply slug the survivor off hook. This way you waste their time, punish the unhooked for bad save, punish the unhooked for being bold/misplaying, and can maintain pressure you'd lose otherwise. Seems like easily the best choice right?
Well, this has problems too. First off, you still have to take the time to pursue and down the survivor off hook. If they have SB or dead hard, that's more than likely enough time and distance to make it to a loop, so you'll be wasting the time around that loop as well. If the unhooked had BT? Well, unless you're a literal stealth killer, you also have an extra health state to deal with, possibly on top of DH/SB and DS. But ok, you power through all that, get them down again and leave them on the ground. Mission accomplished! Now you can go for your next chase with the momentum built in your favo... Oh wait, there up because they have Unbreakable... well that's ok because you're on your way to apply pressure and oh it just so happens after all that chase another gen pops, to be expected of course from all the time you've used but that's fine because you're by another gen in your 3 gen area that's 60 % to complete... And there are two survivors on it. You try to chase both off but they circle it like vultures, so you kick the gen and commit to chasing one for a hit to get them off and the gen pops to your back. If only you'd had Pop goes the weasel you probably could have saved your 3 gen, but you chose to slug so you lost that benefit, as well as the pressure, as well as a hook state. You also get called a camper for slugging or something.
So there is no reason NOT to go for the unhooked in a situation where it's the most convenient option, other than social stigma, Survivors calling you mean names like "Tunneler". That's not to say there aren't scenarios where you're obviously being an ass to frustrate and throttle someone (which imo isn't even bad anyway, if people want to think this games competitive, well tilting is part of the competitive environment so be careful what you wish for). Obviously there are also scenarios where going for the unhooked is viable, maybe even the better choice between the two. But the problem is people take getting smacked off hook as a personal thing. Honestly, of the survivor who unhooked you was actually good, you would have been completely safe to escape hook, at least to a fair chase.
Final thought: Many survivors need to get better at understanding hook management. Even if a killer is camping, there is no scenario in which a survivor shouldn't be able to get off the hook and escape for significant time unless the killer is blatantly throwing the game just to tunnel a single player out. If that's the case, you should be able to tell that after a single unhook. Most will gladly allow you to take the survivors place, so understanding when and how to go for a hook save makes all the difference.

I put deathslinger high because he can counter loops well in my opinion
Don't get me wrong, I agree and there are things he can do at some loops that make certain loops more deadly to deal with him on than huntress, I'm just not sure yet. I think he deserves higher placement for sure, but I don't know if he's above Billy or Oni.
-
I almost liked the controversial nature of this list... But you put Hillbilly in B their, Which I cannot approve of. Outside of the glaring issue of him and Oni being too low (and probably in reverse order if we're being honest) I think it's a lil too early to really place Deathlinger. That being said, I don't hate him being higher teir, I think he's got more potential than folks think because of how stealth he is as well as his strong chase, but time will probably tell as huntress may still be above him
-
Personally, and I know many won't agree, but I much prefer Deathslingers from an enjoyment factor. I don't know if I was just too used to Billy or if it's his club in Oni mode that for some reason ######### with my sight, but I have a difficult time playing Oni and getting that same value
Meanwhile, I'm getting a very strong kill average with DS after having put some good time in. His power is just so good for sniping folks out, and the pressure aiming that gun at a survivor is powerful if you're confident in your ability to land shots, because the survivor knowing you hit shots is enough to keep them from hugging certain loops. He also can get value in situations Huntress can't (certain short loops are awesome for him, and pretty much has stealth as well, slightly mitigating his slower speed (though not much, don't get it twisted). I've found him to be a great killer if you can take advantage of his ability to get quick downs and control space in a chase. If you, like me, still crack up at the idea of literally just shooting a survivor in the face, imagining the shock on the other players actual face when you actually got a great longshot on them, you will have fun with him.
-
Did you ask the survivor players on the other side of they even subscribe to that dumb philosophy that putting on perks and add ons is a planned attack on your character?
I wish this group could stop asking the other side not to do things. I how frustrating playing killer can be, belieeeeve me. But they don't have to justify the way they play anymore than you do, so just play how you want... Within the rules

But why do you feel the need to do it anyway, when I haven't done anything to warrant it? I don't abuse BT, DS, Flashlights or anything like that, but somehow just because they can or because I play a basic Claudette or P3 Yui, I'm fair game.
bHVR have proven one thing before: They'll change something when one side is getting their way too much according to statistics. If survivors escape too easily more often, then bHVR will actually do something about it, but when killers are actively boosting the statistics with false data, by tunnelling, camping and using Mori's then nothing will be done. Same as the Pig buffs that a lot of people have asked for, but Almo has stated that according to the statistics, she's "in a good place".
Your problem is continuing to make this all a personal attack. We're all just playing a semi competitive game here, we all want to win at the end of the day. That isn't always possible for both sides (as much as they seem to balance towards that being the case)
Maybe taking a break will help with some perspective. It helped me alot

Huntress is stronger without Iridescent Heads than she is with them, simply because she has to reload more often.
More time reloading is less time spent patrolling on a Killer that is already slower than most.
I don't object to the add-on being removed (by all means the devs should remove or change it if it's so universally hated), but I don't think it's as busted or innately toxic as everyone seems to think.
I disagree with huntress mains sitting here, cow towing to every opinion about their mains, because like " I'm a rank 1 huntress main, I never needed iri hatchets" good for you, bad bunny, but you don't get to speak for all players of the game. Some people like them as an option and to sit here and say they are the most broken thing in this game that needs nerfing?
I guess I shouldn't care since I don't even play her anymore and have much more fun playing Death slinger, but I think the game will live if iri hatchets aren't touched. There are annoying scenarios we have to deal with on both sides, but there are ways to adapt to huntress playing this way. Not to mention some of your suggestions are just ridiculous in the first place. 40 meters? You might as well delete the add on because you won't see that scenario in 2/3rds of the map, and it basically be a handicap to run.

How many hours do you have playing killer?

Wait...
You can just crouch walk over the traps and not trigger them? I swear I've tried it before but maybe I haven't.
If that is the case, I'm fine with her as is. I essentially just wanted a way to counter her traps. If I can crouch walk over them and not trigger them, I'm perfectly happy with that.
Oh yea, as long as you crouch walk you're golden

So, as of late, there has been a rampant rise within the Killer community of tunnellers and campers. This has been the case ever since the Ruin rework. To me, there is zero justification of this behaviour.
I could reasonably see it back when Dying Light was based on the Obsession dying, and I can sympathise with camping out someone who's done nothing but flashlight and teabag you for a majority of the game. Delete them so they can't be toxic. Ruin their game since they ruined yours. It's ok.
However, I have payed money for this game too. I've bough a physical and digital copy for Xbox, purchased every DLC except for Ash and Leatherface, and even bought some Auric Cells for some cosmetics. So, why is it acceptable for YOU to tunnel or camp, gen-rush, teabag and flashlight at pallets, abuse perks like NoED and Borrowed Time, drag me back during EGC just to see the Entity kill me when I'm the last one alive and try to justify it with "I payed money for this game, I should get to play how I want."
Guess what, genius. I'VE PROBABLY PAYED MORE MONEY THAN YOU!
I don't gen-rush you deliberately, I don't know god-loops that well, I don't bring in any items and the only meta perks I run are Balanced Landing (if you can still call it meta), and Decisive Strike to deal with actual tunnellers on ONE of my two main builds.
I don't face-camp or tunnel you, I don't use only Billy's saw, I give you a free farming session if two of your idiot teammates DC early on you!
I show a level of common courtesy to everyone else. Mutual respect, until you show me that I should do otherwise. So, why is it not reciprocated, huh? I'm not an entitled player, or salty for asking that maybe we could have a mutual understanding of each other.
So. I'll say it one more time. This is not an excuse to forgive your abhorrent behaviour. We ALL payed money for one thing or another in this game.
Yes this is basically an angry rant, but enough is enough. I'm over hearing this dumb excuse. This isn't a free-to-play like Fortnite, so there should be zero reason to say this.
And to all those who think they can justify saying this, you are lying to yourself. I don't even want comments on this. Just for people to read and understand what I'm saying.
Friend, you should relax.
We need to stop this nonsense of thinking hat everything someone does in this game is a personal attack. In the context of the game, you were just another Survivor, and he was just another killer. He didn't see piggy Claudette and say "######### that guy" he said "there's another survivor who's playing well, better get him out of here"
In the same way you will say "oh, there's a killer, better run to this well placed loop and waste time/break LOS, maybe teabag if I feel myself a bit".
It's a game, and as much as I've gotten caught up in the hysteria as well, I think this pandemic situation helped me to realize how impersonal and unimportant in the grander scheme this whole killer vs. Survivor B's is. It's a game and people will play the way they want to, and we should all be ok with that, not be judgemental about the way folks play. The same things we have fun doing cause annoyance on the other side no matter what, to whatever degree. We know the nature of this game, and even if it is imbalanced and aggravating, it's still fun to play until that point.
So let's stop the game shaming, it's getting childish at this point, and we're all pretty much guilty of it but it should just stop.

Then have it give the hag an indication the same way the trapper gets one when a trap is disarmed.
The bags traps don't injure you in their own, she has to have placed the trap in a way that she can even capitalize a hit off it. You can also crouch over the trap completely, Urban evasion is still a complete counter to her. What you're asking for would make hag worthless, as a prompt would come up everytime you're near her traps and she'd never get any value out of them unless she chases you into them (mind you she moves at 110, she's not a chase killer, like the trapper can be).

Because you can actually pressure gens that are that close together? How hard is it to understand?
I think pop being better than corrupt is a valid argument for two reasons
A. It gives you trial long ability to control generators, rather than being regulated to the begining of the trial only and being useless the rest of the trial
B. You actually have input and control over the use of pop. This is powerful because in most maps, it allows you to pick and choose generators you want to protect, leading to potentially strong 3 gen scenarios, and if played correctly, strong pressure all game.
I understand why you would choose Corrupt over pop at the same time. Depending in the killer, it may be more useful (although I would run both if I were planning on running CI at all, but that's me) but don't be so quick to call out others for the opposite opinions, were all on the same side here.
