Yup,pc isn't any better. My one sounds like a jet while playing.

Nah, PC is like 100 times better unless you're running this on a brick. Unless you've exclusively played this game on PS4 for years, you won't know how huge of a difference it is to not have pausing before every action as killer, to not actually lose so much momentum to fps drops that cause survivors to basically disappear between frames.

It's absolutely horrible as killer on console, on PC I've had such a better experience.

  • He's pretty decent, he definitely losses to teams who focus on gens though (as most slower killers do). I think overall, he's around mid b their, his chase is fairly comparable to nurse if you make shots often, and he has a few tricks, but he's just to slow for most maps, and there are plenty of LOS blockers on some that make playing him almost redundant.

Don't get your hopes up. A PS4 should be able to easily handle this game, its just poor optimization and programing that causes your system to heat up.

Oh absolutely, I know it could run smoother, but they'll never truly unravel that spaghetti code enough to make that effort... Either way I'm PC race for the time being so I'm not too bothered. Just hope they eventually adoot a profile system so I can have all the content and cosmetics I bought and earned over the last 3 years, that's what really burns me

  • I wouldn't be surprised to see a ps5 version with updated graphics... But the current PS can barely handle this game as is, I literally can't play on PS4 anymore because it runs PS4 so hot it flashes off.. now my PS4 always runs hot no matter what game

killer hasn’t been fun for a long time. You just need to look at survivor queue times to put things together.

I don't get this, I just started playing on PC for some reason, and que times as survivor seem immediate compare to the que times for killer. Admittedly this might be because I'm not red rank on either side yet (I hope they allow you to link accounts soon...)

The amount of blind assumption in this post is ridiculous I'm going to poke it out one by one.

    1) I'm well accustomed to Old decisive strike and old borrowed time and well accustomed to what mettle of men used to be.

As for old decisive strike I've received tons of hate because I used to juggle survivors with it so The Obsession couldn't get it off.

Old Borrowed time was stupidly ridiculous and was practically ggez you lost in endgame

Please don't try to bring elitist entitlement to make when you have no idea how long I've been playing the game. It makes your comment stink of arrogance and ignorance.

How old decisive used to work or how old borrowed time used to work has nothing to do with this discussion bring it up to try to pass me off as a new player to discredit what I'm saying is pretty underhanded.

    2) Trapping a survivor in the place so they can be killed by a reverse bear trap or endgame collapse is not bannable at least for taking the game hostage while you might be able to make a case for griefing the action itself is not bannable. Either you have no idea what holding a game hostage means or you just assumed it's reportable because block someone in a corner. Literally slugging all four survivors and just letting them bleed out which by the way takes a lot longer is also not taking the game hostage or bannable

    3) As for my no one escapes death argument if you actually bothered to read what the post was about you will understand that I'm saying if you're going to do something that you know is going to annoy other people you can't really complain when it annoys other people. I have no idea why you're trying to defend noed because I never once said it was a bad thing to run. I said if you're planning on camping and then just using noed to counter the people who gen rush because of the camp don't be surprised if you get called out for that

    4) once again I was not arguing on whether decisive strike is a toxic pug or whether it can be used in any game situations if you actually read my post which I'm pretty much assuming you didn't.

My criticism with it was for people who use it as a free card to not be punished for making bad mistakes for trying to popping generator in the killer face or going for a really stupid hook save normally this would be punished by a down and a hook but decisive strike will protect you against this. The people who do this do it with the full knowledge that this with the full knowledge that decisive or protect them is it a Smart Play yes is it a little scummy yes

I'm sorry, I thought you were complaining about the way the game is played, are you not?

In all fairness I shouldn't have assumed you were new, or relatively new. I don't have any evidence of that, and I apologise for that assumption. I misunderstood what you meant when you said that griefing with pig wasn't bannable, and because I misinterpreted that conclusion.

I still disagree that people should be chastised over playing the game normally, I just don't see that, of used for instance, at the end game, as a big problem, but I understand why it frustrates you.

I don't want her to be weakened, I just want her to not be so god damn boring to play against from the survivor's perspective.

I don't mind strong killers. I don't mind easy to play killers either. But when a killer tells so little information that the player controlling her can literally take their hands off the mouse and keyboard/controller and get gifted hits because she gives that little information, then something is wrong.

It would almost be the same as if Trapper or Hag's traps were completely invisible. No way to tell where they are; you either just run into them or you don't. That's how Spirit feels to me almost every time I go against her. No information. Only thing I can do is try to be as 'random' as possible and hope I don't bump into her.

Popping bubble wrap provides me with more entertainment than playing against a Spirit. They could remove her entirely and I would actually like the game more (even though I don't actually want them to do that). I hate her that much.

I hear you on that, and it's funny that right as I was saying all of that, I got loaded into a game with a spirit who was very impressive with her play. I can definitely agree I see where you're coming from.

  • I agree with Hag being hardest overall to play. Nurse on console is abysmal, don't get me wrong, but if you have her muscle memory down and generally hit great ports, a worse resolution and lag spikes probably won't kill you....

Now console hag on the other hand...

So going for hag already is that she is a bit of a delayed threat- gotta set a few traps at least in the beginning, depending on what you're going for. The placement of traps in and of themselves requires knowledge of how they work, what angle to place the traps at for best throttling position, etc.

Then you have to account for position of survivors, how traps placement works in regards to your "nest" or the area of gens you want to defend. On too of that, you need to be aware of whether survivors have flashlights, when and when not to tp, learn how to anticipate trap pops and instant tp ( which, due to dedicated and PS4 hardware, almost impossible now), and contend with a slower base move speed than any other trap based character.

The problem is with Spirit sometimes there is just no ball under a cup. Especially when injured.

Well, I do agree that when injured, it's pretty much a losing run against her. In that sense the balance lies heavily with her. Guess that all plays into her synergy...

I don't want to put ridiculous ideas out there because even though I know she can be super strong, I don't want her castrated... But for the sake of argument, has anyone considered the idea that her red glasses add on is the only way to see scratch marks AND blood? Personally I think it be ok as long as they gave her back collision

Monstrous Shrine does do its job well. It makes saves more urgent. Teammates are unlikely to persist with a repair for as long before attempting a save.

I.e. a survivor hooked in the basement with Monstrous Shrine indirectly stalls gen repairs.

Does it do this great? Not really. But it works nonetheless.

    It definitely needs something more.

I've never seen anyone try to legitimately speak to the merits of Monstrous Shrine. But have to point to the fact you literally contradict yourself by saying it does it's job well, then proceed to explain why it does it's job poorly.

Honestly no need for the mental gymnastics, it's a trash perk that has almost no effect, especially because the survivors can easily go the game without any knowledge of that perks existence or effect on them, and it would make almost no difference if they aren't aware. It's like am infohazard perk, which is a LOT cooler than it sounds. But it's "useless" in pretty much any case, and also compels the killer to go out of their way to make a scenario that may not even be available to them most matches.

So Im playing Meg(* cough FRICKING MEG MAIN*) and I go into a game, the killer was a green rank Deathslinger. And I played the game. Well I'm the only one who got chased, and shot, but by the time he hooks me (the whole game was like 5 minutes) well when I was hooked his noed got broke. I got saved and everyone got out. But the scary part was when he messaged me after words. I play on ps4 so there is no game chat, he sent a voice message, told me how "my swf team sucks and is toxic" (there was no swf team involved) but some thing off, he sounded sad, like not your normal sad but the mental instable kind, I mean like the really REALLY depressed kind of person. I am scared for him not me, I hope he doesn't do anything bad to himself. I don't know him or anything about him, so I really can't say. I asked him if was good but he said no and that's it. I HOPE nothing bad happens. And that's it I don't what to do, like at all. Should I tell someone?

It honestly makes me feel good that children and teenagers like you exist, that are actively aware and concerned of others outside yourself. The example set fourth by much of my and the next generation seems to be one of general obtundation. It's nice to see youth with empathy

People are free to use perks in whatever way they want to however that doesn't make them immune from being called out if they've using in a scummy way.

You're free to farm someone on hook if you have borrowed time I'm that doesn't mean that the person in question can't call you out for farming.

You're free to trap someone in a corner with an active reverse bear trap on their head as that's not bannable doesn't mean you are immune to being called out for it.

Free to camp all game and rely on no one escapes death to clean up of the kills but once again that doesn't mean that you shouldn't get called out for doing something that's a scummy play

If you decide to use defensive strike not as an anti tunneling perk but as a free card for you too to complete a generator or get a ridiculously unsafe hook that's all fine and good but once again someone can call you out on it.

    Incorrect on many levels.

    1. Scummy is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone agrees that using NoED is scummy, and under what usage does it fall under scummy or not scummy, seems to elude anyone who is confronted on such a manner. Trust me, as a killer player mostly, I KNOW what can feel like scummy perk play. You may not have even been around for old DS, old BT that protected both savior and saved, instaheals at pallets, etc. Talk of scummy play, most of those plays removed whole minutes of killer vested chase and down time. But just because your don't like how they were used, doesn't give you the right to harass that player, tell them they're wrong because they made an ingenious and malicious build, and they're the one that needs to improve.

    2. The beartrap scenario.... You're either entirely aware that's bannable and are being facetious, or you are so knew to the game you don't realize that's technically reportable. Either way, it's not allowed, unless something very recently has changed that's been known.

    3. Anytime cleaning up with NoeD is allowed to happen, that is the survivors fault. At most, the killer should be able to net a kill or two - it's a total misplay of the totem isn't broken, or a door isn't opened before more than one person is downed and hooked. If the killer is slugging at the end, that also probably means he was building on an endgame build in the first place, and he played with no perks just to get a strong end scenario. Still beatable, especially if you figure things out before endgame, like when you notice no slowdown perks, or no tots and I'll effects all game, someone might want to break a totem or two.

    4. Aww the big one, the killers most averse tool... DS..

I don't love defending this perk in it's current form, but look, it was much worse once upon a time, and if you're made aware of it early it's not bad.

The problem with this perk in my mind is, especially with all it's synergy, the best play is to eat DS as quickly as possible in most cases as once it's gone, builds around it fail completely, but if left unchecked and not tunneled out immediately, there is the potential that the survivor will at end game, deliverence themselves off the hook when you choose to apply pressure somewhere else, hit AD with a perfectly timed extraction transition into AD burst, get smacked down and left (because they are the obsession, duh), pick themselves up with.... That perk that lets you get yourself off the ground (escapes my mind for now) while in the exit gate, and then get smacked down again, only to DS you and out the gate...

But that said, there's usually a way around it. Notice btw, I say usually... Because I freely admit, there are some scenarios on which you just can't possibly be expected to win..it happens to everyone, and to this date no single person has never lost a game on either side. To that point, all sides have SOMETHING to complain about, for sure, but I believe at this point, it's all but pointless to get upset at the way others play the game, if only because you'll never be able to control that in the first place, and technically it's all working as intended.

I try to avoid m&a right now, as spine chill is becoming more popular and his TR is so small and... Delayed, it doesnt matter in most cases, I can shot them with vanilla TR before they run off the gen anyway.

My p3 on ds isnt done yet, as I havent burnt enough bp to get all perks on him.

Been running stbfl, pop, thrilling and bbq for bp to ease the grind.

Other than generic builds, i found make your choice to be some what of use in the long run, sadly dont have spot for it now, maybe will swap thrilling for it, or bbq once im done with grinding, as if that will ever happen.

I hear ya. I played without MA for a good bit simply because I didn't have the good fortune, and for the most part I guess I just missed the additional surprise and pressure it brings, PLUS the extra field of view is extremely useful on PS4 , where resolution is absolutely ######### compared to pc.

(Side note: just learned how real this is as I finally got a great laptop and rebought dbd. The frame drops, the resolution, the depth of view limitation.... After all this time it feel like I'm playing a new game, my PS4 controller literally feels less boxed in and rigid playing on my PC)

But yeah, I've heard MYC can be good, but I guess the way I see it is it's a lot like his coin add on at the end of the day, you get about as much use from that perk, and if you bring it you might as well just bring his iridescent coin add on and save a perk slot since he only has really one "necessary" add on imo... But again that's just my thoughts.. I sometimes have trouble with my imagination of these perk and add on combos. Think anything interesting will come of PH perks mixed with DS?

  • @mouse0270 said:

To be fair, #2 can also just be the killer being petty at times.

For example, I've seen many cases where the killer was chasing someone, then saw someone else going for the save, gave up chase and hit the new person going for a save. At that point you have at least 2 people injured and one on hook. You might as well use BT.

Now I am not sure if this has a name like "camping" or "tunneling" does, but to me its not different than camping. You are giving up chase to make sure someone doesn't get saved.

This is exactly the reason childish terminology for game tactics doesn't work and should end. Everything someone doesn't like about the game loop, they just ascribe it a new eptiaph and demonize anyone who plays anything around it. Nothing capable of being used in this game outside of unintentional bugs should be called out at all, people can use DS and BT however they like, and by the same token, no one should be calling out a killer because you decided to leverage said perks and it didn't work in your favor.

I don’t completely agree with what you’re saying, although some of it is correct. If I get unhooked unsafely due to my team mate being a moron, then I’d fully hold my team mate accountable for doing so... But when the killer is intentionally going out of their way to camp or tunnel (to the point of other survivors being ignored for bait hits), it’s just sad as hell. This literally just proves the only way they can feel confident in getting a few kills is by tunnelling and lingering infront of a hook, which equals a bad player.

People should just strive to learn how to play the game in the best way they can instead of settling for some cheap tactics and literally ruining everyone’s experience. As far as handling the loop of the game goes, there is literally NOTHING you can do if someone decides to tunnel you. There’s only a select amount of pallets and windows that can be wasted before the killer eventually catches up with you. In this time you can’t do gens, you can’t help other team mates, you can’t get heals, you can’t do totems and the list goes on.

That is literally just going out of your way to ruin someone’s game because you’re not capable of playing the game the way it was intended to be played.

I always hear people crying about toxic survivors this and that but the killer is always faster than the survivor and the survivor can’t literally stand in front of a killer and make them unable to do anything that they should be doing in the game.

Killers cry about tiny little perks that come out for survivors, how they’re too strong etc. Just imagine an unlimited insta-heal coming out that everyone had for every single game guaranteed and a survivor could bodyblock a killer in a corner and take unlimited hits to prevent the killer from being able to do anything for the whole match. There would be absolute uproar about it. This in theory though, is facecamping...

I hear what you're saying, and I don't intend to defend bad intentions of others, but the way the game is designed, you either terminate someone early as possible as killer, with any given chance you get, or you lose. And it's really as simple as someone on the other side doesn't want to lose. In keeping that in mind, you also must realize that there is no clear cut way to determine whether a player is actively trying to troll or if they simply see the best opportunity to win.

And it's like you said about perks, which many killers, but ALSO many survivors complain about. If you've never been DS'd out the door, body blocked and teabagged at the exit gate, you'll never understand camping, and honestly there are more scenarios like that that feel wholly "unfair" when you play "fair" and don't tunnel all game but don't get a kill either because the team is super coordinated.

But I will say this for camping and tunneling, because this is very true, I've experienced and been a part of it myself, as long as 3-4 survivors are alive, there is ALWAYS something survivors can do about both situations if they are coordinated and aware enough. Face camping means the killer isn't watching his sides, if he gives any amount of distance and two go for unhook, everyone can potentially escape in that scenario (barring NoeD, but honestly saving in endgame should be a heavy risk and still can be countered) and as for tunneling, even without the use of DS and BT, which will make you such an unattractive target most times alone the killer will lose the game if he chased you and you are capable in chase.

Again, that's not to say you're meant to win out in those scenarios 100 percent of the time, and those moments are built off the frustration of killers who've probably had a game where they felt helpless last game. It happens, perspective is a hard fought journey. But in the end, one realises this game isn't that off balance, there are just frustrations on either end, and you spend enough times on both sides, you'll realize their equitable, if not exactly equal.

Tried playing as Deathslinger yesterday without pop (needed few kills by any means for the challenge), r1 of course .

Oh God, what a mistake. Tried to play as usual, chase, hook, pressure, split the damage if possible (change targets if needed).

Without any gen regression besides Thrilling, that is more of a tracking perk than anything, I could at best get few hooks in before game was over, if I wanted to get any sure kills I WOULD HAVE TO camp or heavy proxy it (not my playstyle). Even slugging barely helps.

Pop is needed as gens go way too fast against survivors with IQ higher of than 70.

Switched later some perk for pop, games were much more manageable.

I agree, although I'm starting to suspect this is simply a limitation of Deathslinger. He is a killer I believe whole hearted is best compared to nurse (rather than say, Huntress) because his playstyle is that he ends chased fast and is a constant threat in chase. Where as with nurse you have to predict where she may go while also running, so to you must stay vigilant of sight and sounds behind you with DS.

TlDr; he's a chase pressure killer, which means yes, he lacks in map pressure, much like the nurse since her last nerf. You simply compensate by adding mostly slowdown/stall perks for him, since his chase is so good and your TR so small (especially with M&A which I think we can also agree is vital for him) a single tracking perk is usually sufficient if needed at all. In most cases I find commiting a 3-4 gen and splitting the map works well enough anyway.

Side note, anything interesting synergies you found with DS?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336147#Comment_1336147

Not really no. I don’t tunnel so I don’t mind. It’s a built in game mechanic to reward extra points to survivors for ‘distraction’ and also taking hits for team mates. There’s no extra points rewarded for tunnelling or facecamping and if the survivor was meant to die on first hook then there wouldn’t be 3 hook stages would there?

It’s kind of understandable to see a rank 18 or something do it but for red rank killers to do it is absolutely shameful. I’d rather learn to play properly and guarantee a 4k than take my chances tunnelling and wasting other people’s time...

If I get put in a match with a tunneller or a facecamper, a couple, if not all survivors are guaranteed to not pip, maybe even lose one because the killer cba to put any effort in. It’s annoying as hell and it’s a massive waste of time.

That's literally the game man. Anyone who cries about tunneling or camping simply can't handle the game loop. Same as getting back to back red rank SWF groups (which are intensified on PS4, mind you, because of the ease of joining up with friends, as well as in my experience, relatively shorter que times in general)

It's really that simple, and this is coming from an over 3,000 hour (on console) multiple time red rank killer and survivor player.

I get aggravated as killer at red ranks when I go against coordinate SWF, I get aggravated as survivor when I get chased off hook or am never allowed off hook (although sometimes the tunneling is absolutely the fault of your teamate, and I actively remind myself in situations where that's the case that I'm not realltad at killer for making the best play out of the situation) but after all this time, I realized those aren't supposed to feel great in a game with opposing objectives. It's the nature of the beast, it's why you love it and hate it, so better to decide now if that's a relationship you can handle, cuz that's the game.

  • Well, if you need an actor for the sequel, I've had some experience in the thespian arts. If your interested let me know, my door is always open.

The nurse is still the strongest killer in the hands of someone who has taken the time to learn how to play her. That's one of the coolest things about the nurse, IMO. If you run into a good one, you pretty much have to respect their hustle, even as they inevitably murder your face right off. She doesn't need to be 'more accessible'...she is special and her skill cap is part of the reason.

That is such a silly argument, especially coming from a survivor main...

Oh, I don't really play this character at all, but their fine imo!

Exactly my thought. Of course people dont want to play her when there is an arsenal of Bugs happening. I imagine someone picking up Nurse again and in the first game they play, they get the Bug where the second Blink is temporarily disabled. This person will probably not like to pick up Nurse again anytime soon.

If Nurse is in a fixed state, it would be way easier to judge if she is too strong/too weak/whatever.

But no one is even addressing her bugs in the first place. Just because that's bad, that doesn't address the fact that this killer already had the lowest kill rate of all killers due to how difficult she was to learn, and now that she's even worse of than before, all the inflation from those busted add ons is gone.

I've got multiple nurse playing friends who dropped her (some DBD altogether) and we're talking rank 1 no perk ADHD kid level nurses, they could still easily wipe the floor with there PS4 nurses at rank 1.

    She's downgraded from a masochistic but fun killer, to a killer that actively fights against your use of her, every facet of her basekit plays against you in some way ;

W(oh your power is strong but your slow, oh your power is too strong it also goes slower and is slightly more telegraphed, oh but if you use your power you're not supposed to see, oh but also for you use it you have to wait to use it again, oh and you don't get add ons that do anything good for you even though one of the reasons we claimed to want to change her is to give her more interesting add ons)

I think they can afford to relent to the degree that the timer could use adjustment of some kind, or another mechanical gimmick altogether

  • His accuracy is questionable.. The best advise I can give is make sure you line your shot a slight bit left of the sight, as you'll see t

You'll be making slot more shots with that minor adjustment kept in mind.

DS is basically perfect as is, because there really isn't a way in which you could improve him that would address his one weakness, which is map pressure. You have to use perks to cover that unfortunately. But his speed of 1v1 can be downright oppressive, and that's what you play this killer for

  • You know, the more I think about it, huntress with iri and infantry is infinitely more potential than base huntress, not just because of speed of downs, but because with her regular ount of hatchets, the most she can get without having to refill hatchets is two downs, and those would require some chasing after an initial hit. Meanwhile, with less time invested you can down more almost instantly.

They should just make it not stack with the belt, period.

  • That's pretty much how I feel about this. Let sleeping giants rest. It's not really a big deal, anyway, and at least I can play something SH again that's actually new. Who knows what it could mean if it does well.

I mean, unlike freddy he can't teleport to the other side of the map and doesn't have the dreaming/waking mechanic. I'd say his bottles SHOULD be stronger than freddy snares in a chase. Don't you?

Look two posts up, I was being facetious. It's not like it would make him stronger than DD in a chase, no matter what he probably will be about the same as before, even with that decent buff

He should be stronger, Freddy took his uniqueness away smh. But Freddy can STILL teleport... just saying.

Lol I agree with that, it's clown having an overly centralized mechanic in the first place that was his undoing. I'm joking about this being OP, although I am excited to see how certain perks will interact with this change..

  • Why did they just make clown op tho? I mean can we admit that his bottles will now be stronger than Freddy snares in chase? Not to mention that finger add-on might be kinda broken now

  • Fine, you win. I'll eat that filthy bird. Not like I could stomach anything else right now anyway... I mean seriously, I don't mind Heather being in at all or anything, though this game doesn't deserve the SH stamp... but Pyramid head looks like the ######### crapper in a traffic cone. I'll say it again, ######### Konami!

Both Silent Hill and Resident Evil have movies. I never watched any of them cause they looked ######### so no idea if pyramid head is in it, but it exists

Honestly, Pyramid shouldn't have been in the movie either

  • What are you talking about, resident evil has a more successful movie line than SH. Mike Epps was in a sequel

  • I'm feeling a host of emotions after this reveal... Disappointment, anger, confusion...

This is worse than expecting a Bill and Ted reboot with gender-swapped children...

    That attracts so much toxicity?

Recently I was bored and went through my PSN messages to start deleting some of them. It was then that I realised, probably about 90% of them were from DBD players and almost all of them were the typical “I hope you die” or “I hope you get cancer” messages. Ya know, the really ‘pleasant’ stuff. Now, I could understand this being a thing if I only played DBD online, but I don’t. I’ve played The Last of Us, GTA 5, FT13 and Uncharted 4 for years too. So what is it about this game that either seems to attract nasty people or bring the nasty out in people? It’s almost becoming like some weird cult. The amount of people that get GENUINELY hurt by having their pixels get killed in a game is alarming. I know this is a game about either surviving or being killed, but I think it’s actually got a player base made up of mostly psychopaths.

Telling people that you want them to die, or have family members being raped etc is NOT and will NEVER BE normal behaviour. It actually baffles my mind how many deviants I’m playing with or against.

I don’t remember it ever being this bad in 2017 / 2018. But since 2019 it’s becoming a rarity not having somebody message you after a game.

This has been the opposite for me, I get a lot less hate comments these days opposed to how often I did in early 2017, and they were often more hateful. I play on the west coast, USA, maybe it’s different where you are?

  • I just want to draw attention to a simple fact -

Look at the difference in tone of the overall discussion when one mentions nerfing killer vs. when one makes any suggestion that the survivor side has anything strong.

For reference, I made a post about the pairing of DS, Unbreakable, and Deliverence. My argument was that it may be a little strong with coordinated SWF, and there isn't much of a reason for these perks to synergies so well in a way basically ensures if you've used it right, you cannot be stopped at endgame.

Acknowledging mistake in not having found the survivor and hooked them before endgame (I killed one surv, two were on death hook, but the elusive one was found in the 3 gen scenario and pursued, mind you while playing a 110 killer), I still saw this as a scenario for potential continued abuse, or at the very least a strong combo with very little downside and no real counter.

My thread was met with accusations of my inadequacy, my personal failings as a player, etc. Because a scenario like that is always in my control, apparently. Maybe a single person addressed what I'd said and also commented on how crazy the scenario was.

Whether that was a solid or fair point of discussion didn't matter, nor did how I delivered it (non hostile or accusatory in any way, merely posing the question "is this combo too strong"). Meanwhile, anytime Mori's or killer add ons are discussed, the thread gets amazing support, the people in it engage in a calm and friendly manner, no one accuses or is allowed to accuse the creator of whining, having a bad game that doesn't create the rule, etc...

Just a thought, maybe we should all get an equal say and discussion without immediately expecting the worse of other players or the other side?

So you dont shame survivors for playing swf and gen rushing? If we shouldnt killer shame then nither should we survivor shame

You're right. No one should do it to either side. One day everyone will be so enlightened

  • It's literally the best tactic when used correctly, And doesn't garuntees victory at all... it needs to be that strong

His lunge is NOT the same, the hitbox for his claw is broken. He is the only one I've been hit by while standing 5 ft. from a window. His slowdown addons are too much especially when paired with slowdown perks. Freddy requires absolutely ZERO skill to play and makes it a brainless slog to finish a match. Freddy main=Potato, change my mind.

Who told you it's not the same? How long have you been playing this game

Boo freaking hoo. This thought process is what gets me insulted after matches.

Entitled Survivors pissed off that they did not get to 'play properly' (whatever that means in their head) so they feel justified to insult and belittle me.

It's a PvP game; the Killer's role is not to scare you and pat you on the head and give you a damn lollipop. His goal is to KILL YOU. As long as he's not abusing bugs, glitches, or using cheats; suck it the hell up.

Do you whine in Overwatch if someone snipes you, because you don't feel Snipers are 'fair' weapons?

And I'm sorry if this comes off rude, but it is THAT thought process that leads Survivors to act like pricks after a match. They think 'The Killer did <x random thing this Survivor hates>, so they are toxic, which excuses ME being toxic!' when the Killer did what he felt he needed to do..you know..WIN.

We don't have to win by YOUR made up little rules. There's no damn Marquess of Queensberry rules, and I'm sick of Survivors acting like I can only win in their narrow, pre-approved way.

    No Tunneling.

    No camping.

    No slugging.

    No PROXY Camping. (#########?)

    No using crutch perks.

    No using crutch Killers.

Each of these things has a different meaning to every. Single. Survivor.

And yet they act like every Killer is supposed to just not do anything that falls under those words, to appease every holy Survivor Main. And when Killer's DON'T, they run onto these forums and try whining to the devs to make their inane little rules part of the game so they can 'play fairly'. (Translation: win easier)

Yay; you let Survivors go as a Killer. That does not mean every Killer has to follow your example. If a Killer wants to gun for a 4K; it's in his right to do so without being badmouthed or abused.

Yet Survivors sit there and go 'Why are you so tryhard for the 4k? You got 2! Stop being sweaty!' like they expect the Killer to just stop trying if he gets 2 kills.

It's the freaking height of entitlement.

I LOVE THIS COMMENT, SO GD TRUE.... it works both ways at times but it's obvious that one side is inherently more entitled and with expectation. Meanwhile you shouldn't have that as killer

That's funny, but you're pretty much complaining that a survivor was able to "get a free escape" because they had 2 unused perk slots all game and you still couldn't manage to hook them just once. Add Unbreakable and it requires 3 perks...oh geez

Maybe you're right, but a lot had to go right for him to be able to pull off what he did in the sequence that he did. Mind you, I downed 3 times and hooked two survivors before one gen was even completed, and I got more points 3/4ths of the lobby, I wasn't playing terrible at all. This also coming from a month off, and I'm at over 4,000 hours in this game, I'm not new.

Now granted that game was just a lucky situation for that survivor, but I just thought it was a situation that isn't hard to recreate, especially in a SWF. But I was playing Deathslinger, he can be somewhat of a hit and miss, love and die by fast downs killer.. you generally want to devote your time to chasing downs as quick as possible in a small area, not necessarily spreading out your hooks and chasing down gens. That's the nature of playing the 3 gen strat as well.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Yes. Deliverance even comes with a built-in DS timer so you know exactly when to pick the survivor up, how helpful!

Not helpful at endgame when hest the last survivor though.. it's like, I hated when BT and DS had synergy at endgame, everyone did.... But somehow Deliverance and DS are fine, paired with Unbreakable so you have no choice at endgame but to eat it?

Yea, I'd say that's pretty helpful... Some might even say broken

  • @AshleyWB said:

When people talk about perks having a one time use, just remember bloodwarden is a one time use perk which is extremely counter able and doesn't bail you out twice once you eventually mess up or get caught/tunneled down.

Right, for killers perks get countered like Bowser in Mario 64, but in cases like these, the only way you could potentially prevent it is for you to make sure there are no safe unhooks, or that you guess right and get the correct survivor on the hook before endgame. In my opinion to say every survivor should have been hooked once by endgame ignores the fact that sometimes you just can't spend time in a particular space wasting time to chase a survivor, or that slugging is sometimes a necessity, especially when you suspect DS, but unbreakable see's that you can't leave them at n the ground in the first place..

    Just a though

  • @youarewronglol said:

Yes? Ds has it's issues but deliverance sure isn't one of them.

What issues are your speaking of? I'm fine with DS for the most part, I just don't think you should be able to unhook yourself to get a free unhook.. it's really not healthy for the game.

It's like when people ask for BBQ nerf....

Well that has the unintended con of leaving little incentive to leave a hook.. imo this does that in a few ways, not just for the last person in end game with this combo... But for any survivor who you would normally allow a safe unhook on, so as not to tunnel or camp. If we look at it simply from that perspective, I'm sure we can see why such a small change wouldn't hurt DS, but prevent a toxic gameplay style in both sides.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

While I agree this could be annoying I dont like the idea of limiting which perks can be used with which. Thats a pandoras box were better off not opening.

I mean, it's technically been open for a long time. Killer add one have been severely nerfed in the past due to synergy (most with good reason), ruin was nerfed in some regards due to how well it synergized with other slow down perks, and even exhaustion perks where nerfed from a time where you couldn't use them in tandem.... That's actually why exhaustion was implemented.

I'm just saying, given that as survivor, most perks are just icing on top of a very balanced side of the game (especially in an SWF) I see this combo as more of an oversight than anything, and DS doesn't need a nerf at all imo, but I don't think it should work with a perk that garuntees an escape from the hook if the killer doesn't play campy.

From a game health side, I hope I'm making sense.

    1) The Player is down 2 perks for most of the match

    2) One of the requirements is to get hooked (a requirement most Survivors want to avoid)

    3) It’s single time use. Once used early, they’re back to square 1

    4) It’s very rare. Not many players take the combo and even then, it has obvious down-sides

I mean, I would understand if only having two perks was any sort of disadvantage, but also take into account that

    1. The survivors were in a swf

    2. It was actually a 3 perk combo with Unbreakable. He would have been able to get value out of that DS one way or another, and you aren't going to chase the survivor who has the plan of getting you to down them and waste time..he was the survivor that wanted me to pursue, of course I'll go for this kill and death hooks first to throw an SWF off

  • @supersonic853 said:

2 perk combo which requires the killer not to have hooked you once. Seems pretty fair to me tbh.

Right, but there are situations at high rank where you may not have hooked a particular survivor once yet in the trial, especially if you've worked on others and already have a kill and two more on death hook. You can't expect that every survivor will always have been hooked at least once before endgame, especially as a 110 killer who 3 gens.

  • LMAO yeaaaaa that's going in right after the Jeepers Kreepers chapter.
