My Problem With DeathSlinger

*His hitbox is terrible, sometimes i literally hit someone but this game doens accept that i hit anything unless the ######### wall.

*Slow as a turtle, i basically hate the 4,4m/s speed, its trash.

*The reload time is huge, everytime that i get tricked by this ######### hitbox i need a 3 seconds reload.

*The range is low, you have a pretty limited are that you can hit someone.

*Its barely easy break down his shot.

*His aim is trash, i dont know if everyone have this issue but his shot seems to go higher than his sights.

I really likes more clown that him, he was a waste of time to me

  • The only thing that's bugging me is the very low sens while ADS. If you don't insta shoot it's literally impossible to hit someone.

And the shot really seems to go higher than his sight, i missed a lot of shots because of this

  • I don't like that when you catch a survivor in the open from a far distance, they still end up having a chance of breaking the chain due to the meter going up really fast. I could see if it broke when they went out around the tree or an object.

  • His accuracy is questionable.. The best advise I can give is make sure you line your shot a slight bit left of the sight, as you'll see t

You'll be making slot more shots with that minor adjustment kept in mind.

DS is basically perfect as is, because there really isn't a way in which you could improve him that would address his one weakness, which is map pressure. You have to use perks to cover that unfortunately. But his speed of 1v1 can be downright oppressive, and that's what you play this killer for

  • 1) his projectile hitbox is extremely small and requires a lot of precision, which makes it hard to use, plus i agree that there are some scenarios where you clearly hit the playmodel, yet the projectiles hitbox and the survivors hitbox didnt collide, therefore it counts as a miss. latency is also a big factor in this, i find it to be nearly impossible to shoot someone who is very laggy, as my shots tend to just travel through them cleanly without hitting 9 out of 10 times. but in the end its really just precision - if you get the way his gun works down you can hit a lot of your shots without a problem. also you will need to get used to the projectile travel time. He isnt one of these shooter game characters where you click your mouse button and someone immediately takes damage - he does have a projectile that needs to travel towards the survivor before it counts as a hit.

    2) i agree that he is lacking a lot of map pressure, but honestly the 4.4 m/s speed does suit his power pretty well. if there is one killer that makes it extremely hard for you to loop them its Deathslinger - its not impossible, and you're gonna have to eat some pallets, but most of the time you can dominate loops other killers would struggle with (killer shack for example).

    3) its not really long, you can easily reload your gun mid chase, but they will make some distance off of it. honestly, if you can land your shots, this is really not a problem, as you're gonna have to reload once, maybe twice in a chase. its a punishment for missing your shot, and luckily for us its not a very harsh one.

    4) the range is a lot longer than you'd think. when i play him i usually feel like im not gonna hit anything thats a bit further away from me, until i somehow manage to get this snipe on someone barely in my range where i felt like that couldnt ever have hit - yet it did. also, an increased range isnt really gonna help, considering the time it takes to break downn the chain would be shorter than the time it takes to reel someone in from great distances.

    5) i also dont like all the control a survivor has over the chain, but realing someone in isnt as hard as it sounds. did you know you can heavily restrict their movement on the chain AND pull them towards you faster by walking backwards? you should always do this, as it makes it a lot easier to reel someone in.

    6) i havent really noticed any of that tbh, then on the other side, you dont really want to aim down sights with him anyway - you aim before aiming down sights and then quckscope them, thats a lot more efficient than using the aim to try and line up a shot.

i play this killer almost on a daily basis, without any Add Ons on rank 1, and unless its a group thats just out to genrush me, im doing pretty well. he is a character who requires some dedication towards him - and once you figured him out he is a LOT of fun to play.

  • I'll give my opinion since I main Deathslinger.

    1) The hitbox is inconsistent like Huntress hatchets, the devs have stated this issue.

    2) Well that's your problem not the killers

    3) I'd make the brown reload addon basekit

    4) What would be the point of sniping across the map if the chain is just gonna break?

    5) That depends on the environment, the objects around you and the survivor. It's called counterplay and it's healthy for a game.

    6) I believe it's to do with recoil, aim for the torso area.

Conclusion: Sounds like you're mostly complaining over your lack of skill with the killer. So you can either learn to play him or play a killer you enjoy.
