Perks like "Inner Strength" are the real reason this game is dying. And yes, paired with "Head On" and optionally "DS" it got no counter.

Did you understand the point of this post?

Totem spawns like the one I had make the game very unfair to the killer. From the beginning of that match, the killer only had 3 perks because one was taken out instantaneously.

  • @Mochan said:

Oh different title. No, the game isn't "slowly dying" the player base has been consistently at around 20k-ish for the past couple of years.

The game isn't dying by any stretch.

I just needed a nice title lol. But yeah totem placement is an issue.

  • Make Jigsaw's Sketch base kit so that there are always 5 jigsaw boxes.

Then update Jigsaw's sketch as an add-on so that there are either 6 jigsaw boxes, or jigsaw box search speed is decreased (aka searching jigsaw boxes takes longer).

  • I 110% agree with this post. The atmosphere of survivors should be darker like how it used to be. For killers, it can stay the same way it currently is now. But it is too bright for survivors and not at all atmospheric.

  • I'm so pissed off. I was just using Dying Light as Demogorgon and doing well, and my game crashed.

    Such bullcrap.

I think I crashed on my 6th or 7th token.

I was on PS4 by the way so I'm pretty sure it is affecting all platforms.

  • Jeepers... creepers, where'd you get those peepers?

  • It's your controller. It happened to me before and it makes looping as a survivor or chasing as a killer pretty much impossible.

Basically, something is stuck within your controller by the analog stick that makes the movements sticky or not fluid.

Try blowing into your controller analog sticks and pulling the analog sticks outward for a temporary fix. The only true fix, however, is by buying a new controller.

    But yeah, TL;DR it's your analog sticks/joysticks

  • Will you ever add lobby or post-game chat to consoles?

  • You can hear her footsteps, and you can scratch mark juke. You also have Spine Chill to see where she actually is and see if she is mind gaming you by actually phasing or pretending to be phasing. Iron Will so that she can't hear you. Lightweight will make your scratch marks disappear faster. Spine Chill also allows you to prepare for her arrival in advance so that she might not even spot you.

I played a match earlier against a Rank 4 Spirit and I looped her for 3 gens. It's not easy against Spirit, but it is certainly possible. You just need to be ready to think quick, expect mindgames, and mindgame her yourself.

  • Doing gens only on one side of the map and three-genning the team.

Completing a gen that was at 95-99% even though it would three gen us.

  • The game used to be so atmospheric and had more of a horror-thriller element to it than it does now.

Honestly, BHVR should reroll the game back to the old graphic/lighting engine or at the very least give us more settings so we can toggle things like brightness or ambient lighting ourselves.

  • I think 4 perks is fine. But, maybe 5 or 6 wouldn't be bad.

  • I really like the first idea of rewarding the killer based off of how well he did. I also like the idea of the totem reappearing, but I feel that it would lower survivor incentive to do totems, so I think a reappearing totem, even if its aura is revealed to all survivors, might be too much.

Besides that, I really like the first idea. Instead of NOED rewarding killers who do poorly, it instead will reward survivors who have done at least decently.

I think it is a good rework :). But, I don't think NOED really needs a rework as it isn't the most broken or annoying perk. That being said, I actually like the first idea more than the current NOED. Just get rid of the reappearing totem.

  • Ask the survivors if they want to farm. And as they do gens and you build trust, you steadily stalk every survivor.

Then when you're in position right on top of a survivor, pop the Tier 3 and ruin their day.

It worked for me on my first try 😈

  • I'm going to keep petitioning for Rules Set No. 2 to be built into Piggy's base kit.

i dont know why but having this demon thing now in dbd doesnt feel right. every single killer before is/was a human. the demogorgon is may be a humanoid but that doesnt make it right. he is out of place and doesnt belong in dbd imo. not as stand alone "monster" at least. so maybe add more things like him now to make it more believable. i would love to see a xenomorph next maybe.

Xenomorph fits in even less than the demogorgon.

  • I think the idea of having 1 to 2 unmindgameable is okay as it can give the survivor a much needed breath.

I think there are for too many currently in the game.

The vast majority of pallets in the game should be mindgameable and rely on skill from both survivors and killers.

  • I think Haddonfield needs the biggest work.

I love Gideon Meat Plant map, but I want it to get the Springwood treatment and get multiple forms. Even 2 or 3 forms would be enough to switch up the gameplay and make it feel like an entirely new map.

  • "Jeepers...Creepers, where'd you get those peepers?"

"Jeepers...Creepers, where'd you get those eyes?"

I know about the director being a pedophile but man Jeepers Creepers would be awesome to have in this game. I can only dream.

  • Just wait for sales and then buy and use auric cells then.

First, give the killer more control

Second this way the perk can combo with other perks and addons for better effect

Certain killers would be hindered by such a change though. Killers such as Spirit, Hag, Myers. These are all killers with small terror radii.

  • Wow, a poster who is actually appreciative of the devs' hard work. That's hard to come by these days over the nonsensical crying of killer mains/survivor mains.

Thank you for being one of the first intelligent people I've found on this forum today.

And I also agree. I am happy with all 9 perks.

  • @FishFry247 said:

Genuinely I hope this is bait, if not. You should think before you type...

You'd be surprised at how many killer mains or survivor mains cry when the opposing side gets anything remotely useful. It's what you learn to expect when you play DBD.

A bunch of crybabies who want easy matches.

  • Everyone complains, I swear. Not all perks need to be meta level. If they have a purpose or some utility, then step out of your comfort zone and try it. You want another Adrenaline, DS or another Pop Goes/NOED. You're getting different perks. So stop crying. These new perks are far from useless and these will help shake up the perks we commonly see now.

  • What's your reasoning? You can't make an argument without reasons that support what you're arguing for.

Why do you want it to be killer terror radius plus 8 meters instead of 32 meters as is?

What do you think such a change would accomplish or make possible?

    Explain.

  • @Kycer said:

I just don’t get the point of being able to see your own scratch marks.. how is that ever gonna be useful for the survivor? Other than that I like all the perks and as a killer main I think they’re balanced.

It can be used by survivors in a plethora of ways. For example, the perk Dance With Me gives you no scratch marks for 3 seconds after you do a rushed locker exit or a rushed vault. But, it can be hard to gauge those 3 seconds. This perk will help you to know when your scratches return.

Or it can be used to hide when you break line of sight with a killer. You can finally know that the killer won't see your scratch marks and you can hide.

Or against The Spirit. Using this in conjunction with Iron Will can help you to juke her out. All in all, it can help you be better prepared for various situations and various killers.

Or if paired with the perk Lightweight, you can see the improvement in how fast your scratch marks disappear.

And that walking speed bonus is really nice as well.

I wonder if Surge will activate Overcharge on generetors?

Yes because Surge will count as a kick. So, it would activate perks like Overcharge and Surveillance.

The real question is: Does it active Pop Goes The Weasel? And if it does, what happens if multiple generators are in the radius? Are they both effected or is the closest one chosen? Or is it chosen at random?

  • @DemonDaddy said:

That's on your teammates for providing easy targets to the killer.

It's usually that, but sometimes survivors have no other choice. For example, if a killer camps the survivor and the survivor is about to die, then the survivors either take a risk by going for the save, or let the person die on hook.

  • I honestly didn't even remember Barbara until the devs mentioned her.

Nancy and Steve are much more relevant.

I think it's comparable with "Bull's charge". You prepare an attack and them launch forward without being able to change your direction after you release it. The main question is if he gets slowed down while charging it. I hope not.

If he gets slowed down while charging it, then it's already game over. It'll be like a Doctor 2.0 who instead of charges Shock Therapy, charges a Lunge instead.

The idea of the lunge is interesting to me, but I can imagine that certain loops or short loops could be difficult for it.

  • I'm also very impressed with the perks we've just seen. In the Twitch chat, there were so many survivor mains crying about useless perks and OP killer perks, but in reality, these new perks help shake up the meta.

For too long have the only perks people consistently run been Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard

or NOED, Overcharge, Pop Goes, etc.

This grants more perk diversity and none of these perks are useless whatsoever. They all offer something unique to the table. It's just survivors are too scared to play a match without their beloved Adrenaline or DS.

(And this is coming from someone who players both survivor and killer 50/50). I am referring to survivor-mains when I speak that cry at anything a killer gets that is potentially threatening.

  • @TheUnendingNightmare said:

I would LOVE precision BUT wouldn't it make gen rush even easier ? Aren't the devs trying to work against that ?

That's why it would be for only survivors good at skillchecks. A ruin or lullaby would ruin your day if you arent consistent with skillchecks. The reason I only have skillchecks appearing more frequently with no improvement to success zone size is to hopefully try to stay away from things that will make genrushing easier.

1st Perk: Mayebe add something like "fake" chest(s) that will appear. If Survivor open that chest, they will got Exposed and no item will be given OR that instead of exposing Survivors give them that item but it will be like damaged (that item will have less charges or something) and it will repleace original chests (instead of adding new).

2nd Perk: This one is like Unnerving Presence. We allready have in game perk that have increases chance of getting skill-checks and this one on top of that reducing their size. I would prob pass on this one or it needs to do something very different than that. Also I found "just increase how offten skill-checks appear" not rly interesting and very "simple" perk.

My idea from this stems from Unnerving Presence. But this perk I created has the purpose of boosting your capability with doing gens if a ruin or lullaby is gone, or boosting capability with certain perks. All this comes without smaller skill check success zones, and without the rng of needing a killer to actually run the perk. It is a risk-reward perk.

And your idea of adding in maybe 1-2 fake chests that don't yield items is really nice. I actually like that a lot.

Thank you for your input. I doubt my ideas would ever be seen by the devs but I would love perks just like these. We dont need every perk to be top tier. These are just your nice niche perks.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I don't rly like these ideas, sorry. Not because these perks would be OP or garbage, just these whole ideas are not interesting to me.

That's fair. Thanks for the feedback. Is there anything that could make them interesting?

    For survivors:

Increase the pain noise reduction of No Mither to 100% when standing.

Change Mettle of Man to require 5 hits of any kind to become active.

Buff No One Left Behind to increase your altruistic action speed by 6% for each generator completed.

Increase the action speed increase of Resilience to 10% (why is it 9%??)

Buff Flip Flop to convert your recovery progress to wiggle progress at a 1:1 ratio instead of a 2:1 ratio. The max conversion is still 50%.

    For killers:

Change Spirit's prayer beads addon to only reduce the radius survivors can hear the whooshing sound by 16m.

Buff Fire Up to also affect missed attack and successful attack cooldowns.

Increase the amount of traps the Trapper can carry by default to 2.

Increase the base distance of hag's teleport by 8m.

Increase the movement speed and action speeds of feral frenzy to the values before the rework.

Make the Wraith's uncommon windstorm addon baseline.

I like your killer suggestions, and Flip Flop, Resilience, and NOLB.

  • I knew about the game since 2016 but I never thought that I would enjoy it. When it came as a free PS Plus game on PS4 in August 2018 I decided to try it and I have never once looked back. This is my absolute favorite game and although I didnt spend money to buy the game, I am grateful for the devs' hard work, so I bought all the characters and auric cells and will continue to support them so that they can continue to update and improve the game.

  • Do you mind explaining the purpose of this post? Is this another way of saying "NOED is OP pls remove".

I'm joking btw. But what actually is the point of this 🤔

  • Pig is still the one killer that can genuinely terrify me. Thank God for Spine Chill, though.

  • Pay attention to environmental disturbances such as crows flying away or returning, or movement in the grass.

  • @borna_lk said:

Unfortunately it was not a mistake. It’s arranged that way to force you to buy the whole outfit. For example the plague doctor outfit, I only want the head. But I can’t have it unless I spend 780 cells to get the whole outfit, and the devs know that. I bought a pack of 1,100 cells (first time ever buying cells) and picked up the Adam outfit, hillbilly ranger outfit and circus trapper outfit. They were each 300 and now I have 200 leftover which I think I’ll buy another 1,100 pack in the future and buy a Michael Myers outfit. If they make one it’ll probably be the same as pig and cost 1188

Thanks for the answer. That's unfortunate because I don't necessarily want every piece of the killer/survivor outfits. But ah well. It's a business move.

  • Honestly, I feel the Ebony Mori should only be able to kill 2 survivors so as to at least let the survivors still have a chance. The Ivory Mori is fine as is. And the Cypress Mori is just a fancy way to kill the last survivor.

With a rework on the Ebony Mori, then I also feel insta-heals can be reworked. I personally don't use moris besides the Ivory every once in a while. I find that the Ebony Mori strips the match of any fun and usually nobody gets a pip. Insta-heals are fun but can be game breaking for a killer in a match. If only the single-state insta-heals were left then I guess that would be okay. And then you could just introduce a new item in place of the ultra-rare insta-heal.

  • I think the Jane outfit looks the best.

  • I think a decent way to balance Decisive Strike would be to currently keep it as is, but I believe that if a survivor becomes fully healed within those 40/50/60 seconds, then DS should become inactive until the next time the survivor gets off a hook (unless DS was used already).
