Yeah I know a few who said some criticism and they temporarily banned. They clearly don't want to stay in business long. But hopefully they'll change their stance on how they are running the forums. :( would be sad to see the game die.
Some are fine, some less... Can't mention anyone, I don't wanna ban again :D
-
I mean, you can't lose a grade at least, but it would even more easy to reach max grade without any depips.
Then 250k reward would actually be fine for how easy this is.
-
Yeah, he needs quick-scope.
Deathslinger doesn't really suck as a killer, he is still better than some weaker killers like Clown, Legion, Myers, Freddie etc., but he sucks to play as, even Freddie is more fun to play now and that used to be most boring killer to me.
Because of longer ADS, I get same feeling as Huntress with Wind-up time addons. Problem is that unlike Huntress, Deathslinger has several limitations. He gets more punished for single miss, he can't down over pallet / far window, he has limited range, he has super tiny hitbox that is easy to dodge, his ADS sensitivity + FOV just sucks, so he can't even flick and he also has longer time to down on avarage than Trickster / Huntress.
ADS sensitivity + FOV were always bad, but noone did it, because of quick-scope, so it wasn't an issue before.
Deathslinger was played by FPS players a lot, because they could use skills they already had, but that's not a thing anymore after quick-scope nerf.

They only need 1 Person running boon perks for the solution, and it taking longer you have to think about walk times to get to the area, healing and then coming back, so you aren't saving much time doing it this way. You can easily get stuck in a 2 survivor 3 gen at lower surv/killer ranks idk what you are talking about? Do you not know what 3 gen is?
I'd also like to address this unwarranted toxicity you are throwing around "shamelessly" You are an entitled gamer who thinks everybody should play by a specific set of rules and if they don't they are bad. you are what's wrong with the gaming world today. I've been playing this game since release so I don't need to tunnel anyone out, unless its an absolute unit of a team and they destroy me, so you tunnel to get back some semblance of pressure. It's rare I use this method but sometimes you gotta change strategies to keep up.
For you to harp so hard over a comment about a "GAME" and to have developed a sort of guide that everybody has to follow or they should feel some sort of shame. I'd say You are the one out of touch with reality, and you just can't drop you're prejudice to see it.
"Then your gameplay was fundamentally flawed"
Yeah, but I am the entitled gamer, right? :D
Someone is hypocrit here and got into defensive mode super fast...
I am just saying that if you think that it's bad gameplay whenever you get into 3-gen with more than 2 survivors, then you are either super low MMR playing with trash survivors, or you tunnel super hard every game from start.
There is just no other option to explain it. Or you just said complete BS to justify your point, then you cry, when someone doesn't agree with you...
You have maps where you have to force 3-gen from start like Azarov's Resting Place, so it's not rare to get into 3-gen with 4 survivors and it is possible to win it.
I don't think it is possible with CoH, because all survivors can play independently, because they don't need anyone to heal them and you are just screwed there unless you have killer that can down them under 20 seconds.

i think even with tinkerer.. it'll be rough to say the least if it's a pure 4 man deathsquad..
Of course it will be hard, but it's just impossible for most killers. It is possible with Oni, but still hard.
Let's be honest, it's not easy with any killer...

You can easily win a 3 gen situation with boon totems in fact it makes it easier then having to deal with the old 3 gen self-care situation at least now survivors have to go to a designated area not just out of killer sight and heal. If you are in a situation where you have more then 2 survivors 3 gen Then your gameplay was fundamentally flawed and if your just fighting the uphill battle of slugging and letting survivors run away then, You are only delaying the inevitable.
Adding boon totems in as was said by numerous people "relocates survivors to a specific area" If you pay attention and see where they are coming from or going too you now have valuable knowledge of
1. there base of operations and
2. Whether or not that survivor has self-care (or is an aggressive repeat offender).
Then you formulate a simple plan of committing on the survivors who are actually pressuring the gen with self care while the boon healers are away. After that if you can get a successful down then turn your eyes on the boon healers for a quick down since you know what general area they will be in as they heal. This strategy works with up too 3 people on a 3 gen situation (1 for each gen essentially ) , However you never want to be in a 3 gen 3 person+ situation most people don't have the fortitude and brain power to power through it.
TLDR; Would you rather have survivors going to a specific place and healing or healing randomly with self-care everywhere.
my answer is -> healing randomly with self-care everywhere.
They would need 4 perks for that, not just 1 and it would take longer.
"more then 2 survivors 3 gen"
If I had two survivors I don't need 3-gen, #########? Who are you playing against that this is your standard? :D
I think you are little out of touch with reality, or you shamelessly tunnel someone each game.

in higher mmr though they do that because they want to deny you getting another hook off someone and that got you to give up the chase
then when you hit them you're either dealing with their ds or their unbreakable and either way getting pretty screwed
so in that sense the counterplay is getting completely momentum-killed by borrowed time
weaponized anti-tunnel perks are fun, no?
Yeah, but after DS, you just tunnel the ######### out of them..
Depends on killer tho, sometimes you just don't have time to eat DS.
But with Spirit? I don't care about your DS, you are getting down under 10 seconds anyway :D

Yes, snitches get hatches.
I love survivors like that, noone likes survivors hiding in corner whole game, just show me where he is and I will teach him the lesson...
My favorite thing to do is down survivor, then let him wiggle out and give him chance to show me other survivor for free hatch. They do it quite often.

What? Spirit and Nurse are M1 killers in the end. Does not matter if they Phase/Teleport the swing is a basic atk. Huntress, Blight, Trickster, DS, Billy, Bubba, plague, Demo, Twins, nemesis, and I guess Oni as well are the ones that are NOT M1 killers.
Yeah, that is my definition for M1 vs M2.
Easy question to decide who is who, does Sloppy butcher work with your power?

..spirit and nurse are not m1 killers
do you want i should link you several videos of t3 a minute into the game vs average survivors, with or without tombstone piece? only certain loops/map designs really disadvantage him from getting much stalk out of people but he often doesn't have much issue with green stalk addon
perk reliant because stuff like bamboozle/play with your food is quite necessary on the instakill setup to catch people out sometimes, but you can do a ton with the former even without the game ender addon...s
How that proves anything?
Yeah, you can get tier3 fast in open maps, or bad survivors.
Problem is that on some maps it takes way longer and with lot of pallets you might not even get down from it.
Sloppy butcher works on them, they use basic attacks for down, so that is m1 killer, isn't it?
Is Wraith m1 killer? he also uses his power to get closer to survivor.
Wraith used to be better than Myers, I am not sure how much bad it will because of that lunge nerf, so hard to tell.
What is your definition of m1 killer? That killer has to walk towards that survivor and down only with m1?
There is not many killers that fit that, so it wouldn't really be win to be best at it...
Cenobite is better I think, with correct perks.

unsure, even if he's really specific perk/addon reliant think he's pretty much the best m1 killer there is
Myers is one of the weakest killers, unless you have useless team-mates that are not able to look around and give him free stalk, but I wouldn't really balance around noobs...

When was deathslinger ever bad? He was B tier since release and is now low B high C
Well, that's not good either.
It's definetly not tier worth nerfing.
Most people don't care about his power-level, he was always worse Huntress, problem is that he is also just not fun to play now.
Deathslinger doesn't really suck as a killer, he is still better than some weaker killers like Clown, Legion, Myers, Freddie etc., but he sucks to play as, even Freddie is more fun to play now and that used to be most boring killer to me.

Deathslinger was played by FPS players a lot, because they could use skills they already had, but that's not a thing anymore after quick-scope nerf.
Quick-scope was only thing he was better at than Trickster / Huntress, so right now, there is just no reason to play him, unless you enjoy looking at old guy with [BAD WORD] up leg, but no kink shaming.
Zoning is same as Huntress, you just hold your power, but I don't know about you, it's way easier with Huntress, because of that FOV that Deathslinger gets looks terrible and she has bigger hitbox, so easier to hit.

Yeah, shadowstep is probably why I dislike these perks, no scratchmarks, lack of footstep audio because bhvr, IW, certain grass and stuff makes it really hard to track by blood.
I'm ok-ish with CoH, because people bring busted medkits daily so it isn't THAT much.
I think the correct way for CoH is 2, but may change depending on the map, just what I think.
Yeah, two might be fine. In case one survivor with boon is in chase a lot...
Thing is, that you don't need medkits, so you just use toolboxes instead.
1 perk that gives medkit to every survivors and killer can't really get rid of it.

The thing that bothers me the most is that, yesterday and today, it was usually 4 man after 4 man using boons (Idc about swf usually) but coordination + map offerings is why these perks should be changed in a more healthy manner.
It is a nightmare to play against these perks in indoor maps, on normal maps it can be annoying but just like you said not OP just strong.
I don't think multiple survivors with Circle of healing is correct way. It's different for shadowstep tho.
I would use only 1 per team, because every other survivor gets free perks (self-care + we'll make it) because of it and you just don't need more of them.
-
So how to deal with boon totem:
-Tunnel someone
-Camp someone
-Play Plague, Blight, Nurse, Spirit, Oni, Legion, Bubba
-Never play Wraith, Doctor, Deathslinger, Nightmare, Pig, Clown, Twins, Cenobite
-Use full hex build with Thrill of the hunt, so you will always now where boon is and it will take them tons of time to bless it
-Ignore it unless it is close to gen or hook, otherwise waste of time, unless you have this build ^^
-play survivor and destroy as many killers you can with it, so they nerf it
-

I never said they weren't strong, and nor would I. They are strong- I'd go so far as to say very strong in some circumstances- but what they're not is broken.
You can play around boon totems. They're not overwhelming and you're not powerless against them. I then went on to outline how and why they can be played around.
Regarding your last line, I agree. They're the exact same level of healthy and reasonable as NOED is.
They actually nerfed NOED, because NOED can't spawn over boon totem.
It's funny that survivor perk has priority over killer perk...
-
@jesterkind said:
First of all, everyone should stop whining and dramatising about this, they're not absurdly broken and it's absolutely possible to play around them. I've had a few games with them so far, and here's what I've gathered over that (admittedly very small) sample size of experience:
- Thrill Of The Hunt still absolutely works. It's not a tracking tool anymore, but it doesn't lose tokens when a totem is blessed, so unless they bless over it directly (which wastes even more of their time) it slows down their blessing actions by a lot, giving you time to interrupt or just otherwise ensuring they're off generators for longer.
- Oftentimes a survivor will run you towards their totem in a chase, and you can snuff it after you down them. Neither boon perks are at their strongest when a survivor is actively in a chase - no scratch marks is strong, but not overwhelmingly so - and so that's usually your best bet. Like reloading for Huntress/Slinger/Trickster/Clown, or breaking pallets for most killers, snuff the boon during your downtime after downing someone or after hooking them.
- Haunted Grounds still works, as previously mentioned, and instadowns in general are strong against CoH since it doesn't much matter if you're full health when you're Exposed. Similarly, addons that inflict Broken are going to be quite popular for a while, I'd wager.
- Doesn't hurt to slap Sloppy Butcher on your build, to give more blood for tracking and to slow down their healing by a marginal amount.
- BBQ is basically useless against a full boon squad (save for that extra BP, which is admittedly always nice), so I'd swap out for other tracking that doesn't rely on auras. Also, endgame builds are gonna be more useful now to give you a bit more of an edge if generators fly while boons buy them some time. I've had some use from No Way Out specifically!
This is absolutely a mechanic that can be played around with smart decisions and an adjustment of playstyle, and conveys slight benefits to the killer alongside the significant benefits to the survivor. This isn't hopeless!
Let me destroy that totem and I am happy.
Otherwise, they are not OK.
You can play around them -> yeah, but only with specific killer and perks, but you don't know you are going to face them, do you?
By that logic camping and tunneling is fine, because they could use perks, right? But for some reason you see people crying about it all the time, huh...
Undying was possible to play around too and it didn't save it...

you don't get what I am saying in most my matches I take out as many totems as I can find. in fact today the thing I am talking about actually happened all totems was clensed except the single totem with the boon on that totem. killer literally kicked the totem and two seconds later the last gen popped and NOED. I want the killer to break the totem when he kicks a boon so this don't happen. I as a survivor want to be able to clense the boon totems as well.
Sure, we want it from different reasons, but outcome is same.

That's probably smallest problem I have with it, but I agree it does make sense to work on blessing too.

Relitigated means "discussed", in this context. It has a formal connotation, like it's being discussed by lawyers in meticulous detail.
It doesn't make any sense to destroy it, though, that's the point. Boon totems are designed to provide a very specific mechanical change for both sides- they are not "survivor hex perks" and they're also not Inner Strength. Though, for the record, Inner Strength should probably be reworked because it is kind of useless now, I won't argue with that.
The point is for survivors to continually be dragged out of position to use a totem in the area of their choosing, that you as the killer can make into a deadzone and start initiating chases with survivors who aren't working on the objective. If the totem is destroyed when you snuff it, they'll constantly be on the move so they won't be returning to the same spot over and over.
There is no reason to leave gens, or chase for it. It's bigger waste of your time than survivors overall.
There is just too many benefits vs negatives.
You can recover alone any time you want -> saves your teammates time.
Everyone can use it -> basically free perk to everyone else.
Everyone can see where it is -> easy to use
As long at least 1 survivor heals there you gained time.
Only negative that it has is that killer can destroy it and waste 16 seconds of your time, but it's not like it didn't cost killers time too. They will have to leave gens or lose chase for it.
Only time where killer should do it is when you put it next to hook, or gen. Otherwise not worth it.
They will either have to nerf effect, which will be boring and make that perk useless, or let killer destroy that totem, so you have to make some effort using that perk and killer has actually reason to leave gens for it.
I love that perk and I am going to use it, even if killer can destroy that totem, because I am used to Inner Strength, so it wouldn't be problem to find new totem.
Right now it's just too good and it will destroy lot of killers.
There are killers that can handle it, well mainly killers that are able to down survivors fast and don't need to snowball.
It's basically 4x medkits, which is really pain to deal with as a killer. You need to move there to heal -> and? it's not like you would do it in front of killer anyway, when you are healing normally. So you would still move somewhere else, so not really big difference.
-
@EqMonkVeeshan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2574830#Comment_2574830
yea but lets say 1 gen left killer kicks a boon totem. totem remains and gen fires two seconds later and NOED is there. id much rather see killers break the totems. when they destroy boons.
But it's still bad, survivors know where that NOED is, so you will get one down from it at best. It would be actually better for you to destroy it, so you have chance it will spawn on totem, that survivors didn't find yet.
-
@jesterkind said:
Killers obviously shouldn't be able to break the totem, this has been relitigated multiple times over. A better solution to the boon totem spam would be something like a short to moderate (say thirty seconds, maybe?) cooldown on the perk itself, so you can't immediately rebless a totem once it's been snuffed.
relitigated?
not really. Some just don't agree with it, some do, because it makes sense to destroy it. It's not like killer can use it after it anyway, so there is no point to him keeping that totem there.
Why you should be able to do it again on same totem?
Inner strength and other totem perks like that can do it once per totem, why should this be different?
There is reason why it should be limited and you would have to make some effort using that perk. Right now you find 1 totem, do gens around it, so killer has no reason to go there and you are good to go and killer can't do ######### about it.
-
@EqMonkVeeshan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/288294/kicking-a-boon-totem-doesnt-destroy-the-totem
as some one who considered themselves more of a survivor main I agree with you the totem should be destroyed if the killer breaks it. but my reasoning is I do not want to see a killer kicking a totem it not break then noed pop up in that location when the last gen pops. I also feel that boon totems should be able to be cleansed by survivors, because well I need to cleanse totems for task. that should be part of the risk of running boon perks like it is for killers running Hex perks.
I think killers should be able to destroy totem, so survivors have to find new and make some efforts to make this perk work. It would be just like Inner Strength, but with better effect, because you can heal with it multiple times and it is shared for everyone. So it would be still really good perk.
Plaything nor Noed can't over-write boon, so there is not really point in keeping that totem for the killer. Unless you are lucky and get it before blessing, but at that point survivors know where it is anyway...

Modifying hook timers as a base mechanic is just a bad idea. Killers will abuse shorter hook times to eliminate players faster. And survivors will abuse longer hood timers to focus on gens/totems before making a rescue.
I honestly think what we have now is just the best we can do, they made some perks to help against camping, but they only do so much.
My real problem is the poor survivor that gets camped. I have had some matches were I get absolutely nothing. No bloodpoints, I lose pips, and grade progress, and MMR rank all because the game thinks I did nothing. In reality the killer found me 1st and downed me fast and I just get the short end of the stick. Going into a match just to lose everything and get to do nothing is the worst feeling ever.
Well, only idea I have left, is track duration NOT on hook, so you don't punish survivors from something that is out of their control.
EDIT: That doesn't help, survivors would start killing themself on first hook more.
-
@Knotty1985 said:
Given the range restrictions of boons, I don't see the issue, I played survivor last night with 3 mik's on most of my games and half the time the boons were out of my range, I also felt that the killers were lingering nearer them too so its an added risk to be near them.
Shadowstep is meme, but Circle of healing is broken if used right.
You don't want to stack them on multiple survivors, that is not "extra" perk for others, you wanna have 1 player with boon and you will have option to always recover solo. It's basically self-care + we'll make it for every other survivor. It gets more broken on multi-layer maps, because you have basically double range.
Another problem is that there is not really reason to leave gens for it, survivors will just do it again. I think killer should be able to destroy that totem, so you have to find new one. It would be close to Inner Strength with that change and you would have to make some effort in using it. It would still be way better Inner Strength.
It's also weird that survivors can over-write hex, but plaything or noed can't do it with boons, which just sucks.
-
Plague, ghostface, trapper are good.
Pig addons was good changes overall. Tampered timer was kinda broken and that comes from killer main, so I don't mind that nerfed.
I agree with Wraith, Deathslinger and Circle of healing.
Shadowstep won't get into meta imo, but it would be really annoying meme build for SWF like sabbo builds etc. RPD offering + 4x shadowstep will be hell to face.
Bugs are problem of course.

@Jerek said:
Facecamping for me is sorta rare so I feel like no one really builds specifically around this tactic.
But I have always make kindred base kit and it helps so much in solo, not just camping but everything.
Camping is okay at end game or 1 gen remaining. But very 1st down near the start is just scummy.
Yeah, problem is that you can't fix it without nerfing end game camping, or proxy camping and those should stay imo.
Maybe affect timer based on how many gens are left? That might do the trick.
-
@Knotty1985 said:
face camping should automatically slow down the timer of the hooked person by at least 50%, I don't mind killers who sit a certain distance away and stalk the hooked person to catch others but at least thats a motivated chance / risk to save someone compared to a guaranteed knock.
BT shouldn't be an essential part of the build just to save someone from a camper.
So you will get tortured for longer time? No thanks.
It's not like more time will help your experience, it would make it worse actually.

I don't know that system is just so ######### confusing that I can't tell what my MMR is at. Some games I get good survivors, some games I get bad survivors.
Kinda only way to guess your MMR is based on survivor's playtime, but yeah not really good way.

what I really want to know and see is how far you get her mmr and when you hit your own personal wall of skill how well she fairs compared to other killers at that same level. That is when we will truly know if she's doing good or if shes been decently nerfed down.
I wish we could see MMR as personal info at least.
It would be really fun to find out how far I can get without slow-down perks...

Yeah, I don't it was that big nerf, she is still top 5 killer imo.
Some of her new add-ons are really fun to use.
Mainly I don't need to feel bad for playing her. Well, survivors still stopped playing a lot.

Want to use your power? Cooldown
Want to not use your power anymore? Cooldown
Missed shot? Cooldown and reload (another cooldown)
Just fun stuff you know.
You forgot:
Want to stay in your power? Lower sensitivity and FOV

Personally the Clown and spirit are my hardest to play against I suck so bad when I go against them. But I'm not really a survivor I'm more a killer and I love playing pig manly cuz she is not scary and sometimes I get funny survivors. And as a killer I hardcore suck as a Huntress I'm ok with Deathslinger but not as good as the pig lol
I play Pig mainly for Boop the Snoot. It sucks that I can't kill those survivors after it... rules are rules
She has such any easy counter-play, buff for the Pig!
I had one game where everyone I sneak up on, just boop the snoot. Yeah, 4 escapes that game...

Well he was one of my worst killers to play against when he released and after bitching about it I decided to just play him more. Made playing against him easier and that made me just play him more. Ranged killer > M1 killer except blight. Being a Huntress main and a big FPS player it only made sense to play those two. I do nothing but knife and tomohawk in call of duty and play other shooters so. But I think his time to down is only worse because trickster got buffed and to some he's still ass. I don't think he is but I can see it. But idk I guess RIP DS. Seems fine to me but you def play him more than me but nobody likes getting shot near instantly so here we are.
I didn't mind playing against him, because I had so many hours on him, so I was really good at predicting, when he will shoot and could dodge it. I just dodged when I would shoot :D
Again my issue is not power-level really, I just hate how it feels to play him now and I don't have any reason to play him now instead of just Huntress, or Trickster.
Deathslinger was fun, because of quick-scope, he was never really good as a killer. 1v1 was only good thing about him, he still has better 1v1 than most killers. So I don't think he is worst killer by any means, he isn't even top 5 of worst killers, but I just hate how it feels to play him. It's not fun imo, Huntress is way better as a killer and more fun, I think Trickster is around same power-level as Deathslinger now, but he is also more fun for me, because I don't have to deal with that ######### ADS.

I play as the pig and for the first time in years played as the Trapper. Got 4k with my pig 3 out of 5 matches and a 3k with my 1 match of Trapper. So you tell me dude lol
That doesn't mean they are good...
I am Legion main and get 4k in most of my games, but when I face dead squad I know I am going to lose, because they know Legion's weaknesses and play around them.
Just because you can get 4k, doesn't mean that killer is good, it just means that you are better as player than those survivors you played against.
