I only like the 3 original maps that we all know and love.
-
I used to think you could just let the skill-check pass by and hit it at any time.
-
No they don't anything, stop complaining and suck it up, if we have to sit there and get stabbed over and over again, then you're going to have to sit there and deal with the insults for playing such a ######### killer. Sorry not sorry, either that, or close the chat.
-
@Shad03 said:
@Detective_Jonathan Fair enough.
But they do require skill, and the stab n' run is playing as intended. We LoL Clan heavily discourage exploiting the chase system. A Lagion is a hundred times worse though, cause it's like playing online with some dude who plays with McDonald's wifi, on Mars. That is the one and only exception I'll give to dcing.
no they don't, Legion is just a simple killer where you run and stab, that's it. There is no skill to it that needs to be required at all when all you can do is just that. There is no skill to it.

@Detective_Jonathan To be fair, my friend buddy pal detective, I don't think they're depressed, I'll agree on edgy. Frank killed the man, but had everyone else stab the man.
Also The Plague didn't (purposely) kill anyone, she may be hyper religious, but I can see her as being more survivor then killer.
@Shad03 I'll take Depressed out of the equation to avoid controversy, but i still don't like being killed by them, Legion requires no skill to play, it's just stab and run away, or sometimes even look away and chase the guy backwards. It's just so infuriating to me and i don't find it cool nor funny.
The only time i myself would ever touch that group is when i either have a daily or i just want to torture them and not kill anyone.
-
Because i don't like getting killed by some Depressed, Edgy group of teenagers that think they're all that simply because they killed one guy, when in actuality, it was really only one of them that did the killing
-
Not a bad idea, i like this, but of course BHVR and its mods probably don't even read these things, so this will probably get pushed back to somewhere else.

People are putting way to much stock in this fog whisperer #########. I can't see why anybody cares that he's dcing at the end of the game. The survivors got to play and got there points. He got to play and stream for his audience. He's hurting nobody.
Because when you're holding a specific title in hopes of getting people to know who you are and the thing that you are supporting, it is best to act like an adult, and not some child on the internet.

when a streamer is "warned they are close to getting banned" that is preferential treatment.
Pretty much this, One Fog whisperer who is an occasional De-ranker was warned by not_Queen herself.
-
What have they done right? Well it sure as hell ain't
- Added in a ######### killer that people use because they suck in chases and can't actually get better at the game
- Incorporated a ######### program that people abuse time and time and again, to the point to where it should be considered up for suspension (Fog Whisperer)
- Actually inducting something completely stupid that is for sure going to cause a whole lot of drama (Twitch Challenges)
- Just putting out new content simply because they know the numbers are going down and are trying to bring back more people.
In Conclusion. BHVR and it's staff have done nothing right up to this point besides screw up after screw up after screw up. I think that these guys are too afraid to take action because they are afraid of the backlash of what they might do. IF that is not the case then someone please feel free to respond. You even have someone who is an expert in business, who seems to actually be good in the field, actually KNOWS how to run a project because he is an expert in the field, yet, you guys have this company, and you can't even manage one game?

@Detective_Jonathan Yeah, I'm going to be honest: Many of their moves, especially in the past six months or so, have really made me sit back and wonder what the hell the decision makers are thinking. Do they just not have enough knowledge of gamer psychology, and are simply crunching numbers and deciding where to go? That's not something you do in the industry. You have to combine the two. You have to absolutely understand gamers.
Us gamers can ######### and moan all we want about companies like Blizzard, but they understand gamer psychology in a way I have rarely seen from a video game company. It's why they are where they are. Hell, I know what they're doing, I've done it myself to gamers in the table-top RPG industry and made bank with it, and yet Blizzard still gets me to fall for it time and time again.
Gearbox is another one with what they do with the Borderlands series. They play into gamer psychology very well.
I mean, granted, I'm only looking at Behavior from the outside and I've zero knowledge of what goes on at the offices, but as a gamer, customer, and someone that's successfully marketed and sold to gamers, they are really giving me pause.
And to be honest, without a serious "Operation Health" period for Dead by Daylight, and a rework of systems like the Perk RNG grind just to be able to play DbD as intended and experiment with builds without first needing 1k+ hours in the game (which is the biggest stated turn-off to new players, and likely their primary cause for a lack of new player retention), I don't know what to do. On the topic of the RNG grind, it's so bad now for new players that it makes the EQ1-era MMOs pale in comparison. And that is not why people play a PvP genre game.
Hey @Peanits and @not_Queen Perhaps you guys should take what this guy is saying into consideration. Think you guys could need/use it.

@Detective_Jonathan Thank you for the compliment. I'm far from perfect and I am not all-knowing by any stretch, but I've spent close to 25 years in the entertainment business. Though I am a fiction author at my core, I've also worked in television, sports-entertainment (i.e. wrestling), comic books, table-top RPG, and briefly in video games.
I do have a decent grasp of marketing and comsumer psychology as it pertains to entertainment. Like I said, though, I'm not flawless or all-knowing, and will screw up or be wrong about something. Hell, I've even had the oddball product that just failed to pan out with the customers. Like anyone else, I've had success and failures. It happens.
Not trying to flex, mind you, just stating where what knowledge I do have comes from.
Flex all you want dude, i would rather someone like you steering the ship than someone like BHVR, because at this current rate, i think the ship is sinking.

@Kilmeran Seems to understand how business works tbh. He seems to have this very good "Tell it like it is personality" which i think we need more of here on this forum.
The Fog Whisperer program is nothing but a program filled with people that are trying to put themselves in a forced-positive mindset, which i think is something that shouldn't be healthy for people nor business.

The thing is, sure. it might be a point that you can argue that if you run into sweaty swf that are rushing gens, and no ones getting points anyways? Maybe.
However not for Vince. I hate to say it, but he is a role-model. If he likes that official endorsement, and I know he does, then he needs to remember that his actions have a ripple effect. It's just how it is. He should try to make the ass-stompingly bad game funny for his viewers, and step away from it emotionally.
Dude is a grown man probably pushing more than anyone can handle, he should always be aware of his actions, no matter what. But for the younger people it don't seem to click for them.

@SmokePotion I was reading this post.. I don't disagree with it if people would like that. I'm just making a comment about your comment on "Vince"... I like vince too.. some people see me in his lobby the odd time when I'm near his rank and can snipe in. I enjoy his entertainment with DBD, can be pretty funny.
But the comment about intentionally DC'ing?... He does that.. Probably once a night... For the same reasons most do it.. There is something unfun about a particular situation from the start or during the match and they are gone.
For example.. Get mount Osmond with Vince as killer.. You'll most likely get a DC from him. You slug him while you sweat as a killer to prevent the 4th survivor from getting hatch and hunt them instead of hooking Vince... You'll get him DC'ing.
No offense to Vince or anything, I enjoy his content, but what you said is incorrect. I've watched him pretty regularly for almost 2 years now.
TBH I think everyone at some point as DC'ed... Especially if they have a few hundred hours plus. I would be a hypocrite if I said or pretended I haven't.
Everyone has dc'ed one guy told me he never dc'ed but i just chalked it up to him kissing major ass trying to get up there and be a Fog Whisperer.
There is no one in this game that has not dc'ed in their entire time of playing this game.
-
Well, there really isn't much, what we know so far is that he/her was the creator of the hatch, at some point he was the one that found out he could bend the rules in The Fog and turn everything in his favor.
The last thing we found out was that he is no longer around and has since disappeared, leading a lot of people to speculate he is either a killer or in The Void.
-
@Bbbrian2013 Yea i had no idea you could make the decision on when discussions were over, teach me your ways buddy.

If BHVR is still losing players during a free weekend, then that is just sad. Ya'll can't even maintain a good playerbase because you guys just suck at management and you suck at giving people specific titles.
I bet they didn't even think about it when they were asked if they could get one, they just handed them out because most of them are friends with not_queen or something.

@twistedmonkey, I'm sorry, but that is not accurate. When they applied to become a Fog Whisperer, they applied to be part of a partnership program supported by Behavior to help market and promote the game in exchange for whatever perks came along with it. As such, they are part of the official public face for Dead by Daylight.
The goal is to promote Dead by Daylight to bring people into the game, thereby facilitating sales of the base game and potential DLC sales as well. That means their Streams are now part of the Dead by Daylight marketing model. This is the same for Bajheera over in World of Warcraft, FeyRazzle or 1HP in the Paladins program, Baggins_TV, Thor, Krippler, and others for Realm Royale, and so forth. They accepted the partnership to help promote and market the game, and become a Twitch face for it.
When they encourage their viewers to go and attack Steam and Twitch accounts of opposing players or viewers, or DC because they don't like a Killer or how a match is going, or purposefully derank to go against lower-skilled opponents because "it's more fun to watch," they are thereby marketing a toxic behavior pattern within Dead by Daylight. They are marketing it to any existing customers as well as potential new customers that might have stumbled into their stream as a means of researching the game before purchasing. And displaying that type of community face could drive away potential sales.
Heck, there was a poster in another thread about this topic that stated he did just that: checked out a Stream to see what the game was about, saw that type of behavior, and walked away. He has the game now only because his friends gifted him the base game and DLCs to get him to play. But after seeing one of those Fog Whisperers as his first experience with DbD, decided not to purchase the game.
Fog Whisperers are not the same as other DbD Streamers. They sought out and were accepted into a marketing partnership. Now, while they shouldn't necessarily be banned from the game, they should be terminated from the Fog Whisperers program and reduced to the status of just the "average DbD streamer." They should no longer be part of the official marketing face for DbD.
Good Lord the man has spoken, Hey BHVR, instead of placing people that can't act accordingly with a model status nor take any bit of criticism, how about you give it to the people with the right mind set.
I said the same thing, the people that do these things should be temporarily suspended from the program, but it was met with "He is just attacking streamers" or "He's being a drama instigator" whenever i go into the streams, they are always the ones talking #########, i never initiate any conversation with them, and then i see their stupid chat going ape ######### about it and it just pisses me off even more.
BHVR, i know i give you aot of support since you added in Detective Tapp, but i shouldn't have to sit there and worry about who i am going against or playing with. This ######### has got to stop, listen to your playerbase and listen to your community.
The only reason these people are still streaming this game, is simply because it is a form of income, they don't even enjoy the game anymore, they only play it because it brings in the money, why the hell would you even bother holding some kind of status, if you don't even enjoy the damn game? It doesn't make any sense.
Get rid of it Devs, it was a stupid system to come up with, and it was a stupid decision to give these people this kind of title, when their behavior in-game is ridiculous.
-
Get rid of the Fog Whisperer Program.
-
@Kilmeran said:
@SmokePotion, See Vincent Vega is a good example. Yeah, the guy has a mouth, but that is part of his stream format, whether he's streaming DbD or some other game that night. But in the DbD matches, I've yet to ever see him DC on purpose or derank on purpose. As far as I can tell, he plays DbD by the rules. I have zero issue with Vincent being a Fog Whisperer.
I have no issue with how a Streamer chooses to handle their steaming format and style. If I enjoy it, I'll stay. If not, I'll switch to another channel. Just like any other TV entertainment. But when they start promoting toxic in-game behavior, the purposeful DCs based on Killer or getting downed early in the match, or throwing matches and deranking on purpose, then I draw the line. They should no longer be Fog Whisperers. They should never have been selected in the first place. Simple as that, no excuses.
@Detective_Jonathan, That is exactly what I feel needs to happen at this stage.
It's a simple process that can be done, You have people dedicated to the bug fixes and stuff, and you have your community management team deal with this issue, it's a win-win scenario/situation, it should not be taking this long for something to be done about it.
And then low and behold, one of them take a snippet of this and put it on the twitter, with nothing to say but "LOL" or "DBDs official Forums is starting to look like the DBD reddit" this ######### has gone to far.
Let me stop before i start talking about the, because if i do then i'm gonna end up getting jailed/banned.
-
Survivor: Everyone Except Ash, Nea, Bill and Laurie.
Killer: Spirit, Wraith, Hillbilly and Huntress.
-
How about we suspend the program and revamp it?
Put better people that actually deserve the title?
People that actually can take some form of criticism and are not complete ######### making passive-aggressive comments to their opponents.

@Bongbingbing, Which is the precise point some of us kept bringing up in Fall 2018 when the program was announced and the initial names revealed. That certain among them DC'ed and deranked, and openly defended it. The main offender then turned out to be a Mod in Cote's stream. Go figure.
Of course, we all got ignored. Even when we tagged CMs about the issue. Then the offenders and their posse rode into the forums, several making their first posts ever, to defend the practice all in the name of keeping their streams entertaining.
But hey, enjoy the DC and Deranking epidemic that continues to get worse in this game. After all, the marketers that Behavior chose to align themselves with promoted it in the first place.
I made a post one time talking about the topic, And most of them came at me and witch-hunted, harassed me for it. Some of them even made up stories saying i harassed them to begin with. Even when some of them did things wrong in the game, i called them out on it in the forums and it got locked because they said that i made the effort to instigate more action from them.
These guys have made my gaming experience miserable. Saying i am a bad person and that i am not an all around good person to be around. When they don't even know me, i know more about them, just by lurking and watching their stream, to know that these guys are not good people.
They can't even come and talk to you like an adult and reason with you, instead they have to act like baboons and resort to taking things personally and post it on twitter, one of them is even on the forums to begin with.
But is that going to stop me from calling these people out? No, From now on though i am just going to clip it, and then i am going to go out of my way to make sure something is done about these people, every single one of them.

Well it's not really an impostor, as anyone couldn't be able to do it as they would be lacking the Dev-Community Moderator Tag
So that leaves the whole impostor thing out the window (Although i could be wrong about it and i am just jumping to conclusions)
There is something you can do on your computer that will allow you to change the wording, i know this because during my time in high school, some people would change their grade from an F to an A, thus whenever their parents went to check their grades it would come up as an A instead of what it originally was.
I think it's called "Inspect Element" or something like that.
This right here, further proves my point.
@PhantomMask20763 As you can see, this isn't what you said lol as i simply changed the wording to you adding how i am the best, Although, i don't know how someone could simply change the wording so everyone can see it, and not only one person.

@Detective_Jonathan, my 25-year-old son is a part-time streamer just for fun (his real job is store management at Best Buy), and yes: drinking alcohol on the stream is a violation of the Twitch ToS and can result in your channel being terminated. So is using your channel to attack other streamers or viewers.
And due to the minimum required age of 13 to have a Twitch account, I've found that at least in the case of alcohol, if they do catch it while you're Live, or you're dumb enough to post the VoD, they sometimes will terminate your channel.
Just for clarification, my son has never been sanctioned or shutdown. He abides by the ToS, as do a majority of Streamers. But thanks to him, I've read the Twitch Streamer ToS and other documents repeatedly, since I'm considering starting a Stream for my fans (I'm an author by day).
So reporting will do nothing because they'll delete the VOD, unless you take a clip of them sipping Alcohol in that very moment and report it.
Twitch is damn joke dude.
-
@Kilmeran said:
@Justified, Something else: You mentioned that certain Fog Whisperers will have their communities attack people on Twitch and on Steam. If the Streamer is clearly and blatantly taking such action, file a complaint with Twitch. They will be investigated and potentially shutdown. Twitch allows people on the platform as of the age of 13, meaning there are underaged veiwers and players in Twitch. They have to take action, or risk potential lawsuits.
As an example, a Streamer is not allowed to drink alcohol on the Stream. I've encountered a couple that have done so repeatedly and openly. I filed complaints with Twitch, and in both instances the channels were shutdown.
Being a Twitch Streamer is a business. As a real-world business owner, I am bound by State and Federal regulations. If I go into a partnership on a project with another company, I am bound by those guidelines. Fail to adhere, and there are repercussions, in some cases the loss of your business. The same applies to Twitch Streaming.
So, if they are actually having their communities take such actions on their behalf, go to Twitch about it. That is a huge no-no. Behavior should be concerned as well, since it is happening based on play-time in their game, they've officially sponsored said Streamer, and the player being targeted could be under 18 since Steam is also a minimum age of 13.
So you mean to tell me, that this entire time, these Fog Whisperers hold Drinking streams and drink on stream, when it is against TOS on Twitch?
I think this fuels my hate for twitch and the people under it even more. If Twitch is supposed to be your "JOB" then why the hell are you drinking while doing your "JOB" because it doesn't make sense to sit there and have a "JOB" and drink alcohol, thus resulting in you saying things and end up having your channel shut down, thus losing your "JOB"

Agree. I should be allowed speak my mind about a game I have a lot of passion for. Plenty of people on here speak about this to hope to see others opinions and thoughts.
Im not trying to attack @Detective_Jonathan here. But coming in telling me if I’m leaving just do it.
Thats a bad way to look at it. By me saying this on forum I’m hoping some people tell me information to reassure me and make me change my mind.
I got SOOOOO hyped over ash coming out. I’m a huge evil dead fan. Paid my €5 to get the character and I think all in all I’ve played maybe 8 games with him. Imagine spending your own hard earned money on something and not being able to get your money’s worth from it ?
I bought this game in 2016 when Halloween was released, so i think i got my moneys worth already. Like i said, if you want to impact the devs, you don't need to sit there and express it through words, express it through your actions.
After all, Actions Do Speak Louder Than words.
I just don't think it's wise telling the devs that you're leaving, i mean yes it's basically another dollar sign leaving their pocket, but in all honesty i don't think they would really care because as one dollar sign leaves, another enters.

Justice is blind for one reason, and that reason is to treat everyone the same way. Doesnt matter if you are caucasian, gay, black, asian or in these case a survivor or a killer...
The game still has a lot of potential, hopefully when devs fix the problems we'll see it's redemption...
I hope I've helped you with what I've said about justice, I know you are not a bad person and I hope you get to be a detective one day...
You're the first person that instead of insulting me and my name, actually understood why i called myself a "Detective"
I understand what justice means, and while it is Blind, it is also Equal. I'm not a bad person, I don't want to be considered a bad person, i just want to be able to say what i want, without someone who does nothing but sit and play games...take offense to it.
Thank You

Yeah the issue with the Threshold is that it is based on a percentage rather than a fixed number. Since streamers play allot, usually, they will never reach a percentage threshold.
We all know the only reason they're still even touching this game is simply because it pays the bill, they don't enjoy the game anymore because there is nothing fun about it anymore.
ZubatLeL (Not naming and shaming so chill out) had to take a break and play Apex because he found it hard to even play DBD.
Hell man, you can't even say anything about someone or else you either get jailed or banned.
@Bbbrian2013 That is something that also pisses me off about those guys, they sit there and make these little passive-aggressive comments and then sit there and insult the killer is they even slightly manage to kill them. But they can't even do anything to them simply because they are bringing in the money flow, that's how business works.
@Kilmeran Wait, you mean to tell me that he came onto this very forum and did that? Why is it that someone who is supposed to hold some type of model status can't even act like an adult on the forums? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

2: Maybe if people keep leaving the game devs will finally see there is a problem...
Justice is blind. Also, maybe if everyone leaves then good, maybe the game has finally run its course.
-
I have 2 questions
- Who are you?
- What do you think you are going to accomplish by telling the forums you're leaving the game.
-
You can't say anything about their Fog Whisperers, if you do, they end up tweeting about it on twitter lol, hell i know someone on here that likes to do such thing and he ain't even a Fog Whisperer, dude needs help.
In all seriousness though, people ask me why i hate Twitch and why i hate the people that call streaming a "job". It's a simple reason tbh, Most streamers that i see are only in it mostly for the money, they don't care about the people in their chat, nor do they care about anything as long as they can get some money out of it.
Now, some would go on to say that not all streamers are in it for the money, and tbh, the only streamers that me myself genuinely enjoy is Annemunition, or some other small streamer that i watch on occasion.
DBD streamers are a special kind of breed though, with these streamers i hate both them and the community they have created, and it's not because of them making a name for themselves or anything. It has something to do with exactly what OP has said in his thread, and sometimes you can't even say things about said streamers because they always take it to heart, and they make a big deal about it.
They sit there and make these little passive-aggressive comments, just so they can sit there and make themselves look good in front of their audience that it just really puts me on edge, and then you have people out there sending them their own hard earned money simply because they "get them through the day" that it just sickens me to my stomach, a cup of coffee gets me through the day, not some half assed person who sits on their ass playing video games.

I agree that the game has been, and is very frusterating for both sides. The game is amazingly fun, but if you are too competitive as I was for a while, you can start to feel like the losses are personal. An affront to your skill level.
I think the ppl threatening to quit playing are doing so out of desperation. They probably feel like all of their concerns are going unanswered or like they are not being heard by the developers. Many of them have made the posts, vented their frustrations and offered suggestions, only to be responded to with mainly negative and toxic input from the game communities and this one as well. Nothing ever reassuring comes from the devs as to how or when any REAL fixes to balancing will happen. These people are hoping and praying that by threatening to not play, the devs might finally respond.
While I get their frustrations, I have learned to play the game for fun 😄 Experiment with different builds and STOP BEING AFRAID TO LOSE! You wont ever find your greatest character and build until you just throw yourself at it and try without caring about the outcome :) If people get toxic just BE NICE and show your the bigger person. GG them and find a way to compliment what that player did in the match. Keep trying and even do some meme builds to keep yourself humble. Im telling you if people do this the toxicity will die out (Just a little bit)....lol. *Good ol Monto*
Leaving isnt the answer tho ppl

Like, i understand the devs are trying their hardest, anyone with a brain could understand that, but everyone with their stupid "Nerf This" "Buff This" and all the crying, and whining, and complaining, and all the people doing these things and nothing being done about it just drives me insane. Seriously, everyone complaining about how long it is taking for this and that to come don't know how to program a game, hell, i don't know how to program a game and i know for damn sure it would take a long time to do certain things.
It's funny, all of you talking ######### about this game, still wasting your money on it, still waking up playing it, still losing sleep playing this game, not having a social life because you're playing it (As if you ever had one to begin with) just need to stop. Go outside and feel the sun on your skin and wind hit you in the face, take a break, go see your friends, for crying out loud do something instead of crying.
Rant Over...I'm going to go drink some coffee.

I spent some time making this before commenting.

I'm just taking a break, Spirits bugs make nothing worthwhile in the game, and not fun, and metal of man is like REALLY easy to counter with STBFL, but I can't have much fun without Spirit 😦
@Poweas Dude you're fine, at least you don't go out of your way to sit there and make a thread explaining why expecting people to take your side.

There are so many things i want to say about the community and everyone in it. But because i actually have a brain, I'm not going to go into it.

Yes i'll still be playing, i'll keep playing this game until they push out The Final Chapter and shut down the game. My real question is can all these TTV nerds hold out. lol
When you release the only reason every Fog Whisperer and stream stays playing the game is because it's their only source of income and they can't make any money playing any other game.

Doesn't change their statement: no safe spots for Survivors.
I didn't say it should, but to sit there and talk about it and make passive aggressive comments at people for running such things because they don't want to mind-game is kinda absurd.
@SpaceCoconut I don't have time to feel safe when running from a killer lol, i just try to use whatever i can to get away, Trying to avoid them is my main concern, not try and get inside their head and know what they are thinking, sure, i do it sometimes but most of the time i am running for my life.

Yes, I am. If the killer is near you, you shouldn't feel safe. That's the basis of a horror game.
Because chasing is the only real way to deal with it. If you leave the area, a few things can happen:
- The survivor realizes they have an area that lets them escape for free, and will thus run for the same structure every single time they're being chased.
- Other survivors see what went on and realize they have an area that lets them escape for free, and will thus run for the same structure every time they're being chased.
- Other survivors will loop the same structure, just because they know how much of a time waster it is. They will then realize that they have an area that lets them escape for free, and will thus run for the same structure every single time they're being chased.
None of these scenarios are beneficial to the killer. All they do is give survivors free escapes.
Most of the time when i play killer i don't see survivors using that same structure because someone used it. I just don't think it would make sense to complain about it.

Regarding the first part of your comment: that is what the devs themselves stated numerous times as a reason for removing infinites back in the day. Survivors are not intended to have safe spots.
Which is why they included something called "Entity blocked"
