Licensed Characters brings new people to the game. Everyone loves playing their favorite horror icons as well as against them (usually). OC is needed though since they could come up with crazy and good ideas.

The next room where the vault leads also has the exit at the same side. The killer does not have to follow u there either. He can use the doors and make u vault 3 times to block the vault because u have no other way to exit these rooms but the doors on his side. He is not wasting any time beucase you assume the other 3 have found something. If you havent understand by now gens don't have tracing devices and this map IS HUGE. Gens are really hard to find. Anyway my point was that these pallets re usually unsafe so he can get the survivor pretty easy if he always stay on the side of the doors. It is just such a terrible map with so many killer sided moments.
I'm Rank 1 Surviving, Midwich isn't huge, and the Gens on that map aren't hard to find at all. I'm not saying the design of Midwich isn't bad because there are areas where it can be better, but it's not impossible.
-
Who cares? Use whatever perk you want. Any perk can be countered and no one has the right to tell you what you can and can't play. I sometimes run NOED for endgame builds, rarely get the chance to use it because I 4k them before the end of the match and still get called sweaty/try-hard and a pathetic Killer for having it. Sore losers will be sore losers.

See that is the major problem here if you are talking about Midwich. You enter the room, you throw a pallet and then you run where ? Do you realise majority of the exit are on the same wall ? Basically the killer never has to commit to that pallet he can play around the exit doors which killers do and you have no way out. The design of that map is really tettible. Like the devs forgot some basics of their game. I have also seens rooms with just one exit which means a killer can block you unside let say during endgame and you will die eventually
My top 3 most terrible maps now are Midwich, Hawkins and Shelter woods /all for survivors/.
And if they only play around the exit doors, they waste time on a chase where 3 other Survivors do gens. There's also typically vaults into the next room. I wasn't even referring to Midwich either but Hawkins.

Beats old prestige skins. You ever seen Trapper or Hag? Literally just painted red, doesn't even look like blood.
-
Neither
-
You also run into Killers purposefully running over to hook survivors so that others can't unhook him.
-
If you tweak the overheating timer to be longer, he's honestly not even that bad. Oni was literally the tempered version of old billy and he was NEVER seen as bad. Now they are equal opposites. One works "early" game (Billy) and the other works "late" game (Oni).
-
All the pallets are playable. It's a different strategy than just "mind gaming" on a loop, throwing pallet, and moving onto the next one. You have to constantly run to different tiles.
-
Ranks and Pips literally don't matter in this game. In fact if you keep depipping, that's good because it means you can have an easier time learning the new Killer on people who are also learning with you and hopefully won't be as toxic.
-
If you use Plague's power a little less, you'll pip more.
-
Only reasonable issue I hear about Billy is that his overheating charges up too fast. Ignoring all the other toxic people, that's the only thing I can conclude on. I've only heard of Bubba being buffed in a good way.
-
I've heard nothing but praise for Bubba, no idea what you mean on that. And I just came back so idk all the changes they made to Billy.

......... but you earn it's effect.
Devour Hope is fine because you have to work really hard for it. It relies on you getting at least 3 downs, hooks and running away from them in the time that they hopefully don't find a SINGLE totem to be cleansed.
And what if Killers got 4-8 hooks before their NOED activated? Is it still unearned because they did very well in the game but didn't get anyone ultimately Killed before the exit gates were powered due to X reasons?

It's definitely not fine as it is. The perk is at its strongest when all the gens are repaired. You really think 20% faster picking up/vaulting/pallet breaking is gonna make up for taking up a perk slot?
It does when paired with Brutal Strength or Bamboozle or both. Again, depends on the build you run. I've come out on top with Fire Up alone since it's stats boost EVERYTHING instead of one specific area.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
Yes, it can be countered, but you're relying on the inconsistency of randoms to get the job done for a majority of matches. Gen-rushing also hurts players more than they realise, not just the killers they go against.
I would also question which killers you're playing and if you even deserve to be at Rank 1 if you are just getting handed kills with NoED. The current ranking system shouldn't be gamed by a badly designed perk to get someone up to the highest levels of play.
Getting a 4k every game is also not a true sign of a good killer to me, it's more about the pain you inflict on the survivors with a 4k being a nice end reward. If you were able to get to red with only ONE kill per game, you'd have way more of my respect than being carried by NoED.
I know this all sounds harsh, but you make it sound like you've been carried by NoED. It is not health in it's current state, and changing Exposed notice to instant, rather than on first hit and it only activating after 5 generators have been completed to bring it in line with all the other perks is the only way that you'll be even close to getting me to agree with you. I have been punished by it too many times for everyone else refusing to do totems.
Except Devour Hope works similarly which notifies your exposure on the first hit of the token.
-
NOED is fine as is. Different strategies and perks to counter it. Anyone who says that people who use NOED are bad Killers are stuck in some mindset of an imaginary rule that NOED is a banned perk and should never be use. Also, if a Killer ran NOED but wiped your team before they got deep enough into the match to use it, are they still bad?
-
So you made a discussion to say you disagree with some cuck on Twitter who thinks consoles suck and PC is the superior race? Carry on.
-
It's fine as it is, especially if your build is for endgame or a snowball effect. It's not used for the purposes of "losing" as you call it.

Even when I 4k on the map I just don't have fun with the match. The map is annoying to play on.
I've played this game for years and I still couldn't tell you what Haddonfield is. I HAVE seen the fact I get sent more often to the corn maps and Myer's map than I do anything else but it's only speculation.
-
Or.. you know... you could learn how to git gud on that map?
-
Something I forgot to add was people including ridiculous DS posts like the one a few moments ago how they'd rather nerf it to the ground instead of injecting reasonable input.
-
Bait is bait.
-
People be mad when they get outplayed. Is what is is.
-
I used to defend the Devs a lot because let's be honest, people will complain and spew hatred regardless of what decision the Devs make. However after seeing the post and video about what they did about Legacy items and this post, I'm kinda disgusted with them now.

I feel like you could let it trigger on both first and second hook and it would still just be okish at best tbh
The problem is that you either have potato Survivors who are in your range all trying to unhook you which makes the perk finally useful (assuming anyone is even using it outside of the Adept achievement), or you have a skilled group who knows that it is better to just do gens than trying to make a risky save with a camping Killer.

Again missing the point. let's take killer camping. Ok I will use BT. BUT in this topic we are talking about the gap between solo and swf. You made some examples that are not related to solo/sfw gap. I'm not saying " Finding totems its hard, should be eazy" but I am saying that as SWF you can always ask your friend if they did some totems and do not waste time.
And as I stated in my example when I used myself, you can use Bond, Kindred, Empathy, Detectives Hunch, Small Game, etc. Really ANY perk that gives you information you don't have as bat kit, you can equip a perk to use. There is no gap because you have the PERKS at your disposal but you refuse to break from whatever META you're stuck in so you'd rather ask for more base buff than just using different perks.

some aren't going afk some are going out of they way (if your sparky/shiny) to sweat tunnel camp you out of the game make sure you don't survive with a crown.
Then this discussion is void because it's talking about Killers going AFK. Even though I've either seen Killers let Survivors farm and get crowns or play it like a normal match. No different than what the typical Survivor does.
@SHoo said:

Because one requires putting in effort while the other doesn't. That's where it gets unfair.
If the Killer goes AFK in your match (which I've yet to see any have. They usually either play a normal match or farm), what effort do you have to put in besides holding M1 for Gens, gate, and crown?

you are still missing the point. It is clear that I can use a rainbow map or a skill to locate totems, BUT sfw do not have to do so. So theres a gap. Period. Its like the buff to kindred. It was so much usefull since swf had this advantage. You could say " use bond or emphaty to compensate that" but if you have to compensate that means that theres a gap.
That's not what that means, at all.
Killer has momentum? Well that's a gap, better equip DS.
Killer slugs Survivors? Well that's a gap, better equip No-Mither/Unbreakable.
Killer Camps? Well that's a gap, better equip BT.
Killer has a Hex totem? Well that's a gap, better equip Small Game/DH/Map
Killer is good at chases? Better equip exhaustion perks.
This is literally what your perks are designed for is to compensate what you lack so it gives you advantages/even footing against Killers and your fellow teammates. On my Survivor, I run SC, Bond, Iron Will, and a random 4th perk depending on the upcoming match. This gives me all the info I need as a Solo Survivor to stay alive better than SWF's half the time. It's not about closing the gap, it's about having skill. If you're not using perks to compensate for lack of information, you're using perks to compensate for other things you lack. Why else would you equip perks?
Totems are fine where they are at and there shouldn't be a visible counter for them.
-
@makeyourchoice96 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1388881#Comment_1388881
you are wrong, Swf know if they did a totem. So they know if they have to run and look for example the 5th totem. As a solo surv, I only know if I did some tomes. But I cannot waste time running aroud looking for a totem that might not be even there since I cannot know. This is a gap betwenn SWF and solo. This topic is about this gap, not about the fact that you have to do totems. I am fine doing totems, but SWF have this huge advantage.
You have perks to compensate which you probably don't use, you got maps, and you have your skills. I do solo and I have no problem finding all 5 totems, broken or otherwise. It takes what, 30-40 seconds to do a search of the map and locate all 5 totems?
-
Who tf cares about rank for DBD in 2020? You know how easy it is to rank/pip up in these games? You have to sweat just to derank.
-
@R52G said:
Seems intriguing to me. How would the killer be involved in it? Would they have the same effect the survivors would on the hooked survivor using camaraderie?
Yes if not something similar. I don't personally experience being face camped that often since I'm Rank 1 on PC, but others are constantly complaining about being face/proxy camped. So probably within a radius of 16-24 meters would activate this perk.
-
I'd sooner take the Killer from Ax 'Em than agree to have SpringTrap in this game.
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
Okay, that's fine.
But the timer shouldn't change if you're slugged and the killer goes for someone else to prevent you from DS'ing him.
Same goes for people who say "DS should activate if the killer hooks another survivor."
I, as a killer main, have done this many times and it would be unfair for survivors to have their DS deactivated when they're slugged on the floor and I'm already on my way to hook them with no penalty.
But the likelihood of a Killer slugging every single person in the game and then waiting 60 seconds is unlikely because they don't know who has it equipped. It's much easier to narrow it when someone get's unhooked because you only have to worry about 1 person at that time. But in this scenario, you would have to worry about 3+ Survivors who may have it.

Yeah, but on her lore, she capture girls to keep then safe, she do this because of her mother that always protected she and was basically the only contact that she had
That... doesn't describe anything about her sexuality. Unless you're calling her a Pedo who likes young girls, that ain't it chief.
-
If you were getting stunned constantly with head-on, then you knew what their strategy was. Why didn't you fake it by walking towards a locker then backing up to scare them out? Head-on also gives you 60 second exhaustion, so unless it was a very specific building and you were running the same pattern over and over, there's no way they can keep doing it. And if that's what they did do, then you should've known better by the 2nd or 3rd time and strategized accordingly.
-
No one considers the perks you mentioned game breaking aside from the extreme nuts and those are few and far between.

well it wasnt progressing naturally being constantly abused by head on due to the building layout was ridiculous. head on was the issue and the survivors abusing this .... purely to annoy the killer. ie me
But you finally killed them, whether it was you finally beating them or they made a mistake it doesn't matter. You could still Kill them at any time. It's not like getting sandbagged into a corner and then being unable to move and do anything. THAT is halting natural progression.
-
If they introduce FNAF into this game, I'll probably just quit at that point. I was on the fence with Demo since he was a monster and not really a Killer, but he grew on me. Last thing I would want is some kiddy robotic AI gone murder happy in here.
-
If the game is unable to progress naturally, it is being held hostage. You were simply being out-chased.
-
I don't think many people even know what is Meta these days since it varies heavily between ranks, consoles, and personal opinion.

Btw stbfl is actually not that bad on myers
For Adept achievement.

@USELESS said:
I just tried adept Myers and noticed two things:
1- his perks are trash on him
2- He, and Leatherface, are literally the weakest killers in the game. Myers when using only his perks, because, it's worthless, and bubba because his power itself is weak on red ranks.
Pretty sure a lot of people are going to disagree with you about Myers. Myers has the best perks in the game compared to what they used to be. Bubba is decent if you go against at max, average players in red ranks.
-
Focus on creating pressure in game rather than maximizing power. Plague is a prime example. It took me so long to get adept because I was focusing on using her power and trying to increase my deviousness when that's not the case. Because when a Survivor cleanses, that knocks my emblem system drastically. Just focus on keeping them off gens for as long as possible, hooking them, and keeping them pressured. Use your power when needed but don't focus too much on trying to maximize all your BP categories.
-
If a Killer goes AFK during the match when they get the crown a Survivor in that same match can Survive when he gets his crown. God damn, how hard of a concept is that? Tired of seeing the same posts reiterate this ONLY dilemma that Survivors face when they complain about crowns being "unfair".
-
If the Killer can afk, then that means you can Survive. So what's the issue?
-
By fixing the bug so all players get the bonus BP? Not much to it.

Well with noed it says you had a crutch. It's the same as when you have a survivor escape and try to call you trash but all of their parks were crutch perks. I've made comebacks without noed. Which shows you can capitalize on their mistakes or rely on things that aren't one hit knockdown related.
A "Crutch" perk that you can disable early on in the game. If you've made comebacks without NOED, that insinuates you're not a bad player. So if you include NOED into your build, how does that suddenly make you a bad player? And from the sound of it, you just seem to hate one-hit knockdown things anyways. Does that mean Devour Hope, Rancor, Make Your Choice, Haunted Ground and Iron Maiden are bad/clutch perks too? Not even including the insta-down Killers either.
You also do realize that the average BHVR is looking for are 2k games? So if you've done your job right and got 2 people killed by the time all Gens popped, you've done your job as a Killer and you weren't bad. So what's the issue with having NOED for the final 2 assuming they haven't disabled it or don't escape?
