All this talking of reporting but nothing on what the hacks are. What is it that hackers are doing that there's dozens of them? I've probably have ran into a couple, but nothing that is annotated within the game play itself.

If you encounter a face camping killer, then there's no reason for at least one survivor escaping as everyone should be focused on rushing gens. But if a killer is legitimately happy with acquiring so little bloodpoints - the very currency this game lives and dies on - then there's little that can be done I'm afraid.
You're nearly correct yes, but:
- If a Killer somehow gets a 4k with Facecamping, which as been done, then it's a win. You either get a team of highly skilled Survivors, or you get a team of potatoes. There's no in-between when it comes to this matchmaking system.
- If the Killer already has everything he needs in terms of items and perks, what's the purpose of BP? Not everyone is striving for P3 50 Max perks on every single character.
-
Only dealt with it once and that was on the new map.
-
Idk. I know that I don't "Exploit" it unless the team is really good in which case, all bets are off. That doesn't mean I'm going to tunnel you out of the game. But if I catch you in an area after recently being unhooked when I'm patrolling, I'm going to slug and hook you. I'm not obligated to give you a 2nd chance just as you're not obligated to give me hooks.
-
@SweetTerror said:
Proximity camping is a viable strategy, but face camping is not, and you can see that in the amount of bloodpoints gained in a match. The less a killer does, the fewer bloodpoints they get as they will most likely get bronze emblems for staying so close to the hook.
A viable strategy doesn't correlate with the amount of BP gained. If somehow face camping got you a 4k, then you've technically won even if your BP gain was low. No different than Merciless Killer correlating with how much BP gained.

I got reported one time because I faked a Freddy teleport which scared the guy to run towards me where I cancelled and hit him.

Yes, it is true she's bottom tier, for ALL RANKS. When it comes to Red Ranks, she's not. She's close, but not bottom tier. She beats 2 Killers which is Demo and Clown. Hell when it comes to Kill Rate, she's on par with Huntress. Only difference is that Huntress is picked more than Nurse. And Huntress isn't a bad or bottom tier Killer either.
But you have to ask yourself, why is she bottom tier for ALL RANKS and not Red too? It's because brand new Killers try her out, suck at her for a few games and realize how hard she is to learn, and switch to a different Killer. She is still the Deadliest Killer to play, if you know how to play her and you run a good build. If noobs started playing Freddy and for some reason suck at him, would you rate him at the bottom tier too? Even though he has the highest Kill rate amongst all Killers?
You wouldn't, and the same goes for Nurse.
-
I most fun build to use when I want to command and conquer is:
Ruin/Surveillance/STBFL/(Perk of your choice)
Ruin and Surveillance on Freddy paired with Teleport is the most dominating map control you can ever get as a Killer. STBFL helps with getting downs quickly. For the fourth perk, I always switch it up, sometimes I'll run Brutal Strength to shorten chases, other times I'll run DH if I want to have fun. I'll even run Lightborn if they got flashlights or Franklin's if someone brought a key.
-
Since when is being Rank 1 an advantage of Power? I'd rather be Rank 15 again so I don't get a heart attack when going against toxic Survivors. What's worse is the people who ARE good enough to be Rank 1 but throw to low levels just so they can dominate the lower ranks.

What a very specific question

Resident Evil I'll give you that. FNAF would be more known than SH among those under 30. Those over 30 would recognize SH more. Amnesia is nowhere near FNAF, RE, or SH.
In terms of ranking big horror video game franchises I'd rank them as follows:
- RE
- SH
- Dead Space
- Bioshock
- FNAF
- Outlast
- FEAR
- Dead Rising
- Evil Within
- Amnesia
If you were to ask for a comparison between which one is more horror filled, Dead Space or Silent Hill, I'd bet a poll would elect Dead Space. Though not AS iconic since Dead Space was originally just a PC game, nothing beats horror than being stuck on an empty dark vessel in the middle of space with zombified aliens.
-
Ghostface would be top tier along with Myers and Freddy. When you ask people to name slasher films, these will be aptly name alongside Friday the 13th.
A tier would be Pig and Silent Hill. Everyone knows about the SAW franchise and everyone has heard about Silent Hill whether it's through movie or games. Pyramid Head is Iconic. The Pig in game however is not AS iconic since people remember the Mark Hoffman or John Kramer more than most remember Amanda but still stands out since SAW is such a huge series.
B tier would be Demo since a lot of people watch Netflix these days.
C tier would be Bubba because not many people have seen the original movie and there's been so many different adaptations and variations of Bubba that not many people actually know who he is or what his family does. He's just not as popular as he used to be.
-
Yes
-
Killer. Survivor has it's moments of being fun, but until cross-play comes out, I won't play Survivor much unless there's a ritual/tome or I get bored.
-
I've played her as Rank 1 quite a bunch, I'm no expert, and the minimum I get is 2k using only her 3 perks. She's not bad, she negates healing entirely which is something you can base your builds off of. IF Survivors cleanse at those ranks, you get Corrupt which is just awesome sauce. If not, then you only have to 1-hit survivors and you always know where they are at, with or without Iron Will. Very hard too get merciless on when wanting to use her power. And BP gain on her, especially Deviousness, is hard if you care about max points.

"So essentially you dislike players who use "brain dead" Killers because you usually lose to them?"
Really? That's what you took away from the original post? You think that that was the crux of the original poster's 4 paragraphs? I'm not even sure that I agree with the original post, but goddamn if this is representative of the world's average reading comprehension then we're all doomed.
That's how giving a summary of an article/book/post works bud. It doesn't take advanced reading comprehension to dissect the post. In 4 paragraphs, OP essentially tells us he dislikes people using "brain dead" Killers and would rather have BHVR as well as the community create and stick to using characters that demand high skill, better pay off. Even though knowing that not everyone can enjoy those types of characters or are that particularly skilled. Since he and others find "Brain dead" Killers boring, he'd rather have people play something that HE finds fun. Which gave me a lead to the conclusion he wants this because what he finds "fun" in Killers is being able to win against them more. Obviously everyone wants strategic Killers for better game play. However, he barely harped on that until the very end which was his final statement.
-
So essentially you dislike players who use "brain dead" Killers because you usually lose to them? I almost always get hate in the endgame chat when I decide to run Spirit or Freddy for rituals. But if I run something like Demo (who I usually main), I get tea bagged and "bullied" in the match because they think he's a easy Killer to go against until they get downed within the first 10-15 seconds.
-
It took me awhile to get The Plague's Adept but it was because I was doing it wrong. I was too focused on using her power and trying to get high points in all categories. Apparently the way to go is to apply constant pressure and just keep them hurting. Her power actually harms one of the emblems you need for a Merciless. Ignore the powers unless you're using a specific Killer that will aid your chase or downs. Just focus on constant pressure.

I definitely agree that Moris need to take this into account for sure, for the moment I guess that I feel the experience of being tunnel mori’d is worse than the experience of being genrushed.
@APoipleTurtle said:

It's a fair argument, but I strongly believe that mori's shouldn't be the answer to a base-game balancing issue.
More than anything, I agree with OP's sentiment that a mori should be earned as a reward, not as a means of significantly speeding up killer's objective (by basically kicking a player from the match). Would rather see more perks and add-ons that can activate these animations so we can move away from the offerings altogether.
But there is no balancing issue. A Killer who's intent to camp/tunnel will do it regardless of what they're using no different than a team of Survivors intent to gen rush. It's going to happen if they really want to do it, but the people who do this is a small minority compared to everyone else. Right now, things are fairly balanced compared to what they used to be from what I have seen. And I play Rank 1 for both sides on PC often.
Plus, they already have introduced those perks and add-ons. Devour Hope is a prime example where you have to get 5 hooks, a perk that promotes anti-tunneling and camping. But no one ever uses it because once you get to the stage of insta-downs (assuming they haven't already found it since totems are in easy to see locations), Survivors will immediately hunt it down to the ends of the earth. You also got Rancor which is an end-game Mori for 1 Survivor which is a wasted Slot if you for the rest of the game and Myer's add-ons which is also an instant kill WITHOUT the hook. Pyramid Head is another new example where you have to play long enough to get to the stage of a mini mori.
-
Counterargument is how fast paced the game is. If you go against a team of good Survivors, SWF's or Solo, by the time you chase and hook one person, 1-2 Gens will have popped. That doesn't mean the Killer is bad, that's just bound to happen with an effective team that can do gens and hold a decent chase. By the time you come around to doing another chase, at least 1 more gen will pop. You still have 4 survivors to deal with and there's only 2 gens left to be completed. A Mori in this scenario makes sense because you now have 3 Survivors left with 2 Gens which is still highly possible to win.
-
Perks from both sides are affected. If you're unable to use BT and DS, PH is unable to use Pop, BBQ, etc.

jesus the innacuracy in this is so F’ing aggrovating and the reason why nothing gets changed. you are absolutely WRONG. the amount of time a PH has gotten back in time to tunnel someone out of a box in a deadzone with no resources is over half. even if they hook u, they camp till struggle and instantly mini mori u as if they had a real mori equipt. the power is another new player delicacy because of how easy it is to feather the power on and off with no down side its literally death slinger 2.0 with the easily mind gamable through a wall shot. the character is flawed beyond belief and is EVERYTHING against what the community has faught for in terms of balance. i highly doubt you play survivor and if so show hours
Maybe you should pull your statistics from a reliable source because I don't know where you're getting your numbers from. I'm not saying that there AREN'T Killers that tunnel. Because they're definitely are, and they will tunnel you no matter what Killer they play. But you can't sit here and tell me that Pyramid Head's cage which literally spawns as far as possible from the Killer is something that can be easily tunneled. There is a lot of seconds being wasted to get over there where another Survivor can either start a chase with him, or save the caged Survivor. You're also bringing up another scenario that I never argued for or against anyways which was camping someone on HOOK until they struggle and then doing a mori on them. That wasn't in my comment so idk why you included it.
You've also reiterated what I just said about his power. I clearly said and I quote, 'His feign attack is a strategy no different than Demo's shred which is used in the same manner except the Shred is unavoidable if you don't pay attention'. Have you ever seen a Demo player or understand what that means? It means they'll do what you call the "DeathSlinger 2.0" which is open up for a Shred attack, make the player juke themselves, then revert to a basic attack on the spot and injure the Survivor. And again when compared to Death Slinger and Demo, really any ranged character, he has the SLOWEST ranged attack that you can avoid if you pay attention to the red stain on the ground. On top of that, you can't "flick" the attack like you would with other ranged characters. Pyramid Head is a clunky and slow Killer when it comes to his power because he can't really turn or navigate when he's prepping for a Punishment of the Damned.
-
Is it scummy? Yes. This Streamer is obviously abusing the system to make newer players lives hell. This is typically where those discussions come in on how they hate going against SWF's. However the counter to this, especially for Survivor side, is that when Ruin was changed, a lot of players who weren't good and red ranked to begin with, skyrocketed up to the top. Now you're playing with possibly other bad players and Killers who actually know what they're doing for the most part. It's just a crummy MatchMaking system.
I'm not defending the Streamer, obviously he/she is abusing the system to get easy kills and look like they're pro. But for some players in different situations, it kinda makes sense.
-
How is clown bottom tier? Have any of y'all even played against or have played Clown since his new buff? Go do that before you rank him at the bottom.

Pig wont be able to crouch then dash at a survivor in a straight line chase and pyrimind head has to be at least at half of the range of the damned shot to hit them with it but at that point you may as well has just M1 them. The main thing is the rest is down to probability, isn't it? If trapper has put a bear trap there, If hag has put a trap there, If.. If you are lucky enough to spawn in that certain area and put a trap down then it's all good or if you go past that area and decided to trap it while the survivor goes past it. Against top survivors you wont have time to head there and trap it, you need to start pressure immediately.
There is so much probability involved here I'd rather not get into it but the main thing is here you are eating a forced pallet and there is almost no direct mind game and they get free time into a long corridor. Forced pallets aren't anything new they exist on Lery's map and some others but the difference is on lery's is there are rooms beside you and you can run diagonally towards the survivor and cut them off. Here it is a full straight line corridor unless they decide to run into a room with a loop if you get too close.
You don't use Pig's dash when chasing them in a straight line. You use it to mindgame at pallets. Pyramid Head has add-ons that extend his range, but if you treat his power as you would Demo's, yeah you would want to M1 instead because Survivors would be expecting you to use it in an open setting. Pyramid Head's power fully comes out when they are in the midst of an animation. In terms of probability, not really. I've seen high ranking Trappers setup and lose about 1-2 Gens before they finally start going in and they go ham on us. Haven't seen a Trapper yet on the new map but every other map I usually get destroyed, especially Redwoods. Can't speak for Hag because I don't see her at all in PC high ranks but, it's the same if not better because the layout is smaller so she should be able to teleport everywhere.
In terms of these Corridors, the only one who legit suffers is again, Bubba. Everyone else has a means of catching up. Myers may not be able to catch up, but he can feed his tier levels which will force Survivors to run into adjacent rooms or get him to Tier 3 and then it's game over. Again, I don't really see the issue aside from the possibility of a lack of safe pallets. The map is fine, it creates a deadzone that forces Survivors to be sparing and Killers to utilize their powers more to catch their foe.

“The map in terms of layout and design is amazing, anyone who hasn't played PTB isn't used to it and are usually the ones complaining about how much it sucks.”
I did play PTB, I played it on both sides, I said it sucked before and I will say it sucks now. It’s haddonfield on crack.
“Cheryl is a great character, all of her perks, especially Repressed Alliance, are pretty good with the exception of Soul Guard which is entirely situational.”
a perk that is bond 0.2 with a useless haste increase, and a perk that blocks gens that is only useful in the most specific of situations. Soul Guard is the best of them and even that is pretty weak.
“But no, let's bash the Killer and map because we don't know how to play the new content yet. Remember the same thing happening when Chains of Hate came out? Look how long all that died down when people learned what to do.”
there is nothing to “learn” with this map, it’s a 2-storied square building with 2 staircases in the corners of the map. You either spend an eternity holding W to run to survivors/away from killer or spend 10 seconds being chased to an unsafe loop, not to mention the bugs and seeming lack of polish, price of a skin being more than the bundle itself among various other issues and the criticism is deserved
1st Point - It's why I said usually. But there's not really an issue with the map aside from bugs and pallet placements. The design "sucks" because people get confused or don't like running down long corridors for some reason.
2nd Point- Haste increase is used when you see a Killer coming towards both of you. Yes it's situational, but it's definitely more useful than Soul Guard in my opinion. And Repressed Alliance completely negates PGTW, Ruin, Surge, etc., it's not even a specific situation since PGTW is primarily used in like 90% of matches these days. It also notifies other Survivors that the Gen you were working on is very close to finishing so you can strat around it.
3rd Point I've already mentioned about the map in 1st point but I'll add that there is 3 staircases on the map (4 if Killer breaks the walls). I've also already mentioned in the post about is the mass collection of bugs we received this Chapter along with the price of the Skin. I never said that can't be criticized because it totally can. It is something that undermines the game. But that's not what is mainly being discussed in these forums. Certain people are reporting it under Bug Reporting, myself included. But no one is talking about how bad these bugs are, but rather how much the Killer needs to be nerfed and how much the map sucks. Which it doesn't, people just haven't learned both yet which is ALWAYS the case in every new chapter.
-
Breakable doors switch on this map. It's not always the same
-
- Cage spawns across the map opposite of Killer which promotes anti camping and tunneling. If your team hasn't saved you or faced the Killer because he reaches you, that's on them.
- Punishment of the Damned is a slow, small ranged attack. A red trail indicates its trajectory before traveling towards you which is easily avoidable if you side step. Even then, his feign attack is a strategy no different than Demo's shred which is used in the same manner except the shred is unavoidable if you don't pay attention. You also can't flick his attack like you would with DeathSlinger or Demo because Pyramid Head's movement using his power is clunky and slow. Unless you're in the middle of an animation or he got a good guess, you're not going to get hit.
- Map is fine, no one knows who it aids right now because people complain it is Killer side and others complain it is Survivor sided. Give it a couple weeks when people figure out the Map and it'll be water under the bridges.

Yes Huntress, Deathslinger, Billy, Nurse and maybe Plague if she has corrupt purge might be able to deal with it a bit easier but what about everyone else? Also I assumed you was at red ranks because that's just down to pure playtime, I'm getting 4ks all the time but till I actually go against a solid survivor then they show you how to play the map, thus the conclusion I came to about the advantage of forced pallets on that map.
That happens to the best of us when we go against any solid Survivor(s). I'm not saying you're wrong in your assessment. But the map isn't that bad and essentially all Killers can thrive on this map except Bubba. Because ######### Bubba. He's just not great for chases on any map. But the now buffed Clown is perfect for those endless Corridors, Nurse is perfect too, Pig can ambush dash, Trapper can block doorways with his traps and leave the other side still blocked with the breakable wall, Hag has teleport. That map is a Killer's dream once learned properly. But if you go against a good team, you'll lose no matter what map you're on.

I'm not taking a perk because there is a 1/31 chance I might play on the Silent Hill map just to deal with a maps pallet setup that involve many forced pallets into long corridors. lol.
Yes some killers can shave an extra second of the pallet break but still results in the same thing and not enough to make a difference. The real difference between a forced pallet break and let's say killers shack is there is a continuous mind game of which way he's going to go. With a forced pallet break there is zero mind game there and you buy yourself risk free time.
Or you could just take a perk for a different play style? I run Brutal on Freddy and Pig along with some other Non-meta perks and get the usual 4k in PC Red Ranks. And the difference in those extra seconds do matter because I've played Demo in Silent Hill and not much time is bought. Especially since those long corridors hardly have any adjacent paths to escape from. It seems to be more Killer sided than Survivor depending on what side of the map you're on.

I like the map and most of the perks.
That's why I'm so bad with PH right now. I keep expecting the ability to do a flick like I would with Huntress or Demo right at the cusp of executing the attack. Need to work on it because his ability feels clunky.

In terms of versatility in play style, Myers is the way to go. However, Ghostface is easier to pick up and much more of the stealthy type.

No. There doesn't need to be a change to the offering. Read what I wrote.
MORI SHOULD NOT WORK WITH CAGES.
No other hook effects work on cages, why is mori the exception?
So what's the problem? You either get caged or you get hooked and then immediately die. The outcome isn't going to change if someone brings a Mori in unless you succeed at hiding or escaping chases.
-
@Williamz said:
Right now this is a pretty high tier survivor sided map. There are many pallets that are forced pallet breaks that then run into a long corridor in where survivors can just hold W which wastes a lot of time. If you're going to make corridor maps don't put pallets on it that force a pallet break that result into a continuous run without any counter play other than to keep running in a straight line.
Perhaps if you are near enough for a damned wave shot with Pyramid Head, and that's only if you are him or huntress really no other killer can really do anything about forced pallet breaks.
Also the double door break for the secret stairs in the corner of the map is too much just to go up. Please remove these breakable doors there completely.
Why break both of them at all? Break one so when you're in a chase, Survivors run in there and get trapped. Also anyone running Brutal Strength or Fire up perks can easily break those pallets. Also, Demo's Shred, Billy/Bubba's chainsaw, Plague's corrupt purge, DeathSlinger would make short work of the map.
-
His portals are reliable if placed correctly for knowing where Survivors are at and quick movement around the map. His lunge is best used for bait when a Survivor is looking at you as they run (the same as it is for Pyramid Head if you apply the same tactic). But it is so easy to use his Shred ability if you know how long to hold it and when to launch. The only thing wrong are his add-ons but he's honestly in a good spot for base kit. He's definitely not B, if there was a low A tier, I'd put him there. But he's no B.
-
@Rivyn said:
B. Above Demo, below Doc. Which is funny, seeing as he appears to be a hybrid of both.
Since when is Demo not an A tier? And I would argue that PH is below Demo in terms of reliability and usability of their powers.
-
They need to fix the way he moves using his power, it feels clunky and as if it wasn't finished yet. They also need to release some sort of guide on what his power does and does not affect. A lot of people don't know what his power actually negates in terms of perks and people don't know what the cage allows and disallows.
-
Also something to note, hitting someone on hook doesn't register as an actual hit. It's just hitting an object.
-
Purposefully waiting at gates when they're open so the Killer can see you leave (when no one is hooked or in danger).
-

While I kinda agree, I do think people are allowed to voice their opinions and concerns.
I do really like the killer, and maybe he does need one or two small buffs, but I definitely agree with the argument that his tunneling potential is too good. Of course people will tunnel with any killer, but giving the people that tunnel a killer that is much better at tunneling than any other killer is a bad idea. Because now they'll have even more succes with a strategy that is just insanely unfun to go against and often doesn't require much skill at all.
I'm also definitely enjyoing the new map a lot but I do understand why some people would dislike the map, and I'm not talking about the people that dislike the map just because they played it twice and didn't do well on the map because they don't know the layout yet.
I'm not saying those people aren't allowed to voice their opinions and concerns. But just straight bashing the Devs and outright insulting the work and effort they put into something instead of giving constructive criticisms with possible resolutions isn't the way to go about it. Especially when it's the same "Nerf Killer; Too OP" when it's only been a day is just ridiculous. This happens every time a new chapter comes out because no one knows how to adjust to the new Killer/Map yet. Once the people who come back seasonally leave and others adapt, it'll just be a drop in the bucket like DeathSlinger.
Hardly anyone has talked about the positives, especially for Clown's buff.

I've played 20 or 30 matches against him and I can say with ease that using him with a specific set of perks is extremely OP.

You do realize that his power also counters camping and tunneling? It also negates both Killer and Survivor perks as well. And until you find someone playing PH using those "specific set of perks", he's not OP.
-
You know, I see that you're saying this, but I doubt you played Pyramid Head yourself yet. Go ahead and play him with the Red Ranks. Tell me how easy he is to get a 4k with ;D Especially with level 1 and 2 perks against Survivors fully kitted which is the stage EVERYONE is at right now.

I don't disagree with you, I love running plunderer builds or healing builds, but the meta is the meta and there will always be people that are still running perks like DS, BT, DH, Unbreakable, etc. Unless more perks become viable I don't think that PH is really going to shake it up all that much.
The Meta is the Meta based on what you consider to be Meta. What I consider to be Meta as a solo Survivor is Bond, Spine Chill, Iron Will, and whatever I make the 4th perk which is usually Prove Thyself or something. A LOT of perks are viable but aren't used. DH, Prove Thyself, Tenacity, Repressed Alliance (a sleeper hit by the way since it negates PGTW), Head On, etc. The only reason DS and BT is widely used is because Survivors run into camping/tunneling Killers. But what happens if they aren't ran into that match, how useful were those 2 perks? How useful was unbreakable if the Killer never slugs? You're going off chance no different than you would against PH. Which results in usual death for those teams unless all 4 are excellent Survivors.

Well maybe some builds are good and unique, but perks like DS, BT, Adrenaline, BBQ etc. are still the strongest in the game. Besides there are other stronger killers than PH like Nurse or Spirit. It will not force people to change the meta just because PH showed up...
Many perks aside from those are strong and you can still get by without it. Bond, Spine Chill, DH, Prove Thyself, Repressed Alliance, etc. You could easily replace those Meta perks with other perks that are also considered Meta if not just as good and not widely used. If you run into a Killer that doesn't tunnel or camp in a match, how effective was your BT or DS? PH doesn't affect, in fact no Killer does Adrenaline at all, and if he uses Cage the entire game, he will never use BBQ.
-
Brown to green are his most powerful followed by Scarlet Egg. His add-ons are much better than Demos, no idea what you mean. I can't recall his other pink add-on though.

Thats the problem though. Sure, everybody is pretty much facing PH every game right now, so they adjust their build to play against him accordingly. In a month or so though, he will be played just as often as the other average killers, so are survivors really going to keep their PH build or go back to the existing meta? If they want to shake the meta up they have to start giving more perks the Kindred treatment and make more perks viable on both sides.
Or realize that you don't need Meta perks to win a match, regardless of what Killer it is. I'm gone in with a Treasure Hunting setup and have Survived with 1-3 others coming with me depending on how smart we were during the match as solos. I've also gone in with a build that purely focuses on boldness and chases and Survived. It doesn't take PH to get you out of using Meta perks, but it definitely forces you to think if using Meta perks all the time is viable.

Using other perks, because 1 from 20 killers has an ability to avoid the effect of meta perks? Well..
Are some Survivors that bad that they are unable to win a game without the same 4 perks they've been using since their release? You can still easily win a game with good and unique builds, regardless of the Killer. PH just happens to force you make one, or Survive with essentially 0-1 perk working.
