I think the only console that is confirmed to be getting crossprogression is Switch and Switch doesn't even have it yet, so people really shouldn't be asking for their platform yet until the promised platforms get it. Since, until then, the answer is probably 100% no you aren't getting it.

Also, maybe I'm different but I really only want crossprogression for my switch so I can have everything on pc for ptbs. I have no interest on crossing over to full time pc player.

You certainly are in the minority.

What are you two going on about? I get a solid 120 frames with drops only here and there. They should optimize the game more, but its not that bad.

Oh and consoles are just that bad, you would be hard-pressed to play any console that would not have some sorta performance issue on any game.

I have stadia and pc cross progression enabled, and I still had to buy the game on stadia to do that. So in theory enabling cross progression would increase their base game sales with all the people jumping to a new platform. they would possibly lose revenue on DLC, cosmetics, and rifts though. But I can't imagine anyone buying these things separately on each platform anyway

This only would be true if:

    • What you are saying makes logical sense
    • Every other platform had cross progression, as every major platform doesn't have it
    • You took into consideration people changing platforms, I for example use to only play console but after I found out how much better PC is I only play PC now

This is why people mainly want this (I bet), because they have the game already on other platforms and want to swap to a new one.

First of all I'm not a Sir I'm a female. And secondly don't quite like you're tone here if I'm honest. Maybe my opinion and attitude is different but you sound a bit of a jerk if I'm straight with you sir.

I would not recommend calling people names on these forums, while I agree with your tone in response to this person, you might get banned because the mods are ban hungry here. So calling someone "J***" might be enough to get you jailed, because that's how great the rules are here.

So what your saying is he secured the 3k which he had obviously earned (they were stupid enough to go into the basement together) and the fact that the survivors aren't punished for ######### up that badly (both of them deserve to be downed for that) is imo ridiculous. However, why should survivors be able to undo their mistake like that with minimal consequences (only one downed).

So what your saying is he secured the 3k which he had obviously earned (they were stupid enough to go into the basement together) and the fact that the survivors aren't punished for [BAD WORD] up that badly (both of them deserve to be downed for that) is imo ridiculous.

No I am saying you don't know how to read my reply and aren't even arguing against what I am saying but stating something random.

    Akin to a conversation like:

    "Hey pat"

"Hey, whats up. Do you like popcorn, went to the movies yesterday and it was a great treat?"

"I know right! That is what happened yesterday, and then I learned he could recover from surgery!"

This is how broken your replies are because you aren't taking the time to read what I am saying, so you just assume I am saying something.

However, why should survivors be able to undo their mistake like that with minimal consequences (only one downed).

They shouldn't, they should be punished harshly for bad plays, however this game is survivor sided and because of that if they played that situation correctly then only one person would've gone down.

None of what you're saying is ever going to really happen in a solo queue game or even majority of red rank games. Survivors have to be efficient as possible to actually try and win since most Good Killers these days can actually pressure a map that well that no more than 2 gens can get done. Not to mention the amount of Dead Zones and about 3 hooks per tile. This game is not Survivor sided and even the bloodpoint amount suggests that. Some Killers I escape against and if they get no kills also end up with more points than the whole survivor team. DS is rarely used now as well because that got a stupid nerf so Killers barely slug anymore anyways. But as you say "recklessly slugging loses games" which i've never heard anyone says, the Killers that slug (which btw is probably one of the most powerful methods a killer has to gain pressure) are the ones that generally win games easy as well.

Yeah let's have over altruistic survivors triple healing while one person is on hook or running from killer = 0 gen progress with the possibility of ruin being up as well so there's more pressure for the Killer.

Seems you really don't understand how pressure works in this game in the top ranks because all you're dishing out at me is theoretical situations and scenarios. Just admit MoM is a terrible designed perk because everyone else pretty much agrees. It's not about having to go out your way for Protection hits it's also gifting the Killer more health states which also gifts them more pressure...and like I said Protection Hits only have a chance to work if you're standing by another survivor, they only really work when someone if being carried to one of the 3 hooks per tile that we seem to get in every map now, which btw also renders even MORE survivor perks useless.

You also seemed to miss my point when i say i've got to run the same 4/7 perks. Trying to run other builds that don't include Borrowed TIme & Iron Will seem utterly pointless because there's too many perks in the game that require about 2/3 other perks to actually get any use out of. What's the point in running a perk like Flip-Flop or Buckle Up when there's busted Hook RNG in the game. Yeah let's also try Tenacity, Unbreakable, Soul Guard or something...another useless perk build that would probably work once in about 10 games, or let's run prove thyself and then get the Killer camping and tunneling because we "gen rush"...you see my point here? It seems to make no sense to waste your time running anything else because too many niche perks in the game require a stupid playstyle or have a 1 in 10 game chance to actually be effective.

None of what you're saying is ever going to really happen in a solo queue game or even majority of red rank games.

Well I am unsure at what skill level you personally play vs, but I play vs survivors who do this all the time. Its not uncommon for these strats to be used vs me when I am a killer and when I play survivior hence why I know they are thing you can do. In any sense, then this is your chance to understand what I have said and employ these "rare" strats, and then killers will fall for them consistantly (even though you are just using red herring fallacy.)

No they don't, they have to be efficient as possible if they want a game that literally lasts less then 3 minutes. If at optimal play, even a nurse has issues (nurse would still win likely however or at least draw unless the survivors did everything humanly perfectly).

Some Killers I escape against and if they get no kills also end up with more points than the whole survivor team. DS is rarely used now as well because that got a stupid nerf so Killers barely slug anymore anyways.

See it was after you said this I am starting to think you are a new player. Not seeing common strats vs and as killer, and now not understanding how the emblem system works?

Anyway, conveniently I have already argued this and refuted this point in another thread. You can find it here:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2143285#Comment_2143285

But as you say "recklessly slugging loses games" which i've never heard anyone says, the Killers that slug (which btw is probably one of the most powerful methods a killer has to gain pressure) are the ones that generally win games easy as well.

Likely because you don't understand the optimization for killers at all.

The killers that ensure hook states are the ones that win, killers can slug all day but they won't get anywhere if the survivors just ensure they're teammates are being picked up and in fact this would constitute to the killers lost and they basically would be allowing survivors to regress chase worths of time for no reasons.

You haven't even attempted to refute my above argument, so you can refer it to why this is.

Yeah let's have over altruistic survivors triple healing while one person is on hook or running from killer = 0 gen progress with the possibility of ruin being up as well so there's more pressure for the Killer.

This is a fallacy, strawman, no. Refer to my point AND quote me with your response otherwise I am just going to ignore this point as I already argued it and you are outright lying.

Seems you really don't understand how pressure works in this game in the top ranks because all you're dishing out at me is theoretical situations and scenarios.

Ironic considering you think slugging is absolutely amazing and also I am in the top ranks but the funny thing is the argument from authority fallacy you are using doesn't even make sense as rank doesn't mean anything but play time in modern day DBD. Its not even known what the mechanisms for match making are currently.

Just admit MoM is a terrible designed perk because everyone else pretty much agrees.

Yup, totally agree with that. Although don't know why this is relevant as it has nothing to do with neither of our arguments. I never argued it was a good design.

It's not about having to go out your way for Protection hits it's also gifting the Killer more health states which also gifts them more pressure...

Already gave the reasons why this is not the case, and why survivor is coming out better in this situation if you actually decided to read what I said.

and like I said Protection Hits only have a chance to work if you're standing by another survivor, they only really work when someone if being carried to one of the 3 hooks per tile that we seem to get in every map now, which btw also renders even MORE survivor perks useless.

    This is just bs.

You also seemed to miss my point when i say i've got to run the same 4/7 perks. Trying to run other builds that don't include Borrowed TIme & Iron Will seem utterly pointless because there's too many perks in the game that require about 2/3 other perks to actually get any use out of.

You seem to miss that point THE BASE SURVIVIOR KIT IS GOOD ENOUGH WITHOUT PERKS, hopefully you actually read that now that it is boldened.

This is a issue with killers or survivors, they're are a great deal of not viable perks but this is for both sides.

What's the point in running a perk like Flip-Flop or Buckle Up when there's busted Hook RNG in the game. Yeah let's also try Tenacity, Unbreakable, Soul Guard or something...another useless perk build that would probably work once in about 10 games,

I have no clue what RNG has to do with anything nor is it busted for hook escapes. If survivors could consistently escape hook this game would have no killers. That would be a better version of Deliverance at base.

or let's run prove thyself and then get the Killer camping and tunneling because we "gen rush"...you see my point here?

Yes, because that is the optimal play when every gen is done in 3 minutes. Its either camp a survivor and force a kill/drawed game or outright lose.

It seems to make no sense to waste your time running anything else because too many niche perks in the game require a stupid playstyle or have a 1 in 10 game chance to actually be effective.

They are powerful in specific situations. That's they're entire purpose. That's why DS is one of the most used, as well as unbreakable ect.

And DS IS one of the most used perks because it is useful even though you don't think so because you are new to the game or just not good at it.

You have no clue what i was talking about, i know how the emblems work fine. What i meant was that with the same bloodpoint cap, killer usually vets more out of it than survs, then the multiplier is added. So with were gonna live forever with 4 stacks and decent overall scores you will get 50k or more. With killer however its much easier to get the categories filled since tou arent one out of 4 people all trying to do the same thing. As killer you have nobody doing objectives that you could do yourself. But both sides can get 32k just the same, its just easier with killer

Yes I do, and you affirmed it on accident by swapping to my stance.

What i meant was that with the same bloodpoint cap, killer usually vets more out of it than survs, then the multiplier is added. So with were gonna live forever with 4 stacks and decent overall scores you will get 50k or more.

I highly doubt that, for starts you are saying you will get 50k but that is a assertion that is entirely subjective of the survivor(s) in question. Furthermore, I replied to every one of the points you made just to be specific and it was never implicated nor said directly that survivors get less due to performance. In fact you keep saying they just get less in general by your wording.

Remember, you literally said "Killer gets more by default and on a good game you get 60k or more." So no, I will not allow you to backtrack. You are simply lying after realizing you are wrong.

You didn't once bring up the fact that it requires to also take 3 health states to even get a use out of it, which then requires a lot of time to heal back up if you're not using a Purple Medkit which btw making a perk that's only really good with a purple medkit or communicating with players is bad to be in the game to begin with. The fact you're also saying "you could never slug in any situation" is entirely situational because you're making it out that EVERY survivor would run the perk. I'm tired of running the same 4/7 Perks in the game to really get any use out of it and most Killers lately don't slug because they don't really have a fear of DS or if they do slug then it's just a build /playstyle they set out to do, why not give survivors a counterplay to that build other than Unbreakable and actually swap up some different playstyles.

I've used MoM for about 20 games straight and had it activate once with actively taking protection hits about 60% of them weren't rewarded to me because of the score system not recognizing i took the hit for a survivor next to me who was being chased. In doing so I also had to pull myself away from the objective and putting myself in the injured state.

Also can't believe you don't find Spirit Oppressive, you must play against some pretty bad Spirits. I'm constantly against, Ruin, Undying, BBQ and Stridor Spirits who actually know what they're doing.

Suppose you're happy with the meta the way it is and will continue to just keep the game boring and stale.

You didn't once bring up the fact that it requires to also take 3 health states to even get a use out of it, which then requires a lot of time to heal back up if you're not using a Purple Medkit which btw making a perk that's only really good with a purple medkit or communicating with players is bad to be in the game to begin with.

That's because typically you get alot more value out of protection hits alone, in turn making up the 3 hit condition for the perk.

For example, if you take a protection hit that happens to save a survivor from hook, you basically in the process gain back two of those hits as now the killer has to hit whomever again wasting one of they're hits. They also need to redo chase which assume the survivors are competent can take a while, meaning now you are making the killer further negative in time, AND you fulfil a condition for the perk in turn later able to be used at key moments whenever you feel like it to tank through whatever the killer is doing for some major disruption.

Again, it rewards you for doing actions that you should not be rewarded for (taking any form of damage), and even if the person got hooked (which is bad play on your part as what was the point of the protection hit in this case?) you still fulfil a condition.

Healing is quite fast as it takes 16 seconds at base with the default survivor heal rate, and two survivors double it to make it 8 seconds. Which in turn, very much so simply for playing with a group of people (which is common, at least on pc due to groups such as the Official DBD Discord) would make healing back not such a issue. Then again, you are assuming you even want to heal due to the fact then typically gens are priority and therefore you can heal whenever you want as its not really a threat to be low health unless you are poor at chases.

The fact you're also saying "you could never slug in any situation" is entirely situational because you're making it out that EVERY survivor would run the perk.

Its clearly implicated that if this perk was around with those ideas proposed that is true IF anyone has the perk in the game, and even if it wasn't that is how killers would feel. Always worrying it is and it could be and that would pressure killers just by being a change in the game.

Then stop using the same meta perks, survivors don't even need them to win because of they're base kit being the best in the game and they all have the same great base kit. If your issue is "I have to use these same perks" then that's just not correct. You are choosing to use the same x/7 perks for reasons unknown to me.

This second part is silly, the reason a killer slugs is both subjective and entirely situational. For example, I think it is a good idea to slug if someone unhooks next to me after I just hooked someone as they likely do have DS and I don't want to eat it if I have no reason too. The amount of time it takes away for you to get stunned by DS can be game changing entirely based on the situation so I find this assertion it doesn't matter comical.

There is builds for slugging but unless you are nurse, or a absolutely cracked A tier killer they aren't very affective at all because slugging doesn't do anything but waste the survivors time and its completely reliant on the survivors to take advantage of the missed hooked opportunity's when it happens, and also punish the killer by ceasing to heal and instantly do gens after picking up a survivor. Its like you don't even understand you have to optimize slugging for when it specifically wastes survivors time, adds pressure or has a unique condition its fulfilling.

IE: Slugging for a end game 4k so the last survivor doesn't find hatch.

Recklessly slugging is a surefire way to outright lose.

That's your fault for using a perk with a specific niche incorrectly. Its to reward smart play during situations in which you save/help survivors in need.

Its not to recklessly try to fulfill its requirements just for the potential of being a 3 hit down survivor.

Also can't believe you don't find Spirit Oppressive, you must play against some pretty bad Spirits. I'm constantly against, Ruin, Undying, BBQ and Stridor Spirits who actually know what they're doing.

No, Its just as said before its a mindgame. If you know what you are doing you can literally make every situation she uses her power a 50/50 chance for her to guess where you are and that is a issue because that makes her power involve luck and as we see time and time again luck will make or break your power.

Suppose you're happy with the meta the way it is and will continue to just keep the game boring and stale.

Nope, if I was happy with it I wouldn't be highlighting the issues with both survivor and killer. There does need to be balance changes, but right now the game is objectively survivor sided and adding more clutch perks for survivors is just a bad idea.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

    Seriously don't do this.

hasn't even been two weeks since trickster and they about to announce a new killer.

stop adding new killers that will take you forever to balance and just focus on your current roster of killers that are weak and need balancing right now like trickster

Completely agree, yes I want RE and other killers in the game but I would rather play X amount of quality killers that feel very nice to play and are completely balanced than play XX amount of killers that all mostly are not very viable to play.

I really wanna see what they will do with RE though, I am hoping he is viable, if he is it likely will be my main for the rest of DBD if they are as I don't care what character it is, I love RE.

  • @Mandy said:

This is a tough one to vote on because they have so many different benefits. Agitation would probably be the strongest for me cos I can get to hook locations quickly and speed is probably the thing I want most when I'm playing killer, which is why I rarely use the basement.

The mods actually play the game...you actually play the game?? (0_0)?!?

  • @ItzPixelYT said:

People in this thread don't realize how much time survivors waste to go out of their way to take 2 protection hits, never mind 3...then heal up as well so playing in the sweat fest that is Rank 1 against Killers like Spirit, Nurse etc...who can gain a lot of map pressure, it doesn't make sense for me to go and try to take protection hits while someone is being carried etc..just to get a stack on a perk that can stop me from going down once in a game. I'd have to waste quite a bit of time doing that which in the long run of the game will make us lose.

If it was dropped to 2 hits it would be more balanced and you know if the protection hit actually worked...which 50/50 chance without someone being carried you take a hit next to a survivor you generally don't get the protection hit in my experience.

Actually you know what, since Ash has the perks for the whole dying state like Flip-flop, Buckle Up. With a Mettle of Man rework, give me a stack for getting someone off the ground whos being slugged and that way you can have another way to earn a stack but keep it at 3.

People in this thread don't realize how much time survivors waste to go out of their way to take 2 protection hits, never mind 3...

If you are playing the game correctly, taking protection hits does not take any time really unless you go out of your way for them OR you are recklessly doing it for no good reason.

In fact, in the case of someone being hooked and saving them from going down via a protection hit you gain alot more time as now they have to restart an entire hit to hit you or the player you protected, and that should be enough time to get to a pallet or window.

then heal up as well so playing in the sweat fest that is Rank 1 against Killers like Spirit, Nurse etc...who can gain a lot of map pressure,

Nurse is the only killer in the game that has incredibly oppressive play, as Spirit for example is still a M1 killer and her ability is a gamble considering its just a big mind-game. And of which, you still have to be incredibly good with Nurse for her to even become viable as if you aren't you likely won't kill anyone due to her major skill gap.

it doesn't make sense for me to go and try to take protection hits while someone is being carried etc..just to get a stack on a perk that can stop me from going down once in a game. I'd have to waste quite a bit of time doing that which in the long run of the game will make us lose.

As said before, if you are smart it might be. Lets set the stage.

If you took that protection hit to stop the killer from hooking the person and in turn it worked, then you didn't lose anything from that situation even without this perk. This perk is only a clutch as a backup incentive to play more smartly and in the case you were smart but stuff just didn't work out you are rewarded with a stack and potential a extra life. Which is a major issue buffing it because we already have plenty of clutch perks, and survivors have plenty of lives as it is during a match.

If it was dropped to 2 hits it would be more balanced and you know if the protection hit actually worked...which 50/50 chance without someone being carried you take a hit next to a survivor you generally don't get the protection hit in my experience.

No it wouldn't, that would make it much closer to the old version in which it took a basic attack instead, with the difference being now people will spam protection hits at opportune moments just to farm extra lives. This perk was nerfed significantly for the fact that it rewards you for actions you should not be rewarded for, and compliments actions that already can be significantly rewarding.

Actually you know what, since Ash has the perks for the whole dying state like Flip-flop, Buckle Up. With a Mettle of Man rework, give me a stack for getting someone off the ground whos being slugged and that way you can have another way to earn a stack but keep it at 3.

This is the dumbest idea possible, this would make it stronger then the original perk when it was not nerfed; as now you could never slug in any situation without not only allowing survivors to pick up they're teammate, but now also potentially gaining a free life in the process.

WE DO NOT NEED to give survivors extra lives, they already have control of the game, other ways of getting multiple lives via they're other perks and addons, the choice of what map the killer is playing, ect.

Imagine how long the que times would be if these insane ideas were added, there would be EVEN LESS killers then what there already is.

Okay if that's what you choose to feel bro that's what you choose to feel init. I'm not wrong for keeping to how I personally feel about situations.

Things are what they are. Noones wrong for not sharing the same views and attitude in this game..

Okay if that's what you choose to feel bro that's what you choose to feel init.

I don't choose to feel anything, feelings just come and go. This is why we don't ration with feelings on logical matters as at that point you would have equal luck rolling a dice for the objective best outcome.

I'm not wrong for keeping to how I personally feel about situations.

If it goes vs reality, then by popular definition ("not correct or true; incorrect.") you ARE objectively wrong. Truth and logic does not care about feelings, it is what it is.

Things are what they are. Noones wrong for not sharing the same views and attitude in this game.

Well things are what they are as pointed out, and I agree with the second point to some degree but not completely.

You aren't wrong for sharing views IF it doesn't harm anyone or anything to a objective significant degree with harm being defined as unrepairable damage done to object or being in this context.

However, if your views conflict with reality they are as well wrong. I want to believe for example that my Father is still alive, however no matter what I feel about the matter I would be objectively wrong for believing he is alive. As are you for ignoring objective facts about situations and instead going off of feeling.

You can disagree with the objective facts if you want (that doesn't even make sense really), but the fact remains the facts are still the facts.

If you disagree then you are just objectively wrong as that makes no sense.

However this clown was literally on top of the stairs, and if one went up the stairs he'd chase them down the stairs again. There's securing (fair enough) then there's being an absolute melt. Holding 2 survivors downstairs stopping them for achieving their challenges or enjoying the game. They literally felt like they had no option to just stand there or just DC. I mean put yourself into those survivors shoes and have a think about it. How would you feel being trapped in a basement for that long? 🤔 because I know what I'd of done. Those 2 weren't achieving any points or their challenges so quite understandably they quit. Why waste time standing still, when you could just quit and move into another match within 5 minutes and actually achieve your challenges?

Trouble is the only person available alive outside the killer hutch was me. 🤣 I mean by he time I've even got down to 1 gen , theyve DCd. Hatch is locked and spawned in the basement so I'm like yep alright il just get this over with and use the EG.... of course I had died 🙃 but hey! Looking on the brightside I wasn't a nob head, I played fairly and got myself some points. Just felt bad for the other 2 literally not gaining anything because they were held hostage. Who ever you guys are I'm sorry yall we're bullied by bubba.

However this clown was literally on top of the stairs, and if one went up the stairs he'd chase them down the stairs again. They literally felt like they had no option to just stand there or just DC.

Correct they FELT that way because they don't understand that the situation was not bad for them at all. Just because they feel that way DOESN'T mean it is that way.

Holding 2 survivors downstairs stopping them for achieving their challenges or enjoying the game.

Yes what bubba was doing is sorta annoying, however THEY stopped THEMSELVES from that because they decided to:

    • Get themselves in the situation in the first place that this outcome was possible
    • Not correctly play vs what bubba was doing

I mean put yourself into those survivors shoes and have a think about it. How would you feel being trapped in a basement for that long?

I came up with a plan instantly of sacrificing myself so my teammate could leave so we can continue on with the game. I have been in MANY situations like this and when everyone is doing what they should be the killer always suffers in the end when all the gens pop and they still are doing whatever they are doing and only to realize that if they don't stop whatever they are doing the survivors will just escapes much too late.

Why waste time standing still, when you could just quit and move into another match within 5 minutes and actually achieve your challenges?

Good question, they should of just counterplayer it or allowed you to do gens.

Trouble is the only person available alive outside the killer hutch was me. I mean by he time I've even got down to 1 gen , theyve DCd. Just felt bad for the other 2 literally not gaining anything because they were held hostage.

If you were able to pop off 4 gens, then you did your part, the game was clearly winning, the issue was the survivors. They did it to themselves. IF you didn't do gens and are lying then you equally contributed to their and your death because you have no reason to not be doing them.

They held themselves hostage if anything.

This seems to me actually like bubba was playing smart. If he went in then people could slip past after he got that first hit. He maybe didn't know if they had DH and could escape basement. He was trying to secure the kills in possibility. Its how I play basement aswell, if I see two people back off into basement unless I hear one healing the other I'll wait for them to step out to ensure I get them both. It sucks if he wasn't, but he may have been.

No, this is actually just throwing the game if you just wait there all match while you let survivors do gens.

Its only smart if the survivors don't counterplay it.

  • @MrPenguin said:

I thought they changed basement stair so the killer couldn't block people in anymore, did they change it back? Did something get reverted accidentally again?

Yeah that's holding the game hostage if they actually couldn't get out..

They could get out, they didn't revert that change just this is what happens when survivors who are newer to the game come to the forums. They complain about things that they could of outplayed, but didn't know thinking that the situation was lost and gave up getting upset with the outcome thinking that they couldn't do anything when they could.

But how can they be committed to gens if they're trapped in a basement 😂 he's held 2 people hostage for crying out loud !

    Simple:

    • If both survivors were healed, they can just rush upstairs and go around him.
    1. If bubba ready's saw keep pressure forcing him to tantrum or chase you with his saw.
    2. If bubba chases you with saw both survivors should go down stairs mindful of where bubba is and loop around hook until he tantrums.
    3. If bubba chases you but doesn't go down stairs, keep pressuring him and he will be forced to follow you or not have anymore power tokens left to which you escape in any case.
    • If both survivors were injured, they simply heal while Bubba is being not smart waiting on stairs for no reason and do the first method of escape.
    1. If bubba chases you when you attempt to heal, one person tanks a hit ultimately going down and the other person escapes.
    2. If bubba remains at hook where the survivor who was down is hooked instead of chases and basically camps, congratulations you have won as now gens are open without pressure and survivors can do all the gens for A survivors hook states.
    • If one is injured and one is not, then they can choose to heal or have the one that isn't injured take a hit to escape.
  • @Zixology said:

This is holding the game hostage. But hardly anyone here will tell you that because "killer good. survivor bad"

No its not, hardly anyone would say it is because even in that case you can still escape out of basement due to how strong the default kit is.

Not to mention IF a killer decided to be so dumb as to constantly stand at stair way he is giving free seconds to MINUTES of time away for no reason. Killer HAS to stop survivor getting gens done as a game in which he camps ANYWHERE and doesn't provide pressure is the same as forfeiting the game IF the survivors actually do gens and stop complaining/wasting time near hook.

I would argue the survivors in the game, would be the ones holding the game hostage because instead of doing they're main objective they are allowing two of they're teammates to get dogged on.

  • @SammiieK1991 said:

.... BUT.. nobody also likes a 35 minute match based around running the entire match 50 times, with 3 gens left to go because everytime someone goes to fix it they get chased away from them, then either constantly downed to bleed out, or being saved and instead of going for the saviour down the hooked one to the floor again. Also, found 2 survivors trapped standing up and injured in the basement with bubba standing on the stairs, everytime the survivors tried going up the stairs hed chase them back down them again. 😴 which eventually left those 2 no choice but to quit the game. And the remaining other 2 left to bleed out. 👍🙄 timed it to be 35 mins and 38 seconds 🤦‍♀️ ... so who else is having bad matches today 🤣😂

It is abnormally hard for the killer to bully survivors, you guys simply made the same mistakes over, and over and over and over again if so. You would have to be so inaccurate to have a 35 minute game.

In any sense, no I don't like short matchs but assume the game is a long match I still don't mind it if it is because I am just failing (as its how you learn to get better), or if its a even game.

  • @ill_Boston_lli said:

I don't understand. If i hook you its going to kill you much faster. Slugging is a slower form of hooks and you can be slugged many more times than being hooked. I don't get it. I would rather be slugged over and over and over than to be tunneled and hooked 3 times.

Well isn't it obvious? Its because sometimes it works, and sometimes it even stops the survivors from being annoying if they try to crowd you and they make too many mistakes.

You know, the same reasons camping, proxy camping, tunneling, ect isn't allowed. It doesn't even matter if you didn't do any of those things, survivors will still complain because they loss. At this rate, I think what they really are complaining about in these situations is getting downed, which makes sense because if we look in the rule book for killers by survivors it clearly states in page 1 in red underline "Always let survivors win".

Barbeque gives more bloodpoints alone, plus prove thyself only helps you get more bp in the objective category, leaving you with 8 thousand. Killer gets more by default and on a good game you get 60k or more. Survivor gets like 30k. The grind is actually worse for survivors when it comes to perks anyway because there are more perks on rhe survivor side than the killer side. Survivor is harder to grind with

I don't think you understand how the emblem system works nor how multipliers work. You can get a maximum amount of BP that is 32k per game at base with both killer AND survivor. This is because each emblem is 8000 at most per category, therefore you can never exceed this limit and always have a cap.

64k is hence the max with BBQ alone, however survivors ALSO have a bloodpoint perk called We're Gunna Live Forever which is exactly the same making survivors cap 64k as well.

Killer gets more by default and on a good game you get 60k or more.

So this is just flat out false, because both sides equally get the same amount of BP and unless offerings are added then you only can get 4000 more.

    Survivor gets like 30k

Survivors also get the same amount because they have the same multipliers.

The grind is actually worse for survivors when it comes to perks anyway because there are more perks on rhe survivor side than the killer side

Ah, well I think OP just made a inaccuracy in his words.

What he means (according to what I understand) is that because each of the killers are unique unlike survivors when you unlock certain perks you have a bigger grind to go through for the specific perks needed for that killer. For example, for nurse Nurse's Calling is amazing, so you are going around as nurse and relaxing until she is lets say 50. Well the issue is Nurse's Calling is quite terrible for most other killers, so if you ever find this perk for any other killer then its a issue as it only is applicable for one killer in terms of consistent viability.

However if you are a survivor, and you unlock lets say Borrowed time, because of the fact that the survivors are not unique if you ever find that perk in the blood web it is fine and completely viable to use regardless of the killer. There are many great perks for survivors to use for any survivor, but there are less great perks for killer to use on any specific killer.

So if I unlock one of these borderline brick perks for a killer and then I see that same brick perk for a killer that is only a brick as it does not help that killer with significant regard then I am increasing the grind as I need more BP. Now you have to consider there are many many perks that are not good for any one killer, and you will over time unlock many of these perks (3 per killer) that may or may not be a brick for any other killer(s) that you have and you start having issues.

    Hopefully I explained that well.

Survivor is harder to grind with

This is the only true thing you have said, and this is the only reason why you would get more BP consistently the average performance of survivors typically is not of that to get all category's and takes a good deal of luck in some.

IE: Teams that gen rush and escape are punished, ect.

It is really hard to get all emblems as survivor really because too many things can go wrong, and you need teammates who understand what is happening.

That being said, SURVIVIOR AND KILLER earn the same amount of BP, just survivors do not typically play in a way to where they always will get the max and neither do killer for that matter as killers are equally punished when gen rushers happen, ect.

  • Let’s not forget the multitude of addons which pollute blood webs for survivors.

Survivor and Killer both have these things, so its redundant to bring up.

Bringing up your comparison of nurses to bt is illogical.

It would be, if this was not just a flat-out lie. I didn't compare either of them, neither did I even explain what they did to even demonstrate such a claim. This is what happens when you don't read peoples reply but reply anyway.

Survivor perks in general work on every survivor since they don’t have the special ability killers have. Perks that work well with one power may not work well with another and that’s just too bad.

Thank you for informally proving me right by your own admission???? Do you not even realize that we are talking about why the grind is more for Killers then survivor with this regarded?? Screw you not reading my reply to someone else, did you even read what this post is about?? XD

Unless the message is to give survivors special abilities to make the grind somewhat fairer since the scenario in which levels are gained is comparable.

No, you are so off of base that you don't even understand what the conversation is about even by your OWN implications. This is again why we read what people say and don't just talk.

No one here even stated what you just said as far as I am aware unless I missed a comment, and even if that were to be the case you are replying to someone trying to help someone understand OP and NOT someone giving solutions to the problem but highlighting it. (0_0)

How can the survivors "get so easly all perks"? You have to grind just as much, even more actually since there are more survivors. There is no difference in unlocking perks between killers and survivors.

In fact, killers earn more bloodpoints on average than survivors.

Ah, well I think OP just made a inaccuracy in his words.

If a beggar comes up to you at the gas pumps asking for money, are you guilted into giving it to him, or do you just say you have no change?

I actually laughed when I read this because you just assumed a bunch of things for seemly no reason. I will go ahead and answer these questions anyway though. Personally considering I am 18 and just graduated I personally can give some amount to the homeless whenever I can but not often because I don't have a main source of income yet as I just graduated so alot of what you said couldn't even apply to me if you wanted it too, another reason not to assume things.

However with that being said, my mom is naturally altruistic and I have witness countless times when the homeless would ask for a couple dollars for food and every time she has failed not to directly go to the nearby food stores and give them the food directly. The reason she doesn't directly give them the money and instead gives them the food is because they are strangers and does not know them she wants to make sure the money is spend on food if you get my drift. Which is exactly why she decided to choose the career choice as a nurse.

As for myself, I am already applying to help out my moms hospital for charity work just to help people, as I don't have much to do until college is in and therefore find myself thinking "Well why not do something productive while helping people?". Hard to justify a cause on why not too.

This is all of course natural altruism for no real reason other than I am human, and therefore have a sense of humanity. About a month ago when we were driving into my grandmas town, my mom didn't pay attention and ran out of gas. As direct evidence of humans naturally helping each other from personal experience a lady pulled over and offered to help us. This is actually why I gave the specific example I did, because it was the easiest one that I can correlate to my reality.

People wanna play high and mighty from the comforts of there computer, but the cold hard facts are that humans have to work hard to make a good life for themselves, and a lot when presented with the opportunity, will step all over others to get there.

Ironically this is not even true, as it entirely subjective as everyone has a different walk of life. For example, a rich person at birth will have life easier in the monetary sense, but this says nothing of anything else. As another example, clearly your upbringing was a unfortunate one, and I am sorry to whoever has lied to you or did something to make you think that your mindset is the default mindset that most people have. I think you should see if you have depression as it would seem it but I will digress. You should work on your views of other people as your naturally or ill inflicted mindset will have you miss out on opportunities in life.

Those are the facts, and to believe that you are a savior is a crock

Another silly accusation to implicate something I have never said. I am not a savior of anyone, never did I claim to be. Nor are those the facts for most other people that I have ever met but your pessimistic mindset holds you back from realizing that. Not to say there aren't terrible people out there, there are but it is not in they're best interest nor others best interest to be terrible to one another. There is a reason why corrupt dictators eventually fall, few people cry, but most everyone rejoices. There are reasons why something such as racism was generally accepted but in time it was left behind by the majority of people, ect.

Sure, you can try to help some, but most are there because they are lazy, and are just waiting for you to come give them something for free. That’s the entitlement, and you are the sucker giving into their wants.

Sure, some people do scam other people out of stuff by pretending to be X in turn to obtain things. There are many reason for why, but the thing is I would rather happen to give 10 "homeless" people money, if it means I can help at least one actually homeless person. Your blatant disregard for life, more specifically humans and your assumptions about humans in general tells me your are either in a really dark time, or are quite immoral, either way its not my issue to fix, that's your issue to fix.

TBH, i didn’t read most of your retort. The run on sentences, and incorrect word placement made it difficult to read, and boring.

Well considering you don't understand why fairness logically is obligated to degrees, it is no surprise to me you are the type of person to make a fallacious red herring, even with that said however my points still stand, and ignoring them doesn't do much.

  • @BartSimpson said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2141837#Comment_2141837

That very comment screams of entitlement. Why do you think you deserve to be treated fair or equally?

How fallacious, I will still take on the point however.

Because it would be considered immoral to treat someone unfairly, with morality being defined as the actions that conclude in the wellness of life. Therefore, its backwards. You do not have the right to treat someone unfairly logically, as that would be harmful and therefore immoral.

We would have to define Fair as well, if you mean a widely accepted variation being "in accordance with the rules or standards; legitimate.", then it is of upmost importance then we treat everyone fairly as long as those rules do not also promote harm. This is why we have laws, and in this sense then the aforementioned applies duly.

If it is to mean the widely accepted variation being "without cheating or trying to achieve unjust advantage." it is not as equally relevant however profoundly needed the same. Most could find cheating immoral by its very nature.

if it is to mean fair as equal which would mean in popular conversation "a person or thing considered to be the same as another in status or quality." , and if we conclude we are talking about people such in this case then we can clearly state that you should be obligated to treat someone equally and fair in accordance to reason.

So in this context treating a stranger like a stranger, and therefore with distance, and a loved one with passion is fair. Therefore logically it would seem to treat someone unfairly would be immoral, illogical and would ultimately hurt the person in the long run. This is why naturally humans considerations for fair and to be reasonable are found as these traits promote community's helping each other which in turn increases either/both survivability and/or convenience.

IE: If someone has car issues and no one thought of the outcome to help the person then its not only unlikely other people will be helped, but even yourself you will find help unable to be found for your car when it breaks down or for whatever issue you have that typically people will have a chance to help you out otherwise.

This is the most logical retort I can come up with currently, and I do think I did well.

Uh actually this is a fair point I haven't really thought about too often. Although you do get alot more bp as killer in my experience but your point is still valid.

  • @ARatherStrangeKiller said:

Inspired by Trickstaaaaa's post, I want to ask the community, how would you fix the problem of the stress that comes with playing killer?

I'm sure most of us are well aware that playing killer is no walk in the park, especially when compared to the survivor experience. More often than not, a single mistake on the killer's part could cost what would've been a victory, having to then rely on a survivor's own mistake which can be hard due to second-chance perks (E.G. Deadhard and Unbreakable).

What could be changed to rectify this? Should survivors be given more to worry about? Should their second-chance perks be nerfed? Or should the killer experience itself change? Would the mythical "Early Game Collapse" help?

To answer the main question, stress is not controllable really. Its mostly completely subjective however there are ways to lower it, I mainly only stress over the balance really, thats why I have started to play nurse as she is the only killer I find viable without extreme luck on the killers side.

I mean I have said it before and I will say it again, if survivors want to be OP they can do so due to the fact that in the game the potential remains that gens can be done in a few minutes literally, survivors at base have 8 lives and can add additional lives via perks and items, loops are typically safe enough to force a killer to break pallet wasting more time in a chase and some loops have no counterplay due to how safe they are, Clutch perks allow extra time in chase many a times, survivors predominately can choose the map, ect.

I think Ruin is a universally good perk. It's better on some than others but it's not like it's an outright bad perk on anyone.

For example, STBFL is outright a bad perk for Nurse. She basically cannot utilise it in any manner, particularly with her power.

Edit- traps become active when a generator is completed so if all gens are done traps don't become active anymore. This means placing traps after gens are done does nothing since survivor can just leave with them on since they are inactive

I don't agree with camping or tunnelling unless it's deserved or a counter and the reason for that is it doesn't teach new killers how to counter looping or mind game so when they get to rank 13 - 15, when they go against smarter survivors they loose really, really easily and this just breaks matchmaking even more. If a killer camps or tunnels me I die on hook not only because it's a waste of my time but because I am not gonna sit there and let a killer sit smacking me on hook being toxic, killers like that need to get good. I mean a perfect example of a player like this was a prestige 3 Cannibal that was camping me on hook with Insidious and when my friend got me off hook obviously he tunnelled me only to DC instantly when my friend sabotaged the hook I was on. That killer is a perfect example of someone who was put against survivors not on the same skill level as him due to the bad matchmaking and him never learning to play the game good.

Again, it depends who you are going vs.

If it is a team of survivors who are a bully squad, you will camp and kill two survivors with optimized play and force a perpetual checkmate or you will allow the survivors getting a 4k escape if you don't unless you are a god nurse.

Its very effective vs new survivors as well, as they are more then likely to just hook farm they're teammates or go down in the process however I think this is frowned upon as its the boring route that is not needed to win the game.

Then you have the teams of survivors who never unhook unless you leave the person, but stay around in the vicinity waiting for you to leave. This if you can prove to yourself this is a team that is doing this, the best play is to camp as its the best response and counter play to what the survivors are doing as it both wastes time for them and ensures hooks.

As for incredibly adaptive survivors, but not very optimized, it actually would be a blunder camping as they would just do gens.

The list really goes on, but it is a strat that is viable depending on the situation.

Tunneling is almost never advantageous however as it can cause a lot of issues, such as allowing survivors to do gens and you not getting downs.

It does have its times however, such as someones last hook, they do gens and then you meet them later, ect.

Also what you just said was a good example of a meme basement build, it tells you nothing of how well that player is consistently, nor with other killers.

    Also they could:

-Quicken pig while she is sheathed because she is literally slower then nurse last I checked

I mean to me I don't view gen rushing as thing. I view it as the only mission of survivors. I don't get why survivors would want to purposely prolong the match. Their objective is to escape as quick as possible, so doing gens as quick as possible. Like why would they take their sweet time, just to give the killer more time to hunt them down. It does not make sense to me why some people think gen rushing can truly be a thing. Yeah I had matches were survivors did the gens in less than 5 minutes, but it's their only objective.

Yes, because you can literally complete gens in less then 5 minutes.

For reference it takes a few minutes for someone to even die on hook.

I don't understand why so many people are mad at the fact that Trickster doesn't look like a killer. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! He's meant to look like your average K-pop star, who doesn't look like he'd hurt anybody on purpose. He's SUPPOSED to lead a double life. Hell, there are some people who get SO CLOSE to getting it, but just miss it.

Not every killer has to look like they just unburied themselves, FFS.

Prolly because no one actually cares about a killer based on if they are in some pop band.

I think this killer was introduced as a excuse for someone in the dev team to add some band artist or something they really like.

In any case, I don't think I have heard anyone say this before. I am more focused on how bad his power is...

So as most of you know that throughout the years killers has the short end of the stick getting nerf after nerf so surviors could teabag and say gg ez at the exit gate cough cough hillbillly, freddy, demogorgon, ghostface, pig, these killer were balanced but survior main complained and these character got nerfed and surviors oh boy lets see luck break ds , borrowed time by the way if a person have ds a get downed they can get a easy escape no matter what i had match where i downed a laurie she was crawling for exit picked her up ds and easy escape and undying came out which was balanced because it was a bandaid for bad totem spawns and keep ruin for longer plus if surviors had maps and or autohaven worst place for totems u would be left with only two perks and no gen defense the entire game i play survior as well but come on surviors getting easier and easier just by killers getting nerfs so surviors can have fun and killers no they dont deserve fun

Yes, it is objectively survivor sided.

The only reason you get any 4k - 3k games is due to the fact survivors do not always play optimally.

Even though this is the case, you still have the potential for all gens to pop in 5 minutes or less (literally), for everyone to be strong loopers during that time, for everyone to run second chance groups, for everyone to bring keys and instaheal med kits, ect.

The fact that this all is possible I think would make it irrefutable that this game is survivor sided, as if we have to rely on the survivors making mistakes AND not playing SWF as some here think is the only way that its killer sided (which is still false), I would have to say that is suitable for it to be survivor sided.

I'm going to clear up a few misconceptions on this thread.

Technically we don't ban for farming but it's a very grey area - if you are forcing players to farm with you, then yes that's most definitely reportable.

In the instance that the OP reported above, there was nothing that happened in that match that was reportable - it seems like the survivors were happy to farm with the killer, the killer then chose to kill the survivors, nothing wrong with that at all, it's basically the risk you take if you choose to play a farming game.

I personally don't farm in games, if the killer is just wanting to farm I will do the gens and get out because I find it incredibly boring and just want to get onto the next game and I've also never farmed as a killer - if I want to get achievements etc, I play the game normally to get them, even if it's harder...that for me is part of the challenge of playing.

The first objective post from a mod that is logical and helpful that I have seen on this forum.

But he didn't really farm considering he killed us all.

In any case, IT is NOT bannable to kill survivors for any reason other then cheating.

Imagine if it were, special requirements that you could meet to kill a survivors and then get banned for it that would be dumb.

Tunneling, Camping, ect is also not bannable and its also a terrible strat depending on the survivors.

what was strong about it was replacing pallets that were dropped, so when a survivor that is solo/not apart of swf heads to that side of the map & is not aware the pallets have been dropped, it’s problematic. you can say “just pay attention to what pallets are up before you’re asleep” but - A) what if you start asleep? B) what if you’re new & don’t even know where pallets are supposed to spawn to begin with? C) what if the survivor runs to that side of the map for the first time that match, how do they possibly know the pallets were dropped? Yes, you can wake up, but you can’t while you’re in chase which usually happens after he hits you & puts you to sleep.

I say all this, but keep in mind, I’m a Freddy/Doctor main. I don’t think Freddy needed a nerf at all. he isn’t strong. he’s a normal m1 killer with a little extra features. I just think survivors never complain about what is actually annoying about him - aka PALLET FREDDY. Slowdown Freddy? Do gens. Snare Freddy? not a problem. go around the snare. I actually feel like the only thing that needed changes was the pallets. Didn’t need to touch snares at all. Snare Freddy is always an easy win for me as survivor. Pallet Freddy is an easy loss.

    Lmao, you actually are trolling.

  • @Hoodied said:

Like bruh what was strong about his pallets?

Because like a few select people I have met, devs think it is a good idea to go based soley on statistics at times and therefore they don't understand the reasons why killers have high or low kill rates.

I would bet this is the main reason.

Putting any abstract and relative concept into a rigid definition wouldn't be easier or shorter. And if it is, then its certainly not as accurate.

Thats why you don't do that and you be accurate AND precise, duh.

In any case, if you don't define what you are talking about you can't even start to be accurate because you don't know what you are arguing for nor vs.

Its like trying to make a argument for or vs a god with someone, and then never defining it. That's dumb, you are just going to end up never understanding each other if you guys don't agree on what a god is or in this case cheating.

Some people think exploits are not cheating because they are in the game and therefore you should be able to use them, others say they offer unfair advantages. Some people think using any glitch, even a glitch that doesn't give a unfair advantage is cheating, ect. The list goes on.

This is why defining cheating would of helped you, instead of just giving a bunch of theoretical situations in which someone could or couldn't find this as cheating. Also, nothing is wrong with your method, its accurate just not precise, and there is a difference between the two.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/204625/why-isn-t-it-against-the-rules-to-leave-one-person-to-bleed-out

If this would be applied to survivors who slug away only to not be hooked, then yes, it should be a bannable offense

    No it shouldn't.

  • @xenotimebong said:

I’m not talking about accidentally losing someone and having them bleed out, or slugging someone a couple of times and their timer naturally expiring, or survivors who crawl into a corner with no hooks on purpose. I’m talking about killers who down someone, and then stand over their downed body for several minutes until they bleed out.

Why is this acceptable to the devs? It serves absolutely no purpose except to grief someone. It’s rude, it’s toxic and it has no justification in terms of game mechanics. So why is this not bannable?

And please don’t say “well you’ll bleed out eventually”. I don’t think that’s a good justification to allow griefing behaviour. If someone has video evidence of a killer doing this, when it’s clear that they could easily hook the survivor but refuse to, I don’t see how it can possibly be justified.

Its not griefing behavior, it is a simple strat that allows for extra time in the game for the killer.

Imagine if you had to pick up the survivor, but someone is trying to flashlight you the entire time, this is a perfect example on why faking it and starting another chase would be viable.

Hate it so bad? Well, lucky for you this game is not fair for killers and you have perks that give you extra lives, and a counter perk for this too.
