Solo survivor is harder than killer. SWF is easy mode, you can rely on them not to DC or Suicide and get the right perks.

Nah I would say that tbh.

As long as the rest of the team just do their tasks and aren't scared, I will manage my own.

A lot of time I see 2 survivors or more working on 1 gen.

The killer comes to them and all just disappear and only come back after a while.

If I'm working on a gen and i see the killer go after the other survivor, I'm back on the gen.

Even if the killer is like 10m away.

It's just a matter of learning the tiles and how to optimise them.

If possible even chain 2 or more loops into 1, especially if the killer doesn't break a pallet you can create an infinite loop.

When you use mics and split up on gens its really not all that difficult. Hardly some major accomplishment.

It's not hard in general as survivor tho.

Like just now I finished a game vs ghostface and went down just once after a long time.

He came straight back to me after unhook and we had a massive chase again.

All that time I wasted of him costs him 3 gens.

After that it was gg even though he got 1 because that guy got greedy.

I played solo and the rest of my team I can't say if they were swf

  • @Eninya said:

I guess if your SWF is all 500 hours and have the map landmarks memorized survivor is easier.

Otherwise, playing killer and knowing the survivor spawn algorithm is pretty easy...

I knew totem spawns, gen locations all well before I even got 100 hrs in the game.

Same as the maps, they are not that difficult to memorise at all.

When you play survivor and you sit comfy at a gen and looking around.

You can allready lay out a plan.

Like i got a pallet there leading into a tl, overthere I got a jungle gym and overthere I got something else.

That is exactly how I play survivor, I lay out a plan to escape and loop the killer as long as possible.

As killer you have to do that on the fly 99% of the time.

You also have to keep pressure on 4 people, trying to get into their mind, etc.

So basically find a survivor, down a survivor, pick the survivor up, bring him to the hook and hook him and then do that another 11 more times.

As survivor it's a matter of doing 5 gens and waste time off the killer and not getting downed is a lot of time wasted on him.

I'm delusional? Wow. While yes I agree that survivors quit more and are salty, the amount of killers complaining about EVERY SINGLE SURVIVOR PERK literally outweighs the amount that survivors complain about. There is salt on both sides but I guarantee that killers complain so much more on the forum. I complain to my wife after being camped, but not often in here

Don't tell me your wife is the killer? 😲

Because you wont have to rely on teammates, even in sfw playing with premade teams, not having someone to rely on but yourself means if you're skilled, you cant go wrong,as survivor even if you're skilled, you can still lose if your teammates aren't.I sure wish there was a survivor mode where you have to survive on your own without worying about your teammates.

I play survivor and killer and always solo.

I never rely on my team and always make sure I did everything I could for me and the team.

I never care about escaping, it doesn't give anything extra (except from a few bp extra and keeping your item), I care for the chases cause these are the most fun for me than sitting at a gen.

And yet I still escape 90% of the time.

As a survivor you can mess up many time, especially with the right perks, as killer making a mistake it can cost you much.

As killer, try and go against a well organised swf.

Or a 4 man swf with OoO.

I wish you al the best In those matches cause you'll need that.

So imo before making any assumptions like which side is easier, I suggest you play both in red ranks.

If you do, than you might want to check out what you can do better as survivor, because survivor is damn easy mode.

Well let's agree to disagree there, as I don't see we will agree with eachother here πŸ˜‰βœŒοΈ

You died because you couldn't win a chase, not because of NOED. If you looped the killer "through all gens", as you put it, then your skill was obviously much greater than theirs, so you could've won a chase if you wanted to.

I have to disagree with you on that.

Remember noed is an end game perk, it grants you a speed boost and insta downs.

If you loop the killer for 5 gens than your recourses are gone or nearly gone.

Yes you can vault windows but that's only 3 times, then where do you go?

Also he's probably on bloodlust too (if that is possible with noed, cause I don't know as I never use it), so even gets an greater speed boost.

I've looped killers for 5 gens and then get downed by noed as soon as the last gen pops.

So it is not entirely true that you van win the chase if you wanted to.

If there's only been 1-2 gens done then eating DS is a good strat. If exit gates are powered then yeah don't but it def isn't bad too eat DS early and leave the survivor down a perk. And I agree Soul Guard + Unbreakable + DS is bs and needs heavy nerfs. I thought the devs learned their lesson with MoM but clearly not. Endurance is too strong a power for perks.

Sure it early game it might.

But even than it can cost you badly.

Hahaha don't get me wrong here, but the devs learning?

Nah that will never happen, they do things without thinking and hardly ever listening to the community.

Mark my words, whenever this combo is nerfed, they will bring out other perks which are again to strong with others.

It's an endless circle they're in.

  • @BunnyTheHutt said:

I'd like too add some survivor perks, like Unbreakable + Soul Guard and DS.

DS: just eat it. 9/10 the survivor would of wanted it later so the sooner you eat it the less options they have.

Soul Guard + Unbreakable: Wait 8 seconds then hit them.

Adrenalin: Run NOED. Honestly a 4 man Adrenalin doesn't matter when you insta down everyone.

Yeah honestly there is no real counter to the soul guard, ds, unbreakable combo.

Hope they going to rework something from those 3 so they can't have that sinergy (or however you write it) anymore.

And personally I think they should because they also did it with the ruin/pop combo.

Eating ds might work in the lower ranks but not as good in the higher ranks.

It cost you to much as killer when you eat the ds.

It can cost you the game as killer, which it will most likely do anyway with that combo.

Leave them on the ground the get up and you need to find them again.

Eat the ds and you get stunned and you need to chase that survivor once again.

So yeah not really something good come out of any decision you make as killer then.

  • Guessing becomes a counter when you make her think you do 1 thing but do the opposite.

If you get into the mind of a killer you are allready countering them.

Yes it sounds weird but it is.

If she doesn't know what you are going to do because you're staying unpredictable and mix things up, sounds to me you are countering her.

Mind games is what it's all about against spirit πŸ˜‰

let me say this your versing console killers, console killers are braindead

Thank you very much dear sir for the insult.

Let me say you this then, if I'm an braindead console killer and I get a 4k against pc survivors, what does it make them then?

And 1 other thing I also faced spirits from pc just as nurse and still get them for a walk around the map.

So please don't talk ######### about different platforms, cause there are good and bad killers and survivors on all platform.

Talk like that makes you look really stupid imo. ✌️

the problem with spirit is the 1v1 having no interaction and the fact that it its so boring, your making the statement "just genrush to counter" which you can do for any killer and is so incredibly boring for survivors, chase interaction is the only reason people play survivor long term

When did I make the statement to genrush against her?

Don't know where you're coming from, but i never said that.

Al you need to do is a little out of the box thinking and mixing up some tactics.

When she's phasing she sees you as clearly as you see her.

So use it to your advantage, I gave several examples on how you can keep her guessing what you are doing.

Again (and that is my opinion and experience) I don't have any problems facing her.

If locker plays work for you against Bubba 99% of the time then you are going against some low-rent Bubbas. Even if you time things perfectly and jump out of the locker as soon as my chainsaw ends I'm just going to start revving it again in your face. And then what do you do?

    Good and bad ones.

Just finished a game vs him just now, did the same thing.

I was out positioned and the locker was the best option, jumped in and waited for his sweep to finish.

Jumped out, he starts revving his chainsaw again and I run to a pallet and throw it down.

By the time I got there I had no other option, otherwise I would have either just ran or used a tree.

Was on MC millan Estate btw.

But even if there wasn't a pallet, at least I have waisted time on him for my team.

And that is what it is all about

    Been there, done that.

It works when he's allready sweeping his chainsaw, otherwise he just cancels his rev and grabs you.

you should do a stream where you just do 1v1s with people who say they can counter spirit, but you would probably die of boredom

That is the problem a lot of people make, it's a 4v1 not a 1v1.

Yes in a 1v1 you will eventually get that person but that is to be expected.

If you play any killer as a 1v1 the game is over in no time.

I have vs many spirits (good and bad ones) and still get a long chase and escape.

Just a side note, I never run Iron will, unless it's a tombe challenge, I will never run this.

  • @skarsguts said:

To be clear: I'm not here to talk about any NOED nerfs or changes.

Just had a Blight chase me through five generators, and I get screwed over by NOED at the end. In this game he was running Hex: Undying with Ruin and NOED (I forget the fourth perk).

I was able to cleanse one lit totem before I started to get chased (was Ruin but because of Undying it transferred.)

In this scenario, I really think a totem counter could have brought more incentive to my teammates to cleanse totems during the game - and of course it helps keep track of how many totems remain on the map. They cleansed a lit totem while I was being face-camped to death but it wasn't NOED.

I'm the type of survivor that cleanses every totem I see, so this is really irritating as a solo. On top of it all, I de-pipped, which in itself is not fair considering Blight was all over me the entire game. Red ranks BTW.

Sorry mate but that is on your team.

Yes it is a broken perk but so is OoO.

There are more than enough counters and don't need anymore.

You have small game, maps, that tapp perk I believe deja vu if I'm not mistaken, and of course using your eyes πŸ˜‰

So no need for a counter for totems not even by numbers.

Survivors only objectives are to do gens and totems,so not much to deal with.

Btw also a solo que rank 1 survivor and killer

  • @gatsby said:

As a Killer, the entire way you play the game centers around generator locations. Ideally, you'll try to manipulate chases so Survivors stay near generators, which saves time for you when they're downed and increases the odds of the Survivor interrupting gens being worked on.

But with Visionary, Survivors can do the reverse. They can see which map geometry doesn't have generators and intentionally lead chases away from the important sections of the map. Basically, if you play around Visionary's generator Auras you can easily make Killers leave you or take extremely costly chases. Even early game, you can be intentional about saving pallets near generators and going to areas that have no reason for the Killer to chase in.

I hit Rank 1 Survivor yesterday because of Visionary. I'm almost always a Rank 1 Killer, so adding generator Auras to my perk loadout really turned on my Killer mindset to help me with Survivor games.

Don't get me wrong here, not trying to be an Ahome of any kind.

But as survivor you always try to take the kler away from gens.

You can even hear during chases if they're working on one and adjust your routing.

Personally i thing visionary is a wast of perk as gens are easy to find without it.

(except on lery's, but that is a map I always struggle on 😬)

If you as survivor stay near a gen than you're not playing it right imo.

As killer you have to make a choice when chasing a survivor.

Strong survivors always try to get you away as far as possible.

Smart killers know when they need to break the chases.

I only go for long chases if the gens are going really slow, otherwise I make sure I down you really fast and get back to the gen and scare other survivors away.

So personally I would say visionary is just like Windows of oppertunity and deja vu, it's good for beginners nothing more.

  • @Carlosylu said:

Ok, here are some basic counters to things people find anoying or uncounterable, hope this helps someone.

    Perks:

    • NOED: Do totems, help yourself with Small Game if you're having that much trouble with this perk, if it pops, just leave, don't play hero unless you don't care if you die in the process (I play hero all the time, hehehe)
    • PGTW: Repressed Alliance, you can't repair the gen for 30 seconds but the killer can't kick it either and get the progress down.

    Killers:

    • Spirit: Fixated, as soon as she phases walk TOWARDS her, she'll lose you 9/10 times.
    • Freddy: Fixated, if he teleports to your gen, Fixate into cover, don't run
    • Trapper: Small Game (hope it gets a buff to see auras of abjects detected someday) can help you detect traps
    • Bubba: Keep running, they have the "mental glitch" of starting the chainsaw close to a pallet cause they know you're dropping it (I'll share a vid of how to do so as a comment)
    • Legion: Learn to 360, when in sprint, cause of his speed, it's easier to dodge
    • Huntress: Crouch when she throws the Axe, it works more if there's a structure between you both. Don't run in a straight line.
    • Plague: CLEANSE, if she grabs corrupt HIDE, those are long but easy games if you do this
    • Myers: There's no counter, you're doomed (nah, he's my nemesis, I always die to him, I can't give advice against him). Spine Chill maybe? I say "maybe" cause once he changes tiers it's practically a wasted perk
    • Ghost Face: Spine Chill
    • Pig: Spine Chill
    • Billie: He's dead now, but I'd say SPLIT, don't let him get multiple downs by staying close to each other
    • Pyramid Head: Crouch, if you crouch through his marks it doesn't affect you. NEVER run in a straight line.

Share any tip you'd like others to know, lets help each other.

Bubba: trees, doorpost (game map for example) run around that like the old days and there's a big chance that he hits something.

When he's sweeping and you're close to a locker, jump in and wait till the very last sec to jump back out.

When he's right on your ass reving his chainsaw and you are at a pallet, just drop in and keep running.

Pig: when you have a bear trap on your head an d not active, just do gens if possible.

Unless you're right next to a box ofcourse.

Spirit: easier than a lot of people think.

When in chase, run back to her over your own tracks, or stop running and walk a different way.

When in chase near a pallet, mix things up here.

Drop the pallet while you're on the other side, and slow vault back over.

Drop the pallet while you're on the side where you came from (she expects you on the other side).

Plague: personally I would say, see what the rest of the team does.

If you're good at looping, I'd say don't cleanse.

But mind you, as soon as you notice she has blood echo that cleanse.

If the rest of your team don't cleanse than don't screw them over by giving her more pools for corrupt.

Just try to avoid her as much as possible than.

    Legion: they are pretty easy.

When in frenzy and you hear their heartbeat start running away from them.

The chances are low they will get you with frenzy then, cause big chance they run out of the ability.

At a window or dropped pallet, vault and pretend to run to a side.

When they slide over you run and vault back over.

It wastes their time and cost him part of his ability meter.

Myers: what someone else also said, try to keep him in tier 1 as long as possible.

Use objects to zig zag trough so you constantly break line of side.

Scratch mirror myers: yeah you might forget this one.

Sounds are everything here, you can hear him breath before he's even close to you.

Start running as soon as you hear him.

Depanding on the map, don't start throwing down pallets early.

Remember, he has to be on your ass to get a hit cause it is very short, even with the add on.

Also remember he is very slow, so you can easily run in a straith line.

By the time he catches up, you're allready on the other side of the map.

Just some things that pop into my mind as there are a lot more.

A lot of people find certain killers hard/unfun/broken, give it a name, while all it requires is a tiny adaptation.

  • @megdonalds said:

It's boring for both sides. As Blight, you are very weak, and against him the game devolves into gen rush simulator because his power is too easy to counter.

No offence but the killer is only out for what? A few hours?

You as well as everyone else still need to learn how to play as and against him.

You can't say if he's weak or strong after only a couple of games.

Sure he might nog suit your playstyle, that is possible, but having a judgement this quick I can't take seriously.

No game will ever fix "all" its glitches, but yes, the game is always being optimized and patched.

We don't need and will never get a whole "QOL chapter" just because console players don't understand that the issue with fixing optimization isn't because BVHR is just too busy pumping out chapters to do it.

I never said to expect all bugs and glitches to be gone.

The example I gave in a previous comment about R6s still applies in this situation.

They kept also pumping out new seasons and with it there came old and new bugs with it.

They decided to not bring out new maps and operators and focus on fixing as much as possible.

Which they did and look where they are now and how easier they can fix stuff now compared to what it was before.

It's something bhvr can do as well and making it easier for themselves for future updates/chapters/reworks etc

  • @Mooks said:

It’s a lost cause, people would still find bugs or glitches and will just complain as if nothing happened. They can’t guarantee a bug-free version, ever. There is also bugs that are hard to reproduce and that will only be noticed in the live version just like the downed survivors that don’t make sound, they thought they fixed it but it could still occur after their β€šfixβ€˜. It didn’t matter how rare that bug was (I myself never experienced it once), people still complained and called the dev team incompetent.

    I did have noticed that.

Sure there are always people complaining a lot.

But if they delayed a killer/survivor dlc, the team can get focus more on the bugs and clitches.

If they keep releasing dlc while trying to solve problems at the same time it makes it harder to fix.

Cause they might fix it but with the dlc it wasn't fixed and thus bringing it back into the game.

It's like I said, it makes it easier to solve problems and will improve for the long run.

For example take a look at rainbow six siege and operation health.

They focused on solving as much problems as possible that chapter/season.

And it did improve a lot and made it easier to solve future problems.

  • @Science_Guy said:

lol this chapter is basically the QOL chapter.

Yeah did they fixed all or most of the bug/clitches in the game?

Did they optimise the console versions?

Sure you have an graphics update for 2 maps which is nice and all.

But I'm just talking about all those bugs and clitches not the graphics.

  • @Todgeweiht said:

Everybody would like this but the devs have already stated they have no plans for that.

The choice is up to them ofcourse, tho this would make things more easy for them in the long run instead of trying to plaster fix everything.

    @Bullettimegod said:

Not to mention. They need money.

Sure they need it, and they get it a lot from cosmetics and dlc.

And bring the game back up to a good level means more people might be starting to play it or jump back on it again.

So means more money in the long run again

  • @Hi_Hello_Gooday said:

Licensed DLC Characters are locked behind paywalls and this is fine since stronger alternatives are available through purchase with in game shards for killers and survivors themselves are essentially just skins. The real problem at play here is those characters perks.

Decisive strike is a full 60 seconds of invulnerability for any survivor off of a hook, locked behind at least a 5 dollar paywall. Barbecue and Chili doubles the speed at which you can level up characters and is one of the best information perks in the game, locked behind at least a 5 dollar paywall. Save The Best For Last, Demogorgen's Best perk for his kit, locked behind at least a 5 dollar paywall. Surveillance a huge bonus for any Pyramid Head player, locked behind at least a 5 dollar paywall. Make your choice one of the best perk additions for the Wraith and Freddy, locked behind at least a 5 dollar paywall.

Of course you can win without any of these perks but that's not the issue, no pay to win game lets you buy automatic wins, they let you buy advantages which these perks clearly are.

Now you may say that the shrine of secrets is the answer to my problem but it is nothing but a faulty bandage on a gaping wound. Decisive Strike has shown up 11 times on the shrine, Barbecue and Chili has shown up 4 times, Save The Best For Last 10, Surveillance 4, Make Your Choice 5, and I wont go on to mention how some of the DLC perks from as old as Demogorgen haven't even been listed in the shrine yet.

You ask players who do not wish to pay for killers or survivors they don't want to wait for an unlisted amount of time till their perks are purchasable with shards, this is the same thing Battlefront 2 did. Make players grind for months for the chance to get the more powerful tools while others can just pay to get it immediately. All perks should be purchasable for Iridescent Shards and shouldn't be locked behind a pay/wait wall.

Edit: So people stop commenting just purchase the DLC and stop complaining,I have all DLC that is not the problem. It's that you are forced to buy it if you want an advantage or wait for what could be forever to get all DLC perks

Edit #2: I mention in this post I mean perks not characters, please read that part, I mention in this post what is wrong with the shrine system and on average it takes two years to get a full set of DLC perks for one character, please read that part. I also mention that these perks do not equal auto wins only advantages, please read that part. No P2W game that is multiplayer allows you to buy free wins.

Honestly I don't see a pay to win here.

Yeah some perks are strong others not so, beside most of the perks are easy to counter imo.

I also agree with you on that the survivors are basically just skins.

However I don't agree with you on the killer part tho.

All killers have their own unique powers, so they're basically not "just" skins.

Every survivor only brings their own unique perks and that's it.

They don't run faster or anything, it's just a different skin on a character model.

Killers have their unique powers, unique perks, and you have a difference from a 110% to a 115% speed.

It is good to have different perks and the reason that (especially the licenced chapters) are behind a "pay wall", it that costs time and resources to create them, not to talk about the payment for licensing certain chapters.

I think there are 1 or 2 free chapters if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think that you would love it when you were on your job and your boss said their not paying you for all your hard work because everything the company makes has been given away for free, right?

    Same goes for bhvr πŸ˜‰βœŒοΈ

  • I've said it before and this proves it more and more.

This company is starting to look more and more like zipper interactive.

A game who said they listen to the community, yet they did their own thing and what was better for them.

Instead of actually listening to the community, which eventually led to to closing of the company.

A lot of promises but nothing done.

Sure Sony had a little blame in it too, but when you as a company keep ignoring your community, this will lead to people being fed up with all the shallow promises and leave the franchise.

They even banned people from forums too who had a to loud voice for them and brought the problems to the attention.

Like I said, it sounds very familiar with what is happening here with bhvr.

Unbelievable. This pc entitlement is annoying, the lack of actual change is annoying, and everyone's patience is running thin

I agree, back in 2018 they said there was an console optimization update coming.

But after that it stayed quiet on that subject and they ignoring the subject.

Last time when they streamed I went over and asked it a couple of times if we could still expect the update.

Maybe not the time and place to ask them, but where do you go when they ignore all other sources?

A couple other viewers also started asking that question and the were shut up by removing their messages.

None of the dbd members who were in that stream even said anything about the subject.

Sure when you play ps4 vs ps4 it's not that big of a deal but as soon as crossplay got implemented it becomes a big issue.

It's never fun to play with at least half the fps than that from pc.

They announced crossplay and after a few weeks it was allready implemented and here we are waiting 2 years for the console optimization update, get your freaking priorities in order.

First bring the optimisation so the console players are closer in terms of gameplay to the pc players.

Sure they might have other advantages/disadvantages, but like fps at base they have at least half more frames and that is very noticeable (for me at least as I can't speak for everyone)

The problem is, chasing and downing an OoO user can be considerably more difficult, since they usually cannot be surprised (unlike stealth killer), so no easy first hit, and they are usually good loopers. If you don't want to throw the match entirely, you often do not have the time to chase that one. Patience is key in this scenario. Let them do a faraway gen and get steadily nearer to you, instead of chasing after them. In my experience,

I get way better results when just ignoring the OoO for half the trial and store up my revenge for them to use later. When I imidiately chased them, I usually gave up to much gen pressure and got the gens flying. I would get and hook the OoO eventually, but if the team is well coordinated the will get that one unhooked and out of the trial, so in the end you achieved nothing, not even revenge. If the OoO is a noob player, ok, then just punish them as you like ^^.

That is the best way to do indeed.

I do it the same way and make sure they're close to me and than get them.

I always try to make sure I push them where they're out positioned making it easier for me.

Recently had a 4 man swf where 1 person switched last sec to a key.

At that 'm i knew they were gonna try everything to make it unfun for me.

Especially when I saw them choose the farm map.

And as I said, as freddy OoO is just a pain when they don't wake up.

Managed to push that person to fake pallets and got her down.

Later I intercepted her trying to go for an unhook.

She panicked at went in the corn hoping I would lose her.

Got her down, but since she was recently unhooked I left her and hit everyone who I saw going for her.

She got picked up but only for 1 sec, brought her to the hook and she dc'd.

After that the whole team went down very fast, because they lost all info from their friend.

So whenever I get the chance to dispose the OoO from the playing field, I sure will take that opportunity.

I always love getting hate mail after that game complaining I tunnel them, like what do you expect when you run that perk?

Ofcourse I'm going for your ass when I get the chance, especially if I know they get unhooked without bt, then your ass is mine for sure and I make it as fun for you as you wanted to make it for me

Nope, it always activated when the surv looks in the direction of the killer, it was never a requirement for the killer to do the same.

But this would actually be a favorable nerf to the perk, imo. If it only activated when both look at each other, it would weaken the information gain (which is much needed, esp when used in swf) and add a counter for the killer. To not overnerf it, we could still keep the icon flashing whenever the surv looks into the killers direction, but the aura is only shown if the killer is facing the user.

I had another suggestion for adjusting ooo some time ago: Only the obsession gets the ooo effect. If you are not the obsession and have this perk, tough luck, your perk is useless. If the killer can still see you I'm not sure about. This would prevent multiple ooo auras at the same time and adds some more interaction to the obsession switch mechanic. Killers could rob the ooo user his aura by getting DS stunned or using Nemesis / Furtive Chase. Survivors could get it back by using For the people. I think that would make some nice dynamics.

Trust me, it has been that way.

It also said back then the perks activates when both killer and survivor looked in each others direction.

Maybe not in these exact words but i do remembered it.

Why they decided to change it into this i have no idea.

  • @Iceyrawr said:

I don't even want to elaborate why this perk is broken in SWF, because we all know why.

Dev mentioned in multiple occasion that they want to buff solo survivors to the level of SWF,

then shouldn't this perk be the priority on your list of change?

If I want to find a perk that completely divides the strength of solos and SWF,

it won't be decisive, borrow time, dead hard, but THIS perk, I seriously don't get why devs never changed OoO.

Honestly they did change it, but made it worst by doing it.

Before the change OoO would only activate if the killer and survivor would look at each other when outside the tr.

Then they changed it to what it is right now, survivors get info regardless if the killer looks at you or not.

Making it perk with zero counter as killer unless you play a stealth killer.

On freddy it is even worst if they never wake up they have infinite info, cause it will show your aura regardless of how close you are.

So no mindgaming there and the only 2 things you can do is to either leave them alone and ignore them (which is gonna be a problem when all 4 are using it tho, which is painful to deal with i can tel you) or brute force your way trough everything.

But by doing that will cost you so much time, that mmwhen you get 1 of them the game is over or close to be over.

  • @Avarice10 said:

Killers get all sorts of perks that show exactly where survivors are, why can't Survivors have OoO? Balancing the game around SWF is ridiculous.

Killer might have some aura reading perks yes, but they can be countert by other perks or simply hiding in a locker.

OoO has zero counter for the killer unless you're playing a stealth killer.

Try playing as freddy vs a 4 man swf all with that perk.

I can tell you from experience, that ain't fun especially when they stay asleep.

Meaning they can see you at all times, even when you're next to them on the other side of the wall.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1583372#Comment_1583372

Correct, the killer can see any OoO users regardless of whether they are looking at the killer

Would made it more fair as the survivor(s) using it can also do the same allready.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Easy rework: make it a two-way street. You can see the killer's Aura, but they can see YOURS, even if you arent looking at them

You mean if you look away from the killer but the killer looks at you, they can still you?

Or like it is now, where you can see the killer even when he looks away from you, but the killer can't see you when you look away? Cause right now that is the case which makes it a completely broken perk

  • @thrawn3054 said:

Simply change it to only active when both the killer and survivor look at one another. That might be enough to keep it from being obnoxious.

    Exactly.

That is precisely what I was saying.

Change it back to the old way and than you can at least counter it for a bit

  • @Justalittlepeeck said:

    Broken mess of a perk.

    Thanks

Agree the perk is really broken.

There is absolute zero couterplay against when your not a stealth killer, against freddy the perk is even worst.

As long as the survivor(s) with OoO are asleep, they can see you at all time because you have no heartbeat.

And trust me a swf with 4 of them using it is absolutely not fun at all.

Have had it once on swamp and it was an absolute nightmare.

Was happy enough to get at least 1 kill.

    @Nova_Terra said:

Almost every killer can be undetectable. It's really not as strong as it used to be.

    Say that again?

The perk is stronger than it used to be.

Before you could as killer look away and they couldn't see you anymore.

So if you knew where they are because of it, you turn around and walked backwards to them.

It was tricky, but it was a counter to it.

The way it is right now, there is 0 counter to it.

Like I said to the person who posted this treat.

Try playing freddy against a 4 man swf and all 4 with OoO and show me how well you do?

Like I said, I was glad to get 1k despite 2 others been hooked twice and the other once.

The only reason I could get them was because they were pretty terrible.

Against an well organised swf team on coms you have 0 chance.

Cause you can't mindgame them or trying to bait them making a mistake because they can see you at all times, even when you're right next to them.

Like for example the killer shack.

You can't bait them jumping the window and hit them as they do it, cause as soon as they see you changing direction, they just stop.

The only way to get at least 1 is brute forcing everything, and as we all know by the time you get one the game is over.

So personally I'd love to see it changed back to what it once was at least, so it has some sort of counter to it.

My boy Pyramid Head has a fun power, along with him being overall cool looking imo, however his flaw comes down to his add-ons.

    HIS ADD-ONS ISSUES

Pyramid Head has some really bland and weak add-ons for the killers, with his Very Rare and Ultra Rares being weaker than his Rare and uncommon add-ons. The add-ons I am going to point out are the egg add-ons, the books, and his Killer Instinct Add-ons, same with his UR add-ons

RUST-COLOURED EGG AND SCARLET EGG AND THE KILLER INSTINCT ADD-ONS

These two add-ons are incredibly weak.

Scarlet Egg increases the killer instinct that triggers when a survivor steps on your trails by 1.5 seconds, increasing the time to 4.5 seconds...however, this isn't really worth bringing over his other add-ons as his other's increase how long trails remain in the environment or how long you can use RoJ

Rust-Coloured Egg makes you blind for 60 seconds when stepping into RoJ trails....Blindness only affects auras and this is not worth using. "BuT sLugGiNg" NO....NONE OF THAT....SHAME ON YOU. This is only 60 seconds on the survivor who stepped onto the trail, so only they cannot see auras, meaning to get anything from this add-on for slugging EVERYONE WOULD NEED TO STEP IN A TRAIL, this is weak. "BuT hOoK-" same situation as slugging, except so much weaker as survivors get a sound notif when someone is hooked

His other killer instinct add-ons increase it by .5 seconds and 1 second....I am gonna use Legion as an example here

Legion benefits from Killer instinct as he is a multi-hit killer and sprints faster while in frenzy...Pyramid Head does not move any faster and infact moves slower in his torment mode and while activating RoJ (110% while using RoJ, 92% while activating RoJ)

    THE TWO BOOKS

These two are also quite weak

Crimson Ceremony Book: Injured survivors who are tormented suffer from Haemorrage status effect (Spelled that wrong for sure

Crimson Ceremony Book makes survivors bleed more...pretty sure nobody uses Sloppy Butcher for that status effect and have not seen many people use BloodHound since Legion's initial release before the rework.

Lost Memories Book: Stepping into a RoJ trail makes you oblivious for 15 seconds

Why tho? Pretty sure Pyramid Head is carrying a MASSIVE KNIFE and has a giant pyramid on his head

It could be better, but hey its better than Obsidian Goblet though

    HIS UR ADD-ONS

Oh man I was excited for these on his reveal...then they released

Obsidian goblet makes you undetectable while standing in your trail...Except you have to almost be moving directly in the middle of the trail or else you lose the effect and you have to also have a trail set up in the right way where you can step in it....this UR add-on isn't good

Seal of Metatron makes you reveal all tormented survivors auras for 6 seconds when you cage a survivor

This add-on is neat and I like it, but I honestly don't have an opinion for it

My assumption (and yes you should never make one) is that they rushed him and didn't bother to come up with any interesting add ons.

Just make them all a like and put up the labels slightly, moderately, etc on them.

Just so they could release him.

I was also very happy to see him coming to dbd and when i bought him and saw all his similar add ons I got disappointed really fast.

Yeah the green/yellow and brown add ons ar stronger than the higher rated add ons but still mostly crap non the less

It doesn't really work best though, because no one is afraid of a Wraith, a killer most easily looped to oblivion. Why would I heal against a killer I can so easily just loop? Even if he does catch me, he'll never be able to apply enough pressure or hook enough people faster than we can do generators.

Wraith should have a green windstorm for map pressure by default, just like trapper should have, at the very least, a brown bag by default. These killers are no where near strong enough to not justify such minor buffs. Maybe we would see more less common killers if we made changes like that.

Well I kinda disagree on you with that.

BUT... that is a wraith in good hands.

Ias I said I play wraith a lot and there is rarely a game where I depip on, most games I get at least a 3, but that's because I don't always slug for the fourth..

What I do have to say is, after a hit don't let them see you when you move away from them.

It keeps them on edge for a while.

At loops when you see them waiting, just pretend to fully uncloack and they drop the pallet.

His main weakness is the same with every other killer and that is a well coordinated swf on comms.

No matter how good you are with him, 9 out of 10 times they get the better of you.

  • @Jessbydaylight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1576360#Comment_1576360

Base Oni/Huntress are much stronger than him. Without windstorm he feels so terrible to play as while you could have no addons on huntress/Oni and still feel pretty good when using their power. I do pretty well with wraith my only problem is that i have to burn yellow/green addons almost every game.

This is my normal wraith build

Bbq, Pop,Corrupt and Nurses Yellow/green windstorm with Blind warrior.

Whenever i go addonless i feel like i am barely able to pressure anything and end up with 0 or 1 kill(barely safety pip).

Is there any better combo/build that you recommend?

I agree he needs (depanding on how good the survivors are ofcourse) add ons.

I actually don't use winstalker or blind warrior.

My add ons are swift hunt with all 's - blood--(ideal vs blendettes)

Or bone clapper with the 8 ball (it's a gray add on but don't know its real name)

Coxcombed clapper (silent bells) with the 8 ball or with the all seeing - blood -

Imo your perks aren't bad tbh, personally I'd swap corrupt with sloppy.

The perks are the same as mine.

It takes them more time healing and thus easier catching them off guard.

What I try to do as much as possible is to injure as many survivors as possible.

After that I start catching them of guard while they heal.

Unless they are at a weak loop or just simply out positioned i continue the chase and down them.

When i approache a gen I start using the environment to cover me as much as possible.

Not when I'm nearly there but I try to plan my routing far before that.

Otherwise they can see me coming from miles away.

And the basics which some killers but also survivors forget a lot.

If they are in a corner, like a 2 man gen, block them.

So you can easily uncloack and get a free hit.

Same with pallets, if you see them going for 1 (which makes wind storm good) try cutting them off and stand between the pallet so they can't drop it.

A lot are confused and takes them a few sec to realise it's not working and move away.

Careful not to stand to far back, but just at the beginning of the pallet.

    Otherwise the can drop it.

That's my playstyle in a nutshell with my perks and the add ons I use.

Btw a nice surprise, I sometimes switch sloppy or nurses for franklins.

Especially when the all bring items.

And they want them back sooner than later, especially with the new update.

So another way to catch them of guard.

Sometimes you can just stand still clocked at the item and they're back in no time.

They don't see you when clocked and standing still, no effect seen from your cloack like when your moving 😬

So I main Huntress/Oni on ps4 and have been playing DBD for around 2.5 years now. I can basically play all killers pretty well except billy/nurse/hag.

I recently dumped 2mil bloodpoints into wraith(0 to all perks) because i wanted to play something new. From my 50-60 games I've played with him he feels not on the level of Oni/Huntress or even remotely close(which is okay but the difference is quite massive). I think he's maybe the 4rd or 5th worst killer imo(def. better than legion-clown tho). Imo a killer can be average and still be fun to play(especially his power). With Wraith i feel like your power doesn't really do much other than supress your TR. He's barely faster and you barely even feel the difference.

I'd say yellow windstorm should be base at least. I dont think they should make him perform actions faster tho as that might be a little too strong. I find myself always wanting to use green/yellow windstorm almost every game.

Given that I'm not an "experienced" wraith player I'd like others opinions on it especially if you do play/go against wraith a lot.

    https://youtu.be/JO4GDM8NGKo

This is just 1 of many games with him.

    Maybe even my worst tho.

I play all killers as wel and wraith the most and do very well with him.

For me he's stronger than oni and huntress, but that is my experience.

Check this out and if you have any questions just ask and I will see if I can answer them

  • @claudetterealness said:

NOED is by far the worst perk in the game and any killer who uses it is just so bad, you shouldn't be able to win because you couldn't confirm a kill the whole match. Survivors shouldn't be punished for actually doing a good job and getting to end game - will it ever be removed or changed?

also any killer mains who reply to this defending NOED your comment is being overlooked I don't associate with negative vibes

TOO LATE the negative energy has entered the thread

Not sure if it has already been said tho.

Don't get me wrong on this okey?

If your team gets whipped out by noed, that is on you and your team.

Noed is easily countered by doing totems even as solo you can do it.

If you have a hard time finding totems you can run small game or use a map.

But i agree noed is a broken perk imo and should be reworked.

That's why i never used noed nor will I unless requested.

DS is also a broken perk.

Yes it has been reworked and is in a better state than what It was, but still broken.

Why should you as killer get punished for survivors messing up?

Yes when you get tunnelled I agree that is on the killer.

But I had a game where I had hooked 2 survivors and than came across another survivor who appeared the have been unhooked before the other 2 survivors.

And i still get punished with ds even though I allready hooked to others before I downed her.

To me personally I'd love to see both noed and ds being reworked into a more balanced and fair perk.

You need optimization and condensed assests and coding to bring it, up to par with crossplay. Especially when PC is the superior machine...

  • @sekkima said:

    - Until when do you start to lose fps due to heat (throttling)? (Especially the crap of the play4 with its lousy cooling system).

    - How often do you disassemble your console, clean the fans, change the thermal pastes?

I can give you the answer, you can easily have a 4-year-old console and never have done maintenance and later come complain to the forum.

I especially changed the thermal pastes (PC) 3 months ago and 2 days ago I cleaned the fans and the game is doing very well for me in performance, I can play at stable 240fps and it is not that my 300 usd graph is the wonder.

An easy console after a year begins to suffer from throttling, imagine someone with 3 years. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

The peak of your performance is until when your gpu decides not to burn out.

It has nothing to do with frame drops.

On console we don't get higher frames than 30 fps, that's where the devs capped it.

In 2018 they said they're going to optimise the consoles with an aim of 60fps.

Today 2020 we still haven't had any update regarding console optimization, nor did they ever released any info regarding that update after the announcement.

The thing what I meant which is visible, is like on pc it plays smoother also because of the higher frames, yet on console playing at 30fps you definitely notice the difference.

  • @ABannedCat said:

Dbd's graphics are neither particularly up to date, nor are the maps big, nor is there an exceptionally high amount of computations required for the gameflow (like explosions, destructable environment, entities with alot of possible internal states).

There is no other excuse than simple laziness and the problem being low priority.

But this all makes me wonder how this all will change with the upcoming graphics update. Unless the developers have developed a magic trick to improve optimisation, those new graphics will turn console gameplay into a powerpoint slideshow. And if the developers have a magic trick to fix performance, why are they not telling us?

I wouldn't go as far as saying it is lazynes as I don't know that much about programming.

But i do want (as does about everyone else), is to know why it isn't here yet.

And yes I do agree with the new graphics update.

Might that also be the optimisation patch for consoles?

But if there were trouble with the older version of the consoles (which I would find strange personally), what did they do differently to make it work this time?

Was it because it didn't work that it is still not implemented in the game or is it a different reason?

I would love to hear something from the devs or community managers about this tho.

I don't like to jump to conclusions fast, neither do I lime to be kept in the dark regarding a game I love so much

  • @FellowKillerMain said:

I think it's fair to have these concerns, considering you're buying a product that's advertised to work properly. But, one thing to keep in mind is that the current gen consoles are pretty old unless you have a pro version. The next gen consoles will reportedly enhance/improve gameplay of older games. At least that's what I'm hoping for.

That is why i said why not focus on the consoles who are able to run it instead of focusing on all consoles at once?

I do play on a ps4 pro indeed but but even a regular ps4 is capable of running 60 fps.

For example (totally different genre) gran turismo sport.

It runs at 60 fps on Pro as well as on the regular ps4.

And I'm very very confident that gran turismo sport asks far more from the console than dbd does.

So if they say it is not possible on ps4 than, i hate to say it, but then they're either be lying or are misinformed.

It just saddens me that they still haven't done anything with it and never kept us informed about the status regarding the subject.

We have played numerous matches, and I for one haven't noticed any real difference in the ranks of killers we get. Very inconsistent. The same way match making has been for months. Our ranks are 1, 8, 9, and 10 with 3+ years experience.

Well I've been playing a lot of matches since they dropped mmr on both sides.

    Honestly it is real garbage.

Sure it is fine to get a non sweaty ass swf group, but steamroling over ranks between 15 and 20 almost every game isn't fun at all.

And neither is it for them I'm sure of it.

Today as survivor was also a total mess.

Getting low ranks vs high rank killer or high ranks vs low rank killers.

It's no fun on either side.

Sure I'll take the chase if he want for how long he wants, but when the gens done I'm out, unlike a lot of other survivors who just want to bully the killer.

Exactly, I'm very curious about the system too.

Like I said, I play for the chases and not to escape.

Escaping is fine and all, but totally not necessary to pip.

But if mmr is based on that part for survivor, than I get to a point where it is no more fun for me as for the killer

  • @not_Queen @Peanits

So I've been wondering and I don't think the devs ever said anything about the subject, but do correct me if I'm wrong tho.

So how is the mmr calculated in the game?

For survivors, is it calculated by the amount of escapes you do, the overall scoring or the scoring per category?

Cause like I never play to escape I only make sure I pip and that's all.

I'm a survivor who always goes for the chases because I like that more that sitting on a gen the entire/most of the time.

For killer, is that based on the amount of sacrifices you do, by the overall scoring or per category?

I don't believe they ever mentioned how they calculate it, if they just use the current scoring/emblem system?

If they do than what is the point of the mmr if they use the same method as with the scoring/emblems?

I really love a clarification about how they calculate it, where the mmr is based off.
