What I mean is that totem spawns can be hilariously bad (looking at you hill totem) and we are getting counterforce soon in addition to a buffed small game and detective's hunch. I am currently contemplating whether it is even worth it to spend a million bp on hag to unlock ruin if the chances of it surviving longer than 2 minutes are slim. Just asking for your opinions.

Untill they really fixed those spawns and don't let survivors spawn close to a hex totem, then they can still be useful.

Tbh I don't see them gonna use small game or detective hunch a lot, sure when they just get buffed you will see them more but after that they disappear again just like they always did

Per the title. I'm asking this because I fired up DbD just now thinking 'I'll have some fun and mess around on Killer."

and as I looked through the roster.....I was immediately unable to settle on a single Killer who was unmitigated fun. All of them are miserable. All of them are so much work to play except Bubba that I closed DbD. This topic is not just to express my annoyance at what could and should be a very fun and unique experience; it's to genuinely ask: When do Killers get to have fun? I spent all night last night practicing Nurse and she's kinda fun, but it'll be hundreds of hours before I get good enough to not consistently get destroyed while playing her so really it's just work.

So: What Killer do you find 'fun'? What's fun about them?

    Spirit ofcourse.

She's the most fun killer to use against survivors because of all the moaning 😬

But for real I love to play wraith, been using him for years more than I have used other killers.

He's just fun to scare survivor, even before his buff.

Letting them thing they are save and then all of a sudden, BING Bong you're down and hooked 😂

Unless they explicitly said in chat that you were tunneled because of the charm, you have no basis to claim this.

Any sort of proof it was due to the charm and nothing else (like screenshots of them admitting it) would be essential not just for this thread but the reports you did.

If this was the real reason they done it then yeah that is just sad and pathetic and they need to get themselves a life.

I wouldn't bunch all wraith players together, as well thats just not the fact as you clearly see by some of the other posts within this thread.

I kinda have a feeling that this person (the op) was maybe t-bagging or something else to try and piss off the killer.

Than come here to cry about that the way the killer played was because of the pride charm.

But refusing to tell the whole story

  • @Jackthryn said:

I've played maybe eleven matches today, and in six of those matches, I played against wraiths. All six of them would tunnel me off hook, shake their head at me, and one of them stood on my body until I bleeded out. They did this to no one else, and yes, all six wraiths were different people.

I've reported all six of them and I'm 100% sure nothing will be done about it because that's how this game works.

I didn't know wraiths players were such scummy homophobes.

Oh, and I also had a pyramid head tunnel me the entire game for the same reason today. Hit me on hook, shook his head at me, and made sure I didn't escape the match.

Hey not all wraith players are like that.

I don't care to what genger you are attracted or what your genger is, neither do I care what charms you are using.

All I care for are multiple chases all over the map.

So don't say wraith players are like that, thank you very much 😉✌️

bro i do not understand this argument. you either think spirit has counterplay or you don't. how can you say i claim the entire fact she has no counterplay as MY idea. you can only believe 1 or 2. its not crazy that some people will in fact align their ideas. not everyone is a sheep, sheesh

What I mean is that there are to many sheep's nowadays and just jump on the bandwagon of their favourite content creator.

Sure there are still people who can at least think for themselves, but many will believe almost everything others say.

And i don't mean you personally as a content creator who stated she doesn't have counterplay, there are many more same as the opposite.

But it doesn't take away the fact many will believe everything you say.

Hell I wouldn't even be surprised if a content creator would say legion or plague for example are OP or doesn't have counterplay, and more than half of their fanbase/viewers/followers will jump on and say the same without actually trying to get to a conclusion of their own.

That is all I was trying to say and was not an attack to anyone personally.

And yes I believe she has counterplay.

    Did I follow the mass?

Nope, just by trying things for myself, and sure some things I've seen others too.

Again, it was nothing personal, it's just behaviour I noticed over the years.

Is Scott Jund a dbd overlord because whenever he has an opinion people always praise it as the right one instead of having their own.

The only issue with spirit is the standing still mind game, other than that she's fine.

Unfortunately there are to many sheep's in dbd.

Whenever their favourite content creator says something, then immediately they take that as the only thing that is correct.

They can't think for their own anymore and need others to tell them what to think.

Trying to finding things out themselves or form their own opinion is to much effort these days.

I'd love to see the day BBQ loses the BP gain or gets nerfed so killers would run the actually better tracking perks: Whispers, Discordance, Thrilling Tremors, Tinkerer, Nurse's Calling, Infectious Fright. All of these are way more consistent than BBQ.

To deal with BBQ you just eat the aura reveal. Simple as that. Most of the time as killer you shouldn't even be going for BBQ auras, as you are giving the survivors free time to unhook safely and reset the rest of the team. So let them come, especially if it's a slow MS killer. Why do you think it's a perk that you never see in tournaments?

Tbh whispers is pretty bad, the only killer it is good on is Doctor.

Whispers light up, bam use static blast.

But on other killers it is pretty useless as it has a 32m radius and you'll spend a lot of time searching for a survivor.

Should that person have urban or that Nancy perk where you walk faster, then you're gonna have a hard time finding them quickly.

It seems you have trouble using your eyes and maybe your brain also? I already replied to you and gave you a thorough response, I'll repost it for you in case you missed it.

"There is an objective reason for the deep wounds black screen being considered bad gameplay and it's as follows: Going down because you can't see the screen is non interactive. Plain and simple, non interactiveness is bad in pvp games, it's the reason Spirit is the most hated killer in the game even though Nurse is stronger, it's because it's non interactive. The devs don't play their own game above rank 10 so here we are, doesn't mean it's good doesn't mean it shouldn't be improved."

Oh don't worry I have read it.

Tho for you that is your opinion and as you said to me, not a valid one.

It's not really a well build argument and just a personal preference, nothing more nothing less.

But even tho we are in a discussion section, even though you think not, I'm gonna let it rest here because there is no reasoning with you.

Because as you make it show, whether intentionally or not, what you think is the only thing that matter and is the only thing that is right.

There is no reason of having a discussion with someone who isn't open to see other reasons but their own.

So i wish you the best of luck in the future ✌️

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

I’m really tired of this perk.

The only reason it was originally implemented was because it was clear how strong Bubba’s power works for hook camping, so let’s give him a more attractive incentive to leave it.

The whole “but BBQ prevents hook camping” is moot at best. The very idea that we would see more hook camping without BBQ is laughable. A killer is either going to camp, or they won’t. Let the idiots hurt their rank and BP gains. It’s irritating how little skill investment killers need to put into hunting/tracking because of a popular perk like BBQ.

It’s lazy. And it can be very frustrating as a survivor, very often, even when attempting to do the right things against BBQ.

Than you probably don't mind to put the survivors aura reading perks as a build in power for the according survivor from who the perk is? 🤔

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/254351/okay-just-to-clarify-is-early-match-slugging-banable-or-not

Told ya same thing every time this is part the reason I'm not playing as much as I used to killers get away with too much and if a survivor even thinks about walking past the last gen they're holding games hostage NVM if the killer is camping the gens and only running after the survivors a small distance away. If we refuse to play to his rules we're in the wrong.

My advice find a new game to play while you wait out your DC or if you're on PC just open a new window and watch YouTube while they slug. Can't believe people think balance comes with perks honestly balance comes when killers can get reported for the same things survivors can.

Survivors will only be blamed if they actually refuse to do the last gen and just hide.

For example what I had a while back.

1 gen left and 2 survivors alive, how long do you think it took me to find them?

    15 freaking minutes.

I went passed the gens and none of them were touched, went all around the map but they were nowhere to be found.

Turned out that they were hiding in lockers the entire time.

That is considered keeping the game hostage.

When a killer is "patrolling" the gens (not camping), means you guys messed up and didn't split up the gens.

If you keep 2 gens in a corner each then the killer can't do jack shite.

He has to cross the map to get from 1 gen to another, meaning 1 of the 2 survivors is gonna get a gen done.

And especially when there are more than 2 survivors left.

Even when 3 genned and 3 or 4 survivors left, he can't win because the gen will go anyway.

The repair is faster that the regression

If you don't care about what other people have to say if it doesn't agree with you, you don't want a discussion.

The whole point of a forum is to discuss ideas, thoughts and opinions.

So, if you don't have any interest in having a friendly discussion, kindly don't make a thread at all.

I think he doesn't want a discussion or anything tbh, I think he's just in here to pick fights with who ever disagrees with him.

All he says that when you disagree that you're wrong and you're points are not valid.

But doesn't come with some good points why he thinks that it is bad.

So no point to have a discussion with him I think

There's some problems with what you just wrote. First of all opinions are like a$$holes, everyone's got one some are cleaner than others. Plenty of dumb opinions, here's the definition of the word valid:

Valid: (of an argument or point) having a sound basis in logic or fact; reasonable or cogent.

Secondly, the only thing deep wounds is "meant" to do is force a time sink, you can try to justify the black screen but at the end of the day it's bad gameplay, you shouldn't lose a chase because you literally can't see your screen.

Then explain me why you are not supposed to lose a chase because the screen gets darker?

You can still see enough to let a chase last long.

You don't give me any reason why you should not lose a chase because of that.

I gave you my reasoning why I think it is fine as it is but the only reason you gave is "it's bad gameplay"

Your life is dripping away as you lose a lot of blood, which will mess with your vision.

I know you find that bad gameplay but no actual reason of why you think it is.

I play dbd on ps4/5 and have bad eyesight (yes I'm a 4 eyes 😉) and I have no problem keeping track of the killer.

The only thing that actually fade/disappears, is the red stain from the killer.

But then again, there are perks and killers who do the same thing.

But you can still track the killer pretty well.

  • @Mr_Slick546 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2233671#Comment_2233671

But do you actually think going down because you can't see the screen is good gameplay? I don't think that's a valid opinion, so agreeing to disagree doesn't work for me on this one.

An opinion is still an opinion so it is still valid.

But an argument someone make about something you can find it not valid.

But about the screen getting darker.

It was never designed for you to last long when you're critically injured, hence the "deep wound"

It is created to buy you some time to get away, but while in chase to waste time of the killer.

If you can see clearly the entire time than the meaning deep wound would be useless and should be named 3rd health state.

So yeah i agree that it can be annoying to some as they want to be able to loop the killer the entire time while in deep wound.

But it is good gameplay as deep wound gives you an chance to escape rather than instantly downed while unhooked for example.

And if the killer chooses to chase you that that is bad gameplay from him.

They just try to make it look like your life dripping away and you eventually get caught, just like many horror movies where someone tries to escape a killer while being badly injured, they go down eventually.

And tbh i rarely go down because i can't see shite, the killer will leave me most of the times.

And when they don't i make sure I wast as much time as possible as it was attended to do.

Why do people who only play 1 side in an asymmetrical game think they have the right to talk about balance, very strange. Once again the killer can chase someone in deep wounds and eventually you can't see the screen anymore, you can rationalize it any way you want but at the end of the day it's just bad gameplay.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know we know each other?

Or at least I don't know you but apparently you know me as you are very sure I play only 1 side appearantly.

Just to get the record straith mister/misses, never assume that you know someone and what that person plays, makes you look dumb.

I play both sides and not just one side as you assume, I love a bit of variation.

You might find deep wound bad gameplay, but it is not designed for just keep doing normal stuff which you do without.

Yes the killer can still chase you and the screen gets darker the longer it takes, but you can still see.

If you keep him busy than that is good and bad on him.

But when you go down than that was bound to happen.

I have looped killers for a few minutes with a very dark screen so I know how it is like, and I have no problem going down because end of it all, you wasted his time while the rest was busy.

You call it bad and I call it good as I don't see any issues with it.

The only thing we agree on is that we disagree with each other

  • @AVoiceOfReason said:

Darkness is just nothing more than a hindrance to screw you over in a chase when you can't stop being chased already against certain killers. Its an annoying mechanic that blinds you almost due to the darkening of the new maps, making it hard to see where you're going. Hell, I've ran back into the killer a few times because it was so dark and I have problems with my eyesight in the dark. Im legally night blind and this just makes it bullshit.

Than just turn on a light when you're night blind 😜

But for real, it is meant for you to be slowed down. It makes no sense for you to keep going on for ever with a "deep wound".

  • @piggygooik said:

his rework did help him but not by much. all it did was make him a slightly better chaser. some people don't even use his yellow bottles and they do fine. the yellow bottles are good in concept but don't really do much.

I hope they buff him again or maybe even rework him

give me your thoughts on him

Honestly make two amounts for each bottle type, so 4 yellow and 4 pink.

So if you throw yellow to cross the map after you hooked someone, you still have 4 pinks left.

Right now if you use yellow bottles to do that, then by the time you are at the next survivor across the map.

You have mostly 1 bottle left, 2 when lucky, and then you need to make a choice.

Do I reload which means the survivor can create a big distance between you and him, or do I just go chase him and hope I can get him before he throws a pallet down and gets a big distance?

  • @Mr_Slick546 said:

I've always found it annoying that you can barely see in deep wounds state, I've heard other people mention this and thought I'd make a post about it. Are there any contrarians that would like to tell me that barely being able to see your screen is actually really cool and great for gameplay? Lets see.

Personally i have no problem with it.

It is meant to slow you down and to be threatened.

If you pay attention you can still see enough to keep looping the killer.

It's just not meant for you to keep doing that the whole time, otherwise deep wound doesn't make sense.

Basically you have as the name suggests a deep wound, and if not treated your energy or life slips away.

It honestly takes some time before it gets really dark and you can barely see anything, which means that you have wasted a significant amount of time from the killer already.

So yeah, I have no problem with it and it can stay as it is.

  • @musstang62 said:

I think you can do this by just getting survivors to full infection 6 times. So that will require you to infect all 4, have at least 2 cleanse, and then re-infect those 2. Might want to bring thanatophobia if you have it, since that will encourage cleansing

Personally i would bring blood echo on her.

Almost every survivor is running a exhaustion perk and the my always really want to keep it.

So it will force them to cleanse to be not injured when a survivor is being hooked😉

So I recently had a game that didn't go so well because I was trying to have a sweatless game with Trickster running haunted ground/undying. But because RNGesus hates my guts I got 4 Neas with flashlights who T-bagged throughout the entire game.

To most people, the usual refrain is to be the "better man" and just play normal, regardless of how much you want to bring in the stridor/NOED Spirit. But what does that achieve? They're still going to be toxic, and they're still going to be making profoundly un-fun games for other killers. The goal of this is to not perpetuate the problem, but is standing by and doing nothing going to stop the perpetuation of these problems?

Now, if you go ahead and pick up the tunneling stridor/NOED Spirit, sure, you become part of the problem, but counterintuitively, you may be helping to solve the problem. In the short run, people are going to get tilted and the toxicity is going to rise, but people can only be angry for so long before they tire out and seek a resolution. People will get sick and tired of sweating 24/7 and try to reach a mutual agreement. Even better, the rise in less-than-fun gameplay catches the eyes of the devs and they take action to stop the behavior.

And that's my defense of playing facecamping Bubba every Friday, thanks for listening. It's not fun for me or the survivors but damn, it's cathartic.

Sometimes you have those games unfortunately.

I have had games to where I went for a bit more relaxed game, but every time I tried that the match goes a different way.

Not long ago I faced a 4 man swf on the spirit map where I was going for such relaxed match.

Unfortunately they decided otherwise and popped 4 gens in about 3 minutes (more or less)

So i was like F this I'm going into the basement in a corner and get myself a snack and something to drink cause this game is over.

Did some other things as well and somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes past, to my surprise the game did not yet ended for some reason.

Looked behind me and there were 3 of them t bagging me.

Hit 2 of them hoping they finish and get out.

But nope couple of minutes passes again and here they are again t bagging behind me.

At that moment I had enough en gave them what they wanted and went full try hard on them.

And only then they quickly finished the last gen, but at that point it was over for them already.

Downed 3 of them and the 4th picked 2 back up, and eventually they all were down.

So i went back to my dring and snacks and now let them wait for the match to end.

I never played like that and never did it again, but at that moment it felt good to see them lying over there unable to do anything.

But hey, they had about 10 minutes to complete the last gen and get out but they refused.

The only issue I have with this is your going for the deterant rather than the incentive.

My advice would be that if you hook someone freshly you get 1% speed boost (cooldown of X amount of time), cap at 7-10% (numbers may vary).

Something that gives a killer a reason to not camp/tunnel.

Maybe add a slight deterant (not a huge one) on top of this.

    .

Also, in contrast. That should mean that killers should get extra bp and pip for killing everyone quickly (outside of these tactics) as they shouldn't get punished for both doing their job well but "fairly" (I'm putting this in brackets as I personally couldn't give a ######### about tunneling or camping, but I know some do).

Was only 1 of the possible ways.

I'm pretty sure there are many different ways to tackle this issue.

The problem is that it doesn't look like the devs want to tackle it.

I have the same as you, if they want to tunnel me, by all means go ahead I'll be having a great time that's for sure.

    They want to camp me?

Go ahead, I'll be hanging there making sure he doesn't get a reason to do it to 1 of the other 3 and after that I'll be going to the next match.

    It is what it is

  • The best way to discourage facecamping, is something Tru3 said some time ago.

I don't know exactly how he said it but it was somewhere around these lines.

"reward the killer more when he hooks different survivors aka fresh hooks.

If the killer goes for the unhooked person then give him less points, or maybe no points for that hook at all"

Again I can't remember his exact words, but it was something like that.

And personally I would look at the time it took for you to get hooked as survivor.

Like did you get found and downed by the killer withing say maybe 2 minutes or something and you die on you first hook because the killer is facecamping you?

    Than safe pip

Do you run the killer for say 5 gens or longer than a X amount of time, then be judged accordingly to what you have done before and during that time.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2224920#Comment_2224920

As mentioned in my other reply to someone else, I understand there are other problems such as killers de-pipping for doing their literal objective too fast. Both sides need fixing regarding issues like this.

I can assure you that I almost always de-pip when I run the killer around all game considering I didn't fulfill any of the other categories. It shouldn't even matter if I ran the killer for 5 gens because even if it was 1, it's still a problem.

Oh I absolutely agree with you that the pip system is not a good way anymore these days.

But i have run multiple killers for the entire match and never touched a gen or anything and still pipped or safety pipped.

Whenever you are in chase and the other 3 survivors do gens and cleanse totems, than you get points for that too, as long as you're in a chase.

When you are out of a chase or just walk around the map, you won't get any points from you fellow survivors.

This is all in red ranks btw, but ye the pip system is pretty outdated and need a fresh look at.

Especially now with all the possible different scenarios.

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2224840#Comment_2224840

It doesn't matter if I loop the killer for 5 gens, I will still de-pip. Killers don't have someone constantly holding them back from playing the game and almost always will safety pip every game even if all 4 survivors escape. There's a difference.

And I do agree on gen speeds being wack. I hate playing killer because of it.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that when you run the killer for 5 gens, you will not depip mate.

Been there done that, have ran killers for 5 gens and died on my 1st or 2nd hook and still safety pipped or pipped.

Killers will only safety pip when all survivor escape if they have enough hooks.

If you have less then 9 hooks as killer than you will depip.

If you kill or insta down every survivor you will depip, and on rare occasions you safety pip.

    😉

Considering how good wraith is right now and this add on gives no negatives like scratched mirror Myers and Amanda’s letter piggy, I don’t think it should be this strong with zero drawbacks. You can’t even play immersed if you’re bad at looping when he can just walk around the map at Mach speed and easily find survivors trying to hide. You can use it at a survivor camping a pallet and you’ll be at a huge advantage since you can read their every move. Anyone else feel the same?

It only is effective from 12m or closer.

So it definitely has a drawback compared to the 32m from scratch mirror.

You see wraith from 20m and closer so you have plenty of time to react and take action.

He still needs to uncloak, so if you aren't able to get to a pallet by then, than that is on you.

It's a known fact that survivors can consistently beat every Killer EXCEPT Nurse by just doing the gens. What is the uproar about? Wraith can still only chase 1 survivor at a time.

I think it has to do because when playing survivor, your hands will be held all the time over the years.

Which, i believe, has created a lot of toxicity over the years.

And they are trying to get rid of that more and more.

And survivors now have to but a little effort during the matches, not much but just a tiny bit more.

And many don't like that, so they just starting to cry about every little thing hoping the devs will revert things back (which they likely will)

Huh no I'm saying as a way to prevent people from abusing it I've played against some wraiths at low loops that just abused the speed every time they missed and left you with almost no time to try and gat to a nearby loop

So how did you do this with old wraith where he ran windstorm add on? 🤔

  • @onemind said:

Because if you are playing him like a hit and run you wouldn't be uncloak every 2s and then you could change swift hunt to reduce the cooldown its 3s to uncloak so If your using him wrong he's gonna feel clunky now I there is sometimes where you cloak and theres a surivor next to you you could use you speed to block them during the cooldown

Btw its 3s uncloak without swift hunt

And it's only when he cloaks he still plays the same when he uncloaks

As someone who played wraith a stupid amount of time, I'm very sure it is 3s with swift hunt.

But ok, give him a cooldown and do the same for the survivors.

They still play the same as before the stopped a progression action.

Apparently not everyone plays him as a hit and run, but there comes the survivor perspective in play.

If you know he's not playing like that then you adapt your playstyle.

There are matches when i play killer where i find it unfun the way a survivor team is playing and vice versa.

But I'm not on the forums or messaging them that the way they play is unfun or unfair.

Everyone has their own playstyle and you can't force someone to play differently with cooldowns just because you don't like that playstyle.

It's all a matter of adapting to how the match goes and how a certain person plays.

Well no, I never said either of them were fine. I think that the exhaustion add-ons should be removed (which they have), and mindbreaker and blood echo are already jokes.

The special thing about hex perks is that they're already based on RNG. You'll have exhaustion perks the entire game, but hex perks can be cleansed and removed. You're supposed to bank on luck, but small game throws RNGesus out of the window and flips you the bird.

I kinda disagree a little bit about blood echo.

Yes that perk is a joke, but run it on plague and you force the survivors to give them your powers.

Because they want to keep their exhaustion perk active😉

Again, those spawns are randomized. It's a waste of time to have to check every single individual possible totem spawn to ensure that bones have spawned there, and if they have, to do them. Running around the map, looking in very nook and cranny isn't peak efficiency.

Don't get me wrong here mate, but when you play survivor you have a Shtload of time to do other stuff.

Besides why are survivor ls crying so much to have more stuff to do other than gens, but cleansing 5 totems is to much?

Can you people just make up your minds?

I mean either accept the option to have more to do no matter what it is or just stop crying about having more to do.

Also those "randomized" totems are only a few times they spawn in a different place.

If you still don't know where to look for them than it will never gonna work.

You got your totem counter as you requested even though it was very unnecessary, so either use it or don't.

But complaining about a end game perk where you literally have the entire game for to find it, is just stupid.

He's just not brain dead loopable anymore and they're losing their minds. With all this crying, I expect Wraith to be NERFED next year. I know it.

Look at Billy and look at Freddy... AGAIN!

They better not touch my bing bong boi 😡

Unless they are gonna buff him more 😬😜

But seriously, this is how it always goes and will keep going.

    BHVR create a strong killer.

Survivors: 😭😭😭😫😫😫 this killer is to strong and not fun, please nerf.

BHVR buffs a killer where that killer becomes more of a treat and where you need to respect their powers.

Survivors: 😭😭😭😫😫😫 this killer isn't fun anymore, he's to strong now. Please nerf.

The vicious circle of dbd, bhvr create/buff a killer > survivors cry about that killer > bhvr nerf that killer.

And after that the process just repeats itself with new and the same killer over and over again.

  • @onemind said:

No a slight delay after cloaking where he cant start the uncloak animation

😂 What sense does that make?

When he clocks, he can't hit you.

When he uncloak he can't attack until he's fully uncloacked, which takes what, 3 or 4 seconds?

And that is with swift hunt.

Which means he waste time by cloacking and then uncloacking again, which costs time on his side.

If you still go down after that than you were going anyway or you let your routing be dictated by him instead of following your own routing.

But if we are going to ad a little delay when he clocks and uncloak, why not giving the survivors a cool down with any actions when they stop and want to continue it again.

Like for example you heal someone and you or that person got spooked but realise that there is no-one there.

Then you can't heal or do any other progression for a x amount of time

Wraith has been one of the worst killers in the game for years and now that the devs have made him viable, he’s already getting complaints. Let me just say that he has literally the same play style as he used to except he’s actually good.

I’ve played against many Wraiths ever since his buff and still don’t have any problems when facing him. In fact, I find him even more fun to go against than before because there is a skill in being attentive and looking out for his shimmer and the noises he makes as there is much more of that in games due to his incredible movement speed. He also negates holding W which is a brain dead yet effective strategy for survivors. The long lunge that he has when coming out of cloak offers unique mind games for both sides to outplay the other, which is very fun. It’s equal opportunity for both sides which is something a killer like Spirit doesn’t have.

With that being said, I think the devs did a great job with Wraith and I’m of the opinion he’s in a great and healthy spot. If you find buffed Wraith unfun to play against, then that is totally fine as I’m not trying to change your mind or make you feel bad. Just remember that Wraith before his buff was a very weak, add on reliant killer but now that he’s good, it just doesn’t seem right that he’s already getting complaints when he’s the same killer from before except much better.

Come on wraith was never weak, many just didn't know how to play him.

I never ran windstorm ever and almost all of my games were 3 or 4k as rank 1.

I got messages saying they had little change and I was always on top of them.

Others then again reported me of hacking because they didn't win 🤷‍♂️

If you knew how to play him before his buff than you could do so serious damage, even against some very strong and well coordinated swf.

But yeah people always find something to complain about, especially when they make a killer or buff one to become more viable.

Then all of a sudden it is unfun or OP

  • The last time I ran small game was when I just started playing the game.

Eventually you learn where all the totem spawns are and you don't need small game anymore.

Even the new totem spawns are easy to remember.

As a long time forever solo, I always find the time to look at all the spawn points.

And if I find 1 I break them, do I see a broken 1 I just remember it.

I always count how many totems are broken down, no matter if it was by my hands or a fellow survivor.

It not that hard to count to 5 (for me at least, but not higher tho 😬), that's why i never understood why people wanted a totem counter so badly.

Cause it's not that hard to do 5 totems imo 🤷‍♂️

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

A lot of people have been hailing small game as the counter to NOED. And it's true, it is a decent counter. But is it really the best idea to have one perk in order to deal with the threat of another perk? Wouldn't it be much better if said perk in need of a counter was made so that it wouldn't need a counter, especially when that counter takes the spot of one precious perk slot out of four? Plus, that's not to mention that small game counters most other hexes (leave my goddamn huntress lullaby ALONE).

Nah the best counter to NOED is just doing bones.

I play solo and rarely got NOED up att he end even though the killer is running NOED.

You can most of the time easily tell whether a killer is running NOED or not.

They usually only focus on 1 survivor at the time and spending a stupid amount of time to get that survivor down.

When you realise that, just search the spots for totems and you'll be fine.

But yeah i do agree, even though it is a end game perk.

It is a unhealthy perk for the game imo.

It grants you as killer downs or even kills that you don't deserve.

He wasn't magically strong before his buff. If you're going to post and argue against survivors can you refer to the buffs and the number changes?

He got an extra quarter second of 150% movespeed. That equates to an extra 1.5 metres of distance he can sprint out of cloak. That is huge at every short loop in the game. He can uncloak at an unsafe pallet/window and he's guaranteed a hit now. It's not about making the correct read anymore, it's about committing to the uncloack at the correct time. There is no cooldown to this mate so you get Wraith's spamming this now. It wasn't done before because he couldn't make the distance in time the survivor vaults the dropped pallet or vaults the window.

This is part of what OP is complaining about and it makes complete sense. Classic killer main vibes from you. Note how vague 'easily loop and toy' sounds like. Stop being vague. Please. PS. Please format your posts instead of hitting enter after each sentence.

Why would I want to talk about numbers?

I just said he was allready strong when played right, something many didn't know how too.

Now that he got a few slight buffs, which you think of as huge buffs, people can't bully him as easily anymore.

That is the main complaining about him here, even though many try to paint it of as if he's "unfun" to go against.

Now that people need to plan their routing and think about how to play, all of a sudden it's not fun anymore 🤔

Btw it is good that you get those vibes but i really, really have to disappoint you as I play both sides and don't main 1 side over the other.

    👋👋👋

  • @hiken said:

are we really complaining about a weak killer? he is decent now for once, what do you want?.

He always was strong when played right.

The problem was that not many could or did play him effectively.

So he was easy to toy with when he was chasing you.

The only time he wasn't easy to toy with was when he was played right and effectively.

Now that he got some slight buffs, he's not that easy to toy with and thus people start complaining about him.

It's something that most people showed me here on the forums, is that they want killers that they can easily loop and toy with.

As soon as they release a killer that doesn't allow that or they buff a killer, they start crying about it.

  • I never thought this day would come that people start complaining about my bing bong boi wraith, but here they come 🤣🤣

He was very strong before the buff if you knew how to play him, never has he been a weak killer only underrated.

Im not having difficulty with wraith why is everyone trying to educate me on stuff.

All im saying is that i dont see a reason to remove bloodlust, like some people say because it can HELP in some situations, i never said it was NECESSARY

    Theres a difference

Don't worry I don't try to educate anyone on something.

I was talking more in general and not to you personally as I don't know how you play.

I meant it more as in if people have trouble as wraith.

As for bloodlust, I said the same thing.

The only type of bloodlust they can remove is 2 and 3.

    They can keep bloodlust 1.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2204042#Comment_2204042

What about killers who dont have a power for chase? Legion, pig, wraith?

Without bloodlust the chase would never end against a good survivor, even tho a killer shouldnt over commit to a chase like this, bloodlust is fine i think.

I beg the differ about wraith.

If you have problems playing as wraith than it's most likely you have to adjust your playstyle and you will notice that he can pull of more than people think.

I play as wraith a lot and also played the day they put of bloodlust and still pulled of a 3 or 4k almost every game.

Now I'm not saying they should remove bloodlust.

Getting rid off bloodlust will force more people to play survivor, and a rework of 1 of the killer perks I believe beast of pray it's called.

What they should do is get rid of bloodlust 2 and 3 but keep level 1 bloodlust.

If you get into bloodlust level 2 or even in 3 than you've been spending way to much time chasing that survivor.

As wraith you can block of pallets or windows during a chase and forcing the survivors into a different direction.

Same can be done with legion, frenzy in front of them and block them forcing them into a different direction.

Unfortunately I do listen to the opinions of others, and respect them all.

But that's what they are, opinions.

And that is exactly what I give too, my opinion.

And as far as I know, we are still allowed to have opinions 🤔

  • @youngjun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2201298#Comment_2201298

Well, I respect your opinion but don't assume about me just by your own head please. It is very rude.

As I said, I brought example streamer because he won many leagues and he is actually TOP player. Because I thought my opinion could be too personal, I showed this example. I don't know why you understand this as "He is god, So I follow him! He is majesty !". Again, The streamer thought Nurse has been broken, so he played so many times to show it and it was meaningful. And I played her many time and I thought he could be right. At that time, many people argued about it and it came Nurse's some change but it was not enough actually.

Maybe it could make you think I've never played as killer, but I told you in comment "I play as killer main".

And, I played nurse very much in red rank. As I told you, I played killer main. But I could always slaughter survivor even though they were all red rank. It was too easy and boring. So I suggested this post. Now, nurse is boring powerful character and for new user, she is too hard to play and too strong to new survivor players.

Of course I understand somebody tell Nurse is not OP and else. I also think very little change can make it reasonable.

But you forgot my post and just are talking what you think only without reading post.

Please look the end of this post and my reply. It's not matter of buff or Nerf but design of character and it is not good for this game's future balance as well.

    Please focus on main subject.

Where did I said he was a god killer?

Where did I say you followed him because of that?

Where did I say you don't play killer?

I never said either of those things, I just talked in general.

I already gave you my thought on nurse and she doesn't need a change as I said before.

Yes she is strong against new players, that I agree on with you.

But then again, what killer isn't strong against new players?

For new players all killers are strong or as most will think in those ranks, that they are OP.

That is because they are still figuring out how the game works and have to learn all the basics.

Once you get to red ranks than killers will become very easy to counter/juke.

Byltw I don't mean you personally, but just in general, before we get some misconceptions.

But again to be clear about the subject, I don't think she need a change.

    She's fine where she is.

Slight note and this is my opinion, but leagues and tournaments in dbd are a joke as there are to many rng variables.

Once again, my opinion nothing more

  • @youngjun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2198947#Comment_2198947

Thank you for feedback to my post.

But first of all, you need to know something.

The reason why I showed other player like streamer is they are more representative than my play. I'm killer main but I thought it can be too personal idea. So I refer other TOP player.

And also, 3% survive rate is not normal. The player I showed you played a lot of character (He is official fog of whisperer appointed by BHVR)

But 3% rate didn't happened in other killer.

Before that, He started this experiment because he also thought nurse has problem. You need to know that. So, If he played other killer, result would be different.

And most of all, I pointed "Hard to play" doesn't mean "It has to be strong".

As I said, in TOP killer players, Nurse and spirit with specific add-ons setting are considered as OP not the strong.

Most of that players don't play them because it's too boring.

But I think just nerf is not the solution. So my message is that Dev need to find other way to catch "tricky play style" and "User friendly power".

    No problem 👍

But I'm not sure what killer that streamer plays a lot, but the more you play a certain killer the better you get to understand his/her strength and weaknesses.

And once you know that you get stronger with that killer.

I bet if he spent the same amount of time in a different killer, then he would be most likely have the 3% rate that I'm very positive about.

Than you have (at least here in the EU) the time of day you play.

At a certain time you go against more chill survivors, while at a different time you mostly go against sweaty survivors.

There are multiple factors in play why he got to that percentage to be fair.

Also being a fog whisperer doesn't mean much tbh.

Even you and I can become a fog whisper, something the devs said themselves.

All it gives you are shards (on that i might be wrong), auric cells so you can promote outfits easier.

Chapter codes, bp codes, charm codes, etc. To give away to people who watch your stream.

They don't care how good or bad you are or what your playstyle is.

Hell I even watch 3 games from a fog whisperer and all 3 games went the exact same way.

Found a survivor, downed the survivor, hook that survivor and then literally went facecamping.

1st match I thought it was because maybe that survivor did something toxic or something.

But all 3 games went like that.

So yeah being a fog whisper doesn't mean much other than that you promote their game and get paid a little in auric cells.

About add ons, there are no real OP add ons.

Even iri heads I personally don't consider being OP.

She still needs to hit you with it and when she misses, she has nothing.

Even when I play my all seeing wraith the say that add on is OP because I can see the aura's of the survivor.

Even though I have to be at least 12m away from them before I can see them and have to be clocked.

Even in spirit and nurse add ons are not OP but only very strong.

But i can understand that when people have some trouble playing against a certain killer, that they will say that the killer is OP or their add ons are OP.

While in fact it's just a matter of adapting to it.

When i play survivor I always try to look at signs to what perks and add ons a killers is using and adjust my playstyle accordingly.

I don't think most people don't play strong killers because they find them boring but rather that they have little room of learning a killer well in high ranks.

If you never played nurse in red ranks and you want to learn her than you get dominated by the survivors rather than that you dominate them.

Many will say "aaah I don't play her because it's not fair or not fun for the survivors" while in fact it's "I don't play her because I don't get a chance to learn her because the gens fly and it's a 3 or 4 man escape almost every match".

That's all that there is to it tbh

“In other words, they want all killers have the same way of looping with basically the same counterplays.”

If that was the case I wouldn’t like hag, trapper, PH, slinger, huntress, doctor and plague. They all have different ways of looping but still follow the core mechanics of DBD

Spirit doesn’t follow these mechanics because she can’t be seen by survivors and has no tells on what she is doing

Nurse doesn’t follow these fundamentals because she just ignores the game.

Nurse was designed around old dbd. This was a time when we had old BNP’s insta heals, double pallets and infinites.

Problem is nurse main mechanics haven’t changed to compensate

That's why i said "basically the same way of looping and counterplays"

The problem is that you want to be able to know exactly know what the killer does so you can react to it at that moment In time, you don't want to think multiple steps ahead.

You proven that with the points you made with spirit and nurse.

When i get chased by any killer I already have multiple routings planned out depanding on the action from the killer.

You can't see spirit when she's phasing, but you can still mess with her in so many ways.

Just because you can't see her, it makes her OP.

Remember that she can't see you either and has to go off by sounds.

And if you pay a little bit attention than you will know you can manipulate sounds as survivor.

And guess what, suddenly you are in her had and she questions every action that she does.

Same with nurse there are so much more ways to go against her and survive.

As long as you stay unpredictable and done follow in routine.

Hell nurse even has a cool down and slow down after every 2nd blink or 1st blink if she doesn't continue it.

She's also the slowest killer in the game when she doesn't use her powers, which is hard for her to use when you block line of sights.

Just don't blindly follow the mass, do your own testing and see what works and if what other tell do work.

So what if you don't survive?

Trust me, the game is way more fun like that if you don't play to survive.

I never play to survive and would even sacrifice myself to get others out.

I rather go for chases than go for gens (not that I don't do gens), which is probably the reason I manage to survive a lot against spirit and nurse.

some people don't want to play OP as hell characters, myself included. i'm playing trapper atm specifically because i don't have fun when i just dick on people all game with no chance of them doing anything except finding the hatch. the existence of people who play other characters has nothing to do with balance and i am so, so tired of people assuming that everyone else thinks winning is everything. some of us just like to play fair.

I play every single killer, no matter how strong they are.

Again, there are no OP killers in this game.

If there were than there was a 0 escape rate against them.

About being fair, everyone have their own belief that the way they play is fair while others find that way they play very unfair.

Yes some people like to win, same goes for me.

But i play and depanding on the team I go against I either go fast and give them little chance or try to go slow on them.

The problem with playing killer (at least in red ranks), is it's hard to judge the team you go against.

By the time you know the team is really weak, the game is basically over.

You think from the start the team is weak and go slow on them.

hey surprise now you are on your back foot as the gens were popping all over the place.

If i realise that the ream I go against is weak and it's pretty much over, than I give the last survivor the hatch, same when 1 dc.

And slugging I don't do as I find that boring as hell

I’ve won as clown on haddonfield. Does that make haddonfield fair?

You can’t be unpredictable against a spirit if she can literally hear your injured grunts. Nurse has more wiggle room but once the nurse is very proficient problems do arise

Did you hear me complain about maps or killers? 😉

I never talked about a map being fair or unfair, we're talking about nurse after all and not about maps.

Again I still have agree to disagree with you.

The problem what many people want, many show it in this treat again, is they want killers they can see, killers that can't go through objects.

In other words, they want all killers have the same way of looping with basically the same counterplays.

    Why?

Probably because they don't want to learn new ways to play against a spirit.

Just put your mind off and do the same thing every single match, day after day.

It doesn't surprise me that they keep on calling for more or new things to do as survivor.

And when they get their prayers heard, they are calling for a nerf because it's seemingly being to OP like with spirit and hex:undying.

Every killer has counters and none of the killers are OP.

Some just need a different approach when it comes to looping/juking.

And yes that includes spirit and nurse.

Btw spirit has more counters than people will admit, they just follow the mass because they find it harder and have to work for survival.

If spirit was so strong and you can't be unpredictable, than I should never been able to escape against her as I never run iron will.

    Never had and never will.

But sure believe that spirit and nurse are OP killers that are unhealthy for the game.

I rather go against those 2 than against others, for me an escape is more satisfying.

Difference is a good survivor can loop a good wraith. Same does not apply to nurse

Yeah well I have to agree to disagree with you.

Yes you can't loop her like a regular killer, that much is true.

Hence why many people hate to go against spirit and nurse, because they work differently.

But you can juke a nurse very well.

Stay unpredictable and don't treat her like a normal killer.

    She blinks?

    Run back.

Next time pretend to run back but immediately continue back where you were going when she blinks.

Use walls, trees, or anything that block the line of sight.

She have to guess your move when she can't see you.

Trust me it's really not that hard as many make sound like.

Yes you have to work for it but it's still very well doable.

A regular killer you can get away with being predictable, spirit and nurse will punish you hard for being predictable.

Now I can say I escape many times against nurse, but i already know that I will get the same answer I always get.

"you escape because you play against a bad nurse"

    😬 Talking about predictability
