Hi
I've seen mandy's opinion about nurse
He said nurse doesn't have problem even though Nurse is super strong because it is so hard to be adept nurse.
Yeah nurse is op in highest rank. Actually middle-low skilled user can't handle nurse so statistic looks nurse is normal killer. But It is not.
I've worked in game industry and I totally against this mention. It is horrible mind of balancing.
Hard to be skillful user doesn't mean character should have super power.
For example, most of famous game like LOL, DOTA also has characters like nurse
But they are not OP. Just they are tricky. So they can show good performance with skillful user but most of players also can barely good result too.
Have you ever seen Nurse challenge of Sal_gu (streamer who is no.1 killer in KR) ?
He try to show how nurse is broken when skillful user want to kill survivors.
He choose nurse every games. Less than 3% players could survive. Is it normal you think?
In game environment, upward leveling of user's skill is unavoidable because the number of new players will decrease and left players get adept more. Which means in the future, Most of adept users can slaughter new players with nurse. It is not hard to see this culture. For example, most of battle fighting game and FPS game has barrier to entry because of broken balance and culture.
below link is reaction of it.
Nurse experiment (400 kills) - Page 3 — Dead By Daylight
Is nurse broken? : deadbydaylight (reddit.com)
Also, Actually, In KR server red rank, If killer choose Nurse or spirit (Mother-Daughter Ring + Yakuyoke Amulet addon), survivors withdraw gen and wait other survivor killed to escape to hatch. I think it shows future of DBD with broken balance.
The reason why nurse has problem is below.
- Most of high rank player choose Nurse every time if they want to win. Which means in terms of balance, meta can be easy to be fixed. For example, in KR server, there are more skillful users especially survivors than other server. So, in 1-2 red ranks, most of killers pick Nurse, Spirit, Blight to win because if they don't choose them, they can get just t-bagging.
- It makes deformed league culture as well. Now, most of leagues ban nurse's add-on. (Also, some league ban spirit's add-on too) Because people know that she is OP in highest player. Which means it is not good for DBD's E-Sport plan.
- It can make entry barrier. If new survivor face skillful nurse player, they can delete game.
- Upward leveling of user's skill and decrease of new players can't be avoidable. Which means in the future, just choose Nurse can be mandatory.
I don't say just "NERF NURSE BOOOO!". Because tricky characters are also needed in game. But it is too much.
So Dev have to make it easy to play Nurse more to get more Nurse users (especially middle rank) and adjust her power as well. Yeah maybe It need remake of her ability and add-on as well.
Blueprint of her ability should be changed. It's not the matter of nerf or buff.
Thank you
She is strong, not OP.
Otherwise you would only see nurses everywhere.
Sure she can ignore basic loops, but when you use line of sights you'll make it harder for her.
You have to finally work to be able to escape instead of mindlessly loop a killer in the same way again, and again, and again, and again.
Now you really need to get in the head of the killer and force her to make mistakes.
Your reasoning sounds good but in reality it is pretty flawed.
You base your findings on what you've seen from someone else.
Someone who play a lot of nurse (from my understanding as I don't know that person), so yeah you can expect him to have only a 3% escape rate with nurse.
What do you think when you face me for example when I play wraith?
You get about the same percentage of escape rate.
Why?
Because I play that killer a lot and understand how to play him optimale and how to use his powers in the best way.
Even deathsquads have a very very hard time against me and most of the time don't even escape.
Does that make wraith also OP?
Nope not close, just because a person spent time learning a certain killer to use optimale, doesn't mean that that killer is suddenly OP.
It is normal that you have a very small chance to escape when you face a person who plays that killer a lot and is actually really good with that killer.
So getting to the point of it all, nurse doesn't need a rework of her powers or need a nerf.

Hahaha could be a sign that the hatch will fly away eventually, 😬😂

The biggest counter argument I can give you:
You are aware that killers can bodyblock things, right? If you vault out of a window, Killers can block it without needing Bamboozle by just standing still.
The House of Pain is the only good argument you can make here, but guess what? That exact same building is in Springwood, so we know it's going to get at least 2 breakable walls(which, are not bad, the killers who need the doorways to be gone are killers that are strong in 1v1's anyway and have plenty of time to break them down, the killers who need them to be there dont have much time outside their 1v1's dont have to spend time breaking them down, therefor massively reducing their overal 1v1 times on those maps.
Seriously, I dont see the issue with breakable walls. People argue that "why not keep them removed around godloops" and the easy answer to that is that survivors have a limited amount of resources, if those walls were gone to begin with, there would be nothing to use. Or: "Why not just close walls up that people never break down anyway?". Because killers dont need their hands to be held. They need to be able to make mistakes. Opening up a god loop by breaking the wrong wall is a mistake. Let alone that, once again, not all killers loop the same. A Demogorgon can benefit from breaking open the doorway. Let alone that it gives survivors a way to use the wiggle meter against the killer, forcing them to open up a pathway they really dont want to be open for the sake of a hookstate.
Breakable walls heavily improve maps overall. Lery's and Haddonfield are the only major maps that still benefit heavily from breakable walls. Hawkins is the only map that doesnt benefit from breakable walls. Otherwise the argument can easily be flipped to the point of "why board 3 out of 4 windows in the Gas Heaven shop? It's so annoying to only use 1".
Tbh, survivors only have a limited amount of resources IF you throw all pallets down instantly.
And even then the chance of survival is really high as long as the other 3 just do gens.
If you play smarter on loops with pallets then by the time the game is over, there are still enough pallets on the map to work with.
As survivor the only thing you have to do are 5 gens, loop the killer for a bit and be smart with pallets.
The gens always spawn on the same spots so they are easy to find.
The killer has to search for a survivor, chase a survivor, hit a survivor, chase the survivor, down the survivor, pick up the survivor and walk to a hook and hook the survivor.
Repeat that 11 more times and you'll see the difference in amount of objectives on each side.
Now put in some breakable walls the need to break to prevent a god/infinite loop to add even more to it.
The chances are small that you block a window or pallet as killer when you're chasing a survivor.
You vault through a window and bodyblock that window by just standing there?
Sure mate you go ahead, I'll run to another loop then and waste even more time of you. 😉

Hahaha do you know how much fun it is to bring purple mist as killer?
That is, if you play all seeing wraith 😂
Have done this multiple times and even had a 4 man blendette swf who all 4 brought it too.
It is so much fun to see it backfire on them thinking that they are safe them 😂
The messages after the game are the most hilarious being called a hacker because I knew where they were, 😂🤘

His AOE has a cooldown. If he commits to a chase, the others do gens. If he doesn't commit to a chase, run back to the gen.
3 gens with 4 survivors alive is a guaranteed loss for the killer.
Yup that's why i never understand the debate about getting 3 genned and saying it's unfair.
If you as a team gets 3 genned then it's all your fault and not the killers fault.
Like you say, survivors are with 4 and they can push a single gen around 30s, even if he doesn't commit to chases.
It's so stupidly easy to break the 3 gen if survivors were just a tiny bit smarter.
A killer will be focused on the gen where 3 survivors are working on.
If they keep him busy then that gen doesn't even need to pop.
I always sneak behind the killer to another gen and push that till it pops.
By the time he realised that I went behind him on a different gen, it is already over.
So yeah, I never get why survivors cry about getting 3 genned.

I enjoy playing as doctor sometimes. He's good for a laugh and actually fun to play. Going against doctors isn't much of an issue for me either. If I get outplayed, I give them props and move on. I've recently run into a handful of doctor players that seem to refuse to leave their 3 Gen from the very start of the match. They wouldn't chase anyone, they would just patrol the 3 gen they found and do nothing else.
I'm not saying you CAN'T do this, I understand it is a viable strat. I just, it partially feels like holding the game hostage, but it's also just boring af.
I know I don't get to dictate how others enjoy the game, it's just very VERY boring and frustrating to go against. If I had a swf it might be easier but I am almost always a solo Q player.
Anybody else have similar experiences? Maybe some insight to help me understand how this might be enjoyable for the killer? Maybe just a different perspective? I appreciate any feedback :)
If i see a killer going for a 3 gen, especially right from the start, I try to get other survivors with me.
Most of the time signaling to come with me and tbaggen them a bit to make them come with me usually works as a solo.
I make sure we don't get 3 gen and when the other 3 figured out he's trying that, then it works.
There is so little a killer can do when 3 or 4 survivors are pushing a gen from the 3 gen start.
Cause then it's not a matter of if it popped, but when it pops.
And then is pretty fast

You can't counter a killer who gives no indication as to when she uses her power. Therefore, any action you do is just a pure guess, not counterplay. Counterplay is reacting to what the opposing team is doing. For example, Huntress pulling up her hatchet. You can react to that.
Spirit gives you nothing to react to. Bad spirit players are why people think she has counterplay.
So let me get this right.
Basically what you're saying is that when spirit stops mid chase you just keep running?
Don't get me wrong here, but if everyone plays like that than I'm not surprised people complain about her.
Sorry but if she stops mid chase (especially in the open) you react to her.
And if you have a bit of distance from her, which you always have at some point, you can hear her phase sound.
It's not as loud as when you're out of her TR but you can hear it none the less.
You don't hear it when you're close to hear, that's why you don't work on a gen in hear TR for example.
But sure mindgaming isn't a counter, you keep telling yourself that.
You use that more than you think against other killers than you think.
Apparently than I have, according to you, only played against bad spirits.
Yes when someone plays spirit a lot than your survival possibilities will decrease.
But that goes for every single killer.
If i play as wraith than your survival possibility will decrease than when i play as for example as pig.
People who say spirit has no counters are either people who follow the mass and yell whatever they do without trying to play and try to find it for themselves, or are just not so good as they think or just what easy games.
But again, sure apparently I only play against bad spirits then 🤷♂️

So nurse is fine... she's pretty simple and easy going I think. Doesn't take alot for her to be nackered out.
As for spirit... she's either spawned exactly where I was (I know they vary on where they spawn) ... or somethings definitely not right. I've had spirit 5 times today and she knows exactly where we are at all times. Is there any tips for counter play against her? Ive tried absolutely everything I can think of. I run Kindred & Dark Sense. Occasionally today running these 2 perks she's nowhere to be seen 🤷♀️ yet there she is stood behind me and there's me thinking "how ya get from the other side of the map to here on my exact location?" ... even being a locker rat hearing her coming, all lockers on the map and there she is....
Really need help going against her guys, she's so overly powered in everything she does and just feel I never have a leg to stand on in her matches.
Heard a few people saying she needs to be nurfed? How true that is I have no idea. But surely there's no way she could know where you are all the time
Sounds more like your getting busted by bbq if i read it like that.
Other possibilities are that you may be injured and she has the add on where she sees blood but no scratches.
Or she hears you while you're injured, or even close to you while she phase when you go into a locker.
There's a change she has surveillance and just knows you're there because you work on a gen she kicked.
Imo she doesn't need further nerfs, the only thing they could ad without destroying her ( that's what most people want), is giving her a little animation or sound cue when she starts phasing.
Haven't touched dbd in about 2 months now but I personally haven't seen much spirits when I still played.
As far as I know there haven't been any changes on her, so if there is indeed an increase in spirits then I wonder why.
Could also be an platform specific thing where there are more spirits or region thing.
But there are multiple ways to counter her.
Most important is to remember roughly when she used her powers.
It's a thing many fall for eventhough she literally just used it.
When she uses her power you can run back the exact way you came from, start walking or start walking in a different direction.
When vaulting a window, slow vault back, and the next time you fast vault a window again just walk away from the window as she might think you slow vault back.
Same with pallets.
Run to a pallet but stay at the side you came from and drop it.
She might think you're on the other side and thus waisting time while you run back where you came from.
Drop a pallet and slow vault back over it and choose whatever you want from there.
During a chase in the open and she's phasing, just stop and crouch and continue.
She might think you ran back where you came from.
As soon as she appears again and you haven't had a spot to hide, just start running again.
Those are some of the thinks I use but make sure you stay unpredictable and mix it all up.
You do that and she becomes confused and start second guessing almost everything she does, which leads to her making bad reads and most likely losing the match.
Personally i never understand all the cries about spirit.
I love killers where you need to think outside of the box and have to work for a change to escape.
She's really not that bad and I recommend what I recommend to everyone.
If you have problems with a certain killer, just play multiple matches as that killer in the red and purple ranks.
See how they counter her, learn what her weaknesses are.
That's the best way to fully understand a particular killer. 😉

I don't personally hang around to T-bag and save if I know I can't safely rescue someone. That doesn't stop my other three teammates from trying.
I have never lost a game due to Bloodwarden, however the rest of my team has multiple times.
I find it honestly pretty funny when the remaining two survivors t-bag by the gate only to realize BW went of and they're positively #########.
Killers, if you find it frustrating that your survivors keep t-bagging and BMing you, just get your hands on Bloodwarden and teach those ######### a lesson
Although keys might counter this so sorry.
I love survivor you fall victim of the afk strat 😂
I remember a match where I saw bubba standing afk, tho I'm always very weary with that.
So when the last gen popped I just ran out the exit.
Went back to spectate and saw them t bagging him till there was little time left, and surprisingly he just used his noed, hooked 1 and activated bw.
Was so satisfying to see how they fell so easily for that 😂

Ok so seriously we need to discuss survivors popping gens when a fellow survivor has a trap on thier head. If the killer has ruin or its the last gen then I get it pop it. BUT majority of the time you are killing that team member. Especially if pig put add ons so you can't even be stealthy you have to bolt it to boxes but then you get found and then have no time to get the trap off.
I know some will make the sarcastic comment saying "just don't get downed" but hey ho ######### goes down.
More people need to think about this especially when the killer has add ons. Even if you give the survivor 20 seconds just to get a head start on the boxes before you pop the gen it helps.
Traps are more used to slow down the game for pig because survivors need to find the boxes.
But no matter the add ons she use, as survivor you have so much time to get it off whether gens are popping or not.
If you die because of a trap that means you played either greedy or way to scared.
The times I died from a trap I can count on 1 hand and those were always times I was to greedy.
If my trap isn't even active then I don't care about boxes, either I help pop a gen or work on one till it pops or someone else pops a gen.
Getting found by pig when my trap is active?
I don't mind, the trap pauzes and i just loop her as long as possible till she leaves me.
But i always plan my route so when she leaves me, I'm already close to a box so I lose barely any time.
I don't get why other survivors panic so much with a trap on?
Just stay calm and plan your route accordingly, you have enough time to search all of them before the timer runs out no matter the add ons she uses

There are nice killers. In fact around green ranks I've noticed many players are good sports.
Oh I know there are more nice killers, met them myself too.
They aren't rank bound tbh, they are in all ranks.
Some ranks there are more than others, mostly because in red ranks you'd get more punished for being nice than say in green ranks.

You're welcome, your game was pure skill, and from what I could tell no cheapness. You helped to demonstrate what I've thought all along which is that in the hands of a good player, the Wraith was more than capable of being a dangerous killer. If I'd been in that match I wouldn't have disconnected (especially that last person, who - were you trying to let her have the hatch? If so, poor call on her part), I would have been frustrated enough to write back "damn man, good game". :P
Thanks for the advice too!
Yeah believe it or not, there are some nice killers around.
If 1 or more dc I always give the last survivor the hatch.
Sometimes it makes me depip or draw, but i don't mind that.
Tbh was also pretty surprised she dc'd just as I gave her the hatch, but yeah some people can't handle defeat and/or kindness.
After the matched I asked them why they dc'd, but as no surprise there was only silence.

See this is a Wraith match I'd have no problem with. Not meaning that I wouldn't die (I would, lol), but rather meaning that it looks like a perfectly fair game. The killer won with skill, good thinking ahead, good spatial awareness. He didn't just systematically sneak up on everybody, de-cloak without a bell, and power-lunge everyone to their doom. He was out running around, playing the game, and the survivors were playing too recklessly. These are the kind of Wraith games I miss. Now it seems like anytime I get a Wraith it's just "quietly follow from a distance, wait until someone gets on a gen, then rush up, appear out of nowhere, and lunge them. Fair strategy, sure. But it definitely feels like less of an actual game than this clip does.
Tnx really appreciate that.
It's what I love to do as a killer.
I hate to go for 1 survivor at the time (which a lot of killers did), I love to go for multiple chases and out think every single survivor and see what they're made off.
If you want a killer gets really tunnelvisioned, run no mither.
Trust me, most of the time they forget about the rest and focused solely on you.
By the time they realise that they are loosing the match because they spent to much time on you, the game is basically over 😬

Onis aren't common to come across because he's harder to play as compared to most killers. That's why killers like Spirit, Freddy, and Wraith are more common, they're easier to play as, and so killers tend to play them because they find them more comfortable and less stressful.
Oni w/o Scalped Topknot is a pretty damn powerful yet balanced killer, and doesn't need changes other than that add-on needing to be looked at.
I played all killers as I enjoy variaty among the killers.
Survivors I just mained Nea as they are basically just different skins with no different powers or anything.
Oni is very fun to play as, but before I stopped with dbd I barely saw any spirits or wraiths tbh.
On ps4/5 at least, not sure how it was on other platforms.

Hahaha yeah i thought sehe didn't expect me there.
That gray add on made it more fun as it holds your TR at 0 for 6s after uncloaking.
It can throw survivor off guard massively.
They are allready on edge because they're not sure if you are close to them or at a different survivor.
When they realise you are on them it's either to late or they panic 😬

You can win most games with the average killer.
Compared to most killers, he was below average, some even going as far to saying he was the worst killer in the game. I honestly still think he's a below average killer, with the all-seeing aura reading add-on being the only overpowered thing about him. The buffs he got definitely made him WAY better, however.
I will admit though, good Wraiths are scary to go against.
Unfortunately I haven't got the time to play dbd in about 2 months now or so, so i can't judge how the buffed version of wraith is.
All seeing is great on him, really enjoyed that add on.
Especially when going against a 4 man swf blendette squad who all bring purple mist, which I brought also 😬
They all thought they were safe, but oh how wrong they were 🤣
But yeah some might say he's average, i would say he's a little above average.
But that could be due to the amount of time is spent on him learning to play him effectively.
Many pick a killer and expect to do good with little to no effort, and when they don't do well they class that killer quickly to a low tier.
And sometimes you get swf squads like this which is just to funny 🤣

This was particularly useful for players who still do not have many add-on killers unlocked, but he hasn't posted a new video in over a month. So, I am asking for feedback about Surveillance. Is it worth the shards?
Surveillance is a good perk combined with ruin.
But also if you haven't got ruin it works well with brutal strength.
Kick the gen faster and as soon as it turns yellow then you know where to find survivor(s)

"just make him how he was before the recent patch" great idea lets put him back to being the weakest killer in the game. Unless you mean put him back to when he didnt have the huge lunge out of cloak which I would honestly be ok with.
Wraith has never been a low tier killer or a terrible killer before the buff tbh.
A mistake that a lot of people made was that they walked in cloack in a straith line from 1 place to another expecting to catch survivors off guard thinking they couldn't see him.
I played as wraith so much, probably at least the double amount that I played other killers, and I barely ever lost a match as him.
Usually getting a 3 or 4k, without the windstorm add on.
You just need to learn how to play him effectively and you can dominate most of the teams, even most of the 4 man swf squads.

Just wondering if other people, mostly killers, have been seeing what I'm seeing:
Due to unfortunate circumstances I have not been able to play much dbd for two rank resets. This has put me from rank 1 to rank 10; it is what it is. However being stuck down at these ranks I've been noticing a fair amount of survivors, typically between ranks 10 and 6, who are clearly very capable loopers and are very efficient on gens. basically they do everything I expect of people around ranks 1-3. I mean, survivors already have the head of balance pampering them at every turn so why smurf and why so many smurfs? and we aren't even talking about solo smurfs, i'm seeing 3-4 man smurfing bully squads!!! The people who I find near impossible to beat up at rank 1.
I know there are some people who might not think this is such a problem since they are doing it for easier games but for someone like me who's trying to get out of the lower ranks the matches are either the things that give me nightmares at rank 1 or an absolute chill rofl-stomping of a time against people who belong in the lower ranks. I find it an issue because I'm not supposed to be there and I get accused for smurfing when in fact I'm being held back by smurfs. To me a tough match is a tough match and I can tell they are smurfs because they are all chill until suddenly they realize I know their tricks...that's when the sweat comes out. but really, as a killer main it honestly isn't fair to survivors at lower ranks and I often find myself relaxing and "playing" with them more to be sporting or learning to use other killers that i'm not proficient with. however I can't escape knowing that it is really unfair to them for me to be matched with them when I run my better killers and builds trying to get out of green ranks but only being met with survivor teams who very clearly belong in red ranks.
I see the surfs as people who find higher ranks more difficult because they can bully that easily.
So the make a smurf account and start bullying lower rank killers.
Because they can accept defeat and want their god ego being fed as much as possible.
And as they find it harder to do in higher ranks, they resort to the lower ranks

You can nerf & buff one perk, killer or mechanic. What will change?
I am nerfing Spirit, she needs that so much.
I am buffing gen kicking and now kicking gens will worth it.
There's no need for a spirit nerf tbh.
Just a little sound cue or a slight animation when she starts to phase is all there is needed and nothing more tbh.
Who would I buff?
Trickster as he's a laughing stock for survivors.
Make it where he needs lesser blades to down someone.
Also the survivors need to pull out his daggers for his lasseration to go away.
What will I nerf?
Gen speed.
Not by much but say about only 10 seconds or so.
Yes I don't like sitting long on a gen as a survivor, but i do love matches that aren't over earlier than 10 minutes.

Welcome to the bhvr logic.
Tbh huntress is in a good place and honestly only the iri head had to be reworked, the others were fine imo.

i don't know any red rank survivors personally who likes to play solo. Sure sometimes they have to but most of the time they try to arrange something with other players. Most of them gathered enough dbd players in their friendlist over the years. I don't even think it's about the comm's, but more the reliability, you know how they play and that they're good players.
☝️Here's a solo red rank survivor.
As you pointed out, I have loads of people in my friends list who I met over the years during dbd, but despite getting invites I always decline them.
Personally i enjoy the game way more as a solo, but always ready to sacrifice myself to get others out.
Always go for chases over gens as that is the only fun thing as playing survivor.

The game is badly optimised as is, i'm not ######### recording every match i play just to watch it back, i'm not that much of a nerd.
The game isn't properly optimised that is true, but it's not as bad as you make it sound like it is.
True killers are very strong till you start hitting green ranks at least.
Once you hit green you will notice a slight shift in power and the higher you get the more you will notice that the killers aren't even that strong as you might think now.
Sure there are some people who as killer will steamroll over survivors, whether they are solo or swf.
You don't have to record every single match, I just said to record the matches you think went badly.
And even those you don't have to record all, just a few will do.
You can watch it back and see where you can improve and what things you could have done differently.
That is what I was saying, and it will help.
Another thing I said is you can watch other people's vids to see how they play, how they run certain tiles, how they counter some killers, etc, etc.
Trust me you will notice that you will play much more optimised and survive way longer

god gamer over here.
Never said I was.
All I said is survivor isn't that hard as people say it is.
If you understand the game a bit better then you will most likely change your perspective.
I really suggest you play both sides at red ranks and also watch back games where you think that didn't go well and look why it went the way it did.
Most of the time you go down as survivor, it is because you did a bad read or was to greedy.
Use your recorded gameplay to improve your own gameplay.
Watch how other people play against certain killers and how they run certain tiles.

Just adding to the pile of killers are too strong posts, maybe the devs will actually do something if enough people say something.
🤣🤣🤣 Are you joking?
I play solo and barely have a hard time to survive 🤣
I even play from time to time with no mither to make it more of a challenge and still most of the time I don't have a hard time.
And that's as rank 1 against all killers.
So i don't see where this part of crying about is coming from tbh.
Seriously, people need to stop crying about that and look at their own playstyle.
No killer in this game is OP whatsoever.

So you're the ppl who DC early vs. Spirit in my solo ques. Look at you, won't learn anything.
The only stupid thing with Spirit is her "standing still mindgame". Just give her phase noises EVERYTIME, even in TR.
Some people unfortunately refuses to learn new things.
See the cries about the "nerfed" ds for example.
There hasn't really changed anything big for survivors side with it but the crying about it is real.
About spirit and her standing still.
I don't think they should give her the phasing sound while in her TR.
Give her a slight animation or a short sound cue when she starts phasing.
Nothing more than that is actually needed tbh.
Even though I have no problems with that when going against her, I think this would be a good and nice compromise for both sides

all killers need to be buffed to match SWF
nurse and spirit are the only 2.
There is no more than 2.
Solo Q needs to be brought up to par with swf.
If that is done then you can see what and if killers needs to be buffed or nerfed.
If you keep buffing killers to be a treat against swf than a lot of solo players will be destroyed.
In your words, that will make the game die because there are close to none survivors left.
Edit, there are more killers viable in red ranks.
I played a lot of wraith before he got buffed without windstorm.
Almost every game 3 or 4k, even against well coordinated swf teams

Hate to burst your bubble but matchmaking was never fixed 😅

You gamble, you take the consequences very simple.
Always expect it isn't possible.
Btw as soon as you start cleansing you position yourself in the middle ie where the trap is.
So it's Definitely fair as you are going to sit on the trap itself.
If he had put it a bit further back you would have been fine tho

You can see and hear him from like 20 feet away, so his power is pretty much useless except against the most clueless rank 15-20 survivors
He has ZERO power in chase
So not only is he useless in chase, but in 90% of maps you can see and hear him coming from enough of a distance to give you a nice cushion to run away
If it's gonna take him 4 seconds to get out of invis, they should atleast make it so he doesn't make sound when he's invis otherwise the invisibility is completely useless
He's never been trash tbh.
Not sure if you played him more than once, but i had no problem to keep up with very well coordinated swf teams at rank 1.
Barely ever depiped when I played as him.
This was all prior to the buff he got, haven't played the buffed version yet as I haven't touched the game for about 2 months now.
If you know how to play him well then he's a real treat.
He's my most played killer and it won't surprise me if I even have the highest kill rate among all the other killers.
Not among other people but I mean as my personal record.

I feel like forcing survivors to drop their items is kind of like petty theft, but at the same time, keys exist so it's kind of necessary. So what's the general consensus of Franklin's Demise? Toxic or a necessary evil?
Just use whatever you want, it's in the game for a reason.
You really think the other side thinks about what is fair for you?
People only think it's unfair or toxic if they rely to heavily on items.
And those that do you can find easily, just hit them and chase them for a second or 3 and than leave them.
Look how fast they go back for their item despite they have 90s before it disappears.

this isn't a rant about why i hate the spirit, just curios why it hasnt already been nerfed
i just feel like it should be nerfed because of how much the community dislikes her and how unfair and uncounterable her power is.
have the devs said anything about? 😀
She's been nerfed 2 or 3 times already 🤣
I really don't know why all that crying.
It's a matter of adapt to her, something I noticed many people always refuse to do and not only against spirit but with every change there's made in the game.
I actually love versing her as it requires a different playstyle and you have to work for your escape for once.
And to be fair, how many spirits do you really see these days?
A handful a week or something?

I know there are many posts about "unfair" survivor / killer perks, addons, abilities around here, and I don't want this post to be one of those. I'm not whining, I wanna know what ya'll think about that, and instead of being flamed for my post being toxic / me being entitled, I'd be happy about advices for how to play against that.
I'm talking about Michael's red addon. I think it is too strong, because I think it is impossible for Michael to lose a game when he plays that perk. Nothing's stopping him. I am aware that playing stealth would be a good idea, also to spread out a little, but since gens HAVE to be done, he WILL find survivors sooner or later. Combined with his lunge attack, I think this is impossible to beat for survivors.
Michael is one of my 3 main killers, but I have never played this addon and don't plan to do so. This is NOT about survs vs killers, so please don't hijack my thread for that stupid war. I just want to know if ya'll agree or not, and if you have some good strategy to at least have a chance against that? I've faced 3 Michaels using it today and it's really frustrating to feel like we haven't the slightest chance.
My suggestion is to play every add on at least a couple of times to see how it really is to run it.
But tbh it is strong indeed, but that is all up to the survivors how strong they let it be.
It takes for ever to level up to tier 3 and if survivors are getting overconfident then it is completely on them.
All you have to do is keep breaking line of sight and he can only stalk a tiny bit of you till he loses you.
Plus there is so much he can stalk off of a survivor.
So running into a survivor who can't be stalked anymore will hurt him more than help him.
If he is able to get tier 3 early on to close to mid game, then it is the fault of the survivors for feeding him to much stalk and getting put into a difficult position.

Gen rushing does not exist it was coined by bad killers that over committed to a chase for too long and pay the price.
Unfortunately it dies exist, except not as much as some would say.
And it doesn't happen to bad killers only or killers who commit to chases to long.
I had a game where I found a survivor within 10 to 15 seconds as the game started.
She went down within 30 seconds and guess what, 2 gens popped and the 3rd right before I hooked her.
The 4th was shortly after, that was all within 3 minutes into the game.
Maybe you think that is not possible?
But yeah it is most definitely possible, toolboxes, BNP and prove thyself.
And to be clear it was as rank 1 against rank 1's.
Niw you can tell me a lot but there was no way I spend to much time on that 1st survivor I found, and there was no way for me to get from 1 side of the map to the other side of the map within the time I hook her and the 4th gen popped.
So yeah again it does exist but it isn't that much as it is said
-
@wxnickxw said:
I keep seeing the term used but never gotten a decent definition. Most of the time it seems like gen rushing is used whenever the survivors are doing gens faster the the killer is hooking them. Any decent definition out there though?
Very simple actually.
When your game is about 5 minutes than it is clearly gen rushing.
Then you have games like I did i while back where 2 gens popped when I downed the first survivor and a 3rd right before I hooked her.
The 4th was followed shortly after, so that were 4 gens in about 3 minutes and I only had 1 hook at that time.
And usually that is a gg next match please.
That is when survivors play smart.
I got a 4k out of it only because they knew how to rush gens but not how to loop.
The didn't 3 gen themselves but were only focused on 1 single gen instead of splitting up on the gens.
But even though I managed to get a 4k out of it, the first part was also a definite gen rush.
Long story short, every game where gens are done within 5 minutes is considered gen rushing.

I really think that hook grabs are more unfun and face camper promoting than they’re worth.
If a Survivor is being camped, there should always at least be the option to hook trade. You could still hit someone while unhooking or cancel an unhook if you’re quick and they’re injured.
It wouldn’t be a game breaking change against good Killer players and it would help a lot to make the most unfun Killer “playstyles” more bearable.
To counter hook grabs there's an very easy one.
Don't go for unsafe unhooks or for an unhook when a survivor is being face camped

Like many players have said hillbilly is not fun to play and a shadow of his former self. It’s unfair towards all hillbilly players because according to the devs he was the most balanced killer, but they nerfed him to the ground and made him unplayable due to his power limitations/bugged animations/useless addons. Otz explains everything in this video,he is a high skill low reward killer and his addons are inexistant. Devs should fix their biggest mistake and rework his addons and buff him.
Tier list are fun and all but imo not really accurate.
Maybe he's not that good with Billy but with another killer he's really good.
Now he would place the killer he's really good with in s tier.
So some people will suddenly start playing that S tier killer he's so good with, only to find out that they are not that good with that killer, not even after a huge amount of games.
It has all to do with how well that particular killer suits you and/or your playstyle.
A lot of people said wraith was a low tier killer before his buff, probably even the weakest killer.
And here I am doing really well with him and there are barely any games I've lost as him as rank 1, even against swf.
Again that is before his buff and I never used windstorm what everyone said he needed to be somewhat reliable.
So yeah tier lists are fun and all but I wouldn't rely to much on them because it's just a personal preference and nothing more.
-
@Northener1907 said:
Wraith is not problem lol. That boi was weakest killer for years. He deserves some good days. Leave him alone.
And Spirit is biggest problem. Before her noone deserves nerf.
If people think he was weak before the buff then they were asleep or never knew how to play him.
He's strong than most people realised, I barely lost a match while I played as him.
There's been only a handful of swf that got away from me and I never used windstorm.

For me, getting killed or disconnect is the same. The difference is in one way I keep my bloodpoints, the other I lost them, and I dont really care, Im playing to get better and help my teammates how much as I can.
Im the kind of survivor that sacrificed himself to help my teammates escape, but in this case I couldnt help people that dont play the game as it should.
Yes I blame the survivors more than the killer, but I play killer too and I know that he could have do something more than just sitting on generators.
When nobody is working on the generators you can travel more. Not in the opposite of the map, but 10 or 20 meters more. He keeps waiting on generators even when I was searching for the Claudette during 10min, even when I tried to stole her key during another 10min, even when I try to told her to work on generators more 10min.
That was just an absurd game.
Don't get me wrong here as I'm not trying to be meand or mix me in the discussion between the 2 of you.
But you say you're the kind survivor that will sacrifice himself for the team.
The Kate and the Claudette were looking for the hatch with a key you stated earlier.
Why not sacrifice yourself for the team so they can escape trough the hatch and shorten the match by a lot?
I know you don't like to get yourself killed but with a match this long it would have been the wisest option.

I feel your pain dude, the problem is we cant do anything except disconnect or try to get killed, but its not the purpose of the game.
Dc is never a good way.
I didn't knew that the meg was searching for a key, I just thought she was trying to push on another gen.
I hadn't kept an eye on the time but only realised it after the match it was a 90 minutes game.
Had I known that earlier I would have let me bleed out earlier instead of getting myself healed up.
But yeah that was a long time ago and the only time it happened to me.
Since then I do everything I can te prevent a 3 gen, which can be a pain sometimes as a solo

I started a game with my friend who is yellow rank (im red rank) I looped the killer during 4 generators.
Then the team got 3 gen...
The killer didnt wanted to chase me, or other survivors. He was just kicking over and over the last 3 generators.
I told my friend to start a different generator from mine but they were so close.
I was wondering "where are the Claudette and Kate" (they were swf too each other)
They were searching for the hatch with a key.... but the hatch wasnt spawn, we had to do one more generator..
It was the worst experience of dbd Ive ever had. I dont want to play with my low rank friend anymore... I play with him because he is my friend, but clearly I lost my time during this game.
I think the devs should had a secret timer, after 30min the end game collapse begin, whatever happen, idk but never again.
Next time I will just disconnect.
Both the Claudette and the killer were "game-hostaging" but they didnt knew they were.....
I complain about red ranks games being too fast, but yellow ranks games are too long lol
I can remember such game a long time ago vs doc on a farm map.
All he did was hitting a survivor and kicking the gen.
Even when he downed a survivor he didn't pick them up.
Luckily we were with 3 left and 1 gen to do.
We tried to get him away from the gens but didn't budge and kept going from gen to gen.
I was just about to run to the killer and let myself get downed and eventually bleed out if he wouldn't pick me up when a meg ran in front of me and showed she had a key.
Was glad that that 90 minutes game was over.

Just a lucky moment thread from recent matches as someone else started an unlucky one but I couldn't think of anything immediately (except playing killer against red keys that get dropped and picked up, etc.)
I was playing survivor on Ormond against a really strong pig as Bill. It was a massacre, my whole team was dead with 2 or 3 gens left and I needed to find hatch. So I started running around when I saw the hatch up the flight of stairs in the main building and just BARELY made it in as she hit me. If that pig had been there literally 2 seconds sooner she probably closed the hatch and been merciless.
Playing as survivor on badham vs freddy.
Got downed during the egc and hooked while getting rescued after a few sec.
Made it to the exit only to see it is blocked by bloodwarded.
Got downed again and he brought me to the hook again.
Luckily for me he forgot the closest hook where I was first hooked and went to a further one.
At the moment he reached the hook, my wiggle bar was fun and I jumped of his shoulder.
The other 3 already left and thus he chased me while I ran towards the exit.
Only to escape with about no more than half a sec to spare (it might be even less but who cares when it's that close)

The ranks are all over the place because the matchmaking has always had trouble matching up ranks. If there's no one to pair you with within 6 ranks, it opens it up to everyone.
This is bordering on conspiracy theory now. You can tell if MMR is on because when you play a killer for the first time, you'll go against rank 17-20s regardless of your rank. Which only happened during the 24 hr test.
That was the theory indeed, it was supposed to be like that to go against low ranks when you first play a killer.
In practice it was nothing like that.
I've been therewith the testing and I can tell you for sure it didn't work one bit.
From day 1 I had only played nurse 2 times, last time more than a year before the mmr test.
So you would say the mmr would be basically none existent, but yet got matched with red ranks only.
I played as nurse about 4 or 5 times during the test and I only saw red ranks.
Funny enough when I play as survivor I got ranks all over the place, even the killer changed every match.
So not sure how they were testing but it didn't work.
About current matchmaking I know it isn't that great but it's very surprisingly you play hours with red ranks and suddenly (it's no joke) you play as a rank 1 with rank 20 and 2 rank 18 against a rank 1 killer.
Now I don't believe that there isn't a single survivor available in ranks closer to mine.
But it will be an endless circle about whether or not they're testing it behind the scenes.

Sorry but no, we do always advise when MMR will be active and when we are testing something in that manner - it's not something that's done without communication. MMR was on for 24hrs only and has not been tested on the live servers since then.
OK if you say so.
I still find it funny that from 1 moment to another the ranks are all over the place.
You play several hours with and against red and purple ranks and all of a sudden there are yellow/brown/green and red ranks together.
Stuff like that makes people think you guys are testing mmr.
I don't mind if it is happening as you guys need data after all.
But it is very weird that the ranks are suddenly all over the place for no reason whatsoever and then you're saying there is no testing behind the scene on the live server 🤷♂️

I dropped back to yellow levels and the unimaginable happened...... i get red rank teammates as yellow rank killer to play against....
I know that in this pandemic times it is the last thing what you wanna hear about that how much your game is broken, but i have to tell it..... the MMR is not working and still i have instant ques as killer and have to wait as survivor.
Best wishes, please don't bann me!
🤔 Wait a minute, who did you pay off to get teammates when you play as clown? 🤔
Here I'm always alone when I play killer and you get help 😜
But in all seriousness, MMR is not yet implemented.
I'm very confident they switch it on and off from time to time without telling it.
You can tell it when you play with and against red ranks all the time and all of a sudden the ranks are all over the place.
I don't want to discourage you, but i have a very strong feeling that it will take a very long time.
Especially when you look at other promises they made, 🤬 looking at the console optimization update for example.
So i wouldn't hold my breath for that if I were you.

Sounds to me like a good case to fix those big maps, then.
That is a argument I can stand by.
Some maps are just stupidly big which hurts the slower killers a lot as well as killers that takes time to setup.
I definitely hope those maps shrink in size with a rework

Map offering and a key, and usingit durring EGC against a Trickster that only has 1 hook? Seriously?
Does anyone else see this often?
1 other thing and it is not to bm, toxic or mean or anything.
But there is no reason to say the rank 4 is a coward.
Matchmaking isn't really ideal in dbd and he can't know whether he goes against a rank 1 or a rank 20.
He probably plays the same as I do and that is play as if you go against a high rank killer.
Even if in your situation you only got 1 hook, they won't know what perks you have for certain.
If i see that a killer has only a few hooks, i always suspect noed and act accordingly.
It doesn't mean I go out instantly but I do whatever it takes to not get hit and escape either by the gates or hatch.
And let's say that all 4 of them were a swf as they were all cross platform.
A while back bhvr had changed the matchmaking for swf, meaning they get match according to the highest ranked player of the group.
Might have changed over time by an average off all the rank combined.
So they probably played like they went against a high rank killer.
Point is, you can't blame the rank 4 for going against a lower ranked killer.
Nor can you blame them for using a key and offering, if anyone is to blame it's bhvr.
Are keys and the hatch a dumb game mechanic?
Yes absolutely, but you can't blame players for using what the game/devs gave them.

With crates and tampered timer, on a big map and your trap being in the last box you don't have enough time to search all boxes, unless you can go straight from box to box with not a single interruption.
Survived mothers dwelling a lot against pig.
With and without those add ons.
It is never guaranteed a kill with those add ons, not on big maps nor on small maps.
You don't want to know how many times my key is in the last box 😅
It is very rare for me to get it on the first try or anything before the last box.
If you hear her TR don't be scared and just risk it.
The only survivors who get headpops from it (no matter the add ons) are the ones who get scared when they hear her TR.
They suddenly go hide to see if they can spot where she is.
And by the time they realise she's chasing someone else, they have spent so much time that there is a great chance they get a headpop.
The worst thing that can happen is she goes for you.
But then the timer stops and when she leaves you alone, you are miles away and most likely close to a box with some extra time you got from the chase.
-
@Noz said:
Her dash is the fun part of her kit. The traps are unfun. If you want to reach red ranks without really trying always run tampered timer and crate of gears. Just play her as an m1 killer that gets at least one free kills from traps with this addon.
I hope they nerf her traps and trap addons into the ground so she can join clown and legion with her kill rates.
Honestly if you die by a head trap than the change is that you deserved it.
That is if she doesn't go after you crouching.
The only time I got a headpop (I believe it happened 2 times, at least no more than 5),was because I was to greedy.
Even with tempered timer and crates of gears I never got a headpop from it.
There is so much time to get it off your head before the timer reaches 0.
Even if you get it off on the last box, you still would have time to spare.
So i don't think there will be a nerf coming any time soon for these add ons

It was a last second switch, and they used it in my face. When it's obvious you are against a much lower skilled killer, why use it? It just seems, I don't know, rude?
Also, this is just one example, been seeing a LOT of these this past week.
They could have gone for the trophy/achievement to escape trough the hatch with all 4 survivors.
Maybe that's why they went for it anyways.
I've been playing since day 1 and still don't have it.
Tho i don't play for trophies, but if I get the opportunity to escape through the hatch with all 4 survivors, I'll take it.
