Yes, the power is OP and this is a not just about static blast, but the combination of all effects:

    1. He can stun you near the pallet, so you have to be really far away to pre-drop it. You literally cannot stun doctor unless he is rank 20.

    2. Madness 3: You do not need Sloppy Butcher to waste surv time when they mend; just with your basic ability.

    3. Static Blast works even better than Plague's "Infectious Fright". So, you have one more perk for free!

    4. Madness 3 reveals you when you scream

    5. Reverse skill check

    6. REVERSE SKILL CHECK ON DS... which is already difficult to hit

    7. "Illusionary Doctor" is a free BBQ and Chilly

Plus add here King and Queen addons...

    And now add 4 perks!

If you're having trouble with Reverse Skill Checks... You have more things to worry about than just Doctor.

I personally don't notice he has Reverse Skill Checks half the time because they don't change much.

  • I'm only talking about him because @Ravean brought him up

Ah, yet another 'Why <Killer I Don't Like> is Bad For The Game'

There must be a killer every week for these kinds of threads.

Waiting for the day Huntress becomes the topic of discussion.

  • @KingFrost said:

I'll probably never prestige because of this. I don't care about bloody clothes I'll never wear anyway. I'd rather have all my perks at rank 3.

But if you prestige right now, your perks will also vanish...

So I don't get your logic here.

  • If you're finding yourself getting tunneled, I suggest running Decisive Strike, Dead Hard and Unbreakable.

It can help you out of a jam or help extend a loop so the Killer might give up on you.

  • @Withered8 said:

Doc isn't bad for the game, freddy is. Doctors main power is detection along with a side anti loop which is very counterable. Freddy on the other hand has the powers of about five different killers: a free slowdown, insane antiloop, teleportation at will, reduced terror radius and shortened height. Also doc is good at flushing out all those immersed claudetess in the corners of the map.

Oh boy, let me correct you on this because I smell a load of BS:

    • "Free Slowdown"

No, no he does not have Free Slowdown. He needs to burn an add-on to get generator slowdown, and two of them only works if they are in the dream state. The Purple one also can be worse than the first two because it requires all 4 survivors to be asleep for it to work as effectively as possible.

    • Insane Anti-Loop

Once again, no. His snares are barely a problem. If you see him placing snares, it's your cue to start getting the heck out of there. And even then, I have a friend who is a Freddy main and he has been playing Freddy with the Kid's Drawing add-on which basically makes his snares useless. He still 4ks every game without the help of snares, so no, his snares aren't a problem. Your skill as a survivor is.

    • Reduced Terror Radius

I'll let it speak for itself:

    381210_20200511213933_1.png 381210_20200511213935_1.png
    • Shortened Height

The Pig, The Hag, The Legion, The Ghostface, The Spirit. Yeah no, he isn't the only one with Shortened Height, and the only reason it feels like that is because every other Killers are towering beasts (except the other 5)

Please don't derail this thread into another "Freddy is OP!!11!!!1!" thread, it gets tiring to see them when people are just clearly not as good as they think they are.

    Forgot one of your points:

    • Teleportation at Will

His teleport has a cooldown of roughly 60 seconds, faking a teleport gives him another cooldown of around 10 seconds. If he could teleport whenever then yeah, I agree he can be broken. But if his teleport incurs a LONG cooldown like this then it's relatively balanced. Not to mention SURVIVORS ARE GIVEN WARNING THAT HE IS TELEPORTING TO THEIR GENERATORS. So if you get hit after Freddy teleports knowing full well he is doing so it's 100% on you.

  • @Parazitul said:

I have one last question ! Does reverse bear trap kills the survivors ?

Yes, after a Generator is completed, they will turn on flashing red, this gives the Survivor a timer for how long they have before the RBT pops their head wide open.

An RBT takes 150 seconds before it explodes, meaning they have to get that thing off their heads and fast. This is why she is an amazing Stalling Killer, because they force a second objective onto the Survivors.

Edit: to add, an RBT will not tick down if the Survivor is in a chase or is downed.

  • @Peace said:

The only real problem i have with him, is that if in madness tier 3 you cant even get someone up from the ground, because you cant do any other action than to snap out of it. Maybe gens or totems work, but really not being able to heal is pretty hard. At least it happened in many many matches to me.

The static blast is ok in my opinion and the shock therapy, well he can spam it, but i am often able to get out of the shock area or can still throw down a pallett, because sometimes the scream is delayed. So its more like a gamble for the doc, if the scream comes in the right moment, or not.

With the add ons that create fake palletts, this is where it gets disgusting again. :D

He has literally been able to create Fake Pallets even before the rework, there's nothing "Disgusting" about that.

Sorry but this makes no sense. Freddy would have never existed in the first place if your theory would be true, because nobody would be in fear of a man who is no longer alive.

I guess you misinterpreted something. Freddy killed many people who didn´t even have a clue that there ever was a serial killer with the name Freddy Krueger... accoording to what you´re saying they would have to be in fear of him, but how can they even fear him when they never knew anything about him even about his pure existance. The logic is missing.

Hate to bring up Film Theory but... 4 minutes 15 seconds in

Where dod you come up with this ??? In the Movies he killed people that didn´t fear him because they weren´t even aware he existed... Can´t be afraid of something you don´t even know exists

Nightmare of Elm Street, the original, Nancy defeated him by just walking away from him not being afraid of him.

Freddy vs Jason, he is left powerless because people no longer feared him, so he needed Jason to start killing for people to start believing in Freddy again.

Why are you using myc on pig?

I assume because people tend to heal on the hook, so MYC tend to get the Pig easy downs since she can just crouch walk to the hook.

  • Out of everyone here, The Oni is the only one who actually has combat training.

Lets list off why all of the other killers will be smashed into bits by The Oni:

The Spirit - While her power to phase walk is useful against Survivors, it's not particularly useful when versing other killers in the game. Not to mention her shattered Katana wouldn't be much of a pain for the other Killers to deal with. In fact I think they can just tank the hit.

The Wraith - His only strength is his Bell, which he can use to turn invisible. Aside from that, he can't really do much. He cannot hit or attack his enemies while invisible, he has to come out of cloak for that. And given that The Oni is aware of his enemy's presense at all times given his training and his perks such as Zanshin Presense... Yeah, he is dead.

The Hillbilly - He may have his chainsaw, but aside from that he isn't much of a threat. His chainsaw requires him to rev it up before he can go for the kill, which isn't going to be a problem for a Killer like the Oni who can just basically take it off his hands and break it with his own bare fists. Point once again, goes to the Oni.

The Nurse - Her ability to blink may as well just be used to run away. Her body feels more fragile than the other killers given the fact it takes her quite a bit before she is able to choke a Survivor to death. Not to mention her figure as well as the inability to run away and just float. I can see the Oni breaking her whole body.

The Hag - Hahahahahaha no. She's a cannibal who literally looks like she is a wooden stick you can just break with your bare hands. Oni wins this by a long shot. Her weapon is literally her hands, and I doubt that'll be enough to go against The Oni and his armoured up body.

The Huntress - She may be able to stand a chance against the Oni, mainly because she primarily goes for range whilst the Oni primarily goes for melee. But I doubt she will last long if he can muster enough Blood Orbs for Blood Fury, her 110% movement speed isn't doing her any favours either.

The Deathslinger - The Redeemer can barely injure survivors unless he stuns himself, he is so dead when facing the Oni.

The Plague - May be able to weaken the Yamaoka Demon. But not for long. Considering wherever she is, there will be pools of devotion nearby, I doubt he will be too bothered by her ability to puke in his face.

  • She is a fun Killer to play.

Not necessarily OP, but her power, the RBTs basically works as a constant stall for the Survivors unless you get really unlucky with the RNG.

Her ambush is also great for mindgaming short and medium pallet loops.

If you think her playstylle sounds fun to you, go ahead and buy her.

  • I think this is only happening because of the camera on Billy being slightly more forward than what it usually is.

Also peeking in with it isn't particularly going to give the Killer much advantage imo.

I don't really need BP anymore, so if a ritual ruins the fun, I'd rather not do it.

Fair enough, I'm not as benevolent as you to entirely care about the fun of the other side. I also don't use Moris, but I don't go out of my way to make sure the game is fun for everyone. I'll still play as optimallly as I possibly can.

  • 60k BP is a pretty good tradeoff.

  • Double-Think

You're able to think with the capacity of two minds in one body, allowing you to be more cautious when around the Killer and around others. When you escape from the killer, earn 1 token to a maximum of 3.

Each time you enter a chase after that, press the Action Button to stop leaving scratchmarks for 3/4/5 seconds.

    Murder-Mystery Lover

Your love for Murder & Mysteries has unlocked potential in your aura-reading abilities. Gain the ability to track blood marks, the Killer's footsteps and other Survivor's Scratchmarks at a distance of 8/12/16 meters.

    Ambiverted

You work better alone, but you will work harder when caring for others. Increase Generator Repair speed by 10% when no Survivor is within 32/16/8 meters away from you, decrease Generator Repair Speed & increase healing, unhooking and mending by 10% when a Survivor is within 32/16/8 meters away from you.

A mystery novelist, using their skills and experiences to escape certain doom and tough to escape situations.

Their personal perks, Double-Think, Murder-Mystery Lover, and Ambiverted helps them use their experience to escape or avoid the Killer as well as find and help other survivors in need.

  • Plunderer's Instinct is a General Perk, which means no Survivor has the teachable. You already have it unlocked, you just need to have it appear in the Bloodweb.

  • Sometimes I will slug if I see someone else immediately. Keeps the pressure up and it will force all 4 survivors to be off of generators (Healing the downed Survivor, going for the hooked Survivor) Otherwise, it's on the hook you go!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/151927/does-anyone-know-any-extremely-strong-build-that-basically-guarantee-you-3-4-kills-any-killer

Just an opinion: there isn’t ANY killer build that guarantees 3-4 kills. Perks and add ons are just tools that offering varying amounts of strategy or surprise.

Its how the killer effectively uses these tools (and the skill/coordination) of the survivors that determine kill ratio.

There are certainly builds that helps with trivializing the basics (Like the build I just posted), but yes, no build guarantees as 3-4k if the killer themselves aren't skilled.

  • Since this question is for Killers over 1k Hours...

    2020-05-11 15_37_45-Steam.png

BBQ for Tracking is important. You'll want this to get into chases fast and quickly because you need to always be in chases and always downing people. If you can, try to make it a priority to make sure someone is always on a hook. Never give them time to fully recover and always put a fire under their ass to keep them panicking.

Save the Best for Last for ending chases faster is something you should consider. Especially with unsafe hook saves. STBFL can essentially give you 2 free downs with full stacks with an unsafe unhook, even better if your obsession dies and you have full stacks. You've essentially already won.

Pop Goes the Weasel is objectively the best slowdown perk. It also helps demoralize the other team because if they see you have Pop, they tend to get really annoyed (at least some of my friends whenever I play SWF gets REALLY annoyed whenever Pop comes into play, so far as to calling it "Pop Goes the Braincell")

And Surveillance for keeping tabs on Generators. Combined with Pop you can essentially halt the game and stopping Survivors from EVER feeling safe.

This build still heavily relies on you as a Killer to be good at chasing and have a strong sense of map awareness as well as game sense. It focuses on you getting into chases quickly, downing people quickly, and as a result of that, regressing generators quickly. And because you're regressing generators, you have free info on when Survivors will come back to work on the generators you kicked and damaged.

This build works on basically any Killer, doesn't matter who it is. Low Tier, High Tier. Doesn't matter. As long as you know how to play the game as a Killer, you should get consistently 3-4k with this build.

  • Make the maps to be incredibly small, as well as rework pallet tile spawns. If there is one thing that annoys me the most as a Killer and as a Survivor is the map size and how incredibly unfair some of the pallets can be. It's either incredibly safe or stupidly unsafe. There's rarely ever an in-between when it comes to pallet loops.

Rework essentially every perk in the game so they are worth taking regardless of the meta. Seriously, what good is Wake Up! and Territorial Imperative when Borrowed Time and NoeD exists?

Make Moris have the Kill prompt only activate when the Killer has hooked every Survivor at least once. I think this is fair considering you're kicking people out of the game with Moris. Only applies to Ebony though, Ivory and Cypress still works the same, since they're rather balanced.

Actually have matcmaking that matters (thankfully they are working on that with MMR).

I don't want to buff or nerf any Killer, because the reason they are weak or strong is mainly because the maps doesn't cater or heavily favours to their basekits. Literally every killer, as far as I can tell, is fine where they are at right now. And no, them being full to play or go against is not valid grounds to nerf or buff them. Someone out there likes to play as and against that killer, just because you don't doesn't mean they should be changed.

  • @snozer said:

Best thing you can do is not play killer. The lack of killers will eventually force their hand to do something, or kill the game .

I didn't get that impression, since he talked a lot earlier in the post about balancing equally for players of all skill levels, but @DelsKibara feel free to clarify. Regardless though, I must admit I'm a little confused as to how that pertains to my comment, since neither my nor OP's discussion of meta perks even mentioned player skill levels. The meta has nothing to do with how many people are using something or what their skill level is, it's about what the community as a whole generally considers the strongest builds or characters. All I was saying is that there will still be a meta regardless of which perks receive nerfs or buffs, or who is most affected by those changes, so rebalancing the game with the goal of removing the meta altogether is a lost cause.

And perk usage statistics are important if someone is suggesting that perks be balanced on that basis (as OP seemed to be). It doesn't matter that those stats span across all ranks and regions - in fact, it's better that they do, since such changes would affect all players, not just those at high ranks, so all of their experiences are relevant to the balance decisions being made.

I'm mainly talking about making perks seem more worth to use for specific playstyles.

Like rather than having the same 4 perks you see all the time in every match, add some variety to it that gives certain playstyles more options to explore.

Right now there's no reason to take perks like Cruel Limits because the usage of that perk is very minimal, and even then it's not going to synergize well with much other perks in the game.

Having the devs either buffing perks like that, or adding something more unique to it could spice up the perk selection for both sides.

Because right now, both as a Survivor and Killer I only realistically have 1 page full of useful perks with the rest being either garbage or way too mediocre to consider taking in place of the more obviously powerful ones.

  • No, there's a problem with vaulting right now, not just with Legion but with basically every Killer in the game if there is a drop after the vault.

As far as Temple of Purgation, that map's just forked up.

  • First time in ages I see an actual full roster of Rank 1 Survivors.

    Usually they're just Rank 2s.

Deathslinger, Oni would be a close second and honestly is probably better than Deathslinger tier-wise, however if you aren't using Yamoaka's Wrath effectively he is very much an m1 killer. Deathslinger has his ability and all the time and I don't know if you've heard this yet, but Deathslinger is much godd*mn fun to play

Seriously, winning or losing Deathslinger is something fun and unique in Dead By Daylight. Oni is just a mix of a bunch of older killer powers wrapped into one, he's like if you threw Hillbilly, Michael Myers, and Leatherface into a blender. Don't get me wrong, Oni is super cool and that's why I say he's a close second.. but he's not exactly unique (gameplay wise, he's certainly super cool and unique lore-wise) and he doesn't introduce anything new to Dead By Daylight. You could honestly play Billy for a similar experience.

Demogorgon is a dead last, he's really balanced and somewhat viable, people like him because of Stranger Things, but if I'm going to be entirely honest with you I have not seen a demogorgon in #########' months. It's like the don't exist, I don't know what it is but Demogorgon is one of the least picked killers in Dead By Daylight, and there's certainly gotta be a reason for that.

Oh boy, hope I meet up with you with my Demogorgon then.

It doesn't affect your gameplay, and if your computer isn't strong enough to handle it, then your computer isn't suited enough for modern gaming anyways. That got me thinking, did they bump up the percentages of the reworked maps? Because it sure sounds like it.

  • It's not.

It's just something that tends to happen.

  • While I am always an advocate for just eating the stun as a Killer.

I do agree that yes, Decisive Strike is rather controversial and needs to be looked at.

  • I will just say.

A survivor with a Flashlight is a lot more useless than a Survivor with no Flashlight.

Because they will be tempted to use that flashlight on you, try to go for saves, or waste it with pallet blinds (use your ears).

So if Survivors switch at the last second, you're effectively getting a better match compared to if they brought a key, medkit or toolbox

  • It's certainly much more balanced than before, it used to be a trainwreck.

    But, it can be better.

  • Been purposefully playing low tier Killers lately.

It's been fun a majority of times, but good god is it sometimes annoying getting those survivors who are cocky sometimes.

you don't answer because you know i am right and you can't counterargue me you are just using them as a strawman to avoid this argument that you have already lost , even if i didnt called doc and freddy OP it doenst change the fact that wasting pallets by early dropping them is never bad for any killer and always a soft throw from survivors

if anything deathslinger forcing survivors to waste their ressources because you can't loop him and being almost a stealth killer with monitor is too strong and need a nerf

You know who thinks killers like Doc and Freddy are OP?

People who aren't good at looping them, or looping killers in general.

They're both very much still reliant on their chase skills, as their powers do nothing to help them get downs and kills. Deathslinger still requires you to be actually good at aiming, something most people actually aren't good at.

I'm sorry but you're very much in the wrong, git gud. I mean it. I'm sick of bad survivors muddying the matchmaking thinking the killer they are versing are overpowered when in reality it's just their own skill that's gone down.

Yes, that is what I mean when I say it's intended.

I think the co-op repair colour trumps Prove Thyself.

  • @PigNRun said:

Unnerving no longer affects DS. It got changed after DS got reworked.

    Ah. Well that sucks.

  • Pretty sure it's intended. If you're working at a generator with another Survivor, the both of you are given a penalty to your repair effectiveness so instead of 1 charge per tick (a tick being 1 second and a generator takes 80 charges to complete), it becomes 0.85 charges/s with 2 survivors, 0.7 with 3, and 0.55 with all 4. So that is why they show up as Red. Because you are slowed down when repairing the generator together.

  • @Aneurysm said:

There is still a perk that ~kinda~ counters DS, unless they changed it too: unnerving presence. I've missed DS before because I forget it affects that skillcheck too + I wasn't prepared (also bc I'm boosted)
