  • I honestly just love the gameplay loop.

Especially as Killer, it never fails to make killing feel satisfying.

Oh my god why do people still believe this?

We just need double bloodpoints base or to remove perk tiers. The current system was created around three killers and four survivors, not nineteen killers and twenty-one survivors. Now leveling everyone up without BBQ/WGLF takes an eternity.

Just to do the math because I feel like it:

To take a character from Level 1 to 50 requires roughly around 1.750.000 Bloodpoints. Times that 3 times if you want to prestige the character, then there is a minimum of 5.250.000 Bloodpoints just to Prestige 3 Level 50 ONE CHARACTER. In total, there are currently 39 Characters for both Survivors and Killers. Meaning if you want to Prestige 3 Level 50 all of them, you need 204.570.000 Bloodpoints AT A MINIMUM (This is assuming you get are incredibly efficient with your Bloodwebs.

AND NOT ONLY THAT, if you want to get every perk in the game, you need roughly around 35.000.000 Bloodpoints. So, 1.750.000 away from the initial levelling and you still need 33.250.000 Bloodpoints to get every perk in the game on a single character. Which means you need to accumulate AT MINIMUM 1.296.750.000 Bloodpoints alongside the 204 million you need to Prestige 3 Level 50 every character in the game AND THAT IS IF YOU ARE BEING AS EFFICIENT AS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR BLOODWEB GRINDING.

Eternity is putting it mildly. Because this number can make BBQ and WGLF seem MANDATORY to some.

  • Honestly with how people tend to play with DS all the time, this should be an easy challenge to nab.

I get 2 or 4 survivors to do that to me every couple of games.

  • I can tell you now, Deadly Fury will be meta.

Primarily because survivors tend to finish gens in front of the killer's face. Especially if they are overconfident.

  • The Legion's, ironic considering most people would think their DLC was the worst DLC BHVR ever put out.

  • Played her a lot, she is a load of fun to play if you actually are good at the game because her RBTs is such a threat yet no one seems to think it is.

  • Why are you making a thread that puts focus on those made up rules?

Like you said, just play the game, have fun, so why do you care about it enough to make a thread about it?

I actually miss the old Freddy. As someone else said, if they combined his clocks with his old power and gave him some QoL changes and maybe some extra effects at end game to enforce him as an end game threat (his perks highlight this), he could have been very solid. Now he's just a mish mash of existing mechanics and while he is strong, he's not as fun and interactive as he used to be, even if he was difficult to master. Teleporting = Hag/Demogorgon, fake pallets = Doctor, semi stealth, blood pools = Clown. He's just not as original as he was.

They should totally hold a community poll to see what people would prefer, the old Freddy but with QoL changes and buffs, or keep Freddy as he is.

    No. NO NO.

As much as I'd like to see Old Freddy back, they should NEVER hold a community poll about changes to the game. EVER.

This community, while it can sometimes make some nice suggestions that should be added into the game, SHOULD NOT be able to choose what gets to be changed in the game. That would be the worst thing that the devs could ever do.

  • Both sides.

Though I favour Killer a bit more because Survivor can get rather dull.

  • Just to play Devil's Advocate a bit:

Sometimes a well organized Solo Team can be as good as an SWF team.

With that said, people tend to lie that they are not a part of a SWF Team because they wouldn't want to be targetted in any future games if they were to play alone, because people do make lists and people do remember your username especially on console. Meaning they don't want to seem like they were playing SWF to avoid playing against Killers who has massive issues with survivors who play SWF.

Which you can easily do with killers like Wraith and Ghostface btw.

  • This would be hilarious but I am pretty sure this would only lead to more toxicity knowing this community.

  • Can't win them all I guess, there are just some maps that are better or worse for either side when it comes to RNG.

  • If it's someone who is being toxic to me, yeah.

There are people like that, but they aren't common. At least in my Region.

dude just stop with this narrative. its just stupid to say that people "don want to learn" to play against a certain killer. if there was something to do, survivors would have already discovered it, because its what they WANT. the problem is that there is literally nothing you can do versus a very good spirit, and thats a fact. bad spirits are totally counterable, but just because they're bad.

    Yeah, that's just quitter's tallk

"There's nothing I can do with a good player."

Then get better. Unless you're admitting you're at the ceiling of your skill and because you keep losing to these specific killers, you're not willling to try to get any better and rather see those killers nerfed.

  • Oh boy, I remembered going through this loop before it got changed.

That was legitimately the worst time I had playing as Killer.

It is genuinely not as bad as it used to be though.

I like chases, don't get me wrong. I just feel Freddy is extremely boring in chases. because it's the same thing I'd be doing if I were playing practically anyone else. I much prefer killers like Legion or Spirit(even though Spirit's still kinda OP honestly imo). I would like Nurse as well, if she wasn't a buggy mess right now and I could play her. Myers is probably my favorite killer, either him or Legion. There's just so much you can do with Myers. I'm never playing the exact same game.

Again, that is where we disagree. I think he is fine as is with his chases, I main Spirit as well. And I don't particularly play Freddy well.

That's why I said you find him boring, but me and the people I know don't.

True but if that player dies they can just take the key, yes there is an addon that takes it with you when you die but most swf's dont use it

Yes but a key is not exactly going to be easy to spot, even if it's a SWF. And by then you can just continue to put the pressure up and constantly keep putting people on hooks so they have other things to worry about.

  • Sorry but does anyone realize that the Spirit is a female? She's not a male.

But then they complain about being tunneled its a lose, lose. Keys shouldnt be in the game an neither should moris

If Survivors complain about being tunneled let them complain.

The most optimal thing to do is focus on removing the key user from the game as well as keeping the pressure up on the other survivors. At that point, you shouldn't be expected to play fair when they have a survivor that can end the game if they found the hatch.

Never did the math my self but holy ######### that's a lot. If they did do the 20% off per prestige idea it'd cut it down to only 12 mil (assuming you P3 the character).

I've done that with Zarina & Spirit and yes it took quite a lot.

I don't think everyone disagrees with me, either though, as there was a post not too long ago asking why many people called Freddy boring. I will say a lot of complaints on that topic were more about how strong he was, with some killer biased snarky remarks sprinkled in as well, but I'm sure others shared my sentiments.

As for where we disagree? Where exactly? Me saying that you could literally be playing anyone else and you'd basically be playing Freddy? Or where I said all the passive stuff did most of the work for him? Because you said yourself, "He is as pure of an M1 killer as it gets. Sure he has snares and pallets but if survivors stay awake then that'll be an issue for him", which is basically agreeing with my statement. You have even said that his snares aren't even that important, in which case he's literally just going to chase people around and slap them, just like any other killer would. Not sure where exactly we disagree. The only thing I can guess would be that purely chasing with nothing else is boring.

Yes that's where I disagree he is boring, because I do think that's the meat of it, the chase is what makes this game fun to play.

Like I play Pig a lot, and I don't always use my ambush and I purely play her for the chase and her RBTs to stall. And I think Freddy is the same as that. His powers are just different.

  • As the killer, it's on you for not being able to down the survivor with the key before going after everyone else.

You should always consider them top priority.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1272121#Comment_1272121

Isn't that the point? You could play literally anyone else and you would basically be playing Freddy. All the passive stuff does most of the work for him. That's more or less what I was saying, and why I consider him boring.

    That's where we disagree then.

I think Freddy is fine where he is right now, if you find him boring, sure, but that's just you. But I doubt everyone shares your opinion on that. I honestly prefer to face him over everyone else when I do play Survivor because I do know it's not a slamdunk win for me.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1272104#Comment_1272104

You only need 2 snares per pallet to make them force a drop and be practically unable to loop it normally. Honestly the fact that the puddles are the same looking could just trick someone into dropping a pallet early. I also forgot to mention the free omnidirectional terror radius when asleep. He's just full of a bunch of things that just make him a better killer without really doing anything to separate him from anyone else really. I do agree survivors are idiots a lot of the time, but Freddy doesn't necessarily have anything that expresses his skill, unless you count "placement of puddles" as expression of skill. There's no real need to THINK about where you place them because you don't lose movement speed for doing so, you can just place as many of them as you want in a chase pretty much without even thinking. I dunno, these are just my feelings(although really there isn't anything to think about in terms of skill expressiveness).

I personally think Freddy is as pure of an M1 Killer as it gets. Sure he has his snares/pallets but if he is versing Survivors who actually knows to stay awake, then that's going to be an issue for him. I think he is the one killer whose powers are relatively useless in a chase. I disagree with anyone that his snares are powerful (I think Pallets are because I keep getting tricked by them), but his teleportation certainly makes up for that.

But when he is in a chase though, it's his chase skill versus the survivor. If you're bad at chasing then you're bad at Freddy, simple as that. I think Survivors just makes the drasticly wrong decision to either not wake up half the time or avoid red pools like the plague when really they're not going to be that detrimental. I've rarely gone down to a Freddy with snares. You can still fast vault windows whille snared by the way, just in case you wanna mention that.

If he's wearing tactical gloves, it's possible, but they look very much like ordinary leather. They have a bit of padding in parts, but even so, that's not likely to be a good defense against a tactical knife (which is what Ghostface uses - unlike a kitchen knife, it's razor-sharp and designed for inflicting lethal wounds).

I'm pretty certain given his attire they are tactical gloves, considering his other equipment like his knife belt are rather tactical. Though he may not have bought it, more so stole it from his victims.

I enjoyed the Nightmare on Elm Street movies myself. Freddy is one of my favorite slashers. As for escaping vs Freddy, I don't have much of a problem, but his entire skillset is literally passive. Your friend likely isn't doing anything that any other Freddy wouldn't think of doing, that's why I said the traps might as well place themselves. It just forces an early pallet drop. The micro sleep isn't the only thing passive about him. He passively gets increased teleport speed for every asleep survivor, the micro sleep is literally the best thing in his kit against people who think they should wake themselves up. His addons as well, completely passive, outside of the one you just mentioned and his pallet ones. As for winning while using the addon that gives extra BP, I'm not surprised. I have a build that can make it where I don't even have to place puddles to win as long as my totems aren't broken too early. It's basically Forever Freddy V2, but far worse, it's one of the "cool builds" I thought up, but it again, just basically plays the game for me.

Nah I don't think he was running any buillds that had slowdown in it except with Pop. I think he told me his build was built around the chases more than that. Also, I'm pretty sure most people's complaints about Freddy is that he "Snares spams", meaning yes I'm pretty sure he is doing something other Freddy's aren't doing.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1272069#Comment_1272069

How is he not boring? The only people who I think could possibly love playing new Freddy are people who play purely to win. There's nothing fun about actually playing him, as all of his abilities are passive bonuses, even his blood pools are pretty passive. They might as well place themselves.

Well, I know my friend who constantly plays him is the competitive type. But he doesn't dominate with just Freddy, he can do the same with Clown, Legion or any other low tier killer. Also he is a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street series of movies so that might have something to do with it.

I disagree with all his abilities being passive bonuses though, the only thing passive is his micro sleep mechanic. Everything else still requires him to have input on it. Going back to my friend I mentioned though, he has been playing Freddy with Kid's Drawing add-ons, you know, the one add-on that makes snares effectively worthless to use and he still 4ks with it.

I think what he is trying to say is Snares aren't a problem, general survivor skills are. Because I am seeing it myself in Rank 1, literally no one seems to know how to run a loop and we both agree there's an issue of skillgaps. Freddy just makes that much more clear. Which is why a lot of people here are complaining about him, because they cannot counter him the same way they countered every other killer.

And about him being dull and boring, that's just your opinion, not counting the friend I mentioned, but I am in a server where a lot of people like playing as Freddy because they think he is fun. They're not even the type to play to win, just actually enjoys the killer themselves.

People were actually lamenting his loss before his rework even began, yet it was the most asked for thing on the DBD forums pretty much.

Honestly I think he needs another rework personally. He's far too dull to play now.

    I doubt that is happening.

A lot of people still love to play Reworked Freddy, I think the issue is a lot of people take their own personal experiences and think that is what should be changed for the game.

I’d be fine with this, but I’d personally prefer a 20% cost decrease for bloodwebs per prestige. So at P3 everything would be 60% cheaper and you waste less points leveling a character you already put so much time into.

Look I know P3-ing someone is far easier than it used to be, but with how many perks we have now; it takes ######### FOREVER to max out ONE character (and that doesn’t even count item and addons).

Last I checked it takes arounr 30 million BP To get every Perk in the game on one character

You have to aim his bottles reload them on and on and on. But freddy you can just place them with ease. I'm just saying a killer shouldn't have the s ame ability as a different killer. And yeah bubba needs a buff and way better addons.

Nah, he is fun to play as and can be viable at any ranks (Rainbow ranks because they were a SWF, their ingame actions kinda made me suspicious of that and this just confirms it)

Tbh, I don't agree his add-ons needs changing. They're fine where they are right now. All of them help him out in some way, especially the exhaustion add-ons.

  • I honestly would make him not slowdown when throwing bottles, and increase his reload speed as well as movement speed when reloading his bottles.

That way he would get more milage out of his bottles and they aren't a detriment to him using it.
