  • The grind is bad enough, we don't need more prestiges for every character.

  • Honestly, has it gotten so bad that your opponents now aren't willing to just simply say "GG" if you win? Like do they just immediately leave after you escape or after you kill them?

It's not even the "GG EZ" crowd that honestly needs a better hobby than being a horrible person, just that everyone seems to no longer have the courtesy to say gg at the end of the game.

I'm not sure what the devs could do about it. Jerks are gonna jerk. You can report if they are going over the line but if someone is just calling you a tunneling noob killer, I'm not sure that something that should be punished...

All you can do as a user is either shrug it off or take steps to stop messages (turn off post game chat if you're on PC, block messages from people who are not friends on Xbox/PS4, etc).

It absolutely sucks because you shouldn't have to put up with garbage people being garbage but as long as garbage people are playing, they're gonna be garbage people and you just have to either get used to the smell or take steps to prevent the garbage from being able to stink up the place.

It's a shame because that garbage attitude tends to leak over to other venues like the Dev's twitter, twitch streams and even this forum.

Wish we can just play the game, but sadly that's just not things are for some people.

  • Sometimes there are days where I just feel like playing for myself and not caring what the other side has to say.

This game does get to you, that way, with how toxic the community can actually be.

I suggest taking a break if it's becoming overwhelming for you, people who say you need to "Grow Up" probably doesn't realize that abuse like these are actually uncommon in the real world. Only in places where you can be anonymous like this forum and ingame. No one should take in the abuse of others for playing a game for their own entertainment.

The real question is, "Why can Demo be blinded at all?"

    Someone look into this, please.

Actually I think it's because he sees using light sources.

I haven't watched Stranger Things but that's what I read about at least.

So if he gets blinded it's because there's too much light at his face?

He literally got blinded while being stunned. Try blinding a spirit/hag WHILE SHE IS BREAKING a pallet. You can't,literally. It isn't possible. Find a vid in which someone starts blinding right when the killer starts breaking.

You know what? It's not worth it to prove something that you can do yourself ingame.

Believe me or not, because I'm not putting in the work to prove something you should know by just playing the game.

I'm still standing with my point, but the realization dawned on me that I am wasting time shifting through videos to prove something to someone who probably don't want their minds changed.

Hag animation is a lot different than spirit.

And since you dont want to bring any proof than I can already ignore you.

And this vid is before spirit patch?

I hate bringing up Tru3 but here

So yes, it's just you as a player, not the Spirit themselves.

And how do we know you were breaking a pallet?

    Show us a video proof?

Do you want me to just contiuously play games as Spirit until I play with Survivors who knows how to blind her?

Yeah no, I'm not doing that.

But, since the Hag and Spirit are similar in terms of having different animations, and you seem to value the opinions of content creators highly over your own experiences. Here's Paulie showing you how to blind Hag:

  • And to add that Spirit can be blinded on pallets:

Nah bruh, I have tried a lot of time to find that sweet angle and there isn't, once spirit looks up she already has character movement and she can easily press M1 + W and hit you.

And how do you know im angry? damn this doesn't prove nothing, and if you srsly just are in the forum to prove if people are angry or not, than you're life is... pretty interesting...

    Here's a video proof:

    https://youtu.be/b6PTTyUHM2Q?t=761

He even said "oh you can't blind spirit on pallets"

The fact that you're using someone elses video and opinions kinda makes me doubt you tried to actually blind the Spirit yourself.

I've played a lot of Spirit, she definitely can be blinded. I've even been blinded to the point where it bugged and kept me blinded for the rest of the game. So it's more to do so with you as a player rather than Spirit as a Killer.

  • I've been playing him a ton. I used to think he was weak but that was mainly because I didn't understand how to play as him, and I thought his setup time took way too long. God, was I wrong.

His activated portals can really help with defend crucial generators, hex totems or even placed in surprise locations survivors aren't aware of. I find myself keeping a 3-gen every single time I play Demogorgon, because he is amazing at camping a 3-gen.

His shred is also amazing at keeping STBFL stacks. You basically can just say "F U" to the Obsession taking away your stacks while using the shred. It's glorious.

    That is a stupid argument.

Every killer is supposed to be blindable cause they're on the entity realm, why can't spirit and hag be blind on pallets?

They can, you just need to blind them earlier than other Killers.

Also "That is a stupid argument" is kinda proving the point of my other thread where people will just get angry and mad at everything because different killers requires different ways of you dealing with them.

  • Oh my f-ing God.

People, Freddy has the same lunge as everyone. It has been confirmed and stated by the devs over and over again.

He just looks like he has a longer lunge because he is shorter and his attack animation is different to everyone else.

I completely agree with your points @DelsKibara . If things in the game require skill and practice to pull off it's only natural to expect to be rewarded for it - I actually feel that the game is pretty good at doing that.

I do think you're missing one part of the story though. If you did cover it, i'm sorry - I have the attention span of a goldfish. The reason some people don't like specific killers/perks etc etc isn't because you can't counter or outplay them, but it's because they force a playstyle that those people don't personally enjoy. Let's take Deathslinger for example:

In terms of overall potential to win I think he strikes the perfect balance between strengths and weaknesses. If you've put in enough practice you can go for incredible shots that feel extremely satisfying to land and could have a huge impact on the game. At the same time there are plenty of counters from the survivor side - split up and do gens on your own, play more immersed and so on. Both parties have a decent chance of winning the game. The issue is that as you've mentioned, people play this game to have fun and different people find different things fun. A survivor who loves running loops around pallets will need to change their behaviour during a chase (and focus more on mindgames around LOS blockers) if they want to last more than 10-15 seconds against Deathslinger. Even if they're able to pull it off and win that doesn't necessarily guarantee that they had fun, because they didn't get to do what they enjoy in playing dbd - i.e. running around pallets.

With that said - I do understand where some people come from when they complain about certain things. It's not always that you can't outplay something, but rather that you're just bored playing against it. That's why people complain about clown - he's definitely not strong, but his seizure inducing bottles are extremely obnoxious. However, this is a massive game with so many different elements to it that you can't realistically expect to enjoy every single match you play, so I don't think these things should be changed based on that feedback - for every player that hates playing against deathslinger there are 10 blendettes that revel in the idea of playing hide and seek and doing generators for 10 minutes.

I've made this a lot longer than intended. Just wanted to say that to understand some of the complaints you need to consider the fact that even if they can easily win against something, people will still complain about it if it annoys them. Because you can't really build a strong case to change something just based on the fact that it annoys you, said people will try to find other reasons to justify wanting to get rid of it - e.g. "it is op", "it is uncounterable", "it is oppresive" and so on

I agree, just because there is one or two aspect about the game you personally dislike, doesn't mean it needs to be changed.

For example, I honestly dislike going against Hag and Trapper. I don't like to be paranoid at where I walk, I don't like to be jumpscared. But I don't make complaints against them just because they have to force me to change my playstyle. Their power works fairly well for what it is, and a player who is good at playing them definitely deserves the kills they gained from that game.

I think you misspelled Rotten Fields.

  • I never find myself easily escaping Sanctum of Wrath.

It's one of those kinds of maps that are just hard for reasons that aren't clear.

  • I think the fact that it's not long, requires you to stand still (meaning you can't activate it during a chase) and it forces you to be downed first and look through chests makes this a rather fun and interesting idea.

Would like to see this implemented somehow.

  • Oh boy, you're treading on haunted grounds with making this thread.

With that said, although I don't play Freddy, I know someone who actively plays him. His build is:

Save The Best for Last, BBQ, Pop Goes the Weasel and Surveillance/Discordance (You can swap however you like).

Really the main thing you need to worry about with this build is just to constantly use your teleport, he even told me that using snares is unnecessary and it's better to just teleport all around the map to keep Survivors on their toes as well as keep them guessing where you're coming from next and when you're actually coming rather than faking your teleport.

STBFL is used to end chases quicker, faster, so you can get Pop faster, which gives you information with BBQ (if the Survivors are not playing it smart and hiding in Lockers), which you can then use to immediately kick the generator after teleporting to use said Pop as well as mark that generator with Surveillance. At least that's what he told me.

Thing is, you still need to be a good killer to use this build. Mainly because it relies on you using your teleportation constantly, so you need to keep Survivors asleep, you need to sometimes commit hit and runs to make sure everyone is still inside the dream state. Abandoning some chases all together. You also need to end chases fast because your only gen regression perk is Pop Goes the Weasel, which only procs if you hook a survivor.

So it's more of an aggressive Freddy Build, definitely something you put up when you don't want to use snares or pallets and just his teleportation and your skills as a killer to chase the survivor down.

  • Tier 20.

Honestly I plan on just playing DBD for the remainder of the Rift, so it shouldn't be hard for me to get to Tier 70

  • I always try to find a reason to run it, but while it is underrated, it's just not as useful as Borrowed Time. At least with Borrowed you're guaranteed to get a Safe Unhook if the killer is nearby.

Next time you want to try to lie to us you may want to make sure your player level doesn't go from 82 to 84 in your 4k screenshots and claim these are back to back games -- cuz you know -- that would be impossible to do. 😅

    Nice try.

What, you want me to show you my collection of 4ks from recent games? With a more "consistent" player level. Alright.

You know? It's somewhat refreshing to hear someone call him trash.

Good on you, have an upvote.

  • Yep, just got it three times in a row.

    1. Basically ignoring every other Survivor on the map to make sure one Survivor is dead. Even if it makes no sense and will most likely lead you to lose the game.
    2. Because there's a surplus of Survivors but not enough people are playing Killer. Killer queues are instant btw.
  • I will usually let the last person go if everyone who played that game was playing fair and didn't do anything to hinder their team or attempt to annoy me as a killer.

While it would be nice to be happy and nice to your fellow players, sometimes it's just not in the cards. Some people just want to be toxic, and you have to teach them what it feels like to lose badly.

By toxic I mean doing stuff that actively annoy the Killer, actively sandbagging their teammates.

Flashlight clicking isn't toxic, teabagging to get the killer's attention isn't toxic.

Teabagging after a pallet drop and teabagging at the exit gate is, however, in my books.

As long as the intent is to PLAY THE GAME, then it's not toxic.

  • @MegMain98 said:

Freddy is the exact same killer as Clown, just that he can teleport. I never understand people who bash Clown saying that he’s boring but still like Freddy

Ironically I've been playing a lot of Clown.

While yes he is still technically the weakest killer in the game, people grossly underestimate how powerful he can be with the right Killer playing him.

  • Why do people think Freddy's lunge is longer than anyone elses?

    It's literally the same.

  • I remembered when some people trashed the rework, saying they "Ruined" Freddy.

Funny how that works out, huh?

By all means I prefer Old Freddy, but Old Freddy was weak for a reason. New Freddy is strong but he still requires you to be a good killer in general to play well.

He definitely has a more straightforward to understand power compared to a killer like Demogorgon or Hag for example.

He is a killer you can easily pick up, but not necessarily master unless, as I said before, you're actually a good killer in the first place.

But hey, isn't this just how it usually is? Some players find a killer boring, they then complain about it nonstop until the devs do something about it.

It happened with Spirit and Nurse, now it's Freddy and Deathslinger. I still find it funny people think a Killer who is only as good as the player is a bad thing.

Kinda shows the kind of players you're dealing with when a mid tier killer is deemed "OP" or "Boring"

  • The EGC is to prevent Survivors from just hiding from the killer because they want them to look around for them, to spite them to not get a 4k.

That's why closing the hatch triggers the EGC.

You still have a chance to escape via the gates or, like you said, if you brought a key.

  • Pretty much any game where I'm playing a killer that doesn't have stealth capabilities and the Survivor team has someone with Object.

Whenever I beat those teams I tend to wish I recorded the match.

  • I think because of the nature of the asymmetrical game that DBD is, it's more like a taking and giving system for "Fun".

If the Killer is doing well, the Survivors are most likely not going to enjoy the match as much if they are doing well.

If one side snowballs, it's more fun for that side.

It's why I've been playing more killer recently, because I'd rather set my own fun rather than have my teammates ruin it for me

  • ... it's just 800 points.

    It's not a lot.

It is literally inconsequential, you can get way more by the time you get to your next match.

It's such an odd decision though because you can still change your loadout/characters or leave the lobby from the 15th second till the 6th second.

Yeah I don't know why either.

I wish they removed it and made everyone ready either at 5 seconds or 15 seconds.I honestly just hate waiting for everyone to ready up.

  • I think at 15 seconds, the game is locking you in whether you are ready or not.

So it's a pre-ready to the actual "ready"

  • Wraith has a slow uncloack?

No he didn't earn it. He is asking for handouts. It is called an "achievement" not a "give me give me".

    1) Devs can't change achievements on consoles unless they change something in the game that makes the achievement impossible. It's against PS/Xbox TOS. So unless they change something about Myers or his add-ons, this achievement will not change either.

    2) It is ENTIRELY DOABLE. Plenty of people have done it. Just keep trying. Eventually you will get 4 potatoes that you can easily stalk and tombstone. With the way matchmaking puts red ranks again rank 18 it's just a matter of time.

    3) If he refuses to kill you then that's his problem not yours. I die on my own terms. I'm not giving out freebies.

    4) Them sitting there waiting for you to give them something they don't deserve is way more toxic than anything else. And again, if they want to try to pull some stupid move to get you that gives you a chance to escape.

    5) "At that point you're no longer playing the game, you're just actively ruining the person's mood for wanting to attempt for the Evil Incarnate achievement." Not my problem if you only play games for achievements. I have 3k hours in this game but only like half the achievements. I only have maybe 4 or 5 adepts, because I don't play games for achievements. Again, you problem if you are desperate for the achievement, not mine.

So basically, what you're saying is.

Screw anyone who wants to have any sense of accomplishment in this game? Because that is basically what you are saying with that last sentence.

You can go ahead and act like that if you want, I'll gladly give myself up to Myers if it's obvious they are going for Evil Incarnate, because it is one of the more frustrating achievements to actively grind for (it's literally the luck of the draw with getting 4 potatoes, as you said).

Why? Because I'd rather them having fun and getting the achievement that they have probably grinded for hours for, and seeing a Survivor who would willingly help them out with this achievement. And getting it over with. Finally having it in their collection, and finally putting that whole fiasco to rest.

Because as an achievement hunter myself, I understand the pains and frustrations, as well as the mental gymnastics you have to jump through to get achievements as BS as Evil Incarnate. I wouldn't want anyone to have something like this constantly locked and bugging them because they always feel like they're just so close, if not for that one survivor, if not for that one #########.

I will always remember the moment I got Evil Incarnate myself. It was in Haddonfield, it was a SWF and they were obviously not going to make it easy for me. But they were also being fair about it. They didn't go into lockers, they didn't actively sabotage my attempts at the achievement. Hell they were playing how you would expect a SWF team to play, but they understood that I was going for the achievement first and foremost and wanted me to work for it. But not frustrate me with it.

    381210_20190130175649_1 - Copy.png

And it felt satisfying, it felt great. (This was way WAY before hatch closing was even a thing).

It feels great when you got an achievement, an acknowledgement from the devs that you beat their own challenge that they designed and you got it against opponents who fairly played with you.

Of course, that's just my take as someone who actively hunts achievements. Hell, achievement hunting is how I realized that Clown and Plague are not as bad as people make them to be. They can help me actively get 4ks even in Rank 1.

So while you don't hunt for achievements, I really would love for you to not downplay those who take upon the challenges the devs made for the game and attempt to finish them.

They're achievements for a reason, let people celebrate them when they do get it, and if they are attempting it, don't actively sabotage them knowing they are going for it. That's just again, a dick move. It's not countering anything, you're just doing it because you know they are going for it and the only way out is with a frustrated player and no one winning in the end. Just a bad ending for everyone all around.

    You.

    Did.

    Not.

    Earn.

    It.

Stop asking for handouts. Plenty of people have this achievement. I would have had it MY FIRST TRY but I purposely let the Adam go because he was in a previous game where I was Trapper and sort of tunneled him and felt bad.

It's not that hard to get.

Jeez, why are you so uptight about this?

All he is asking was for the achievement to be made more possible, and less frustrating.

Going into a locker just to spite the killer is just a dick move, by then he already killed 3 of his teammates, and there was one person left. By all accounts he has "earned it". But by going into the locker and not doing anything until the EGC timer runs out, you're just spiting them despite knowing you will lose, you will die, you won't get points, etc etc.

At that point you're no longer playing the game, you're just actively ruining the person's mood for wanting to attempt for the Evil Incarnate achievement.
