Gates open, can't pick them up because of a guarenteed wiggle, can't leave them on the ground because they'll just crawl out. What do you propose he do?

Killer got outplayed usually in that situation teammates took hits or saboed hooks so killer does not deserve the kill after big missplay.

As long as I'm not risking myself, I'll play as if they're a normal survivor. It can generally be beneficial to have another survivor (especially one that's going to mess up a lot) to serve as a distraction later in the game.

Meanwhile my friend looped killer 10 minutes while bot was afraid to do gens.

  • No I tunnel bots out quick as possible. Why would I let it fix gens? I don't feel bad for bot it's not human. I only have moral code for human survivors not to camp/tunnel unneccessarily which even then I don't always follow.

Bro better be wandering the map

Yeah I would pet and follow her.

  • Maybe they could change it to work ramdomly 2 times sometimes you would get it first chase sometimes not. Would bit buff it and get some more people to use it as I see no-one using anymore.

Feng should be banned from costume collections for a year. She has a lot costumes but yet, she is getting costume in almost every update.

But sadly she is moneymaker for BHVR 😭

No feng need more cosmetics most of them are lame and she is one of the only survivor without christmas cosmetics.

People really need to stop focusing on the number of gens left when they complain about tunneling and camping as it's irrelevant.

Ultimately if a killer decides their best play is to camp, they will camp.

Also the statement that "other people are trying to play the game" is also irrelevant. The killer is trying to play the game too. It's not their job to make sure that survivors get to play in the exact way they want to play.

No the number of gens matters the most if camping can be considered fair play. Less than 3 gens left camping is always fair play as killer need kills at that point. Before that fair play often is to try to kill normal way. 4-5 gens left camping is often unneccary unless it's sweaty swf. Camping at 3 gens bit debends. Fair or unfair that what should matter when viewing camping.

The thread got taken down, but someone posted if they see two or more toolboxes they automatically dodge. Among many many other reasons they dodge repeatedly. Like 9 times or more in a row. Just imagine what that does to the matchmaking.

Now given medlits and healing both are nurfed, and keys & flashlights are still poop, survs are going to bring more and more toolboxes as the current best option.

Yeah I know the guy but to fix that they could do that mmr is priorisited over queque time if you constantly dodge or even limit amount you can dodge.

  • Hope killer let's you get it try to point gen if they try to give you hatch. Other than probably solo survivor perk could help so run that.

There have been people both on here, on Xbox, on Twitter and on Reddit who have all said they dodge if they see items or "think it's a SWF"

That certainly still more rare. Happens usually if it's 4 toolboxes or 4 same skins. But every survivor bring items so other than that is not smart to dodge.

  • Just option to hide prestiges would be enough. Most dodges happen because killers see high prestige squad. Or survivor see low prestiges and dodge because they think they are not as good teammates as high prestiges.

I logged into the Dead By Daylight today and my first match was a Skull Merchant trying to hold a 3-gen. I assume this is thanks to the video that Hens put up on YouTube. Behavior, what are you going to do about this killer? I stayed in this match for over 30 minutes because of this player using cheap tactics:

    1. Kick Gen
    2. Go to next gen, kick gen
    3. Rinse and repeat until you find a survivor out of position

This is not how the game should be played. As a player who has been playing since 2019, this killer is the worst addition to the game. There is literally no skill involved on the killers end.

On top of it all, I was the 2nd last to be downed, so of course they slugged to get a 4k, so I dc'd so the other survivor could get hatch. In my opinion, I should not receive a DC penalty because of this killer and playstyle. When the survivor bots come in, in my opinion, DC penalty should be removed, and these cheap skull merchant players can play against bots all day every day if behavior won't fix skull merchant.

I played once like this with skull merchant but for me it was hard not easy. It was pretty decent swf I faced maybe that's why. But I had to work for the win and if I didn't play well I would lost and not gotten critical downs. So I would not say it is easy as it does require lot of patience and you have to still do right plays.

I don't mind LF being punished when he makes a mistake, but there are so many terrain objects with hitboxes the size of a Nimitz class aircraft carrier that it's difficult to really difficult to blame the Cannibal player for tantruming on literal thin air.

Also, just to reiterate, if you spent 3 charges and missed, they're already just holding W until the next loop because chainsaw cooldown lasts forever and a day, too.

Yeah but then it last even longer and they get even more distance when you're in 5 seconds tantrum.

  • @Leatherbilly said:

    TL;DR

The Cannibal no longer tantrums on objects, but does tantrum if you finish your chainsaw attack without hitting a survivor/pallet

    Introduction

Hello everyone. My IGN and forum name is Leatherbilly, and as you might've guessed, my overwhelmingly most played Killer is the Cannibal, Bubba Sawyer, more commonly known as Leatherface. Juxtaposed to Hillbilly, his chainsaw has inferior mobility (in that it offers none) but has maneuverability beyond just "flicking." Two things actively hurt the Cannibal's current iteration of the Tantrum mechanic: a design and a glitch problem.

    The Design Problem

Therein lies the problem at the heart of the Tantrum mechanic: it actively hinders what he is intended to do. He should be chasing survivors around objects as a strength, but his weakness actively prohibits that; one cut too close, and you're self-stunned for eternity; 5 seconds plus 1 second per charge spent up to a staggering 8 seconds. Cut it too safe, and you cannot catch up even with optimal add-ons. Problematically, that "sweet spot" is hard to identify, as objects' collision box can sometimes far exceed what they appear to be.

    The Glitch Problem

This is the second big problem with the Tantrum: you don't actually have to bump into an object, sometimes merely looking in the general direction of an object will trigger it, sometimes hitboxes are considerably larger than they appear, and some objects are coded as a collision that make it impossible to traverse: one such example is the bus on Autohaven Wreckers, which will always trigger a tantrum no matter what you do. It is also extremely inconsistent with extremely unclear limitations on what will and will not trigger a tantrum without thousands of hours of knowing which objects are glitched, increasing with every additional map. Aside from being profoundly frustrating, this punishes new players particularly hard because they had no way to anticipate it would happen.

    The Suggestion

Leatherface still tantrums if his Chainsaw overheats. He no longer triggers a Tantrum when bumping into objects. Whenever the Cannibal uses his power without hitting an appropriate target (a Survivor or a pallet) he will Tantrum for 5 seconds, plus an additional 1 second per chainsaw charge used.

    Conclusion

This iteration of the Tantrum mechanic is both more thematic, as he tantrums only at the end of the film when a survivor eluded his grasp. It is more consistent with his design, as he is intended to chase Survivors in tight corridors around objects in ways the Hillbilly cannot. It is more future proof, as you will no longer need to learn the glitched objects of every new map. Finally, it is a more fair and skill indexed design with clear cut punishment for being outplayed instead of ambiguous hitboxes that can punish you purely for doing what BHVR intended.

Why not just remove the tamtrum all together 5 seconds anyway is eternity. You could at least suggested it being lot shorter.

  • Yeah you just get the feeling sometimes it's ghostface. In irl it same thing sometimes you think about some person and then you see him. Maybe just coinsidence or sixth sense...

They surely would cry. I remember how they claimed to only go against top tier SWFs with the HUD. And the HUD barely changed anything for SoloQ. Except my Blood Pressure because I now can see that nobody is doing anything while I am being chased.

    @Topic:

The thing is, SoloQ can have all information they want. Even if the Devs would be mad enough to include Voice Comms AND the system would actually work (aka no problems with language, toxicity, etc.), this would not totally bridge the gap between SoloQ and SWF. (which would obviously not work, but lets pretend there would be an ideal scenario)

Because the main strength in SWF is to remove the RNG from your teammates. The Claudette who is self-caring in a Corner against a Legion running Sloppy Butcher? You wont play with that in a 4 man-SWF. The Meghead who drops every Pallet on the Map instantly? You wont have to deal with that either.

You will know that your teammates are decent and that they wont waste time and do Gens when not being chased or are good at being chased. And information will not provide this.

E.g. I once reached second Stage on the Hook despite the Survivors having ALL information available - two were on a Gen together, one was being chased (shown by an indicator and them getting injured). Yet, none of those two on a Gen moved to get me.

You also see Survivors with Kindred who run full map for an Unhook despite seeing that someone else is already going.

Information will not really fix anything. The HUD proves it, it gives quite a lot of information and yet did not improve SoloQ-experience at all.

Kindred would certainly help a lot. I get often teammates who have idea what to do but the coordination does not work because we don't know where each other is or is killer camping. Basekit kindred would not much help swf either unless they don't communicate but then they purposelly handycapping themself.

That's a gross mischaracterization of the issues surrounding Decisive Strike at that time.

An unconditional 5 second stun that was often being weaponized by overly aggro survivors who would refuse to jog on after an unhook and instead actively force their way into a tunneling situation that otherwise would have likely not happened to them got that perk nerfed again. Especially considering by that point it had already been taken out of the Enduring stun reduction pool which meant it still resulted in undesired lose/lose situations.

It didn't that survivor is off gens I would just slugged him and leave there. Then one survivor would have to come off the gens as well yo pick up. No wonder games used to be so much easier before when survivors actively throwed some way. Now all they do is gen gen because of ds nerf.

It's extremely matchmaking-sided in terms of how your games will go. It feels very luck of the draw. I'm escaping a little over 70% of my solo queue games since I started tracking them, but I have 4500 hours and take the game very seriously. That number differs when I play in a duo or a 4 man SWF. It actually goes down with my usual duo friend because our MMR combined seems to produce some wild matches in terms of skill variance. It goes up to about 80% in a 4 man. Your mileage may vary. I think with DbD it's more useful to focus on how the matches feel rather than the results. I'm always down to give feedback or tips if you're looking for them.

That's not normal you are either very lucky or you're top 0,1% survivor player.

1 Gen Pops. Survivors T-Bag and taunt me at loops. But then I down the Leon and hook him, and he instantly DCs.

Meg then afks and kills herself on the hook.

Jeff and Feng tried, but 2 Vs 1 with 4 generators left is very unfair.

I don't like easy games like this, it's sad and boring. I wish people would lose with some pride rather than making their entire team suffer.

And I know bots are coming soon but, people like the Meg who just afks and kills herself on the hook will bypass that immediately.

I think even the Leon tried to die on hook cause I remember hooking him, starting a chase with the feng, then I saw him hit stage 2, which means he tried to kill himself, but then he disconnected early i guess?

I would went easier on them in 3vs1 so that rest would get some bp even 20K is very little gain as killer too and if I ever earn that little I get mad. But your games will soon get harder if you keep winning. You will get survivors who can loop and do gens extremely fast and then you hope you would get games like this so I think you're lucky.

  • @Peanits said:

We dove into this when we removed the Bloodpoint bonuses from BBQ & Chilli and We're Gonna Live Forever, but the gist is: We do not want Bloodpoints to dictate which perks you decide to use. Extra Bloodpoints, especially when the bonus is large, causes a lot of people to use a perk that they otherwise wouldn't have. This creates a situation where people feel the need to run that perk because if they don't, they aren't progressing as fast as they could be. This is not ideal, we want everyone to feel free to use the perks they want- whether they are the ones they consider the most useful or the most fun- not the ones that they need to in order to progress quickly.

This was a different story before the progression overhaul, but these days progression is much faster even without these bonuses. We're gradually phasing them out from various perks as they are updated.

Hi! I would really hope you increase bp amount you earn from repairing gen. You need to complete alone 7 gens to max out objective category. That's why many use prove given how hard is to max out that and also the 15% bonus encouraged to work gens together. To be efficient is not usually worth to do gens together.

Yes, but at that moment the killers had other, less difficult to implement alternatives. It seemed to me that the community figured out this combo only 2-3 months before the nerf. (At least, I started to see it with YouTubers right then.)

Nah majority was using call or brian and obercharge after month or two. First people used thanatobia... eruption got used bit later commonly.

This is true. It is more difficult on console with some killers that require precise movements and aiming: trickster, huntress, Oni, etc, which does require more practice. Unfortunately, not a lot of people are willing to put in the time sink to get better, which is understandable when the bar is set high and you want to have fun right away. The best you can hope for is to find an m1 killer that you enjoy and stick with it, and there are plenty to choose from.

And still even if you practise Oni is not enough to get even as good as average pc oni as you can't 180s, flick and turning is slower.

  • Jacks sparow as survivor would be so cool.

  • I would love to have more outfits for sheva.

  • Saboteur, yui's wiggle perk, dead hard and delivarence/ds is my survivor off meta build. I also use saboteur toolbox in that.

  • @Crowman said:

Because there's plenty of people in the community who love to hop onto people's steam profiles to continue to insult and harass them over actions in a video game. Many people just don't want to deal with it.

And frankly OP you sound like the exact kind of player that causes people to use a privacy settings in the first place.

Console does not have that option if someone insult you just have to take it so I usually play more fairly agains't them. But even that is not always enough once I tunneled someone at 1 gens left out and he spawned me 100 messages which actually affected my gameplay and he was pc player with xbox profile.

Ace was about as useful as a waterproof teabag.

He was fine but could hide better I explained the match below the post.

  • I think ds was even too weak with the timer 60s timer being too short so it punishes you from playing well. It should be 80s like otr and the skill check should be easier as it punishes new players who need it the most. If doing these changes I think the perk is fine while increasing the stun to either 3,5s or 4s giving bit more distance for survivor. Nurse and blight it could stun longer.

  • @Seraphor said:

Because I genuinely don't see how it's more powerful than other exhaustion perks.

Yes it's a strong perk, and it could do with some minor nerfs, but it's not the dangerously OP end of days disaster people keep crying it is.

I main M1 killers such as Ghostface and Pig, and I find Sprint Burst to be much more problematic than MfT in practice. You can theorise why the math makes MfT OP all you like, but what happens in practice is what counts. MfT is only OP with incredibly skilled god-looping survivors with perfect pathing and flawless reaction times, the same survivors who can sit on a 99'd Sprint Burst to use just as you lunge and whiff btw.

Minor nerfs that would be fair: Please choose any two of the following three options.

    • Instead of being a half-exhaustion perk, it's a full exhaustion perk. Inflicts Exhaustion as long as you are injured.
    • Only works in chase. Preventing you from pre-running and gaining value from it before the killer has a chance to build up towards Bloodlust.
    • Slight value nerf. Swap MfT's 3% with Boon: Dark Theory's 2%.

Tangential nerf: Reduce Hope from 7% haste to 5%.

I would just do that hope would not stack with it and remove the endurance for now.

  • I think they could definetely increase it to like 5 million cap.

Yeah. Getting rid of hook grabs is a way bigger nerf than all the survivor nerfs combined.

And the killer perk buffs were a joke. Does anyone at BHVR honestly think those changes could affect the meta? What was the point?

Pop is good now you just need to get hooks. Try it out. Decent survivors easily countered hooks graps already but they do have more time to stick on gens definetely and do the save later. But it's going help more average or bad survivors who leave the save last second. I do think killers will get compensation buff but still instadown killers and huntress can still camp as good as ever. So the buff might not be very big.

  • @I_am_Negan said:

Ace either gave up on hook or got camped and tunneled out.

You tried to help, but should of just stayed on the gen you were on. Huntress choose you next to go.

The other two worked gens until they both went down and put on the hook.

The huntress downed everyone pretty quickly I'm guessing.

My explanation below you got some parts right but it was not as fast you think.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

Fast downs, so not much chase BP for Survivors. No escape, so even less BP. My guess is bottom Meg swarmed Ace and got him hyper-tunneled, and subsequently her, the other two gen jockeyed until they had to deal with other meg and you killed them.

I didn't swarm ace 🤣. Yeah chases were pretty fast mostly. The huntress chased the ace and we all worked on separated gens and got them done while she camped and tried to snipe us and got two of us injured. I did go to try do save so that ace would not get second stage but I got sniped and spend over minute slugged 🙄.

Rebecca did manage to put reassurance on ace and started 4th gen and managed to do save later on ace vut he still got second stage. Meg was chased after that and ace came to heal me. Huntress was coming to us after getting meg quickly. So I showed myself kinda that she would not get ace out and she got me pretty fast. Rebecca managed to fix 4th gen. But unfortunately ace didn't use his time to get away and got almost instantly downed after. The huntress came to tunnel me and camped.

Meg managed to fix last gen and went to open exit. Huntress stopped camping and went to down rebecca other side of the map. Meg just kept opening exit and tried to save me at very end but struggle time just ended and I died before she could get me. After that meg tried to go help rebecca but went down too. So that how the game went so it was not stomp and easily 2-3 man out if opening the exit was not the most important thing for meg instead saving.

Well, blame the nerfs to healing and healing perks. Survivors used to be afraid to touch a generator while injured, now, after homenogizing med kits and making healing ridiculous, most have nothing left to do but sit on generators. It's boring as well.

Variety is a good thing, both killers and survivors need buffs and not nerfs to give more variety and options.

If people come on here to QQ about perks, they need to learn to ignore a lot of it. Nerfing killer or survivor perks so they're utterly useless is a bad decision and just creates perk bloat.

I think healing nerfs were overkill definetely as was some killer nerfs as well like call of brian and ruin.

Tunneling isn't a misplay. That's the problem. At worst it's an unfun strategy at the Survivors expense, at best it's happenstance.

It is misplay if you tunnel wrong target and ds user is usually wrong target. Tunneling does not always work so it's not always right play to do. Right play debends compeletely on situation. Sometimes it's to camp someone death sometime going after different target.

  • Last summer was good for me I played lot back then. I really liked old ruin/pain res and pop. So compared to that killer is kinda meh now. Players have gotten better since then too almost all survivors I face loop perfectly. Back then you could win playing fairly.

Mobility of nurse isn't anything special, chase power of demogorgon is not anything special, vaulting ability of wesker is massively downgraded version of legion, same goes for slowdown, and tunneling ability is nowhere near close to PH because it takes LOT of seconds to fully infected after unhook, every killer will eventually catch you.

1 minute is too long, it could be paused during chase but I doubt it to do anything because by the time infection reaches MAX the killer wasted enough time on you, kinda like bloodlust 3.

The tunneling ability needs to be nerfed. No need to hold killer hand and give easy tunneling. Other than that he is fine.

what? you cant cancel a blink midway. You can look down mid charge... but you probably wont land the hit because you have one blink to land it. A good survivor wont let you get that hit. I say this as someone with like 500 hours on nurse so im pretty qualified to say that. But honestly if you are doing good on console as nurse? goddamn you must be the best nurse player in the world, if you can play her without flicks.

shes got counterplay on both sides which is super fun to engage with once you know it. She just makes mindgames, the core of DBD, the sole method of playing chase. so if you cant mindgame you suck on either side. You also need very good juscle memory, flicks, and perfect predictions just to get the hit on good survivors.

I don't know how pc nurses do it but they hold to blink far away but then cancel it of you run closer to them. They can do it instant without looking down. Nurse pc flicks should be removed and then give range back. On console you just have to quess what survivor most likely gonna do and blink to that position. That how she is playable for me.

Yeah I cancelled my netflix because of that I think people should do that there is not anything to watch anyway.

Honestly even as a 115% killer I can tell when the survivor has MFT 90% of the time. But that's fine, slightly faster looping against a regular killer is something a perk can do.

But 110% killers? It's ridiculous. Especially combined with hope.

And you said you earned the combo if you make it to the endgame. But it means you're punishing killers for not tunneling. Most of my games, I get my first kill at around 6-7 hooks. If I instead killed 2 people, I wouldn't have to worry too much about MFT + Hope.

    Noed basekit for killers solution?

I under stand the frustration of being exploited cause I had similar buggy issues in the past many times. I will also say that yes Blight does need some add-on rework for sure. But I don’t think banning someone using hug tech should be banned? Cause I feel that it’s not in the right direction.

I mean it takes skill to learn the hug tech like 360ing for survivor which I heard is also a bug. And if again we banned people for using hug tech then we should banned people 360ing. I will also say like other mentioned in the past that if both got remove them will it make the better, I probably say maybe. But that’s why we test things to figure out which way is better. If I came off contradictory I apologize for that.

Disagree. Sure you can learn the muscle memory in like 5 games but actually learning her takes forever. Against survivors who actually understand how to counter her will do just fine. shes only broken in the right hands, and theres only like 2 pairs of hands that make her an instant4k.

I have done pretty fine with her on console. And she is way easier on pc and you can cancel blinks middle blink if survivor outplays you. So she is still 2nd best killer and those selected few can make her 1st.
