After long time, NOED is again rising in popularity and I am also thinking about running it more offten.
Why you may ask?
Because of MFT + Hope + Adrenaline is meta. That's why. It is the only somewhat soft counter Killers can bring. However Survivors still have better meta than one strong late game perk that can be prevented (unlike Survivors perks) ahead and also can be cleansed and it will reveal itself. NOED is still way more balanced than MFT + Hope.
Noed is still strong it secures 1 more kill always than you would have without it. It especially good if you get one survivor out before 5 gens are done as you can ptetty essily secure 3K even 4K but just usually one gets away. Without it you would gotten 1K or 2K at best if lucky.

The damage that winstreak videos have done to people's perception of healthy gameplay is incalculable.
What you are complaining about, when we get down to it, is that you briefly thought you might not win one (1) game because you got outplayed in one instance, so please give tools so that you no longer have to even possibly worry about getting outplayed in that way.
Sometimes you lose games, this wasn't even one of those games. If everyone always was able to win without having to worry about getting outplayed the game simply wouldn't exist, you can't have a comfortable 100% win rate for both sides in a PVP game.
I don't even necessarily disagree with you that we need more options to punish players for taking hits, I just hate seeing this attitude from people of "I almost didn't win this one time, remove my opponent's counterplay" from either side.
If you want to punish bodyblocking try using Forced Pennance, it doesn't cause exposed but it causes Broken, which in your case would have blocked the Adrenaline heal. Might be nice to have more options, but if you're really concerned about people taking hits that's an option for now
That was not outplaying I handicapped myself not using tunneling/camping and 7 hooks before trying first kill. And still get punished by bodyblocking playing that fairly. If I would just tunneled earlier I would get someone out 3-4 gens left and ez win but now I had to work so much for the win. It's not worth to play fairly.

The aged mask for Myers would be really cool. I thought they did such a great job with it in the films.
Yeah that is perfect I really wish it would already be in the game.
-
For me quite the opposite it's been lot more on killer than before. It's still days on survivors but I mainly play now at evenings so I play now killer most of the time. If neither side has bp bonus I play another game.

I was very close losing.I'm very sorry you almost lost.
That said, an idea of a perk that activates based on hooks is not a bad idea, but I don't think it would work out. It would need a powerful effect, like Devour Hope, to justify building up hooks on multiple survivors. Something just like an instadown on a bodyblocker wouldn't be worth it, that's extremely situational.
That's why I think it should have secondary effect to help chases.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
What do you mean? They are instantly stuck down without you needing to do anything?
No I would have to get hooks before the perk would activate and once it's working when I chase survivor and another comes bodyblocking I get to down them instantly. Reguirement could be 4 hooks to it activate and it would disable after first kill. It should have secondary effect too like faster pallet breaking/vaulting.

Are you saying Feng had endurance or something? I could barely understand the scenario you were describing in the original post.
No feng got distance to save pallet when meg took hit when I was just about to get the feng down. Both death hooked but meg would have lithe and last gen was about to get done. So I needed that down and worked for it but by bodyblocking it was taken away. If I would just tunneled I would have much easier game.
-
The perk could have 4 tokens which you get by hooks. And once you chase survivor and another comes bodyblocking you can instantly down them. Perk could have some secondsry effect too like 10% pallet breaking/vaulting helping chase. The perk would deactivate once you kill someone.

That would be a dream match today. No camping, no tunneling. Just a Blight that constantly switches targets. Imagine that!
On top, Ruin had no effect when a survivor worked on a gen.
Blights still can switch target now they just risk they might lose/tie but get instead lot of hooks and still some kills. Ruin/undying sounds too ez win on blight. I figure hex ruin could be buffed now like 130/140/150 regression and it would be fine. But 200 was too muchnand whatever the combo... But even if ruin was 500% and not a hex some blights would still tunnel. I see blights who tunnel 3vs1 at 5 gens...

The game is existed for 6 years without it just fine.
It was not fine survivors had to always run one perk to fix gameplay flaw. Now survivors are not forced to use perk and are free to use what they like. Dbd also got more popular in 2021 so many players only had to endure it a year and games need to evolve to keep players. Dbd has been different game since around that when they changed the maps and animations too.
-
Yeah I think console players should get some assist at least. Actual auto aim would be nice. And flicks should be made possible to use.

Definitely not. The game is being shut down next year and Gun wants to focus on TCSM. Friday the 13th is my favorite game, but it's leaving and not coming back. Sad, but true.
Too bad friday 13th had better idea and gameplay. Tcm lack that it has not enough survivors agains't killers. Dbd 4vs1 just works if the survivors are not too good. I thikk there should be killers playable for 2 people. Like twins or knight could be.
-
SoloQ survivors would never win if there was not few good map for them with some good pallets.

It takes a loooong time to get "good" at DBD, like 1000+ hours typically.
You will lose, it will suck, it is going to happen. Probably a lot.
Just keep trying Killers and unlocking their perks, I recommend prestiging Plague and Pinhead so you can use Corrupt and Deadlock, which takes the edge off massively.
I still suck and I have 3500+ hours. Well sometimes I actually play good but not enough consistently. On killer it's way more than 1000+ hours unless you play only few characters.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take as Huntress. All the good Huntress players didn’t get where they were today without missing their shots. Based on what you were saying, the Survivors could have gotten a 3man out if you were camping the last Survivor but they decided to be altruistic and end up losing 2 people. That’s a decision mistake on their part and they tried to gaslight you into thinking it was your fault for their mistake.
If you enjoy Huntress, keep playing her.
Nice hockey preference.

Me: Plays the match seriously and plays the most effective way: camp and tunnel whenever I find it worth it, gets 3-4K
Survivors: Bruh tunneling camper, why you play like this, etc.
Also me: Chooses to play meme build or wants to give everyone a chance as Killer, plays even friendly sometimes and noding with Survivors, etc.
Survivors: tbag at exit gates, "gg wp", gens fly, 0-1K, "ezi", etc.
I am sorry but I just really don't know what to do at this point. You either respect the other side, having harder time and risk the chance of being made fun of or you play seriously and Survivors cry but you have better matches.
Maybe try middle ground and not extremes on either way. And see if they still response same if you care about that. People tend to go mad though if you just outplay them.

yeah what’s your point? They aren’t trying to be like DBD
Point is dbd is much more entertainting and interactive. Tcm you just spend most if the match finding survivors which is boring that also most boring thing in dbd when survivors hide. Tcm only beats dbd in that it has multiple killers. But clearly there should be lot more survivors.

The game is fun.
Sure it makes me angry enough to rip my own bed in half sometimes, but there truly is not a single game that is like DBD, period.
No other game comes even close, it is entirely unique and original. No other game brings horror icons along with original creations together to be fully playable in diverse and interesting ways.
What other game besides maybe skins or flash games lets you play as both Nemesis AND Pyramid Head? None.
What other game lets you stalk people as Michael Myers or Ghostface? I can't think of any besides DBD.
The original creations (besides maybe Skull Merchant) are all great too, I personally adore Clown, Dredge and Singularity.
And I love the perk system, sure it's annoying when some perks are objectively broken (Old Dead Hard, Made For This, Mettle of Man when it first came out), but it also has a ton of fun and goofy ones like Plot Twist and Coup De Grace.
The only real issue that holds this game back are not rewarding Killers for spreading hooks (which should count for MMR instead of Kills) and punishing the Killer for camping and also rewarding the Killer for NOT camping.
Fix these two issues and DBD will be at the best it has ever been easily.
Biggewt issue is lack of game modes there should be 2 killer mode.

Go post on their stuffs instead of here
Dbd needs 2vs8 and that what post saying too.

Yeah it's fun just there is not enough victims to kill it should been 3vs6 at least. Dbd 2vs8 would whipe the floor with tcm though.

Yeah 🤣 so funny seeing killers rant some... It's ez to win on killer if you really want to and use all strats available most of the time 😊.

Slight movement buff would be fine like 1-2% and bigger vuff like 10% after you hook someone. Would encourage chasing more.

"Maybe a competitive mode for swf and casual mode for solo players."
I'd love a competitive queue and a casual queue, but would it work? Good killers who do not care about true competition and just want wins would abuse the casual queue to destroy teams.
I would like to be matched with survivors that have similar prestige levels. Prestige does not necessarily translate into skill, but it does mean that they have been playing longer. It is the inexperienced survivors that tend to mess up solo queue games.
Higher prestiges usually have at least idea how to play. But someone who is low prestige might not just play their main survivor who is high prestige. So that would not work either would they get matched with other low prestiges?

Me neither but BHRV probably thinks survivors will complain if they see Demo only getting addon buffs, so they nerf something to keep them quiet. Everytime I have seen mediocre or even bad killers getting addon changes there have been addons also getting nerfed when it was not needed. Idk what their goal is sometimes.
I don't think single person would complain about demo that just not even option and if someone do I don't think dbd is right game for them. Demogorgon is just probably most beloved killer in the game.

@Moz said:
Killer was at their best somewhere between 2.0-4.0. Couldn't tell you exactly where it felt best but that's where killer's generally had more control over matches. I've mentioned this recently but it really can't be understated just how much map awareness and game knowledge survivors have nowadays. Games before actually felt more like a horror game. Now it's a pseudo comp game.
Even if TCM delivers more of that raw, horror experience I think everyone just has so much time invested they feel obligated to keep playing.
TCM too boring chases is what makes dbd fun even it's fun on TCM kill survivor together but you spend so much time finding them that it gets boring. Hide and seek games really are meh. Dbd would died long time ago if it stayed that way. Your refering back then when infinites were think too and you could loop killer forever. Does this look balanced.

-
Nope killer got the kill survivors miss played if they let him have it that easily especially now that grabbing is removed. Bubba camping is lore accurate so for him it's ok to not even allow trade and even that is still possible if survivors play good.
-
You only get endurance if you get unhooked from normal hook. Pyramid cage is designed especially to bypass that mechanic and is best tunneler in the game basically (counters both ds and otr as well). So you should not bodyblock agains't him. It's been always like that pyramid head countered bt perk too.

you need to drop from the second floor of a house or something. hills, tractors... do not count

Shack count if you drop to lowest part of stairs. But basically you give killer the advantage as he can get easy hit.

@DBD78 said:
I really hate when devs do this. They take a mid of the pack killer and buff some addons which a C-tier killer deserves, but the just to please the other side they nerf also even if it's not needed at all. It's just to keep as many people as happy as possible on both sides.
I never seen survivors even complain those add ons more like they want to face demo more. But that nerf will just make people quit playing demo maybe that's their goal?
-
Dbd just need multiple killer mode even one killer who can be played by two people then it would be best game and TCM could not even try to compete. Dbd gets stale because there is just one game mode. It would not have to be even balanced 2vs8 would be just fun. Or killer played by 2 people like twins could already be that.

Playing TCM just reminded me 2018 Summer's DbD. TCM is chill, fun and party game. Nobody takes it serious and everyone are just trying to have fun.
That how was DbD before. Sure it was full with busted things and they needed to be changed. But not that much.
2018 DbD very different game then the game currently we have.
Now as i mentioned on title, DbD really does not know what i wants to be.
It wants to be party game? Hell no. This game is so toxic and stressful for it.
It wants to be e-sport game? Hell no. This game is so unbalanced for any e-sport game.
So honestly i don't know what is DbD wants to be.
I just miss old silly DbD.
Nah I find TCM pretty boring after playing it. Survivors just hide whole game and you try to find them which is most boring thing in dbd as well... but in TCM it's every game. Many killers is fun but there should be more survivors at least 6.

They've changed rank requirements numerous times over the years.
I got to red grade in last summer-winter consistently. I don't think they changed them after that. Easiest to pip was probably during eruption meta on killer. Now the matches are over quickly (which often result depip) and there is not enough time and it's not usually worth to prolong the matches purposelly or sweat to get pips. So I take just the kills and don't pay attention to hooks. Even I won 20 matches a row I still depipped some games and lot were just safety pip.

I definitely consider myself a survivor main but killer just more fun most of the time. Play every other day for about 5 hours. Ending the week around 15 to 20 hours total most of the time.
You're killer main. Most survivor mains usually play almost only survivor. Most my friends has less kills than sacrifises which is quite telling...
-
30-35% killer and 65-70% survivor is my quess. Lately though other way around or more as I been having good time on killer and want to reach bigger kill numbers. I only had 400 sacrifises between april and august. When before in same time I reached 1K. But now 230+ on august only.

This is just classic recency bias
I got to red rank 1 before always now I don't get to even to gold. But I still get the kills but now you just can't go for hooks well kills only matter though so it's not end of the world.
-
I just hope 2 killer mode and ST to come back with new chapter. In meantime I play some texas chainsaw as it has multiple killer mode.

More emotes should be added than we currently have but not probably dances. Killer should get some too.

@Biscuits said:
If you don't camp or tunnel getting pips is not hard. The quickest way to lose pips is to have someone die on first hook or camp a second hook stage.
But that is easiest way to win so it's not like someone who wants to win will care losing pips. Hard tunneling still is the best way to pip if you share hooks after getting one out. One depip might even cause someone playing that way becsuse they lose motivation try getting pips.
-
Agree depipping should be removed or the very least the depip standards should be lowered significantly.

Adding the hatch timer upsets less people than the other way of not having something to avoid the end game slug.
Add something like a hatch timer and killer is upset.
Leave it as is, and the survivor down and the survivor up are upset about the waiting game.
Upsetting 1 is better than upsetting 2.
Yeah but giving hatch is bit extreme. Basekit unbreakable for the situation would be less extreme.
-
Maybe I have been winning like 20 games a row recently. Many games has been close still. Only few were one sided. But feels easy now when im just winning all my games and does not matter if I play bad. Well probably soon I end up in losing streak so have to be careful what I say...
-
@Melinko said:
Need to add a hatch timer.
If there is two survivors left and one is down, the hatch timer starts. After 45 seconds the hatch opens.
Killer now has to either hook and hunt or run the risk of two people getting out.
Good idea too but I think killers would not accept 2 survivors getting free escape when they're greedy for 4K. So I don't think devs can add that without many people getting upset.
-
@Xernoton said:
This part could definitely use some work. Although thankfully BHVR are not going to attempt to solve this with base kit Unbreakable (god, that PTB sucked).
The thing is that the killer is incentivised to slug for the 4k. You get more BP, are more likely going to pip and there is also the fact that 3 < 4. If they did something about the first 2, then that could already help.
Basekit unbreakable would be perfect solution just make it that it only work once 2 survivors are left but not working when all gens are done. Deerstalker basekit for killer when 2 survivors are left.

Everyone seems to be discussing why they nerfed Demo via this addon. My perspective has been the opposite. Why are they "buffing" another killer via nerfing Demo?
I feel Alien fills a similar role to Demo, and in an attempt to increase sales and playrate (and overall success) of the Alien chapter/killer, they want Alien to be the more appealing option. Nerfing Demo feels like it could potentially, drive some Demo enthusiasts to Alien.
I am not saying they need to do this to make Alien successful. What I am saying, is they could make it even more successful.
Hopefully, enough people will voice feedback regarding the nerf for them to revert it (or not release it to live).
Yeah it does not feel just coincidence to nerf demo now when they make similar killer.

Yh i got lucky, started playing august 2022 and got hold of a physical copy of the nightmare editiom for xbox. (Only way to get stranger things in xbox currently)
But I'd love to be able to buy more cosmetics, particularly for demo as he's my killer main.
Plus if they did stranger things I reckon they'd do a chapter with vecna as a killer which could be really cool.
That's late, how much they cost? It's really unfortunate they were removed in 2021 when ST season 4 came out in 2022 like in 2021 most already forget the series almost. Vecna would make really cool killer. But netflix wants instead make those puzzle games...
