  • He does take skill and accuracy to use well but I play on console so I don't know how easy he is on pc but probably still not easiest.

No, you can dodge it if your smart and the Xeno makes some mistakes. Same with demo, Nemesis, Pyramid head, Huntress etc....

If you just run in a straight line and don't look behind you, yes you will get hit and downed very fast.

I've had survivors delay me a lot.

You will go down as survivor yes. But that the point of the game. You are supposed to go down eventually. Your job is to delay the killer as much as possible.

If it's good pc killer then there is not dodging that. Whereas console killers attacks are pretty easy to dodge.

There are 12 hook stages in a game. If you land a hit with each stack of Coup, that's 5 hooks. If you are playing a killer like Myer's who can take advantage of 1 shots with it, you will get even more out of it. The perk was weak with only 5 tokens, but 10 is a bit much. I think it should grant 1 for each gen like before, but give 2 more once all the gens are powered, getting you a total of 7.

That would make it weak again 10 is fine for now and if anything they could make last gen does not give any so then still 8 tokens for killer but 10 is fine so no need to nerf myers already weakest killer and it's not bad thing if this perk makes him bit more viable.

  • Is this forum us vs them only anymore?

  • @Crowman said:

I will say the patch notes do state his tail cooldown movement speed is 2.0m/s which is not the case most of the time. If xeno misses, he should be slowed down and survivors should get distance, but it's just simply not doing that.

Though really we just have a killer who has a bug making them stronger and people keep asking to nerf him instead of fix the bug.

If they nerf the tail to have bigger cooldown which is fine what I have experienced but they should still buff him other ways. Make the tail faster and hitbox bigger. Maybe add autoaim to it to help console players more.

I think the devs should just nerf survivors

Kill rates should skyrocket to 85% to make everyone happy

Well I would be happy because that would make my road to 10K kills lot easier. My personal kill rate is around 70% now. But other than that I would be done with solo survivor if that ever happens.

  • I think they're pretry good at least agains't me. I even think the amount of them could be reduced because it's maybe too much counterplay.

  • @Tsulan said:

Since we are going down this road. Buff Nurse on consoles?

Yup you can't flick on console and she is just more difficult use. Range used to compensate for that... But unfortunately they were just too good in hands of pc nurse. Startruck was even strong on console but you still needed to play well to get those downs.

  • @supersonic853 said:

I think alien is perfect the way they are on console. Not to destructive to the console player if they miss actually giving them a chance with a range-type m2 killer. But i feel pc will get that part neutered because even with how big the console player base is. They don't really balance for them outside of like trickster and blight i think? If they have to nerf any aspect id hope itd be making the turrets do a bit more.

I think aiming with him should be easier on console/controller. On pc he seems too strong based on what I've seen players doing. But im afraid alien gonna get just nerfed on both.

  • @Seraphor said:

And how do you do that exactly?

Aim assist works against you as much as it does for you, so extending this to special attacks would be a doubled edged sword.

The best bet would be to nerf special attacks and buff passives, but that removes skill expression.

I'm on console, and I would love for a lot of killers to be easier to play on controller, but I can't see it happening.

We need better aim assist similar to fornite where it helps. When it was it strongest good controller players could fight in tournaments agains't mouse and keyboard players almost equally.

    Well...

That's efficient twins for you. It's extremely time ineffective to hit you with Charlotte, down you with Victor, endure the 7 second cooldown, switch to Charlotte, walk up to you, pick you up, carry you to a hook and hook you.

Most twins injure more survivors to make a slug fest. The killer saldy works best that way. Has nothing to do with malicious intent.

So good thing she is rare im happy when I don't have to face her and they still could play more hooks. When I play her I hook people. But she really is designed to play by 2 people.

  • I would like it as option to show prestige or turn it off. But I can see it probably reducing some lobby dodging.

Because most often such "meme squads" is comprised of high skill swf players that got bored with the normal gameplay loop and try to style on the killer in any way or form that amuses them.

The average Joe killer has nearly no means to handle them except enduring their shenanigans until they inevitably die.

If they wanted they could curb stomp the killer, know it and more importantly let the killer feel it.

It's about as fun as if I would be matched with low skill survivor and instead of finishing them off, I would repeatedly down three of them, count to one hundred in a corner only to do it again, while they are unable to finish any gens, until inevitably their bleed meter reaches zero.

Edit: In this case it wasn't even necessarily high skill survivor but maybe just a swf that noticed that the killer got screwed by the matchmaking and had their "fun" with the op.

Had that kind of squad while ago and downed them all when they underestimated me but they had unbreakable, buckle up, for the people so they ended getting up that way. If I would been bit luckier I could ended them pretty quickly but then had to battle them through that match got one at least pretty quickly out.

They started eventually play normally, they were all good loopers and gen rushers too. But I won in the end only good thing match lasting longer than what I wanted was that they had cakes. But had to quit dbd after that and went to play tcm.

    Well...

That's in their kit. They literally can't do anything else.

When you down with Victor, you have to slug the survivor until Charlotte comes and picks them up. No way around it.

But she didn't even come to pick just slugged more survivors. Not fun in soloQ.

Survivors get 110% speed boost in end game making them as fast as some killers and making other killer the same as tier 1 Myers.

"Killer can just bring an easily destroyed 4% speed boost to counter it"

    Make it make sense.

You should know given your profile picture. I have downed adrealine, hope, mft users even without noticing they have some of those perks with noed. So if you're scared of that combo bring noed it should at worst give you few downs.

Ideally you kill one survivor at least before endgame as otherwise even noed probably can't save you. If you get 2 downs in 3vs1. 3K is almost quaranteed if you can chase last one away. Well one change for noed could be good to make that 4% speed boost pernament.

  • @Seraphor said:

MfT is mostly fine, but both sides are arguing in bad faith here.

3% Haste IS a 20% extended chase. But a 20% extended chase can mean anything depending on how that chase is managed. So many players just play like bots and path formulaicly instead of mindgaming or catching survivors out positioned.

MfT isn't "free" like many killers mains are arguing, nor is it quite as OP as the math makes it out to be. It's still a very strong perk, but in practice, Sprint Burst is more effective. I've downed many, many MfT users with little effort but a survivor Sprinting away right as I'm about to reach them, or even when I'm 10m away and therefore denying a chase entirely, screw me over so much more.

You only need Tier 1 bloodlust to counter it, not 3, so 15 seconds is plenty. The problem is recognising that MfT is in play so you can adjust your chase and use that bloodlust asap.

Endurance is probably too much, we have Buckle Up for that now. And stacking with Hope can be a problem.

I think it stacking with hope is fine survivors made it to endgame so they deserve it. Killer can bring noed to counter it too.

Well, I wouldn't use Otz as a measuring stick for the general player base considering his job is to live and breathe the game.

But yeah my experience has been about the same where most killers won't tunnel immediately unless pushed. Camping from the start I've had more frequently but it hasn't been crazy thankfully.

Additionally when 2-3 gens can pretty easily pop in the first chase it's also not uncommon to have 1 hook, 2 gens left, and that's already in tunnel/camp territory for most players.

Otz definetely is good killer but I think it shows average killer can win good amount of games without tunneling too. Or at least experienced killer can. It is harder now that gen rushing is more common as well.

Yeah but sometimes survivors can make 2 gens quickly but after that they do nothing but it's hard to tell as killer when that happens. So I don't always go immediatelly to tunneling. But 3 gen in first chase is very rough so after that I barely leave hook it's debressing. But then survivor has wasted too much your time and only option left is to tunnel like I said earlier.

As a console player I can go without auto aim as the current auto aim tends to screw me more than it helps me

That why I suggested making it better where it would actually be more helpful. The current one still help me sometimes but sometimes screw me too. And there should definetely be option to turn it off or on if you want.

  • The tail attack should be faster feels way slower than nemesis tentacle. Maybe because I play on console but it should definetely buffed to be bit faster.

  • @MrPenguin said:

It's generally not fun for either side nor healthy for the game. But it's also not fun to lose, have gens race, get pallet bagged, gate stalled ect.

Players would rather not have fun and win than not have fun and lose, and there's plenty of players who have fun because they're winning, regardless of how.

Survivors would rather slam gens and killer would rather tunnel and camp. Because both would rather win than lose.

The only solution without a mass rework of the fundamental game mechanics is for both sides to agree to play for fun. But I don't see survivors agreeing to stop sniffing gens to give the killer leeway to 12 hook nor vice versa. The general online community just can't be trusted to not be sweaty, so your best bet is to be sweaty back.

I say this as someone who rarely tunnels and camps, it's not like I'm getting props after every game or anything for letting people have fun. It's actually the reverse, a lot of survivors will still be toxic and BM in end game chat or at the gate. So a nice first step would be for that not to happen at the least.

Even that extreme what he says killer typically does not tunnel or camp immediatelly after first hook usually they go after someone else and usually tunnel when it becomes neccessary. Hard tunneling usually happens if survivor wastes too much killer time after there is no more options to killer win.

Some do it ofcourse immediatelly at 5 gens but that rather rare. Most play to have some fun but still enough efficiently that they win most of their games. Otz had video where he didn't tunnel and still had 80% winrate so certainly possible to win other ways. Now employing tunneling when neccessary I figure even average killer can have good winrate playing fairly.

    Thanks for the replies!

I do feel like it falls into a grey area. There was no farming attempt, it's more like they wanted to keep me in limbo until they could ensure the 4k. Obviously they couldn't search and keep an eye on me at the same time, so I was able to patter around and progress the game intermittently. But one time after they told me to stay off the gens, I waved them over to the hook and pointed at it, they still shook their head no and floated off. I just sighed and went back to the gen lol didn't appreciate the situation though

Unfotunately yeah it falls to grey area even the killer clearly did wrong there.

  • @Pluto_1 said:

    No.

Some killers will back off if they think you're new. If they pick you up and let you wiggle off then swing, that usually means they just want to chase, not give up your teammate.

Nope that situation is exactly when killer is too greedy for 4K. Trying to work with other survivor to try kill the other is wrong. What he did should count as holding game hostage.

  • @Robotfangirl67 said:

Yeah, me who is also a console player would also love more support. Cause playing on PlayStation 4 while using certain killer’s definitely does feel clunky like you have mentioned.

Yeah and it actually feels special attacks takes more time to use than on pc. Pyramid head feels worst I had survivors able to dodge attack while they're dropping pallet. I did the hit exact right time too. Huntress feels clunky too.

  • @Grigerbest said:

I used tunnels a lot, it's a good way to regain your ability faster. I'm tunneling after every chase pretty much by using BBQ and chilli.

You should try it yourself btw.

How BBQ helps you tunnel? It supposed to do opposite if you mean getting someone else down and hooked with it help and then seeing earlier survivor with BBQ and going after them that is not tunneling. That's being smart.

  • I quess they're trying the adept achiement and tunneling is usually best way to get it as you got no gen defence. I only played 2 games as survivor so I don't know if it's that common other tunneled and other did opposite. I had one alien just 8 hooking us and not killing anyone at the end when he had chance even he was trying adept.

He definetely should take someout sooner. He could done that without tunneling. I did the alien adept on my first game with tunneling but not immediatelly I had 5 hooks before first kill. Tunneling is not toxic it's stragedy. It is sweaty yes definetely and mean to do at 5 gens.

I almost exclusively play survivor. My point, again, is that even when its near guaranteed, going for the last minute 4-out save is just as greedy as slugging for the 4k.

Slugging for 4K and bleeding the survivor out 4 minutes is incredibly boring and wastes lot of time. Saving in the endgame is opposite it's entertaining and exciting for both sides. Maybe both things are greedy but trying saves is good thing. So which one these should get some fix that's the point of the thread?

I don't find slugging at all greedy if you see both survivors that is totally understandable reason to slug you know you can quickly get both down. Even it's fine to do quick look around when you down second last.

Only problem is the other survivor might crawl away to corner and you have to search which I think just wastes time and is boring too. I could say that's greedy at that point survivors could just stay where they are and accept the lose.

For me getting 4K:s without slugging has never been problem I almost always find hatch first. Gates being otherside of the map is what could get fixing. I think after closinf hatch killee deserves the kill if he can quard the exits which should be possible always but not when they're too far away.

  • Probably because your now using smaller screen. I play from 65 inch tv and when I play on my friend who has 40 inch I can't see anything. Bit exaggerated but killer fov feels lot worser on small screen.

    I also play on PS5.

Playing on a strategic position three gen may not be fun for some survivors but anyway I look for own my fun and win the games bruh.

I'm going to be honest SWF shouldn't exist in the game but this not commercially healthy for the game for this reason the killer deserves to know who players are on SWF together to devise strategies.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3526600#Comment_3526600

Nerf SWF is correct regardless my opinion.

As for ur answer not is a troll comment I understand that u don't like my way playing style but all play styles are respectable even playing hide from the killer.

How about there should just not be any multiplayer games let's go that far and you should only play agains't bots. That sounds ridicious right but as ridicious is to deny people playing multiplayer with friends. I would just deny it with ramdoms too then.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3526431#Comment_3526431

I asked if you found it greedy, not how it can go. My point is that survivors can often have the win, but similarly decide to try to "win harder" and go back for the last one while the killer is forced to camp the hook. It's just a mindfulness observation about when people consider one "greedy" but the other not.

In some situations it can be greedy but then you can use it to your advantage so that why I don't mind it. Usually endgame situations are most fun winning agains't all the odds is very satisfying.

Clear situation were it is greedy is bubba camping and survivors still trying the save they have succeed maybe once agains't me but I was beginner then. Now that has resulted many more kills for me I know how to deny trade on bubba.

Another greedy situation is if survivor is hooked on basement or furthest away possible from exit. But survivors not saving someone hooked next to exit is not in anyway greedy. I don't know if you play survivor but it does feel very bad left behind when you could been easily saved.

What I would say is greedy when there is 2 left in endgame collapse you get another down around exit and other sabotages the close hooks basically you should have quaranteed that kill. Or I don't know but it does not feel right being denied kill that way.

  • @BrightWolf said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3526403#Comment_3526403

I mean, it's the killer's fault for not hooking me first. Like if you're going to slug for the 4K, then pick up and hook me first instead of wasting time going back to my teammate who was downed first.

Well you just waste both of us time I have to spent 4 minutes looking for you. I only slug for 4K if I can get both survivors down in about 30-40s. Just in last match victorio went down to pallet and elodie staying around trying pallet save so ofcourse I down both and take the 4K. I only try 4K that way if I see both of you so stay hidden and I hook the 3rd. I never try 4K if I don't know where last is and only try greedy 4K if I need it for adept or challenge or bully survivor.

    1) Saying "almost" 99% isn't any less ludicrous than saying 99% or 100%, so you may as well have just committed to it. It has little to nothing to do with ego and more to do with the fact that killing Survivors is literally the Killer's entire objective - they're completing their objective as was given. It's "Kill the Survivors," not "Kill some of them, maybe, idk bro, you should probably just stop 75% of the way there." People seriously need to get off their damn high-horses and stop trying to spin one half of the player-base as defective - be that egomaniacs, socially maladjusted or, as I have seen people say before, actually evil. You're not painting them in a bad light, you're painting yourself in one.

    2) Slugging for the 4K makes it easier to achieve the objective. Seems like a good reason to me. And you know full well the hatch can spawn right next to the last Survivor. It has nothing to do with anyone's ability to find them, or crippling self-doubt in said ability - it's RNG.

    3) Businesses tend not to thrive too well if they massively piss off either side in their asymmetric multiplayer game. Both sides are needed to function. Resorting to utilitarian sociopathy - making the few incredibly miserable for the sake of the many - will not make the game more successful.

Then try again next game killers don't always have to 4K. You won already clearly with 3K + hatch escape. Still killee has better chance to 4K than to survivor get hatch. I find it 80% of the time before last survivor and match does not last half as long or more than normally.

I was worried this was the answer.

Myers is suffering right now overall. Scratched mirror is basically impossible anymore too with MFT/Resilience being so present lately. I've had games where I couldn't find the obsession for PWYF and I legit could not catch up to injured survivors LOL

Scratched mirror was before too like that honestly should be just buffed 110% speed and give normal lunge.

  • @thisislastyearsmodel said:

Disclaimer: I hate the Tombstone add-ons. I think it is absolutely ridiculous (and wholly outdated) that Myers can kill people without even a single hook state; however, I am but a humble achievement hunter and would love to complete the Halloween folder.

So, people who have done it, what's the secret? I've tried a number of builds, maps, approaches, etc. and the most I've been able to pull off is a 2k before people start jumping in lockers and refusing to come out.

The build I've had the most luck with is Brutal, Corrupt, Deadlock, and PWYF. I thought The Game might work for it, but the number of lockers on the bottom floor has been making it feel impossible.

You're probably using infinite tier 3 with tombstone already? I think that only way to do it. Your build sounds good brutal is only one I would change maybe to overcharge it would give some regression or enduring. I did it with call of brian, corrupt, deadlock and pwyf. when it was still 200% but now I would not use it.

You really have to hope survivors are not too good as otherwise they start going lockers. Then you also have the risk one going to find hatch. Watch lobbies you face if they look good I would say dodge because to get this achiement survivors have to be bit clueless.

  • Gideon is killer sided and borgo is harder in soloQ wasn't it already bit nerfed?

  • @Ryuhi said:

At the risk of whataboutism, do you think 3 survivors in endgame trying to get a last minute save is greedy as well? I always find it curious to see the word greed thrown around when the killer is trying to secure the 4th kill, especially when adepts/challenges require it (while hatch can rob them of achieving them.)

For the record, I only slug for the 4th for those two reasons, and I know there are plenty of people who do the same. The slug situation is just as boring for the killer too.

Edit: would be neat if all 4k requirements would change to "no survivors leave the exit gates" instead.

I don't mind survivors trying save more often that end up me getting even more kills who would not want that? Anyway can't be compared killer is not bleeding out 4 minutes on the ground but can actively particiate on the gameplay and still win.

Adept or challenge is justified reason to slug for 4K. It's only really small part of community who slug for 4K most just kills 3rd survivor as they don't want to waste time and know how boring it is. Still killer has great chance to 4K even without slugging. I never slug for 4K normally if I don't see last survivor unless the slugged one in my opinion deserves hatch.

  • @BrightWolf said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3525920#Comment_3525920

I do enjoy spiting killers who slug for the 4K, especially if they ignore me (even when I go down right next to a hook) to go and pick up the person they slugged first. So I just crawl to the corners of the map and let them waste their time looking for me and/or hatch, sometimes I get lucky and find hatch, but others not so much.

Oh that annoying thing to do as well. Killer should see last slugged aura when he kills 3rd survivor so that should get fixed too. Slugging is fine when you know where the last survivor is and see them. But what I don't think is fine killer just greedily wanting 4K and keeping 3rd survivor slugged for 4 minutes while trying to find the last one desberately.

On this point, did you know that video games are often cited as a great tool to help combat alzheimers?

Think of the long-term health benefits of not having a visible hook count 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Seriously though, this doesn't bother me personally. I don't really have a hard time tracking hook stages unless I have to survivors who look exactly the same... bloody bunny Fengs...

I don't always pay attention to them it would mainly help you to not kill someone you don't want yet if you go for 2 hooking everyone. Sometimes I don't follow if someone uses chances as well. It would not reward tunneling killers as they certainly follow who exactly they hooked.

  • It's inly map you can win on soloQ so it should not be reworked. Just 3-4 man swf:s should not able to bring map offerings.

  • @Archol123 said:

So now every chase turns into two killers coming from different directions and the survivor just taking a hit regardless of what they do? Like what gameplay do you expect of that?

Leaving 3 survivors to do objective quickly. In tcm if all chase one survivor other just escape.

  • @IHSGames said:

I'venever thought about it till recently when I heard a discussion of Otzdarva talking about how very little info we get in terms of perk effects in DBD, especially opposing sides. It's hard to tell when someone is using a certain perk until its too late. But thats not the point of this matter. This topic made me think "as killer, when do you know when youre giving survivors mangled? Or exposed?" You just have to pray and guess and honestly, I feel like thats unfair, even as a survivor main.

Killers should be able to know when an effect they enduce on a survivor whether Oblivious or any other effect, in order to gain full value from it. If people running Starstruck knew which survivors were exposed, Starstruck would be used alot more. And I know most will say "well if killers did have this info this will force them to target certain players" which...why would they not? Its stupid not to.

Anyways, I think killers should see in the HUD where they see survivor players when a Survivor has Hemorage, Obliviousness, etc, to not just utilize perks better but really, killers should have the right to see info they shouldve be seeing already.

At very least killers should see hook count of each survivor.

  • @Biscuits said:

If they aren't going to address slugging they should at the very least let survivors bleed out faster on the ground.

Yeah just add give up button even I play majority of killer now slugging is just horrible and boring I bothered to play one match of survivor today and spend 4 minutes on ground very fun. SoloQ is enough bad without slugging already.

  • @Chordyceps said:

We don't need to change game mechanics just because people use them to be a little mean sometimes.

Yes we do. Another solution would be make hatch spawn when there are 2 survivors left and killer has slugged other for extended time meaning killer risk both survivors escaping when being greedy for 4K.

Killer still has about 80% chance for 4K if he just kills 3rd survivor. Slugging for 4K is really most boring thing in dbd apart from survivors hiding just wasted so much time and should be fixed.

So if the killer is AFK, you barely do points, but if survivors afk, then he can kill and gain a lot of points.

Also, theh should make that tunneling and camping penalize points so killers like that barely make points

Campers already get less points unless the survivors just give to them hooks and not do saves/trades smartly. Tunneling also should not be much point for killer if he chases too long one survivor. So that again is fine survivor just need to loop better. And other survivors should not stay in gate and let killer hit them instead just leave. I have seen killer jumping from 10K earning to 20K that way.

Tunneling could get some nerf but killers need compensation buff. I would make noed basekit so then survivors have to cleanse all the totems adding secondary objective.

1250 base for an 80 second gen is a bit silly when compared to other scoring events in the game. There is a reason everyone ran prove thyself and it usually didn't have anything to do with the gen speeds as evidenced by how the use of this perk has declined massively since the BP bonus was removed. Survivor bloodpoints are already lower than what killers get on average due to the nature of survivors competing against each other for them. Only one person can get the unhook, only one person can be in chase, etc. Very often the only thing a survivor can do is a gen and you get practically nothing for doing them. Would it not make more sense for an 80 second gen to give 2500?

No idea after prove nerf they should definetley be buffed that was main reason people used prove to fix game flaw.

No point in posting anything like this here. The survivor mains are just going to gaslight you.

Killers aren't allowed to express their frustration here brother. I'm sorry and I know how you feel.

But just so you know you aren't crazy. Killer is absolutely at the weakest it has been since the very beginning. The only worse time to play killer was year one. And survivors are faster in both gens and chase than ever.

Come join me in TCM for awhile. Take a break.

What he is saying is only possible in game you enjoy TCM. All survivors probably can escape in that game under minute if they get lucky. In dbd it's physiqally impossible. One gen takes about 70s even if you use toolbox and brand new part. 3 minutes just sounds not possible maybe only if the killer was totally AFK and survivors were very lucky.

But even fastest gen rushers for me take around 5 minutes which is still too fast but still enough to kill some. Maybe he had that kind of game but people like to exaggerate. But I accept I can't win every game especially when I play weaker killers. I do hope dbd adds something like 2vs4 or 6. Killer is lonely and at times feels weak when you're facing coordinated team of 4.

In TCM opening exit takes just seconds. It does have the advantage of multiple killers but in any other way it loses to dbd. Unless you enjoy hide and seek which gets boring to me most boring playstyle in dbd as well.

I do hope they add more survivors make it 3vs6 in TCM and add more aura reading for granpa. So killers can more easily track and kill survivors. Now you lucky to get 2K in that game as killer but in dbd you can get 4K per game.

Only problem for me in fast games are pipping. Survivors rushing gens so fast result almost always depip. That why I think they should removed. Because of im so tired of them I play lazy and only for kills and use whatever is ez way get them. Not often good for pipping perspective...

  • Well I think we can just hope St dlc comes back eventually when netflix managers use some common sense. Then I would get to buy nancy and all her cosmetics. Also would buy cosmetics for my steve and demopuppy. I don't see cross progression happening. Sony or microsoft won't want to lose players to pc.
