Saying prove is trash is an overstatement. The perk can make gens efficient when other survivors always hop on your gen because they don't know any better and when a gen needs to be done quick in order to win. It's about using it smart, not going out of your way to do gens together. Breaking a 3 gen with 3 people while the 4th is in chase can easily win a game, prove can make the difference to get it done.
Hot take: at least half of mediocre killers can't receive significant base kit buffs due to the nature of their kits. Nurse isn't that hard, even vs good survivors following a safe moveset can easily win you games. Survivors complaining about how often they see wesker don't realize that it's the equivalent of seeing the same survivor perks all the time as killer.
Not a hot take but they have gutted collision on both autohaven and MacMillan for the sake of wesker and it's so sad to see the best designed maps be destroyed for me personally.
Adrenaline vial is def too strong but people severely undervalue the negatives they don't even know exist because they have never used the addon. It's makes blight more map dependent as well.
Meanwhile I run half map to find a teammate to work together on gen while using it. Bp is more important for me than effiency which would be to work on separated gens. Prove so often really favours killer. I don't even count how many times because of it killer gets multiple free hits.
-
I think 4s would be enough maybe longer agains't high tier killers. Also I think it should not have skill check punishes new players most who need it the most. The timer also should be 80s like otr. Current ds could be just basekit.

Id argue that YES, in fact I wanted to do this experiment to see if it was actually the killers skill or survivors being bad, altho I didnt do it with pig I watched vigorously onepumpwilly's streaks live and the vods taking into account more than 400 games, sadly I have not recorded it in excel, but in those matches I may have counted at max 10 good teams, people who actually showed to be good at the game, and they either destroyed the streak or lost by a very close margin.
Willy is a VERY, VERY good player, however when he made mistakes survivors didnt punish him, they did not use the maps busted loops gainst him, ran tiles incorrectly, and worst of all somehow got surprised by sadakos even tho she has a lullaby that alerts you so that she doesnt ambush you.
Maybe ill watch that pig streak completely to do the same.
My point being these streaks just show how bad people are at the game, if you dont manage to loop an m1 killer for at least a minute im sorry I cannot consider you a good player.
You're actually saying here skill matters. If you're very good killer and play m1 killer you're going to win 95%+ games. But if you're very bad killer obviously you lose. 4 good survivors however can beat good killer because their skill is too much.

Grades don't mean anything, they dont affect matchmaking, they don't indicate skill, they literally only exist to work towards a BP dump each month.
No one is being 'thrown into a pot every 13th' because grades don't do anything.
I wish I could think like that but depipping mechanic ruins the game for me. I have to try hard lot to avoid it and just to get a pip on killer. Swf have made it manageable on survivor for me but in soloQ trying to pip up in gold or iri sucks.

If you win with trapper and the meme killers, I eould say it was the survivors team skill that was lacking, like how on earth you let a trapper get away with more than a 2k, or a non dondem sadako, its literally free wins handed to you, just spread on gens and chasing against those killers is easy af, if you are bad at looping use lucky break and overcome/sprintburst, and if you are good at chase use made for this and loop em for 2 gens minimum ir until they drop chase.
I am sorry but any team that dies to killers the likes of trapper, pig, freddy, nom condemn sadako, would literally struggle against tutorial trapper bot.
Some pig has 180 win streak or something and that nothing to do with his skill but survivors throwing? It's very possible to win with m1 killers but certainly not as easy than with high tier killer.

I play quite many of them. Wraith, oni, bubba, nemesis, wesker, demogorgon, myers, legion, ghostface, spirit and nurse belong to my selection. My mains are now wraith, oni and bubba.

Eh, never really understood that mentality. It be like having a few people who are nasty to you and those people shared something in common, so you go out and punch five random people in the face with that shared trait. Sure that's an extreme example and in game you're not physically hurting someone but it's still along the same lines.
Well I would not have to play scummy if depipping didn't exist. I have to force the wins anyway neccesary when it still does exist. Survivors punch me so many times that sometimes I have to punch back and take all stragedies in use. Even many here agree tunneling/camping are just strats to win.

Good killer can get plenty of value from ruin but it down to some luck as well so making it pernament would make it quite strong.

And op talking about end game chat when they are on ps4 lol. Just disable your messages, easy. Also if you want to tunnel go ahead, it is not like it is something rare to encounter. No one cares dude.
Sometimes survivors make me suffer many games all the gen rushing, bodyblocking, saboing, teabags and flaslight clicks it's too much. Everyone has breaking point and then I need to even things. Im still more merciful many times I have let the last 2 escape even I was supposed to have my revenge. Survivors never show any mercy.

If u are tunneling or Camping Toxic Survivor Mains gets Mad in the end Game Chat rage at u and want to see ur Mother killed
If u are try to Play fair as Killer and make it much harder to win since tunneling is the best strategy against good Teams u get teabagged if u dont get 4k and blame u in the after Chat or PS4 message
So what is the Point of not tunneling when Survivors are still toxic to you ?
i hv always try to Play whitout tunneling because i found it boring and it isnt fun for Survivor but since i get teabagged 8/10 Games where i didnt get a 4k im now stop playing fair when there are like 2 - 3 Gens done and Starts to hard tunneling
i already Main weaker Killers like Dredge and Singularity and it is very hard to Play fair whit this Killers against good Groups but i still have try to Play whitout tunneling ( except the unhooked Survivor instant work on a Gen ) but when Survivors are still toxic when u are playing fair there is no Point to Play whitout tunneling
Sometimes when toxic gen rush/bodyblock/bully survivors make me mad. I pick nurse next game and slug/tunnel/camp and get my revenge. It does help to make things even. Do what you need to do.

Pig - 311
Clown - 210
Legion - 502
Nemesis - 648
Sadako - 241
Jill - 549
Total = 2461
It's not so bad tho. I can live with these hopefully 🤤
It's probably bit easier to get cakes on killer? I played much more survivor and got 1050+ cakes most on ace 159 and on jill/sheva 122. I did waste bit too much bp on my P100 feng trying to get her cakes but I averaged what 1 cake per 2 or 3 bloodwebs. P100 characters got cheated on this event.
On killer I got around 850+ cakes most on wraith 99 and wesker 75. I updated every character bit so everyone has bit of them. Also left every bloodweb so that I can collect cakes from later still. That maybe leaves me now with about 1950+ cakes I would wish to get over 2000+ though.

I've had games where the ping favored the survivor.
Ping in any multi-player game is weird when it comes into play.
It does seem to favour killer at least when im survivor but favours survivor when I play killer.

@UnavailableName said:
The main problem is that killers' power are too far apart in efficiency.
Tier S/A killers are so much stronger than tier B and lower killers... that it is impossible to balance the game.
Devs should focus on homogenizing the killers efficiency - nerfing Nurse/Blight/Spirit and buffing weak killers Myers, Pig, Trapper etc...
At the same time they should rebalance every map that they fit and feel balanced with every homogenized killers.
I would like see killers closer to each other but most diffcult killers to play should be the best still. Myers, pig etc are easy to play so they should by no means be as strong. But certainly more viable.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
So, I think as much as they say that they take both a quantitative and qualitative approach to balance, I think they often defer to straight up kill rates at the end of the day over qualitative feedback. But doing that can lead to some blind spots in their analysis. I don't think they're lying when they say that Trapper, Sadako, et al, do well at higher MMRs. They probably do if you utilize Condemned Sadako, Basement Trapper, Midwich/The Game Doc, etc. But those playstyles absolutely suck the fun out of the game and shouldn't be the basis for leaving a killer as is. The data isn't going to necessarily tell the whole story on a killer.
Of course, they are changing Sadako. So it's not like they *only* look at kill rates. Just that they still favor a very data driven approach.
Well killer players could start to stop using those strats maybe devs buff those killers then when their kill rates go down.
-
People want change camping is boring even as killer unless your bubba.

I mean I play on 1200 dpi, it's all about how fast you can move you mouse. The framerate I will give to you, that is a sad reality of all console players, although I play on 100fps because it feels smoother in dbd(only game I can say that about). Shoulder flicks though are a mitigation to the lack of really fast mouse movements, it doesn't matter if someone try to spin or wiggle you if you literally don't have to turn your camera in any direction. I have watched lilith do live reviews of console players on subathon streams, the max potential is definitely less but that doesn't mean you can't be an oppressive killer vs many many survivor teams.
Keep in mind, anything but a shoulder flick, even on pc is not guaranteed.
Well those console players probably should saved the effort to get good on blight on pc instead unless they want hard challenge. Console blights I have faced I could say one was okay. I actually though he might be on pc as he did made some nice moves. The P100 one I have faced actually multiple times he plays very unique way not effiecient way though. He did miss multiple swing on me both games.
-
Well if survivor takes all unhook attemps and does not do any skill checks on struggle phase. We can assume that is suicide 99% of the time. So maybe devs could make so that bot spawn but he is one hook away from death.

Nurse has the highest skill floor but that skill floor should be no farther than 10 games out with even mediocre talent. I have probably played 25 games of nurse since I started playing 2 years ago, I have lost once or twice. Yeah, what a high skill floor. Don't try and pull the mmr bit like my blight didn't run only a full meta build and alch-ring green-speed in the months leading up to my first nurse game, she was well above the threshold.
Not defending op btw since he clearly is doing something wrong to feel this way.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3478791#Comment_3478791
You can use blights power for only map traversal and impossible to dodge hits because spins don't do anything to a shoulder flick regardless of platform(unless 100+ ping is a factor for anyone). Blight is not the worst killer on the console, the only thing gated for console blight is extremely fast bump logic. Probably under a 100 blights in total doing "Extremely fast bump logic" though. So yeah, skill issue. If it's that much of a problem run c33 and be nemesis with 2.3X map traversal speed lmao.
I wait a day to see ok console blight so far everyone I faced have been bad. I looped even P100 console blights 5 gens. Maybe it's skill issue for us but I do think the skill required is way too much compared to pc. We don't have 4000 dbi and 120 smooth fps+.

Pips actively discourage cheesing quick/early kills, punish instadown Killers, and overall work directly in the opposite direction of MMR towards a more enjoyable game for all participants. MMR encourages a kill at all costs, regardless of the method utilized. If I were to take your profile pic to be your favored Killer, Oni is particularly bad with pips. He basically wins in a 2-4 man slug with 2 second chases or he gets ran for 5 gens from every pallet in the map being predropped. Instadown doesn't help Malicious, a snowball win denies multiple hook stages for Devout, and you only get Hunter points based on the chase length, so instadown or being ran forever against predrops are both hindering Hunter. Wraith is exceptional at pipping, as his chase duration is short getting the hit, and requires multiple injury states to get more hits. People like to heal against Wraith more often than focusing gens, so that helps get more hits and more short chases. Oni encourages just popping the gen and leaving to deny the opportunity for a snowball victory.
I play wraith a lot but with him I get only P100 swf:s and all exceptional loopers and gen rushers literally. I don't even remember last time I got normal survivors with him. With oni I at least sometimes get normal survivors though I have to dodge some lobbies.
I like to play enjoyable way but survivors want to rush gens as fast as possible so pipping should rather work same way as mmr as there is just not enough time to do so on killer. Maybe mega tunneling one out is the only way to consistently pip but I don't like to do that often only when survivors have wronged me.

I respectfully disagree on the easy pipping as surv. - It may be that you haven't reached that point as surv - cause "hold m1" and "rescue" are almost alien concepts at this point when I look at the majority of my matches in the recent past. As surv I'm in the same boat as you as killer, it appears. It's hard for me to imagine getting to a place as killer where I face the problems you face; for me pipping as killer is infinitely easier than as surv. For you it is the other way around. Which I find curious - cause it means time played as a role may actually affect matchmaking more than I would've thought -- aka as you play your mmr will almost inevitably climb, even if you think it should stay roughly the same. .... but that's just me musing here.
Last words: if you have more fun playing surv atm go for it! don't worry about killer grade. just do what you find fun in the game.
(also it wasn't 1-ish hours but 10-ish hours above - which I suppose is easy enough to deduce but just I'm case ^^ )
Before it was opposite for me too but after I focused my game plan to do things that help pipping things changed. I did have my struggles before to reach red grade 1 but playing swf makes it lot easier. I regularly play on pretty decent team.
But my killer matches just have proggressively gotten harder. Maybe I have won too many games I don't know or mmr just not working. I do get good killers when I get bad teammates on soloQ too but I focus these games mostly on saves to get the pip.
How many hours you have? How much you play each side maybe can explain bit the difference? I have 3000+ hours on the game and I got 6300+ kills on killer and 2100+ escapes on survivor. I could guess I have something like 1000 hours on killer and 2000 hours on survivor.

I though u were the best killer... nurse ceetainly is better on console than blight. I don't hit anything on blight and survivor spin every hit. On nurse however I win most games. I really enjoyed startstruck on her. But im on xbox series S she works lot smoother but still pc nurses has few advantages. I think blight anyway is worst killer to play on console.

@LordGlint said:
I feel like every killer player have said this at least once before realizing how high of a skill floor Nurse has. Your not just gonna lose those first bunch of matches. You might not even get a hook/hit. If you have a 20 game lose streak, I feel like you might be struggling with some of the basic parts of killer gameplay that swapping to Nurse isn't going to fix. How much time do you spend LOOKING for survivors? Roughly how many hooks do you get and how many chases do you start? How often do you drop chase with a survivor to go pressure somewhere else?
Nurse is not that hard and Op probably will not get as good survivors first games. After few game you get the idea of blinks and you can already win games. Even I play her once a week I usually win or get kills. Killer is on bad states now I either win or loose terribly there is no middle ground.

Pipping as killer is WAY easier than pipping as survivor. As long as you are playing a good killer and have a decent game you wont depip, and will probably end up pipping. Survivor? Hah, you got a 5 gen chase and escaped? Depip. But that claudette that went hid all game and held m1 on gens? Double pip baby, skillful plays.
Rarely killers commit to 5 gens anymore and that long chase should quarantee safety pip. It's veey easy to pip on survivor just run to hooks smand save teammates and press button on gens that all what it takes. You can also just pre drop pallets it's enough for chases if you're not good at looping. On killer on the other hand you need to have good game and need to really work for it.

MMR is so minimum if you want to pip i wouldn't worry about killing 3-4 people a game. don't limit your kills that will reduce your ability to get pips, i.e. more people = faster gens = less gatekeeper emblem. Also you get less progress on devout and malicious as survivors healing removes your malicious progress. And with chaser being kind of finicky the best way to pip is to 3-4k without letting all gens get finished.
Well those games I could not 3K before gates were already open they were close games and could gone either way but I decided to just carry the 3rd survivor twice to the exit. Hoping that maybe I get one easier match where I could 3K before gens get done. But then I actually got lot harder game.

@Halloulle said:
Odd. I have the opposite experience. --- Though, after a somewhat long surv break I found it a little easier on surv as well. Still. 1-ish killer hours of chill play in and I got from Ash to Iri ...2? --- Meanwhile many more surv hours and I'm still sitting at Iri 3.
Well, not really odd. - Looking at the times I took prolonged breaks from one role or switched from a killer I play a lot to a killer I'm more or less a potato with I do notice that the more you play the harder it is to pip (aka: the higher your MMR presumably is the more difficult it gets to pip). Long breaks from a role (or the game altogether) results in MMR decay, switching from one kiler to another also affects who you get matched with and how hard or easy it is to pip (I main one killer and hardly play the others. Only for rituals and challenges and the odd match; my MMR is perpetually low on those --- needless to say: if I play the killer I main a lot I eventually only have stacked swfs with meta builds and good comms. Pipping is hard. Then I switch to, idk, Wraith who I hardly ever play and get easy survs and almost always double pip while chilling).
Point being: if you want to reach Iri I on killer; pick a new killer, chill on them, go for 12 hooks and take something like Jolt which interrupts gens without you having to make the detour. You should average out at 3 kills or 2+hatch, which should also mean consistent pips.
Solo survivor can be hard to reach iri 1 from iri 4 especially if you're unlucky but with swf it's quite easy just by playing normally. Im better than average survivor and can loop so maybe that's why it's just very easy to pip for me. But even there are lot of games where I just do saves and gens and never see killer and still gain a pip.
I get P100 squads probably with new killer too so it probably won't help. I actually lost that pip playing killer I usually don't play. I have too high mmr to have proper matches anymore. I used to reach red grade by just playing normally and at times bit sweaty. But I don't think it's worth the effort anymore.
I do plan to practise nurse maybe then I can reach it just playing normally. I play killer nowadays lot less. Last summer I was getting 6 times more kills on killer than I did escapes on survivor but now it's probably same number. So im almost full survivor main at the moment. Part of it is also I can't physiqally play killer long times I break my fingers.
-
@Eleghost said:
MMR doesn't work most of the time and by only killing 2 you're probably hindering your pips. Also it's just a matter of playing better i guess, more hooks and less campy more gen pressure, etc. Easiest way would probably be to run exposed perks for the extra stopping power.
I could gotten two 3K:s but I checked the points and still would not get 2 pips those games so it was right choise to let them escape to not increase my mmr. All games I played fair but the last one I really didn't have chance defended gens chased different people but just got 5 hooks and when I tried to finish one off during endgame I got bodyblocked so hard.

I have 3000 hours in dbd and I would say I'm an above average killer and survivor. Lately though my killer matches have been extremely difficult. I feel like I'm never catching up to survivors, my mind games never work anymore, my chases go on forever while 3 gens are done before my first down. I feel like I'm getting worse at this game. Any advice because I do not know what to do anymore.
Kinda same for me about 1/3 or 1/4 games are unwinnable and I get totally stomped that I can't even safety pip no matter how hard I try. I don't know what to really do these games survivors just run to pallet to pallet and if I leave chase next one does that as well and these guys also gen rush so damn fast.
Im on point that I might just open the gate for these squad and give up. Other my matches usually are balanced that I have chance at least but still I have to work hard and it's rough when I have those horrible games. I try to now go no more than 2K maybe hoping that mmr would give me more balanced matches.

Survivor is notoriously hard to pip on compared to killer, especially once you get to iri, what do you mean? You can 0k and still safety, but if I die in iri/gold it's likely you'll depip. Especially to double pip.
...And since when do pips even really matter, now that killer adepts are based on kills, anyways?
This is a very low stakes game, winning or losing - or pipping, or depipping (which, by the way, should be removed since it's no longer RBMM), ultimately mean nothing. And everyone has different win conditions. That's what I mean is it's really not big deal.
Play swf and pipping is not that difficult. In solo it's not hard to get iri 4 but from that on the requirement become too much to do in soloQ and it's purely luck. I used swf to go from iri 4 to 1 in matter of days. I did only have to sweat a bit.
But on killer you need to sweat every game like your life is on line so even solo is better until red grade. So I have just given up on killer now. Anyway I have reached high mmr where I get lot of P400 swf:s a lot so even that is not enough agains't gen rushing and decent looping. When I do beat these squad most likely im just gonna safety pip. Depipping just feels bad. Last few days been bit better but I have only been able to play few games.

I mean.... It's not a big deal if you 0k or 4k on killer either.
I don't find survivor relaxing personally. I personally find the stress and constant things to do on killer cathartic.
0K is often terrible lose and most likely you depip so it does matter a lot more. On survivor however you can easily pip even while dying unless you got hard tunneled/camped but that happens rarely. Worst case would be every 1 of 8 games if that happens 50% games to someone.

When playing seriously, I see 2K as a draw. Those rarely happens though. My mmr is impacted by how many friendly games I do, so in most games if I really wanted a 3K or a 4K I would get one, I just choose not to sweat for it.
Your way is good winning too much leads to facing P400 swf:s quite often. Happened to me I try to lose now. With facing them im not even getting gold rank/grade while playing low level killers.

the nerf to spirit that she can use no other add-on except MDR and her yellow speed add-on. MDR is 25% but if you use yellow speed, 25%+10%=35%. so MDR is still same but it costs two add-on slots and all these other add-on she has are pointless. personally my build on spirit was MDR+yellow speed for 50% speed boost but now that build is nerfed.
They should let you see scratch mark with MDR now that it got nerfed so much. Would help casual players who don't use headset.

Very healthy change I was mad other day getting hook grabbed while I stopped rescueing 1s before. They favoured too much killer before and they were not skillful play just luck most of the time.

From survivors perspective I don't mind her. I escape majority of my games agains't her and it has to be good pc nurse to kill me now and with other killers even bad killer can kill me so yeah I think she could be buffed at least on console.
