If no one is dead yet, you can't attempt to 4% (although, if the killer camps, you can still unhook yourself using the new mechanic) and there are no skill checks in the second phase.

    Problem solved

I would reduce the kobe try to just one and it can be then 8%. They they have to wait at least 40s before missing those skill checks. Maybe they could change it that you have to miss 3 to die.

  • Gens are too slow already give survivors 2nd objective which is more interactive and then gens speed can be made faster. Working together should be encouraged. Objective speed should be balanced how many survivors are still alive. Currently 4vs1 is too survivor sided but 3vs1 is too killer sided.

Guy I have 2.5k in this game and it's always the survivors taunting the killer. If you play survivor and you are good at it why be a dick about it.

Hours does not make you automatically better knowing if all your hours are on one side your opinion is going to be biased. Killer can be just toxic because they're bullied in real life and that has nothing to do with survivors in the game. But some do it even without any external reason.

  • I rather take that than tunneling fest. I don't remember last game someone was not tunneled out. Feels im only killer not doing it at least sometimes. But I don't have luxury playing agains't soloQ. Im actually thinking doing just farming on killer to tank my mmr. But I don't know will that work as survivor I die and still get sweaty killers and probably even worse teammates.

  • @SimpleTora said:

Trying to put ego, entitlement, bias thoughts aside what do you feel is genuinely something that is unfair to play with/against or just unhealthy or anything in that category. For me:

Nurse - Everyone knows she is busted her power ignores pallets, vaults, walls etc. all of which are core mechanics of the game meant to give survivors counterplay against killers and they mean nothing to her

Blight - Really really stupid addons for an already ridiculous power.

Bubba - AoE instadown that grants a speed boost with no real limit is absolutely ridiculous and allows stupid gameplay that basically has no real counterplay. Oni is the only other killer with such a power but it has to be earned and then has a limit, Bubba's power is just straight up unhealthy

Adrenaline - Honestly one of the very few survivor perks that I feel are genuinely problematic (now that MFT is being nerfed) it does way too much for too little effort and I honestly think it should only take effect after the gates are OPEN (or when EGC happens)

Windows - I don't think the perk is unfair but I do think it causes an issue with how survivors play. With it they basically have no reason to pay attention to the map or learn it and are basically just having their hand held the entire time so when they don't have it on they get a false sense of gameplay without having such a handicap. I honestly believe it should get a small cd (like 5-10 sec) after using one of the locations that are revealed (vaulting a window/pallet) just so they have to actually somewhat pay attention instead of having all the info thrown at them like they're toddlers

HUD changes - Hot take but I don't think solo Q needed this. Nothing changed with its additions except for already good players using it to be even more precise in their gameplay. Bad players will still ignore the fact someones in chase and hide in a corner and all the other dumb crap that came before it. BHVR needs to encourage players to learn the very bare minimum instead of just throwing them training wheels the entire time.

I had more but im done for now

I disagree with everything expect blight add ons. Nurse is fine, bubba is weak... Adrealine is balanced it would be garbage without good effect as it only work when gens are done. Killer has equal perk as well noed which almost always quarantee extra kill or two if you play right.

Windows is fine it best effect is showing what pallets are used so the perk helps significantly soloQ players. If the effect showing pallet is nerfed that won't affect experienced players but hurt newbies. Hud is not enough for soloQ but it is improvement now we just need basekit kindred.

  • @Unam said:

Like, I came back after some months i couldnt play...

I got rusted, I missed hits/special attacks etc.

    But holy dang....

No matter what you do, which killer which perks/addons, no matter how good you play, there isnt a feeling of getting rewarded if you are playing good. You chase survs, drop chases you cannot win, patrol gens, punish their mistakes...

Gens are popping left and right, even with corrupt and deadlock...

You are popping and scourging gens, 30 sec later, gen is done.

You hit them with sloppy, drop their items, wait for pickups Under pallets, tunnel the weakest link out...

Still there is a safe pallet up somewhere, still there is a double windowed tile, still there is an Unbreakable/adrenaline/dead hard/etc.

You cannot bloodlust as they walk, crouch, break los or pallet vacuum you into oblivion...

And even if you manage to get downs and hooks, you cannot defend your objective as it gets a free unhook plus endurance plus speed. Even in endgame, if one healthy surv comes to unhook you cannot do sht as autoaim thinks you want to hit the surv on the hook...

Survs fuckup and dont get punished, you get pallet stunned or fl blinded once, it seems like you can already quit the match.

If survivors arent complete potatoes, there is no feeling of accomplishment when playing killer.

Regardless of what you do, survs always seem to have the upper hand while not even havin to think a bit due to every info getting handed and noted for them...

Survivors can make more mistakes it's 4vs1 but bad mistakes from them can cost them entire game as well. For me both sides are like that expect survivor is rewarding when you win. It's now killers hard tunneling/camping when im survivor and they win many gens remaining that is not balanced. When I play killer I get nothing but sweaty swf:s who loop perfectly likw they're not even human.

  • Unpopular opinion: facecamping was fine proxy camping should been nerfed instead.

  • I hope you make right decision and let them stay. There is no skin reward for P100 but there is reward you can at least show it.

  • I take it. I only had demo on my main account. Well at least still it shows I have had demo since release because im prestige 19. Wasn't characters suppose to have special prestige portrait as well which you got after getting P3 in old system the icon is flashing red for me and other killers who I prestiged before the new system.

So in that way you can feel oldster πŸ˜€. But im more than happy they're back I have wanted nancy so long. Probably like almost immediatelly since they left the store.

Games like this are always a reminder to not play nice for the sake of the other side. Because clearly they did not intend to play nice

That why first play hard as you can and only after if you feel like you played too hard then maybe play few matches nice. This game you just get punished playing nice survivors throw it to your face bodyblocks when you try to get kill at endgame, teabag and so on.

  • Depipa should be removed for both sides and maybe double the amount pips you need to get up grades then they really show just play time. Now they so how sweaty you are.

See, to me this is an ego thing. At 2 dead with 4 gens remaining, the game is over, there is no "winning". Just let it go.

Only in situations where the killer was really being an ass would I find it more worth my time to hide than to just die and move on.

When I find myself in a similar situation as a surv, I'll lay low for a couple of minutes, but if/when it becomes clear the other remaining surv is committed to hiding, I'll just out myself or go jump on a gen.

And in some cases, in situations where two survs remain in an unwinnable situation, the killer will spare one still trying to play and hunt down the hider. It's just more "honorable" if you want to call it that.

Two people taking up half an hour scumming for hatch (which isn't a win in any meaningful sense anyway) is just pathetic behavior.

Proposing that the parameters of the game to change to constantly keep the odds even after the killer has worked to get them in their favor sounds ridiculously entitled, tbh. In DBD, you live and die based on your team, for the most part; it's what you sign on for when choosing survivor, for better or worse. No one is entitled to a constantly evolving path to victory, or for things go "go well for them".

Think about the reverse - if the killer gets and unfriendly map and a team brings in a bunch of souped up tool boxes and slams out 3-4 gens before the killer gets more than a down or two, should the game parameters change to "balance" the new situation? Of course not, that's just absurd. Survs would riot, and justifiably so.

Have the dignity to go out fighting, take the L and move on.

This is something that should been changed long ago. In tcm you can still escape in 2vs3 situation if you play well and it's not hopeless like dbd. They should do something in 2vs1 to allow them small chance.

So ... two Blights? Two Nurses? A Blight and a Nurse? A Nurse and a Doctor (for detection)?

Nurse and blight can be left alone they're enough OP to win without help. But everyone else could use a friend and it could be less powerful than the main killer more like just helper. Gens time can be shortened then they take too long now anyway.

  • @Grigerbest said:

You probably get the idea from a title.

In short: Tunneling in the current gameplay paste is a must-have tactic for some killer roaster to have a chance for at least 2-3k.

You phisically can not take away this tactic from killers without any downsides for survivors.

Now that killers have no face-camping and hook-grabs (thank God), tunneling is not something that developers should go against without fighting the gens speed issue. Yes this is exactly an issue.

So if developers announce something like "Anti-tunneling" mechanic, be prepared for a huge nerf to survivors main objective - Gens, or a huge buffs to killers.

Either gens be much longer to repair, or killers will get some strong perks such as Deadlock or Corrupt, or maybe even Pain rez as basekit.

You can't take away a valuable tactic such as tunneling without any downsides for other side. There will be nerfs to survivors, or buffs to killers to compensate.

I have idea for killer buff give killer friend so it's 2vs4. 1vs4 is always going to be unfair unless the less numbered side is completely OP which is not fun for survivors then...

  • Well for me matchmaking is terrible. I get best loopers when I play killer and worst loopers when I play survivor well occasionally I manage to carry them if killer is on me. But why even once I can't get these survivors. Sweaty pc killers I get though. I think they should separate pc and console players.

The problem is that you're trying to enforce the narrative where fun can't be competition and this should apply to everyone. In every game where there's a "verus" you have to expect there will be people tryin hard to win. To me competition IS fun

But my friend we're both right, the issue is to have only one single mode and we're both forced to play in the only mode we have so there are players like you who want a fun and casual relaxing match and people like me who want to have a fun and hard sweaty game and that's the problem. It's like going to a chess tournament where pro players and regual players are put togheter, what do you think it will happen ?

What we should ask is a "ranked mode" ( or tournament mode or championship mode ) and a "unranked mode" ( or training ground or fun mode ) so you can play in your enviroment and i can play in my enviroment but, as long only one game mode exist, we have to play as we prefer because, by design, is what they want

Usually players tunnel to have easy game without competion. Well if you do that every game is your goal 100 win streak or more? That's like only way to be competive. Most matches are easy to win no matter how you play but getting big win streak that's hard.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/394982/tunneling

Alright, so lets do some math here.

    • Match starts and the killer has Lethal and picks a survivor and decides to hard tunnel them immediately.
    • Survivors often spawn on the opposite end of the map as the killer and generally somewhat spread out to take at least 1-2 gens immediately with the 3rd taking a few seconds.
    • Average map size is 100x100 square meters, so in order to cross the other end of the map, assuming killer spawns around 16 meters into the map, and objectives spawn around 16 meters into the map, it will take the killer 14.8 seconds to reach the survivors.
    • Around 32 meters in the survivors should start hearing the terror radius and should be able to start reacting to them
    • Let's assume you have terrible reaction time, and don't start running away for about 3 seconds, meaning the killer is now 22.2 meters away from you.
    • Lets assume you are really bad at the game, and don't use any pallets or windows, but just shift +w away
    • The killer gains 0.6 meters of distance and needs to get within 3.61 meters to do a lunge at max range.
    • It takes the killer 30.9 seconds to hit you.
    • You get as peed boost, giving you a distance of 14.4 meters.
    • The killer takes 18 seconds to catch up and hit you again
    • The killer is in hit animation for 2.7 seconds
    • The killer picks you up for 3 second animation
    • The killer walks to a hook taking ~10 seconds
    • The killer hooks you taking 1.5 seconds for animation

Now, you have been hooked 1 time, and the total match time as been:

    14.8 + 30.9 + 18 + 2.7 + 3 + 10 + 1.5 = 80.9 seconds.

Even if the killer stood right on the hook, and you used AFC to unhook yourself, and let the killer hit you twice without moving, and then hooking you again. It would still take another:

    7 + 15 + 2.7 + 2.7 + 3 + 1.5 = 31.9 seconds per hook.

How exactly are you "getting tunneled out in 2 minutes with 5 gens remaining? What are you doing to go down so fast? What is your team doing such that after 2 minutes of the killer completely ignoring them they haven't completed at least 3 generators?

Reality does not work like that. You can't always just run in straight line.

Luck one. I got the whole P100 treatment: humping, tunneling, face camping, mori, slugging, hateful speech etc. I am not even a toxic player and my main (Jeff) is also not the typical toxic survivor.

I don't mind prestige when I play killer. it doesn't tell you anything special anyways.

I have one thing against an optional hidden prestige as people will then dodge lobbies with people who don't show Prestiges, just "because they have something to hide". It s similar with anon mode players but that is a different reason.

Overall it's better to just show them than hide. I should not be punished if I want to show it because one player might dodge lobby because some people hide it.

  • @RoastedGarlic said:

No thanks. Give a different reward for P100, like a skin.

I haven't played Survivor since Alien, but prior to that, I'd still get dodged several times prior to finding a Killer.

It should be optional hide to prestige. Most want to see it and show off. I never had dodging issue when played my P100 feng maybe killers left me just more alone if they didn't catch me immediatelly. But I want to show it. I have meg P26, Nea P26 and Ace P21 I want to show them as well.

I want to see my team prestige too sometimes I don't want to play with lower prestiges when they throw enough games. SoloQ is enough rough already. I don't even see my friend prestiges on lobby... P100 definetely should get skin it's much bigger grind than the old prestige system was and they got legacy skins.

No, you see, the event actions just waste time for both sides so we must all complain about funny side stuff adding on seasonal event... we must all complain so we will get boring events like some of them in the past with almost 0 gameplay addition so we all can play the same esport competetive not-casual at all game 24/7. All Killers should play Nurse and Blights anyway LMAO, anyone who doesn't play S tier killers is trolling and trowing the whole game, same for Survivors who just don't run the same S tier perks everygame, they just ruin the game. DbD is esport, don't forget!

You can be competive with A tier killers as long you have good pc that actually more important than what killer you play to some extent. Console nurse/blight is gonna suck compared to sweaty pc huntress. Now tell me who is actually trolling.

Yes, matchmaking 100% will not fix that. Because most survivors are just allergic to be any good at the game. 2 month of Alien matches and almost all still put turrets right in front of his exits. 3 months of new Onryo, still no one takes a tape. 1k hours, 3k and even 5k hours players still as awful at looping as me at 300 hours.

Just do gen simulator with Trapper bot, who miss attack right in front of him, and survivors like you will be the happiest players in the world.

There you said you only have 300 hours in the game.

Yeah, of course. That's why i win about 80-90% of games in sfw and about 70-80% of soloq if we count matches where everyone know how to play (if we pretend that mmr is working as intended).

Truth is game is pretty good balanced for average players, still super survivor sided on high level and killer sided on low level. Let me guess where you are, if you're so sure of what you're saying.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3564092#Comment_3564092

I agree, it's mostly common, no doubt. But survivors mindset is something extremely childish last time. I watched some streams while working on this week and 8/10 games survivors simply gave up at the beginning or middle of the game. And I went to play in this evening and in 4/8 games (for both sides) survivors gave up again. Tell me, has there ever been a time when killers gave up literally every second game if they didn't like something? Because I meet killers like this maybe once or twice a week.

And here you said you escape 80% on soloQ and 90% on swf you are probably one of the best players in the world if that information is correct so you should stream.

  • @NerfDHalready said:

it's not the killer's job to give last survivor the chance to get hatch.

Maybe not but killer who is not entitled probably don't want to drag the game forever for what 10% better chance to 4K and end the game naturally. Now it would be much better to have in game mechanic for 2vs1 maybe hatch spawning after some time when killer is slugging for 4K so there is risk both survivors escaping.

Tcm is far superior in that regard and even when you are last victim you have still chance to escape. Being last 2 it's pretty good chance one of you make it out at least.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3564624#Comment_3564624

No more than its the killers job to let the 4th one get hatch. They're two sides of the same coin.

I don't know I don't need 4K so badly that I slug for it just wastes incredibly among of time. I kill second last and go find hatch and close it and get the 4K anyway much faster 80% of the time. Now in this situation the survivor has chance to escape it's slim but they have reason to not hide and risk killer spotting them.

  • Yeah I have games like that too and have 3600 hours. I would think I gotten good with that amount of time but nope. But you know what is satisfying winning that type of game I had 1 hook before endgame and I was able to 4K with noed.

  • @Xernoton said:

Noed can be a bit of a trap. Especially, if you feel like you need it.

It will sometimes allow you to crutch back a game that you should actually lose and it can also have you feel like you can't win without it. If that is the case for you, I genuinely advise you to take it off for a bit and play with different perks. Just so that you don't get too used to playing the perk rather than the actual game.

I would also be interested to hear what second chances you mean specifically. You can play around most things in this game as long as you know how. Second chances aren't different. Not anymore.

(Thanks again for removing DH for distance, devs! 😘)

You ger the normal experience when you win before endgame. Noed is necessary for endgame gives always extra kill or two.

I always think people expect me to be good looper in swf. Big reason why I don't play it. I only play with my brothers though the other complains about everything you can imagine.

no thats very bad of an idea but a 2 vs 8 is a good idea i think for you you just need to practice as it is a skill issue

4 > 1 pretty simple math. You have to work 4X if not more to win no help nothing you have to constantly think can I commit this chase or do I have to defend gens do I have to tunnel etc. How that's skill issue?

Im all alone no-one to help me killer is truly the survivor. My winrate is 70% I think that's ok Im not sweatiest player. I can always get 2K from bad match but so much stress and so much work I want someone to help a teammate.

  • Is it in game now? I played couple games today didn't notice it. 2 on survivor and 1 killer game didn't camp though just chases. If it's on game I have to test it on bubba.

    Hello

First of all before survivors jump on my throat: No, survivors are not more powerful then killer. If any, the matchmaking in pub is even or more likely killer sided - at least in terms of numbers. I dont want to debate that either. Second, i am not a killer main, i play on average 60% survivor and 40% killer.

    But

Have you ever loged in DBD, intending to play killer, sitting there and thinking through witch killer to play and eventually switching to survivor (or closing the game) because you cant decide with what killer you want yourself stress out the next 5-10 minutes? This happens to me from time to time.

It almost feels like i am a little terrifyed even in advance to play that role. Dont get me wrong, i win most of my killer games, but sometimes alone thinking of it feels odd.

If you ever had this feeling, and i am sure some probably know what i am talking, why is that?

What makes playing killer so unpleasent? Or even the thought about a certain match?

And what is the solution to that problem? We are not talking here about "Buff killers", because that is surely not the issue, but rather how to make the game more enjoyable for us/them.

    Kind regards

I think it's becuause your solo and for some people playing solo is stressful and causes anxiety compared to playing team game. That's why I now just play killer on tcm and dbd survivor.

Still don't know why depip is a thing, I'm getting 3-4k majority of games and I still depip, I'm not understanding how it works and I don't care at this point, I think only way is to 3 hook everyone, zero camp/tunnel but it just doesn't work against good teams

just forget ranks and don't try to win so hard it's not worth it, play fun builds

Yeah but you could bit tune down the camping then you should at least safety pip when getting 3-4K and usually +1 pip. Tunneling is fine actually good way to pip if you after that share hooks. Only problem is if survivors give up.

So best is not to tunnel until you need to. You need 9 hooks to get iri devout and lot of chases to get iri chaser. Malicilous is tricky and you need to be lucky and hope survivors don't heal. Easy killers to do these are legion and wraith. But best are blight, nurse, spirit and wesker being the strongest killers.

But the truth is just play how you want and don't care about ranks/grades they just add salt to the wounds if you don't succeed. To get +2 pips you need perfect game and that all can be lost in next game if you depip. It's not worth all the effort.

  • Killer could use a friend that would make it lot let stressful. Hopefully in future we get 2vs4 mode things will be finally fair and not stressful for killer. 1vs4 is never going to be fair you just don't stand a chance agains't that big number advantage when everything is equal.

    It's not nerf.

    It's fix for abusing.

Do you remember when they reworked her irri add-on and all pigs were abusing this add-on with blocking one box for guaranteed kill or kills.

This should not exist. Fix the abusing.

But Pig should be buffed, i am totally supporting that.

Haven't seen pig for months so if that bug makes more people play her I don't complain.

  • I play some of them mostly wraith, bubba and oni currently. Occasionally I play demogorgon, nurse, dredge, trapper, myers, legion and wesker. Others I rarely play and almost never play trickster, hillbilly, deathslinger, clown, plague, blight and twins.

I have tried to find killer to main but I have not succeed so no-one is going to be P100 for me. Everyone has at least some cons. If I ever main someone it has to be S tier and not difficult to use on controller like nurse and I want normal 115% speed. So what I could hope is that Oni gets buffed to get his power much easier that would make him S tier well A tier on console.

Pig herself has some issues right now. Especially some Pigs are abusing Ultimate Weapon + Face the Darkness combo to make traps guaranteed kills.

I think i agree with Otz here. Make screams not reset the searching box, make it lose some progress.

So another nerf to pig? Like she is that strong killer...

You can literally still down them through that.

Camping nerf did virtually nothing to his potential.

Yes if they're bad and don't know to run to pallet or window. I don't see much potential in bubba compared to other killers. Survivors only go down to him when they make mistake. His power is so easy to loop. I do like facing him on survivor easy win if my team is not completely new or decide to throw match trying trade.
