Survivor will always be the power role, because they bring in the dollar.

BT is only a problem when survivors use it offensively - running around setting off all my traps, for example.
DS is similar.
DH is a gigantic pain in the pants though.
Agreed

They are going to make changes to the perk and base game because it's overused. This does not mean they are going to directly nerf it.
I doubt and can't see any changes they can make to the base game to make bbq & chilli less used. So it will be a direct nerf.

@IlliterateGenocide said:
Like tunneling is one of the most frustrating things in this game, having a perk that's only purpose is to DELAY tunneling being nerfed AGAIN seems unreasonable.
Its EXTREMELY BALANCED.
Hopefully they both get nerfed. Would be an amazing improvement to game balance.
-
Probably impotent and easily bullied Wesker. Per all recent new killers. Gotta keep those survivors happy.
-
I like the 2 vs 8 idea. Or even 1 vs 8 with slower gens. Having only 4 survivors with 1 killer is why survivor is the power role in this game.
I know it flopped, but Friday 13th had the right idea in that regard.

The fact that I'm in the minority on thinking this is a horrible idea makes me honestly reassess why I even play this game.
I really hope you... and I... are not in the minority here. Seriously worried for anyone who would get excited by this.
-
A dating sim??!! What an absolute sorry state of affairs. Seeing so many people actually get excited for this actually makes me a bit uneasy. Like... just... why? Why?
-
Tunneling is fine, camping is fine, gen rushing is fine. Let people play how they want to play. So long as its not flat out cheating / hacking.

Hot Take = Wrong Take

This is 100% correct, and a fact.

Stacking the best slowdowns corrupt, brine, pop, pain resonance.
How do you find it having no "chase" perks? The slowdown won't help if you can regularly hook survivors.
-
@Vakka said:
You have perks like Pain resonance and Deadlock that help you prevent gen progress right? Not to mention everyone's favorite hex perk, Ruin and Undying combo.
I get that you need to chase in order to down a survivor, but if you're spending that long chasing a single survivor while the others are doing gens, that's more of a personal proficiency issue rather than a balance one...
Wrong!

She basically has zero powers

Wait, the way you word that makes me think that regular Hex Totems can be blessed. I haven’t been using Hex Totems, so all the boons were on Dull Totems. I was assuming they needed to be dull (no?)
Survivors can, and often do, bless Hex Totems. When you cleanse them they become dull (they don't revert to Hex).

Are the hackers in general mainly survivors, or does it happen equally on the killer side?

Yeah Im a killer main too
Bob on though aren't I.
-
There really isn't such thing as "solo" survivor either. You have 3 other teammates in there with you to help with rescues and gens. You don't need to be on comms to run rings around most killers.
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2895864#Comment_2895864
Yeah I'd agree with that
Then again Killer can actually sometimes be easy but I feel that's a matchmaking thing
No doubt in my mind that Killer is harder role by default to me. Especially if you're newer
Fair comment.

@Brokenbones said:

Not a fair conclusion to come to imo
Killer is typically always hard due to the 4 v 1 nature and many other factors
Solo survivor is hard depending on various circumstances out of a solo players control. SWF is easier because you can tell your teammates what to do/coordinate properly
Ok. So killer always hard. Solo survivor "sometimes" hard.

@StarLost said:

I'd disagree. Both are difficult, in different ways. And I say this as a certified killer main.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2895060#Comment_2895060
You're...not wrong. There are a handful of posters on this forum that prevent a good, bipartisan discussion of what this game needs.
Nah. Even solo survivor you have 3 others to do gens, while you loop the killer. And it's not hard to loop most killers while at least 3 gens get done.
Killer has only themselves and can't be in 4 places at once.
-
Sorry, there is no skill to Dead Hard.
You either press a button to get you instantly to one ipf the many many many windows or pallets for your 3rd health state........ or you are in a map position where there isn't anywhere to save you and skill or otherwise is irrelevant.

@Sluzzy said:
The threads about killer being unfun and weak is getting old. Killers are not leaving either. Right now survivors are much faster to get in matches than killers during the peak of the day.
There has been 6 years of constant and unrelenting survivor nerfs to the extent that experienced killers practically never lose now because the game is so broken in favor of killer.
If you are not winning, all that can really be said is to git gud. Stop crying to BHVR to make the game easy for you. Survivors are practically spawning in the dying state as we speak.
And lastly, if you think killer is hard, please play solo matches. You will experience the hardest, most unfair, and most impossible thing in any video game. Survivors are extremely disadvantaged and this is why the game is losing its momentum. It is definitely not because "killers are weak".
Killer is hard. Solo survivor isn't.

The arugement from swfs would be that it would kill swfs being a thing, but they wont ask themselves why Killers don't enjoy versing swfs, and why solo players generally don't' like being with partial swfs.
It will just provoke a response that every killer or solo wants easy mode and they should get good.
But my proposal still allows people to group up. But it just gives the killer the option to avoid, or at least to know. Many high mmr killers might still want the challenge.
-
@NomiNomad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2889358#Comment_2889358
The answer is because SWF's are still likely paying customers, and BHVR would never risk doing something that puts a decent sized chunk of their playerbase in an infinite queue. They just won't.
I'm not sure they would be. Maybe even a trial to see how it would impact.
-
Why not give killers the option to dodge swf groups?
Either by having the flagged in the lobby, or by allowing for them to be "turned off", similar to cross play.
That way killers who aren't bothered by, or enjoy being stomped can still go against them if they so wish. But the rest of us are spared the misery.

Believe it or not, there are content creators and people who think she's A tier.
I'd go as far as saying she's the second worst killer in the game unless you're on an indoor map
Agree with this and agree with fhe comment the OP mentioned thst she feels like she has no power. That is exactly right.
The teleportation is a mess, given TVs get turned off. So gen pressure is virtually none existent.

So, I'm not looking into starting a debate whether Alien is coming to Dead By Daylight for the Anniversary or if Alien even fits, all I'm asking is what do YOU expect and/or wish for from an Alien Chapter.
I don't care, it could be anything, like a new map, Perks, Killer Power, completely new mechanics, Add-ons if you're crazy enough for that, etc.
Maybe I'll even make Poll and choose the most popular license and ask "what do YOU expect and/or wish for"
I'd expect another horror icon butchered by bhvr.

Survivor is sooooo easy. My god the whole game is built around survivors. I rarely play as survivor but when I do I play solo and it ain't hard at all.

The library part of the map is still a problem. There are no hooks near it and putting boil over just makes it impossible to hook them. I can’t even destroy the boom because everyone brought Boon: Expoential
The fact that this map even exists is one of the most baffling decisions in this entire game.

I need everyone’s opinion on this cause this is kind of tricky. Do you think the Ringu Chapter Flopped or didn’t? I think it did cause everyone has stopped talking about Sadako and her impact isn’t as big as Michael Freddy, PH or nemesis.
the fact that the player count didn’t even go up on a LICENSED character, and that no one is talking about her anymore. I need your opinions
The numbers will answer that, but she is another god awful, easily beaten Killer.

@Bubbalover said:
I meet toxic survivors in every Killer match i play. I never met a toxic Killer tho. Is there a reason for Survivors beeing super toxic?
Because they are entitled. They have a game built completely for their benefit so they either like to rub it in when they win, or cry "tunneling camper" when they lose.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
You're kidding right? While there is plenty of us vs them on here the amount of killer complaint threads absolutely dwarfs survivor ones. Not a day goes by without at least 2 or 3 nerf DH/DH is unfair threads. Same with CoH, maps, and gen speeds.
That's because survivor is great and OP. Playing Killer is miserable

@GoodBoyKaru said:
In my experience most of the "bad" players are on the killer side like "SWF shouldn't exist it's cheating and it's bannable" or "No Mither is OP" or some ######### like that.
Not saying there aren't terrible survivor mains, but from my experience interacting it just feels like there's more on the killer side.
You judge a players still based on how much they moan on the forums? Weird!

@Notionless said:
I want to clarify that i enjoy a lot of the killer patches theyve done, apart from billy, freddy and other minor changes. I also want to mention that theres still a lot of good they can do on that aspect, like address nurses and blights, rework the addons of PH and Twins and other good stuff.
I dont find this unnecessary at all.
What i find awful is how stale survivorside has gotten. In my last games i countinuously see the same rotation of 7 perks:
DH, BT, DS, CoH, Iron Will, UB and Prove Thyself.
Outside of that i also get the odd Sprintburst, Resilience, Adrenaline, Windows and Kindred.
Every game somewhat blends together with all the same perks. Its always wait for dh, wait out ds, no hit and run repeated endlessly.
The games I remember best and am most engaged in are the games with a random flashbang, lucky break/overcome, Blast mine, breakout, saboteur, quick and quiet & co. They usually get less value but id rather get finessed by a clean flashbang save than unwillingly tunnel someone aggressively using DS and BT for the 6th time in a row.
Killer doesnt have that problem imo, its gotten a lot better than corrupt, ruin, pop, tinkerer. Now theres also agitation/stastruck, enduring/spirit fury, DMS/pain res, Ruin/surveillance, and also single perks like lethal pursuer, NWO, call of brine and the list goes on.
I dont blame survivors for this either. Getting tunneled and camped for 3 times in a row sucks, and players throwing on their anti tunneling perks doesnt mean they want to sweat their balls of, its just a lot more comfortable.
I love the new Wake up, but its never going to be as good as BT or CoH. Balancing perks is not childs play, and I think the game devs should take a serious look at the other side of the coin, do rework the way they do it with the Legion and Ghostface currently, but at survivor as a whole instead.
Prove Tyself needs to get in the bin. Gen speed is fast enough without perks to buff it even more.

I think Simfeliz is more accurate. I mean I have had killers go after another survivor so hard where one or more others were body blocking to protect and they didnt bother taking swings, prior to the gens being done.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2881256#Comment_2881256
If after a survivor does a clicky and you chase I think it removes the tunnelling phase. That is saying come after me not them.
Either way, it is not a negative and not a problem.

@Jallybwan said:
...is that it's strong no matter whose hands it's in.
I'd like to think at this point "just bait it out" is slowly fading out of the discussion around DH, because we all know at this point you can't bait out a Dead Hard for distance. If you're in a position to bait out DH, they're not using DH well.
The problem is that DH bails out bad players, and makes good players borderline untouchable. Do you see new survivors panic dead harding into walls and going down instantly? Yeah, of course. Do you see people meming around with it to get flashlight saves or take 1x10^82 hits at the hook? Yeah, definitely.
But if people are actually, seriously using Dead Hard to win, it's going to give them a huge advantage no matter how skilled they actually are in chase. It's a panic button for when you make a mistake or get mindgamed, giving you just enough distance to get to a pallet or window or around a corner to dodge the hatchet flying your way. Even just as an "oh #########" reaction button, it turns "I went down" into "I got to the window" or "I stunned the killer".
But it's not just a panic button. In the hands of a skilled player, it stops being a panic button and starts being a third health state. Good players aren't going to be using DH to dodge a hit, because good players are never going to be more than one DH's distance away from a window or pallet. That's what makes it such a huge part of the meta. To an inexperienced player, it's a panic bailout. To an experienced player, it's a third health state. If you have even the slightest amount of confidence in your looping, you will get use out of the perk.
As for how I would change Dead Hard, I don't think I'm qualified to answer that question, because every single change I would make to it would bury it 6 feet under next to Twins. I hate the perk too much to give an impartial balance suggestion.
Open to discussion on the topic, although I think at this point we've all realized the perk needs a change.
