Most public matches I see DH usually on 3/4 survivors.
Same. I've never seen such a meta on any perk, even in old ruin days.
Says it all about how broken and OP this perk is really.

Dear survivor mains...
If you T-Bag during chase, at the exit gate, click flashlights faster than life itself, you are considered to be a prick and are no better than those toxic campers/tunnelers you so despise.
Learn to play the game casually and stop trying to gloat.
We're all here to have fun, not frustrate one another for personal amusement.
Exactly this

It's basically a proven fact at this point that if you have enough meta perks as survivor, you can overcome anything. Specifically Dead Hard gets you out of jams, or puts you in that much more of an advantage, more than the killer can possibly handle. You can't beat 3 health states on 3-4 survivors. It's impossible. Any time you get close to downing them, they can extend the chase by 30 seconds at will. If you're not an instadown killer, you've automatically given yourself a disadvantage, and even if you are, the survivors don't have to heal, so they can keep their 2 health states again (1 Dead Hard then 1 injured). And the perk does has a downside (since people think killer add-ons having downsides makes them balanced) of a mere 40 seconds, which encourages you to commit to downing them after they've Dead Harded to safety, so you won't have to deal with it again when you see them in the next minute. Especially on maps with god loops *ahem* well designed breakable walls, Dead Hard shows its unfairness. You can't bait out someone getting extra distance so they make it to a no-mindgame, no-gameplay loop. You just have to deal with it.
All these strategies and combos people are saying that makes killer "OP", like Pinky Finger Clown, Alchemist's Ring Blight, Cherry Blossom/Ring Spirit, Pain Resonance/Pop, can have their momentum completely ruined by 1 single Dead Hard. Or DS, which they could have on top of Dead Hard. Doesn't matter if they made a mistake. Their perk bails them out, and unlike "killer second chance perks" (not a real thing), it's active instead of passive. The survivors press a button to gain them extra distance, whereas perks like I'm All Ears and PWYF are either inconsequential or come in at times when you don't need them to/don't come in at times when you need them most.
Why do you think we complain about this perk so much? Because we're not skilled enough to beat it? Because we had 1 bad match? No! It's because the perk is broken and takes no skill! Why would 90% of survivors, or at least those who actually know what they're doing, run it?!
At the very least, and if the devs care at all about their killer main community, this perk needs to be nerfed ASAP.

she is definatly viable, maybe we just have different views on what is viable but imo it is an exaggeration calling her "not viable". She is easily mid tier which are the majority of Killers.
I should add, I respect your opinion, though it differs from my own.

Remove the lullaby, improve her stealth, make condemned something to think about, tv placement and mechanic.
Improve any of these and I would call her viable. Otherwise she is an M1 killer with basically no powers.

No one said she is a viable killer, Killers are not created to be the new top tier Killer. Especially for license chapters they dont have that much freedome, they have to stick to the character of the Killer and the source material.
But she should be at the very least viable. Viable doesn’t mean tip tier, but she shouldn't be this poor, no way
And she'd be 100% better if they stuck to source.

This was the question that finally made me create an account.
But in all seriousness I enjoy playing as the Clown, Trickster, Trapper, Ghostface, Legion, Doctor and Wraith. I have played every killer in the game and these guys are my favorite to play. Don't get me wrong, I know it is possible to 4k as them but it isn't as easy if you were to play as a good Nurse, Blight or Spirit. I have played those 3 killers and I don't enjoy their mechanics. When I hear a glass bottle shattering and or see some bear traps in my survior games I am excited because it's not a Huntress, Nurse or Spirit. Variety I love when it comes to perk builds, add-ons, items, killers and survivors.
If you leave a comment please be nice and let me know if you play a "bad" killer and why you play them.
There are more than 7 bad killers.
-
Unquestionably the worst mechanic they added in. Proof of how biased to survivors the game is, that boons even exist in their current format.
-
She needs soooooo much it's unreal. Kinda embarrassing anyone thought she was a good idea for a viable killer.

I am literally gonna quit this game cuz of tunneling meta, what's the point of even trying to play this game, if you get hooked first you're the first to die? and bt ds and uk are useless against a killer who commits to you for literally no reason. Like how desperate are killers for a win? rank just reset and Iam getting facecamped in ash 4 by 2-3-4k hrs killers ######### is that #########? Am I not allowed to play this game cuz I picked survivor over killer? I lost like ######### 20 games in a row and for some reason I get even worst killers every game...
Tell it to the Devs. As soon as they make a game that means killers don't need to tunnel, it will reduce.

seriously. why should i get stressed being looped for hours and applying non existant pressure because of healing when i can just sit on a hook and then grab another survivor to slug. it's literally so easy and it's a guaranteed 2k at the very least, if not more.
You nailed it. Camping is now the most efficient way to get a kill. Take a Mori too, in case you get them to second hook and they do get rescued. Tunnel and eliminate the risk from DS.
Then when it's down to 3 Vs 1 it's a fair match.

Been playing since 2018 just after clowns release and have been playing both sides since I started. I won't get into too much detail in this particular post unless you want an entire book, but my general thoughts on the 7 categories:
- The killer balance is poor imo, too small of a pool is viable. I think differentiating "Killer" from "Nurse, Blight, Spirit" is important here. The few killers at the top might be fine, but the vast majority of the killer roster isn't. A team of 4 good survivors will win against a good killer in most cases. Game in general favors survivor way too often, Killer as a whole is underpowered.
- From my perspective, the good survivor perks are way too strong or have no consideration to multiple being run; and they give killer perks too many conditions/CDs (see Dragons Grip). Perks need to be addressed faster and with bigger changes. DH and CoH are really hurting the game and have been for a while now, they should have been addressed by now. Like CoH breaking the game? Eh, barely nerf it. Even easy fixes like removing collision from BT aren't even talked about. The strong survivor perks do too much when multiple are running them, which is going to happen if they're strong. Boons are too much if even 1 gets put up. Giving survivors "free" health states/second chances is too common. Boons are just better hexes when that should really be reversed. On the other end perks like Monstrous Shrine and Slippery Meat have been left untouched for eons.
- Maps generally are too big and have too many pallets/safe loops. Obviously depends on which map but in general maps favor survivors too heavily/often. Breakable walls were badly executed and just make god loops, they put way too many in a lot of maps as well. Gen times are tied to this as gens go too fast for how long it takes to get a down, and it takes so long to get a down because of the map design. One needs to change, gens or chase times. So its either longer chases and longer objectives, or shorter chases and shorter objectives, not longer chases but short objectives like it currently is.
- Med kits have always been a problem but healing in general seems to always be a problem. Maybe base healing should just take longer idk. Toolboxes exacerbate the already problematic gen times. Broken key should have something base kit and not be reliant on add-ons just to function. Maps need more base duration. Flashlight just needs to get fixed/changed so you can't get blinded by someone not even on your screen.
- Add-ons are a wild spectrum, and that's kind of a problem imo. There's killers that have mostly trash add-ons like PH, then you have killers like Blight and Myers whose add-ons can get very strong if not outright broken. They need to be brought more towards a middle ground. On the survivor side, add-ons feel more appropriately tuned because the items all do their job at base minus the broken key, so the add-ons are just a little extra for the most part. Some are really really strong like the syringe and the Styptic (bottled time). Add-on balance is all over the place.
- My main gripe with offering is map and hook offerings, they should just be removed imho. 9/10 times they're just used to abuse a map in one way or another. Mori's feel weak now, before they were definitely too strong but now it feels like a waste to even use them.
- Luck just has a little too much variance and impact and can be reigned in a little. Gates should always spawn on opposite sides of the map for example. 4% needs to go imo, it just lets survivors self sacrifice or get a unhook that can change the entire game and makes killer's camp for fear of them getting off when they have everyone else down/dead.
They need to start balancing the game around good survivors with communication. Right now it seems like they balance around bad survivors and survivors with no communication so when either of these aren't true the game falls apart really fast. 4 good solos will still run over most of the killer roster. They also need to give survivors a chat wheel/ping system.
One of the best articulated and factual posts I've read for a while. Great points.

the thing is CoH is a good counterplay, and self-care is just a bi-atch. it just takes time for you to heal, and with call of brine and/pop goes the weasel, you wont do any objectives, and by that time you finished healing, your gens are back to 0%. and by the time you spent being looped, you already destoyed ALL OF THE PALLETS with no gens done. you may healed yourself, yes, but healing wont finished you any gens, healing wont open the gates for you.
You forget there are 3 other teammates doing gens etc while you look the killer for 10 minutes. That's the issue. It is so easy to loop the killer for a long long time, by the time they down you (2 hits, or basically 3 because of DH), at least 2 gens will be done.
Then rinse repeat again, given the sheer volume of pallets. It would take a 30 minute game to break them all, and by that time it's tebaagging in the exit gate o clock.
The idea all pallets can be broken with no gens done is laughable.

A) Stealth Killer with a lullaby (what were they smoking?)
B) Tvs can be turned off (power = toilet).
C) No chase or loop power (for real).
D) Condemned.... (less than useless. Most pointless gimmick in all DBD).

There are a few small topics I want to touch on here, but I'd like to preface this with the obligatory do not harass the devs disclaimer. I'm not trying to direct hate towards anyone at BHVR as I know they're just trying to do their jobs, but I think all feedback is important, regardless of whether it's good or bad.
To start with, I love the recent comparisons with hockey because it shows the massive rift in understanding of the game between the devs and the playerbase. DBD is not hockey (roll credits) and I think that should be abundantly clear. The comparison to a sport like hockey implies that DBD is a symmetrical competitive game with clearly defined win conditions, of which it is none; DBD is an asymmetrical party game with a great many ways to get to the end result of either kills or escapes.
What do I mean by that? Well, in hockey the literal only way to win the game is to score more goals than the opposing team, and the only way to score those goals is to take repeated shots on goal. In DBD on the other hand, it's not that simple. As killer there are multiple ways I could go about achieving a 4k — I could 4 man slug and bleed people out on the ground, I could tunnel out one survivor then deal with the rest, I could facecamp and bank on NOED, or I could shoot for a 12 hook. I'm pretty sure we can all acknowledge which of those things is the most skillful way to play, yet the system as it stands disincentivizes that playstyle because it doesn't care about the nuances of how you play, but only the end result.
Going for a lot of hooks as killer inherently decreases your chances of getting kills, but it's typically the most fun way to play for all parties involved. Along the same vein, playing super altruistic and trying to get as many people out as possible inherently increases your chances of dying, but it's typically the most fun way to play. The MMR system actively punishes you for being the one to go for saves or for being the nice killer who doesn't like to tunnel.
Essentially what I'm saying is the notion that the current MMR system can work is predicated on the idea that all players are the same and only play with the end goal of kills/escapes in mind. The issue there is that leaves no room for anyone just playing for fun, and even I am finding myself shying away from playing weaker killers or off-meta builds anymore because of the competitive mindset that is being forced on the entire playerbase.
It's not about the metaphor itself, but more the general attitude conveyed by it. The devs believe the nuances of how you play do not matter because of the general idea that skilled players win more often. But how do we define skill? What is a win? Is it more important that people prioritize kills by any means and only run the best builds with the best items/add-ons, or more important that we just let people play the game and have fun? I'm probably not the first killer main to say I had more fun in the days of old DS and old Object, not because of unfair and unbalanced perks, but simply because despite all the broken and busted things, underneath there was a cool party game where winning and losing wasn't the only thing on my mind.
Enjoyed reading this.

Come ye toxic survivors and entitled killers of this forum and answer me this riddle which hath plagued me for so long -
What's the deal with clicking your flashlight once and then trying to 360? Because I've seen this plenty of times in the past but more often recently...
I confess it may be possible that despite playing since 2018 I might, occasionally, as killer, sometimes, and definitely not all the time, now and then, once in a blue moon get 360'd (and not often, I simply cannot stress this enough)
But honestly literally never with this, because the singular click is a statement of your intention to do it...and then I expect it...and then you go on the floor
So what is this, is there some tactical element I'm missing?
Just another easy survivor glitch in a survivor sided game.

Loops are a joke and way way too powerful. Every map has pallets and windows mere metres away from each other.
Its so easy for even a low skull survivor to loop the killer for a few gens. Rinse repeat. Nothing the killer can do

I played 5 games today after not playing for 3 weeks and 2 of them were bubba’s that facecamp. Bubba is a fun killer to play against but all games end up the same with a bubba camping a survivor at 4 gens because they looked at him funny.
His basekit is fine but something has to be done about his ability to facecamp, especially when a survivor is hooked in the basement. Not even BT can save someone if the bubba doesn’t screw up.
What bhvr could do is that if a bubba uses his chainsaw within 5 meters of a hooked survivor, they only lose 1 healthstate so hooked survivors actually have a chance to play the game. Survivors would also not be able to abuse it because of the short 5 meter range. Thoughts?

I'd love to see some attempts to justify this thing that has become about 80% of matches against killers.
A) You know that no gens are being worked on, or the survivors are rushing the hook.

C) Killer can do what they like. Its their game too.
