None of those killers are what drew me to the game. I own literally none of them. The gameplay is what drew me in; I heard consistent praise for the gameplay across social media and forums.
All good video games are unbalanced. Truly balanced games are ****ing boring. There's a reason why eSports is dominated by games like League of Legends (A hilariously imbalanced game in a multitude of ways), and not online chess.
If the devs were ignoring feedback, there wouldn't be community managers and developers replying to threads on this forum, on a regular basis. There wouldn't be balance changes and design choices being made with the community's feedback in mind. This level of direct interaction with the community is a rarity in the gaming industry.
Compared to the vast majority of online multiplayer games, DBD's player retention is astoundingly high. Most online multiplayer games die long before their third anniversary, or at best, are reduced to a tiny community of diehard fans. You really don't know how good you have it here.
Sure it also true the gameplay draws people in as well, but mainly its movie killers and movie survivors that draw people in. For me, both the gameplay, and movie killers and survivors are what drew me to the game.
Also yes a completely balanced game is boring, except the unbalance in DBD is that the survivors are the power role, and as a killer you are very stressed. As well as solo survivor is sometimes hard to play as due to a multitude of factors.
Also yk what DBD lacks than every other game you metioned, is if the best of the best played together, each gets a 50/50 chance to win with the best stuff, while in DBD if the best of the best played, mostly the survivors will win about 60 to 70% of the time against high tier killers. Against mid tier and low tier killers, they would get absolutely demolished.
The only reason DBD has a "high player retention" is because the people who quit are replaced by new players who want to try out the game. Not many stay playing the game after like a month of playing the game.

Oh, still pretty cool.
It sounds cool, but the fact is Feral Frenzy will no longer be a basic attack which basically kills his perk loadouts (STBFL, Sloppy Butcher, and perks like that don't work while in FF, which basically means the nerfs outweigh the buffs). My as well add that FF doesn't even harm the survivor and just makes them press m1 for 8 sec.
Idk what the Devs were thinking, but apparently they like to nerf low tier killers.

It's extremely rare for an online multiplayer game to keep growing after 3 years. The vast majority of online games experience a steady decline in population post-launch. Dead By Daylight's continued success and growth is a huge anomaly compared to other games.
Fortnite already accomplished this, but I think not only the discounts are driving people to the game, but also some movie killers such as: Michael Myers, Freddy, Pig, Demogorgon, and Ghostafce.
Though OP does make major point, the game is unbalanced, and all the Devs are doing is ignoring feedback, and are just releasing cosmetics.
The thing is the game is slowly growing, mainly because DBD has poor player retention. If the Devs decided to fix the game, and balance it, it would increase the player retention.

Not to mention, it doesn't actually show how many players actually STAY to play Dead by Daylight in the long run. Imagine if 60-80% of the player numbers shown on the charts are actually players who'll stop playing Dead by Daylight within a week or two, and they're just constantly being replaced by other new players who got the game through a sale.
The "new player" experience that Dead by Daylight have is known to be one of the worst out there.
You basically explained my point about player retention, and how DBD barely achieve a small player retention.

nope becose he gets all time free hit from it or get downed after he hit you first so this is way to strong
Those traps only work when you are asleep, there are so many ways to get out of dream mode, but sure its easier to blame the killer right
Devs said they are satisfied with freddy and won't change him, and he just got his rework. Let the killer be, he suffered for two years with a mechanic that made him the worst killer in the game

There it is. You've proven that no matter how much evidence there is, the other side is 'more' to blame for you. Which is a pathetic stance.
….
The thing is its still true thou, there are multiple videos showing toxic and salty survivors compared to killers. I see this ingame, but apparently saying something true is now very bad according to you.
Also would you like to explain to me why do survivors DC a lot compared to killer, because if DCing isn't toxic then idk what is?

I'm finding that both sides are toxic AF and I have to work damn hard not to fall into the trap of being like them and adding fuel into the fire. Sorry that you blame survivors only. It doesn't matter whos tarted it, I don't really know nor care, but that does need to stop...the game is becoming painful to play as both sides because of it, alongside other issues.
Both sides are toxic, except the survivor side are usually the most toxic, and the ones that DC on anything they don't like the majority of the time. I rarely encounter the killer doing the same when playing survivor.

I experienced something similar yesterday, well more like, in end game chat.
It was a Ghostface with an Ebony and tryhard add ons and a Survivor put a Gideon offering, i just DC'd at the start and went afk, i came back just before the end and saw how someone still managed to escape.
End game chat he pointed out how trash the killer is for using an ebony, good add ons with only 3 survivors and still not managing to kill all.
I'm not saying that David's behaviour was justified, he could've been nicer. But at the same time i can understand him, it's very frustrating going against a mori and good add ons on top of that, aka tryhards.
Well the thing is that David shouldn't be complaining since he was with a 3-man SWF. As a killer, you can already expect that the match will most likely be unfun, so at that point why shouldn't you put on a mori and tryhard add ons. I would do the same so I can basically get some form of enjoyment out of that game.

SWF is included in the data because it's all matches.
So you want an entire different stat for SWF matches vs non SWF matches? And then from there, do you also want it broken down into a separate chart for 2SWF with 2 solo, 2 SWF with 2SWF, 3 SWF with solo, and 4 SWF? That's just a waste of time and ridiculous to even consider doing. Doesn't make too much of a difference tbh. SWF groups are more altruistic and make dumber choices most of the time (I know because I play in 4 man squads often and my friends do dumb things to make sure I get out, and I do the same to make sure they escape)
Yeah, it also includes matches where survivors DC mid game. So what's your point here?
It's already an undeniable fact that the top 3 killers can deal with the best of the best, while most other killers will struggle and most likely end up losing.

Just played 5 straight 4k games with trapper without using any add-ons. 2 games no generators were completed. 2 games 2 generators were completed and 1 game 1 generator was completed.
I did use Ruin.
Killer mains will complain, but this just goes to show how unbalanced the game is..
Not fun to play 50% of the time as a survivor. Not difficult enough to play 50% of the time as a killer.
Yes I get that taking Ruin off would make the game more interesting, but at the same time, when the goal is to kill all of the survivors, why would I want to allow them any more advantage?
Also what rank are you, for this to be that easy you would need to be at rank 16 to 20.

Survivor is definitely easiER. But not easy. Especially a killer who refuses to waste ANY time.
Technically it can be considered easy by the pipping system, considering its easy to pip as a survivor compare to a killer. But when not using the pipping system, you are correct in that statement.

Freddy slowing the game down is fair play? Play solo surivior.
Funny how I do play solo survivor, and reach red ranks playing solo.
Freddy's slowdown is annoying, yes, but its completely beatable. It's fair play, just as how its considered fair play to play with SWF.
Freddy's slowdown perks help prevent the gen rush, which now most killers, if not all killers need some form of a slowdown perk in order to build momentum to in order to pressure survivors. Any player who plays killer at red ranks knows this.

Sorry if we want reasons as to why she should be nerf, because god forbid we don't want to nerf a mid tier killer.

This is just a small idea of mine that I would admire on the Plague's gameplay:
"While corrupt purge is active, you may no longer see scratch marks of running survivors"
Let me know any other buffs/nerfs you'd like to see on her.
This has to be a joke...
Plague is a mid tier killer, and her power can be controlled by survivors. She's also an m1 killer, where survivors can literally just stay sick, work on gens, and just loop her. Plague at red ranks is pretty bad for her because of the things I just describe.
In order to nerf corrupt plague, being sick from vile plague should give a downside.

During 2016-2017 dark times killrate was around 50-60 % .
Thxs for the info, but my point still stands. Just cause the kill rate is around 60 to 70%, doesn't mean that play killer is fine.

Since when killrate is useless info ?
In 2016, the Devs showed a kill rate of all killers, where it was said to be 60 and 70% (remember this was the dark times, where pallet vacuum, double pallets, infinites, etc.). Survivors said it was fine and that the game was balanced at that time. It's the same situation now, where some survivors are saying that the game is balanced, while SWF is still the same, gen go by way to fast, too many safe pallets, etc.
This killrate doesn't even show the different platform killrates, as all platform killrates are put together.

Sorry but there are too many things not accounted for in the statistics that make the statistics meaningless.
How many of the games had at least 1 DC?
Are DC's counted as a kill?
Also, tome challenges are a factor (focusing on the challenge, not escaping or suciding on first hook after completing the challenge).
Dc's aren't counted as a kill, but I bet part of those stats are botched because there are many games where Survivors DC, and the remaining survivors are killed easily.
Some of those kills are matches where its either a 3vs 1, and 2vs1.

What happens to your killer que times when 30%-40% of survivor players quit because they can't even use perks?
This is only for SWF, and this is technically balanced since SWF essential gets coms and teamwork.
2-man SWF: Both lose 1 perk (in total the group still get 6 perks)
3-man SWF: Each will lose 2 perks (In total the group still get 6 perks)
4-man SWF: Each will lose 3 perks (In total the group gets 4 perks)
Currently SWF is the power role of the game, and a 2-man SWF gets 8 perks in total, 3-man SWF get 12 perks, and 4-man gets 16 perks, and combine that with coms and the exceptional teamwork, they basically will overpower any killer that isn't a spirit.
And as the person said above, why is there a "Depip Squad" yet we haven't had a "Depip Killer" (which will never happen as no killer in the game can consistently depip survivors every game).

Try playing Wraith for a challenge, getting BM'd and meme'd on the entire game, then when you finally get one person, they DC and have their friends send you hatemail :/.
Point is, it goes both ways, vicious cycle my friend, vicious cycle.
The most funny and sad survivor DC was when I was playing wraith with the ghost and coxcombed clapper addons, on the Game map. After I grab a survivor off a gen, he DCed instantly and his other 2 friends DCed as well. The last survivor just wanted me to hook him, and after the game was glorious.
They stuck around to the end to complain that I was using "OP" addons on the "OP" wraith, and they start complaining about how I'm trash and such. I didn't bother answering back considering it was like trying to talk to a wall.

Freddy has already been nerfed after his rework. Placing a trap removes the bloodlust now.
Well im expecting another nerf as people are DCing even if they even see a freddy, I was planning to buy him this month, but now I don't want to waste money on a killer that may be nerfed, since there is a DC epidemic, and the fact that when survivors DC a lot against a certain killer usually mean BHVR will now look into the killer and find a way to nerf it.
The Nurse nerf reminded me about this, the last DLC I bought was Legion, and im not planning to buy anymore due to this DC epidemic and the fact that DCs could mean a nerf for a killer.

Yeah, problem is I don't think survivors are going to stop there, the next killers they are going to try and get nerfed are either, Billy, Freddy, or Plague (seriously survivors are calling plague unfun and are starting to DC against her....)

This is probably the only change I really don't like. I can understand wanting to decrease the strength of this add-on, but I see it as completely worthless now. Speed is incredibly important. If you cut down on the speed during phase walk you make it so she can't catch up in certain situations. Sure the duration is much longer now, but with it having a penalty this big I honestly don't see myself using it as a Spirit main.
Currently, Yakuyoke Amulet is basically a combination of Kaiun Talisman, Rin's Broken Watch, and Muddy Sports Day Cap (3 yellow add-ons). It is indeed a very strong add-on and I wouldn't disagree that maybe it needs to be toned down. But this is too much of a nerf. Instead I suggest you just tone down the figures so that it acts more like a combination of Zōri, Shiawase Amulet, and Origami Crane (3 brown add-ons). This keeps it more or less as it was but it's just a weaker version is all. Being a purple rarity I think this is reasonable. The add-on does not need a drawback, it's meant to be use with other high tier add-ons.
The other changes I can support (though I'm iffy on the vaulting change), but this one in particular I think is a bad move.
Yeah, I felt that Yakuyoke amulet changes mainly were nerfed into the ground.
I think a better change was to just really only remove the recharge rate decrease
-
Honestly, the Spirit change doesn't look that bad except for Yakuyoke's amulet, that add on looks like its going to be a bad add on. You get an extra 3.5 seconds for the haunting, but you go -15% slower, that doesn't seem like a very rare add on, and it should be dropped to rare rating.

typical victim shaming. pathetic.
the survivor already has to deal with a camping, tunneling doctor and a dc... but he should be mad at Jake or claudette. I could understand being mad at Feng.
but claudette, she's not even going to get to play in this round... The killer decided that she's only going to be allowed to play hook simulator (tap buttons to enjoy your stay).
and Jake, he likely just wanted to get the round over with at this point...
meanwhile, the killer is being toxic and sweaty... I main killer and it drives me up a wall to see my fellow killers play like this... it ruins the game. 4 people have a ######### round so that 1 loser can get his rocks off by bullying them.
Victim shaming?
Dude it doesn't matter how the killer played, you don't get to harass the killer for committing to a playstyle.
The OP was prepared to harass and trash talk the killer for just camping and tunneling (aka a playstyle), also there are many perks out there that counter camping and tunneling, if you don't use them that's on you.

You don't say some words, and then end your sentence with "the coward" if you want to say something informative. Saying "the coward" implies you are about to harass someone.

Killer: Doctor
I'm the survivor, rank 1, and I'm going insane. (Wish I'd remembered to record the match).
I'll try to keep this brief but debatably entertaining. We're on Ormond, the killer is shocking Feng. She get's downed then instantly disconnects. Lucky for her, she left this sh**show early. Me and the Jake work on separate generators while Claudette gives crazy man the run around. By the time Claudette gets hooked, we've completed three generators. Doctor decides to camp Claudette until she is literally 1 second away from dying before I save her. I save her, killer ignores me and re-hooks the Claudette. Now she's back at the campfire leaving me and the Jake alone.
(Why do you camp and tunnel?)
Fast forward. It's Jake's turn to run the mad man around. I complete another generator during this time and proceed to the last gen but unfortunately Jake gets slugged.
(It's sweat for 4K time!)
I'm making my way to Jake while trying to remain undetected to pick him up. I pick him up and the killer comes back and chases Jake again. He slugs him again and I'm near screaming because of that darn insanity meter. I hide in a locker nearby to keep from giving my location away when I notice Jake crawling and shaking toward my locker.....with the killer right behind him.
(Why are you doing this, Jake? The f***ing betrayal. Don't you want me to help you? Don't you know lockers help keep you sane!?).
Fast forward. I'm being chased by the scary man across the map. I eventually run past the hatch. Jake bleeds out and I get slugged precisely on top of the hatch and I escape.
I escaped such an annoying player. I wanted to message them some words but their settings prevented me from doing that. The coward.
TL;DR Stop camping. And stop ratting out your fellow survivors when you feel you want them to die along with you.
Thanks for reading my grief.
And this ladies and gentlemen is how the stereotypes of survivors is made, OP complains about camping and tunneling, and then attempts to harass the killer after the match.
Yes, the jake was in the wrong and should be reported, but you are going to attempt to harass and insult the killer after the match, for committing to a playstyle?
Fun fact: Blame your teammates not the killer.
Yk its people like you that made me stop being "nice" to survivors. I got really tired of be insulted almost every game based on what I did in the match. Usually if like 2-3 people DCed, I would let the survivors go, but not anymore.

Nurse still isn’t easy to counter, can’t say how spirit will be and the devs do nerf survivors.
When was the last time Devs nerfed survivors? The last time I remember was a survivor perk, which was MoM and that was months ago, but not the survivor itself. The last time a survivor itself was nerfed was when it was to make the game balanced around 2017 and get out the Dark Times, since survivors were the power role.

@Quol said:
Devs dont have unlimited time and so they need to ration what they focus on. Its easier (faster and costs less) to nerf 1 killer than to buff+balance 10 killers. I would love it if they buffed the lower rank killers but its just easier to nerf Spirit while slowly working on the lower ranked killers, which is what they are doing now.
The reason nerfing is easier for the Devs, as it usually means nerfing a killer to the ground.
Nerfing to balance (like actual balance), is just as hard as buffing + balance, as a Dev would have to find values where it would make the killer balanced, but strong as well, they would have to also test values to see if it would make that specific killer weak.
But that's not what the Devs in this game are doing, they just do Nerf or nothing.

Lol that's golden, Also add that the doctor gives himself illusions and has to snap out of it after each time he changes from treatment to punishment mode, and punishment mode to treatment mode, in which after the Doc completes a snap out of it, it gives survivors a 25% buff in everything

I never said Killers should sit and do nothing, but current Killers have no stance.
For killers to make a stance, it would require killers to either boycott playing the game, review bomb or DC just as much or more than survivors, or something similar in those forms.
Except 2/3 options are super scummy (review bombing and Dcing) and shouldn't be encouraged more.
The real non-scummy and much better alternative is really to just boycott playing the game, except I don't think many people will just not play the game for a day or two.

Sadly the Devs released a statement early 2019 that they will change Billy's adds on along with Nurse's add ons. We have already seen what they did to Nurse using the Add on changing excuse, and then they released a statement that they will tweak her power.
I bet they will give Billy the same form of treatment. Enjoy Billy while he lasts, because the Devs track record on "slight" changes or making killers "fun" on Killers usually results in them getting nerfed.

Yet these same survivors and streamers encourage DCing against something that they don't like. If you recall, there was a DBD stream, where streamers DCed against a killer that they didn't like. This was a recent stream, but it shows that they support DCing.

Not only that, but they would also need to buy the perks and packs. It's still basically a waste of money for the average person, to just prove a point.

People barely used nurse on console it's not like this changed much
Well this nerf probably caused the nurse population in consoles from very endangered to most likely extinct or like 10 people playing nurse on consoles.

no, it starts when you start your fatigue, so you need total 3.5 sec to have 2 blinks back after fatigue
Oh okay, I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the correction.

You guessed right, many did (including myself). I wasn't playing spirit at all before, now I P3ed her during the double bp event and I'm just playing her. Not touching Nurse anymore.
Yeah, I already mained spirit, and beore the nurse nerf, I was considering maining nurse. After the nurse nerf, I just dropped her.
I feel like after they nerf spirit 3 things will happen: Veteran players and killers will either quit the game or switch to survivor side, survivor queue times will get longer, causing survivors to derank or the Devs will change the MM again so that red rank surviors can vs any rank killer, and that the longer queue times and lack of killers may cause survivors to quit resulting in the game possibly dying.

The fatigue is not on top of the 6 second cooldown. The cooldown starts when the fatigue starts.
Actually I think they changed that when the patch was released, correct me if I wrong, but when they released the patch notes, they changed the cooldown so it happens right after the fatigue.

I seen your video, and suggested it to you on YouTube and on the forums.
What if Spirit left blue scratch marks behind her while she phases? To compensate, they could decrease her cool-down or increase her phase movement speed. ??
Spirit leaving blue scratch marks is a bad idea. It gives survivors too much information.
A better way to balance spirit would be: to remove collusion when she's phasing, either show survivors her hands when she switches to phasing or have her hair raise up to show she's phasing, and change prayer beads to iridescent rank or remove it.
