The PTB is tomorrow and I was wondering of what your gonna be excited about this new PTB with the Ringu Chapter.
If you wanna write something about this new PTB just don't be shy. Your in the right place to explain about this newcoming PTB and how your gonna explain and what you wanna see in this good chapter.
To be honest no not at all. It's just going to be another cash grab licensed killer who gets played for a while ,then nerfed, then forgotten to keep survivor side as "accessible to casuals" .
Honestly as much as I don't want to just ######### on the devs without even seeing any footage the fact that over and over again they made the balance lopsided I have no hopes in this being good.

Oh boohoo, at least you can't be face camped to death on your first hook as killer and basically not get to play a match.
No but survivors got enough second chance ######### to mitigate that.

2 of the 3 Boons aren't overpowered and they actively nerfed the overpowered one, so odds are pretty good if they have a Boon at all it'll be more in line with the normal two.
That nerf was a joke though as long as the boon mechanic is the way it is no amount of tweaking will matter.

@Carrow said:
The sad thing is, BHVR is especially slow to make decisions, so the issue of power creep is even more noticeable in DBD than in some other games. Just consider how long it took them to give Trapper the one extra trap people were telling them for years. And he is still thrash tier without the reopening addon and a map offering.
It also shows bias since look at what they have done recently it takes them so long to nerf certain perks and buff killers but if it's a killer nerf it only takes a few months.

There is no reason to play Micheal for any reason other than his character.
Except he has, I think, the most fun play variant add-ons in the game (the Mirrors and Tombstones). I'm not really into his base kit, but he's a lot of fun when you use one of the alternate playstyles, something which Ghost Face and Oni and Bubba, etc, don't have.
Except not everyone can play that due to the rng nature of the bloodweb so you might get 1-4 matches where you can have genuine fun then you can get stuck with web after web of trying to get specific items leading to a rut and people not wanting to play any more.

If they enjoyed the chase then they would play a basic killer instead of a ranged one. There is nothing stopping people from playing legion.
Other than legion being hot garbage.

That is fair, but zoning killers are only going to lead to prethrown pallets and an eventual down. Very little actual interaction other than kicking pallets. Maybe for you all you want is to down survivors no matter the cost, but for other people who genuinely enjoy the chasing it ruins the game.
Chases have been ruined thanks to how the balance is now. Most survivors just constant run along with dead hard the only things killers can do is tunnel or use zone attacks which right now isn't even that fun thanks to most killer's range attacks being slow.

I just got done finally playing VHS as killer for a few matches after waiting months to get access to the beta....
Let me tell you, as bad as the feeling of killer can be in this game, it is nothing next to the outright uselessness of playing killer in that game. Just try tracking a survivor in that game - there's no scratch marks, the sound design is just ass, an injured survivor barely gives more indication than a non-injured on where they are, and there's basically no way of knowing which station they're building on unless they miss a skill check, so you have to guess.
Made me realize I really took this game for granted. There isn't a single game like DBD that is nearly as well though our, even when the devs are very ignorant to some things overall.
The game's still in Beta and people who have played it already said that it plays differently from dbd

- They already nerfed loops with map reworks
- Gen speed isnt fast, if anything its slow due to gen defence perks killers have.
1.all they added was more junk to the point where it seems most pallets are safe
2.not everyone has all the gen perks and perks shouldn't be the answer to fix the gen speed.

Balance change to address camping: Remove the two health state grab from killers. If an injured survivor goes for an unhook, that could be a grab. Otherwise, nah. Thwack em or use your power.
Survivors aren’t entitled to survive. Killers aren’t entitled to kills.
I agree that advantages of camping should be addressed so we can go back to what makes the game thrilling: chases.
Too bad the devs ######### that up thanks to constant running and the map design.

I'm constantly playing at low MMR (I am fairly sure because I lose most of my survivor games, in recent times I've survived less than 15% of my matches) so I get the worst killers the game has to offer. I played against a Bronze IV killer yesterday who was phenomenally bad, along with three teammates who were all Iri 1 - and managed to be even worse at the game than the killer, so it wasn't a big deal for the killer to get a 4k.
Grades and emblems have nothing to do with being good at the game. They should be replaced on the scoreboard screen, it would be more useful to show survivor portraits in their place. At this point I slowly suspect someone at BHVR loves to confuse players and enjoys all these complaints.
True however like I said before the grades and emblems do at least show that they spent more time on the game and has more kit to work with. And unless they swap it out to have your devotion level shown instead of the rank that's all we can go off of.

Okay, but my point is... let's say you do something like.... make Huntress a 115 killer.
That will give Huntresses a better chance to catch top tier, high MMR SWFs.
But it ALSO means that the lower MMR people get stomped TWICE AS HARD.
To a point yes but it will also will give killers a little break while making survivors actually think about how to deal with a strong killer and such and not be overly reliant on rng and perks which is what the status quo is now.
Along with that it will also open more diverse playstyles since right now the only viable character for all three brackets right now is blight

Pinky Finger, Iridescent Head, Nurse and Spirit have already been nerfed, some of them quite recently. You jsut can't get over the fact you're bad at the game can you?
Just ignore them it's another crutch survivor who talks about how Killers are oppressive and tries to justify that survivors need everything including the kitchen sink to stand a chance.
-
@WesCravenFan said:
Killer is impossible to fix.
I have no idea what you could do to make Killer experience better that is going to apply fairly to all skill levels.
Currently anything you to buff Survivors turns Bully SWFs into even more unstoppable demons, and anything you do to buff Killers turns low MMR Killers into pubstomping monsters.
Buff base kits instead of perks?

To be honest I think we will only see conservative changes to balance for the forseeable future. Unless something like a significant drop in player numbers and/or purchases gives BHVR a wake up call.
So it will just devolved into a survivor circle jerk then because that's the path this game is going.
-
No they don't need to be op but there needs to be more balance so more playstyles can be viable.

I think she will be half Demo and half Pinhead. How?
Every survivor will has curse bar. When it gets full, you will need to find television and copy it. If you won't do that, Sadako (Samara) will see your aura everywhere, so you will not be safe. So if you copy it, your bar will reset for minute maybe? Or maybe longer, idk numbers can change.
And also Sadako will put wells like Demo and she can use them for teleport.
Will it be worth getting her though? Much like most killers now I just hope they can actually be fun to play as but, my patience with these devs has all but left because these devs have had chance after chance after chance to fix their ######### and decided to just ignore the issues and just kept proceeding with what they want.

No. Because im making reasonable suggestions.
No you are not, you are going after anti loopers saying they are "unfun" without understanding as to why they have become the norm. Then say to someone who has made a good point of anti loopers existing (dealing with pre dropped pallets) by saying that "you're just killer biased and want undeserving wins" like a one-sided biased person would do when they have no reasonable counterargument.
Here's something else if the really gave that much of a ######### about variety the easiest way to fix it is to nerf DH. That perks has been a thorn in people's side for a good long while and I could see more variety of playstyles being played if that and maybe a couple of others got nerfed

I dunno, i think the lore has been pretty good lately.
They shoehorned the black veil into artist's lore and for Trickster it's just showing how the world of kpop sucks to be in like most entertainment careers. Maybe you like that fine but for me unlike say deathslingers lore or either of the yamaoka clan members the new stuff is just fluff to add some life to the characters.

You just proved that you are killer biased with this reply "I dont want survivors to tbag because my ego cant take it. I want to get undeserved downs"
And this doesn't make you survivor biased?
-
@Faulds said:
The devs change the game little by little... and i really do think that the game experience is going into the right direction step by step. Its just that people focus more on the bad things than the right ones. Also, its hard to balance this game: because you have to balance something from two different perspectives at the same time (and people that only plays one don't understand the game fully).
Unfortunately that's going to happen and right now unlike you I can't see it getting better especially since the bad has outweighed the good.
-
@anarchy753 said:
Because BHVR's unwillingness to balance meta perks feeds into the problem.
When you leave something broken in the game for 4 years, survivors rely on the perk and assume it will never be touched. If they do choose to balance Dead Hard at some point, the amount of crying will be astronomical, just like it was when DS got nerfed, especially because many survivors seem to believe "press e to outplay" is a really high skill play.
Well we can't have nice things. IMO it's damn near over do for survivors to get something gutted to the ground.
-
@Seanzu said:
You guys are definitely interesting at times, I really do feel sorry for the devs a lot of the time.
The forum is full of people calling the developers lazy, say the just band-aid every problem with a perk or easy fix, and then, they state they're going to take the time to individually tweak a perk to work with every killer, and you're all complaining about it being too much work, or that they should just make the perk do something different.
Insane.
Probably because they are trying to do more work than needed.
Right now dh has been seen as the most used perk because of how forgiving it is to survivors and a massive pain to killers so the logical thing to do would be tweak DH to balance the game but, look at what happened instead.
And right now the devs do not deserve the money the players are giving to them cause look at the state of the game and see why people think the devs are lazy.
-
@Ripley said:
Why? Because it's an extremely popular survivor skill. Reworking it means changing it from how it behaves but I'd wager BHVR know they'll get backlash if they changed DH. Bottom line, got to keep the SWF happy.
So appease to survivors to shill cosmetics instead of saving face because most now think the dev team is full of idiots?
Trust me the backlash from fixing dh will probably not be as bad as what it is now.

I just want a killer that has a fair power. I think everyone can easily tell that anti loop killers make the game worse.
Riiight and the fact that looping now is pointless endevors thanks to too many safe pallets or just general map pressure not existing and the gen speed now has no bearing as to why anti loops are more desirable.

I think she will have some kind of teleport and maybe stealth. Any ideas?

Atleast not anymore.
Though that could still happen with victor

I know some will disagree with what I will say but yes it's has gotten stale same game type no difference most variety is counter productive so it has boiled down to survivors run meta and killers using slowdown perks.

it's not unbalanced though. the grades don't affect your MMR.
They don't yes but explain this then? Why are iri ranked players who have most of the perks if not all are allowed to go up players who most likely don't have much kit to work with I know the resets make it harder to track but still.
I'm not saying it effects mmr but it does show how unbalanced this God awful system is.

Weird how some survivors don't like going against nemesis and pyramid head and think they're horrible designed killers because "anti loop" when demogorgon is literally anti loop himself but people don't trash talk him because "oOOOo DemO PUppY". Not saying people should hate demogorgon, I'm a demo main, but the double standards from some survivors are insanely odd and mind numbing.
Oh it's just survivors whining about how killer should play?
I thought this was about the oddball double standards the game has as a whole.

Of course. I love it for the BPs.
Well I meant other than the bare basic reason.
Lately the lore that is shown is kinda awful and at least for the last two featured killers that will be played for a little bit and the thrown away to go back to the status quo.

A commendable and respectable opinion, I might add.
You, sir, are a man of culture.
Well if you want a longer explanation let me ask then. Other than adding some junk to autoheaven ,cold front ,coal tower and making gideon a pallet haven what do most reworks add other than maybe fixing some loops? Right now I know Haddonfield is getting reworked but honestly I don't have my hopes up on that mess being fixed.

Are people even still talking about VHS? I thought it already died even though it’s still in Beta?
DbD will stay for a while. Evil Dead will be pretty different. Maybe the TCM game will be competition, but it won’t lead to DbD completely vanishing as it’s only about one license and very likely not getting the variety that DbD offers.
and despite all the complaints, from both sides, it is still going strong.
Riiight that's why the numbers keep going down and almost certainly will keep going down after ringu is released.
I'm not saying it will vanish right away but look at the righting on the wall people are leaving sick and tired of waiting for some miracle update that will fix this game and the one that stay are mainly just the hardcore fans of the licenses or people who spent too much money on a game that right now doesn't deserve it.
