I know but still... Once they get a hold of blatant cheating then subtle cheating would be next... right???
They stated in the dev blog that they are working on more anti-cheat countermeasures. I imagine subtle cheating will get looked at, but it is a more difficult problem to deal with when simple validation can't really address it.

I just read through the Dev update....
I like the changes being talked about... Bots is good for Killer that don't have friends (or have friends online and willing to play)
Preventing cheaters is good but they need to get the subtle cheats gone sooner rather then later
The graphical update is not big enough to be enthusiastic about
So what's everyone's thoughts about this
Subtle cheating is simply much harder to tackle. Things like preventing survivors from hooking themselves or instantly completing a gen are simple to add validation checks for.
Things like survivors auto hitting great skill checks or auto dead hard on killer swing are much harder to validate against.
-
Dev blogs aren't often focus on balance changes unless it's something notable. Eruption can always get a nerf in the upcoming 6.4, but since 6.4 is a chapter patch don't expect any balance changes to come. It's not often we get balance changes in a chapter patch unless something in that chapter is forcing the change (i.e. franklins and Nemesis).
-
I think the Syringes are fine. They used to be way worse granting an immediate health state, but the killer has a window to down the survivor before the heal goes off.
-
It really does. Almost every form of survivor bm gets defended, but even the slightest killer bm gets complained about. You really can't have it both ways.
Either you dislike bm in video games or you don't care.

No one is denying that sometimes killers DC too, for stupid, selfish reasons. In my experience though it happens far, -far- less often, like even factoring in there being 4 survivors and 1 killer, killers still DC considerably-less than survivors.
The few times I've seen killers DC it's usually when they've lost multiple gens and are really struggling to get their first down.
The other thing to note is that there's too many people trying to justify survivor d/cing to nerf killers, but you really don't see people justify killer d/cs to nerf survivors. Hence why survivor d/cing gets talked about more.
-
I know there's not point in interacting with you, because you've already discredit any form of disagreement as just being a "low skill killer", but I don't see making this bug a feature is beneficial to the game. The game is far better without it.
-
You overlooked the one aspect of DS that is actually useful. You can reset Endurance with it.
If you have OTR and DH, you normally can't use both. However with DS you can take the OTR hit, DS the killer, and then DH really extending the time they spend to tunnel you.

Not really, i am getting stomped by SWF's teams every 10th game or something and it is far from FUN.
I do play survivor as well, just very low mmr and i chill, i don't care if i die or escape and most of the time we lose because teammates in solo quee are just selifsh most of the time.
I complain for High Elo SWF being busted not "ALL survivors"
On no you lose 10% of your games. What a real tragedy.
-
No.
Items related to a killer's power do not get blocked by blindness.
-
It feels like a bug, because every other Legion skin has distinct different between Frenzy and Non-Frenzy movement.
-
You made a topic earlier today where you showcase getting a 4K with a Starstruck Nurse build on Midwich.
If you are getting to the level of facing people like Hens, you really have no one else to blame but yourself given how much you go out of your way to 4K and thus raise your own mmr.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Remember guys according to OP this is a very unbalanced game that favours survivors, which is why so far the only Screenshots we've seen include a 4k.
Not only that, but he has wanted to have an option to opt out of swf, because he didn't like having difficult matches.
-
I honestly don't see the synergy with franklins as a problem.
Map offerings are the bigger problem honestly.
-
Idk if I would call it the best addon, especially after it's been indirectly nerfed with conspicuous actions so it can no longer act as a free hit against camping killers.
BNPs and Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe are still very good contenders for the best addon slot.
Although to answer the question, not really. I didn't really use it much before and the few times I did were mostly for MoM builds.

Can you get adept with 3K if you get merciless? I haven't done it myself, and I haven't heard of anyone doing it. Although I will say double pipping as survivor is much harder.
You can, I've done it on a few killers adepts in the past back in old grade based matchmaking.
Double pipping as a survivor is much harder, because you compete with other survivors for emblems. The requirement for survivor is only escaping.
Double pipping as killer by contrast is much easier, but some killers have bad emblem gains which can hurt. It feels harder, because the survivors you face won't be weaker on reset, but reset does make it easier to get merciless if you are trying to grab some adepts due to the lower limit of double pipping. But since earning Merciless Killer is all the system cares about, it doesn't matter how many survivors you kill as long as you get enough emblems to double pip.
-
@BabyShrimp said:
For the Power Moves achievement survivors have to do the equivalent of 1 gen, so Idk why killer basically have to pip twice and 4K for an adept achievement and survivors just have to escape. If that's the standard for survivors, Idk why a 4K sometimes isn't good enough. It's so sad thinking you've got it then getting "ruthless killer"
4K is not actually a requirement for adepts. Only double pipping. In Ash and Bronze grades it's possible to kill only 3 survivors and double pip, because you can afford to devout as gold.

That is all very true:O
Thank ya'll for the comments;) this really got me thinking...
In the end, taking away the aspects of the powers and only looking the movement speed itself, insta teleporting killers (Pinhead, Sadako, Hag, Freddy) are the fastest... obviously. Then Dredge with his teleport in nightfall, then Demodoggy with his dash and teleport. Victor with his pounce is also one of the fastest... And then Wesker with his dash and then The Nurse.
But yes, powers play a big role. But lets say we got two points in a map, no set places like portals or lockers. Just a straight line. Then, to physically move from one point to another, Wesker would be faster than nurse with a one-time-use of his power and he'd go further than The Nurse. Well... in the end, powers really play a big role ;P
Using both charges of their respective powers:
Nurse travels 32 meters (20 first blink, 12 second blink), goes into 2.5 second fatigue where she can move 0.96m/s and then It takes 6 seconds to charge both her blinks meaning she only has to walk for 4.5 seconds before she can charge up her blinks again.
Wesker travels 21 meters (7 first dash, 14 second dash). Goes into 3 seconds cooldown at 2.3m/s and then takes 12 seconds to recharge both charges. He has to walk for 9 seconds before he can dash twice again.
It's hard to argue that Wesker is more mobile than nurse, because Nurse both goes farther and waits less for her charges to come back.
-
You're making a much bigger deal than it really is.
If you are actively repairing a gen, it doesn't matter if you see the aura of the portals. If you want to go secure your void energy, you'll have to stop repairing the gen anyways and then you'll lose blindness to locate the portal.
It really doesn't matter if you can see where the portal is while working on a gen, because it doesn't change anything.
-
With grade reset every 13th putting you back into Ash grade where you only need 14 to double pip (2 golds + 2 iris or 1 silver + 3 iris). Even bronze has the same 14 to double pip. You can get a 3K and still double pip if you wait til reset.
Obviously some killers are harder than others, because Legion has an easy time gaining pips compared to instant down killers. Though there's also a devout bug right now.
Not saying killer adepts shouldn't be made slightly easier to get, but they certainly aren't a nightmare unless you are trying to get them in gold or iri grades. Which you shouldn't do, because you can just wait for reset.

I’ll admit I was wrong about that perk. I thought initially it’d be a problem even at 30 seconds but it isn’t. If anything though I wish it didn’t take 20 seconds to get your flashlight (10 to open the chest and another 10 to rummage), I’d love if that was a bit faster.
I wish pharmacy didn't get nerfed to lose the searching speed unless injured. Though they can still combo together.
Really the flashlight part is just an extra thing so you can actually use the perk if you don't bring in a flashlight.

@dugman said:
Absolutely not, knowing where the gens are is super critical from a strategic standpoint as killer, especially in the early game. This would just gut killers across the board, even experienced ones.
Now that said, I do think the survivor perk Residual Manifest could stand to either have its duration lengthened or to add in the additional effect of hiding scratches. Making the killer Blind is potentially a decent survivor perk effect but in practice Residual Manifest doesn’t last quite long enough to do much. The best case for it might be a flashbang trapped generator blinding a killer who kicks it between chases and the lack of auras makes it a bit harder for them to get into a new chase quickly. Blinding at a pallet isn’t quite as good since the killer already knows you’re there and can hear you and see the scratches or blood when the blindness wears off so can just keep chasing you and by the time that ends the 30 second duration is over anyway.
So personally I say definitely No to hiding gen auras as base kit but I’m ok with Blindness being something survivors can actively inflict with Residual Manifest.
I made a suggestion around the time Residual Manifest was release saying the blind duration should be buffed and suggested 60 seconds. I was meet with a bunch of people claiming that it would be too strong if it did that.
The blindness effect kicks in immediately when the killer is blinded so you already lose out on seconds due to the fact their screen is blocked anyways. Then in most situations where you blind the killer that 30 seconds will wear off before they down someone so it can't be used to block hook auras either. The only situation where I've seen Residual Manifest do anything is this one match vs a Scratched Mirror Myers on RPD.
I think I also mentioned how it doesn't block scratched marks so it's not even useful at pallets as a way to help sneak away either. I wouldn't mind if blindness blocked seeing scratch marks as well since that would also make blindness affect Fixated and Inner Focus. Atm though as fun as Residual Manifest is, unless you encounter a scratch mirror myers or all seeing wraith, it really doesn't do anything and blinding the killer is such an interesting anti-aura reading tool that I wish it was a bit more useful overall.

I see being able to see the perk loadouts of survivors as killer being too much

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought I heard that the great majority of killer games are vs solos vs swfs. If someone has the exact percentages, please post. But I believe it was like 10% were swf. So…. 90% of your games are easy but you need the last 10% to be made easier too…
This is 2019 data, because this was the only time I remembered the devs ever giving us data on SWF.
Solo players make up around 50% of all parties. You're definitely facing swf more often than 10% of the time when SWF makes up 50% of all queueing parties. And I really doubt solo has gotten more popular since 2019.

That's funny because according to nighlight.gg and recent Killer Pickrate stats, Blight and Nurse together make up for ~10% combined pickrate... so 90% of your games are easy but you need the last 10% to be made easier too?
This was additional data the devs gave us for the month of september pick rates
Nurse and Blight in all MMRs have a pick rate of around 9% and in top MMR it was around 10%. Note, this was also wesker's release month and Wesker meaning their overall pickrate could be higher.

Is it fun to camp or tunnel ? No, for both sides, its boring to camp a hook, but gives you no choice, 12 hooks in High mmr ? Gl with that my friend.
You're complaining about not having easy games while going out of your way to play as hard as you possibly can to win. You can always chill out, go for the 12 hook games and if survivors escape oh well, you'll eventually get easier survivors to play against.
-
The problem I find with comparing movement speeds like this is it takes away all other aspects of the powers.
Nurse can go through floors and walls and while might be a bit slower than Wesker certainly has more mobility than he does.
Also Wesker goes ~21m with both dashes. Nurse goes 20m with her first blink (and 10m for her 2nd) before we event factor her range addons.
Blight is also a notable mention, because while he's not as fast as Nurse (9.2m/s by default) Blighted Crow, Blighted Rat, and Adrenaline Vial also increase his rush speeds and he has 5 charges. Meaning the distance he can cover is a lot larger than both Wesker and Nurse.

You can't get better on a game that is designed for you to lose 100%. If you watched the video you would understand how it feels Killer High MMR.
You can certainly beat SWFs. It's not easy and some squads are going to be much harder than others. But the act of queueing up with other people being an auto-win is far from the truth.

Merciless Storm with its back-to-back forward, backward, here, there bs skill checks? Against new survivors at my MMR..? 😂🤣 Okay, bud
Merciless Storm also works once per a gen and if you let go instead of attempting the skill check you just block the gen for 20 seconds and avoid blowing it up.
-
Why shouldn't the killer be able to pick the gens they want to defend? It's a valid tactic.
-
Wiggling isn't meant to be a reliable way to escape the killer without other survivors interfering.
So no they should not do this.

You're asking for information that does not exist

No.
If you are honestly reaching the point with the dc penalty where you have a multiple hour lockout, then you really aren't playing much dbd in the first place with all that d/cing. This is a "you" problem you have to figure out.

if you want to prove to people that you are as good as you say, it's not up to other people to put in the effort to prove it for you.
You can set up your own discord for this. You can set up your own stream for this. Your refusal to do so only shows that there is no truth to this and people will continue to take you as a troll as a result.

Sorry I think mistook you for the OP.
Still, why are you upholding that false equivelancy that both types of BMs are comparable? Survivors by no means can hold you hostage. The killer, however, can. Survivors standing at the exit gate T-bagging can be stopped by approaching them. Survivors can't do the same for being bled out.
You can absolutely complain about one and not the other, because only one of them can actually hold you hostage for more than 30 seconds.
They are comparable. Both are only done with the intention of wasting time for the bm. It doesn't matter if one has a shorter duration than the other.
If you don't like the killer slugging you for 4 minutes, you should also not like survivors standing at the exit gate just to get a last teabag in. Both are poor sportsmanship when they could have just ended the game without getting the last bm in.
If you don't like BM in video games, you should dislike all forms of BM. Picking and choosing what bm you find acceptable is just being a hypocrit. Either all bm is acceptable or none is.
-
@Carmina_is_cute said:

These two scenarios are incomparable because the killer can literally walk forward and force them out. Survivors can do NOTHING about being bled out. Stop being entitled and demanding everyone to be punished for harmlessly scratching your ego.
Where did I say survivors should be punished for waiting at the exit gate?
I just said people shouldn't defend one form of bm and dislike the other form of bm. If you dislike people wasting your time, then you should dislike both survivors who wait at the exit gate solely to bm and killers who slug out the last survivor for 4 minutes.
Otherwise if you think that survivors waiting at the exit gate soley to bm is fine, then there's absolutely wrong if a killer slugs you out. Both will end once the timer is finishes so there's no actual problem.

Yea, it takes me a whopping 30 seconds to reply to you while I watch my friend play WoW let's not overreact here, which is a speciality of this forum, pretending something is way more severe than it is.
I just don't see it as BM, literally doesn't both me, and takes 10 seconds to fix, killers already chase people to exit gates trying to down them, it is almost 0 extra effort in a normal game of DBD.
I'm sorry you feel the need to defend survivor bm and frankly I'm not going to put anymore effort into responding to someone who defends survivor bm.

You're spending a lot of effort to go at me for stating that both slugging out someone for 4 minutes and waiting in the exit gate to teabag are both bad.
If you agree they are both bad then you had no reason to respond in the first place.
I'm sorry you felt the need to downplay survivor bm at the exit gate.
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3240736#Comment_3240736
There is a huge difference between standing in the gates that has a counter (holding w, something you do the entire mach) and being bled out on the floor for 4 minutes, that has absolutely no counter what so ever. The fact killers don't see the different between these is a problem in itself, either way I don't moan about either of them, but they are very different.
If you don't like time wasting, don't defend time wasting. As I said it doesn't really matter if the killer can force the survivors to leave, the core is that survivors are wasting time just to bm.
The community would be in a lot better place if people would stop defending bm regardless of which side is doing it.
-
@SoulKey said:
"Why do killers let 4 survivors bleed on the ground for 4 minutes without hooking".
Both are boring and childish play, so move on; It's not like you get this every game.
At least killers have the mean to push them out, imagine being slugged on the ground for 4 minutes and helpless.
Doesn't really matter if killers can force survivors out of the exit gate. The fact there's a double standard where survivors extending the game longer than it needs to is "acceptable" whereas if the killer doesn't it's "wrong" is a problem.
As long as survivors defend waiting in exit gate just to teabag the killer before leaving, I don't want to see them complain about being slugged for 4 minutes.
-
Can't say I'm too surprised OP is flaking
-
Personally I don't think COB + Overcharge is that bad to deal with. Once you touch a gen all regression stops so if you get back on a gen quick enough it doesn't lose a lot of progress.
What I think is actually problematic right now is Eruption which you often see as a 3rd perk combined with COB and Overcharge. The 25 second incapacitated duration alongside a trigger that is hard to actually avoid means it can be literally impossible to finish the last gen if the killer keeps Erupting them.
-

Technically that's what map offerings are for.
But we can already see that they are largely used by survivors to send killers to unfavorable realms.
Personally I would rather map offerings got removed, because I'm tired of squads just sending me to Badham, so I don't see how a map voting system wouldn't just end up favoring one side.

Eh, at least I can go next.
I'd rather pursue the bot system though.
We already know what the game is like when d/c penalties are disabled. There's no reason to loosen it up for solo q and make solo q worse.
-
So your solution to solo q being frustrating is to make it more frustrating?
-
It's technically already been nerfed since the ability to endurance stack was removed which would have actually broke the perk. It's also not on "literally everyone", because I've played through many games where not a single survivor brought it. Plus the buff to 10 seconds base BT made OTR less common since OTR was more a substitute for mediocre basekit bt.
If survivors are keeping the endurance for the full 90 seconds off hook, they haven't worked on a single gen that entire time. It doesn't activate in end game so it won't stop you from securing a kill. It's literally just a skill issue at this point.
-
Everyone keeps saying "survivor has 100% bonus all the time" but I honestly see 50% for killer and no bonuses pretty often lately.
Survivor isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.
